You're going to want to hear what Dr. Darian Sutton has to say when it's normal and when to check it out. Yes, plus we will have the latest on the search for Nancy Guthrie coming up. A lot to get to today. We do begin though with the big news, the war in Iran, the US and Israel

1:02intensifying attacks. As Iran fires back, striking US allies and military bases across the Middle East, killing at least four service members, others severely wounded. Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce is in Washington with more Hello Mary. Hello, well, well, we are now three days into this campaign, but there's still a lot of unanswered questions about this war and what comes next, even as now at least four Americans have died. Now we have now received the first briefing from top Pentagon officials. The defense secretary arguing the US is acting in response to quote 47 years of Iranian belligerence, but he didn't outline why now what was the imminent threat instead saying they were acting to prevent Iran from using missiles and drones to create what he described as a quote conventional shield for their nuclear ambitions. And he did not clarify what exactly comes next. Trump has long promised to the American people no new war so he would get out of the business of regime change with the Supreme Leader now dead. The administration is saying that what comes next is largely up to

2:04the Iranian people that the US isn't going to get into nation building, but the president hasn't said who he thinks should lead Iran and he's actually suggested that the remaining leaders may continue to be in charge well. And Mary, how long has this campaign expected to go on? It's a very good question, while President Trump has said this operation could continue for four to five weeks, but the defense secretary just scoffed at putting any timeline on this. He is not putting any definitive time on it. Instead, he is leaving this open ended for now and he notably is not ruling out the possibility of US troops on the ground in Iran and he is warning the more American lives will likely be lost. Now in the meantime, the administration is briefing members of Congress this week, but Democrats are demanding that this war be put to a vote. Now, as for the president, as of now, he still has no plans to formally field questions and no plans for a long formal address to the nation. Guys, all right, Mary Bruce, our thanks to you.

3:06And as we continue to look at the widespread impacts of what's happened, oil prices jumped after the attack. Gas prices expected to follow. Transportation correspondent Gio Benitez is here with those details. Hey, Gio. Hey, Gene. Hey, guys. Good to see you, but the impact. It is already being felt here. Oil prices spiking this morning, and now about 11 percent higher in US trading at more than $72 a barrel. So this comes as tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which sees the movement of about 20 million barrels of oil per day is reportedly at a standstill right now. We also know that some oil companies in the region are reportedly halting production after Iranian drones tried attacking a Saudi oil refinery. They did intercept those, though, as far as what this means at the pump right now, the national average is sitting at $2.99 a gallon, but the experts over at GasBuddy tell us that could go up above three as early as today. And that's going to be the first time we see that so far this year. GasBuddy also says the national average is likely to reach $310 to $315 a gallon within a week or two, then up to $320 to $325 within two to

4:07three weeks. Now, it's not a huge jump. It's sort of in line with what we see in those seasonal hikes that we tend to see as we start shifting away from winter, but it's definitely something to watch here. And because geo, the prices could go even higher, right? And really could. And there's a few factors involved here, right, including how damaged Iran's oil infrastructure is and whether the unrest spreads to other oil rich Middle East countries. At the end of the day, though, the price of oil really depends on how long this fighting continues. Remember, this accounts, this region, this part of the world accounts for 20% of our oil supply around the world. So it's pretty major. Thank you so much. Appreciate your geo. Thank you for following that. Now we're going to turn to the search for Nancy Guthrie. Now in its second month, federal and local investigators in Arizona are still on the case, sorting through thousands of tips and endless hours of surveillance footage. Chief investigative correspondent Aaron Katersky is here with the latest, Aaron. Ginger, it's good to see you. Savannah Guthrie is imploring whoever knows where her mother is to please be the one that brings her home. She and her family have offered a million dollars for

5:10information leading to her mother's recovery. And she is reminding those who come forward with tips. You can be anonymous. It is now a month since Nancy Guthrie's abduction. And the only firm clue is video recovered from her doorbell camera of an armed man and a mask. The FBI, though, has a mask as many as 10,000 hours of video that investigators are now painstakingly viewing. And they are still asking homeowners in the area to turn in home security footage from January 1st on. Other potential evidence includes DNA collected from inside Guthrie's home. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has said it may turn to genetic genealogy, but the mixed sample is still being analyzed. So at this point, the FBI has moved its command post to Arizona and the sheriff's to Phoenix. That's its largest office in Arizona. The sheriff's department said its resources are going to be adjusted as the investigation goes on. Savannah and her siblings have said they are willing to accept their mother may no longer be alive, but guys, they want to know what happened to her and where she is. We all want to know. It is time now for a heart-to-heart and a look at a troubling symptom that you may overlook. If you find yourself getting winded more easily when you do everyday tasks that used to be manageable from walking upstairs to working out, it could be something to discuss with your doctor. Our chief medical correspondent Dr. Darian Sutton is here to explain. I think most people can relate to this. You're walking up a fly to stairs. You're a little bit out of breath. You just brush it off. When is it a concern? It's a common question, especially when I'm in the emergency room. I was just in the emergency room this week and having the same conversation. So I'm so happy we're bringing this up. Shortness of breath can be normal or physiologic. That's what we call breathlessness. That's when you're exerting yourself, when you're doing normal activity. The problem comes in when it comes out, when you're not exerting yourself, when you're at rest, and they can signal a real problem. And the reason why providers and doctors like myself are so key on this specific symptom is

8:20because it can signal heart disease. But aside from heart disease, other emergencies, for example, your lungs, like a blood clot, it can also signal metabolic disturbances, which can be severe and are often missed early on because we just assume it's just shortness of breath. Lots of folks think that getting out of breath, getting winded means they're out of shape. One of the signs that indicate that it's actually something more serious. Great question. So let's talk about when shortness of breath should happen. So when you're exerting yourself, number one, and when it should be relieved. So when you're resting, it should recover quickly. You should also understand that when you can having shortness of breath, you should be able to still speak when short phrases. When you're not able to speak, that is a real red flag. And then again, most importantly, it improves as your fitness improves. If you're fighting that you're going to the gym and you're continuing to work out and you're doing everything right, but you're still feeling out of breath when you climb a flight of stairs, that can signal something sinister, like heart disease, like heart failure. And again, these are often misdiagnosed early on. So when should you get it checked out? And then how are they going to check it out? Yeah, so paying attention to those red flags. So number one, if you're having shortness of breath

9:21without exertion or if you're finding that you're just short of breath watching TV or you're finding that you're having to think about breathing, those are what we call signs of air hunger. And those are real, real reasons why you should get checked out. Again, aside from heart disease, aside from lung problems, it can also be a metabolic disturbance. For example, if your blood sugar is really high, your blood becomes acidic and our body's compensate by breathing faster. And so all of these reasons or reasons why doctors like myself get concerned. Now what tests should you look forward to? Never want a comprehensive exam. We'll test your oxygen, your blood pressure, your heart rate. But then you should expect additional tests. And this is how I wake up patients in the emergency room. We often do an EKG to see your heart rhythm because arrhythmias or abnormal rhythms can lead to shortness of breath. And we also test your blood. For example, anemia. My patients who are young women who have heavy menstrual periods often don't realize that anemia often presents as shortness of breath. Can I tell you that that's how I always knew I was pregnant? I would really up the stairs and get out of rows and get out of breath. I'd be like, it's a great signal and you make a great point. If you're doing things that you or you can't do

10:24things that you normally would do without breathing normally or with breathing normally, you need to check in with your provider to make sure it's something more than that. It's so good. 24:14We are back now with Robin Roberts' exclusive interview with actress Christina Applegate about her new memoir, You With the Sad Eyes. She shares her life's most difficult moments in the book, going back to her childhood, and she told Robin just how difficult it was to reflect on those parts of her life. From her role as the lovable, ditzy Kelly Bundy in the sitcom Married With Children to the Furious, grieving Jen Harding in the series Dead To Me. As an actor, Christina Applegate has been a household name for nearly five decades. That name is a product. It's a pretty name. It's just, it's not the person that I am at home. Now Christina is sharing never before told stories about her personal life in her new memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, revealing details from her tumultuous childhood, growing up in Laurel Canyon, California, told from her most intimate diary entries. Madness pounding in my brain.

25:14Why, I don't know. Will you please hold me because I'm insane and I don't know what to do? How can I be happy one moment and feel like dying in the other? What was it like for you to reflect on your life? Hard. Really hard. Those things that I wrote in those diaries in my journals were locked in a box. I never wanted anyone to see them. And for some reason I was like, all right, let's open it up. What made you change your mind? Because I know there's a lot of people who have been abused and, I've lived like really hard times and I just felt like, I'm here for you. One of those times what Christina says was an abuse of relationship, which left her fearing for her life. I remember him sitting there, I remember how scary he was. It was, look at my hands, I can't, like it's hard to talk about.

26:17There's so many women who find themselves in that situation and people are like, why did you stay? They're told to lie. He said, no one's ever going to love you the way I love you. And at some point you just, you're either so scared or you just believe it, that you're not worthy enough for any other kind of love. I really, really, really feel so deeply that I wanted to share. Because I know how many women get themselves into an abusive relationship. And society says like, well, I'm a strong woman. I would have gotten out. You know what? No. There's a lot of women that are going to read that and say, thank you. And they freaking DM me. Let's talk about it. There's people going through some dark crap all the time and they feel it, whoa. I felt lonely.

27:18When did you stop feeling alone? I still feel alone in the sense that like, you know, there's this whole thing that we all want to feel understood. What is that feeling of being understood feel like? I don't know. I'd like to just feel less alone. Christina also revealing the impact her character, Kelly Bundy had on her confidence. Although Kelly was what she calls the exemplar of female beauty, Christina was struggling to uphold that image. As my fame grew, my self esteemed shrink, I wish someone would notice. But when your celebrity, your life looks like a cakewalk, my sad eyes were crying, but no one could see. During that time, it contributed to your eating disorder. Yeah. You write about that because you had to fit into, you said if you ate a grape, you'd be able to see it in the... Like popping up. How did that mess with you? It was awful. It was like the standard that I placed upon myself.

28:20And then it became so psychological and so screwed up and it's 20 years of my life that I didn't eat. There's something that you wrote in your book and I want to share it. You write, I thought my face was mediocre at best. I worked on my body so hard, but I was never satisfied. Can you describe what you were going through more at that time? I don't know why we can't find self-love. It's such a crazy thing that like my daughter said to me, when we were leaving, you look so beautiful, mom. Why can't we? See our freaking beauty. Regardless of things and like we don't see what other people see and it's really devastating, there's such a false narrative that's happening that this idea to be perfect and what is perfect.

29:23And for Christina, navigating this early childhood trauma came with an additional concern in an eerie foreshadowing Christina writes in her journal. Hope the underlying effect that stress has on one will not result negatively in the future. Wow, a powerful conversation between the two of them that so many can appreciate Christina's memoir is out tomorrow and we'll have more of Robyn's interview with her then, including how she's doing now, living with MS. 30:23Please. Thank you. Big welcome for having us. So both, you congratulations on this big revival, the show's premiere. What was it like getting back in those Scrubs? I loved it. I was very happy to be back in the Scrubs. It's like wearing pajamas to work. You can't beat that with a baseball hat. Yeah, we're all such close friends. We all stayed really tight over all these years and so just jump back in. You know, a lot of times when you start a project, you don't know anyone you're trying to pretend like you're old friends or pretend like someone's your wife. We were just so close. It just felt easy. It just felt like hanging out with your buddies. And that might be the vibe, but you still have to direct it, which you did. And I know you said you were a little bit anxious, but I have to say after watching the first episode, every moment felt intentional. And I'm sure it was. Thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah, it was intimidating because we really wanted to deliver for the fans. You know, fans are so loyal to the show. They really love it. And there was a lot of pressure this many years later to stick the landing.

31:23And I think it's safe to say with the response it's been getting that we did. Yeah, I'm really, I'm so grateful that the fans loved it. We were so nervous. We were so nervous. The fans are very passionate about the show and we were just all so thrilled when they seemed to have loved it. We were just having a conversation backstage about Star Wars and stuff like that and how that split the fan base up and that was one thing that we did not want to do was split our fan base up. We want to make sure that they all come back and enjoy our show. Well to have the original cast back together, it's such a comfort show for so many people. So great to have it back and we've got a clip here to check out. Let's see. Look, I know I need to get things under control with Elliott, especially now that I'm her boss. How special is that to have that real connection that then you get to take to work too? It's so great because you know, when you're acting on set, you just feel so comfortable. It's when I make him laugh, I know that he's really laughing and when we, you know, we do it as scripted and then we improvise a lot and we joke around and a lot of that stuff ends up going in the show because it's just two good friends trying to crack each other up. That's what we do. And then we just brush up on any medical training or get back in the lexicon, the verbiage, any of that stuff that makes the show feel really good. To make the show believable, you've got to have some form of medical jargon in it, obviously, but I told the writers early on, please do not give me any, well, we'll be here for a real moment. It's not Donald's specialty. I'm just sad that when I look at the script in the morning and see that Donald has a lot of medical jargon, I'm like, oh boy, we're going to be here for a while now.
