GTA 6 Extended Look Tops Netflix Top 10 Chart in First Week

1:03showed rough sketches of various Disney characters facing off in battle. It sparked the idea that Disney had possibly toyed with a crossover fighting game, something that Christensen has now confirmed. Speaking with Time Extension in a September 1st interview, Christensen opened up about the surprising way Kingdom Hearts helped bring the idea to life, though it ultimately never came to fruition. In fact, it was difficult for Kingdom Hearts to get approved in the first place as Disney execs were hesitant to combine some of the brand's most iconic properties. Unfortunately, this game never came to be. Time Extension reports the project only reached the prototype stage before Disney ditched the idea in favor of movie and TV tie-in games. Christensen's artwork showed 1v1 battles between eight different characters, Captain Hook vs. Beast, the Sheriff of Nottingham vs. King Louis, Ursula vs. John Silver, and the Queen of Hearts vs. The Horned King. 2:06Next, nothing screams Fortnite like the peasants revolved with 1381, am I right? Fortnite and Focus features announced Wednesday that the new movie, The Uprising, starring Andrew Garfield, is now available to play as a custom experience on Fortnite. Ahead of the Paul Greengrass directed films theatrical release on September 10th. Even for Fortnite, which has a long history of pop cultural collaborations including Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Lego, The Witcher, Godzilla and Kong, Stranger Things, John Wick, and Back to the Future, The Uprising is a curious film to cross over with. The period drama, which may or may not still be a Robin Hood origin movie, Chronicles the peasants revolt of 1381, which was led by historical figures Wat Tyler played by Shogun's Cosmo Jarvis, and John Ball played by Jamie Bell. Andrew Garfield's lead character, Plowman, is meant to represent the every man peasant pushed by misfortune into taking up arms against the crown.

3:08Fortnite and Focus say the Uprising experience culminates in film-inspired cinematic endings unique to each outcome, allowing players to uncover another layer of the Uprising story whether they emerge victorious as rebels or successfully defend the Kingdom as Kingsman. And Mario Kart fans with more than three friends rejoice! Nintendo has conjured up an eight-player split-screen mode for Mario Kart 8 to Lux on Switch 2. The free update is available now. The mode carves up the usual four-player split one more time, resulting in eight portrait style windows. You'll just need eight controllers and enough seating for you in seven rivals. Nintendo also notes Mario Kart 8 to Lux on Switch 2 will be able to use Camera Play, which adds your friends' face on screen as you race them. Keep note that Camera Play is only available with two to four players. The update also comes with enhanced visuals and brings shorter load times.

4:11Grand Theft Auto 6 and extended-look-dominated Netflix's Top 10 Chart in its first week in the English film category, racking up 31.1 million views in its first week, beating the second-place film on the list, The Robert De Niro, Adam Scott and Michelle Monahan Thriller The Whisper Man, which pulled in 23.2 million views. Worth noting is that GTA 6 handily beat its Netflix competition despite not debuting until Thursday. The reporting period was from August 24 through 30th. All data comes directly from Netflix. The streamer notes that Netflix counts a view as one full runtime equivalent of watch time. Netflix defines a view as the total hours viewed for a title divided by its runtime. So one household watching a 27 minute video twice looks the same in Netflix's math as two households each watching at once. They no doubt mention this since YouTube counts a view the moment a video starts to play. And so far on Rockstar's official YouTube channel, the GTA 6 extended-look has 19.4 million

5:16views when the story was recorded. On the TV side, death of the pastor's wife with 19 million views took the top spot on last week's Netflix Top 10. And facing El Chapo with 20.7 million views, top the non-English film category. As it turns out, Rockstar approached Netflix about this extended-look premiere not the other way around.
