I mean, the biggest to big boys is tipping off in an hour and 10 minutes. That's St. John's and Duke. We go out. Again, progressive guess line here. Bruce Marshall joins the program. Long time College of Basketball, handicap or in better with wager talk and gold sheet. All right, Bruce, overall, you've had five days basically to think about this number. Duke at seven. There are seven point favorite here at Circle, a little bit of juice. If you want St. John's, total is now down to 140 and a half. What do you make of this game? Mitch, I've been riding underdogs all the way through the sweet 16. I'm going to stick with it here. Although I've had to kind of overcome the vision in my mind. I watched that game where St. John's didn't hit a shot against you come. I went over 24 and to get that out of my mind has been kind of difficult. But you got a figure. I mean, I mean, Patino has coached this team is not a great shooting team.

2:08Patino has coached around that. They won 21 to 22 and they have hit some triples, at least in the sub-regional. They hit at least 10 and 11 in each game. So they are shooting them ball a little bit better. But what Patino's going to want to do is make this big East bully ball. That's the way St. John's survives. Now they're going to want this game played in the 60s like the Kansas game. And I think they might have a shot. Now in Ganga, it's going to be, he'll play more than 13 minutes in this game. That's what he played for Duke on Saturday against TCU. And that that's important because it relieves Can Booser from playing the five. And he's not a great rim protector. That's what you haven't gone before. And I think Booser's going to be much better if in Ganga plays more. But they still don't have Caleb Foster. They've had some real scraps the last couple of weeks without him. ACC tournament before the state game, they should have lost the C&A game. I could have lost in the final, the ACC tournament, the C&A game they were in trouble. I don't think they're going to pull away here tonight. In fact, I think this could be a last minute, last shot sort of game. And maybe St. John's can win.

3:10I'm going to take the Tino positive. Oh, by the way, 34 years waiting to get back at Duke. Yes. Yes. You know, in the lead eight, you know, he would, this would be very delicious for him to get some revenge on Christian Lainer in that long pass. So I'm going to take St. John's plus. They have a shot to him, but certainly plus the points. I'll go that way. You got it. All rise to run shot air and judge to nothing Yankees in the sixth. How about you, Conn and Michigan State? Paul, I think Dan Hurley's got a really threatened needle here. I don't think Yukon is what it was two and three years ago. Now, Terri Street can certainly be a handful. And that big 31 and 27 he had against Firmament was because they had just nobody big and strong enough to get in his way. But, I mean, Yukon was still in trouble in that game firmly on a shot, you know, inside of five years. I think that this could be your actual upset here. And you look at Yukon down the stretch. I mean, that is the St. John's Biggie's tournament game.

4:12I don't want to get too carried away by conference tournaments, but I think Yukon was actually trying to that game at the start. They lost again to Mark cat late in the season. They lost a game to Creighton. This team walks a very thin line. And if we can't be dominant down low, they're going to need one of these other guys. Mullins has been a bit inconsistent. Caravan did play well against UCLA. His best game, 27 points of the season, but I'm not sure he can replicate that again. And Silas Demory has been hurting playing less than 100% at the point guard spot. Now, the UCLA comparison, I've heard a few people say, hey, UCLA, Yukon handled the Bruins by 16 on Sunday and UCLA, Michigan State, the Big Ten tournament. And I say, don't worry about that. I don't think it's a cared losing the Big Ten tournament. It got his team some extra rest. They had their seat already locked up. I don't think it bothered him one bit. Fears is a great point guard here. He detonates a transition game. There's different ways of Michigan State can hurt you. And they have enough bangers there to keep read in some control. I think is a wins this one.

5:12And oh, but you know, it's been 26 years since the Big Ten team won the national title. I think it's going to be somebody's going to end that this year. Maybe it's Michigan State, but I think they do advance to a Sunday with the win tonight. Well, not only that, they could have three of the four final four teams, too. The way they're trending. How about Tennessee and Iowa State and Jefferson, a game time decision? That's a big one because they could beat Kentucky without Jefferson. I don't know if they can beat these guys without them. First things first, we know by Tennessee, never get into the final four. Rick Barnes has been here before, but the sweet 16 Tennessee is one there before. It's the elite eight where they have a one in the past. So we can, you know, address that on Sunday. If they win tonight and if they can break that jinx, they have one here before in the sweet 16. Jefferson is very important, very unique weapon for them. But, you know, as long as Iowa State and they get so much. Based on their pressure, David, I think Lipsy is very good and they underrated back court. And they extend the offense the other way.

6:15Force turnovers, get points and transition. And that's also where Jefferson helps out coming in from behind. But if Tennessee can just limit the turnovers tonight, they can win this game. First of all, defensively, they have the big guy down low who can act as a rim predictor. Iowa State's going to have to shoot very well. Now, they can. Mumsillovitch is the best three point shooter in the country. But that the further you get in the dance, that's a little bit harder way to go. And second, in Gillespie and in Amit, you have got a couple of guys who can rise to the occasion. We've seen Gillespie do it this year. We know Amit can do it. And the key is if they can limit their turnovers and not get burned in transition the other way by Iowa State. I think Tennessee wins and the Jefferson thing is big. I mean, you know, even if he plays, I can't believe he's going to be 100 percent. That looks like a pretty serious ankle thing. So like I said, they could be Kentucky without him. I'm not sure they can be Tennessee without him. I'm going with Rick Barnes. All right. See what happens. The elite eight Bruce Marshall, our guest longtime college basketball handicaper and better.

7:16He is with Wager talk and the gold sheet. He's on the progressive guest line. The other game that we have tonight, Pauli and I have been kicking this around earlier today. It kind of feels like that Arizona Arkansas game all over again tonight where Michigan can get whatever they want. A lot in this game. What do you think here? Yeah, I was thinking about that too, Mitch. I mean, it doesn't, and I was wrong. That was the one underdog who didn't do it. And Arkansas's defense just was not up to task last night and they really got burned. Can Michigan do the same thing? It could, but here's my thought on Michigan that this team has been overvalued in the marketplace. Since they were out here in Las Vegas and Thanksgiving, we can that new year's tournament. When they destroyed San Diego State and they destroyed Auburn and they destroyed Gonzaga and they looked like the best team in the world and point spread started to get out of hand with Michigan. Do you know before the St. Louis game? You guys know this and that game was competitive been way in the second half. They had dropped eight of their previous nine against the spread. In January, Michigan had a seven game point spread losing streak.

8:20They have been consistently overvalued in the marketplace, I think. And it creates a chance, I think, to go against someone and get a number this big now. The fundamentals, maybe like you'd say, and I was thinking, you know, like Arkansas, Arizona might work against Alabama here, but any team that can hit 19 threes the way they did against Texas Tech. It is pretty much a one trick pony for Arkansas for Alabama. I'm sorry, but if they can do that, they can stay closer. I think Michigan is vulnerable out there in the perimeter. They don't have a lot of length there. I know their frontline is great, but I think Alabama has a puncher's chance here. It's asking a lot to win the game to stay within single digits within their capabilities. So I'm going to take the tide plus. Do you have an opinion on the two games tomorrow with Purdue catching seven six and Iowa catching seven? Boy, I really want to take Iowa. Because I like the time it can't drag you on the sideline there. I mean, he really he's like my favorite. Yeah, he's he's the new Bob Knight, you know, at least strategy wise.

9:22Illinois, if all the cylinders are firing is the best team in the country. If, but there's maybe, you know, maybe, you know, but maybe Iowa can, you know, they played him before maybe they can slow him down. So I'm a little reluctant to not to go against McCallum here. I've got someone to respect for him. Yeah, I'm struggling with the other one right now because Arizona looks so good the other night. But I think Arkansas is just complete, you know, inability to do anything on the stop. And Purdue is going to be more resolute than that. And like we talked off here, they got a break when they didn't call a cop and run for pushing off swaying at the end. But they were still in position to win and they've got their, this is the experience. I don't think they're going to want this game get away from him. Arcade Arizona had some close games recently until even that Utah State game last week. That that they have a blow on the other team away and something tells me Purdue is going to hang around. Maybe not win. They got a chance though. So I'm making the boy the makers. How surprised are you with the Will Wade news that he goes back to LSU after being fired with, you know,

10:25he's on tape with us, you know, strong ass offer comments. Yeah, because it's LSU, I'm not shot because I had heard that that was happening. And it, you know, the only places I could see that would do this would be like LSU or Albert. I was talking in the air, guys down in Baton Rouge in Memphis earlier. We can't envision a big school doing this. And I'm trying to think of a time when a school rehired a coach who got fired there because of getting hit by the NCAA. I think this is unprecedented. I, John Robinson, a USC on the football side, but they didn't fire him the first time he resigned on his own accord. Now it's a couple of years after they got hit probation. He came back more than a decade later than they fired him. But to rehire a guy that you fired because of the NCAA saying hit, this is, this is unique. So in that regard, I am surprised, but the fact that LSU doing it, hey, I guess anything goes LSU Auburn don't surprise me that they would do something like that.

11:26They're the only two I think that would. So I guess I'm not surprised, although it is very impressive. That's right. Thanks Bruce. I Bruce you're the best. Okay, boys, take care. You know who gets lost in the shuffle like all time college basketball, it's Jamal Mashburn. It's my brother's favorite player of all time. I mean, he, he's good on the broadcast on the, excuse me, the like, I think in like today's college basketball, Mashburn would have been insane. But anyway, more mention markets here, like the N.I.L., Patino's made it a big point. You have to mention that also because a darling just got a deal after we hit the game winner.

17:34There you go. And they have to go through his path, transferring in from Idaho state. And then the commissioner of the big sky say, hey, this is how you do it, right? You come here and you can wind up and be a hero at St. John. Sure. I don't mind that message, actually. I think it was, I think it was humans and Murray last night they were talking about Patino's new approach to like recruiting. And he basically said, I don't, I'm not going after the five star kids anymore. He goes, we have, I think they have a couple of billionaires who are St. John's alums who are all in with the program. And their approach is going to be they want to go after men. They want to go after, you know, 20, 21, you know, 22-year-olds, whatever that is, and European players. And like that's part of the whole story here that you kind of had to tell with St. John's now. I mean, I just, I can't imagine if he can go there after they were, you know, they were so good in the 80s. That's also a long time ago. And they pop back up late 90s, but my God, that's also a quarter of a century.

18:36Like we get lost in a time warp, and we forget how, you know, how fast it goes by. If he could turn this team from New York City into a power and win a national tie, I just, I can't get over that idea. They were an afterthought now for many, many years. And it is revenge now 34 years after the fact, boy, that would feel really good for him if you could get this win outright. I'm so tempted. I just, again, this number is bizarre to me. Does it say he'll say bells? No, bells. The most outlandish thing is walk on. That's almost eight to one. Hmm. I wish they would have more have a bigger menu. I know. Usually only 16 things. Well, I wish they would offer man to man, because that's right after he's going to say that five seconds into the game after the two men and men. OK, so then they're on the same stuff with the Yukon game too. Yeah, pretty much that's unfortunate.

19:36Like to see a little more creativity. Closest game in the sweet 16 Purdue, Texas right now, six to one. Going to be hard to top that. Yeah. Biggest blowout. Arizona Arkansas plus two 75. I would think that would hold up. I mean, some are going to win by 20 some plot. I mean, this is which which is the best candidate for that. Based on the point spread, it would be Michigan and Alabama again. I mean, this game has a big ass though, I know. This game has so many different outcomes, though, in my mind. One of which would be a Michigan blowout. That's simply because again, they're phenomenal at guarding at the rim. And Alabama either takes close shots within point blank range or they shoot threes. And what if they go four of 28 tonight from three point land. And Michigan, you know, this could be 88 60. That that scenario exists, but also Alabama with a chance to win at the gun or the three. If because if they hit they have shown this again, the tournament last year, they had 25 threes against BYU.

20:40And they hit 19 last week. So they that that's their ceiling largest margin of victory has already cashed the over with what Arizona did. Lowest scoring game are people were I mean, I was surprised what I put Nebraska. I will had that low total and they started out like a house of fire. Oh man. Well, that game. Yeah, you con Michigan state was the second choice is that that lines move that totals move five points. And I was state Tennessee. But Houston Illinois would be your winner right now six to one. That's going to be hard to top. What happened? You need another. Five points. All they were bad. That was brutal. I mean, it's unfortunate because the first two games were so good. And I put this up on X as well. I'm like, OK, look, I'll trade off the little guy. If you're going to tell me we're going to get games like this every time in this week 16. I should have known as soon as I said it. It's just that two games are going to that was unwatchable television last night. How they both transpired at the same exact time. Well, you would need if we have a candidate to actually go below that game last night,

21:41it would be the Iowa state Tennessee game. Don't you think? Yeah. I think we see points in the Yukon game. I'm a little surprised with how they're pounding the under. Yeah. And you know, like like Richie said, Michigan state average is 80 a game and they've been great. So far offensively in the tournament. Now, also what would is, you know, St. John's gives up 69 a game. What do they do offensively and how many threes can they knock down? 192 in the country from three to 18 inside the arc. It was a good stretch against Kansas, but it was basically only one player. And again, they're going to dare darling to shoot, who has it even been close from distance in the tournament. And it's only made shot was the buzzer beater against Kansas one loss since January 3rd for St. John's. This is great. And I hope it lives up to the hype tonight. Yeah, I think I think all these games are fantastic. If the, you know, you see what could happen and get the blow out.

22:42I mean, I would think I hope Michigan puts it on Alabama. But maybe it bruises right. It was just more of horrible matchup for Arkansas and they just don't play a lick of defense. I mean, high point had him. I know. Let's go up and look at the bracket here's we look at the bracket together. What this could be with the big 10 invitation. You already have a team in the final four in the South. You know, can Michigan state come out of this? You got Purdue playing Arizona. And then you still have the one seed in the Midwest. I mean, you could have Purdue against Michigan. And then the Illinois Iowa winner again, I mean, that was. I want to pick Duke against party. But you couldn't be surprised if they're able to, able to nail this thing and complete. Go for for four. No, I mean, regardless of who wins the Duke St. John's game, you got to figure that Michigan state. Yukon is very live in that game. Yeah. Even, I mean, even if Duke looks awesome tonight and they cover this number against St. John's, I think the winner of Michigan state and Yukon can, can go toe toe toe toe with

23:44them. I mean, wouldn't it be something if we're talking? Can they end the drought? They haven't won it since 2000. They do it. And then they get all four final four teams. Well, imagine they get three final four teams in and they do it. They still don't do it. Yes. What do you think about McCallum style, McCallum style at Kansas or North Carolina? If Bill self said I'm done, to me, it doesn't matter how you win games just, uh, no. Yes. Right. I'm with you on that. I, I don't think I'm overreacting. I agree with hoops. The year come back could be what if he has it at halftime? Yeah. Which he has a very Murray had 53 the other night. That's right. Right. Crazy point spreads tonight. The 18 parlay pays plus 180. You want to throw Toronto in there.

26:47If you want to take Toronto out at place, pays plus 125. The pelicans aren't tanking, but they're on a back to back and Toronto needs the game as well. I'm interested to watch Atlanta and Boston and see because Atlanta is one 14 of 15, but it's just they've been hit by the deck with the schedules. It's been crazy. Tank teams, tanking, tanking or teams that have been decimated by injury. And then they did go to get it went to Houston and got blasted. So let's see no brown tonight, what that looks like on the road, catch him four and a half against the Celtics and the Celtics off the big win at home against OKC, a game up on the Knicks now for the two seed and the division for Boston. What do you make it that with no brown? It's tough because Atlanta's I don't know what to do. They're playing well, but and blowing teams out in Johnson and Alexander Walker have been so good. But the comeback is you're laying double digits in all these games. Sure. And Boston is so good no matter who's in and who's playing. You know, it looks like bigger staff is going to get the one seed.

27:49So I think it'll carry the day, but there is a lot of support for Mozilla for coach of the year. He's done an excellent job, but the comeback would be no brown big deal. It is a big deal because they are 16th and offense since Tatum came back. Or maybe it's a game that others go off, but I think it's a good because I think you'll know right off the bat. It's like, OK, Atlanta Atlanta is not on this level. They're playing good ball, but this schedule is easy. So I would actually be if like Tatum was out tonight and Brown was in, I think I'd lay it with the Celtics, but with Brown being out, I'm not, does Tatum go off then? Does he go for 40 tonight? They've been playing a lot of high scoring games at Atlanta too. That total seems low as well. The total also, it's high, but I like it over in the Portland game. 241 Dallas taking on Portland, Portland lay in double digits, Portland trying to get that eight seed there right there with the Clippers. Dallas going back points allowed 142, 137, 138, 135, 129, 138, 124, 122, and 120.

28:56Flag is a 7-0, overrun is assists, Marshall 6-1, overrun with his assists. And I think you're going to see fireworks tonight in this Portland Dallas game, and that's all that Dallas plays going back. What do you think about the rookie of the year? Kineples about minus 250 now. It was down to minus 190 earlier in the week. Flag had a really nice game. I think the Hornets maybe had a couple of days off, but now if they finished second in that division, and they're a playoff team, what he has meant overall to the team, and when's the last time Dallas played in a meaningful game? Yeah. And then the games he missed too. I think he can't win it. I think it should be higher like you said earlier. By the way, the North Carolina women, it took them five minutes to score their first points in this third quarter, and Yukon now leads 41-22. They're up back up to a 27 and a half point favorite. I have, man, I should have got involved in that total. It's now 106 and a half. Where are the points coming from? They had 63 points. What do we have? You're 13 minutes to go? Yeah.

29:57Okay. Those are great numbers, by the way, on the Mavericks and their recent games. That is something. I think they win the game, but I think 13 and a half of the rockets on the road is crazy. Oh, there's no way. I think they tell bad. They've been offensively. Oh, man. Number one, the body language is horrendous. The chemistry stinks. Udoka doesn't like his team. Durant's missing free throws, Durant with the burner stuff around all-star break time. Having issues defensively. Eason, seven and all under run points.
