We have in the news a lot lately the situation of religious honest areas closing all the rest of it. And a lot of times this pressure is external from outside the church. We on this channel we tend to focus on usually what happens to nuns.

1:01The typically too conservative or too traditional of of nuns groups and nuns convinced place to communities. They'll make one mistake that is unforgivable of some kind of another. There's a few that they can make. Most recently one group of nuns basically in Europe declared that Vatican II was not legitimate. And that was all it took for the bishop to come down on them and to start closing up the shop and see them in the land. But sometimes the forces at play here are external forces. Little life site for this one. Gotta be careful with the with the language here. Because if you use that word on screen there on YouTube they come down on you like the wrath of God at times. That line. This Catholic abbot is standing strung against stone cutter forces trying to confiscate his monastery. And the phase has faced years of persecution for defending the rights of his 900-year-old

For three hours a Catholic abbot in Romania faced down the police, awaiting their arrest at the steps of his abbot church for having refused to hand over the property of a 900-year-old monastery to be stone-cutter lobby within the local government. On February 23rd, Norbertine abbot and Zamfez stood at the entrance of his abbot church dedicated to our Lady of Soros in Orodea, Romania, openly awaiting arrest by the Indarmes, following the announced eviction of the abbot from his own monastery, scheduled for 10 a.m. that morning, by city authorities. Crowds of Catholic faithful showed up to the abbot church, however, surrounded by abbot and Zam and a show of support to protect him against the stone-cutter lobby of a radio, which sought the abbot's eviction in order to seize the property the centuries old Catholic norbertine monastery. With the story making international headlines, local authorities gave the order to police to stand down and postpone the abbot's eviction and what locals called an unexpected

4:09and long-trade for, miracle. The Leopoldo Institute assisted in highlighting the plight of abbot and Zam, making known his situation to members the United States government and ecclesiastical authorities in Rome. The abbot's defense of church property against seizure by the state harkens to the famous examples in church history of saints and bishops, standing up to powerful government authorities and defense of the rights of the church. And it goes over the history of St. Ambrose doing this. Let's talk about this for a moment. We're used to in America, Canada, stone-cutters like the very public ones in their little lodges. We're kind of used to them being on the surface harmless. You don't really see them out doing anything evil in word. The images that we have from St. Maximilian Colby almost seem like ancient history. You know, these are the guys who drive around. Maybe they have a little cars with a little weird little stickers on them, but they do charity works. They can't be that bad,

5:09right? That's what we hear. And, you know, most of the time for most of them, it's just an old old boys club of, you know, having a couple of adult beverages behind closed doors and networking for professional reasons. That's generally what we hear these days. What are the history like this that make you realize that this ancient enemy of the church founded formally in the early 18th century, but the work to found their organizations in 1717 started well before that. And really these groups started kind of form a forming clandestinely and secretly in like the 13th century, co-opting the actual work of brick layers and things and stone layers back in the, you know, middle ages. They turned into something else and they coalesced in the early 18th century. And in some quarters, their work very much continues. They have declared themselves an ancient

6:09enemy of the Catholic Church, trying to promote anti-Catholic values to help place men in seminaries and things who would themselves take over the church and teach their values with a Catholic wrapping on it from the Ambo. One such group in Italy famously said in one of their documents that they do not want a pope who is a member of their organization because that would be disastrous for them. Instead, what they want is one who is an in spirit a member. Things like them, talks like them, believes as they do, but is not officially a member of their organization. Who could interior and co-op lead the church and thus the Catholics of the world in revolution. That's saying that's happened. There's a lot of circumstantial evidence that that's happened and it has been that we've been living under those kind of popes for several decades now. But the external, not terribly secretive version of this enemy still exists. They're using the legal system in Romania to try to seize a 900-year-old Abby. For what purpose? Nothing good.

7:16I'm not saying they're going to do some dark rituals there or anything. They don't need to. All they need is buy the property and not let the work of monks happen there anymore. That would be more than enough to be a catastrophe. Like I said, we have been hearing and reporting on a lot of these now ancient monasteries and convents closing or being pressured to close from secular forces, including the secularization of the church itself. A vocation's crisis that could have easily been prevented by not imposing radical changes on the church 60 years ago. Look at the data points on who is becoming monks and who are becoming priests in the vocations and everything else. You see they fell off a cliff starting around 1965. That's not a coincidence. The revolution in the church bore fruit immediately. In the left, the church unwilling to stand up against its most ancient and plakable foe.
