It's Wednesday. Home. It's a hum-dead edition of Afternoon Drop. Trilvini bright field to Barris. He's looking up. He'll win. Goodbye. Bazzano. Bash is a two-out-three run homer. He hit and rocio with a line drive single in a center field. We'll score two. Focke. The guardians have even the series in a game of peace. I have massive speed bump that he had. That was that thing should have taken the car off the road. That's how disastrous that was. And I think if you believe it's a minor blip or a speed bump, it's because you want to. But like, there's a part of me that really struggles. That this idea that, hey, Dishonn carried around this anger, this rage, this hurt in his heart for two years. And now that he said it, he's moved on. I really struggle with that. We're in a judge in bowling green. My people will take care of you, John Steinbacher. That's what we need to do. We need to find a judge that is obviously going to be anti-Michigan. There has to be a judge in bowling green that I've gotten absolutely blind-stinking drunk with before.
Sure. I will pick up the phone and I'll just be like, were you in the Falcon's marching band in 2000? That was you. A real risk to cut. I have pictures of you. Or I at least have a very telling story of you. It's the afternoon drive with Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterl, on Cleveland's sports radio, 92-3 The Fan. The show is back in so is football. Bebe, that's right. Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterl and with you for the next five hours, are asses are yours. And that open courtesy of Guardians TV and Michael Marcaach on the board. Yes. Hello to the Ginger Saint of Cleveland Sports. We got Jake Marin, men in the 92 through the Fan YouTube channel. And of course, producing today, as always, listen to show all five hours. So 92-3 The Fan on the free Odyssey app, or you can watch all five hours long on 92-3 The Fan's YouTube channel. Don't forget to ring that bell, subscribe to 92-3 The Fan's YouTube channel.
Except you, Cornelito. Suck it, Cornelito. And like our videos, we desperately like to be liked around these parts. And Meredith Kane in the 2020s today, we got big day for the Gartos. Can they get the series up? I'm not going to bleep over on the desk here. See Hawks, Patriots on this very station later tonight. And yes, we are one day closer to the Browns V, the Jags. Hi JP. Hello. How's it going today? I got so much energy today. Good. Energy out the Ying Ying today. Feeling good. We like that. You sound like you have a lot of energy today. Football is back and that's a beautiful thing. Now, if you listen to the Nick Talk that I made earlier today, Annick Wilson says, by the way, on TikTok, it will sound like I'm on Death's Doorstep. I was using my lower voice. I just woke up. I was trying to get stuff out the door. Like to make the Nick Talk you were? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was like, I almost, I gave you a little bit of, uh, gave you a little bit of that berry white treatment. What's that sound like? It was low and it was slow. Okay. But you at least kept the deep voice with it.
I thought you were going to go, I don't know. Well, and then also sound like a, uh, that choir boy or something. Yeah, no, no, no, that would have been weird. But no, we're feeling good today. And we are like, I'm the closer we're getting to Sunday's game. I'm intrigued. All right. I'm happy to be interested. I'm happy to be interested. I'm happy to be interested. All right. A little bewildered. A little shock just a little bewildered. The shocking tech would be that you're not intrigued right now. Yeah, that's fair. I think there's a lot of Brown fans that maybe feel that way. But again, I think it's impossible for me and you to do this day and day out. And be like, oh, there's not a few things we're interested in about Sunday. There's a lot of things we're interested in about Sunday. And I do like that we have a little soft launch of the season. While I cherish my game day ritual. One of the one of the best things about being a Brown fan is that you're almost always at one PM on Sunday because nobody wants to watch this bleep in prime time. And the benefit of that is I get my rituals. Okay. That being said, I do like the soft launch, a little football tonight, a little football tomorrow. This isn't a soft launch. This is a hard launch. This is which Wednesday, Thursday. It is the Patriot Sunday. It is Monday.
It is a Cleveland or what do we have interest in other than maybe like a last 11th hour recini report? It's a buffet of football though. The NFL season doesn't just start and enter with a whimper. I mean, this is this again Wednesday, Thursday, all day Sunday, Sunday night, Monday night football like this is they hit you with a lot out of the game. I think they go from starving you for months to then all of a sudden just overloading you with all sorts of football. I'm excited about football tonight. You should listen to it right here in this station. Could we have had a better game? Could we have swapped the games tomorrow be the Patriot Seahawks? And today be the Rams versus the 49 is down under. Yeah, I would have much preferred that. I think everyone would have much preferred that. Although it's weird, the gambling streets and then also just the streets in general. Really, they like this Patriots team for some reason tonight. And I cannot figure out any, I can't figure out a reason. And the same sentence where everyone's like not everyone, but a large majority of people today come out and been like, Darnold's gonna repeat. The Seahawks are winning back to back Super Bowl, which is not something I heard the entirety of the offseason. It's now like, in the last 20-friars become very primed to be like, the Seahawks are doubling up.
But yeah, a lot of people are excited for this Patriot team. I'm really glad you said that by the way, just real quick here to start the show because everyone's doing the same bit, which is, you know, no one's talking about the Seahawks and their ability to repeat. But we're going, I'm going to go ahead and do that. And it's like, I did everybody get like the same memo. Is there no glitch in the matrix because it does feel like in the last 24 hours, everyone's turned their sights to not enough people are talking about the Seahawks, while seemingly everyone's talking about the Seahawks. Here's my take on the amount of takes that happen nationally, okay? My take on their takes is the ex on takes. Everyone in the national media space is just trying to jockey for their own corner. That's all anyone's doing. It's like, who planted the flag on my homes? Now, who can plant the flag on Josh Allen? Now, who can plant the flag on Kayla Williams before anybody else could plant the flag on Kayla Williams? All this jockeying to have the corner that then they can fanboy the most over and then tell everybody how they were right about this person and this everything. And so I think what happened is everyone spent the entire off season talking about the Rams in those additions and kind of, you know, getting their little corners and it's like, oh, I think the Rams are going to be great.
I think I think the 49ers are going to be great. Here's your reasons XY and Z. And then the dust settled and they looked around and said, wait a second. Nobody's picked the Super Bowl champion from last year. Like that team basically that team hasn't changed with the exception of Kenneth Walker now playing running back for Kansas City. That team's barely changed. Why don't I go ahead and plant my flag down in that corner? I'll take some real estate and some residents up with Seahawks drive. And that's how you end up with just a boatload of the Seahawks are doubling this whole thing up. It's why they need to have a little foresight the national media. You should have seen this coming so you could pivot and be like, I still think the Seahawks are overrated. And let me tell you why. You really could have sweared some people. I think this, I think today was predictable if we had thought about it ahead of time. And as we think about things ahead of time, we do have the Browns and Jags and Jacksonville on Sunday. And today, Dishon Watson met with the media as the starting quarterback of a team does. He is one of the five captains for the Browns this week. And again, it is a Velcro C, but don't worry.
That's for every Browns captain this year. You could rip that right off. And one of the things he was asked about was whether he, whether he had kind of thought of the Buffalo game. When was like the last time he thought of the Buffalo game in here was his answer? It's been a while since that Buffalo game out of your mind. Which Buffalo game? Pre-season. Oh, yeah, I mean, yeah, I'm not worried about that. You know, we focus on now. You know, it's about what we got what we can do now. So it's not about what we were about in the future or in the past. Excuse me. You know, we're not worried about 24. We're not worried about last year. We're not playing. We're not worried about the preseason. Right now we got to focus on Jacksonville. Now, I think there's a fair amount of people who where we are with Dishon is. He's the quarterback and we're just going to put a good face on about it. I heard Jeff and Andy come out of the Dishon press conference. And the message was, he's the starting quarterback and I want him to succeed. And it felt like and I'm inferring this, but so I'm going to believe what he just said about anything. I think the most telling part of his answer was the, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, they're in between the cliche machine and the question.
What do you think he genuinely forgot about the bills? Do you think he, because there are a couple of things either happen there. Either A, he was just being dense intentionally. And maybe that was part of that B. He was just acting and that could go hand in hand with A or C. Monkin and the team of the Browns have done a fantastic job of wiping away what is supposed to be a dark cloud that hangs over Dishon Watson. Everything that existed within that bills game and then the following press conference that happened after that game to the point where even Dishon is just so focused. He's doing the Jimmy Butler. We're taking the rearview mirrors. We're taking them off the car. They don't even exist on our car anymore. We're windshield people. That's very dangerous. We're windshield people now. That's how you, that's how you get to a real. He actually took off. He did. We still alive. That's the most impressive. He can't, he can't look behind himself right now. But that's the idea. The idea here is Dishon is so hyper focused windshield. And what's in front of him? What happens if there's attractive person you want to look at, but you don't want to be obvious. That's kind of what that's one of the secondary reasons why we have rearview windshield. Try to look at attractive people. Don't act like you were above this. No, back from our single days.
Not now because we're spoken for. I'm not going to act like I'm above it. I'm not going to act like a creeper. You're like, well, I'm just going to look right here. It's going to make sure that what I saw was what I saw. And then I saw it, and it was good. Yeah, moving on. I mean, we're all guilty of that, right? We've all looked at the rearview mirror. When we were certain, I'm not like, all right, I mean, even now it's just, it's just, you're just looking. I saw blue right now. No, it's not. No, it's not. No, it's not. I saw propane driver wallmark today. And she was like a Cleveland 8, and I was like, I don't understand this. She was the propane driver. Yes, she was the propane driver. She's like, those giant things to propane, she's out there. And I'm just like, where's Mac Robinson? I got to call him. I call all my single fellas because this feels like, this feels like a worker. All right, you can tell that woman was sturdy, but very attractive. And this is going to be good for whoever lands her. She was sturdy. Yeah, I didn't mean in a bad way. She was like double hand in those giant propane tanks. I was like, I don't know my fat ass could do that. Sounds impressive. I mean, I feel like you're like three times as attracted to her because she was doing a blue collar job.
Well, I mean, these colors don't run. Okay, I'm hungarian. So blue collar, we're going to do what we're going to do. No, so what do you think it is? It was the Sean acting or was the Sean at the Browns done such a good job of making sure that he's windshield focused. He's only looking at what's in front of him that he's erased. He's erased the comments that he made and then he's erased the actual game where he looked about his baddest of ever seen to Sean. What's in play and I've seen him play a lot of really bad football. I think this is a scenario of fake it till you make it and I think that's exactly what the Sean should do. I do that like you can't change. There's no football you can play until Sunday that can change the narrative or change how you feel or how you felt. And so until then, yes, you should just go ahead and gaslight yourself. I have no problem with the Sean coming out and being like, oh, what Buffalo game? I mean, I think we know what Buffalo game. I genuinely think he knows what Buffalo game, but you know what? Just act like it never happened. That's the smartest thing you can do at this point. I genuinely think he just lumps that game into what happened in like 2024.
It's all just so far in his past, even though it happened a couple weeks ago, it's so far in his past because now all we can do is put himself to the future. And where he's smart about it is he understands that if you play good football or even if you play bad football, nobody that is reasonable will bring up your preseason tape in any sort of way. You won't. It doesn't matter. Preseason football does not matter. The moment the moment the actual real games get started, what happened in the preseason does not matter. And it listen, Dishon, there's nothing Dishon can say that's going to convince me that how Dishon felt after the second preseason game isn't how he feels now. And so there's no use. So there's nothing that can be gained from going back and mentioning it again or acting like it's even in and kind of where you're thinking about. I whether whether or not, by the way, that he actually believes it is going to be evident on Sunday. If he if he collapses like a cheap cardboard box, well, that Buffalo game still up there. It's right. It's right. I don't know. I mean, he could have he could have collapsed even without the Buffalo game, though. I mean, there's not there's not like a world that exists where if he's bad, it's just solely because the Buffalo game is what got to him.
No, he might have always just been bad. I think that was the straw that broke his back, though. And got no Buffalo game to go off of for the previous three years that we watched him play bad for. Well, I think there's a difference between looking bad and looking lost. And I think that's what surprised me most about that Buffalo game is he looked lost. He looked like he'd like he was a alien trying to play football because there was no confidence. There was no field. There was no presence. That's what I'm talking like if that guy shows up. It's just the monster stoles power. Right. That's the simplest. It's five years ago. I won't come back and be like they just recently stole it. They stole it five years ago. I think I think that I think that Saturday. I think that Saturday might have been the game the damn given way. Again, he has a chance on Sunday to disprove that because if he comes out and he's able to to play well enough and they either compete for a win or they get a win, that's I think that question is answered that he has moved on from. And until they come home and the job that Munkin will have done if he can pull it off the job that Munkin will have done from a sports psychology standpoint might have might end up being studied in colleges moving forward.
How to Sean could wipe this away and then even go to the podium and just act like I have no idea what you guys are talking about. 216 474 0092 and Nick Wilson says at J Peterland on social media social media reactions on X powered by Shibon Jouler's Cleveland's premier jewelry store. We got Ashley Bastock at 320. We'll talk about to Sean Watson comments today. And whether he cleared that Buffalo game from his internal memory slate there Ross Tucker. It's football is back the number two man on CBS price. We can still afford him. Many people have said he wouldn't have got there without us and we'll make sure to let him know that at four o'clock today. We'll talk about the changes in the AFC North where he stands with his browns team. I'll tell you it's pretty low on him and Darryl Ryder coming up at six o'clock. We continue the March to week one browns and jacks tonight. Seahawks Patriots on this very station. You're also going to hear the the Rams and 49ers tomorrow night on this very station but 216 474 0092 want to hear from you guys and what you heard from Dishon Watson.
And today the message was he's focused on the presence and focus that he can prove that he can still play in this league. We got plenty to get to with the guardos NFL wide. But how motivated will Dishon Watson be in about five minutes. We'll talk about that in five minutes on 92 to three. The fan. Quick it's coming up in just about 20 minutes time. Nick and JP back with you. We do have Ashley Basta coming up at three 20 today. Getting ready for week one browns and jacks but it is prediction season. And I'm I'm merely making a point. I'm not taking a shot at the Yahoo sports folks and they've got it looks to be 10 analysts. And all of them are predicting the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC North. Okay. Wow. Clean sleep. I did not see a clean sweep coming neither did I. I think there's a lot more intrigue in this and I think there's a little too much emphasis on the fact that Baltimore has. I don't think people are emphasizing enough.
How when head coach has changed that is a uncontrollable variable that can be positive. It can also be negative. Hey spoiler alert. I really thought it was going to be more people saying bangles than Ravens. I was going to take the Ravens just because I thought I got a I got a belief. I don't think that Harball the drop off from Harball is going to be that apparent. And I don't know that Joe burrows ever going to really get his together in Cincinnati now at this point. I think about Baltimore is that roster has gotten a bit older, but I don't know where this is also coming from as nine of the 10 analysts also have the cowboys. Yeah, people love the cowboys right now. They really do. They like what shot and hymns belts up. They love that. They think that offense is going to be one of the best in the NFL. If not the best in the NFL. It's always been one of the best in the NFL with that. That's never been a very good last year too. But I think there I think the there's a couple additions. They made defensively not only on the D line, but also Caleb downs and I want press if he's been as well. We know him very well with Ohio State. I think there's been actual strides defensively that the cowboys can make way to but yeah, a lot of people are high on America's team right now. Two of them have the cowboys and Texans in the Super Bowl and it's split and listen, I think the multiple cowboys Texans Super Bowl.
Yeah, yeah, Matt Harman, who I think is a cowboys guy. I like that. And Nate Tyson. So like their football guys, like I really like I think both of them know what the hell they're talking about. It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard of. It's a lot of belief in CJ Stroud one. And then on the cowboys side, it's just a lot of belief that defensively they're going to have this thing together in a way that they just haven't in the deck era. And then everyone else has the Rams winning the Super Bowl. It just matters who they beat in the Super Bowl. But we are talking about the Browns and to Sean Watson. And again, to Sean Watson today said no looks in the rearview mirror. I can't focus on the future. I got to focus on now. You know about try to look ahead and I get distracted on not focusing on what I need to do now. Then you know, who knows what the future might hold. So all I can do is control these moments now these opportunities I have now. And I want to be just like Monk Ty Montgomery said, like, you know, he's 60. He feels like this is a shot. So, you know, me being on my last year of my deal and you know, being your 10. I feel like this is my opportunity to be up there, go and showcase that I can still play in his league.
And I can want to continue to play this league. So this is my opportunity to do that. Is Todd Monk in the Deshaun Watson of head coaches 216 474? Where does that come from? Well, no, he said like Todd said he's 60. He might never get another job. I was trying to both both on their last way. I would you by the way, actually disagree with. I think Todd will be fine. Even if he flames out here. The Deshaun stuff is interesting. He claims out here. Probably won't get a coaching job again. So much of everything I've seen about this is, you know, Sean's going to be motivated of all the things I've questioned in the entirety of his time here. I've never questioned that the Sean is motivated. Right? No, but yesterday your question is hard. And I feel like I feel like this response is a good one in response to the people that believe he doesn't have or doesn't want to necessarily play for the Cleveland Bruns. I mean, if you question his heart, then I feel like the you're like, well, where's his inspiration going to come from? Where's his, where's his give a damn every single week going to come from? If he doesn't want to win for the Cleveland Bruns, that's one thing. What's encouraging about this is that you can work in an independent system. The idea that he might not care to win for the Cleveland Bruns, but he cares to win for his future football life.
Yeah, and we'll see. I don't know because I can't I can't balance the idea of your right. I did say that I think that it's going to be tough for him to be like, let's go win one for the Browns fans. Guys, let's do this, right? And anyone actually believe him, but I also think it's like if he fails, I'm not going to be like, he just didn't want it. You know what I mean? I'm going to be like, oh, no, that's a human. And this was a really stupid idea in the first place. Yeah, I mean, if a sports talk host ever the response is he didn't want it bad enough. You probably should just find new sports talk host and joy and listen to because I think lock and for us in that about five years ago, it's not a good enough reason because all these guys should wanted at the end of the day. Yeah, I mean, this should be it's funny. I was driving in my car earlier today and I was getting ready. I was like, should I give should I give to Sean credit for trying to mount this comeback? And he could have just he could have just laid down and said, I'll just take my money and not even bother. And the reason why I'm out of traps out there, by the way, the reason why I won't give him credit is because he had to show up in order to collect the money like he had to like this is still this is still part of the exchange of all this is that he had to be here or else he would get find and then he wouldn't be able to collect the paychecks.
And there's a part of me that still now wonders is like is he just is he just going through the motions to make sure the check still clears and everything's all fine. Even though it's guaranteed money, you still have to use a key find if you don't show up, right. But ultimately, I mean, I don't I don't give him the credit and I don't worry or I don't think about this being some sort of massive thing for D'Acheun in trying to rewrite his history. But that is what he's playing for and he is playing for a future team. 216 474 0092 how motivated will D'Acheun watch and be got a couple calls ring into here in a second and Mike said, why is it a problem to be in the D'Acheun is the quarterback I want him to succeed. No one said it's a problem. It's not a problem at all. That doesn't mean you have to believe everything he says in a press conference. Or you also don't have to think it's going to work. You can want it to work the way that like Jeff Phelps you mentioned that clip that was online in his reaction and everything. It's like Phelps wants the Browns quarterback to do well because he wants the Browns to do well. I feel like you're in that same boat too. Yeah, you want the Browns quarterback to do well because you want the Browns to ultimately do well. But it doesn't mean that you think it's going to be reality and it doesn't mean that you think that if you had to bet on it, you would bet on that being the prefer or that being the outcome that's going to happen.
Yeah, like I think coach coach Riz texted me. I think it was last week of the week before and he was like, all right, Sophie's choice. D'Acheun is going to let you get you 11 wins, 11 and 6 in here in the playoffs this year. Or you know, Shadour starts a majority of the game and you're seven and 10, which would you choose? And it's like, kind of question is that. Like I can't be the guy that rails against tanking. I can't be the guy that says I'm so sick of losing. I don't care how it happens. Just make me a bicycle clown and then be like, but not with D'Acheun. I will happily eat my own words. I will. I will. I will skip to work every day if this is an 11 win team. If D'Acheun watches the reason they're 11 win team. And you know what? I'll give the browns out all their flowers. I'll go to a damn florist and get more flowers to give them. Like you're just picking and picking down like burial burial sites. I do. Well, I'll just take in flowers. We have a wild flowers out there on the property. I just you're not going to get rich. You gotta get a spring. You got a spring for the nice ones. No, no, no, they're flowers. Just accept my flowers.
Okay. What your point is right. And I think the accurate one. You are a bet. You're bad at this job. If you're not going to tell people how you really feel. So we have to tell you how we really feel. It's tell you what we think is going to happen while acknowledging that there's a lot of people out there that if they've to Sean wins 11 games, they don't care that it was to Sean that did it. You just want to win 11 games. That shouldn't be hard. Let's go with Dominic in Strong's field. Dominic, welcome to the show about what you got for us. Tinfoil hat theory. Anybody talked about the Sean salary being insured. Yeah, that was a collection of, you know, considerable amount of money. Not as much as there was originally reported. I understand, but, but by the same token, if you're going to play the Sean at all this year, let's issue. You're going to take us to the Super Bowl. No, is the Sean going to take us there? No. Okay. If you got to play a guy because the pain of a crap load of money. Play him at the beginning of the year. If you're going to collect any insurance money because this guy's made a glass.
He's not got a last. He's proven that, you know, I don't know that anybody thinks he's going to play six games. You know, if you're going to collect some insurance money on this guy salary, playing beginning of the year, brings you to her and he's the homecoming hero. And he plays out the rest of the year. All right, Dominic. Thank you for taking that off the air. Thank you very much. I'm not sure coach is would be able to handle someone suggesting that a team is playing a quarterback because of the insurance money and not to do with who's going to try to win them. Someone tell coach is to pull up to the side of the road and then listen to that clip right there from that call. Just explode with fury and angry and anger that doesn't really exist within. I also do think and I get it. The Browns have shown endless goal when it comes to things they're willing to do and normalize and tell you that you should like. And if you don't like it, they'll go ahead and look at you like you're the idiot. I get that. The idea that the Browns would risk two to five to six to 10 games this year, all to try and get some money more money out of Dishon Watson.
When a year ago, the owner said, hey, we all know this thing didn't work out the way we wanted it to. No, they have to really believe this. They have to I also don't believe Todd Munkin would sign up for that. I can't believe Todd Munkin signed up to have Dishon as a starter. But I sure as hell know that guy didn't sign up to have Dishon as a starter for cap purposes. Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense and that's okay. I like the theories. Keep them common because we're trying to make as much sense out of this as anybody can. I mean, if you heard Zach earlier, we'll play some clips later on in the show, but he's like nobody outside the building understands what's going on with this. Yeah, no, he's right. We've all been very confused as to this whole entire process. Yeah, if I, you know, we were talking about the sea hawks takes that have just been in the last like 10 days, it is man. The Browns have a lot of talent. What the hell are they doing in quarterback? Like, but and it honestly, there were a lot of holdouts on this and then Dishon went cablovy in that post game and on the field against the reason for us. And everyone's like, I'm not risking my credibility for this. I'm not going to say that this is going to work out after that.
Yeah, I mean, even guys like Albert who's like, yeah, might one of them might last two weeks. Yeah. Okay. All right. We'll find out. All right. How are we an acronym? We got about 45 seconds, buddy. What you got for us? I was going, man. I just hope everybody enjoyed the season because we have really, you know, grown tomatoes that this is going to be a great deal. And I wish we were talking about winning more than losing because all we talk about is losing. Because all they do is losing Howard. Yeah, they won eight games in two years. Okay. Okay. Okay. But you know, they put some pieces around watching. We got a pretty good back. We got a region revamped office of line. We got players on D fifth. I just think you guys should be a little bit more optimistic. Howard, I've said they're going to win eight games this year. I think it's the most optimistic person.
I've been called a home earn an A hole for saying that for about three weeks now. And those are exclusive. That's just my kids. Don't give me wrong. Don't give me wrong. How cool for what's going on? You know, it's more than he ain't played up to expectation. But at the same time, it's like, okay, they, you know, they did some work. You know, they, you know, put some things around. We should be competitive. And if we get lucky, maybe we will. That's hope we both get lucky Howard. Be good, buddy. Okay. It's what's for thinking, but they think positive. That's all. All right, Howard. Be good. Just hoping Howard gets lucky too. You might have watched a little too much Ted Lasso there. That Howard is true. Well, too much believe. Yeah, we put a little believe up in the studio and that's how much money went full Nathan. That's a girl. The character in Nathan Shelley. Look it up. I thought we were role playing. You know that. Are you? Well, you know, if the mood strikes me. Come on. What's fun is fun. Am I right guys? Let's get the jersey out. When we come back, Tom Pellicero.
What about that? That's a strong mild scare report in five minutes on 92 through the fan. Ashley Bass.com. Coming up in about 40 minutes time. Ross Tucker at four o'clock today is well as football is back. And we are celebrating it all show long, all week long. And yes, despite reservations, I have about to show on Watson. I'm still very bullish on the Cleveland Browns. We got we don't have to talk about the pretty significant development in the AFC North that will certainly impact the Browns this year and for years to come coming up in about 20 minutes. But let's go ahead and get to a quick. It's from the latest news and rumors around the sports world. To the sound bites you need to hear. It's quick hits Tom Pellicero reported on his sub stack the sweep with Tom Pellicero. The bills actually called the Browns about mild scare at the day. The trade leaked that sent him to Los Angeles, but they lacked a Jared verse level player, which stalled the deal immediately.
So I want to I want to get your honest opinion here, Jared verse a first, second and third or three bills, first rounders, which would you rather have had? Probably three first rounders even it's understanding that Jared versus probably worth the first rounder himself. So that would have been two firsts, a second and a third. I would have prioritized the three first rounders. So it's tough because like the whole point of the thing versus worth more than a first. That's a different conversation. It's tough because I look at the first rounders differently. I think the bills are going to be a playoff team Super Bowl contender for the next three years. I don't think that about the Rams. One of the reasons why I said the Rams as a spot that made sense for them beyond less need is one of the bleep them pick originators was that I looked at this and was like, all right, the first two years, those are going to be like the picks in the 20s, maybe the 30s. But that 30 or you might end up getting a top 10 pick out of it could even happen as soon as two years in. I don't know anything that can happen that the bills picks wouldn't have all been picks 25 on.
Yeah, I was seeing like a seeing a Josh Allen injury or something like that. I don't I'm not the same way as you are with the Rams. I feel like Sean McVey. It just always finds away and I feel like they're not only do they have what they think is going to be the quarterback after staffer. I guys, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that staffer if healthy will play until he's 40 years old. Now the if healthy is a pretty big thing there. I still I got to give the Browns credit is I saw the beauty of the Jared verse plan. I really did. And I'm really excited watching. He's one of the guys I'm most excited to see on Sunday. It's not about sacks. It's just about watching that guy play hard and bring some honor to Browns football, which would be real nice. All right. Let's go to this news out of college football. LSU is adding two players to the schools roster, which will complete it at 105 players, which means Dekwan Wright is not going to be a part of LSU and now Shepters tweeted out in the following like this week on wrong. Well, I don't know what he does now. They're they're trying to figure out all sorts of legal options. They don't know if they're going to end up just suing everybody and trying to make a real case that way.
They're not sure if he could just reenter and play in the NFL this year. How that would work as well. It does seem like Dekwan Wright found himself in a little bit of a rock in a hard play situation. Yeah, I actually do feel bad for it. It's so funny. People, you know, villainize LSU or they they, you know, glorify the NCAA or Clemson for fighting this or the conference is whatever. And it's like we do realize that the young men involved. They're just trying to do what's best for themselves financially and career wise. And they're the ones being screwed in all of this. Right. And it made so much more financial sense for him to go play LSU and be a tight end and go do that. Then it was to start his NFL career, which is if we're just being truthful about it, undrafted, like he's it's going to go nowhere. Yeah. Well, we're not it's going to go nowhere. Now the Browns do still have a neat tight end. And I don't know that they would welcome him back because maybe the way this happened kind of turned them off. Well, they might Tim a lot. And I don't know that I thought they were kind to this to him. And so I don't know that there's any bad blood there. Well, and there's no way they didn't they didn't claim on waivers without understanding what he was trying to do. Right.
And the hope was that well, maybe it just kind of felt, but I could see him landing on the Browns practice squad. For sure. Fairly certain if it happens, you know, in short order here. I'd still sue everybody if I were him though. That's the route. Sue everybody. But it's going to be hung up in courts. And then you're not going to have a ruling. And then he's likely going to sit out this season with no place to play. And that ultimately is going to kill his career, which is unfortunate. Congrats to Nordonia's own Browns corner back. Denzel Ward as it was announced today. He has become a part owner of the Cleveland Guardians, the Guardians. Here is Ward talking about what this means for him and the Guardians. Yeah, wherever they need me, wherever they need me. We go. We got had those talks and you know, I'm looking forward to I'm going to go down to the stadium soon. And I think it's going to be like a Denzel or they are something like that. We go, we go, we go, and have a good time at the game. But yeah, whatever they need. What I love about this is that nobody really knows what the minority ownership really means for anyone. But it is a feel good moment for one of Cleveland's own. And the same way that when Travis Kelsey bought the team, bought a part of the team here. How should the Guardians use Denzel though? How can they maximize their part of this? I think they were already getting as much as they possibly could, right?
Where he shows up to certain games in the sweet. He does the first pitch. And that's really that's all you really need. I'm kind of over the let's give out a tiny, tiny percentage to someone that is famous in the city. And let's call that a, it's fun. But I it's just it's not everyone involved knows it's not what it really is. Okay, that being said, if the I don't have $10 million or $5 million, if the Guardians did want to break me off, you know, again, I can be one of these celebrity minority owners here. I'll show up to games. I'll sit in the sweet. Right now you're still paying for it. Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, that or I have to beg them for tickets, which I just don't do out of principle. But I appreciate it if they gave me some. But no, I think I am willing to be that guy for them since they don't have anyone on the station as of right now that's volunteered their services. Volunteer to be a part owner. Yeah, if you want to give me something worth. Let's say whatever $500,000 gets you and you give that to me for free. And then you instantly turn around and sell it or what? Oh, no, no, no, I wait. And then I wait for it to mature.
And then I sell it. Okay. Yeah, many of you use in the future. You need the valuation of it. I what are you going to wait for it to double? Is that the idea? Yeah, that's about a decade. And in the meantime, a lot of baseball, hobnob and with the voter and, and in hegey and, oh, I would, it'd be best buddies with Austin Hegey. I don't even think you'd buy respect the locker room. Oh, and $500,000 of the guardians. Oh, I'd walk around there. That zero, zero point 1% share. I think they'd look at you. Like, what are you doing? I would get a fake, fake mint coat. I would walk around like the Mountain Dew guy. Yeah, I know what that guy's bit is. But I'll just, I bet the bit is just be Mountain Dew guy and nobody knows his name. I would go ahead and really grow this out. I would look like a mountaineer with a mint code. And I'd just be like, top of the moan and Mr. Kwan. I feel like when Jay Z was a part owner, but it was like the same equivalents of when usher had that tiny, tiny percentage of the calves. I feel like people like genuinely are like, whoa, owner of a sports team. This is sweet. But now we just been, it's been watered down. Everyone now, everyone now gets like a percentage of a team.
It means absolutely nothing athletic wise. Not a lot of guys in radio. If you really want to reset the market, you want to, what's the big word that everybody uses? We're disruptors. You want to disrupt the market? Give it to a fat radio guy that's really got no future beyond this thing. Now do you think they're giving it? You think they're giving it? Do you feel like he actually has a purchase the zero's point zero one person? He's got the money. I don't sound like people just giving away. Give it away here. $500,000. Yeah. And by the way, I see this team. They don't even pay for quality at bats. I promise give away 500, 500k. I promise I won't sell it until I either get run out of radio, which could be any day now. Or I'm ready to retire. Pretty honorable of me, right? I'm not just in it for the money. I'm in it for the insurance. Okay. Radio's a risky business is all I'm saying. Yeah, I mean, I'm, you're not even a purchase like a big sweet for yourself after they give you this, this whole ordeal.
I believe we covered this in the, I can't afford it. It feels very one sided. That's all I'm saying. It feels very. Yeah, I don't have enough one-sided situation. It's going on. It's happening between you and the garden. There's a lot of me over delivering for everyone. And I appreciate it. I love it. I'm given. He can't even promise him. I'd be like the ultimate guardians home or if you turn into that zero point zero five percent share. No, I can't even promise that. I can't. You never know for the football fan. I know I wouldn't. That's a Matt Festa. That's my guy right there. Festa. That's what I'm going to call it. You takes can be bought. I thought I knew you just for the guardians. Not for the Browns. Not for the cat. That's two high stakes and not for the cash. Okay. All right. At least we know. Now unless James Harden wants to. You just have that wine money. I was thinking what like just some of that speedway wine money. 10% of what he throws at a strip run a monthly basis. I would be set for life. Yeah. Yeah. Unfortunately. Yeah. You know, you know, do the same things. You know, do the same thing. I could. This point. I got kids getting ready to go college. If I got to hop on the bowl, I'll hop on the bowl.
It sounds very similar. Yeah. You're describing and what you describe with the guardians anyway. That's fine. You know, pouring yourself out like that. You know, it sounds very similar. 2020. You're doing the job. Yeah. You're doing the job. Might as well just do it for James. Art in 2026. I on the list of people selling themselves for Ilgondon things. I would still be one of the most moral people out there. I believe that. Yeah. I believe that. Yeah. All right. I'll go as the show goes. If you have you have that for. Yeah. I'll tell his show goes. All right. DK Metcalf Aaron Rogers. According to this report from Jonathan Jones of the athletic. I've started bonding over their mutual embrace of conspiracy theories. So Rogers obviously we know his conspiracy theories and DK Metcalf apparently has been long into conspiracy theories. He's got one about about Antarctica that he just thinks is a lot solid. He believes that the world's leaders gather from time to time in Antarctica. And he also thinks there's a whole nother many civilization that exists inside Earth already. And that's kind of where they live. I okay. Fine. Great. But anyway, apparently him and Aaron Rogers bonding big time over their love of conspiracies. I never thought I'd say this. Don't do your own research, folks.
Now just go right to the textbooks, whatever the historical textbooks. I just believe that instead. Here's the thing. The fighting is because I find conspiracy theories pretty interesting. I tend to have a lot of them in my algorithm, but I don't believe them all. And it's funny like there's so much on Twitter that if you just expose yourself to people are so susceptible. Our brains are so melded and just completely whittled down in terms of reasoning and intellectual ability that just you see anything on social media. And people go, well, I want that to be true so that must be true. And it is. I got to say, I want to thank you to DK Medcalf. I want to thank you Aaron Rogers. I want to thank a lot of the former athletes, Leshan McCoy. I want to thank you dummies because for a long time, people have held up former athletes in a light and being like they played the game. They know ball. They're really smart. And and and God bless them. These former athletes are proving that athletes are just as dumb sometimes dumber than than just common people. And I love every part.
Yeah, we're getting back to the old trope that used to exist of a dumb joke that joke. He doesn't know anything. So we're really going back. I do always I find it funny. Like we know here around the station, the people that just love telling us conspiracy theories, even when we didn't ask them. It married it is one. Kate was another like they like we know the people that love the conspiracy theories. The marriage gets like mad about it. It's really weird. I've not weird. It's just I'm not that emotional investor. She likes them. So it's fun. But anyway, like the idea of this is that it's Aaron Rogers and DK Medcalf are like the two people around the Steelers that apparently they just like they found each other. They needed the other person that is like, you know what? I will listen to that conspiracy theory. Oh, yeah, let's do a Ted talk on this and then go down the the Joe Rogan podcast route and just figure it all out. I think this is almost indeed. And like if we take a side, the fact that the fair amount of society in general is susceptible to this and social media and AI will be the undoing of us as soon as it in the next three or four years, if we set that to the side, conspiracy theories are fun. I'm expecting DK make the Metcalf to get a lot of passes this year. Yeah. Yeah, I think Rogers is really going to take kindly to the idea that he's not the only whack. I do it on the team.
He's just not the only one that's got a lot of loose marbles up there. This one's for the Hill people. Hey, listen, if the whole goal is like sometimes you got to be out of butter up your quarterback to make sure you get the passes DK Medcalf is passing that in spades. Yeah, he has warped his own brain to go ahead and maybe have another career career there. Jerry Judy's kind of done it with the Sean Watson. That's not it's not too far off. Man, you really open the door there. And I'm not stepping through it. Thank you very much. I said, steadfast belief that the Sean Watson's awesome at football. It's like you see how these wide receivers work. Oh, I was thinking you went to other ways to go ahead and ingratiate himself to the quarterback. Me like, you're for killing you a different. My Kelly doesn't work either. I also get treatment. Kill these buddies. Yeah. They're workboos. A huge development in the AFC North will impact the Browns and the division for years to come. Find out what it is in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. It's a three o'clock hour. I'm not wavering. I might be wavering on afternoon drive.
Actually, bass dot coming up in about 20 minutes, Ross Tucker, Odyssey NFL insider in about one hours time. But if you missed a moment in our show, use the rewind feature on the Odyssey, I powered by integrated restoration. Your local experts in water, fire and storm disaster restoration. One of the biggest story lines this off season though in the AFC North was wild Baltimore had changed at the head coach spot while Pittsburgh had changed the head coaching spot. The Browns had all sorts of change, but certainly at the head coaching spot and certainly ambiguity at the quarterback spot. It was more about the future of Joe burrow and whether he would lose patience with the the the Bengals inability to build a winner around him. Yeah. So it's pretty noteworthy when this week is a matter of fact yesterday, he came out and said that he's not going anywhere and that he plans to be in Cincinnati for the rest of his career. I thought there was a really interesting thing for him to say when he spent the entirety of the
off season allowing the ambiguity to put pressure on the Bengals to do moves he wanted, namely, trend and the 10th pick in the draft for Dexter Lawrence. I mean, I think just nobody believed him when he put that out there, right? I mean, that's it was on the Bengals website of all things. And I just I'm not taking him. That's not gospel to me. That's not something that I feel like I'm going to hold Joe burrow to a year from now. And so maybe listen, this might end up being you, you, me having confirmation bias for how I've thought and I think maybe you too, I think Joe wants to appear to be tough on the Bengals. And I do think he wants to use and leverage his power to get the moves that he thinks will, will be difference makers done. But I don't think Joe, I've never thought Joe has the stomach to do what certainly De Shon Watson did to get out of Houston, right? Where he De Shon Watson came out and I think it was early February and it was just like, I don't want to be here anymore. Trade me. People forget that all the allegations came about a month afterwards and that's where everything kind of fell apart. So I buy that I think this is what Joe burrow wants. I don't think
Joe, I don't think Joe burrow wants to be the bad guy to NFL fans because I think he understands what a leap you take out there if you do something like that. And then I think De Shon Watson is this signal for everyone. If you, if you do it and then you don't land the plane, you become one of the most hated people and they got a foul. Yeah. I mean, at least and I understand there, there's obviously there's stones attached to making that move and pissing off a whole entire fan base. And I think he's got to be happy. They went out and got extra warrants. I got you out of the now and they we, they reworked that defensive line. But something's got to change after this year if he doesn't get the job done. And so like I, if I'm Joe burrow, if I was just advising Joe burrow, I, you got to, you got to accept the idea you might piss off fans and Cincinnati, but you can't continue to miss the postseason three straight years. You then make it four straight years. I'm not making the postseason and you can look at that cheap franchise and how they're scouting department is essentially two guys in a broom closet. Like I, you just, you got to get somewhere else if that's the case. So I think, I think the discrepancy here is I don't think Joe cares about the, the dearth of scouts. I don't think Joe cares about a limited coaching staff. I think he looks at it
and goes, did you trade for Dexter Lawrence? Yes or no? Did you sign Orlando Brown or trade for Orlando Brown and send him to a contract extension? Did you pay my wide receivers? I think from that standpoint, every time he's, he's applied pressure to them, they have responded with some sort of move. Like I understand if Joe, I disagree because I think they could have done more. But I can understand if Joe looks at this and says, well, I asked for things that gave them to me. Now, let's see if they can work out. Yeah, I just feel like his thinking is going to eventually turn into man, I'm really just putting the whole entire organization on my back. And there's other organizations you can go to, you can go to the Rams, let's say, and all of a sudden Sean McVay is top notch, less need is top notch. They're spending money handover fists. They have defense, a defense that is built up with so many different players. They have offensive weapons that always replenish because McVay is one of the very best. Like there's so many different ways that you can make your football life easier. And Ohio Joe is just made it incredibly hard on himself. I just think, especially when it comes to quarterback, that's the one spot that that's what made
DeShon Watson so unique five years ago is this just doesn't happen. Franchise quarterbacks, guys that are unanimously agreed to be top five quarterbacks. They like something dramatic has to happen to cause the schism that for especially now where you're going to get your 55 to 65 to 75 million dollars a year, no matter where you go, isn't missing the playoffs for four straight years dramatic though. Like that I will get missing the playoffs for four straight years. Probably half the time. I mean, yeah, you could point to his injuries for sure. And I think that would be one great response back is like, where's Joe's ownership of all this as well. But if I was Joe, I'd look at it as easier to just go get me in a more stable place with the better head coach with and just kind of make that work and give myself new scenery. Do the Matthew Stafford, get myself new scenery and give myself an easy existence instead of trying to work so hard and Cincinnati. I think through the Bengals, you can look back and say, we've done more to support you than we ever did Carson Palmer. And certainly what we did for Andy Dolph. No, they're not wrong. But is that support enough? Is that is that anywhere close to the stratosphere
that some of these other teams could offer up and for Joe. Oh, you'd have to tell yourself, there's a lot of other teams out there that could just make your life a lot easier. Yeah, but you're comparing them to the Kremlin, they love Kremlin of very aggressive teams that are backed by super ownership. I put what the what would the Bengals have done to support Joe up against what the Cowboys have done to give Dak Prescott a better chance to win every other year. Like, hey, a Mari Cooper really, they traded him for because they didn't want to pay him. Same thing with Mike Parsons. Problem is the Dak can't force his hand that same way. He's not perceived to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's very good, but he's not perceived to be the Joe Burrow level like Joe's at a spot where if he's if he gets moved and if he gets if he wants out, this isn't this isn't going to be for some rag tag operation. Like he's going to go to the Kremlin. I crème that we're talking about. So comparatively, he has to look at it relative to what he's currently being offered and what he can be offered. I think Joe Burrow is proving it. I think he's proven the point that he doesn't have the Cahoney's. He didn't have whatever it whatever you think it takes to force your way to Cincinnati. I think he's proved that for the last three years.
He could have exercised that power at any point. And honestly, this is a we'll see it play out thing. But I think he was going to do it. I think last year's the year that should have broken. They screwed around Tray Hendrix in which certainly impacted where that defense was anyways. They didn't they haven't drafted well enough. They've allowed starters to walk off and not be replaced and replenished. Certainly on the defensive side of the ball, year in, year out. I think if Joe was going to do it this last off season made the most amount of sense. And then they went out and they traded for Dexter Lawrence and they added Boya Maffa and they added a couple other pieces that I think again, I think I think they really sat tight in off season ago where he was allowed to be pissed. I don't think he's allowed to be and not allowed. He ever was allowed to. But I don't think he has a leg to stand on with. I mean, you thought he should have already been brought by the organization. Then I missing the playoffs won't do anything to help that. Well, no, I mean, I think if last year didn't break him, how that went down when he was healthy for
part of that season. Yeah, I don't know what's going to be worse than last year. I think in activity is probably upset more than anything. But I think you're just adding on. I think I don't think Joe wanted the realization or was coming to the realization that Cincinnati is not the best spot for him. I think when they went to the Super Bowl in year two, he looked at it like, wow, I can go here all the time. This is fantastic. I just let's do this a lot. And obviously you wake up four years later and that's just not the case for him. 216 474 0092. Joe Burrow says he's not going anywhere doing the old Wolfel Wall Street in fairness. Yannis did that like the deadline and then ended up going and saying something about, yeah, we just don't see it. This is just kind of what just athletes do some time. That's the NBA versus the NFL. The NFL specific quarterback. Dishones really the only guy I can think of at that level. Why am I? My old Garrett though did that same song and dance to hear about that. That's an ad rusher every. There's like five players that to which they are endlessly valued and you simply cannot trade them in any way in a
disc quarterbacks. I think you meant the idea that they were talking about to like I'm not going anywhere and then going anywhere. We're talking quarterback exclusively trades and we got to go back to the Matthew Stafford one. But again Detroit treated treated Matthew Stafford way worse than what Joe Burrow is being treated at in Cincinnati. But ultimately if he if he if he once he starts realizing he's not being treated or not being considered to be a top five quarterback in the sport anymore. And I think missing the playoffs for four straight years. People will start to get hip to that. I think that's when you're going to start and we you're going to start to see Joe break a little bit. Now I did put my AFC North predictions out on Nick talk and I will tell you actually the only thing I think they can actually sink the bangles this year from being a playoff team is Joe Burrow's health. I think the defense is going to be good enough. I don't think it's going to be great. But I think it's going to be good enough. And I think if you have a the 17th best defense with that offense, I think it's a like just calm him down for 10 wins and don't even question. Well, so this is the other side of this, right? If Cincinnati does have a great season, then that would all but basically lock up Joe Burrow until the end of time in Cincinnati. Then
we got 10 more years of him in Cincinnati. That's why this season. So it just matters so much. I I think if you want to make the case that it falls on Joe Burrow remaining healthy, I think that's a strong case to make like like there's been people that have wondered if Joe Burrow gets injured this year with the bangles be wise to trade Joe Burrow for the number one overall pick whoever has that, you know, like that idea of what is what is actually going to give you more in return. Somebody that has been injured then for three out of four years or someone that you could say, hey, archmannings right there. Let's draft him instead. And you could dangle Joe Burrow to the jets. Let's say and with the jets taken or not, it's just an interesting thought exercise. Actually, best out Cleveland.com of the Orange and Brown talk podcast talk. Whether the Browns are getting a motivated to Sean Watts in this year and expectations for week one against Jacksonville in five minutes on 92 through the fan. Nick and JP back with you Ross Tucker rejoins the show. Football is nigh and that means our guy, Ross Tucker, joins us every single Wednesday once again at four o'clock. But our next guest doesn't
just wait for football season to show up. She's been with us all year long and she continues her excellent coverage of the Cleveland Browns on Cleveland.com the Orange and Brown talk podcast and right here on the Y's heart. Right. We make it right. Call Kyle Wright hotline. Ashley best. Okay. So we're going to start talking about the Sean Watts in a reasonable expectations for to Sean on Sunday against Jacksonville. Yeah, I think that's what's hard to kind of predict right now. And for me, I think the hardest part is just how is he going to look after these, you know, multiple season ending injuries that he had suffered. You know, I think it's not just coming back from the two Achilles. It's the fact that he's working his way back from a shoulder injury that he suffered in 2023. That is pretty rare. I mean, so rare that at the time, we couldn't find another
quarterback that had suffered this specific kind of fracture. So I mean, I think right now the most realistic expectations for him knowing that are doing the game management sort of stuff. It would be like what we saw in Chicago for that two series of action that he got in that first preseason game. It's important, I think, to not turn the football over. That's the most important part of managing the game. But I don't know exactly where fans should place their expectations, but I think for me, that would be considered a decent enough outing for him as they go this route and he works his way back. The Sean was asked about that Buffalo game and in fact, he kind of seemed like he forgot about the Buffalo game for a second there. And then it was like, oh, yeah, the bill's game. Does that kind of speak to the Browns job and how they've done this where they've just tried to make them have goldfish memory and just kind of forget everything that happened? Is that even possible with someone like the Sean and how bad that was two weeks ago?
Yeah, I mean, I think so. I took it as genuinely he was confused for a second as someone who was standing right there in that scrum when they said Buffalo game. He's like, what Buffalo game? You know, they played the bills a couple of times in recent years. So I think he genuinely didn't understand what he was being asked about. But I do think it kind of illustrated the mindset that Todd Monkin wants with these guys. But look, I do think it's an interesting question of if a guy like to Sean Watson capable of that, we're going to have to wait and see because obviously that outburst after that Buffalo game and that press conference was certainly significant. And I think it's not going to be the first adversity. Geek bases from other fan bases or even his own fan base. It's a weird situation. It's a lot for a guy to have to put in the back of his mind. But I do think that mental challenge part of it is also going to be key to his season. If he's able to hang on to the starting job, there's a lot he's going to have to contend with. So it's easy to talk about having a goldfish memory and even forgetting today, you know, he's not had to play in a game since then.
I do think like I said, it was genuine, but there's been some space from that moment. So what's this going to be like week after week? And if he is still getting pushed back especially from his own fans, I think that's just an unknowable thing right now, but definitely something to keep an eye on. Ashley, outside of quarterback, what are you most intrigued or most interested to see on Sunday from the Browns? Oh, well, I think on the offensive side of the ball and most intrigued to see how this offensive line holds up. I mean, it's kind of flown under the radar kind of not the fact that this team has five new starters on its offensive line. They have a rookie left tackle in Spencer, Fano. We'll see if they also have a rookie guard in in Austin, Barbara. If he can make this late push here, or if it'll be Kevin Jenkins and that would leave Spencer as the lone rookie. So I think to me, if they can have success as an offense and if they can score points and be explosive so much is going to rest on this new online and how they look together. So that for me is one of the biggest
keys and on the other side of the ball, I'll have to give you guys two. The other big key is what's this defense going to look like? Post-miles, Garrett and Jim Schwartz. It's a very broad question. I think we have some idea. We know it's going to be an attack front. I think there's a lot of mystery still in the secondary and I think production wise, they're going to have to obviously make up some sacks with no more miles here. So those are the couple of things that I'm very, very curious about and watching outside of the quarterback situation. All right, Ashley, maybe you can help me. I just feel like I don't understand Todd Bucking sometimes. Todd comes out and starts this whole thing about tailing green potentially being the backup quarterback and gives life to that and gives air to that. And then today's like, yeah, should our Sanders of the backup quarterback? Yeah, you know what? I do think it's not a coincidence that he says that on Wednesday when I'm assuming the Jaguars have done most of their game planning already. That's kind of the cycle, a life cycle of a game week. You do most of those things on Monday and Tuesday. So he gave them a little something extra to think about today, but what we're going to have to ask Todd on Friday,
because what wasn't in that answer about Shador being the backup and he that's what he anticipates. And obviously, we know Shador Sanders is number two on the depth chart. He didn't say if tailing green would still possibly be active and if he would have a package of plays. And I'm curious if they'll answer that or if that's not an answer, we're going to get until 90 minutes before pickup when they release their inactive. But I mean, I do think I took it as, hey, a head coach is going to go for any competitive advantage they can find. And if he disrupted the Jaguars early week prep even a little bit, it was probably worth it for him. All right, Ashley. Denzel Ward announced to say minority owner of the Guardians today. And there's been a lot of debate over what you actually get out of that. I have rather selflessly offered if the Guardians want to give me, let's say, $500,000 worth of ownership. It's very noble of neck. I will do that to open up a new avenue of celebrity local celebrity part-time owners.
I'm sorry, partial owners as it were. Call them part-time owners. Yeah, I would be part-time very myself. What does Denzel Ward get out of his minority ownership? Yeah, I think I'm really curious to see what this looks like if it will be kind of along the lines of what we saw with Miles Garrett and the Cavs that he sort of was this fun face. He got to sit courtside. He's obviously like promoting a little bit what they're doing. So I do kind of wonder if that's the same thing for Denzel Ward on top of what sound like is a lot of sentimental value for him in owning the childhood baseball team that he grew up watching being part of that ownership group. Now, I thought today when we talked to him, it was kind of cool to see him reflect in real time when he got asked, like, did you ever envision owning any part of any sports franchise? And he said, that was something that never really crossed his mind that he wasn't thinking that big, but now he is. So I do think like the Guardians get some cool promotion from a guy who is very much
embedded in the city. Denzel Ward gets to be a part of that. We know he loves Cleveland. He loves Northeast Ohio. He grew up here. He wins in Ordonia, wins Ohio State. So I just think it's kind of a cool story all around. And I do think it's mutually beneficial for sure. Nick is locked in is Jacksonville lost this weekend. He thinks the Browns take game one. I normally I'd be like, I'll give you time, Ashley. You can think about it a little bit more. We've got a lot to do, but this has also been like six month lead up. So for maybe just this week, have you already given your prediction to Cleveland.com? And if not, can we hear it? Guys, I have not picked this game yet. So I will I won't give you a prediction. You're putting me on the spot. I haven't thought about it. But you know, I think I'm just going to go with my gut. And I'm going to pick the Browns in this game. Wow. I know. I think it's not the popular pick. I think people are, you know, the Jaguars. I know I was looking for my own purposes yesterday.
And I know the Jaguars this week are a popular survivor pool pick along with the chargers as they take the Cardinals. But I'm going to go with the Browns. I do think they have, you know, some competitive advantage. And no one really knows what this defense is going to look like. How Mike Routenberg is going to call a defense. I think that's going to help them. I'm kind of relying on some Dishon Watson vintage performance against the Jaguars. He's trying to go eight no against them for his career here. He's never lost. There's very familiar with ever-banked fields. So I think maybe this offense with the rookies too has a chance to surprise some people. So I am going to pick the Browns for right now. I'm going to say weird is scored 26 to 24. Oh, 26. I will take 26. I'll ask that though. Now is does that involve a safety in there somewhere or like a missed extra point? Yeah, maybe let's go with the mixed extra point, but they did a missed extra point. They did have a safety, of course, the last time they played there. But Alex Wright won't be on the field to try to do that again. So it's a tough ask, I think.
Ashley, what do you consider to be the Browns X factor in 2026? Oh, the Browns X factor. You know, I'm going to go with if they can get defensive production without my own Garrett. I think especially that production upfront. To me, that's so important. Just because this defense has been elite really for the large majority of the last three years. They've led the NFL in numerous statistical categories in that time frame. And losing my own Garrett is a big deal, right? And you're going to need to be able to successfully get to the quarterback. And I think give a young off and some breathing room. So that to me is very, very important for this team's offensive success is if the defense can sustain some semblance of the production they were at over the last three years. You know, it's funny. Monkin was talking about him doing the, like the intro before the game and trying to get everyone fired up. And then he was, he was saying to himself, he's like, well, I want to, I was trying to figure out
what a hardball does, but I was always in, I went up to the box. So I never really saw what hardball does. And I was asking what hardball does. And then I was thinking about the team captain's side of things where he did the same thing that the Ravens did last year. Only a couple teams in the NFL do where they go week by week instead. And I just a part of me wonders, are we getting a little bit too much of a hardball clone? So to speak, like, do you feel like Monkin's maybe adopting too much from hardball if that's even such a thing? I don't think so. I honestly don't really think it's that much of a thing. And I do think John Harboh is a great coach. So it's unsurprising. He's had a ton of influence on the guy who was his coordinator the last three years and who he wanted to be his off and coordinator in New York. So I don't think it's too much like John Harboh, but that just maybe I'm just being too nice to John Harboh. And I'm sure some Ravens fans over the last few years would have some things to say about that and some of the decisions those two made together. But I think there are worse people to emulate for sure. Ashley, I can't recall if you follow me on TikTok. At Nick Wilson says,
Nick, talk. Emma said, I did put out my division predictions today. And at the bottom, the bottom of my predictions, it seems to be where I've incensed the most amount of people. Browns fans are furious that I've called for this to be an eight and nine, eight and nine team, whereas Steelers fans are furious that I have them at seven and ten. So I will ask you, what is the hotter take? The Browns are eight and nine or the Steelers at seven and ten. I mean, maybe I'm just too close to the Brown side of things, but I do feel like the Browns at eight and nine is the hotter take. Like I've said on here before that eight wins is kind of my feeling for this team right now that everything we've seen. I think that means everything's going right. You're getting really serviceable quarter back play. Your lines are staying healthy. All of those things. No, we had Ashley Wilson on board here. A pretty good week one win, eight wins. My goodness. I didn't swear. I didn't watch Nick's TikTok either. So I've been put
on the spot here today and we're just, I don't know, thinking along the same lines, I guess. But I think the Browns at eight wins is a very, very hot take. I mean, the biggest line hasn't at five and a half still, I think. So how can that not be the hotter take? Inmentation is this sincerest form of flattery. I heard that somewhere once. Yeah. All right, Ashley. Great stuff. We appreciate you. I excited to have football back and excited to keep talking about it all football season long. All right. Thanks, guys. I gotta say last weekend, last week, rather, we really went off the rails at the end of the Ashley interview. We pulled it together for the regular season opener. We're getting near the regular season going, you know, and I know like that's when you got to lock in Nick. I mean, this is if not now than when we probably won't lock in. Yeah. And I also feel like we let down our listeners by not being like, and we go out to the white chart right. We make it right. Call Kyle right hotline and allow Ashley's boyfriend to propose. We got to make it happen. Yeah, we got to got to get in his ear and convincing this is a great idea. Maybe it's a, maybe he's a Diego. I don't know what his name is. He's a Diego Povia. It's right from Vander
built to Ashley's heart. I would, I would be furious with her. Those Povia brothers are wild. Yeah. Imagine marrying into the Povia brothers. I can't because they're all gonna be in jail and five years. Yeah. I mean, their real life is basically just GTA six. Yeah. But not in a good way. I would say maybe Ashley's into that. I don't judge. I don't judge. And we don't judge in that. Well, we actually judge a lot on this show, but we don't judge that. Great step with Ashley on the white chart. Right. We make it right. Call Kyle right hotline will react to what she had to say and talk about pressure this weekend in one of the great pressure cookers of all the sports in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. Take the bad with you wherever you go. Listen to us on the Odyssey, I heart radio or tune in apps. Ross Tucker coming up in just about 15 minutes. He makes his triumphant return to afternoon drive. And of course, it is my yearly obligation to really just bird dog him to try and get me to say my name on air. Yeah, you're definitely never getting it now. Now that he's
number two now that he's number two, but I still have to do it. I mean, there was an outside chance when it was like, you know, Brown's Raiders last year. I mean, I almost got it. And you know, like that with the viewership, the window was about as tiny as the window ever gets like that. There was a chance that existed. Now is the number two. He you're just you're never getting. I almost got him to agree to let me on his podcast. And then he went away for the offseason. And then it just I thought you guys had hooked up about that. I thought he was saying that you could have like a hundred percent beyond the podcast. Oh, yeah, he did. And then then saying he's not following through. I mean, he went away for like, it was the offseason. There was no need to have me on. Right. So he's going to have you on once the season gets gone. I think the moment's been lost. But we will I will bird dog Ross in about 15 minutes. He's pretty down on this Brown's team. So we'll talk about that as well. But a little Gardo's news here. I chased a lot of back in the lineup for the first time in I was at four games now. He's in the two spot in this is everything's coming together with this lineup. The rotation shambles. The bullpen, your guess on
any night is as good as mine. The lineup is coming together since the deadline because Nathaniel Low is your six hitter tonight in a world. And it's a Delta. Delta cleanup. It's like when when Nathaniel, who I can only describe as a professional ball player, right? Meet meets plumber. But that guy when that guy's your six hitter in Cleveland, like three months ago, he would have been like your two hitter for the love of God. I'm it's slight hyperbole there, but good to see CDL back. It's nice to have CDL back. The lineup that just misses him. It's different without him in it. And Bazzana heating up call now. Bazzana has been incredible. Seven for 14 over the last four games. He's had a home run and an RBI in multiple games. He's at least an RBI in an extra base. He had in every one of them. Like he started to ever since people on the station call him out. He has responded nicely. Well, it's not just that. There's a couple guardians accounts. Like either guys that follow him, you know, minor league ball or guys that are just like Guardian stands and that just don't like him. Didn't like him as number one pick. Didn't like him. I've
mentioned Nick Kurtz. I've mentioned Jay, Jay, weather hold. I've mentioned all these other guys and the success they've had. And every time they start dogging him because, you know, Guardians, Guardians bloggers, Guardians fans are very cautious about going too hard at some of the young guys. But what as soon as they creep up on him and like say he shouldn't have been the number one pick, he flips the switch and all of a sudden he looks like a damn all-star again. Yeah. Love every second. And then we needed it right now. It's a good time for him to get hot. Now Ashley Bastock joined us in the previous segment. Great stuff from her. Here is her weak one prediction for the Cleveland Browns. You know, I think I'm just going to go with my gut and I'm going to go with the Browns. I do think they have, you know, some competitive advantage and no one really plays knows what this defense is going to look like. How Mike Rutenberg is going to call a defense. I think that's going to help them. I'm kind of relying on some Dishon Watson vintage performance against the Jaguar. He's trying to go eight and no against them for his career here. He's never lost. He's very familiar with Everbank field. So I think maybe this offense with
the rookies too has a chance to surprise some people. So I am going to pick the Browns for right now. I'm going to say weird is scored 26 to 24. I am oddly confident in an offensive line. We haven't seen play together on regular season game. I don't even know who the hell the right guard's going to be. And I'm oddly confident that they're going to be at least functional this this Sunday. And I think this, I think the element of surprise is here. And I'm going to be really fascinated. If the Browns pull out a close win as actually suggesting 26 to 24, I'm going to be really interested just to see what that does for people. Even if Dishon doesn't play a good game. Well, no, her, her arc though had Dishon being vintage Dishon. That I think is the wild card of wild cards. I just blacked that one out. Okay. Yeah. Because that was a curl base on that. Was vintage. We see a vintage Dishon Watson game. She meant vintage Cleveland. And the that one, I think we can expect. He probably followed that did not happen in that interview. Who was the, where are you getting that from actually? Where were you getting vintage Dishon from? You know
what it was? Here's I'll tell you what happened. We saw, there's also the eclipse at practice today of basically Dishon Watson deep passes. Daniel O'Fooce had an article today about the deep threat and how everything needed to click for Dishon and throwing the ball deep. I brought my own numbers at the table in weeks past about the deep ball and the lack thereof for Dishon Watson. And so like there was a there was a stress and importance in today's practice on showcasing that Dishon's arm can still throw the ball 50 yards down the field. You saw him have a pass again. It's open air. It wasn't against anybody, but it happened to Jerry Judy. It happened to Isaiah Bond. The clips are out there on the internet. You can see him for yourself. Yeah. I wonder if Ashley got hung up a little bit too much in watching some of those clips today and watching the deep pass today. I mean, she's there in person not watching clips, but you know what I mean? Listen, this is, this is something that will only bear fruit if we see it on Sunday. So I might be a little premature on this one. I think when it comes to Dishon throwing the ball down the field or certainly throwing the ball between the hash marks, I think it's mental. Like I felt the
way that you Kobe reset. Like you Kobe percent has a nice arm. He just never wanted to throw the ball down the field. He wasn't comfortable with it. Isn't that why this was smart? What Monkin did today though? What he did essentially is it's the NBA player watching it go through the hoop, right? Like sometimes you just have to connect. They put him up against air that didn't have him throw against, against cornerbacks and him go up against Denzel Ward. They had him throw the ball 50 yards down the field and say Jerry Judy catch the ball. I say upon catch the ball and of course they did. Well, that last one's a little, that first one's a little bit of a guess. They could have blown up on him. Yeah, could have blown up on him really quick. Yeah. The Sean's like, I can't even complete it against air. What's going on? But they clearly he was able to connect again. I really think that was a, I don't know the inner workings in Berea obviously, but I do, I do have a good inclination. This was a confidence building exercise for Dishon Watson. I just think they worked it. Seaped in the Ashley. I think the, I think the swing here from how the Browns look in a win on Sunday and how they looking to loss. I don't, listen, we all do
certainly every week has its overreactions. And certainly for the Browns, we do a lot of week one over reactions. I don't know, I don't know there's a bigger swing that can possibly be had for how, I think you're going to see people flip flop onto Sean Watson in the Browns like you wouldn't believe if they win 26 to 24. And I think Monday is going to be people saying, see, huh? See, and I don't, I'm not talking about Browns fans. I'm talking about media guys who right now are walking the line of, well, listen, I believe the Todd Monkett believes into Sean Watson. I don't believe into Sean Watson. You're the biggest Watson warriors out there. Just own it. Pull off the jersey. All right. Let's see in that number four, you cowards, but they're going to be there on Monday. And I think they're going to be people nationally that also do the same thing. Whereas if the Sean looks like a broken toy or gets benched or gets hurt in this game and the Browns lose, they're going to say, well, look at what Vegas did. Of course, this team is never going to win a game, which by the way, they should be in this game. If it's to Sean that sings them, I will be furious
because they should be in this game. That team isn't that great and this team is being underrated. If you're good, yeah, really good. Yeah. Good. I'm happy for you. I feel like that's a clip. Keith, if you want to clip that, I think social media's will really like that one. That one. I'm giving you permission because that's what everyone needs around you around my commission. Yeah, I clipped the one where Nick said people are going to react one way or another after after a game. Clip that one. That's the one. Okay. The point was you did that there's a wide range of reaction to this. Hold on. Hold on. You're telling me people are going to say they were right no matter what happens. Yeah. I'm going to say I'm going to be first on the moon on that one. Drop breaking stuff. You have there. Clip that. Send it to the browns. I think they'll love it. Yeah, they might. Ross Tucker, Odyssey NFL insider in five minutes on 92-3. The fan. It's the four clock out on afternoon drop. Football is back. Nick and JP, with you here, we got football on this year very station tonight. We got patriots and Seahawks tomorrow on this very
station. 49ers and Rams and of course on Sunday, Browns and Jack wires and our next guest. Always very patient with us. Always very pleasant with us. Always willing to talk some ball here during football season and to have him join us. We head out to the Y chart right. We make a right call Kyle Wright hotline. This NFL insider call is presented by Nationwide for your insurance and financial needs. Nationwide is on your side. Look at that. Look at that. That's that is week one energy for you, Ross Tucker. Pretty good, Nick. Pretty good. I like it. Way to bring it. I'm radar. Well, I do have a question. No. Who are the Browns playing on Sunday? How did you pronounce that? The Jaguars. John, then how do you say it? I say Jaguars. You're joking right, Nick, with the Jaguars. Yes, I do. Yes, yes, yes, I do. Have you had any Jaguars? Yeah, we actually have a decent
amount of them in this area. A lot of people do go Jaguars. I like to keep it fluid. I like to say it a couple different ways because I don't respect that franchise as a whole. So there's a decent amount of Jaguars people in Pennsylvania too. I'm not really sure how you are becomes W-I-R-E or where that really came from, but I find it fascinating. I try as much as possible to not hang out with people that say Jaguars. That's your stipulation. That's like no go. I'm glad that you guys both passed the test. I feel like there's some Princeton snobbery going on right now, but pronunciation of a, again, I would arguably say bottom five franchise in the NFL outside of one good year. And, uh, I don't know how we got there, but there aren't just a lot of people that say it that way. Ross in fairness, we can't get people to agree on how to say Shadour here in Cleveland. We have so many Shadurs that my eye twitches at least once a show. Yeah, there's a real problem.
You guys have Shadurs? Yes, all the time. Yeah. Even from like reputable people that come on the stage, you know, guests will come out and give it a Shadur. And they're so impassioned too, and they're so like, and they're ready to just make their take and be like, and then do or and you're like, what happened here? Yeah. Yeah. That is incredible. By the way, Nick, you do not realize they won 13 games last year, right? Yeah, that was last year. When was the last time the Jags were able to go ahead and bounce back two great years in a row? I'll wait. Yeah, I don't know. I actually, I do know probably 98, 99 maybe. Yeah, that's been about 26 years. But that facility, Fred Taylor, Mark Bernal, now we're talking. Mark Bernal, Jimmy Smith, Keenam, McCartle, that's three. Jersey. That one year, they were the best team in the NFL that one year, and they blew it against the Titans in the AFT Championship game, but they were the best team that happened sometimes. They had a great run of Madden teams as well because of Bernal, and you remember Greg Jones who you could just turn into a running back and nobody could tackle.
Now those are the Jaguars that I'm very interested in. Yeah, I'm, I love them because they're tackles, Rulian, Searsie, and Bacelli, and that was when I was like a junior in college, 99, and they were just beating the, you know what out of people. They played the way, they gained the way it's supposed to be played. I once did a national show, the day that Bacelli got into the Hall of Fame, and I realized in the moment that I was ripping his Hall of Fame induction basically. He just didn't play along enough. He didn't play along enough, didn't have enough all pros, and then I put together that somewhere in that the Canton area, there was a radio station that was definitely playing me ripping his family as they were leaving the induction ceremony. So I felt really great about that. You know what? Two things. One is Tony's a very good friend, and that's the only Hall of Fame ceremony and party that I've been invited to so far and attended, and it was amazing. Everything about it, the ceremony was cool, but then the party was really cool. So I will defend
Tony Bacelli to the death. I think by the way, one of the reasons why I was invited, not just because we're friends, but I very much was supportive of his Hall of Fame campaign because when I was in college, and even I get famous by rookie year, I thought he was the best guy. So this is back with like John the Nodden or Lando Paste, Walter Jones. Even if you ask guys that played back then, like a Roman Open or certain guys that played a lot of left tackle, but they will tell you for whatever that was, the four or five, six years that it was Tony. And then I thought when I was playing the guy that was under the radar was Walter Jones. I thought he was a decent amount better in the run game than Ogden and Orlando Pays. For some reason, Ogden and Orlando Pays were both great players. It just seemed like they always got the pub, and maybe that's because Walter Jones played for the Seahawks. People never would talk about the Seahawks, but he was awesome.
All right, Ross, I did my AFC North predictions on TikTok, TikTok, earlier today, and the two things that have confounded people the most are one my Browns take and then two my Steelers take. I have the Browns at eight and nine, and I have the Steelers at seven and ten finishing last place in this division. Which one is the hotter take Ross? So I love that we're starting there because are we at the stage of your career where you just predict outlandish things to try to get attention on TikTok? Not really, but I'm not too far off that. This might be a toe in the water. Well, do we need an intervention? Because like when I'm at a quitter Ross, when I make a prediction or a pick anywhere, okay, Ross Tucker football podcast, social media, at Ross Tucker NFL or here on your show, I always do it based on what I think is the most likely scenario. I do not believe in your heart of hearts that you think the Browns are winning
eight games this year. I don't believe you. You know what you're doing the show? You know what really get good ratings? Let's bring in like a retired FBI guy or a cop and have them bring in a polygraph, a lie detector and lie it since you guys are telling you now Nick. Nick would do video. He passed with flying colors. So your social media, so your social media can go viral. That was all viral. You saying on the air that you truly believe with all your heart, the Browns are going to win eight games while you're taking a polygraph that I will watch. He passed with flying colors and the only way I can tell you with confidence, I know this is because it's been a three-month argument with us. You can't fake five hours a day for three months the way that he has. I put him in so many corners and given him so many chances to back off of it, he just refuses to. So I think the Browns pick is less likely than the Steelers pick. I don't think either one,
I will say this Nick, I don't think either one of them is like no way you're crazy. I think the Steelers pick that could happen. You know they're getting up there in age. When I find fascinating about the Steelers is if they go up to a bad start or like at some point it looks that they're going to have a losing season. Would Mike McCarthy ever bench Aaron Rogers to put in either Will Howard or Drew Aller or whatever? Like that to me, can you imagine Benching a first ballot hall of Famer who literally made you millions of dollars because he won the Super Bowl as your quarterback. And then you bet, I mean that's that's somewhere in the realm of possibilities. If the Steelers got off to a really bad start, the Browns winning eight games would really surprise me. Let me ask you in this scenario, how many games does to show a jacks and started quarter to
show a jacks and started quarter back? How many games does Shadour Sanders started quarter back? That would be two games for Dishon and I could see him even getting benched as soon as half time this week if it goes really, really poorly and the rest go to Shadour. Okay got it. So then you believe essentially because I'm going to assume then that the Browns lose at least one if not both of those to Sean Watson starts. You think Shadour Sanders is good enough where he's going to win eight out of 15 games. I think Shadour can be a competent NFL quarterback and I think that's all it's going to take for this team to be a 500 team. So I will have to answer this question in the affirmative. So what's fascinating to me about that is if that happens, man or you guys going to have a good topic in January, February, March, and April.
It's about time we have one of those because it's been a depressing couple years buddy. No, no, what I mean by what I mean by that is obviously like if they made the playoffs and they won double digit games or Shadour was really good, that'd be great. You have your starting quarterback. If it's the opposite and he's really bad, okay, well then fine we gotta draft the kid. If they go eight and seven or eight or whatever it is and Shadour starts and he looks to your point like a competent NFL quarterback. Is that enough? Is that enough where they still don't get someone and they have Shadour be the unquestioned starter going into 27. What I'm doing right now is I'm pulling a Nick Wilson and a John the Pierlin and I'm already fast forwarding to next off season even though we haven't played a single game yet this season. You're welcome. Do you act like we haven't already done this this off season?
Yeah, that was just half of June. I think. Come on Ross. So where? All right, how many wins do you have for the Browns then? Let's just get to the the brass tax on this. If Nick is eight, I've said six by the way. I don't know that you know that or not. I've said six. Where are you? Probably four or five. That would be my guess. I certainly lean more towards six than eight. I think I think a lot of it comes down to how you feel about the offensive line. We know about the quarterback thing. Okay, so forget the quarterback thing. I have a lot of faith in Todd Monkin. I really think he's good. I really think the Browns nailed it with that higher. So that's a feather in Nick's cap of eight wins. That's a feather in your cap of six wins. What I struggle with a little bit is basically having two rookie start at receiver. A totally revamped offensive line. That could go well. It's probably more likely
that there's growing pains early in the year since they haven't played next to each other that much. I think what I struggle with is how good the defense is going to be. I think they had such a great thing going with Schwartz. And Miles was such a difference making player that no Schwartz, no Miles. I know they still have a bunch of good players on that side of the ball. And I've actually known Rutenberg for a long time. He's an Ivy League guy. Ever heard of it, Nick? He's an Ivy League guy. I'm a BG guy. So you know I have. Yes, he's an Ivy League guy. So I have no might for a long time. I think you'll do a good job. Don't get me wrong. But it's always interesting when it's your first time ever calling the defense. He's never done it before. And so there's some positives to that because the offensive coordinator don't have a book on you.
They don't know any tendencies because you don't have any. But there's also going to be some lessons he learned on the job. We're after the game. He made a call on third and ten that didn't like and they gave up a big play and that's a lesson he'll learn from. So the reason why I can't go as many wins as you guys is because I don't have I don't have a high level of confidence that the defense will be as good as they were last year. So I do want to circle back to your lie detector idea because I've actually always been really interested in the idea of I think lie detector. I think it's too predictable. So what I want to do is I want to do a lie detector at the same time that they put one of those things on that detects whether you're getting excited by graphic images or not. But so the idea is you're you're you're taking two tests at once and you're never sure whether it's going to be a question that you have to be 100% honest on or whether it's going to be a picture that really gets you going in one way or another Ross and just think of the variables
of outcomes that could happen there. I love that idea but I also love the idea. You should want the lie detector test. If you really believe that the Browns are going to win eight games, you should want that. Think about the credibility that that would give you with your audience. If you took the lie detector and you said on the air, I believe with my heart and soul and in fact I'm emptying out my children's 529 plan for college education and putting it on the over on the Cleveland Brown season win total because I have that much faith in Todd Monkin and the boys. Ross, that would be your best segment ever. That would be your best segment ever. Ross, I work in local radio. What makes you think I have an account for my kid to go to college? Now Ross, he has already predicted a week one win over Jacksonville. I've locked that in.
I've locked that bleep down. We got that early this week. Okay, okay. So this is this is this is where Nick struggles because at Bowen Green, they don't have a logic class. But we do have 5 on the walls. You have to Sean Watson only starting two games and maybe getting benched half time of the first game. But you have them beating the Jaguars. I pointed out this fly. I said, I don't have a game in the gambler's world. You're supposed to make bets that align with what you want to actually have happened and how it figures out. Let me get this straight. So let me say something like, is it does this mean that Watson starts against the Jags? They struggle. He gets benched half time. Should earth Sanders comes off the bench? He plays great. They win the game. But Monkin says we're still going to start to show them Watson next week anyway. No, and give him your dreams scenario plan. Oh my gosh. Give him that one. All right. So you got to stay for the same. You got to fall behind a little bit, right? Maybe. I mean, Nick, I just want like you know people are listening, right? I'm aware. We actually, number one ratings, buddy. There's not just me,
you and Jonathan, like you're on the radio in Cleveland. And I'm not the only person that just realized that you think Watson getting benched in at halftime or in the first two games, but you also have them being the jack. I'm so ready to be right about this. The I was right that is going to ring through the halls of Cleveland and your self-provider is going to be very enjoyable when I'm right on all fronts. You think I'm obnoxious when I'm wrong. Wait till you see when I'm right, Ross. We appreciate you, buddy. Great to have you back. Congrats on the success. And don't forget this weekend, Nick Wilson, my buddy on 92, three, the fan. Don't forget to throw that in there on the national broadcast. Yeah, that'll be extremely relevant for bill. Yeah, on day. What a process. That's how you do it right there. Yeah. I'm a fit in local people. Yeah, I'm a detector test when he's doing it. Well, they're on the bills text. Okay. Congrats, buddy. Be good. Later, dude. Later, dude. This insider call is presented by Nationwide
for your insurance and financial needs. Nationwide is on your side. I do not believe in your heart of heart that you think the Browns are winning eight games this year. I don't believe you. How do you know what you're doing on the show? You're really getting good ratings. Let's bring in like a retired FBI guy or a cop and have them bring in a polygraph. A live detector. So you're supposed to be able to go viral. That would go viral. You're saying on the air that you truly believe what's all your heart, the Browns are going to win eight games while you're taking a polygraph. That I will watch. He'll be the first I text when they get to eight wins for that. For that. Layton attack on on my credibility is a very serious sports journalist. Ross Tucker will be the first one that hears from me. It just five and eight wins is not that far apart though. That's the part that blows my mind. You can't tell me five wins. I when you make that type of statement, I'm expecting him to say like three wins. Also,
I get it. The quarterback spots sucks. I can't really argue a lot about that when you're starting to show on Watson week one. Why did everyone act like any team that goes 500 or better, which is the most get a pull target in the NFL for anyone that isn't the jets or the Browns by the way. Why do they act like eight and nine is some Mount Everest or Mount Kilimanjaro. If you just have a really good team around a crappy quarterback, it happens literally every year, especially when the team has the easiest schedule in all of football, both in terms of forecasting and in terms of traffic. Well, and the funny thing about if your way goes right, where you not with Jacksonville and Tampa Bay, you start off Oh and two, but it's Jacksonville and Tampa Bay. Jacksonville and Tampa Bay would do it. If you take outside of the AFC North, those are the two hardest teams we have on the schedule. I mean, look around like the the games that we're playing. I guess you got the Texans later on in the season. Maybe we can count that one throw that one in there. Dependent on how CJ Stroud is looking at the time. There's so many bad teams that we play. I just know the way it falcons raiders, Titans, jets, Panthers, like you're just you're set up in
a nice way. Saints, there's so many bad teams that we play. This isn't crazy. Also, I think, I think psychologically, lie detector tests are too easy to fool in and of themselves. I think my idea is that I think it stands out. I believe in it. You just have to believe. Yeah, well, you take a breath. It's like it's like shooting a shotgun. If you want to, you're talking awfully tough here. It is. If you've beaten a polygraph. Have you beaten a polygraph before? No, I haven't needed to. But I think my point is I think it's child's play. I haven't done it. You don't know idea how easy you are back there of it is. You know, we always do the experiential shows like hot ones. I watch every bit of them. You do. There'd be an interview and they're eating hot wings. I can't miss this. I think an experiential podcast where you've got a lie detector test on and then basically a detector on your deal that tells you. Again, are you going to get a question here that you might lie about? Why do we need both? Why do we need both? Because it's impossible to be both of those things at once if you don't know what's coming.
Right? Okay. Like you get three questions in a row. What do you ask? Something very, very risque and all of a sudden, oh my God, he's into what? Oh no, his member responded to the Browns win lost total. What does that mean? Yeah. What does it mean? I don't really see. By the way, you know, I don't know what it means. I want to see Ken Carmen's deal respond to the Browns going eight and nine this year because I'll tell you mine would be rigid if that happened. Stop it. I don't think you can express that. What? I don't think you can. I don't think you can express that way. Maybe I just wish maybe I just wish she didn't. That might be more. I'm sorry. I'm just I'm the truth broker today, buddy. That was unbelievable description. I'm going to have freak this freak. Okay. Unbelievable description. Stick it move. We're having fun. Yeah, we're no longer time at the deal. Ross did not believe it for a second though. And that's the part that I thought was really funny. The Ross was on one today. I enjoyed it greatly, but the I mean, it just it's not if you tell me five wins,
you can't then tell me eight is some sort of ass and I and crazy thing because you're just not that far away. It's interesting. There were so many teams in the NFL that people are picking to be to to surprise. Like you said, you responded like you said 12 wins. Yes. Yes. It's 500. It's not even 500. There's still below 500 below 500. But like 500 if yes or chat GPT. That is traffic. Oh, chat GPT. We wasted a lot of water and potentially killed generations of future Americans and they couldn't even get the damn win loss right. But that's okay. I'm not not mad about that. I'm the co-fish. That's the big battle right now. I do like going. It's killing a lot of co-fish out there. Going to a place where they had co-fish. You know, like this a vibe. So like some Chinese restaurants have co-fish. I'm about that. Yeah. You see put a picture of a co-fish up and maybe we see what happens. Richard. We can't describe things that way guys. We can't do that. They described what it was. I know what thing was fine. It was
fine. I do. But I like I've seen people pimped this jets team. The jets look at their roster. They're not talented and they have Geno Smith who was unplayable last year. Got them the number one pick in Vegas and people like I think they can win seven games. I know what they still they have Garrett Wilson. You have Reese Hall. No one's backing the jets. But the idea is that they do have they have every team has playmakers. This is what I try to tell everybody all the time. Every team has a guy or two that you can look at and say, Oh yeah. That guy could be a pro ball or like it could be an all pro. But I think that and so the hey, we can look past the quarterback goes every single place but the Cleveland Browns. And that is what annoys me about this. As I understand I'm taking a big leap here of saying the offensive line stays healthy and the rookies hit the ground running and you run the ball successfully and the defense doesn't take a step back. I understand that there are fair amount of ifs there. Yeah. But there are teams every year who go in with that many ifs and end up having more success than people think.
And so the idea that like I'll be honest with you, this deal is falling apart with a very good regular season head coach and a veteran quarterback and Aaron Rogers. That still feels like to me the hotter take than the Browns being eight and nine on the mildest schedule ever when no one has any expectations. But again, because it's the Browns, because it's to show on a Shadore, well, there's no possible way that could work out. I feel like the on the steeler side of things. It's interesting to see how people react to the steeler's. But I think I think more people than not expect the Steelers to fall flat on their face at this point. Oh, right. Yeah. I mean, Ross brought up the idea. What do you do if Aaron Rogers sucks halfway through the season? Would they even just bench him? Because you got to find out what you have and will Howard or any of these other guys before you end up in an offseason where you desperately need a quarterback. Only reason why I'm all about that other than the obvious, it'd be hilarious to watch Steelers fans after years of saying nine and eight, ten and seven's not good enough. If they went like six and 11 with McCarthy would be hilarious with Aaron Rogers. They've been asking for it. They want that more Steelers fans than not want to he they want to see the bottom. I think they want three and
14. I don't know what they do on six and I don't think I want six and 11. I don't know. You're going to stay. I want to think they want to stink with panache. They have so many players on that defensive side of the ball getting to three wins is going to be tough. But that's what they want. They want them to they want them to bottom out. They had the reason why they feel like they've been stuck in mediocrity land is because they haven't bottomed out at any point. They're like accepting of it. They want to wrap their arms around a three win season. Now all this being said, the reason why I want that more than anything is Mike McCarthy gets the last laugh. I mean, Aaron Rogers basically called him as simple to this side of sling blade or forest gump. Yeah. I like all this football off its football. Mm-hmm. Real good like a Kaiser blade. That's basically what Aaron Rogers said about Mike McCarthy. I know Mike McCarthy to turn around and be like, I have to bench you your career. So over that would be I mean, that's a heel turn that even Hulk Hogan couldn't have pulled off with the N. W. O. in 1996. It'd be funny, but kind of like how we discussed to Sean Watson in game one where I'm like, he's just you just you're going down with the ship. If that's how that goes down, if he's throwing a million picks, you're just going to you make him just sit in it.
Same thing's going to happen with Aaron Rogers. Steenwers are going to make him they they'll throw them out there for way longer than necessary. 216 474 0092. What is a hotter take? We do have the lead coming up in just about 15 minutes and now that footballers back in swing. We've had plenty. I mean plenty of news today. The Brock Bauer stuff has significant fantasy football implications. Obviously we're getting
you ready for Patriots Seahawks. I do want to get to a Jeff Phelps take, which I say as often as I possibly can. But you were you were right to point out the varying degrees of conversations. We're having on Sam Darnel to head of this this game. One two years removed from the resurgence in Minnesota and certainly roughly eight months removed seven months removed from Sam Darnel to completely resurrecting his career with Super Bowl win. Well, so now he's put together back-to-back great seasons essentially, right? And so I guess the question that would follow up even though he did win the Super Bowl. How many years in a row does he have to do this? I feel like if this is what is it this year? Is this the one? If he wins double digit games and has an unquestioned great season, will people finally admit that he's good at this thing? I don't know because I'm torn because I think I've seen plenty of quarterback rankings that have him in the anywhere from 12 to seven range, right? But I think what's interesting is when Sam Darnel was drafted, everyone thought he was going to be Josh Allen, meaning. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All the tans of everything you
think of a huge arm. Very athletic. Uh huh. And obviously that didn't go that way until the last two years. So, you know, we had Albert's predictive votes from executives and coaches that we talked to him about yesterday. And I thought it was really interesting that Sam Darnel, I think, was seventh or eighth on that list. Action, though, is a little bit low. It was like tenth. I thought to myself, if there's a guy that could jump into the top five with another, I mean, even just a Super Bowl run or even like NFC title game, I think it's Darnel because he has the pedigree people look for to kind of make those leaps. Yeah. But I just, I wonder, is this going to be the year then he has to do it this year before then people will actually acknowledge how good he is at this whole thing. It feels like he kind of gets bypassed in all of this and all the conversations. We talk about great quarterbacks or at least good quarterbacks. Sam Darnel doesn't get brought up the same way. And I, it's amazing. You just won the Super Bowl. And is he going to be hoisting the one party trophy next year and people will still be like, I think quarterback acts is still better. I don't think it's possible if he has another year like last year, whether they win the Super Bowl
or not. But certainly, I mean, if they win the Super Bowl, he's going to have to sling shot into the top five. There was a thought process that exists that we should see the best Sam Darnel we've ever seen. Now, I would imagine this year, think about the, the weight of the world that has just been taken off his shoulders and with after what happened last year. I mean, there was, there was question marks about whether or not it was just, Justin Jefferson and Kevin O'Connell. And then he came to Seattle and he answered all those. And then one like no one can ever call him a bust anymore. You win the Super Bowl. That, that part of the equation just gets taken immediately out. So I, I'm expecting the best version of Sam Darnel we've ever seen. He's playing with no pressure, essentially. It'll also, I, here's another way that'll tell how Sam Darnel is really thought of. And that is how Seattle pays him so much. The reaction to Baker Mayfield getting that, that contract yesterday was he reset the middle class in the NFL. So where Daniel Jones was at 44 million, and Sam Darnel to like 35 million, Baker getting 55. All right. That's the kind of the benchmark. If you're a middle of the road quarterbacks, you think Sam Darnel is better than Baker Mayfield.
I think with another good year, I don't think there's a reason he shouldn't be making Pat Maholmes kind of contract, right? I think you just won the Super Bowl. I think I think it's silly to even ask if he's better than Baker Mayfield. But I know there's enough people listening their car right now that answer that question inside Baker Mayfield's better. And the idea that it's, I mean, I still take Baker over him because I think Baker's just that dude. And I think that's, that's kind of what I'm getting at though, is that that concept right there that more people than not, I believe, would take Baker Mayfield. And it's like the guy just hoisted the one party. He just, he just won the Super Bowl while dominating the playoffs to get there. And if she title game was incredible, what he did against the Rams in that game. So what I think is is going to maybe hold him back a little bit is they didn't need a great Sam Darnel performance to win the Super Bowl. So that doesn't help. But they needed the un-fc title game. Oh, wow. But they both team scored in the 30s. That game was that game was dependent on Sam Darnel being dynamic. Even think back to the Minnesota playoff game where people were saying, Oh, here's, oh, he's seen ghosts again. He for some reason, two great seasons as great as they are. He's not.
I was, it was both games in the Minnesota, in the mode of Minnesota season. It was the end of the season game to then not give them the buy. And then it was the playoff game. But obviously, I thought things changed with Seattle and the other caveat that goes against him. And this is, this is part of that. Is he great conversation or not? It's a ginger. Not that. I think people buy that. Michael. And we have one of the show now. We got to be kinder than ginger. We appreciate you. But the genders are underrated nationally. I think everybody knows that. When you have Justin Jefferson as a wide receiver and then you have JSN as a wide receiver, I think people question. Can you only do this if you have a great wide receiver? And if I was Sam Darnel, I would say, well, good. I'm going to sign a deal with Seattle and JSN isn't going anywhere anyway. Yeah. I listen. I think you're making a great point here. I really do because I, I'm endlessly fascinated how we're coming off. If we look at the top five guys who've been the top five guys now for four or five seasons, Lamar had a massively disappointing year last year. And his head coach got fired eight and 19, right? Pat Mahomes was looked bad statistically and also got hurt
last year. Bro hasn't want to play off game in three years. Lamar, it was top five in every two, be wrecking. I mean, Josh Allen's was like the worst I saw was three. Josh Allen is unequivocally considered the best going right now, coming off a season where I should make the argument that he was never more less impressive. He was never, I mean, two years ago when he won a WG MVP, that was impressive last year and what he did, that was a dominant run game. That wasn't Josh Allen. That was awesome in that and necessarily in that. And he gets all the credit. And meanwhile, we watched him vomit all over his shoes in a playoff game against Denver. We had five turnovers and one of the worst interceptions I've ever seen in my life right before the half. All you do is sleepwalk in the second half of that game. And he makes it up against the patriots in the AFC title game. But I think this goes back to the idea of perceptions of what a top five quarterback makes. It's the hardest list to crack. Once you get in, you have bandwidth. I mean, Joe Burrow had been in the playoffs in three years. Joe Burrow has had health issues. He's still unanimously seen as a top five quarterback. Pat Homes has statistically not been a good quarterback
for three years. And they're the chiefs are coming off being a top 10 pick this last year. Still unanimously a top five pick. I mean, even Stafford, look at what Stafford's had to do just to go from like five to two and it happened. Well, Stan Stafford won the MVP last year. And if he'd had a game last year, again, it took that after already winning a Super Bowl with the Rams and beef up the individual stuff. And so there's an element of like how long it may be that's the litmus test here, right? How long did it take before Matt Stafford was a guy benefiting from finally being surrounded with the right amount of talent in LA to people actually giving him the credit for winning in spite of the head coach, in spite of the great defense or great players around it. Well, when in the case of Sam Darnal, it seems like it's been two years of great football now and he's not getting anywhere near that the accolade yet. And I just I just said, is this season going to be the season that tips him into that top five conversation where he can then hang out for a little bit with apologies to Jeff Phelps. We'll have to get to that later in the show is Sam Darnal great now the lead in five minutes on ninety two three the fan.
Opening win on the fan is presented by hands free sketches and slippens just step in and go. Dear writer coming up at about 40 minutes time Nick and JP back with you now we're talking about to Sean Watson speeding ticket earlier. I it isn't delicate situation because that my initial response is say I don't care. All right, I do care. I want all of these guys to be safe because I'd like any of these any anybody to place for the Browns or Guardians or calves. I'd love for them to live to see 90 because God knows they're going to have enough money to live very healthily until they're 90. I so I do care. I just in 2026 with everything else going on in the world with all the things I could be upset about to Sean Watson with 86 in a 60 just doesn't feel like I can muster up out right. It also just seems really funny the idea that if anybody thinks the Browns
are going to care about this. Yeah, you know what I mean? It just seems like being the line of the sand really would be you know what he's not going to start now. We don't take quarterbacks who speed around here when Shedore got the ticket. I think people were genuinely concerned and we're like, Oh, do the Browns have to do something? It's like, yeah, Shedore has been a boy scout his entire life like this is this is maybe maybe even just having a conversation with the police officer is a lot for Shedore. All things considered, right? But like to Sean is Sean's been through a lot off the field and the Browns have not really seemed to care about any bit of it. So like the speeding tickets not going to be in the world. I would be surprised if they even brought it up to him. Yeah. And they panty in a thing. So you know what? Sean old to Sean would speed too. Like you said, there's a way to bring life into him. Yeah, Houston to Sean used to go speeding all the time, right? 86 in a 60. That sounds about like 2019 to Sean Watson. I'm proud of you kid. Get back out there, speed racer. Just such an odd thing. And why why is it always Cleveland athletes that end up with these? I know our highways. Some of them they do ticket more than I
feel like other parts of the country. Is that all this is? No, I think that I think the stretch of highway where the Browns usually drive by is a pretty easy place to go faster than you realize. Oh, you think this was like one of those just he just he just wasn't paying attention. And that's how you get to 86. I think half of the reason we have 60 mile an hour highways around here is for people to get tickets. Yeah, I mean, yeah, there's a good take. I felt that one is at left. I was like, you know, I'm until big government of thing or two right up my head here. I'm like a modern day Michael Markcatch over there. Is that right? Yeah, lining up them political takes. He's so political. I just thought coming out of him. He is. He's got thoughts like you wouldn't believe me. I mean, and you start pretty benign, right? Like those those cameras, those flat cameras. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And before you know, you're going to full-blown dissertation on abortion. It is just I get it. You got opinions. You tell me I do not agree to these allegations. Those in the water. Yeah. Before you know it, he's telling us what to do. He's giving us topics in between the breaks. Try to get us to talk about it in the air. Yeah,
I was asking you if you had seen. You know, why are you waiting? Oh, my go why are you talking about political take and you ask us about it in between the break? I don't know what to tell you. Yeah, I really think it was a political take two days away from that anniversary. And you're asking us for those takes. Come on now. Mike in Orlando. Welcome to the show. Hey, good afternoon guys. How are you? Doing all right, Mike. What you got? Right, Mike. Hey, the the Sean Watson was going 26 miles an hour over the speed limit. You nailed it. Heaven, we all done 26 miles over the speed limits. Let's be honest. I don't know about that. I think they're actually a couple of people. Jonathan drives like a 97 year old person. That's true. I do. I've been behind you that. Enjoy the view. But what I thought of was that when that tweet came out, Miles Garrett read it and said, oh, my dear. Yeah. So he said, yep. Yep. So that's
my take on that. I mean, what's 26? All right, Mike. We've pretty much. That's even you're like, who isn't Kai? Who isn't just daydreaming and then ending up going 26 over? I'm like a lot of people. A lot of people are just accidentally hit 26 over. That's just like the idea that somehow we just Sean can't even impress a brown fan with this. It was my quarterback. He'd be 40 over. I mean, should or did hit the 90s and Bernie did say, and Bernie did minimize, you know, going 100 miles an hour back in the 80s. So if you're going to do something, you might as well be the best at it. The bigger go home, you might as well be the best at it. Acceptance speeding. Don't do that. Kids. No, no. I'm teaching a kid to drive and like, yeah, how's that going? No, she's actually great. That's what really is. Yeah, that's good. I always do feel like it's, you know, it's the type of thing that you are. You really have to stress to the kid. Obviously, like, hey, this isn't a toy. That'd be my big thing. I already know this is coming. I'm like,
this isn't a toy. No, that's going to be for the twins. Olivia is the most responsible 16-year-old. I've ever met in my life. She puts 16-year-old me to shame, 16-year-old my father to shame. She is conscientious, a hard worker, consider her. She naturally, I always thought that we were, our generation was naturally better at the, at just like, hey, we're learning how to drive because we all decrease in USA so much. But we spent so much time in the arcades and we were actually playing these like simulated car games that were real drive. It's like just as much as driving a car as anything else was. Yeah. For me, it's, I don't know that this generation does that the same way. My uncle used to refurbish tractors take the, the mower deck off and let us just drive around. You drive one or two of those things into a, I don't know, a sister and I'm speaking merely hypothetically, certainly not something I did. You were a sister with a tractor? No, no, I, no, I, sister, sister, like the, the septic thing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's good to say. It was the first time I ever drove a manual tractor where you click it up and, and down at a, in and out of
gear with your right foot. Sure. Sorry. You're left. No, you're right foot. I'll get there eventually. But I, I clicked up when I meant to go down or something like that and I, that thing jumped right into the sister and he's like, how did you miss it? It was, it was right there. It's like it was one foot in front of you. And I was like trying to explain it and he just wouldn't accept it and for the rest of his life, I ain't bleep about that sister. And you know, how many, you know, only Rex I've had since then one because I just knew that son of a, you know what was going to come out of nowhere, even now you can be a ghost and just come on and be like, oh, you didn't see that car there. You mean that you've been in one car accident in your life? My entire life. Yeah. The average is 10 years. Every 10 years we're supposed to get into car accident. That's the average. Well, I will, were you when you got your car accident? I was 20. Yeah. Oh, so you're due. Yeah. Well, thank you. Thank you. I needed to ask. I'm, I'm, I'm due as well, though, from being honest about it. I got, I got, I got an accident when I was like 17 years old. That was not my fault. The drunk driver was pulling out of a bar. It was, it was raining. I had no chance to stop.
Everything else, Nick has been five miles per hour or less. Yeah. Yeah. I got in a, I got in, in the span of like a five year stretch, I got in three different car accidents, but it was my fault, my fault in parking lots. Yeah. Yeah. For some reason, I don't treat parking lots with respect. I had to learn to treat parking lots with respect. In fairness, I would drive like a madman in parking lots. In fairness, you're not the only person that doesn't treat parking lots with respect. Real quick here. Let's go with Lou in North Royalton. Oh, sweet, we'll, sweet Lou. How's it going guys? We're doing. Listen, uh, where, where was, was he, did you say he was on 480? Yeah. Yeah. Was it in, was it in Cleveland? I do not recall. I didn't get that. I knew that information. Once upon a time, it had already forgotten it. Okay. Cause, yeah, uh, Cleveland is, it's not horrible, but anyways, um, the last guy said that what's 20, it was in Cleveland. It was 480 in Cleveland. Yeah. He said, what's 26 miles over speed limit? I mean, he, the challenge should be thanking the cop
that he didn't give him a, he gave him a speeding ticket because if you do 20 over the speed, uh, speed limit, the cop can give you a ticket for reckless operation, which is four point, four points on your license. Uh, and that is usually what DUIs, people that get DUIs, that's what they played down to. They played down to a reckless operation that looks better on your driving record for insurance purposes than, than, uh, a reckless operation. So, who would have thought the Sean's biggest legal problem in 2026 is an insurance issue. I'd say this is a step forward. Yeah, we're heading to the right direction. Yeah. Listen, I, um, one time, this was, I was, I was very young. This was like in the early 90s. My brother had, it was the first year that, um, Alpha Romeo, uh, imported the 164 luxury sedan into the United States and my brother had one. And we went down to Dayton. He drove down to Dayton and then I, I drove back and
I would have made it from usually a date takes about three hours, depending on how you drive, the three hours, three hours and 15 minutes. I would have made it from Dayton to Cleveland in an hour and a half. Uh, I was racing in Iraq. Uh, and I was, uh, doing at least one 40, one 45 and, uh, the cop got me on 71. He was coming in the opposite direction. It was in Mansfield. And, uh, he waited till I got on top of him. He turned the radar detector on, the radar on, and he, but I saw the light in, you know, turning around in the grass and he pulled me over. And he was, it was, he was not, he was really nice. I thought I literally was going to jail that night. Um, and, um, he looked in my car and saw that I had a radar detector and then he tells me he goes, I guess they hand this quicker than the eye, huh? And then, uh, he said, ask me, he goes, uh, do you know how fast you were going? I said, uh, no, sir, um, I was probably speeding, you know,
excessively. He goes, well, I clocked you at a harm five in, in a, in a 60. So, all right. Sweet Lou, we appreciate you. Thanks for sharing. All right. Yeah. Um, that is, this does bring to mind there that there are certain things that human beings can't help but share their, like, not one up in because that's not what sweet Lou did. But like one speeding ticket or one car crash story begets another in a way that is a little interesting for human beings. Well, I just, we've all done it, right? This is like the idea that no one wants to be, no one will ever accept being told they're a bad driver. Why? It's because you spend so much time in a car and everyone does it every single day. Uh, and so like there's like, you know, there's, there's a lot invested into that. So I think it's as simple as that. We, we just all do it. So there's a commonality there. And if the average is every 10 years, you get an accident. You've probably been in an accident. There's probably an interesting story that comes along with it. 216 474 0092 big deal, little deal or no deal. The Sean Watson go in 26 miles an hour over the speed limit. I got busted back at the end
of August there. Don't worry. It was after the emotional meltdown. It wasn't literally after, but several days after a big deal, little deal, no deal. We'll finally get to those three damning to Sean takes and you choose which one you agree with and which one you don't in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. Data writer coming up in about 15 minutes here. Nick and JP back with you in case we missed it coming up at 645 as well and Patriots Seahawks. Oh, yeah. That's coming up in the eight o'clock hour as well right here on 92 three. The fan is football is officially back. But Zach Jackson was on with the modern boys earlier today. And he had a trio of damning to Sean Watson takes. Is there one you want to go with first? Because I do think we get asked, we get asked three different people, which one of these is the most damning. And I think they might, they might
all have a different answer. Jackson03 is what I'd like to start with. All right. So this is Zach Jackson on Deshaun Watson and how we can challenge or not challenge NFL defenses. We did kind of catch wind towards the end of the available practices for media that the RPO stuff was a little more of an emphasis. You weren't going to really do that with Shedore. It's comical because he's not even fast and where he doesn't have one skill that challenges NFL defense. But yeah, you're right. That's probably what they're going to do. And really Todd hinted throughout the whole spring that experience and mobility had given lots in the edge. He outright said that a couple of times. He danced around it a few other times. So we probably aren't going to see that. But that to me is just comical. All right. If I was making a case that Deshaun Watson still has something left in the tank to to surprise people to, to, you know, get a surprise win over Jacksonville or play better than people think. The only case he might have
is mobility. But the problem is I've watched Deshaun look a touch slow each of the last three years. So I tend to agree with Zach, but like, yeah, it does seem like the Browns are banking on the mobility part, which makes me wonder what are they seeing that I'm not seeing and that I haven't seen for four years? And that's the big question. Why do they think mobility is going to be the answer for a guy that has only had surgeries and only had problems with his knees and his legs and trying to operate. And so, like, it's kind of embarrassing that that's the response and the answer. It's like he won because of experience and mobility and the mobility factor of it really isn't even a strength this point. So that is one damning claim. The next one was when Zach talked about the ceiling of the Browns offense with Deshaun at quarterback. Let's see how it goes. I think there's a real ceiling on it. And then you wonder how he mentally reacts to the very first thing that goes wrong. And so I expect the game plan that keeps him out of harm's way as much as possible for as long as possible. But how does he react and how does the team react to the first thing that goes wrong?
I mean, they're 9.00 dogs this week and 6.5.00 dogs next week. I mean, by NFL standards, that's pretty strong. They're not expected to perform well. And if they don't, you know, we know what could be coming. We don't know how it's going to go. But we haven't seen any of this and do things happen in early in NFL season. We saw that just last year. We see that every year, right? So I'm a little bit open-minded and not making firm predictions. But I just there's nothing that I've seen for the last six weeks or for four years. It tells me that this has any hope. So what I think is interesting about this is I'm open-minded that these skilled players, the Casey Concepciones, the Boston's, the Judy's, the Fanon juniors, the Quinchon-Jotkins, the Samson. I'm open-minded that those guys can make plays that that might be able with a great defensive performance to catapult you to victory. But the overall idea is the one of the more confounding ideas about D'Acheon is I do look at as a low ceiling offense. I don't necessarily, and I think
the Browns look at as a higher floor, which I disagree with. And I think if I'm going with a high floor, sorry, a high ceiling low floor or a low floor low ceiling, I just I really struggle with the idea that you would choose that last one we just talked about. You should always go for the highest ceiling possible in this equation, especially. I mean, both combustible. Well, yeah, exactly. But I think the interesting part about what Zach was talking about with D'Acheon, and then just kind of a, if you pull it back a little bit, it's just kind of fascinating to think about that he has to have this hot hand, so to speak. Baker had this. Baker always had Baker, and have stretches in games where he'd be like nine in a row, ten in a row, eleven in a row, passes completed. And I hadn't really thought about D'Acheon even though he should have maybe because of the the Bears game. And how that first preseason game went where it felt like he was doing well, he was completing passes and he got on rhythm. And then the first time it went wrong and went sideways, I'm telling you, if you game a whole game that first preseason game, that second half would have
been a disastrous. That's why they didn't. It was starting to spiral. It really was. And they got him out there just in enough time for people to be like, that was a good performance. That was fine. And nobody's going to bring up any of the awkward exchanges or the weird, almost fumble or factual fumble where he just took it back and just lost control of it. Yeah. You and I, by the way, you and I got crap for saying that was fine because we didn't just say, oh my god, D'Acheon is back. Right. I know. I know. And part of the reason why is because you saw at the end, again, if you gave him that whole game, it was going to melt down. There was no other way of looking at it. And so I think what happened in the second game, Nick, is I think it just started off rough and it just kept going and kept staying rough. And when he puts himself into a hole, it seems like it's impossible for himself to bury his way out of it. And so I think I think Zach touches on something that I think should be should be prevalent. Like if he starts off with the hot hand, can he keep that going? Is that what he needs? And if he starts to struggle, is he just going to continue to struggle? All right. Now here's the third damning take of Zach Jackson talking about
the potential lease and over under for how much we're going to see D'Acheon Watson. I put the over under at 10 and a half quarters. So now if he makes it to the over, then he probably makes it through the first month because it'd be hard on that short week. But I just don't know what anybody sees in this. And I don't know anybody outside the building that sees what they see. I mean, we've seen this guy play. We know what it looks like. You hear the coach say body of work and we know his body of work. So how two years later could it be any better? This one actually might be the most damning. And remember, the first one was he doesn't have one skill that challenges NFL defenses. That is a dagger through the heart of the D'Acheon you got to believe thing. It's unrecoverable. The last one is I will see that was like the best defense of the offense with the Sean. But when you say I set the over under at 10 and a half quarters and nobody outside of the walls of the organization see what they see in this guy. I don't know you
recover from that level of damning when we talk about this. Like that to me was the most damning thing we heard. Yeah, I mean, I just, you know, I think Zach's words carry a little bit more weight because he's there every single day. And him speaking the way that he speaks like I can't tell you how wowed people need to be or how often people need to be paying attention to this stuff. But we've this is nothing new for us though. We've been talking about this for how long and the only the only answer he's got back or the only clap back. He's got back because he's got to show us in week one that we're all idiots. And we don't know what we're talking about. Well, and I think conversely, this is why the Browns, if it gets really ugly on Sunday, you can't hesitate. If Todd Munkin wants to set the winning tone and in Deshaun Watson looks like a broken toy. All right, I'll listen to the idea. I'll keep an open mind. He might be able to run the offense at a proficient level, which he should be able to do 10 years in the NFL. But if the guy who showed up in that Buffalo game shows up against Jacksonville, you cannot put him out there for a full game.
And again, I'm saying the most extreme version of this. I'm not saying that's the most likely thing to happen. Although I do think Deshaun is going to look more broken than fixed on Sunday. But if he looks unplayable, you owe it to yourself. You owe it to that locker room to have the quickest hook ever because between one half a football and certainly what we saw from Deshaun about three Saturdays ago, you've heard the truth. You can only hear the truth so many times and not listen. Well, that's what the Browns, but that's that was drunk. But that's what the Browns always test that theory. The Browns continually test that idea right there that you brought up. Like you can only hear it so many times or see it so many times. And the Browns always go with the answer. Well, I don't know that Houston, Deshaun might it might creep around the corner. Like you think they're going to answer themselves. Did we find out about Houston, Deshaun? If we can if Munkin can do something that's to Fanski couldn't you think they're going to do that in a half a football. They're not going to do that in a half a football. If he looks just bad, is he to get Buffalo. Yes. If it's your I yes for them. No, no, no chance for them. I don't think it's equal. They don't have a good that's what we're dealing with.
Todd Munkin can't run from the truth. That guy that guy's far too on will not be able to convince himself that in a half a football, even if he throws four interceptions and looks like he can't even throw the football forward. If he looks like Nathan Peterman, I bet you he can see the truth. I think I think the front office and I also think Todd Munkin, that's the hard reality in all this is they haven't been able to see the truth. They're and they're not going to have like a eyes wide open awakening to Dishon Watson in that moment in that half of the game. They're going to they're going to at least give themselves the full game and I'd be shocked if it wasn't anything more than that. I mean, it's just it's it's it's how this works. I was thinking eyes wide shot. I was like that's a very suggestive reference for Wednesday at 555, even if it is a. Oh, dude, down rider in five minutes on 92 three, the fan. It's the six o'clock hour. Come on step on a duck on afternoon drop. One hour to go, Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peterlyn with the off course. We got the Browns preview show coming up in one hours time. Come up in two hours time. The coverage of the Browns, the Browns, the

If you guys missed a moment of today's show though, you can listen back in the free Odyssey app. Don't forget you can also watch all five hours on 92 to do the fans YouTube channel. Make sure to subscribe. It is free. All right, you like free. Don't you ring that bell, except you corn, Lido suck it corn, Lido. And like our videos, we desperately need to be liked around these parts, but with all that being said, it is a hump day. And when I think a hump days, I think a derro rider are 92 to defend Cleveland sports reporter brought to you by Shive and jewelers Cleveland's premier jewelry store. Darryl, how you doing, buddy? Oh, Darryl. I'm good guys. How are we? Happy hump day. I mean, football is back. Yes. Yes. Get to watch a game tonight that actually matters. Even, I mean, it's it's honestly, it's a replay of one of the worst super balls we've had recently. Hey, maybe it'll be different
this time. That's true. That's true. Second viewing. Second view. I think it's exactly two. I think it was exactly the same as last year's Super Bowl. I would have been pissed. I'm serious. I'll be walking around my house. I know people are saying that Calci, uh, that betting the under, I think it's 44 and a half that that is a popular thing that there have been one or two heavy, heavy bets on the under. All right. Good to pay attention to you. Look at this. I like this inside access. I hate Calci, but I am fascinated by people to do stupid things with a lot of money. All right, Darryl. Uh, let's get here. De Shon Watson today said, what buffalo game? And, uh, he also talked about, you know, he's only looking forward here. How certain are you that what he's saying is what he actually believes? Yeah, I, again, uh, I think he's talking, trying to talk himself into some stuff because remember, uh, about the whole booing thing, right? He was asked going into the, the game if, uh, you know, uh, he was worried about being booed and he said, I didn't care. And then clearly, he cared because of his comments after the game. So I, I think he's trying to talk himself into
stuff and, and trying to maintain his positive of an outlook is he possibly can considering the situation being what it is. And that's why I asked him if he's taken the Todd Munkin approach, right? You're going to go out there and play carefree is, uh, you know, you're going to be able to not worry about anything because I mean, let's be honest about there are no expectations that this guy is going to have much of a positive impact for the Cleveland Browns. This season. So, uh, I, I think he really is Nick trying to talk himself into, I'm not worried about anything. I feel good. I'm not worried about the, the, the, the preseason game and how awful, I, I played and then all those things. So I'm not buying any of it, but we're going to find out on Sunday because that's when the truth gets told. And did Munkin put an end to the backup quarterback discussion? Or was there just a missed follow up there with the idea then of like, all right, so you answered what happens with the backup and Chador, but you didn't answer really what happens with Taylor and Green? Yeah. Well, I, I kind of feel like he did in the sense of he, he told us on
Monday, he doesn't want to have three active quarterbacks. So I think that that answered the question. And watching practice today, at least the portion that was open to reporters and I'm going to be very clear. We get to see very little. Okay. Uh, we basically get to see handoff stretching and throwing to wide receivers with no defenders anywhere to be seen, which means that perfect throws and perfect catches. There should be zero footballs on the ground. And I, I feel bad for informing you. There were footballs on the ground. So that, that did happen today. Oh, really? The, the, the, the cut ups of the Sean Watson deep passes the one to Jerry Judy, the one to Isaiah Bond. Yeah, they look, they, they, they didn't look nice. And that, that was the best of what they had to offer. Okay. I thought that was intentional. By the way, Darryl, I don't know if you read it, you read on that was the same as mine. Almost like a, like a three point shooter. Just need to see the ball go through the net. Just just watching to Sean throw it 45 yards
and connecting, even if it's against air. Is there something mentally that's got to work there? I, I, I kind of feel like that. Yeah, they were showing off a little bit in front of us today. Which was fine. Whatever. Um, but yeah, I, I kind of feel like, um, the tail and green package, just based on what I saw in practice as far as like backup quarterback reps. It sure looked like should or Sanders is the number two quarterback. All right, Darryl. Uh, there's this little thing called a Browns game on Sunday against the Jaguars. And we do, we should probably ask since Ross asked us, how do you say Jacksonville's team name? I say Jaguars. I do not say Jaguars. Wires or whatever that, you don't say wires. You don't say Jaguars, which is very popular in this area. Yeah. I say Jaguars. Hmm. All right. How do you say the, the Sanders first name? Shedur. Okay. You're two for two. We're really proud of you. We like you. We never doubted you by the way. I mean, we, we, of course, that's why you asked. We also made sure to bet against you on the
CalSue markets, but that was just business. All right. Um, I hope you, I hope you made lots and lots of money at my expense. No, I work in radio. I can say, I make a lot of money. I make no money. But usually, no, not going to finish that sense. Don't need to. I love you. That's all I'm going to say, Darryl. What do you think the most likely outcome for Sunday is for the Browns? Well, I, I'm not picking them to win. Uh, and just basically hoping for a competitive game. But I think that that's the most likely outcome. That's the best outcome is this competitive game. The Browns keep close and hopefully they have a shot at the end. Uh, Darryl, we did talk about the report from Fox eight with DeShon Watson in this speeding ticket and him saying he's not guilty. Uh, 86 and a 60. I, I would imagine the Browns. I don't think they're going to really, there's nothing really that's going to happen with this. What's your read? No, I think they just talked to them and that's that. Well, they even bothered to go through the, the, like the talking part of this with DeShon.
I mean, he didn't get one right after the trade as well. And then, um, I think this is the first one since that incident. Um, it's such a good streak. Yeah. He, it was good streak while it lasted. And I listen, he got caught, right? I mean, that's the, I don't think that's the first time since that he's done this, but this is the first time you got caught. So, yeah, plead not guilty to it. So not owning up to the charge. Uh, you are right. Uh, June 11th, 2022, a few months after the Browns did trade for Watson. He was stopped in the Ohio turnpike near Sondaski. He was going 97 in his 70. He did ultimately pay that ticket, though. Also, I don't think of the turnpike. I pay for those streets, sir. Yeah. I, if I want to go 97 in the 70, I'm sorry. That's, that's the right to speed on the turnpike. It's, but it's basically the American auto bonn if I'm paying seven dollars to drive 12 miles. Yeah. My read on this is pretty simple, though. 26 miles per hour in the one here and then 27 in the one in June of 2022. He's consistent.
He's consistent. He likes to be that 26, 27 over. Yeah. And by the way, by the way, he, he hadn't been ruined as a player yet. So this could be proof that the Sean's getting back to that, uh, that, that 2020 2021 form. He might be back. It's true. We'll see. And the streets told us. We're the highways told us. They told us. Yeah. We're searching for anything, right? That's what we're doing. Most days, yeah. What's a hot or not? We're not searching too far or long, though. We've got to make that abundantly clear. Now, uh, Darrell, what's a hotter take, uh, from my Nick doc that, uh, I have predicted the records of the four teams in the AFC North that Pittsburgh will be seven and 10 or that the Browns will be eight nine. I think the Browns eight nines a hotter take. Show your work. I, well, I think it's going to be flipped. I think it's going to be the Steelers that will have, uh, uh, the, the, the better record. But, um, yeah, I, I don't think that the Browns have eight wins in them because they don't have the quarterbacks to do it. So that,
that's basically my work in the Steelers. Look, they are always, uh, close enough to mediocrity. And, uh, it just, it doesn't matter what they do, what quarterbacks they throw out there, uh, what I, I just, they always find a way to win, way to win anywhere between eight and 10 games. They usually find a way to backdoor their way into wildcard weekend, only to find themselves run off, uh, run off the field in wildcard weekend and packing their bags for vacation shortly thereafter. So, um, I, I think that the, the, the quarterback situation here in Cleveland is, it's not great. And by not great, I'm trying to be very, very kind heading into the season opener and not be overwhelmingly negative because I was given, uh, uh, uh, Jake at night, some, some, uh, grief over that, but, um, over being overly negative. But, um, the, the quarterback situation here in Cleveland is not good at all. Darrell, I want you to know that you're not going to be the
first person that I scream. I told you so into a phone. That's going to be a rush talker. Yeah, it's funny. It's fine. You go right ahead. The second one is going to be Nick Shook. Okay. Uh, and then you will get probably the third call from me as I laugh into the phone. I'm in the top five. That's all I care about. I'm in the top five for I told you so I'm good. Yeah. You haven't enraged me thusly yet. But at some point, you could push yourself into the top spot if you want. I don't know. Ross Tucker said I needed a lie detector test today. So you're going to have to go a little bit farther and to go a little bit, a little bit farther than that. Yeah. No, I'm not going to go that far. But, uh, I am very confident that the Pittsburgh Steelers will finish ahead of the Browns and the standings and the Browns will finish probably where they usually finish. And that's last place. Darrell, can you give us any insight into what's happening with Tefin Jenkins? Well, uh, I mean, he, he left practice, uh, or walked off the field, I should say, uh, we, we, we, able to see that. And then when you look at the injury report that, uh, the,
the, the Browns had to send out, um, it, you know, they listed him with a back injury back, you know, back spasms, I think is probably what it most likely is. We also learned that what kept Carson Swessinger out for a couple of weeks, some sort of a shoulder injury, but did not limit him today at all. And then, you know, uh, Mollie Collins, we knew about him coming back from quadriceps injury and, and Parker Brillsford, the rookie center, been dealing with a thumb injury. We knew he had some apparatus, uh, brace or whatever on his hand. We saw that because he, it was doing some, uh, rehab side work there, uh, during media availability, uh, in camp. But, yeah, I'm guessing back spasms for, uh, Tevin Jenkins. And that's probably why Todd Monkin today went asked about the right guard spot did not want to be absolute in saying that it was going to be, uh, Tevin Jenkins, their Sunday against Jacksonville. Darrell, what would you be
less likely to sign up for a lie detector test or one of those detectors they put on your deal. And then they show you pictures of, you know, like, assimilating things to determine what gets you going, which one of those would you be least likely to sign up for? I'm going to say, uh, be. All right. So my idea was, because I think lie detector test have gotten too easy. The books out on it, right? A lot of good things. I can't lie. Anyway, I get myself in trouble all the time. Anytime I try and lie, it's on my face. I'm lying. I'm the best person to play poker against. Yeah, it's not good for me. Did J.P. is about to say and I think the liars have put out the way to beat these tests. It makes things they can beat these tests. There's a lot of days. He's never taken one, but he thinks he can beat one of these. I just don't think he can't put it in your shoe or something. Just like he's stepping on it. I think you put a couple YouTube videos on, and I'm not talking about the deal one. I'm talking about you put a couple, then you kind of learn a couple techniques. That'll be, uh, you'll find that on only, uh, only fans for
Nick Wilson does. And Nick Wilson does. Uh, but I gotta be honest with you. I think if we, if you, if you had like a experiential podcast of log, whatever, where, what are the, what are the names for these things? By the way, this other one you're talking about. Uh, I don't even know. I just know they've never, I've never even seen one of these. Yeah, I just, uh, I don't deal detector. How do I even go about googling this? I need to find out more info on this. I would wait to get home, Jonathan. Do not do that on any company computer. I just got some rest kit. We've got like one IT guy. Yeah, we're cool. Um, they'll find this out. They've been getting me. And now, all right, but get back to what he's doing right there on the start. Uh, you think hot ones is a good show, right? Hey, we're going to have you on a lie detector to deal detector. And then we're not going to tell you whether you're going to have to answer a question or see a scintillating photo. Uh, your wires would be so crossed that truth would have to come out. I would definitely not sign up for any of this. Yeah. No. What if it went viral, Darryl?
And all of a sudden you were on bar stool that that is not the way to go viral. You'd have to say problematic stuff, but they pay well from what I've heard. Uh, well, I'm going to, I'm, I'm going to stay away from that. That's fair. I found the name. What was it? Definitely don't want to step can you say it on air? I like deal detector. A penile plethemograph. Okay. All right. I think deal detectors better. A plethemograph. It's a medical forensic device used to measure changes in blood flow and size as an objective indicator of a rousal. Okay. Yeah. So it looks pretty problematic. I'm going to be I think Nick is safe with deal detector. Yeah. I like to say for, but I need to know the medical term line detector versus deal detector. Right? Sign the up for the line detector every time. Yeah. No, no, no, you're going to have to sign up for both of them. That's the that's the that's the bit. Kind of looks like a whip. Hmm. Well, this is also
it would be it would be it would be digging right now. Let me tell you. Darryl got its own Wikipedia page. It's been a real pleasure. Jonathan has been great working with you. I would have had fun. By the way, if all the things I said today, if that got you in trouble first, me, I will say me, wait, hold on me. Yeah. Yeah. Cause I had deal detector. I said the size of the people. I told you the medical name. I know, but I can't believe that Jonathan actually looked that up. I'm curious. You're an Iphone. Darryl. I'm a curious human. I got to get your mind out of this works. And apparently there's a lot of critiques and the method, the methodology attached to this is a lot of problems associated with this. In fact, these are just like the lie detector. These suggestion on Wikipedia is that your lie detector test is way more accurate than what this is going to be. I think there's a lot of guys not want to cop to a kink and being like that. That's not what gets me going. I think there's a lot of guys that aren't comfortable saying, saying what they're into. Apparently a lot of real value comes from this for people that suffer from ED and being able to detect that early on as if there's another
really gives it is not obvious. I guess. But like there's a lot of there's a lot of medical uses for the people's a part of their life while doing, we could do a deal or no deal. That's what we call it. Do you have to take any medication before you? Well, no, I think that would, I think that would blur the results. Yeah, the medication would just be used as evidence in court unless the technique was generally accepted as reliable in the scientific community and it is just not. Look at that. It is just not. It is just more ways than one. Darryl, it's been a pleasure. Like later there. Yeah, thank you. Brought to you by Shyvon Jouler's Cleveland's premier jewelry store. Pretty adamant. That just does not mean any legal threshold at all. The detector or lie detector. Is it box office? You tell me we'll react to what Darryl had to say and get into something. No one's asking for, but you're going to get it in five minutes on 92 through the fan. In case we missed it coming up in just about 15 minutes time, Nick Wilson, Jonathan Peter, then we do have the Browns preview show coming up at seven.
Grant Delphit Brown Safety. Nice. Love Grant Delphit. Yeah, that'll be always a great interview too. So make sure to stay tuned to that and of course, TNF. It's a Wednesday. We don't have it. It's not like Wednesday night football. That would be ridiculous. Don't be when we're getting there. We're making a freaking sense. We are getting there. You want to rail against that, don't you? Not really. It just I just, I, we don't annoy today at the amount of people that are like, why are we playing on a Wednesday? You got football back. Get us together people. We needed Wednesday football more than we needed air to breathe right now. Okay. Okay. I don't know. It's such a football drought. I don't care that it happened on a Wednesday. You do this in a week. Maybe I got an issue with what's going on. Never ever an issue was starting the season earlier. This took way too long. They're literally going to do it the day before Thanksgiving. I'm good with that. No. I'm good with that. No, I'm good with that. No, I'm sorry. I, it's all fun. It's so fun every day of the week. What do I care? I'm going to watch it anyway. It's something nice to watch as I'm, you know, when I get home, I'm, I'm thrilled with it. Give me as much as much and as often as you want.
Everyone complains about if we get to 20 regular season games, it's going to dilute the product. And I say, nay, nay, having a game every day of the week, that will dilute the product. You still get your Friday. You still get your Tuesday. You still get your Saturday. Yeah. No, because at, at points, we have Saturday games, uh, late and winter. We also have, we get Saturday games. The only thing we don't have is a Tuesday or Friday game. Give the NFL five years. They'll figure it out. Oh Friday, because the law is, it's going to be really hard to do. The Tuesday game, Tuesday, billion dollar corporations have never changed laws on a win. Tuesday is coming. We have, there's, there's high school ramifications. There's all sorts of things that are in fact. You think, Brian, you're going to give so rats ass about high school ramifications. You think he hasn't already tried to go ahead and get Friday games? Oh, I don't know. There's a reason why they do the Friday game that they're able to right now and put it at three o'clock. They much rather put it at seven. There was so easy to get around this stuff. They'd already have it at seven o'clock. I know. It just takes time and money and they have both of those things to the NFL. Yeah, they've been trying. They've been trying for years to get that done. That one, I don't know that that's ever going to happen. I really, I truthfully don't.
You, you underestimate no, because they've been trying. They've been trying really hard for a long time. And you notice they haven't stopped. They haven't gotten it done. Yeah. That much like the 20 game regular season because of college football and high school football. That one might actually be a real one. What I love about you is that you think anything sacred in America. It's not that sacred. I just think that's so you just think that they've unlimited power and unlimited money and it's going to be able to pull it off because you see all sorts of examples of that being the case in America. But they've been trying. You're actually like they like haven't even given it a a hardy try yet. They've been trying for a decade plus to get Friday night football going again. There's a reason why their games are already at three o'clock on Friday because they had he have to adhere to that law. That was easy as just throwing money at it and then throwing around their power. Then it would have already been done. And let me ask it. 20 years ago, did we have football games on Fridays? No. Okay. So we've made headway. Is that what I'm understanding? We've made all that money, all that power, all that influence has made a headway on Fridays already. You got a three o'clock game that is you could have done 20 years ago if you wanted to. That's just that's adding games
within the within the construct of the wall and you can flip from three to seven pretty quick. No, you can't. That's where the wall comes in. That's where this problem is coming. I love the way you're thinking. That's where this problem is. There's a reason why they had to put it at three o'clock. Do you think they're like three o'clock in three o'clock in three o'clock? You think that was a great game for them? Yeah. No, they were much rather preferred seven o'clock. The wall says they can't right now. So they can't. Right now. Operative terms. Right now. They've been fighting for a long time to get rid of this turn to right now. That's why I'm so blown away. I'm being right now. Like, oh, do you all just sell this is an old honey moment for you? So so so night. It's just like a hard at moment. No, they've been trying really damn hard for a long time to play Friday night football. They've not been able to circumvent that yet. It's like when some of like the 25 year old guys we have working here when like a pretty girl walks by and they go, oh boy. She's a lady. That's what you are right now for the NFL and Friday night football. If they have the power and the money that you suggest that they have, they would have had the ball already changed. They don't have a change for a reason. They've been trying for 15 years. Yeah. And that is
that is a pittance of time in the in the grand cosmos of the NFL. Pittance of time. It's a whole time good. That was been in trial. It took us about the 25 years of constant push to get weed legalized and it's not illegal. I know so much power and so much money took 20 years to get anything done. Yes. Yes. That is. Yes. Yes. And declining morals while I'm at it. Let me get on my soap box and declining morals and these phony baloney politicians. That felt good. He's a real good. He powered. Yeah. They're phony and baloney. I'm gonna say it and it rhymes too. Yeah. Are you gonna tell me politicians aren't phony baloney there? Not making that defense. Okay. I didn't know how Pauline and I were gonna get over there. I'm making that defense. Speaking of things that make people nauseous, Kirk Herbstreet's dog, Pina, has a merch store. That's a pop up store. So it's going to be following the college game day crew, but currently it's it rests upon baton Rouge. Now the nice side of this, a percentage of sales will support local
veterinary schools. We don't know what that percentage is. And or it's about 2%. And actually, another 5% is going towards getting NFL football on Fridays at seven o'clock. And or dog focused organizations, which by the way, dog focused organizations, you could really get liberal with the language of that. Yeah. I need more direct. I need more like this is going to the I you know, you know, the problem I have when it comes to certain charities. Yeah. Certain charities that they act as if they're like they're doing the greater good, but the reality is that so much of the money is just going to the CEO. So they're not nearly as much as this is right. There we go. Not nearly as much towards the actual, you know, problem that you're trying to fight. The reaction to this. I live in a world where there's a lot of stuff I don't like. And most of the time, I might mutter something under my breath, maybe send like a really snarky tweet about it, but most of the time, I just keep going about living my life. Yeah. People cannot do that with Kirk Herb Street's
dog. I don't know what this dog did to people. I don't know what Herbie did to people other than predict and call college football and NFL games. But the insidious relationship that social media has with Kirk Herb Street's dog. Guys, if you don't like this, don't shop at it and it'll go away. That's how this one kind of works. I think I have more of a problem with the people that shop at the dog store. The dog store existing. Or buy a photo of Kirk Herb Street's dog and walk around with that. I actually like the over you are all with a cute puppy. You have actually that's not mine. That's Kirk Herb Street's dog. Who's Kirk Herb Street's dog? He's an announcer I really like. It does like college football games. So why do you have his dogs face on your shirt right now? Well, I just I think it's fine. Actually, I think you're being very dismissive of the dog. I think what they would say is that's Peter Herb Street. And that coup and be like, oh, Peter Herb Street. He's a big star. He's a nationally televised star in the sports world. Have you ever given your dog, or at least ever introduced your dog? He's like a mongo Wilson and
done the last name with it. It's insane. No, no, it's insane. And not just that, but I am. Boone Tunes behavior. I am vehemently opposed. It dogs having human first names. My cousin, my uncle had a dog, a bass at Hound, a Hound dog called Mike. Yeah. And I just remember thinking like that's that's like a my uncle was a 40 year old mechanic with cancer named Mike. That's what Mike goes to. Not a dog. Not a beagle. That's what it was. It was a damn beagle. No, I agree. I always felt like dog names should be more comical than anything. And that's that's where you get to name. And I always named it after like baseball players I liked and little things like that. That's where that falls in place. Yeah. But hey, a Margaret, get over here. Margaret. Like that. Just like you can't even have fun with your dog names. Okay. I got I got to imagine the people who just oh, solely named their dogs human names. I couldn't think of anything else. The least fun planet. Like you could take him to Amsterdam,
to any of those different places that they have. And they would be like, you guys got a dog museum around here. You guys, anybody got any cool pennies? That's what they sound like. Yeah. And dog museum and cool pennies. Yeah. Yeah. Lane. Are you talking about like the little penny see literally be I put like the little like stamp it down. Sex show going on. They're like, oh boy, look at this new app I have on my phone there. What kind of app is it? I don't know. It might be a good app. Tells me the weather, but in Russia. Oh, I got a call. Darryl. Okay. Darryl be a ridiculous dog name. You know, there are a lot of people with first name. Oh, just pissed right now. Whatever. It's probably like half the listening audience. And the dog community is gunning for your boy right now. Suzy or something. They're a wiffed. That's Susie is kind of funny. Yeah. It's funny because Suzanne would be
ridiculous. Okay. Okay. See? I pick up one putting down. In case you missed it in five minutes on 92 three, the fan.
