Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater is now the official water partner of the Iron Man North America series. Together, we'll hydrate athletes from the first mile to the finish line with Alpine Springwater that's always bottled at the natural spring source. We're proud to partner with Iron Man and support a community defined by perseverance, determination, and the pursuit of extraordinary goals. Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater always bottled at the source. We are live at Twin Peaks in Ken and Saw Guys. College football is here. We had big matchups today and throughout the course of Labor Day weekend. But it's an honor for Mike and I to welcome back to the show for another year. Barbara Dooley brought to you by Kroger. And again, for those of you who don't know the history, Mike, Vince Dooley used to do our show. We love Vince. We love the Dooley family. We asked Barbara a few years ago, would she be interested? And she said, of course. And Barbara has just been such a hit that it's been year after year now.

regaling us with amazing stories of her experiences as the first lady of Georgia football. So I guess first question, Barbara, how was your summer? Well, my summer was not the greatest in the world, but I'm alive. I had a rough summer. I took a bad fall. But I'm doing well. So that's good. That is good. And we are happy to have you back. Barbara, I got to tell you, we do a lot of stuff on this show. Whether it's Vince or interviews or whatever it might be. And the one constant I get asked, I will tell you no matter where I go, is, hey, you guys are going to have Barbara back on. And I'm always like, yeah, we're going to have Barbara back on. So you have a following just so you know that people absolutely love you. So tell me what you're hearing and what you think about this version of the dogs as they get ready for Saturday. Well, I think we're in for a treat, but I think the worst thing for me is that because of so many changes in our lineup, I cannot get to know the players

during the year because I never know who's going to be here and who it is. So I think this Saturday is going to be a great opportunity for all of us to get to know the Georgia Bulldogs. I think that we are going to see a fabulous offensive line. I think it's a mature offensive line and that's going to be great. But I also think we are going to be up in the air on who is backing up, Gunner Stockton, a quarterback. Have you heard anything about that? Well, Paglis is job to lose. I mean, he's certainly on the depth chart. We've received as the guy and I guess for Georgia fans of all goes, well, you're going to chance to see him a lot in the second half. Yeah, I think we are. And hopefully that we'll be able to see a lot of new spaces and get to know these players and watch them when we've got a lot of games ahead of us. And we need to know each one of them.

I think one of the questions I have is who in the offense on the receiver side is going to be the big playmaker. We've got to have a big playmaker for Gunner to be able to throw and do his magic. Have you heard about that? Yeah, we've been talking, that's one of the things we've been talking about most of the offseason because Zachariah Branch, who we love last year, is a Falcon. And by the way, he looks just as good in a Falcon uniform as he did as a dog. And there's what Canyon, the kid, for giving him from Georgia Tech. Correct. So there's a lot of question marks about that area you are concerned with. Yep, I know. What we're playing Tennessee State, I think it's in the Ohio Valley Conference, which is, you know, we should be able to handle them pretty easily. But I don't know if it was last year or the year before we had an opener like this and they gave us a death. So we don't want to

have to keep our team, our first training out there. Do you realize it's going to be 100 degrees on that play and feel at three o'clock? Yeah, they're talking about that, Barbara. And that's another reason why I think Kirby is going to be very careful and cautious, you know, with these guys. Even though they've been practicing in the heat, I think he challenged the media earlier this week. You guys want to come out, but these pads on. Well, I'll be happy to throw you out here, but he, but you know, it's been a part of me. Yeah, but it's been, it's been a topic of conversation, the heat and, and look, we know Vince, he loved to practice in this heat. I mean, he'd have his guys out there, wouldn't he? Y'all can't say would, but the good news is I don't think Tennessee has been practicing this kind of heat. They're close, but not as bad. And then next week we've got Western Kentucky, and I know we'll wear a bit out in the humidity. So you got to think about that. I mean, I've been to bowling, Green. It does get humid up there, but it's a point. Take it. His

barber, Dueling, Joyce is brought to you by Groger. One thing we used to love about Vince, and I didn't, did he actually write this stuff down, Barbara? He would find some little factoid about a team that he was like a four touchdown favorite against. You know, it's like, well, by the way, Appalachian State has got some of the best special teams. They always had some little thing he would throw out there. Was that a conscious effort to be respectful of the other team? It was, and he wanted to make sure that the team knew that in any given moment, somebody on the other team could make a big plug. And that's for sure you can. I remember when somebody called in one of you, one day on your show and said, the little sisters of the poor would have somebody to snap the ball better than George or could. And that was right. He always had somebody a little bit better. Yeah. Barbara, what do you think about what you're hearing about the State of College Football? It feels

like it's a mess. I'm not talking about on the field. I'm just talking about, you know, the challenges that you events and certainly his staffs had to deal with. And how this thing is progressed to where we are now. You got court cases and judges ruling on stuff. And I'm like, can we just get to the games? Doesn't it feel like it's a mess? Yeah. And I don't feel like the game is like it used to be at all. I don't like the portal. I don't like anything about when when a guy signs with you as a freshman, he should be here the whole four years. I don't like it. It's about, it used to be about team. Now it's about me, me, me. Well, these guys, right, money and power. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think people understand that a college education is an $80,000 a year, yes. I mean, you're working. You're absolutely

working, but you're getting paid. Well, we always felt that they needed a little piece of the action, a little bit of the TV money. And they could have done this. The NCAA could have done that and avoided this big mess that we're in right now. I mean, it's too late. It's water one of the breaches. By the way, has Gunner stocked an upgraded his truck barber? No, he has nothing. Let me tell you, he is cool as dude in Taya. And have you seen all of his commercials? Yep. So you see a bunch of them now. Yeah, they're running now. Yeah, it's amazing. I mean, these kids are like pros now. They're all over the TV, all over the billboard. It's amazing. I think Vincent went to Jesus when he should have gone. Let's sort of put him under totally put him under. Yeah. It is crazy to see the money that's being

made, but you know, again, you see a kid like Gunner and you're like, it feels good, right? You want to see the good good kids be able to achieve these kinds of things. And it's great to see. I want to ask you about home field advantage. What do you think? Because look, Georgia fans know it's going to be hot. And I do think that they'll show up. But again, you know, first game of the season. And do you feel like that home field advantage is where it needs to be? Because Kirby's addressed this a couple of different times. And I know we're not to the meat of the season yet, Barbara. But do you feel like it's where it needs to be? Yeah, I think it is. But I think Kirby is like Vincent a lot of ways. He's got to have something to complain about. That's his thing. Yes, I do. So about home field advantage. He can do that. Well, one of the things we were talking about the last couple of weeks of the law, Suits, is Carl brought up with LSU. We were talking about Commissioner Sanky. I'm just a

little curious. If you think he's up to the task, Barbara, because you knew Roy Kramer and some of the guys that really laid the foundation for the SEC. And now it just seems like it's an arms race with the big 10. I know. I know. But if Sanky can't do it, I don't think anybody can do it. He is like smart man. Have you ever heard him speak? Oh, yeah. I will hold you in the palm of his hand. I mean, he's pretty persuasive. So I think we're comfortable with him. Let's clear the air about hybrids with Kia. I live in Pasadena.
