Gavin Symes is Registered Occupational Therapist, a Metabolic Therapy Coach, and the Founder & Chief Wizard of Wizard OT, short for Occupational Therapy. He founded Wizard OT in 2020 to provide a truly person-centered approach to therapy.

At the core of their approach is the idea that each person should be treated as an individual. By considering each person's biological, psychological and social needs, they provide a tailored approach to improving every client's wellbeing. They don’t assume to know ahead of time what is best for their clients, and instead, work with the individual, their family and their wider network to create an intervention.

In 2010, Gavin suffered a serious head injury that left him physically and cognitively impaired. The injury made simple tasks hard and required some basic skills to be relearnt. Progress was slow and hard-won but with time, support and consistent effort, he was able to make a full recovery.

The experience of having his life turned upside down by a debilitating impairment has informed everything Gavin has done throughout his career, as it is the fire that drives him to help others.
