Here we go. Welcome it. It is follow the money on V. Send these sports. Betty network. Mitch Moss along with Paulie Howard. Relive downtown Vegas. Circa resort at Casino is your spot. A three hour banger lined up today. We will get into obviously a lot from the elite eight. Sweet 16. Move it forward to the final four. First weekend is in the books of major league baseball tonight's NBA card as well. Good spot. I think tonight for a team in the NHL. Pat 40 on the program in 30 minutes. He said back in November. Give me what Michigan and Arizona against the field. Yeah, he was strong on it. Yep. Great call. Nick Whalen best bets NBA player props today. In an hour and a half on the final four as well. Paulie I remember if you go back basically a year ago now after the final four. I had to go back and watch Duke Houston on Sunday. And again on Monday morning before the show because I could not believe what I watched. I still can't process how Duke blew that game. And then it happened all over again yesterday.
And I had to go back and watch the game again last night. And I watched the second half again this morning. This one makes a little bit more sense in last year's Houston loss. But it's back to back. I can't believe we're doing this. Right, I honestly can't I sat there. I was just numb and couldn't move for like five minutes. Like I can't believe how that ended and how they blew the game. Yet again on the heels of what happened last year. And unless it's the Green Bay Packers, I hate when a team gives away a game, especially in a big spot like that. So condolences for Calcutta survivor contest bracket contest. And the prop over two and a half. One seeds to make the final four. That's absolutely disgusting. And kick to the stomach and that would take I didn't have it. I thought about it. Trust me, I thought about that one a lot. And for those who did, man, that's how you lost. Are you serious? Yeah. So what is it? Do we point the finger at Shire? Why does this keep happening? Why can't you play a complete game? Why do you fall asleep? Why do they make poor decisions in the silly turnovers?
Because there are last four losses. You're up 19. You blow it. You're up nine with five minutes. There's 16 to one in play. You are 13 against Carolina lost. They were up 17 against Texas tech. And then up 14 with eight minutes left against Houston. Up six with a minute left. Those are the last four losses. And that's it. That can't happen. No, I can't over and over and over again. And then the last this is going to haunt all these guys. Probably the exception of Booser, maybe. Who's going to have phenomenal player. But that's going to haunt Kaden maybe for his rest of his life. I mean, you're trying to go to the final four and last year, you should have won it all and at least got to the championship game. And you give the game away. And I can't again to process what happened there. And to credit Yukon, they never hit him with like a big wave over the span of like a five minute stretch, where I was like, okay, here comes a 19 to run. Now they're back in the game. They just kept chipping and chipping and chipping away. And I will say that both teams had a lot of wasted possessions in the second half.
And don't forget like, I know people are going to put all of this on Kaden Booser. I think that's a mistake. But like the if you want to go back and nitpick, how about the turnover by Cameron Booser with a minute to go? When he just dribbles a ball away and turns it over to Yukon. And then they hit the three to cut it to one. Yep. And it's a monster. Yeah. Now he kind of redeem himself with a basket to make it a three point game again. Oh, great shot. Why is Sar so quick to get rid of the ball? I know. He missed two free throws before the end of the half. But also it was, you know, playing hot potato. They have to follow you. There's only 10 Booser passes the ball with 6.5 seconds left. Just sit there and hold it. They're going to grab you. But also for them not to foul and then two guys come in. If he gets it over their heads, it's over. It's a dunk and it's all she wrote. But why are two guys in the front court? Why were there two Duke players in the front court? That's another thing. But I just just made a terrible decision. And where's Caleb Foster? Yes, he's not down the court. He's not in the game. Yes. So he gave you nothing, but he was great in the last game.
Against St. John. Yeah. The immediate reaction all over was to blame Caden Booser for that. You can't pass. Like, look, I haven't played competitive basketball in a minute. I love the sport. Always have though. I did play when I was younger. Have a great appreciation for it. I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of Caden Booser in that spot. He made all his free throws. I don't know. So you have two guys coming over to you. He looks. And this is all bang, bang again, right? It's all happening at warp speed. He looks down the court. He sees two teammates who are completely uncovered. And he's thinking, oh, my God, if I get the ball to one of them, they dunk games over. That had to be the process in his mind that he was going through. And then he just happened to have carabin and Mullins in his way. And they made an incredible play on it. They recovered it so quickly. And just that again, it's so fast how it's happening. Mullins to carabin. Oh, I got two guys in my face. I can't pass, but there's two seconds left. He gets to the Mullins and Mullins doesn't even think. So I got to go, man, because he said afterwards. I like that he swore on national TV, by the way. As a, what is he, 19 years old?
But from like the logo, he's like, I got to put it up. I see two seconds as a going up. And that is like all of you. I have rewatched that entire situation. I'd have 300 times. Yep. That is the prettiest swish sound I've ever heard my entire life. Because the court was completely dead silent. And then what it just goes through the net, you could hear it from a thousand miles away. And the call from Ian Eagle in Bill Raftoree. And how stunned Grant Hill was for 30 seconds is that's as good as it gets. I like what you said earlier. It wasn't like that. Did you just kept chipping away, chipping away? And then do could make a shot. Yeah. But it's, but you know, you mentioned carabin and Mullins hadn't made a three the whole game until carabin hits the one to put it, cut it to a one point lead. And then Mullins with the game winner from way out, which I can't believe he made it, considering how far he was out and nothing but net. But it's just a complete meltdown and given the game away. And that's just you end your season or maybe your career like that too on the heels of what happened last year.
You know, also, Bill Booser. Carlos was taught in the St. John's fans too. Maybe a little bit of karma too. Well, I would say that it feels to me like Duke was playing with a little bit of house money. Yes, St. John's head was up 10 on him. Oh, St. John's had him. Yes, see any had him. See, that's exactly right they did. Yeah. So, but they're a really good basketball team and yet again, a failed end to their season. And again, were you asked the question to begin the show? Like, where is it then? Is it on Shire? I mean, he's kind of the common denominator. Is he not? Got some ugly losses. They were minus 4,800 yesterday. Yeah. To win the game at one point. Yeah. The last year against Houston, they were minus 100,000 at DK to win the game. It's a theme here. I mean, it's not just a one-time occurrence. Look at, look at all these horrible losses and all the blown leads and big blown leads. He also has the bad loss against NC State. He's playing to go to the final four. He's at eight point favorite against an 11 seat. He got run out in that game. They lost by, I think, a dozen in that game.
Yes. But then, and then her, her league keeps doing it, right? I don't know how good this team is. I don't, I'm right there with you. St. John's housed him twice. Marquette blew him out. They had, they blew the big lead against Michigan State then they come back. But Furman had him on the ropes. They maybe lose that game unless we read a Superman. And this guy's like, what, a 17 and 180 S run in the, in the tournament. Well, I come turnie time. I mean, that's, he's automatic. Yes. He has been. Now, here's the thing. We're getting, we're going to dive into these games coming up in about five minutes here. The final four is set. But Illinois taking a little bit of money. Illinois's. Yeah, great. They've been awesome. Yeah. Every win's been by double digits. They had no problem beating Houston in their backyard and against Iowa. They, they couldn't shoot the ball. And it was more of offensive glass points in the paint. Second chance points and, and using their, you're losing the big guys down low. Well, you, okay, you can take your three. But I'm, we can't make our threes. We're just going to kill you with all the twos. And it was beautiful to watch and, and they punk them. So the one, the run that underwoods on how well this team is
and then the depth and the euros and then the length that's been something, man. And I know there's some 60 to one tickets on Illinois. But that's a team you didn't really think about coming into the tournament. Lost in all these big 10 teams and, and they've had no problem so far. Easy wins. No. And by the way, it's funny. The way, I mean, the weekend went for Yukon because they got out to that huge lead against Michigan state. Almost blew it. And then the exact opposite happened yesterday. And they still, I mean, they couldn't hit anything. I started one of 18. So like, I would assume that's going to be a little bit better in this game against Illinois. And I will point out, though, there is a little bit of revenge for the Align Eye. I haven't heard another, maybe, maybe, I don't know. Someone has brought it up. I haven't heard anybody. Do we remember what happened two years ago in the elite eight to go to the final four? Yukon went on a 30 to nothing run against Illinois. Oh, okay. In that game. Okay. I guarantee that not that it matters, but under what is absolutely going to have that on his mind this week. Now does revenge come into play when it's under what against Hurley? Because Hurley has clearly got the edge here in terms of the head coach.
I don't know, but I will say another thing too that we said back to the first weekend if these dogs are not barking. And there's not going to be a lot of drama or upsets. Please give us a good final four. I think it's a, it's not last year with all four number ones. But Paul, this is a really good final four. Well, we did have a record. Most wins by 20 points or more. They set that record in the tournament. And the other thing was if Duke covered as well. Because you had Purdue, Purdue Arizona covered and it'll blow out what Michigan did, what Illinois did. And then if Duke got there too, those parles. I mean, that would add it up as well. And I was shocked at that number. And that graphic that they put up during the game. That one seed had never lost when leading by 15 or more at the half. 134. And I couldn't believe that. And there's your one. There's your one. So most people can't stand Duke and love the route against them. That's your love and life. Because that's just as painful as it gets to blow a game like that for the second year in a row.
But these are, you've got the heavyweight's going here. Illinois is an outstanding team. You cons here, Hurley's here almost every year. They almost beat Florida last year but the 17 and one run as I mentioned and what Pat 40 said in November. I mean, you can't get any better than Michigan against Arizona here. Well, that should be amazing how Michigan's the first team to ever do this. They've won every game and scored 90 points. At least 90. They were afraid trained offensively. Yep. Too good. The only nitpick I would have is if they were on different sides of the bracket. Yes. And then that would be potentially the national title game. Follow the money is brought to you by Profit X. And right now you could be winning a 5,000 or a $10,000 trip during March. Madness. Check out King of March and use the code. Vs in. M M and they made the right move. Obviously by putting that game late as well on Saturday. But that that's 16 14 Tennessee yesterday. Yeah. Bye. That'll do it. And it was never a game after that. They went on that 21 nothing run and. Tennessee never had a chance.
The game of runs. That's a I'm glad. Caesars puts that up for every game. You have to expand it. You're going to have to make 10 and 15's not enough. I know. For now, the updated numbers for the final four Michigan is about one and a half. Now, that did open up the other way, actually. I think it was DK that opened up Arizona one and a half.
Caesars will help open up Michigan, the favorite. And Michigan has drifted towards the favorite MO spots. And in the other one, I mean, look at how razor thin these are, man. Illinois laying two against Yukon, one and a half at BEMGM, the way it looks to most other spots. Like that's again, on paper, if it lives up to it, Saturday's going to be incredible. Yes, let's start with the heavyweights and what we have on the line. So a team hasn't won at West to Texas since 97. See if Arizona can do it again. This would be something if they make the title game win it all and lose their coach with the Carolina rumors. Could it be big 10 against big 10? Then you give you you'll break the drought no matter what. Well, what if it's 2000, right? So that by default, though, does it mean Yukon's going to win it again this year? No team west to the Mississippi since 97. Like you said, no big 10 teams since 2000. Yes, I hope not. I know, but Michigan scores with ease. It just comes so easy form offensively because they have so many guys with the big guy down low or you can knock down threes and how efficient they are.
It's just scary. And they look like the team that was carving people up in the non-conference, although you can't sustain that. But Arizona's resume is also incredible. They did have the close call against Utah State, which was the score was misleading. That was cut to four with about four minutes left. And then they had a bad half against Purdue, which I like what Lloyd said after. I just walked away and told the players, you guys know what to do, figure it out, talk amongst yourself. So the one thing I didn't like was what Howard did offensively in the first half against Michigan. But other than that, they just been, they've been fantastic. And why you think they're the best team. And Alabama was Alabama by the way in that first half. That's what Alabama can do. Yeah, that's before came back to the pack. To me, Michigan takes way more threes in Arizona. Arizona does not take a lot of volume from downtown, but they get to the free throw line. I mean, in buckets. So it's going to be, it's going to be right Arizona at the free throw line, compared to maybe Michigan, how they can outperform Arizona behind the stripe. And but both teams offensively and defensively, it doesn't matter where you look could be Kim Palm,
Torvik, wherever they're going to be top three to five in every category for the most part across the entire country. So it's an unbelievable match. This one I was talking about earlier. Ken Palm has a, well, it's a metric called a thrill score. This one has a thrill score of 92.8 highest in the history of his overall numbers, what he shares publicly. And you also have the number three and number four Ken Palm teams of all time. His database goes back to 1997. Arizona and Michigan are top four ever per his numbers. And they're playing. And it's the highest thrill score is it's in terms of like good overall on paper to excellent teams playing each other. This is it. This is by far the biggest match that we've ever had in the history of his numbers anyway. Yes. A career disagree with that. His numbers are the numbers. And that's what it is. They are combined 71 and five. Their five losses have come by combined 25 points. They both played amazing schedules. And they obviously performed like wizards against a majority of the teams
that they were ahead on their schedule this year. And every single game so far in the tournament has been decided by double digits that they played in. These are the two best teams. I concur. It doesn't mean that they're going to win it. But I think these are the two best teams. And the other thing which he's coming up in 10 minutes. I thought that was a great call by Pat 40. But you go back and look at the replies when he tweeted it in November. People were making the case for Iowa State and Gonzaga and Duke and others. And that that was a hell of a call to say I've seen enough. Give me Michigan and Arizona. And you can have the field. And I'll take my chances. And no one he's guaranteed to be in the championship. But how easy these teams have made it look as they're incredible. Well, you know, we talked about that a lot. When Michigan started to have a couple of losses. Specifically with them, you're like, well, hold on. You can't you can't beat quality opponents by 40 every game. It's started during conference play. Yeah. They were laying 18 against Penn State almost lost. They were laying 18 against Wisconsin lost. But Wisconsin was good.
They were a five seed right. And then you know, you excuse the loss to Purdue in the conference tournament. It's just look who you're playing. It's the same thing with Arizona. Look what conference you're in. I know. Look, you know, the other thing. I'll tell you, if this is Illinois against Michigan in a title game, I mean, a big 10 runs college sports right now. I don't disagree. They got all these teams in the sweet 16. They got all these teams in the final four and a lead eight. And they've won the college basketball as college football three years in a row. And they put the SEC to shame two in this tournament. That's true. They went excellent job. Their conference win total was 16. Blue right by it. That's right. It was never even a sweat if you bet that over 16 wins in the conference turning. Let me also give you this because we touched on this the day after selection Sunday. And Eric Haslam, his Haslam metrics. It's one one outlet that Luke used when he was putting together his ankle place along with Bart Torvick and Greg Peterson here at Vecin.com. Paul, do you remember this tweet that we said?
This was again through the games on selection Sunday. Six teams fit his top 10 offensive efficiency and top 35 defensive efficiency numbers. And why that's important is because since his website started in 2014, 2015, every national title winning team has been top 10 offense, top 35 defense per his numbers. And that's it. That's the cutoff date. Tournament games do not count so you cannot, cannot improve on the list this year. Well, the two teams that got bounced early. Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. They were two of the top six teams that could do it out. The other four, Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, and Duke. So he, his numbers basically had the entire final four. And without that huge collapse again yesterday, his numbers told you who the national title was going to be. If Yukon pulls it off, it's going to be the first team in the history of his numbers
to win the tournament, not qualifying on selection Sunday. That's absurd. I mean, that's pretty much turning into the Bible then moving forward. Yeah. Were you at with Yukon? Overall, and also, I know we did this when the Minneapolis miracle happened, with the Vikings win against the Saints and the playoffs. You then look at a team off a miraculous win like that. And they usually lose the next game. Right. It is a major letdown. Well, so let me answer your question with a question of my own. Yukon is one of the few futures that I bet this year. I November 3rd, I bet them at 16 to 1. I honestly gave up on the ticket over and over and over again. And I totally forgot that I even had the ticket until last night when they won him. Like, oh my god, hold on a second here. I got Yukon to win the whole thing. I don't, I am not confident. I mean, they're the longest shot on the board to win it, obviously. And what are they catching against Michigan and Arizona in the title game six?
If they were just five, five and a half against Duke, they got to be out. Well, here's the thing. If you got to, you can't have a blowout. If Michigan, Arizona, if whoever wins the game, if it's a blowout, 100% actually, then you're really going to pay a tax in the title game. So what do I do? I want to monetize a ticket somehow. But would you lay the money line price with Illinois this week? And just if that's it, it's it. But then I got to come back and do it again against the team in the national title. Again, that's going to be laying six, seven points, potentially. Yeah. That's no fun. So I think I kind of got to let it ride for one more game. Did you see the furniture store? Oh, yeah. I'll go to that. If Illinois, if if the Yukon men and women both wanted, everything was been free. That going back to January. Yeah, they pulled a mattress mat. Yes, that's incredible. As we've said, many times on this show, that's good. Plenty of businesses should be doing this across the country. And the sum of all seats was an old problem. Once Michigan took out Tennessee, under nine and a half, eight and a half, whatever it is for your bet. I will say that Illinois Iowa was
tight late. I let Illinois finish on a big run to close them out. I why I thought with I don't know how much time was left in the second half, but I thought plenty of minutes to go yet. I thought maybe they could pull this off and they just they just couldn't. Illinois closed that game like good teams do. Sweet 16 and on last three years. Favorites of six or more. 57 and six straight up. The beat goes on with that too. You know, it's funny. We talked about this tanking parlay in the NBA for weeks now. The money line parlay in March, men, it's never really discussed. It's because again, this has been the one event where you kind of like want to bet on dogs or you lean towards dogs, uh, cashing and coming through for you, not again this year. Yeah. That was unfortunate with the blowouts. Yeah. It was there was a lot of, uh, I mean, it's a set a record. 21 games decided by 20 plus points. That one's tough to take. No, it is. You'll see a 40 things about that and there's a level of concern also.
You must like Michigan when the whole thing don't you? I think they're the best team, but it's it's hard because Arizona's right there with them. But then again, I you could make the case that when healthy Duke was right there. But if you just you just don't know the mistakes they're going to make and there's still kids, whether it's misfree throws, silly turnovers or you don't have it. Yeah, three or 18. You could have that game where someone just can't knock down a three for a while. I agree with the people after yesterday who said Michigan has a gear that no other team has. Yeah, I see that. But also you can come back and say Illinois can get an easy basket down low anytime they want. Yeah, okay. And use their size and strength. Follow the money brought to you by Profit X. I think I think ill well, I like Illinois, Michigan because of the big 10 angle. Okay. I'd like to see Hurley go for it one more time. What he could pull off three and four years. Come on, man. Pat 40 next. We'll talk final four. He called this by having a very strong opinion all the way back in November. And here we are. This is follow the money on vson. For now on the final four, go out to the progressive guest line. Big fan of our next guest as good as it gets when it comes to covering college sports. Pat 40 sports illustrated and follow him on x at by Pat 40. Good afternoon, Pat. Thanks for the time today. How are you? Hey, doing great guys. Ready for a final four and it's been a fun tournament. Yeah. And the final four on paper is absolutely outstanding. Let's go back to your tweet from many, many months ago now in November.
And like I was saying during the break path, like you've been doing this for a long time. I mean, it's easy to like overreact once in a while when you see these teams come out. And they're super talented. Like, oh my god, that's that team's going to win the whole thing. And then they go on and lose like 11 games and never had a chance. But you said back in November, basically, give me Michigan and Arizona against the field. My god, what a call that was, man. Yeah, they made me look good for once. So they backed it up. I mean, just phenomenal seasons by both teams. They've just been dominant really. I think all season long and, you know, it's unfortunate for them. They got to play each other. But I think the winner of that semi-final will be your national champion when all's sudden done. Yes, agree with that. What, what happens with Lloyd's future and the distraction? And he's asked about it in every press conference. Yeah, you know, he was asked about it in San Jose when I was there. And gave, you know, kind of your typical canned answer. But it was obviously what's missing from the answer is,
I have no interest in the job or any jobs. I'm staying at Arizona. Those words were not uttered. So yeah, as long as as long as North Carolina doesn't have a coach, and he isn't willing to decline any interest, then it's something he's going to have to deal with all week. And he will definitely hear about it when we get to Indianapolis. So over and over and over again, these two teams are so good on paper. What a matchup. Your early thoughts here as you have like five more days to think about it, write about it as well. Just who do you give the edge to? Boy, it's so tough. I mean, honestly, like, not for the first time this year. I watched one of them said that team can't be beat. And then I watched the other one say, wait, no, that team can't be beat. So, you know, I give a slight edge to Arizona. I picked them going into the tournament. I'll stick with them. I'll ride with them. But I think because I think they're less dependent on making outside shots.
And you never know you get into a football stadium. Yeah, we've got these hyperinflated basketballs. We have tight rims. If you're able to just get almost all you want at the rim, I think that's probably a better way to go. But I mean, Michigan can play that way too. There's slightly more dependent, I think, on perimeter play. All your years covering college basketball, how shocked were you with the Duke Yukon finish? Oh, I was stunned, absolutely stunned. I mean, we know as 19 points, it was clearly, I thought it was over. When it was 15, still thought it was over. I thought it was over with just a couple of minutes to play. And, you know, Yukon kept chipping away. And Duke kept screwing up at three live ball turnovers in the last 345. And all of them turned into three points for Yukon. Obviously, the Huskies made huge shots to make it happen. None bigger than the winner.
And an incredibly poised pass from Caribans instead of launching that thing, but getting the ball to Mullins and letting him take the shot when he's open. But Duke just just blew that game, you know, multiple different ways. And this is now a pattern for John Shire that he's going to have to figure out. Yes, so how much of the blame goes on the head coach? Because this keeps happening. And you tweeted about it as well. I mean, you're up 17 against Texas Tech. You're up 13 against Carolina. You're up 19 here. You're up 14 against Houston. You're up six with a minute left. Those are the last four losses. Why does this keep happening? Yeah, no doubt. It's a pattern. And, you know, I think part of it clearly is, they do realize on younger players than almost anybody else. So you get freshmen acting like freshmen out there. And each of the boosters had a major turnover in the last like 102. Yesterday. And the one thing, Shire's probably the best recruiter in the country,
but he has not gotten that rock steady point guard that you just give the ball to when the ship starts thinking and saying, settle us down here. And I think that showed it showed against Houston. And it showed yesterday against Yukon as well. And that, you know, they've got great, great players. But he's also, you know, he's kind of put together teams where you're giving a six nine guy the ball at the end. Six nine freshmen saying you figure it out and it doesn't always work. That's right. How do you think Yukon plays against Illinois? And it's hard to gauge this Yukon team, even though hurly so good. But Ferman was competitive had a chance to win. They blow the big lead against Michigan state. They were routed by St. John's twice. They were blown out by Marquette. What do you make of this Yukon team in this run? Yeah, I mean, look, they've surpassed my expectations for them in the tournament. I kind of thought they might lose in the sweet 16 to Michigan state.
And they were clearly good enough in that game. And then, you know, the kind of a heart of a champion rally yesterday, I still, I think Illinois is probably a smidge better. You know, that's just a better overall team and playing very well. You know, Illinois really has not wobbled at all in this tournament. They have, they've handled their business. So, you know, I'll, I'll take Illinois at this point. But yeah, do you want to count out Dan early when he's one, two of the last three championships. And now I've been to three of the last four final fours, not really. No, you let me write in my next question then. And you're spot on, like, it doesn't matter where you look. All the websites out there with their numbers efficiency wise, that Illinois is going to have better numbers overall, indicating that they are a better team than Yukon. But they don't have Dan Hurley as their head coach. So, like, how much do you think overall Hurley and the gates? Illinois may be being, being slightly better. You might, you really might, you know, they'll need to, they'll need some other big guys to play big beyond Tarris Reed.
And to give them some minutes because Illinois is huge, you know, they've got multiple seven footers and they've got their big at six nine. They've got Keen Woggler's six five six six a guard. You know, they've got a lot of signs they can throw at you. And they are. They're super efficient offensively. The one thing and, and Brad Underwood, who is credit, he was a guy that had these really terrible March losses. Until this year, you know, I mean, I remember it was a two years ago, they played Yukon and they got out scored like 20 to nothing to start the second half. I mean, it might even have been worse than that. And before that, you know, he'd had early losses to like Loyola and some other ones. But maybe he's figured it out here. But, you know, I still think it's advantage early, at least on that part of the equation. We got a great final four, but we had a record amount of blowouts in this tournament. 21 games decided by 20 points or more.
And I know we're similar. We like to root for mid majors in the little guy. This is the second year in a row. All sweet 16 was made up of teams from power conferences. It's only two times. It's happened in the history of the tournament. Do you think NIL has done a lot of damage to to Cinderella? And what do you expect moving forward? Yeah, it's that part of it's depressing for me. You know, I think you lose part of the real joy and charm and flavor of the tournament when Cinderella's a non-factor. And I am concerned about that being a permanent factor. You know, I think, yes, NIL certainly a factor. Another thing that I wrote about is a lot of the mid to low major conferences have just gotten worse because they've lost a lot of their best teams. You know, the Missouri Valley has had a lot of good programs move up and out. The 810 has lost some to the American.
Southern conferences lost teams. And so, you know, they I think teams that generally are 13 to 16 in the seating are probably further away from the teams one to four than they've ever been. And that's why you get so many of these mismatches. And I think just between conference realignment and yes, the power of who's got the money and who doesn't. That that's a dynamic is going to be very hard to change. Very well said. Yes. Pat, we love talking to you. Thanks much for your time. Enjoy the final four this weekend. All right, my pleasure guys. Thank you. Appreciate it. Read him at Sports Illustrated. Follow Pat on XC's at by Pat Forty. Join us here on the Progressive Guest Line. That was a good point. Ohio Valley. Surrey Valley. Conference USA used to be Louisville and Memphis. No, remember that. Of course. I mean, that that's that's big. It's an excellent point. I'll give you another one too. This is a total aside. My buddy and I were having this conversation who lives in the area. How was Syracuse not in the Big East?

The best programs are those programs that are the best mid-maiders anyway. They lose their best players every year. And they go to power five teams. And like he said on top of that, you have all this shuffling around with other teams leaving conferences. So it's just going to be it's it's weird, man. And then we'll see what happens with the pack 12 now, right? And then buy, buy, whack. Huh? What happens to the West Coast? They lose Gonzaga. Say Mary's loses Randy Bennett. Yep. You know, Ben Jacobson to Utah State. Yeah, he finally left. That's a surprise. When lose next, Paulie's going to recap the betting action from the weekend and tell you about a team that went on a 31-nothing run
while you were not paying attention. Here's a shift worth noting. Better health care is care that meets patients where they are. United Health Group is bringing it directly to living rooms. Were you a winner last night? Wow, winning. Or was it a rough one? Well, they can't only winters, can they? Loser! You're a loser! Bolly Howard recaps the night in sports betting in when some lose some. Incredible weekend with the betting and there were a ton of jackpots that had in Las Vegas as well. Let's start with the props in the sweet 16. Closest game, Purdue, Texas, 6-to-1. Lowest scoring game, Houston, Illinois, 6-to-1. St. John's Duke. The Johnny's had them on a double digits. They were playing well. They 30 points each team eats half plus 130. 70 points plus 155. 75 points each team plus 360.
Yukon, Michigan, stayed under 140 down to 136. Yukon was also 16-to-1 in play against Duke yesterday. Arizona first final four since 2001. Illinois first final four since 2005. They were three-to-one to win the region. Iowa to make the elite eight. 18-to-one. Sweet 16 and on. Six plus favorites. The last three years, 57 and six straight up. NBA Friday night. Favorites went nine and one straight up. Dallas Shock Portland. Four to one on the money line. Portland scored 93 points at home. Look at the scores and what Dallas has allowed going back the last three. It was like 125 a game basically. I couldn't believe it. They lost and they couldn't score against his team. That routinely has been given up like 130 as you mentioned. That also took out the money line parlay that night. They did. Gary Woodland, 115-to-1. With the Houston open. Okay, now that's an awesome story. Yes it is. He deserves all this and very emotional as you would expect after the win coming back. Brain surgery and good for that dude and his wife, man.
That was so cool. Absolutely. And the wind is howling out in Kansas City. And it's already two one in the second ending with that two home runs. Raptors is what Mitch was talking about. The record yesterday against Orlando. A 31 to nothing run. That's the record in the play by play era. It only goes back to like 97 98. But that how do you go on a 31 to nothing run? And Orlando is, you know, pretty good team. They're okay. They're in a horrible rut right now. Yeah, but that's in Paris in the NBA. Yeah. That should absolutely be impossible to happen. I agree. This was Saturday afternoon at the high limit at the win. $25 denomination 10 play. $1250 a push. The gentleman was dealt on triple double. Force in a kicker. $500,000. Oh, look at that.
That's it. First of all, okay. $1250 a push. No kidding. It's not real life in there. I was walking around for a little bit. It's just there's they have they have pinball. And top dollar. It's 5,000 of push on some of the machines. What is going on here? And I look at the last guy. The last guy actually played it and got the pinball. Catched out 37,000. I mean, one lady's got 30,000 in the machine. Another guy was playing like 250 a push on dragon link and got the minor bonus. It's it's bananas. I will say that that place have been around for more than 20 years now. Every has it. Oh, yeah. Think about that for a second. But every time I go to the win, I'm just like, how have I not spent more time here? It's nice. You could eat off of any inch. You can see no floor. No sports book as well. Cleanest thing proper I've ever seen. You know, when you go there in Bellagio, you notice like the, what is it? Van Cleef and the high end stores with the purses. They won't let you in. There's this security guard there. You're like need permission to come in. They got to set it up.
They haven't blocked off. Well, you could just can't walk into the stores. Oh, that's your big boy. This was at Resorts World down the street on keynote. $200,000 hit. A seven spot on keynote. I think it's, I don't know, 20 a push. Whatever it is. I don't play Gino. That's crazy. Vontalba wanted to get the party started Friday. JVT hit Aces in a kicker. At a local bar. It wasn't triple double, but you, you take the win there. But then Kelly Bidlin. Oh, what a feeling this is. It's rare. He got Delta Royale, which he's, that's $4,000. Delt holds it locks up itself. I'm good. What a run. What a run. It is. And then a listener sent this in. He hit dragon links. For the second time in his life. And he got the major. As you see, you got all, everything comes down. And that gives you the grand progressive. If you sweep the board.
And then you want $10,000. What was it? It's only a $2 betty set. Yeah, I believe so. You know, here's the kicker to this story, too. Playing this in a robot. All right. Their laws mean no taxes. Oh, wow. All he scoops had entire thing. That's excellent. Good job. And there was a $270,000 hit over the weekend at the Palms on that dry on that dragon links game as well. Same type of deal. You get the grand, what is it called? The grand jackpot. When it all, all those numbers and balls come down. Lose some Duke Yukon under 143 to 140 and a half. Iowa State. No wins past the sweet 16 since 2000. It's unfortunate with Jefferson. And we had a record amount of blowouts in the tournament 21 games decided by 20 plus points to the one loose some video. This guy, this gentleman did very well. Potato Kanish in the circa millions. Right. Look what they're offering him on a cash out. He's got a future on Illinois at 60 to one.
It paid what does it pay 152,000? Yeah. Yeah, he's got 2500 at 60 to one. Yeah, look at the cash out offer. He says we got a good point that we have to do something about this because they're ridiculous with some of these cash out offers. They're offering like 20 grand. And he only needs two more. And he's favored in the final four games. I would say the cash out from what I've seen anyway on my apps. And actually offer it never once has it ever even been a consideration. Really? Yeah. And okay. Bad beats all over. In terms of getting like the fair value got you. Friday night Pacer's money line led by 24 lost the game plus 320. Jazz money line 18 to one in Denver up 13 was six minutes left. Everyone sent this in condolences Friday. Rangers Phillies under seven and a half. Three nothing two outs bottom of the night. A drop bomb. It's a big league ball player. And there was another error. Five three final. Guardians Mariners under three two bottom of the ninth. Blue it. Chinanigans extra earnings six five final. Duke money line. Duke in your brackets.
Duke and Calcutta. Duke and survivor. And the prop over two and a half one seeds to make the final four. All of it. Just hideous. Oh, they gave it which one is worse there. I don't well. I'm not going to say survivor because you probably want to hang on to them for one more game. Yeah, based on Illinois winning or their competition being Illinois. I mean, if you got them in Calcutta that goes up big two. Yeah, sure. You're talking final four and then a chance they could win the favorite against Illinois. I'd say Calcutta and then over two and a half. Yes, one seeds to make it. Or somebody like boozer says, you know what? I can make $10 million by coming back. I'm not going to go to the NBA. What we ever see like a super high prospect who would be a top five top 10 pick with all this NIL money now. Say, you know what? I don't need to go to the NBA draft right now. I love in this. I love being in the spot. I know they're going to give me five, six, seven, eight, ten more million dollars. Big man on campus. I don't think you can do it because he also just then you start the clock because then you can get that that next deal what four years after. Yeah. And then right there that's you're probably looking at $300 million or whatever it is. And that you're good to go. Not to mention if there's an injury, maybe your stock drops. You know, there's there's too much unknowns. You just have to take the sure thing, I think. Yeah. Like Duke rest assured. I would imagine they're going to get over the hump at some point and win the whole thing with Shire.
Maybe maybe he's not the right coach though. Okay, but that's possible. It's like Patsy. You got to recruit that point guard. Or that's unfortunate when it happened with Foster. You saw how emotional Shire was after they won Thursday. But then Friday. But then he's not even out there. Didn't give you much and then boozer with the huge turnover. Yeah, I just think that he's going to be in the spot so many times at eventually you're going to have to win out. It'll keep going. You know, go your way one time. Maybe I'm wrong on that. I don't know. You're going to talent that. Look, I got a question. I'll talk to you. I don't know while I ask about Arizona coming up in real or full Gacy. I mean, Arizona. How many one or two seeds have they had? And they couldn't get it done. Give me another one. This got retweeted again from Bart Torvick. Bol Ryan has been to a final form more recently than John Calapari. Well, that's what that one's thinking. That is shocking. Yeah. Okay, go ahead. Sure, go ahead. No, also Shire said and the post game was at Wolfson, right on the court yesterday. I'd never been a part of a game like this. Yeah, you have been. It was last year. Last year was worse. Yes, it was.
Yeah. Because he kept saying I have no words right now. Well, you better get used to a pal. Because this is happening out quite a bit. You're up six with a minute. You're letting in that game was over. Last year was worse. But they happened back to back years as just, I mean, you said it earlier, Paul. If you're a Duke fan, I mean, my guy you had to call him sick today. Absolutely. I had no dog in the fight. I was stunned. I couldn't believe it. You got to be nauseous because it keep. It also happened to every single loss this year, though, too. All right, like, why you blowing 17 point leads? We'll get some best bets in the NBA player props coming up.
