FULLTANK 3079: Your Life Feels Heavy, Here's What's Missing
About this episode
If your life feels heavy, here’s what’s missing: Love.
Whether it's the three-hour traffic of courtship or the daily grind of parenting and work, love is the only thing that can turn a heavy burden into a light one. When you stop obeying out of pressure and start serving out of love, your exhaustion turns into joy.

Love is the only thing that can turn a burden into joy. When Maru courted me years ago, oh, I'm sorry, slip of the tongue. When I courted Maru, I lived in Kobao, and she lived in the other side of planet Earth in Paranyake. So during that ancient time of history, the MRT was still being built on Edsa, and Manila traffic became the seventh wonder of the world. Now it's just the eighth. My gosh, there was so much traffic, like Edsa wasn't just this giant parking lot, and my mother found out about it. And she said, Bo, can't you court someone who lives nearby? 15 minutes away, 10 minutes away. I knew she was just joking, and I told her mom, when I selected my future wife, I didn't put geographical location
at the top criteria. I don't mind moving through this giant parking lot called Edsa for three hours each day for her. What do you call that? I call that today a light burden. What does that mean? If you love someone, the burden becomes light. And that is the secret. When you love, effort feels different. Sacrifice feels different. Hard things become bearable. Sometimes even joyful. Now let's connect this to today's beautiful gospel. In Matthew chapter five, Jesus says something's surprising. He said, Do not think that I have come to abolish the law. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Many people think God's cabans are heavy. Rules that restrict life. But Jesus fulfills the law
by revealing its true center. It's love because the law without love becomes pressure. It becomes performance. It becomes a checklist. And checklist Christianity is very, very exhausted. I'm sure you know that. But when obedience flows from love, it changes everything. You don't obey to earn love. You obey because you are loved. And suddenly what used to feel like a heavy burden becomes a light good burden. So yes, if you follow the greatest commandment and love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. And if you love others as you love yourself, you will be burdened. But it is a good burden. Is your marriage a light burden? Is your parenting a light burden? Is your work a light burden? If it is not, here's my suggestion. Increase your love.
Do everything that you do because you love God and you love others. Then your burden will be a bit lighter. Here's my question for you and you can write your answers in the comments and let's have a conversation there. Which part of your life feels heaviest right now? Is it marriage? Is it parenting? Is it work? Or is it ministry? And what is the one practical way you can increase love in that area this week? I know that question is deep, but dig in. Find out. Search your heart before we pray. Parents, can I talk to you? If you want to build a home where learning is driven, not just by grades, but by love, character and purpose, check out homeschooling. It is a very viable option. My wife and I, we homeschooled our two boys all their academic life and it was a blessing in our lives.
Visit our Facebook page, CFA homeschool, and messages to ask when our next orientation will be. We'd love to help you homeschool with structure, support and a values-centered community. Come, let us pray. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Lord Jesus, teach me to obey, not out of fear, but out of love. Thank you, Lord God, that you are giving me the love that I need in my heart so that the burden becomes lighter. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen, and Amen. Dear experience, once again, if you want to know more about homeschooling, whether it fits your kids, your family, come, visit our Facebook page, CFA homeschool. This is Bo Sanchez here in full.
