We had two, two good games I thought, which we'll talk about. We'll get into the next pull away from the Raptors and the next segment here.

2:01But let's start with the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Detroit Pistons. 113 109. No doubt of in Mitchell in this one. Let's go to locked on calves for their take. Danny Cunningham here. Rocket arena after the calves get a 113 to 109 win over the Detroit Pistons. Let's talk about this one for 94 feet on Tuesday night. The calves did what they couldn't do on Friday night in Detroit. They finished the game against the Pistons. They led for most of this one, led for over 43 minutes despite the fact that they didn't have Don of the Mitchell who's still out with that sore growing. They didn't have Dean Wade, Jared Allen left halfway through this game. Only played 20 minutes because of a new injury and they kind of handled Detroit. Now it wasn't their best game and I think Detroit certainly would say that they can play better too. But the calves kind of had a B minus effort and won this game decidedly. I thought. Jalen Tyson did a fantastic job defending Cunningham. He held him to four of 16 from the line head to be one of Cade's worst games of the season. James Harden was okay. Not great.

3:01Kind of inefficient. I think he's dealing with the effects of a fractured thumb. But Tyson was the story for the calves. Great on both ends of the floor. Again, great defensively against Cade. Hit five threes on the offensive end. And the calves now get a much needed four days off. They've played eight games and 13 days out of the Ulster break. They've got four days off until they see the Boston Celtics. Right here at Rockery and on Sunday afternoon. I'll talk to you then. And let's go over to Lockdown Pistons. All right. Pistons lose the Cleveland Cavaliers after a report that the calves don't feel like the pistons are in the same class as them. Post a Lockdown Pistons podcast. Cooke Hill here. That was not the way you would have expected pistons to respond to such such cocky crazy statement like that. But are the calves right? Look, and the two matchups the Pistons have played against the calves. And within the last week, one of them was without both hardened and Mitchell. This game they had hardened but then lost Jared Allen halfway through. And despite that, the calves have caused problems for the pistons in both matchups. Cade will be better than he was in this game. He was bad worst game of the year, I think.

4:02On both ends of the floor, he'll be better than that. But what the calves are doing to the pistons, they have multiple guys are able to tack down hill from the perimeter and get them in the rotation. Not many teams in the east have that. Not guys that can immediately attack down hill and not only kill you as a scorer, but also kill you as a playmaker. There's not many guys or teams that have multiple guys that can do it. And the calves have one in harder, have it in Mitchell, have it now in shooter as well former piston. That was getting this issue tonight that another one is they have that. And they also do have front line help that pistons will feel like they can out physical them and out match them in a series. They don't think anyone can out physical them. But Jared Allen and every mobile that if there was a front court in the east that could do it, it would be dumb. They're the ones that can match up size wise, length wise, defensively. Every mobile has not been bothered by the physicality in these two matchups against the pistons. Not saying that the pistons can't beat the calves, not saying I won't pick the pistons beat the calves.

5:02But I've said this now for a while, I'll say it again. Pistons biggest issue in the east will probably be the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two teams are also, it just feels like they're on a collision course for the playoffs too. And I think that would be a fun series, but as, but as Koo says, this, this Cavaliers team, man, they might be a bit of a problem, not just for them, but other teams needs to. Yeah, you know, getting the shooter acquisition is kind of low key really important for them because he's just another guy that can not afraid of the moment can hit a big shot, can make a big play is an irritant, you know, like I, he was a former Celtic like, yeah, I've seen him up close. He's, he's just a guy that the Celtics used to clear out and he would, he would run the final, final plays with, you know, he would handle the ball. So they're, that's, that's big. That's especially when you're relying on hardened as much as you're relying on. So you got Donovan Mitchell and Shruder who can step in and, and take some clutch reps away.

6:08You maybe you don't have to rely on hardened. So as much as I want to be dismissive of now, you know, the, you know, once you get James Hardin, I'm not worried about that team. I, you know, I think the shooter thing is kind of interesting. He looks good in this game. You saw him giving Kate Cunningham fits and, and who said it? Like Cunningham was bad, particularly in the second half picking up just some bad fouls down the stretch in this one. But Shruder's like that kind of savvy veteran who knows what to do to draw those kind of fouls. And when you add that into a mix with Hardin with a guy in Donovan Mitchell to you, like that becomes kind of potent, I think you're getting some really excellent play from Jared Allen. He left this game. They still won, right? No, Donovan Mitchell. That says something when you're not fully healthy and going up against a, you know, pistons team that's number one in the East. I'll say I thought the pistons. Cunningham had a terrible second half. Jalen Durin was awful in the first half before getting much better. That kind of like inconsistency. We've talked about them a lot on the show this year, John, right?

7:09And it's like maybe they just kind of need that year of like seasoning, right? Being tested a little bit more. Well, first of all, Kade didn't just have an awful second half. He didn't, he scored what two free throws in the second half. Yeah, he was back. It came late. Like that. Yes, they need to be tested. Yes, they need to find the weak points. And, and I've been a proponent of. Go into this postseason with what you have. Make your moves this summer. See who can step up, see who can't see what you really, really have in these pressure situations. And so, yeah, this is, this is good. This is. I enjoy that they have a foil. I enjoy that they have a type that can irritate them. When you're the number one seed, a lot of people are going to say, well, now you should get to the NBA finals. I don't think anybody really fully with their chest was saying pistons are going to make the NBA finals this year.

8:14That's not, this is, they are kind of like a head of schedule. So, if you look at this team and say, well, what is it about the calves that that bothers you? Do you, do you get somebody that can, you go out and acquire somebody that kind of matches up that can give you that thing that you're missing? So, that's, that's, I think more of what this season, what this playoff run is going to be about. But also, I would just caution calves fans. The, the calves have not exactly been dominant playoff performers. That's their history is not good. So, this is fun. This is nice. Caves fans can sit there and be like, yes, all right, statement win. 100% gotcha. The overreacting to it and being like, yes, yes, bring us the pistons and the playoffs. But you got to get to the pistons first before, before you, before you have the whole statement there, man.

9:18I mean, well, first of all, they might get the pistons right away if it's the one for matchup. But if it's not, I don't know, like they, they were favored last year and they didn't exactly over perform. They, they, they, you know what I mean? Like they, I'm not, I'm not exactly, I still don't trust the calves. And I know I just sang the, the praises of Dennis Schroeder, but you do still have James Harden and you do have a history of not performing well. You know, don't have a Mitchell has an exactly well, you know, you also saw the playoffs. You also saw their offense in the fourth quarter at one point, just go completely stagnant because Assar Thompson was just causing havoc defensively for them. And you know, after kind of dominating the game, you're like, oh, look, this score is much closer. It took Evan Mowgli hitting a ridiculous three in the corner to really kind of ice the game and put him up six and finally put this game away.

10:18But it was closer down the stretch. I think that in the final score or for people who kind of like tune out for a little while realized here, that doesn't vote well, right? If you have one guy that can kind of really stifle your offense like that on the opposition. And so I think that is a cause for concern for the Cavaliers also in the playoffs. Yeah, listen, it's just going to be different when you can game plan for one another. Listen, I saw it myself when the Celtics played the nicks, the Celtics dominated the nicks last regular season dominated own them. And then, you know, one little change, Mitchell Robinson came back and the nicks turn around when those first two games in Boston, the entire tenor of the series changes. When you can game plan, when you have a little, even if you get like just, just certain guys healthy, certain guys playing well certain matchups back. That just, it can change everything that you thought in the regular season. So yeah, like I said, it's nice, but don't count on it. Just don't count on it.

11:19A playoff series where you can game plan for one another is a different animal. Yeah, I think the East is going to be really interesting. John, let's stay in let's stay in the East here with the New York Knicks beating the Toronto Raptors 1 1195. Let's go over to locked on Knicks for their take. Man, oh man, with the New York Knicks like to see the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs. What's up guys? I'm Gavin Shaw of the locked on Knicks podcast a 1 19 to 95 victory for the Knicks over the Raptors marks their 12th straight win over Toronto for now. Knicks are the three seed the Raptors are still two games up on the Sixers for the five seeds of the matchup is not slated to happen.

13:34But the Knicks just seem to have Toronto's number whatever happens in the first quarter of the game. In this case Toronto controlled the bulk of it. The Knicks just seem to over and over again. Pull away in the second half against his team this time around allowing just 14 points in the fourth quarter couple of things standing out in this one. I love Doge and Adobe's early aggression 11 first quarter points from him consistently leveraging the attacks of Jalen Brunson other Knicks to turn into probes for jumpers dunks. He was all over the place in the first quarter. The next bench continues to shine. Muhammad Diawara is making an incredibly compelling case that he has to be included in Mike Brown's playoff rotation again looking confident from three. Jose Alvarado some playmaking Landry shaman some timely shots. Another really efficient night for Carlisle in three towns in Jalen Brunson just a complete win for the New York Knicks who seem to be playing their best basketball the season ahead of their biggest game of the year tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Yeah, you look at this one and it was close midway through the fourth quarter. I think the Knicks were up to and then they just like went off and ran away with this one.

14:41Yeah, you know, in the Knicks that's they're the capable of doing that when you have a healthy Mitchell Robinson just changes the dynamics. We talked a lot about that this year. It just a complete game changer for the team. Yeah, and and you know adding Alvarado to the bench just adds that you know you know what that means. If you look at his stat line in this right Jose Alvarado four points plus nineteen to high on the night because like that's what he does man. Yeah, you know with the five assists is just again it's just one other little thing that when you are as good as the Knicks you those little tweaks that just little kind of focuses things in and when the Raptors get eight points from their bench. Yeah, that that's going to be a recipe for disaster, especially when the like you know Gavin said that you know the Knicks bench did did a good job so and that's what helps them pull away.

15:41Yeah, the Raptors are kind of an interesting team like their record looks good. I've watched them play a number of Totten's you know and it's like. They just can't seem to get over the hump though right like they don't scream any sort of like deep playoff run any contender like good regular season team but you're going to go up against the top team in the playoffs and you're not going to do particularly well. They've struggled against top teams in in the NBA this season they just you saw in this they would get close and then they'd have some sort of careless turnover or a really bad defensive miss you that snatched all momentum away from them and they just done that regularly this year. Well, look at the record against bad teams Toronto 18 and five versus teams below 517 and 21 versus teams 500 and above so that that's we you know they're good enough to beat the bad teams they're not going to the good teams. And honestly 35 and 26 is a little a little on the surprising side for for them. I think they've benefited from Orlando struggling a little bit Milwaukee not being as good as as maybe people thought they would be.

16:52So so yeah I think I think the Raptors have benefited by being you know that that makes them currently the fifth seed I thought they were more of a playing team and so okay they're they're not but I just don't think that they're going to be a serious team in the playoffs. Yeah, that that's kind of how I I feel about them. They've just this is kind of been a thing all year right like they just can't get over that hump like they might get a game in the postseason and that just is like kind of it to me like I don't think that first round whoever they end up playing is going to go particularly well. Look they've got talent there Ingram's good 31 points on the night you know but he still isn't taking as many threes probably as he showed it in a game where you're trying to find some offense those those you know tough fought for midrange jumpers probably just aren't it it feels like yeah and you know look they they don't have that guy right they don't have that and that guy that consistently like you look at Scotty Barnes like Scotty Barnes didn't you know 14

17:54points is nice but nine shots for Scotty Barnes like they they have good talent. They don't have the like if Scotty Barnes is going to be that guy then be that guy and I just don't think he's like number one championship like guy right he's a great player but who who's your who's your Jalen Brunson. Who's the closer right like who's the guy that when you need a bucket is going to go and get you a bucket Scotty Barnes being as well rounded as he is look when you expend the the energy he he has on defense right like it makes it tough to be a closer your gas to your tired by the time you hit the fourth quarter Ingram shown that ability I think at times to his game you know I got to watch him for a long time here in New Orleans but like it's always felt like he's missing something when it comes to that. He's he's he has he has the numbers of that guy sometimes it doesn't feel like he is yeah he he's supposed to be that guy I think people think he he's not he's he's not he I think he's more of a second option that has always been kind of pushed into the number one spot and he's just not the number one guy like he needs

19:22he needs the guy next to him to make him I think to make him fully what he's going to be so yeah so I just don't see that that take over guy consistently you know I'm like looking for the the Celtics perspective you know the Jason Tatum the Jalen Brown like they have those two clearly defined guys I think the best teams in the league have the clearly defined guys the raptors have very good players no doubt very good players. I just don't know that the hierarchy is there for them to take that next step yeah and not to take anything away from the nix here because nix fans will let me hear it if I if I did they just kind of dominated like every part of this game it really felt like and it this one just wasn't it while it was close I never felt like the nix were concerned whatsoever in this one they just continue to kind of keep rolling there yeah I mean we talk there's a reason why we're not talking about the name because they're good yeah yeah right and and the things that the nix have to work like they they still have their questions they're obviously going to have their questions like they're against a better team the Carly Anthony Towns question you know that the you know can they stay healthy enough can Mitchell Robins say Mitchell Robinson stay healthy enough those things are still going to be the questions I don't think anything's changed this doesn't change the conversation around the nix

20:49at all but you know the raptors are the team in this in these two of these two teams the raptors are the ones with a ton of questions and more questions that need to be answered like how what are you going to be moving forward the nix definitely have questions too but the nothing nothing that's going to change in this game no not at all another team you know that I don't really plan on talking a lot about on this show is the Philadelphia 76ers who lost to the San Antonio Spurs 131 91 here let's go over to luck on sixers for their take 76ers suffer another embarrassing 40 point loss on the season is they fall to the San Antonio Spurs 131 to 91 I don't know too many people that had the sixers winning this game going into it obviously down to LNB down Paul George Tyres backsy struggled shooting in Boston and then you find out before the game you're not going to have Kelly Ubray due to an illness quit and grimes gets put in the starting lineup and then Andre Drummond gets in foul trouble in the first two minutes of the game like a damn bonus looking at Andre Drummond go foul trouble that's my thing what are you doing drummond only has a plan five minutes on the night sixers struggled throughout the evening and BJ Edgecomb doesn't even play in the second half after suffering a back injury right at the end of the first half getting fouled by Carter Bryant and

22:15as he rose up for three Bryant reaches over the back and brings down BJ Edgecomb hard to the floor yeah the the six years didn't have anybody and they got run out of the building here here's the stat that I think kind of just says all we need about this game the sixers are 21 and 12 with Joe LNB this season and they are 12 and 16 without Joe LNB it's so wild to what the sixers are with and without and be because I like how they play better without and be I like they're up and down I like the pace I like Maxi I like Edgecomb they play a much more aesthetically pleasing style of basketball it's just Joe LNB no matter what you want to say about him in his health and any he's still really good he's very very recently in MVP and even with the with the knee he still finds ways to be really really effective so yeah what's what's sad for them is they won the fourth quarter by nine to cut the final score to 40 so that's how this game went for them

25:45Anthony Edwards drops 41 points in the Tim rolls hold off the Memphis Grizzlies to win by seven for their fourth consecutive win I'm Ben Beacon host of the daily locked on wolves podcast this thing was ugly through most of it those are down by 11 in the first half they were down five at halftime to Memphis and it took until midway through the third quarter for the Tim rolls to grab a multi possession lead in this game. Thankfully Anthony Edwards was awesome in the first quarter he was phenomenal in the fourth quarter as the wolves built what became a 17 point lead at one point anti stretch where scored 10 straight points it included a crazy step back three from about 30 feet a great block at the rim on the other end of the floor just a classic and taking over the game stretch which was sorely needed there was a lot missing in the middle stages of this game and another one of those games where the wolves played down to their competition for a lot of it some hot shooting by Memphis early helped but ultimately they put away the Grizzlies down the stretch for the fourth straight win again and with 41 Julie straight on 23 11 and for as the wolves won their fourth straight. 26:51saying gosh what is this all for Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Tim rolls remind us all just what this is about against the Grizzlies on Tuesday night I'm Joe Molenex of Lockdown Grizzlies and Anthony Edwards looked every bit the superstar that he is the new face of American basketball while John Morant the former future face of American basketball looked on Edwards was the truth he helped get Minnesota to the finish line in a game that was more competitive at times than it probably should have been for the Timberwolves all things considered they have loftier aspirations than what the Grizzlies are currently looking to do but this is why you tank the NBA system is incentivized for teams like Memphis in this spot to go out and try to get the most talented player that they can and the best way for a small market in particular to do just that is through the NBA draft so keep earning the best odds at those ping pong balls Grizzlies hopefully pays off in the long run it that's bait and I and I am not taking it what so

27:53ever haha Anthony Edwards is awesome that's all I got yeah unless we want to show to go 50 minutes I'm let's move on to the Oklahoma City Thunder beating the Chicago Bulls 116 108 this one was closer that it should have been this one was much closer that it should have been it was close game and halftime the thunder raced out to then a lead in the second half of the Bulls close pretty strong yeah you know this is a speaking of tanking this is perfect you know you yeah let's keep it close against the the OKC thunder and you know look still still short handed thunder so you know let's call it what it is not only no shade no Isaiah Hartstein they they are they're getting through it OKC and so get the win Chicago gets the hard fought loss and everybody's happy everybody's happy let's move on to Miami keep beating the Brooklyn that's 124 98 we told you all these were so not particularly great games let's go over the lock down eat

28:57Miami beat the Brooklyn that's 124 98 and a game that they were close to win and they did win no not sex this is a tanking Brooklyn that's a team at a Miami he's been that is actually trying to find his standing avoid the plans are missed for the fourth year in a row and this win is going to help them do that with this win in Philadelphia is lost to San Antonio tonight they are going to inch closer to the 6th or 6th they're now just one loss in that lost home behind the 76 is with another game against this team team and this work the next team at home on Thursday a big chance to eat to climb the standings here this week they were led by BAM at a bio who put on a sublime two-way performance in this game dominated defensively did just in a moment was the hub on offense was to call a hero one of his best games of the season two times from his nagging injuries all year one of his best driving games is season that two ways or that that's the way for you this one BAM at a bio oh go ahead I would say I would call that win outstanding

30:01there you go Cali aware and BAM at a bio combined for 11 steals in this one that's also outstanding I would say all right moving on to the Orlando Magic beating the Washington Wizards 126109 let's go over to Lockdown Magic this is Philip Ross will write the host of Lockdown Magic here at the Kia Center as the Orlando Magic to keep the Washington Wizards 126109 to stay clinical clinical effort just what you're supposed to do against bad teams no thanks to Washington Wizards no thanks to Lockdown Wizards just doing what you're supposed to do again seems that are injured and don't have their full confidence in the players Orlando pounded the post in the Alabama hero about 37 points from him a lot of it coming from the interior didn't take a lot of shots they need to take a lot of field goals to make this one happen the Wizards are severely undersized and the Magic took advantage of those opportunities really this game comes down to how you play against your standard

31:01because the Wizards are a team that are going to allow you to make mistakes they're going to allow you to be sloppy they're going to allow you to just kind of try and out-talent them and that's kind of how they get you sometimes because they do have a lot of talent on that team even in their injured state and the Magic kind of fucks around a little bit they were kind of mediocre in the first half they led only by three and a half time but Orlando buckled down and really played to their standard their defense was hounding and moved the ball they got to the ball to the great scoring spots and they were able to take care of the Wizards not a lot else to say about this one you're supposed to beat these teams you have to beat these teams when you're in a play I'll chase like the Magic Car and the Magic took care of their business tonight at the Kia Center you didn't say tanking everyone's tanking this thing everyone has been we're pulling our own form of bingo here on lots on air I can play the bingo game too yeah you can do it as well the everydayers get that reference Tell us Maverick's losing to the Charlotte Horn it's 117 90 let's go to lockdown maps number one in the NBA in terms of how many games they've made this season

32:02where they've hit three or less three they're up to three now the Orlando Magic you're on notice you have two you have the rest of the season to get one more because this map team just cannot create any three this offense is they don't want to create it's tanking it's the end of the season I get it but man this offense just lacks creativity it lacks any kind of way to get guys shots in any way the maps have this guy John Pula Kitas who is the new two way guide the maps sign he played 14 minutes in his debut for the Mavericks and he's taking eight threes a game shooting 47% in the G league the maps can only create one shot for him the entire game from three they just three of 22 and that is the difference in this game the Charlotte Hornets 20 of 51 like you look at the difference between these two teams in the last month Lamello ball Brandon Miller and Conkin Apple combined are taking more threes per game than the Dallas Mavericks are it just is not a 2026 NBA offense anymore the one player I guess you could write home about Brandon Williams 18 points 10 of 11 from the free-through line but he only had one assist and only took one three and didn't make it
