Full Show: A.J. Brown's Disastrous Patriots Debut

0:00That's that right away. I'm not ruined for injuries. I don't want AJ Brown to get hurt. That's that's not with a source of my excitement came from last night But what you that was why not and it was a nightmare for the Patriots That was a nightmare for AJ Brown's debut for the Patriots and I couldn't be any happier that was awesome Everything about that was great. So last night plays that right. It's a slow-star for AJ It doesn't get the ball in the first drive They throw a couple catches early, but nothing big. Yeah Drake may miss his him early on a flea flicker I mean Drake may was awful last night. I mean just horrendous. So may miss his amount of flea flicker It would have been a big touchdown that way. Yeah, that would have put me in that that would have put me in a nice little spot Yeah, that would have been I told you so Douglas today But they don't get it that so they score and then you know, San Donald gets hurt And you're like oh wow this is gonna be a first of all done a game and second It's gonna be an easy Patriots win and AJ is probably gonna catch touchdown late And I'm gonna have to hear all that crap tomorrow and then the opposite happens AJ goes down We'll see how bad that injury is but did not look good and the Patriots blow that game three Interceptions by May and the fourth could we hear the last one because this is a great call by Kevin Harlan

2:02I want to walk down it's the first game right but it was It was different than the games that we saw last year at the beginning of the season It felt like it was more of a running game It felt like it was more of a ground game not granted our game the first game of the season Was was kind of like that as well But then the weekend games everybody was throwing the ball all over the school yard So tonight we got another game fortunately So maybe they're throwing the ball all over the school yard But that was the one thing that stuck out to me last night when you talk about the Romeo dives And the fact that they got AJ the the Patriots that is I automatically assume that that was gonna be their bread I thought they were gonna try to throw the ball. Well, they tried well I mean, but I'm talking about at the beginning of the game It felt like they they were it was more emphasis on the run and to your point We were talking about it. It might the defensive just it might be a defensive league this year I think I think I think it's been a defensive league for a few years now We're all realizing it I mean you think about the last few years right the Eagles to see Hawks yeah Defences has been star work see Hawks started again last night. They still paying them quarterbacks

3:02Well, maybe they shouldn't pay him as much because the defense is winning these games. I mean last night I look Darnal goes out and I just think the typical feeling is all right It's early in the game Darnal does out the other team as the guy that finished second in the MVP last year they have AJ They're probably gonna win this game right and They did not he that You know what your last night was last night was one of those days You just have a big smile on your face like it's like I watched to hate the Patriots I watched to hate AJ last night and it's absolutely it played out you couldn't you couldn't have pictured like if you're in New England and your Patriots fan you got to feel like crap this morning your quarterback played like garbage last night May was the first pick up he would pick the way left on right where he left off that's he off team Ownson I mean that last interception was a joke and then the AJ Brown factor He's supposed to move the needle for that team and he goes down and look This is not the same kind of injury as last year. He has had hamstring injuries last night He got his ankle rolled up totally different, but I said this the whole time we talked about trading AJ I think his body's breaking down. I don't know how much I don't know how much great football's left in the tank for AJ Brown and last night

4:03He goes out he can't come back. We'll see when he does come back and how he impacts the season But that was awesome like you to me you could not have drawn up a more fun start to the season and I know The other side of the coin is see ox win Eagles could compete with them for a postseason spot or a you know Maybe home field that well We've got a long way to go on that last night I the small picture of AJ having a bad night and the Patriots having a bad night that would make you feel good It made me feel good listen Let me tell you and I hope he feels like crap this morning as he watches May throw three picks Uh, ain't none wrong ain't none wrong with feeling like that man, you know as an Eagles fan, you know AJ has given us a lot of angst. 25:45Yeah they got after Joe we saw it all year last year and they did it last time without Nick Eman-Warrior their safety who's a long-rangey player that was a big part of their team last year They lost a couple guys in the offseason McDonnell's a really good coach. I mean, you know, you know May Struggled and he was bad But like they did that to a lot of teams last year that they did it to May in the Super Bowl They did it to you know They did it to Brock Purti in the division around I mean they probably would have done it to us if we played them last dream like that defense is You know what it feels like you watch the Seahawks defense It feels like when I watched them they have 12 or 13 people on the field They're playing with too many folks. Yeah, it's like how do they have all these arms and people knocking the ball down And they're everywhere it just shows the speed they have and how well they're coached that they're They're obviously an awesome team Terrence in springfield us up. 26:47but Drip man without their thorn hospital balls man. He was throwing Hospital balls and those kind of things. Dylan hurts Don't do he want to do to you. You know as you bow. He did all this stuff man for this to start off like this It's kind of it's kind of like karma. I don't want to say it's karma But it kind of like karma hitting you right in the face man and I'm pretty sure At a point during this season as it browns going to think about does I make the right decision? Was this the right move and to me it might connect to buying them guys and I do feel like Dylan Hurtz is going to have a great start to this season Everybody doubt them right now guys everybody We have a question about the offense and That's true. We say I have questions about the offense But I feel like he is going to the mission this year. I feel like Dylan Hurtz has something to prove The started season both of those guys looks sloppy and this is a test guy. If people get an injured We saw a dog at her. We saw Eddie Brown got hurt. You guys need to start playing

27:48I have to in a preseason because their bodies not warm up You know what do you lock the good last night because you played the whole preseason That's why you look good last night Collinsworth was on this during the broadcast you last night that he thought in a second The patriots looked physically tired and his theory wasn't what Terrence was talking about The starters don't play in the preseason It's the first time they've played this many snaps in since last year. Yeah This the NFL I think is gone too far in this direction now all almost all the teams do it right So it kind of evens its way out but you I think Terrence is right. I think Collinsworth is right the patriots looked tired in the second half Which is there it's wild they just had a training camp to get ready for the season And they don't really prepare themselves for the season well because this is they want people healthy And and I made it I said it took a cheat last night You know when I tweeted out that's why you don't play in the preseason when when uh Sam don't got hurt But there's a there's a there's a thin line between there is you know what I mean getting ready and protecting yourself

28:48Exactly you have to figure that line out But teams that went and you know what you know what it was the the cba I think when they when the players negotiated the cba They negotiated for for for less physicality less practice time on the field and and even though we still watch It's hurt the game a little bit. It has it's hurt the game. Yeah. Yes But it's it's given a lot of players are a little bit more longevity You know so it's you gotta find a happy medium Here we know we we always see this though even last year We see a lot of players go down on them again in the season because their bodies not warmed up from from not having them But like even playing a half a couple of series to get your body up the par These their bodies not ready. They're still in preseason mode And that's why that's why I like I have to go on down and that's why we saw a they go down Uh also me from a hospital bar. That was a bad throw by Drake May I don't know he's in a horrible sense to the playoffs And I feel like we need to calm down on his Drake May put them on a pedestal guys

29:50They have that the last year they had a last place scheduled this year They have one of the toughest casual show.
