The MSG Network and streaming live on YouTube. And here we are! Gorgeousness with D and R. I'm fresh out of the shower. Look at the studio behind me. Look at this! That's great. How nice does that look? I look nice. I mean, like... Here's the problem. Here's the problem. What's the problem? And this is not a negative towards you. It's just with these cameras.

And when we go to our two shot, you don't get a chance to really see all the hard work that Sherry put into it. Okay. It's a very small area. Okay. But when RJ goes back and takes like, you know, more of a pan of the room, then you get to see that. Which you can see. Right. The nice to me when you start making one of your, like, great football points. We go to the Dave Rothenberg Superstar one shot. Now you get a chance to see what Sherry was busy doing. There it is. Look at that. How about that? I think we get something right in that area right there. I can't see you, so I don't know what you're saying. That space over to... So you're right shoulder. Okay. Because when you get the superstar cam over over a little this way between like right there next to the hat. Yeah, hat and I even think something. Right there. Right where I'm pointing. Yeah, I even think something if we put like you could even get like a giant, like a giant life-sized player to put up there. Stand it right up over there.

Just get a player. What a real player, but I mean, like a bottle head. I got a life size. I got some bottle heads. That's what I'm saying. Maybe for tomorrow get some bottle heads. But this is nice. This is this is the way it's supposed to be. It looks good. We feel good. Football's here. There's a... I don't want to say a Christmas to the air, but there's not really a Christmas to the air. It was highest today. Human yesterday. Yeah, it's just I mean, it's tricky for us though, because when you wake up it's a little crisp. And then by the time you walk out the door it's... Yes, it's hot. So I got to tell you. I mean, always transparent with you guys. I have a dinner by the way. Seven o'clock today. Very excited about that. Talks in college football with her. Observations did happen in Florida. Of course. That football game last night was not great. It was entertaining because it was competitive down to the end. That was not a great football game. Not a great football game. I mean, it is football though. And as much as we want to pretend that when preseason starts that it's great.

And it is great because it's finally back. It's just it's different, right? It's week one. It's a super bowl rematch. It's the Super Bowl champs. You see the ring. You got the banner, the whole deal. And then unfortunately for Seattle, right? Sam Donald gets hurt immediately. I thought it was his knee initially. It sounds like it's a sip now. And I'll have an MRI today to see what they say. Well, they said it's not as bad as they originally thought it could be. Well, they don't... That's what we need to start. They started this morning. No, I know. Well, they went for a CT scan. So he actually had to leave and go to a hospital for a CT scan. Right. The results of that came back good for him. And now they're going to go MRI to figure out exactly what's going on. I mean, potentially with his... His labor medicine, but whatever he did to it last night. Well, I mean, what a terrible loss in the Patriots. Awful. Awful loss. You're winning the game. It's a backup quarterback. I mean, Drake May was... He was not good last night. And I know AJ Brand got hurt, but you can't get picked off like against...

That's not even the full healthy Seattle defense. The terrible against last night. Yeah, bad decisions. I mean, Romeo and Dobbs has to make that catch. I mean, let's call what it is. Jordan Love does a real good job of kind of baiting him there into that interception. But Dobbs... I mean, that's the first time. Julian, right? Julian Love, right? Yeah. I think it's in Jordan Love. No, no, Julian Love. I might have. Julian Love. Um, does a good job of baiting him there. But I mean, Drake May makes a perfect throw. I mean, he actually takes a little bit off of it for Romeo and Dobbs to catch and he drops it for first down. Oh, it's terrible. It's awful. Terrible. And then, like, listen, it's week one, right? So, I mean, the preseason isn't what it used to be. You're trying to keep guys healthy. So, guys aren't necessarily playing as much as they used to play. So, the operations aren't great. I mean, you had Seattle. They got a first-time play call or they got, you know, backup quarterback. They take it to lay a game, right? They got a settle for a field goal to make a 13-10 instead of scoring a touchdown there. And then you can't, that is a, that's a guaranteed chip shot.

99.9% chance that game is going into overtime. You can't make that decision. Now, I was not upset because I was happy the game was ending. It was starting to get late and I was like, you know what? I want to, I want to kind of be done here. And I didn't really care. I had no interest in who won the game. But it's one of the very few games I watched. I didn't have a pick. I didn't have anything. I didn't care who won the game. But if you're, if you're Drake May, how do you do that? How do you, how do you, just come on, man? It's your three for you now. You're in this Super Bowl. You're coming off a bad postseason. You have a guaranteed just about like you said, overtime chance. And you do that? Yeah, I mean, their kicker doesn't miss from 50. Now, listen, something could happen. But you're assuming that if we don't score a touchdown here, we'll kick the field goal and go into overtime. And now it's, you know, it's still, it's still drew lock. Right? He didn't make mistakes. He was fine. But it's still drew lock. You were runner up for the MVP last year.

I mean, kind of like your chances. But yeah, he made, I mean, three, three picks. I mean, his bad is, I see I had to do it. What, 10 penalties? I don't know the number. But it was a, I was like eight to zero. The penalties. Right. I think it was, I think it was 10. They had the roughing the pun. I mean, there was, they made mistakes also. But you're right. I mean, this is your three for Drake May. He was runner up for the MVP. He got all the way to the Super Bowl. It wasn't great, by the way. In the, in the, in the title. It was terrible. Right. It wasn't a, it wasn't, it wasn't what you saw from him in the regular season. And I think that's why a lot of people are pointing to their schedule. And why the Patriots aren't going to be good. I think those people are crazy. The schedule is definitely going to be good. But I think the people that said they're going to take a step back. I don't think that's crazy right now. That, that's a game you have to win. I know, but you say that, but they're making them make good. I'm not talking about those people that are like, you know, record wise, make not, you know, might not look the same. Like I hear people saying that the Patriots is not going to be good. Oh, no, I think that's crazy. Right. The offensive line is clearly better. I mean, Veritaque is good.

Campbell's going to be a better player. No, there are offensive lines going to be good. I mean, that AJ brought it all. It felt to me like the game completely changed. And it's like he was a huge factor. But once they lost AJ Brown, like their passing game really took a hit. It really slowed down. Dubs did nothing. No, he was a doctor. The doctor never, the doctor never catch last night. No, he, yeah, you're back up running back. Well, he, he was fine. No, Steven Tim was fine. Yeah, he was fine, but it seems fine. He was fine. He waited for 51 yards. Yeah, caught a couple of balls. Yeah. Right. Less than three yards of carry. Like, but you know what I'm saying? So it's like, that's not, he's good. He's fine. But you have your number one receiver goes out. And I think a lot of us thought the same thing that, you know, AJ Brown with what he was, you know, the perception around AJ Brown with Jalen Hertz and the contentiousness of that relationship because he wasn't getting the ball enough or whatever. And now he's all excited. He always wanted to be a patriot. You were going to figure in week one that AJ Brown was going to be a big part of what they were going to do. Yes, right?

Yeah. And I'm watching the game and thinking to myself, maybe it's Cassiattles defense is so good that they're kind of slowing him down. But he was, even when he was played last night, AJ Brown, I'm sure you have in front of you. He was very quiet. He didn't do a lot. No, three catches, 26 yards targeted four times. That's, that's nothing. Yeah, one of those was for 14. So yeah, I mean, it wasn't, it's nothing. You're not, you're not wrong. Like, it wasn't, it didn't feel like it was a great game. I mean, between the penalties for Seattle, not having Sam Darnold, you know, JNS is my time, my time, my time, I'm like, so call him. I had the big, big touchdown catch. You got to make that tackle. I mean, that's, I get it's JSN, but what's the answer missing that tag? I just, my big takeaway was is if Sam Darnold misses an extended period of time, like that's all you said. But you got to be, you're going to miss some time. That's a huge problem. Jadarian price is, is going to be a good running back. Like that kid, I mean, I know you need to get up taking two from everyone was talking about Jeremiah love. Jadarian price is going to be a good running back.

Well, he's got, and you saw it from the first touch last night, because I have a couple of fantasy teams. Yes, I do too. Yeah. And the truth is, like whenever you have that, you pay a little closer attention, right? I mean, that's the truth. So I'm watching, he gets that first carry. I was like, oh, yeah, like he, he has that. He's got the first. Yeah, exactly. He's got that burst. And you can see, like he hits the edge, he gets a little bit of space and, and he really is gone. I'm not gone, but like he, he, he turns like, well, could be a three yard gain into a seven eight yard game. Like he's, he's got that, that afterburner. And he's going to be good. I didn't, I felt like didn't play him enough though. I feel like every time he got cooking there, like they got him out of the game quickly. Well, you got to figure two though. I mean, you lost. That was one of the other things I think people would point to as to why, you know, we're so high on the Rams. And maybe not talking about Seattle as much is, I think there still is this perception of Sam Donald. Right? And I think on top of it, they lost, they lost Kubeak. Yep. Like so, I mean, Mike McDonald is, you know, he's a defensive genius.

But how does this affect now, you know, Sam Donald in that offense? And it's a young play call or two. I mean, there are a couple times where he got plays in real late. And it looked like there's a chance there's going to be a delay game. But I mean, there are a lot of mistakes. But I think that Seattle, you're right. Their defense isn't fully healthy. They're, they're a good team. But that free, a very good team. But again, what you said to start the show is right. You got to tend nothing to lead. You have an opportunity to late in that game. It's with the very least game time feel going to take it into OT. And you throw a pick. That's, that's, Drake May needs to be better than that. And that's what that's, that's not second in the MVP voting quarterbacking. No, it's just a bad decision. So it's like trying to do too much. Like I mean, lift, lift the fight another down. Like that's not a, you're fading away, you know, you're fading away and you make a throw. Either that's, you know, only where Mac Hollens can catch it. Or it's, it's out of the end zone so you can kick the field goal and take this thing to OT. Yeah. So he was 23, 33, 178 yards, three interceptions.

QBR 54.9. That was not, it was not a good game. I mean, like you mentioned, he didn't play well. What you got is not the, not the end of the world. He didn't play well. It's weak one. It's in Seattle. It's a tough place to play. It's fine. But, you know, if you want to try to get back to where you were or lesser, because that AFC is loaded. Loving, even that division. That could be a loss that comes back to be real costly against, you know, chasing Buffalo this season. Well, we're all expecting Buffalo to be good. I mean, very good. And then, I mean, you look at the next three opponents. You're, you know, home first Pittsburgh, you're at Jacksonville, you're at Buffalo. Give me, get home Pittsburgh. I mean, you should win that. Who knows, right? And then what is it at Jacksonville at Buffalo? So they go at Buffalo week. Four, four. Yeah. Wow. That's a massive early season game. Yeah, but you had one. It felt like you had one in the bank. Because you did. So because you did. I mean, that dobs drop. The dobs drop. I mean, you're up by what? They were up by what 10, right? That was 10. Nothing. It was 10.

Nothing. I mean, the fourth downplay that they get the touchdown on. It's just this. I don't care. But if that's my team, like if this is, if that's a New York team or if we're doing Boston Sports Talk radio, I mean, you let it fly today. You'd be very upset. You'd be very upset. And you also, I think, I think you're smart enough to recognize that, you know, there have been a lot of conversations surrounding your team. Buffalo is going to be really good. The AFC, like you mentioned, is loaded. And to go into Seattle, you know, week one and have a real opportunity with, you know, Drew Locke as the quarterback for most of that game outside of the first drive. Like that, you should, you need to win that game. Because your schedule is difficult. Like I'm sitting here looking at it. I gave you those three. You got a bit of a deal. We are reprieved now with Vegas at home and then the Jets. Then you're at Chicago. And then you're at Miami, which is fine. And then from week nine, from week nine to week 15, like buckle up if you're a Patriots fan because you got green Bay Detroit, you're by at the Chargers Buffalo, Minnesota at Kansas City.

Now, I don't know that a lot of people said they're going to take a step back because of schedule. Right? Just people said, oh, they're going to take a step back because they're not that good and whatever that schedule might make you take a step back. Well, but that's, which is fine. And I would, like, I can buy into that, right? Schedule wasn't that hard last year. This year, you know, it's a step up, right? And you look at these teams and everything else. But it was like, it wasn't just the schedule. It was like, yeah, they were scheduled merchants and they're not that good and their offensive line stinks. It's like, okay, well, by the end of the year, the left tackle was hurt. Right? He was the key was what 70% wherever he was. He was just right at all. Right. You just added a VT. Drake May did have a regular season where he was second in the MVP vote could have very easily won the MVP. But because of what you saw in the postseason, he wasn't that, you know, he wasn't as good as you've seen in the regular season. It wasn't just, it wasn't good. But they end up, you add AJ Brown, you're bringing dogs. I know they have a good game last night.

You're bringing the full back from Buffalo and oh, by the way, when you look at their secondary, I mean, they go on the best secondaries in football. Right. And you have a stud corner. I mean, you can start getting started. In this stud. I mean, in, in, in Vray bowl is still a really good coach. So I don't know, just a dismissing the way people were dismissing them. It's like, okay, all right. Yeah, I think, I think that's crazy. I think a large portion of it too is, remember, they were so good in the regular season. It didn't look right in the postseason. I know they're winning games, but it didn't, it didn't look good. It looked like, okay, they're, they're just surviving these games. And then the last you saw, they were terrible. The time before that they, they were, they were bad against Denver. They, that was not a well played football game. So, you know, the, the, the chargers game offensively, they didn't, they didn't look very good. I know, but they, which is fine. And I don't think you're wrong. But they're not, I don't want to use the word lazy. There have been a lot of, like, there have been a lot of instances where we've seen teams that, you know, get to, get to the postseason or get, you know,

real late in a season where, you know, the offensive line, I don't care how good the quarterback is. You've seen Patrick Mahomes with an offensive line that's all banged up, not be very good. Right? And you start talking about the deal with Denver's defense. I think the defense, I mean, they, they let the league in sex. Like, that's a great defense. Right. Seattle's defense is a, is a really good defense. Oh, a great, but let me ask you this. Did you watch New England and think yourself, hmm, that looks like a good football team in the postseason. Especially offensively. No, I didn't, but I also, like, I feel like I'm also smart enough to recognize what they were dealing, dealing with injury wise. And also, you know, I don't, I don't know if it's fair to now take a guy in year two. Right? That had a really good regular season and just expect him to jump in the postseason with a banged up offensive line and be awesome. I think you're fair. I think your point is very well taken. And I think it's an accurate point. I don't think they did themselves any favors last night.

And I don't think people don't like the Patriots, which is fine, which is great. Yeah, I guess they're not going to get the Patriots aren't going to get the benefit of the debt. Yeah, I guess you're right. I guess a totally different Patriots team though. It's not, but I don't think people want to, I know, but I don't think people want to believe that they're back. The way that they could potentially be back. Vrable is the head coach, McDaniel is the OC Drake may almost want an MVP in year two. Like it's like, come on. Really? Like you got fan bases that like like the Jets fan bases like seriously? Well, you guys are, I can't believe you guys get, you get past Brady. And it's like, okay, well, now you'll get Drake May and Josh Allen. So enjoy yourselves. Yeah, great. Thanks. And it's only a matter of time before Miami, you know, gets a elite court. I know a big time quarterback. Right, but the only, the only thing that's great with Miami is they also have, they also have a level of dysfunction. That feels like could keep them from, you know, having some, they're very, they're very jetsy.

Miami. Yes. Yes. Yes. I would agree with that. But, but I will say as much as I looked at that game last time, I'm like, not a great game. Kind of blend, kind of boring, not overly well played. It's still nice to have football back. I know, but I mean, tell me if I'm wrong. As much as it is, as exciting as it is to have the 17th game in a moment, we're going to have 18 games and all these different things. And we're playing on Wednesday and no tomorrow, it's not tomorrow. Tonight is in Australia. All these great things. I feel like over the last, I mean, Arja, you could tell me, I don't know how many years. But for the first, I don't know what, three, four weeks of the NFL season, I feel like we have this conversation a lot. Like, what's the weekend? Just bad football football. Football wasn't great, but hey, it's the NFL. It's back great. Right. Well, even an RGH, I'm in the sack, even even like bad football, still great. No, I know, but it feels like it's been since they changed the schedule, the way they changed the schedule and how teams have handled the preseason. Yeah, it hasn't been nearly as good as it used to be to start to start the season. Arja, identify yourself. Say good morning. Hi.

How you doing? I'm good. How are you guys? Oh my God. George Lopez is in the studio. Not sorry. Sorry. There he is. Hi, Harv. Raymond's at MSG meetings all day. Yeah. Ray's got a lot of big time meetings coming up. That's the excuse. All right. Wow. That's how they shut your mouth. That's my fantasy football partner. We were going back and forth, making acquisitions yesterday. Arja, you see who's in big trouble with fantasy football this week already? You know, I did not know that the two of you were matched up. I was, I was making my way in this morning and I, I was at my walk and I'd finished my, my work on my phone and I'm like, Oh, let me check some fantasy scores. I don't have anything going in our league, but I was like, let me see what else is going on. Right. I come across my, my good buddy Dave and my two buddies Rick and Ray facing off week one. Yep. Week one, baby. And a lot of action already. A lot of action. Lots of action. Lots of action. Yeah. Well, you at, you at, um, AJ Brown, which was costly for you. Yeah. What's going on with your boy, uh, Roma Dune's a though. Uh, let's, listen, if we don't play a Dune's a, we'll, we'll move on and we'll play.

I don't know. No, you don't like a Wilson or Parker Washington. We have, we have choices this day. RJ, you know, it's great. I'll tell you what's great. Dave is going to be in a huge pickle here by Sunday night. Why? I got George Pickens in your team. Is it real? Oh, that is a real chance in this matchup that George Pickens could be the difference between you win and week one or lose. That's not a dilemma at all. I hope George Pickens goes zero for zero. Yes. You can, you can, I'll tell you what? Watch your bedroom. But why would I do that? Why, what do I? They, you don't like them that much, bet you. Well, it's not, no, but you're, you're putting words in my mouth that I'm not saying. I didn't say I don't like him. I think he's very good. I'm saying I would be fine if he doesn't have a good game if it means that the giants win and I lose fantasy. Well, here's a thing though. And this, I don't know how this will play out, but this could very much be a reality. Let's just say, uh, Rick leads by, I don't know, three point nine points. I hope I lose. Well, there's a world though where you lose and the giants lose.

That trick gets a little sketchy. Oh, that's what, that's where Raymond is at his best. Oh my goodness. I forget it. Why would you even put that into the, into the, I'm just, I'm just saying. Like, why would you even throw that out there? Because when, when we factor that seems, that seems awful to do. I mean, it looks like you're in pretty good shape early on, but when we, when we, pretty good shape, kind of, kind of stinks. What, what kind of stinks? Your team. My team doesn't kind of stink. It's not very good. Team's fine. Okay, who has a better team? Champions or team DPHR, which by the way, can you, I mean, team DPHR really? You're not team champions. What do you mean? That's one three years ago. Well, we won and then we've held on to it. Now, Gumbling one back to back champions, everyone should be team champions. But before Gumbling one, who won me? Yeah, three years ago. Right. So we hang on to that moniker. It feels like you're hanging on to the past. Hey, Uncle Rico, let it go, okay? You know what? I'll tell you what. You change from team DPHR, which is the, I mean, just, it's an embarrassment of a name. I will change from champions.

How about you pay off the bet and then I'll change my name. I don't can't be changing name. See, it's only a box on you. By the way, somebody did the research yesterday. Someone did the legwork and I don't know how accurate it is, but they looked up the new... The license plate. New York City license plate availability. And the one that was proposed is available. Yeah. But you guys say nothing about it. I made the offer. I'll wait to hear a response. I'm not going to keep knocking on the door. The offer has been made when you're ready to be. It was the first offer. You're decision. You'll let me know. It was the first offer. When we liked it. It was the first offer. We liked it. Okay. I take it. We're waiting to see if there's anything better that comes out. All right. I'll give you a couple more options later today. Can't bully us into just making this. I'm bullying. It feels like a nice generous offer. It was a nice offer. I'd get it with me. It was a nice offer. It was a legitimate offer. It wasn't like, oh, come on. Well, this is where you shine. Not paying off the original back, but eventually coming through with something that is very interesting and intriguing.

And then pretending he's a hero. We're doing it. It's the people that think that. It's not necessarily me. It's the people that think it because you make them think it. Well, that's a lot of power then. If I can make them think that. All right. Before we break, come back. Get to your calls. 809-1937-76. Bright red, marbling you can see from across the room, a fat cap that knows exactly what it's doing. While you're at it, ask for a cut that can single-handedly carry the cookout on its back. Something so tantalizing, even the neighbor you got beef with asked, what's the secret? Okay, so maybe you can't quite get that specific with shopper notes, but you get the idea. Yeah, it's going to be a good one. I don't know how clean the game is going to be, but yeah, I mean, you got a division matchup. You got two of the best coaches in football, and you got one team that went over a week early, and you got one team that just landed. That's so weird. See how it plays out. Yeah, the whole thing is so strange, isn't it?

It's going to be interesting. I'm real interested to see what happens. Just haven't been through all those trips to wherever it was. Finland, Sweden, wherever you name it. And just knowing how your body feels. I know there's a lot of science that goes into this. I think a lot of teams are paying attention to exactly how this works out. So do you think if, say, San Fran were to win big, lose big, whatever, teams would look at that and be like, okay, they have this secret sauce. I think, yes, I think they will probably lean towards what San Francisco did. And then I think they'll also pay attention to what happens in the upcoming weeks after the trip. Just like how quickly it takes the Rams to get reaclimated. And how quickly the Niners can get reaclimated. Yeah. Well, hopefully it takes the Rams a minute. Well, because you don't want, I mean, listen. This wasn't a decision that was just made where it's like, hey, you know, we'll go this time. There was a lot of research and everything done. Of course. You don't want to, you don't want to ruin weeks two and three because you were so hyper focused on week one. You want to win all of these games, but you also recognize like, hey, we got 16 more of these things.

Right. You can't win the battle, lose the war over week one. Now it's a big game. It's a division game. It's a big game, yeah. It's competing with for this division, but you still, you can't win that game at all costs, right? Yeah, I don't think you go all in. I love to win the game and you're just doing what you think is, is the best thing. And then I just have, yes, you see the other thing too though is just, I mean, I'm sure through the NFL and how, you know, how important it is for them to grow the game and everything else. I'm sure by going over earlier, then the Rams are going over that you are adding things to the itinerary for the end. I'm sure there's things that the 49ers have had to do because they're over there to help promote the game, kind of stuff. Yeah. And then they've got to go to the fence and. As opposed to what that kind of stuff as opposed to the Rams they land checking to the hotels. You know, and then there's not time to do anything. Yeah, right. So I mean, that's that would be something that glue limerillo would do just to make sure that his players just for focus on one thing and one thing only one thing only.

Let's get the update from the head coach of Seattle. Here's Mike McDonald with an update on quarterback, Sam Donald. At this point, we were able to rule out a fracture. I've done that's what I'm saying when it's positive. So, but I know we're still working through all that. But right now I think fractures out, which is, which is greatness. That is good news. And again, we don't know that it's 100% accurate yet, but, but chef to say it looks like the MRI was, was, you know, somewhat promising is today. No, see a cat skin. The cat skin. Yeah, CT for the bone. Today will be the MRI. I think the bigger concern to now was like the inside of the hip joint. So if he did labor damage to his hip joint. Oh, which is not. I've had both of those done is not, not great. There's very few injuries that we can bring up and you'll be like, yeah, I've never had that. A proc, yeah, I mean, you're pretty, right? Yeah. Pretty spot on. Is there any part of the body that's like been unscathed with you? Like, yeah, oh, my. That's, that's, that's really good. Healthy. Good to see. Well, not that it was back till now. Yeah, it's both knee-and. And wrists, shoulders.

No shoulder. Shoulders good. Not good, but I haven't had surgery on it. Yeah, no surgery. No surgery on the whole. How many surgeries have you had? A lot. Over 20? I don't know if it's over 20. Maybe just under 20. Under 20. That's a lot of anesthetic. A lot of anesthetic. I had one surgery where they went in. I woke up. Then they did nothing. And they did nothing. Right. Yeah, we couldn't help you. It's like excuse me. That's awful. Yeah, we went, we looked around. We couldn't help you. So we just zipped you back up. Yeah, because though, like prep for surgery. Yeah. And then, you know, you take time off and you have anesthetic. And you don't feel well. And then to wake up and nothing's happened. Nothing. I took my guy, I said I'm out of here. Give me my clothes. So that was it? So you got up and you left. I got up and left. They don't want to like monitor you. You just had anesthetic. Yeah, I was so mad. I just wanted to get fixed. I gave me an extra one. Of course. You just think they go in, they'll fix it and you'll be back. And that wasn't the case. Here's Mike Vrable, who can't be too happy on May's third.

And costly interception of the game. Well, I mean, we're trying to be aggressive and obviously win the football game, but not reckless. And, you know, again, you don't get any do overs, but we'll have to learn from it. You know, stick together. Never just about one guy. I think everybody knows that by now. Yeah, it's a good coach not throwing them under the boss. That was a horrendous throw. I was going to say the exact word that he said. What? I said that all the time. There's a difference between being aggressive and being reckless. Oh, he was reckless. It was still reckless. It was stupid. It was a great interception, too. I was a great interception. The fact that he got both feet in like that. Right. I thought the play loved May too to kind of just bait him into that throw. It was a great pick, also. It was a good pick. He's a good player. The Giants could have really good safeties. They can't McKinney in love. What? They didn't prioritize that position. No, I know. I know. I think we all I think we all fought the same thing though. Once they let him go, it's like that's because they love McKinney. They got to keep McKinney. They'll keep McKinney. They think of the safeties. They've like over I mean, landing Collins left and McKinney left. Love left. I mean, and it's not like you say, well, look at their safeties.

Now they're so good. No. You went on that kind of stink. Well, but that's the thing. It's like if you don't want to spend the money on the position, I understand it. It's like, you know, it's like how you prioritize your spending depending on what the position is. But then you went on gave, you went on, spent money on Holland. That's a lot of money, too. And then McKinney led the league in interceptions. He's considered like the third best safety in all of football. I mean, if you draft the guy and he turns really, really good, maybe even bordering on great, isn't that the exact guy you want to pay? Yeah, especially like one of your locker room leaders also locker room leader, young player. I mean, you just don't probably you say, okay, you then don't prioritize the position. Fine. They're going to just go with young inexperience, no money. And then you spend a fortune on Javon Holland. Yeah. Well, it makes no sense that you don't know that you haven't seen in your locker. Yeah, that make it, that make any sense. I will tell you this though. And this is only going to empower you and your belief in 65 or so. Yeah. I love your head coach. Yeah. How could you not?

I love him. How he talks to me about injuries and stuff. Oh, my God. I said RJ clipped this morning. How he talks to the media. It might be. And then I love when he's like mid-answered. He's like, I don't know if I like how you I don't know if I like how you ask that question. It seemed very come back. Yeah. No, I enjoy it. If the Giants are a bad football team that goes away quickly. If the Giants are really good football team then they just, you know, get stronger and stronger. But that's what's going to matter. Of course, but I mean, he just he he knows. I agree with you. He knows what he's doing. And yeah, I'm very excited for Sunday. I cannot wait for Sunday. Well, you can't be as excited for Sunday night as as Ryan, I are though, right? Well, like, just that's standard for it. Yeah, naturally I can't, but I mean, as far as not having a dog in a fight, I can't I can't imagine being more excited to see what happens and then the Monday. Because it's because Sunday night, like, honestly, are you rooting for the Cowboys or rooting for the Giants? Well, you know, in that division, I root for the Eagles, but no, I know that's your team RJ RJ and I when we used to be close, we root for the same thing.

The best content and you getting smashed by the Cowboys is the greatest content. You little, you got yourself all worked up last time you said last time you had yourself this worked up about the Giants because usually you just dead and was, was the, maybe one of the great drops in the history of the show happened the following day. What which one the pinierro? Yeah, that's what a Roma. He can make every kick Joel Piniero. He can make a whatever his name is Freddie Piniero, whatever pinieros name is. I don't know his name. I give you, I give you so much credit though because in that, in that fit of rage, the fact that you recognize when you said Joel Piniero that you were wrong. Yeah, and it sent you sideways. I was like, wow, I know what the Freddie Piniero, which is also wrong. What's this RJ's any year kicker? It's Eddie. It's Eddie Pinetti. Eddie. Yeah, you're out of letters and different names.

Hey, good too. Eddie. I don't know his name. Do you, do you concur with this animal? You, you look for the best thing for the show and for that, you're rooting for the Cowboys to smash the Giants? I always look for the best thing for the show. You're rooting for the Cowboys to smash the Giants. Well, I think this is win-win regardless because I think if you, I think if, if, if this is the best thing, I think if, if the Cowboys end up even winning let alone smash the Giants. We've seen this before, but we know that's guaranteed good content. Even, even a victory is good because even a victory is great. No, no, no, I'm saying for the, for the Cowboys because even if it's close, then you'll come in positive. Like, hey, my team looked formidable, but by the end of the show, you'll still want to, you know, throw a stapler at Ray. Yes. However, if the Giants win, I, I have not seen that dynamic before. So I am intrigued because I've never seen the Giants have the upper hand on the Cowboys since I've worked with the two of you at the same time. So I'd, I'd be intrigued by that. Yeah, but RJ, let's, let's be honest there for a second.

Yeah. Okay. As as two people that are solely focused on the show and the show only, nasty Dave is much, is much funnier than like gloating happy Dave. Yeah, I'll be funny. I promise. But let, let, let me experience it. Please. Let me experience a giant helping and I'll be so funny. I'll be, I'll, I'll do slapstick comedy. What kind of what do you want? You want like real life comedy? You want like Seinfeld? You want me to be dirty? Shapel? What do you want? I, we can't, we can't help you. Richard Lewis. This is, this is on Jackson, dark. Benny Hill. Your secondary, you mean you name it. Slowing down your guy. George, You're talking about a man. I'm running for the nighters tonight. Why? Because my friend is a nighters fan. It also doesn't affect the show. Correct. The only thing that changes is already is going to wear a red shirt tomorrow. That's it. That's the only thing that changes. Listen, if the giant's wind, I, I, I think it's a plus you the way. But I do think as Rick said, you, you are at your best whether you know it or not, where you, when you're on hint,

Victory Dave is not on hinge. He's just, he's glowing. Remember how excited I was when we beat the Eagles last year? That's what we want. Yeah, but nothing memorable came, I don't even remember it because nothing memorable came. I remember it. Yeah, you want to take my pants off of the giant's wind? What do you want? I don't think Sherry's work will approve. Have you taken your pants off? What do you want? Okay. I don't think Sherry's work will approve. Have you taken your pants off? What do you want? I want. You're a bad guy. I'm not a bad guy. You, you, you are a bad guy. Oh, he wants what's best for you person. No, no, no, no. No, he wants what's best for him. Why can't I want what's best for both of us? Because the giant's losing is not best for me. Right, but it, I mean, you haven't beaten Dex since his rookie year. So what? It doesn't, it doesn't really completely derail your 65 or sooner. No, no, no, if the, listen, there's three levels to this thing. Giant's wind, euphoria, naked or gazmic, you name it would be wild.

Giant's lose a close game, very competitive. They're right there. They lose. Yeah, okay, I'll be upset. I don't want to lose. Ray will bother me. But you'll see positivity. Giant's gets smashed, I'm defeated, defeated, angry and defeated. Right, but I, I created the way that, but I think the schedule the way, if I thought that getting smashed by the cowboys, would have you completely dead inside, then I would root for you to win. Because I don't want you dead inside. So you don't want me to die week two. I think, but I think the way the schedule kind of unfolds here is, even if you start on one two, you got some real winnable games coming up after that. Yeah. Yeah, so you'll be back. Maybe, hopefully, yeah. If you win, if you win, we're going to get caught in like the Saints. Yeah, we're going to get like, oh, this is so great. And let's take phone calls and I love the giant. If anything, Rick has laid out a heroic comeback story.

Yes. You're laying, we need the adversity early. Why do we need, why does anyone need adversity? Because if it was easy day, everyone would be doing this. And that's not meant to be easy. Listen, I knew you might have this tack, but I was just, you know, mind of my own business yesterday. And I came across, no, no, no, this is good for you. I came across two different names of what you, you respect. That thing, the giant took it to be not only like, ready to roll early on the season week one, but a playoff to him. Whoa. I like things my way, my coffee, my schedule, and my treatment. So I talked to my doctor about self-injecting with the VivGuard Hydrolo-Prefilled Surinche, which contains F-Guard Tiga Manalpha and Hyaluronidase QVFC. It's injected under your skin subcutaneously. Would you like to pay off your T's? Oh, I suppose so. Yeah, I guess it wasn't intentional, but it caught my attention. I mean, I'm noticing a growing trend. Now I haven't seen it from you because Rick and I had mentioned that we thought there'd be a growing populace of people that as the season got closer. And then you thought I would jump into this, this, you know, everyone else's bandwagon. You're going to be like the giants are going to be an 11 win team. And they're going to go to the postseason. And I tried to tell you I wouldn't be like that and neither of you believed me.

I stood by my convictions. I did not believe you, but I came across two people respected. Now you know the people both respected, yes. Highly respected. So yesterday after the show, I'm minding my own business just kind of prusing around the old interweb. That's because you were in such a good mood yesterday. Great mood. You were in a better mood yesterday than you were on Tuesday. Yeah, Tuesday night great. No. Yesterday good mood. And came across an article from our buddy, bail barnwell, long article about teams that will be in the playoffs, out of the playoffs. It's got my Niners out. And I get to the bottom of the article and there's a couple other teams from the NFC that are out. And he goes, well, here's who's taking their spots. Don't I come across the New York Giants? It's one of the spots for the wild card. And then, maybe not to the right now. Yeah, it moved. And then later in the day, I hear Peter Schreger, who's going to be a weekly on D.A. Every Wednesday. Oh, that's nice. Yeah, he was on a 330. And do I have permission to play this? What do you mean?

Do you have permission to play this? It doesn't want to get you too excited. You just said it moved. If he plays this, you could have an accident. And I don't know if Sherry has equipped the studio that you're in the out with them. She's got everything in the studio. All right. Schreger, D.H.R. Yesterday, RJ, play it. I do. I think they've got a shot. And you know, the rule in the league is there's four new playoff teams every year at the very bare minimum since the 70s. And a lot of times, teams go from the filler to the top. Now, in this case, with a Giants, you're looking at a team that has just been collecting first round talent over the last few years, especially in the front seven. And there's nothing to really show for it. You have to have dark play as well as you could possibly play. And then you need everything else to fall into place. Neighbors have to be healthy. And those defensive players all have to be studs. I have the Giants as a wild card team. OK. Don's reaction like, OK, like, no, that's unbelievable. You have these are the brightest minds in the NFL. I mean, Bill Barnwell is really smart.

Peter Schreger is as connected and dialed into the NFL as anybody for multiple people to be having shepherds at the same thing. I think Orlovsky said the same thing. Like, there's a real groundswell of the Giants. And I don't want to get there. I don't want to do it yet for me personally. But does a real believe the Giants might be a pretty good football team this year? A pretty good is more along the lines of what you think is going to happen as opposed to very good a playoff team from last the first. Dan yesterday that they would be ten and seven and win a playoff game. I mean, I understand that there's there should be excitement. Right. You just got me you just got a head coach that's that's won a Super Bowl. That's had a ton of success in Baltimore. And now actually feels like knows what the hell he's doing as opposed to what you had. So yeah, there should be excitement. I mean, you saw a lot of good football from Jackson Dart last year. But it's like, okay, if every single thing goes right, if Malik neighbors is healthy, well, we're not sure what Malik neighbors is. We're not. We don't know.

I mean, right now the secondary is. Big question mark. Big question mark. I mean, it sounds like the Ante Banks is your number one corner. The Ante Banks, I have the Giants fan base wanted him cut less season. Right. He was reduced to a returner. I mean, my safety isn't going to be what? Javan Holland and we're back to Jason Pinnick again. Like what? There's some real questions defensively. The Giants defense to me. I think I said yesterday, it's really weird because there's spots like wow. Yeah, like burns. Well, but that's the that's the collection of talent that he's talking about. Yeah, I mean, that's when you look at the players that you're going to mention, you're like, whoa, yeah, we've got some studs on that corner. Our Valries, I think is going to be good. Traumane Edmonds, right? You're like, wow, this they really are. And then you're like, wait, but if they can't stop the run. And if your secondary is not good, there's no way the defense is going to be good. No, and that then there lies the problem. But I think when you look at. So if you want to play that game where it's, you know, four or five teams that didn't make the playoffs, make the playoffs. And then you have from, you know, some teams that go worse the first. I mean, when you look at what happened last season and you start talking about some of the, you know,

the last place teams and divisions. I mean, I don't think anyone thinks the jets are going to go from first from last to first or make the playoffs or the Cleveland Browns or the Raiders or the Arizona Cardinals. So now you're limiting, you know, you're limiting your options. I think the Saints are one of those teams that they seem like a train to go from last to first. I agree. For multiple reasons, right? They could make a jump and the division's not very good. Right. Detroit was last. I mean, at nine and eight were last in the division last year. Right. But it didn't feel like they, I mean, sure they were last, but it doesn't feel like that's a last place team. Right. And Tennessee is the other last place team. Well, they're not going to win the division. So I mean, you don't have many options. No. Detroit feels like the one to me. I, if I had to cuddle Mary Trash, I'd marry Detroit. I'd cuddle New Orleans. I trash the giants. The giants are not winning the division. Right. But if we want to play that game though, we're at least four or five. Okay, let's play that game quickly. And you start looking at the teams that didn't make the playoffs last year that could potentially make the playoffs this year. You got Baltimore didn't make the playoffs.

The Bangles, who's everyone's trendy pick to win the division didn't make the playoffs. I mean, so there are, there are other, like feels like better Dallas didn't make the playoffs last year. Yeah. No, that's, that's a team that could. Detroit. Detroit didn't make the playoffs last year. Right. Tampa didn't make the playoffs last year. Which was amazing. Was the Tampa six and two in a bad division and missed the playoffs? Yeah, they let me Carolina won the division at eight and nine. And then almost beat the Rams and the playoffs remember. Let's quickly go to Danny Long Island. Danny, good morning. You're on ESPN. What's up, buddy? Good morning, guys. We're 50 minutes in. I've already consumed the show three different ways on the app in the shower. MSG with my morning coffee. Now I'm on the radio in the car. By the way, Rick, I got, I got, I got it on this morning. My wife walks by and away to Jim. She takes one look. She goes, who's that? Oh, there you go. You got a fan, Rick. You're telling me that's great. You're the work. You were very fuzzy, Dave. I got to be honest with you. Ricky was crystal clear and looking at shop as always. Your picture wasn't wasn't good. Sorry. Anyway, hey, you, you're just like John Whitrup. Yeah, you do. I am so looking forward to this show.

It's like I said, that's telling the screen of the RJ. You get, it's like. You got a new character showing up on the cast. I got a love sitcom here. We love all you guys. All of a sudden, we have. I'm going to be a little bit more. I'm going to be a little bit more. I'm going to be a little bit more. I'm going to be a little bit more. You got a new character showing up on the cast. I got a little bit more. We love sitcoms. We love all of you guys. All of a sudden, we have. Aaron and Dave is showing up. because I do believe the giants are winning. I have not been Aaron and Dave. No, no, no, you're going, you haven't been. So this is the new character. So now, I mean, if the cowboy has slammed, if the giant slammed the cowboy suddenly, I think it's going to be a fight in the studio. There's no way I'm missing the show on Monday morning because we have a new character that's going to appear that we haven't seen before. And it's going to completely change. it's like an it's like Newman just arrived at this time. I felt the problem anything. You know, this is it's a brand new show. I'm totally pumped up over it. I do believe the Giants can win a lot of games, but like like like that. And now it's just said, well, if the quarterback plays as well as he can and nobody gets hurt and everybody does well,

well, that's the same in every in every room in the NFL right now. I can tell you the Pittsburgh Steelers can make the playoffs if everything goes well and Rogers plays well. And my number one, why receive a place well and everybody stays healthy. Look what happened this I with five plays in. And a million people who took a future's bed on Seattle, who took an under Rover bed on Seattle, who best fantasy during the game. And it's almost over. It might even be over. We might some kind of deep deep injury into the ship where that's that's the if the if they make a right. It's a higher deal. That's a higher deal. We got to run, but that's how quickly one injury, one it now. I mean, every team can basically say that you lose your starting quarterback, your season is done. Done. Yeah, I did. Yes. Like the it feels like the ceiling to what your season could be is probably over. Right. Like you still piece it together. Like you could still be good enough where you maybe could still compete for a division or make it to the playoffs. But I mean, if Sam Donald is lost for the season because he

has to hit surgery. Yeah, you know, you're not winning the division. No, not in that. You're not going to the back to the Super Bowl. You're not you're not competing for anything real. No, you know, by the way, by the way, too, the other team that didn't make the playoffs that you get three you could throw on that list. I can't say chiefs. Right. So I mean, there's a good group of teams that you would point to as being those teams that go from not being in the playoffs to being in the playoffs.
