Harry Potter, JK Rowling, and The Trans Athlete Olympic Ban?

0:00Hi, everybody, and welcome to the show. We have a lot to discuss today. Happy Friday to everybody in the chat. We're gonna be talking about this new Harry Potter HBO TV series and there's a lot to discuss here. This is created a fire on the internet. We're gonna be talking about Black Snape and the RaceWap that's now happening on this show that really switches up the storyline. That's gonna tie in a little bit to a Bridgerton episode. We did this week where they did a race lesbian swap on the show plus actor, a list actor, Andrew Garfield is now coming after JK Rowling and essentially calling her, she who shall not be named because of her views on transgenderism and women's rights. This is creating a whole debate surrounding even watching the Harry Potter series. Plus we have actor Josh Demell coming forward and saying, you know what, we don't need actor's opinions which is really interesting given that we now have this opinion from Andrew Garfield. And lastly, we're gonna be talking about the trans ban at least that's what they're calling it right now.

1:00In the Olympics, and this is supposed to be happening around 20, 28, but the IOC just released their newest guidelines which we'll discuss as this is gonna be like a trans heavy, the trans heavy episode. God say, I wasn't expecting to be continuing to talk about this issue as much as we are on this show, but here we are. And before we get into all those stories, we of course have Taylor in Nashville. Hello everyone, all you filthy little mudbloods out there. Glad to be talking about these issues today. Yeah, we're trying, we don't go out of our way. I feel like to talk about the trans stuff and the racewaps, but I feel like it just keeps happening in culture. So here we are. It really does. I mean, tomorrow we have an episode about like a trans lawyer freaking out in court. This just so happens to be the week where this news is popping up. But first we're gonna start with the Harry Potter remake, which you guys know how I feel about remakes. I'm over the remake hellscape that we're in right now. What, the first Harry Potter movie came out in like 2001. Why are we here again? Why are we here except to form this IP

2:01for probably everything that it's worth. And I think that's why we're making remakes so much right now. We just got an announcement that another 13 going on three is being made. And if you guys remember that movie came out in 2004. Now they're re-upping it. We are just turning out remakes in Hollywood and not giving time or space to original creators, original screenplays, original movies, TV, anything. Now there's images from the new Moana trailer coming out and people are just seeing this production that's devoid of like proper lighting and color. And it doesn't even feel like these remakes are living up to the classics which they're based on. And I wonder if you guys feel the same about Harry Potter. 3:01but I'll be watching. Another 64% of you said I'm tired of remakes. So I won't be watching. 6% of you said I love remakes and I'll be watching and 1% said I love remakes and I won't be watching. So I think in general, when we're looking at the public, we're a little over remakes. It's getting tired, especially when you're turning out content for things that were made what 24, 25 years ago, it's really not necessary. I think we can sit and wait, allow the classics to really sit with us, allow them to become somewhat timeless before we're even testing that by making a remake of it. And it feels like you're just doing it for the grab of it or you're doing it to insert your new politics into this remake. And this becomes especially important when we're talking about Harry Potter and of course JK Rowling. She's put herself in some political conversations and now we have this remake coming out. Now she claims online that she's super excited about this remake that is very much true to the books. But of course, people are bringing up this, okay?

4:03They're bringing up Black Snape. The actor who's been cast in this role, his name is Papa as Seedoo and here's an image of him now taking on that Snape role. I want to take a look at just like the costuming and everything we have going on here. I don't know what this is. This is just like a very modern take on this character to me and I have to say, I am no Harry Potter expert. I've seen maybe three of the films I've read none of the books. Yes, shame me in the comments. But this is not my field of expertise. All I know is, this does not look like him. This does not look like the Snape that I remember and even the book description, they call him pale skin. They say he's salo skinned. They say he has a hooked nose. There's a lot of descriptive features of this particular character that I feel like you're not being met in this show, not to mention the fact that apparently going into this character's storyline, there are some things that when you switch this character to a black character, it starts to feel racial. It starts to feel a little bit racist. He gets bullied by Harry Potter's father back in the day

5:06and one of these bullying sessions, bullying moments is described as him being like lavitated up into a tree, in stuck in a tree, in some sort, you know, when you do that with a black man, it starts to feel a little different. He's also very much othered by people in his upbringing and that's a deep part of his character which feels kind of weird now that he's black because we've racialized so many of our conversations. We've spoken about the black struggle and black power and civil rights. So now when you try to racewap a character in the name of equity and representation, but that character has a very otherwise background, it starts to feel like people are doing it because he's black. And I don't think Harry Potter's dad is supposed to be a racist, but now you're making him look like one. And there's even excerpts from the book here that fans are posting where it says, well, said James, appearing to deliberate the point, it's more the fact that he exists if you know what I mean. Like his existence is problematic. Oh, that doesn't go in your black.

6:09I'm scared. Yeah, there's also, there's a character named Neville Longbottom, that's not a good view, I'll do this one. Who is, you know, they face a creature called a boggirt that turns into whatever you're most afraid of. And he's a most afraid of Professor Snape and he's a white little white kid. And so Professor Snape's gonna come out of the closet as Neville's greatest fear. There's also like a major plot line around Snape as a character. His, he was in love with Harry's mom, spoiler alert, Lily. And Lily kind of friendzones him and rejects him in favor of James. And now you've got the white guy who bullied this black guy is chosen by the white lady and sideline and friendzone by her. So just, you're introducing all kinds of strange dynamics now that are kind of racialized just by virtue of this casting. And the question is, is, is why? What would motivate you to do this? Is it really because, you know, the opportunity that this series

7:10presented was to create a more faithful adaptation to the books because now you have more, you can take your time, you can go chapter by chapter if you want or make like a longer series and go into more detail of what's actually represented. And then that's why I think there's so much backlash to this casting just because it immediately undercuts that opportunity. And people were already skeptical of this. Like Harry Potter fan, I'm more of a Harry Potter fan than you obviously, but people were already skeptical when they heard of this remake because there is kind of a remake fatigue right now. And there's also, we've just watched over and over again with like properties like Star Wars and even like Amazon's Lord of the Rings adaptation. They're just kind of not really capturing the original magic. It's not really about the OG source material continuing it on. They're just taking in these weird directions that don't seem to resonate in these kind of like more profound universal classic hero's journey type of ways. So when we heard of this new Harry Potter adaptation

8:10as first as like, A, this is too soon. B, like no one really asked for this. The movies are still, you know, the last one only came out but 2009, 2012 something like that. So they're not even that long in the past and they hold up, you know, perfectly well. I'd much rather see and people were calling for this. Like, let's get a series on the marauders. Let's get a series on like, you know, unlike in the Lord of the Rings and whatever. Like they'll author still alive and she can be involved in these. So let's, let's get her involved in telling different stories and different facets of the lore. And instead, you go for this like remake of the books, which we just had all these movies come out and then you're already kind of like complicating and making, putting a barrier between the audience and the lore and the source material. And now I'm going to, I'm the one that has to be acting instead of you. And I have to act like this is the snake that I read about in the books. Yeah, and it's hard because, you know, a lot of people say on its face, it doesn't matter if you race off a character like this, they can get over the certain moments in the original source material where things might look a different way, but you really are not being faithful.

9:11It's not a faithful adaptation. And I do like to think, you're seeing the trailer for this that it looks way better than I thought it would and that JK Rowling has been heavily involved in this project. So maybe that's going to be the saving grace of everything that's about to come out now. But we see this happen time and time again. And there's something to be said for just giving people what they expect and what they've read and what they love. And we saw this recently with Bridgerton. Bridgerton has announced its season five. And season five is going to be surrounding a character Francesca Bridgerton. Now she is meant to in the books, fall in love with a man by the name of Michael Sterling, a white man by the name of Michael Sterling. They've switched out this character for now, Michaela Sterling, who is not only not a white man, she's a black woman. So now this becomes a lesbian story arc here. And a lot of people sort of retorted back and said, well, that's totally fine. You can switch the character. It doesn't really mean anything to the story. And it does change from what people expected and what the book lovers wanted to see.

10:11And that's something to be said there. A lot of you pointed out in the comments, which I did not know this, that Francesca featured here, this character, is meant to fall in love with Michael Sterling. And she's also meant to go through an infertility struggle and a miscarriage. And that's pivotal to her role. It's pivotal to her character development. And now, because you've replaced this character, Michael, with Michaela, which how lazy is that, you're going to get rid of this pivotal piece of the storyline. And it can imagine, with Harry Potter, that they're not going to have to get rid of some of these pieces of his past, or at least rebrain those pieces of his past, due to the fact that you've changed the race of this character. So we're not really adhering to what makes the book great, which is the original writing. But I guess, I don't know, J.K. Rowling seemed to be OK with this change. Who knows how much say she had in the overall changes that were made for that particular character. And a lot of people are pointing out, which we have to do, just take Adam Driver. Adam Driver's standing right there.

11:13He's right there. And he would be perfect for this role. Who knows if he would even take up this role? But I mean, just look at him. And he's a fantastic actor. I mean, a fantastic actor. He would have bodied the role of state. And he was overlooked for a race walk, which really makes no sense, not only for the fact that it doesn't match the description, but now the storyline, it seems, is going to have to change. You know, if they really stick by the storyline and originally what happens with this character and is upbringing, I would be very shocked. It would be shocking to see. And I do wonder how people will interpret it if they show it. Because I don't know. I don't think that's going to land well. What's so ever? OK, but now we're on the audience to react the right way, and we've seen this a couple of times where you make these kind of agenda-driven decisions. And then you gaslight the audience into saying, like, this is just normal. This is just the best casting. This is just the creative expression. It doesn't matter. Well, if it doesn't matter, then why are we forcing this? And then when you get back last year,

12:14you tell the audience that they're being racist or they're being discriminatory or bigoted in some way. And that was what happened with the Star Wars, the act light, which we reacted to plenty on this channel. The Lord of the Rings adaptation from Amazon. So we've seen this thing before. And I'm trying to be open-minded and reserve judgment and all that. But it's just hard because not only is a remake fatigue, but there's fatigue of this kind of agenda-driven revisions in these remakes. Yeah, and I'm getting actor fatigue. Actor, political take, fatigue, which leads us to our next point here, Andrew Garfield. Andrew, Andrew, pretentious Garfield is now coming into the conversations around the JK, Rowling, surrounding her views on trans rights, women's rights. And of course, he's going to have a leftist take on the matter. I'll read the quote here before we get into his video. Deanna Radcliffe is really good in the Harry Potter films. The films are really good. I know it's controversial. And we shouldn't be putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislations right now through who shall remain nameless.

13:17So it's funny, she's even leaning on some of what JK Rowling wrote in her original Harry Potter books, calling her who shall remain nameless. But there are so many beautiful artists that worked on those films. Now let's hear it from the horses mouth here in Andrew Garfield. And like Daniel's so goddamn good. And honestly, I hadn't watched the Harry Potter since all recently. I do know. No, and he's really good in those Harry Potter movies. That's Harry Potter movies are really good. They're good. Yeah. I'm excited. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it's like controversial. And like we shouldn't be, you know, putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through she's the shall remain nameless. But the soul and the spirit of a lot of the essence of the themes of those films and the kids of soapy and all the artisans and the craft people and the I'm working with a wonderful makeup artist there right now who was working the creature workshop. And I'm just like, oh man, we can't throw the baby out

14:18with the bath water. Like there are so many beautiful artists that that worked on those films. Anyway, I have a newfound appreciation for all of the artists. Yeah. And Daniel Aglif, just. Daniel's great. Daniel's so, and then like that. All of the artists except she who shall not be named, who is responsible for the very thing that she were able to consume. And so beautifully so might I add. And it's interesting because he says he doesn't want to contribute to inhumane legislation in having watched and consumed the Harry Potter books or having consumed the movies. Meaning he doesn't want any of that money to be funneled to JK Rowling, the creator of this piece of art. And when you look into the legislative inhumanity of JK Rowling, let me give you just a little bit of baseline for what that means. So she's backing the legal challenges for women who are fighting for their rights, fighting for their spaces, their privacy, women who have been wronged by the system with all of this transgender bullshit that's happening right now. She is using her own money, the money that she's gotten

15:20from Harry Potter to fight those battles for those women. She's backing legal challenges against the Scottish prison service for the placement of trans women in prison facilities that are for biological women. And we've seen this issue take place here in my state of California, but just in the US at large in New Jersey, we had two female prison inmates pregnant because they allowed a trans-identified woman into the prison system. And guess what? They subsequently had sexual interactions with that individual. The Times of India reports that her support for legal challenges ultimately saw that the UK Supreme Court defined women as a biological female. And that's of course a decision that JK Rowling widely celebrated on her social media and on her platforms. She's fighting the good fight for women's rights, women's spaces, women's definitions, and their biology. She's also fought against the Scotland's hate crime act. You'll remember that Scotland put forward this hate crime act, and I believe 2024.

16:20And they essentially said, you can call the Scottish police and you can report hate crimes against transgender identifying individuals and we will take this very seriously. And the wake of that act being passed, thousands upon thousands of people called to reports JK Rowling. They were journalists doing it. They were everyday citizens doing it because she simply wants to define a woman as a biological woman. She wants to keep women's spaces. She wants to stop women from being victimized, sexually assaulted, experiencing violence. And she wants to stop those crimes from being categorized as female crimes when a biological man who identifies as a woman commits those crimes. These are righteous fights, at least in my opinion. I guess Andrew Garfield does not think the same. And you know what, JK Rowling did when she was getting thousands of people calling on this hotline to report her as a hate crime. She said, arrest me. Lock me up, lock me up, put me in the clanker, okay? And hopefully not with somebody who's a trans-identified woman, a man pretending to be a woman.

17:21So she's doing all that. Plus she's fighting the legal battles of everyday women who find themselves in the throes of this ridiculous movement. And now, pretentious little Andrew Garfield wants to say, well, I'll consume this wonderful piece of art that she's created, but I don't want to send any money to, oh my gosh. Give me your break. We're over it. And he joins a long list of actors who have come after JK Rowling. Emma Watson at this point, Daniel Radcliffe, John Lithgo, and John Lithgo's in her show right now, playing Dumbledore, who's meant to be this wise, righteous character who really guides the storyline. And it's a paternal figure who has so much wisdom and he bestows upon the other characters in this realm and in this fantasy. And then here he is calling out JK Rowling, the creator of this beloved character for her inhumanity. It's getting tired, getting tired. My favorite tweet I saw about this, I can't remember who said it,

18:21but it was basically to the effect of, people are going to be saying JK Rowling's name and reading her books a hundred years from now. And Andrew Garfield is going to be the wrong answer to a Spider-Man trivia question. I suppose pretty savage. But yeah, to say like, oh, we can't throw out the baby with the bathwater and implicating that JK Rowling is the bathwater here and the baby is the actors that whose career she created by creating this epic story that identified with so many people such that there's theme parks and multiple remakes of her films within the span of 20, 25 years. She's the baby, they're the bathwater, if anything. It's so interesting because I've walked at like old interviews of Andrew Garfield and want to say pretentious. I mean, pretentious. That's the word that consistently pops up in my mind. He's like referred to himself in relation to being like a lifesaver like a doctor or a medical practitioner and has said that his job is just as important because he's a storyteller yet he's throwing storytellers under the bus for I guess political takes that he disagrees with, which is fine that you disagree with these political takes.

19:23But the way in which you're going about this and to not really give voice to exactly why the JK Rowling is where she stands on this issue, it just feels like it's a little ignorant to me. And to refer to her is like she who shall not be named, way to put the power like on her end of the court there because that empowers her even more. We all know who you're talking about. So in the same way that that gives, I guess, Voldemort and the story, this sort of powerfulness that surrounds him in a more evil sense than with JK Rowling, we all know who you're talking about. And you're making her more powerful in talking about her and discussing her in this way and you're driving more people to her cause. So thank you for that. But of course, there's a lot of conversations surrounding trans lives and Harry Potter. People are posting things like this in response to all this. Trans lives are more important than Harry Potter, trying to urge people not to watch the show and engage with this HBO series.

20:24And we saw people try to do the same with what Hogwarts legacy, that game that came out and then it ended up being the number one game of the year. The people in just can't stay away from the creations of JK Rowling and you know what? Good for her. And I like that she's using her money to do something for this movement that it really speaks to her. And you know what? These actors are going to keep coming out of the work after her, after her, after her. I'm not surprised by this whatsoever. But it's bringing up the discussion as to whether or not actors should even be giving their political takes at all. Because it is happening a lot now. And you know what? I'm fine. Pure and after you have a platform and you have something you want to say and it's important to you, it's important to you. By all means, go ahead and say what you're going to say but we are open for criticizing those statements and what you claim to be standing by. I just wondered to myself, where in society did we pedestalize actors to this degree? It's unbelievable. I mean, how we treat their movies, their projects, the endless award shows every single year

21:25just to award like, you know, golden statues to this particular profession. And we hang on to every single bit of word that they have to say on any side of the political spectrum. So I do find that very interesting. And I think about that a lot as somebody who does look into the political statements of these individuals. Now recently, this comes to a head as Josh Demel goes on Megan Kelly. He's an actor as well. I know him best from Safe Haven, which I love that movie. We love Safe Haven. OK, and he had this to say about actors giving their opinions as an actor who chooses typically to not give his opinion. It's a good message for a lot of people in the entertainment business these days. I just feel like, you know, because you have a platform doesn't mean that you get to preach to everybody. Thank you. Tell that to the Oscars. I think I honestly believe that, you know, it's very fortunate to be in this position. And I spend a lot of time in the Midwest. So I get to see what they actually think about, you know, us.

22:26And they're not afraid to tell me. And, you know, I had this, I'll never forget this. I was going to play golf with a buddy in Georgia about 10 years ago. And he meets me at the airport with a t-shirt that says, nobody cares what actors think. And I was like, damn, that's really funny. That's really good. And that always stopped with me because it's true. I mean, my job, and I don't, that's why I don't really take, I don't really, I have real strong opinions about things, but I don't really talk about it because it's like, why? You know, why would I, you know, alienate half my audience? Because I respect that. I respect your opinions and things. But I'm not going to preach to them. They can believe what they're going to believe. I'm just here to, you know, make cool stuff. If you really want to be successful in this business, why would you make half of your audience despise you by your political beliefs? Maybe they don't care.

23:26I don't know. I mean, I look at it as a business decision. You know, I want, I want, I'm here just to make cool movies, cool TV, I'm here to make cool stuff. And that's my, I'm a court jester, you know. If I want to, if I want to preach to you about what I believe politically, I'll go run for office, which I'm not going to do, by the way. Yeah, and it's really interesting that these actors do consistently tell you what's to think and feel, award show season is basically a time for lectures from these individuals where they had it on the red carpet. They put on the pin for the movement of the moment and then they tell you what you need to be doing to be a good person. I do wonder how we so quickly ushered ourself into that space. And he talks about alienating yourself from half the audience that watches your movies. And while I do think that's true, I feel like it doesn't stop any of these actors from gaining traction because they are propped up by the studios and corporations that also support this messaging. And consistently, we watch as Hollywood becomes woker and woker and woker.

24:27And the movies that come out are consistently devoid of any originality. They're just remakes of previous things that we've already loved. And now are just shallow and a shell of what they once were. But that shell is stuffed with left leaning propaganda and leftist politics. So I really don't think it matters so much that these actors come forward and they alienate their audiences because people still keep watching and the studios don't care. In fact, they probably support the actors and they're endeavor to just push further this leftist agenda. But I do wonder when the shift truly took place. And that's something that I need to look into a little bit more because we all feel it. Yeah, I know that it's happening. Everything seems increasingly politicized in the last 20, 25 years, for sure. But we know that in these casting rooms and whatnot, if you have beliefs that don't toe the line,

25:28you need to stuff them down, don't say anything. And otherwise, you should be parodying the beliefs that you're supposed to have, the Hollywood right think. And that your career will be uninhibited. What Zachary Levi has come out and talked a lot about that kind of stuff where you get punished and with missing opportunities and roles, if you're outspoken about beliefs that don't coincide with what is considered the right opinion in Hollywood. And look, I'm with you. Like if an actor chooses to calculate the risk and understand and comes out with the humility of look, I pretend to be other people for a living on camera and I may do that well or not. But also, I feel passionately about the certain issue I know that my job and fame doesn't give extra weight to my opinions, but I'm offering my opinion in a calculated risk kind of way. Like, okay, fine, I can respect that. But when they come out and say, you should listen to me because I'm famous and with the energy of like my opinion carries more weight

26:29just because I'm a famous actor. That's where I'm like, okay, we need to chill in that a little bit. I feel like especially in like some of the younger Hollywood like the Rachel Zugglers. And what we saw like Oscars, Javier Bardem, with his big pins and stuff like that, it's just like, that's a different energy and that's where you need Rick at your base to come in and say, you know, accept your award and F off. That's so true, that is the distinction. They do believe their opinions mean more and it often is like coupled with this fuck you to people who disagree with me. Let's not forget that point that it is coupled with this deep, disdain in hatred for the regular everyday people that may disagree with their like silver spoon leftist opinion. And it's very interesting because when you hear an actor like Josh Demel say, I'm not going to share my political opinion, it's just not my job and it's just not my space. I think most people are going to interpret that as he's right leaning. And I see a lot of comments saying, oh, well, this is Josh Demel coming out as MAGA, this is Josh Demel coming out as conservative. It's not, although it's strange that like not sharing your opinion and not wanting to be this person

27:30who like gets in to a divide with your audience means signals to people that you are conservative these days. And that should say a lot. That should say a lot. Not only that society has ostracized conservative so much that they don't want to come forward and say their opinions, especially if they're in Hollywood, but also that like a stance of neutrality on politics and not coming forward and not feeling the need to consistently plaster yourself with your political take is now associated with conservatism. I think in Chris Pratt, Cindy Sweeney, those are two big examples of people that haven't come out strong on one side or the other, but yet people assume that they're these MAGA people just because they're not very outspoken. Or like Cindy Sweeney, I saw posted like a story supporting her brother who's deployed in the military right now. And you know, of course that's like people read between the lines that that's some kind of endorsement of Trump or the war or anything like that. But it's not just being normal is enough to implicate you in, you know, some politicalness because of how slanted the landscape is. 29:31Boom, label is maga. Kira Knightley laughs at a question about the trans issues and JK Rowling stands on the issue, boom, conservative, boom, maga. The accusations come forward. It's just insane that this is like the vice grip that people have on celebrities' minds at this point and what they're supposed to think and what they're supposed to feel. And we're never at a loss when it comes to celebrities just giving their opinion without us asking for it. Now quickly, we'll get into Elizabeth Banks and she's been speaking out against the Save Act. This is what actors do. They prop up their iPhone. They film the little video that says the thing that they need to save for the time. And sometimes we get a little like montage or a collage of them singing the song with us. Like we did the celebrity imagined video. We always get something different. Now Elizabeth Banks is coming out against the Save Act. I know her from like pitch-perfect Hunger Games, which we love Hunger Games, okay? And she's talking about this idea of voter ID

30:34and coming out against this idea of mandating voter ID even though virtually like every other well-run country in the world. And even poorly-run countries in this world have voter ID for their elections. She apparently has a problem with that. And let's see why. Guys, the Save Act, stop it. You gotta stop it. Stop it. It's not gonna hurt anybody, stop it. Look it, I'm gonna show you who it hurts. So this is my birth certificate. I actually have two copies. They're so old. I was born in Pisfield, Massachusetts. Here's my California driver's license, which says Elizabeth Banks. Now she flashes that really quickly because I feel like she doesn't want to show. Obviously her driver's license to the world but I do believe that's a real ID. Now a lot of places are like mandating real ID. You go to the airport now, they're gonna say,

31:34by this date, you're gonna have to have a real ID or whatever. I believe if you have real ID and you go to vote because you had to in order to get the real ID substantiate your citizenship here in the United States, you will be able to vote. So she's already Gucci, she's good. She's good, she can head to the polls and vote. Obviously, because that's the name that I go by and I had to legally change my name. Can I tell you something? I'm not even sure which state I legally changed my name and I think it was New York, it might have been California. The point is it was 27 years ago that that happened. Well, let's figure out where we were living 27 years ago and then we'll get the document about the name change. Like this is not the most difficult thing in the world to do especially somebody of her means. And now she's trying to step into this narrative that even lowly little me Elizabeth Banks won't be able to vote, won't be able to vote in the presidential election because of this ID, debacle or whatever. It takes maybe a little bit of effort to get some of these documents. Maybe you already have them. You just gotta find them in your house and dust them off a little bit and go and be able to vote.

32:37Nonetheless, you are capable of making these things happen. In New York City, when Mayor Mamdoni was trying to hire the average New Yorker, the average dough, to go and shovel snow in the street after the snow storm, what did they need two forms of ID? Just to allow you to shovel snow and shit from the streets. So if you want to vote in our elections to keep them fair, you should probably have voter ID. And I would have to go find that paperwork to I guess show someone why these two things don't match. But here's the thing, they just don't match and they're never gonna match. And let's not the thing because you did actually fill out paperwork at some point in your life and you went through the system. So that's the reason why these things don't match. And we're gonna have a record of that because that's how it works. And you can find that record. Not to mention you have real ID. Not gonna match for a lot of people. Oh, but Elizabeth, you have a passport. You're right, I'm rich and famous, I have a passport. That's right, I travel.

33:37How many millions of Americans do not have a passport? Passports cost $100 and something to get. That is a poll tax, it's unconstitutional. We are not gonna require people to go get a passport to vote. This is a right enshrined in the constitution. Stop making it harder for people to vote. Start making it easier. We know who benefits and who doesn't. Stop it. So start making it easier for people to vote. Like, who is it difficult to vote for right now? Who's really struggling? If anything, we're making it a little too easy, I think. According to some of the different reports that are coming in with people committing acts of fraud through our voting system. I don't think we need to make it easier. I think we need to make sure people are documented. And that doesn't necessarily mean making this more difficult. It just means streamlining a system that we're in the same way that other countries are doing so to keep their elections fair. I think we're literally talking about the bare minimum here. Like identify yourself that you are legitimately a citizen

34:39of the country in whose politics you are trying to influence. It's very, very simple. And we require ID, do my cigarettes, to fly, to do so many simple things in society. And yet now the sudden we're up in arms. And it only lends credence to the suspicion that you are attempting to drive illegitimate votes and incentivize illegitimate votes or use those to your advantage or that you're opposing this kind of legislation because it helps you get illegitimate votes toward the power that you so crave. I saw recently on X2, a woman who was responding to a lot of these narratives out there that this is so hard for married women or blah, blah, blah. And she was able to get a renewed copy of her social security card, driver's license and her marriage certificate all for under $50 and within a week or something like that. Just not that difficult.

35:41And even so, I mean, you're right. I think we could stand to make voting more difficult in general, like have a citizenship test, maybe a language test, that raised the voting age. You could have some actual standards here. A lot of the founders, there was a debate among the founders of like in Britain, they had the House of Lords and Commons and we have the Senate and House of Representatives and that's kind of reflective of this idea that like more educated or aristocratic people should be given slightly more weight in the governance of the country if you actually understand the theory of governments and if you have stake in the economy by having a business or only property things like that, no, that was perceived as a leaders and we went toward more democratic and that's fine and good. But to go completely toward, we should lower the common denominator to the absolute lowest possible thing to where you're not even a citizen of this country. That's swung maybe a little bit further in the opposite direction. They're too far.

36:41Yeah, 100% like you should at least understand what it is you're voting for, what it is you're doing and you should be able to identify yourself. I mean, you can't ask for much more than that. It's just ridiculous that we cannot possibly ask that of people without this massive, massive backlash in controversy in regards to that. It's just it absolutely blows my mind. So Elizabeth, I mean, through your very video you proved that you have the means and faculties to pull together the identification necessary to vote. I don't think it was the dunk that she thinks it is and her trying to claim that I'm just, I had a struggle with this too and I would have the same issue as every other American had I not been rich and famous with a passport. It's just, it's bullshit. It's full stop bullshitting, please. And like look at any other country where they demand and mandate that you have voter ID and things are going well and people are not up in arms saying that black people and married women are disenfranchised by this and think about what you're saying

37:43when you say that. Okay, now next, we're going to move on from celebrities now. The Olympics has some news. The Olympics is now not going to be allowing transgender women to compete in female categories, shocker. This is just stunning and brave. We're going to get into this article from NBC News says transgender women athletes are now excluded from the Olympics after the IOC agreed to a new eligibility policy on Thursday, which aligns with US President Donald Trump's executive order on women sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Quote eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports is now limited to biological females says the International Olympic Committee determined on the basis of a one time S or Y gene screening. Now it's not said, how many individuals this is going to end up affecting as of now no women assigned male at birth competed

38:45at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. But this is a safeguard from the future turmoil and back and forthness that we can have on this particular issue. And I see a lot of people saying this is a non-issue, it's not even happening, nobody's even meddling. Okay, if it's a non-issue, let's just go ahead and place the rule in place to just make sure everybody's safe and everybody's cool from future. Let's just go ahead and agree that biological males have an advantage over women, and that maybe they should not competing be competing against women in the Olympics. Now here's a video from the head of the IOC. The scientific evidence is very clear. Male chromosomes give performance advantages in sports that rely on strength, power or endurance. At the Olympic Games, even the smallest margins can be the difference between victory and defeat. So it's absolutely clear that it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category. In addition, in some sports, it would simply not be safe.

39:51Every athlete must be treated with dignity and respect, and athletes will only need to be screened once in their lifetime. The IOC recognizes the importance of widespread participation in grassroots and recreational sports programs, and the impact that sport has in society. However, the Olympic Games has a focus on elite sport, and in elite sport, we must ensure the fairness, safety and integrity of all competitions within the Games. So there you have it. These rules will go into effect in the 2028 Olympic Games, and this is showing death and death in respect, I think, to female athletes everywhere, regardless of the current state of competition. I love that they're finally acknowledging biological men have an advantage over biological women. It is simply a fact doesn't matter. That's what the science shows us and has shown us for a long time. So oftentimes people are saying this is really invalidating to women. Women are just as strong as men.

40:51They're just as capable as men. But there's a reason we have female categories in sports, because it's just simply not the case, and it doesn't translate to sports. It doesn't translate to strength and athleticism. That is just the truth. Me, a 25-year-old female could get my ass beat in any sport by probably somebody at the age of 13, who's a boy, probably 12, let's be honest. And even if I was a professional athlete, we've seen time and time again, that when even young males enter the space of adult female athletes, they have a little bit more athleticism than they do, and that's not to invalidate women or to invalidate the accolades that women have brought among themselves and have accomplished. It's actually to make sure that that continues. It's actually to make sure that women have their space. It's to make sure that they have their opportunity. So now some athletes are coming forward and they're saying they have problems with this. We have an athlete with an named Nikki Holtz. She's a transgender non-binary Olympian, and she's spoken out against what she's calling an anti-trans policy. Saying, quote, I don't know who needs to hear this,

41:51but zero trans women competed in the Paris Olympics, only one trans woman weightlifter competed in Tokyo 2021, and she did not win a medal. Can we please stop obsessing over trans people? And I don't know, maybe focus our time, energy and resources into real problems that women's sports face. It was a real problem that women's sports was facing. You know what? We'll allow us to focus our time, energy and resources on the real issues of women is to distinctly define what women are and to say that women have their own space going forward. Because when we start blurring the lines and allowing men to enter these spaces, allowing men to compete against women, allowing men to bring their issues, their struggles, their resources even into female spaces. It's no longer about women. It becomes a different debate. It becomes a different conversation and women are ostracized. They're others. They're discriminated against for the sake of allowing men into this space. So if you really want to focus your time, energy, your resources on women's issues, first tell me what a woman is. Make sure it's defined and allow them to have their space. And you know what? This is a transgender and non-binary Olympian,

42:54which I don't even know what that means at this point. I don't even know what that means. We're born as. So I don't even know what this person has to say in the conversation about women. Looks like he slash she is, they is a biological woman. I don't even know what's going on here. And that amount of confusion alone in the conversation stops us from spending our time and resources on women's issues. Now interestingly enough, you know, I do feel bad for trans athletes that want to compete and they can't, you know, have society bent to your whim and go and compete where you want to compete. But that's the reality for safeguarding women. You don't get to do that. But you know what? You get to live in the identity that you choose and we in every other way in this world. We allow for all this sort of stuff to happen. Women's sports is not one of those places. And I'm looking for the same when it comes to the bathroom. I'm looking for the same when it comes to the definition of what a woman is.

43:55I'm looking to protect women in every way shape or form from gender ideology when it comes to things like this and men trying to step into that space. Now JK Rowling has come up again in relation to this Olympics conversation. Here's what she had to say. Today's ruling by the IOC means a welcome return to fair sport for women and girls. But I'll never forget the scandal of Paris 2024 when people who consider themselves supremely virtuous and progressive publicly cheered on men punching women. And this is a photo of Iman Khalif or Iman Khalif JK Rowling really brought forward the conversation about this particular athlete who has like a genetic anomaly going on where they are in fact, biologically male, but there are some female reproductive parts growing on this individual. Now they've been fighting women, biological women as a biological male, which I think we can all agree hopefully

44:57is not okay given the force, the power, the strength that men typically have over women. Now it was a huge debate as to the identity of this particular individual. They identify as a biological woman when they are in fact a biological male. They are not technically trans and never claimed to be trans. They were just somebody who was scientifically masquerading as a woman and being allowed to fight other women. And it's pretty clear when you watch some of these fights you had female fighters saying they'd never fought somebody so strong, they'd never experienced something like this. Some of them stepping out of the fight because of the strength of this biological man against them. And in no place in our society would we ever look at a man beating up a woman and think that that's okay. But because of this gender ideology we were allowing that to take place. Now JK Rowling called that out and of course she's being called transphobic even though this particular athlete was not even technically trans. You have people tweeting to this day. I will never forget the way she bullied and harassed

45:57Amanda Leif who isn't even trans Rowling is a person full of hate and bitterness. But nothing to be said of the people that allowed women to get their asses beat by a man. And then those women coming out and saying that felt like getting my ass beat by a man which is not okay. And we've seen this in so many different sports. I'm trying to think like surfing, boxing, volleyball, cycling, track, swimming, over and over. We've seen this trans athlete, it's trans women in particular, enter the female space, dominate women, take their awards, take the money that is supposed to come with these awards, the scholarship is meant to come with these awards and it has to end. Neal Olympics is one way to put a hold on that. We heard for a long time with the NCAA swimming thing and Leot Thomas had Olympic dreams and wanted to be in the pool with the other female Olympians. Looks like no, looks like that's not gonna happen.

Like when you're watching a woman get pelted in the face by a biological man and then congratulating yourself for being so open-minded and progressive and calling anyone who opposes this a bigot. Like I think we've reached toxic levels of empathy there. And again, where's the empathy for the actual victims in this case? And you mentioned some of these examples we've seen over the years like Peyton McNabb getting brain damage from taking a volleyball to the face at the hands of a trans athlete, Paula Scanlon being subjected to watching biological males change in front of her in the locker room and being exposed to that in her space. Rather than having her opportunities and shots at championships or higher achievements

49:03being stolen by the likes of Lea Thomas. So there are real victims when you adopt this mentality of toxic empathy. And it also has echoes of the same mechanics that we see with the grooming gangs or rate gangs in the UK where we're so quote unquote empathetic toward like, oh, we need to let in all these different communities and migrants and people and things like that. And then we refuse to hold anyone accountable when they're actually guilty of doing atrocious things to innocent people. And by doing that, we are punishing innocent people and letting these guilty people off the hook. And so we should just be grounded in reality and truth and justice and just do the right thing in these situations. And sometimes that doesn't feel nice to absolutely everybody but we have to go with what is actually just and what actually corresponds with reality and good governance. Yeah, and it's just about time. I mean, for how long could we continue to have this conversation if somebody just goes?

50:04And I like that they're saying that, you know, very neutrally, this is not a political stance on the issue, it's just what the science says. The science says, if you have meal chromosomes, you're probably gonna be far, far outpacing the women who are in the category next to you. And with that being said, with how, you know, close cuts from these limbic competitions are, you just can't compete against women when they're at the peak of their career. And just the minutia of every single movement that they make out their changes, the outcome of some of these competitions. So we can't allow something in advantage that is by no means minutia to be competing against these women. And it doesn't need to be this awful, transphobia, human rights, you know, conversation. It's just the simple fact that, you know, despite your struggle with gender dysphoria and despite your new identity, you have an advantage and you can hopefully acknowledge that and they can acknowledge that in the system, can acknowledge that by not allowing you to compete.

52:09race-swapping, I guess, at least in this iteration, but maybe, you know. Which is so fascinating, because I feel like that's a character that's pretty like right for race-swapping. I don't know that his race really impacts too much his storyline. You'd have to let me know as a Harry Potter stand. Well, I just, they're constantly described as being like this fiery red-headed family. So, I mean, it would very clearly fly in the face, but there's not like plot points that necessarily revolve around his redheadedness. That's just kind of a physical description that's really emphasized. Whereas, you know, snake, it's not that, like, there's plot points that revolve around his race, but it's that by introducing these new racial dynamics through the casting, you are painting or changing the way that it's going to be perceived by the audience and putting the burden now in the audience to like discount that and get past it, but you have this visual barrier of like a white guy bullying a black guy on screen or whatever. So, you know, there's less theoretically a problem with recasting a Ron Weasley or race-swapping, but also just again, why would you do that?

53:09You know, and it would just be out of this kind of agenda. So. Yeah, I watched the stage play, which I forget what the name of that stage play is. Yeah, the first child and Hermione is black in both like child form and of course, adult form in that play. And it doesn't change much really. So, I could see that I was surprised that they didn't do that with this iteration. And I know a lot of people had issues with the Hermione race for this TV show. She looks like Hermione to me and she sounds like her to me. So, I mean, it's great. It's good though, actress. She's got kind of the big teeth. Someone did point out that like there's a story element of like Draco Malfoy calling her mud blood. And so if you're calling like a brown person mud blood, there's a little bit of like, that's kind of weird. But this not as as in your face is like the character. You look like the character. And that's what that's what you do. You know, if you if you cast this pop a guy and then you painted him white and had that slick back, that black slick back, you know what? He could be the character, but you didn't do that.
