How much time do you spend every day working on your dream? In the last 90 days, how many books have you read? In the last year, what new skill or knowledge have you acquired? What kind of investment have you made in you? You don't want it bad and you want a party. You don't want it as much as you want to be cool. You most of you don't want success as much as you want to sleep. Some of you love sleep more than you love success. And I'm here to tell you today if you're going to be successful, you've got to be willing to give up sleep every day. This isn't a part-time gig. This isn't punch the clock and go home for the day. You don't get weekends off. No. Here, there's no such thing as a weekend. This isn't every day gig. Every day is a Monday.

You're either committed or you aren't. You're either willing to do everything it takes, whatever that might be or you aren't. You either are willing to go through hell and high water and fire brimstone to get to your goals or you aren't. This is the time for you to go into warrior mode. The dreams that you have are not going to fall into your lap. We all want that. We all want the easy route. We all want it to happen fast. But the truth is that you've got to be willing to fight for what you want. And sometimes the person that you have to check is yourself. It doesn't matter what you don't have now because you can go get it. But it starts today. It starts with the commitment. It starts with the principle. It starts with the discipline. It starts with effort. It starts with energy. It starts with an idea that you're going to make today count.

Develop yourself. Weaponize yourself. Teach yourself to be so good at something that is necessary to serve in the area of your dream that now you never even think about your comfort zone. Whatever you resist persists, but if you ask the right question, not why is this happening, but what is this here to teach me? What is this here to teach me? It puts you in the place and space to get the lesson you need. The things that you went through getting there give you the tenacity to stay there. The fight is your friend. To work on yourself day, work on the way you look at the world around you. Look at solutions rather than focusing all the problems. Don't listen to it. It's the lies about what might happen if you try that new thing and just try it. You do this and you are constantly getting stronger than that enemy ravine. And I may make a mistake, but I own it radically and fatically. I don't play the blame game if I was wrong, I claim it and I move forward.

The starting point of goal setting is for you to realize that you have virtually unlimited potential to be, have or do anything you really want in life. If you simply want it badly enough and are willing to work long enough and hard enough to achieve it. The second part of goal setting is for you to accept complete responsibility for your life and for everything that happens to you with no blaming and no excuse. With these two concepts clearly in mind that you have unlimited potential and that you are completely responsible, you are now ready to move to the next step which is to begin designing your ideal future. You are responsible for financial strategy for deciding exactly how much of your services you want to sell, how much you want to earn, how rapidly you want to earn your income year by year, how much you want to save and invest and how much you want to be worth when you retire. These numbers are entirely up to you. You are responsible. You are responsible for your people's strategy and your relationships,

both at home and at work. One piece of advice I give my students is to choose your boss with care. Your choice of a boss is going to have a major impact on how much you earn, how fast you get ahead and how happy you will be at your job. By the same token, your choice of a mate and friends will have as much or more to do with your success and happiness than any other decisions you make. If you are not happy with any of your current choices, it is up to you to begin taking steps to improve or change them. Finally, as president, you are in complete charge of personal research and development, personal training and learning. It is up to you to determine the talents, skills, abilities and core competencies. You will need to earn the kind of money you want to earn in the months and years ahead. It is then your responsibility to make the investment and take the time to learn and develop these skills. No one is going to do it for you. The unavoidable truth is that no one really cares as much as you do.

From this point forward, see and think about yourself as the master of your own fate. See yourself as completely in charge of your own life. See yourself as the president of your own personal services corporation. See yourself as a powerful person, completely self-determined and self-directed. Refuse to whine and complain about things that happened in the past, which cannot be changed. Instead, orient yourself toward the future and think of what you want and where you are going. Above all, think about your goals. The very act of thinking about your goals makes you positive and purposeful again. And if you decide today to go for the apple instead of the Hershey bar, I'm telling you, you have begun the process of turning your life around. And if you keep up that process, not only with your health habits, but with your money habits and with your communication habits, with your sales habits and management habits and every other habit that you've got, if you'll start that process, eliminate the errors and replace it with disciplines practiced.

I'm telling you, you can start this process of life change immediately. After today, you don't ever have to be the same again. Only by choice. You don't have to walk out of here the same as you walked in today. Only by choice. You can start a whole new process. You say, well, Mr. Own, is it that simple? Yes, it's that simple. Where else would you start? But with an apple. You don't have to start with something staggering and everybody has it within their power. What was so happy for me to find out at age 25, Mr. Shove said, Mr. Own, you don't have to change countries. But you do have to change philosophy. And if you'll change philosophy, not country, you can turn around your income, you can turn around your bank account, you can turn around your skills, you can become capable, powerful, sophisticated, healthy, influential, all the other equities that you could possibly want out of your life using the only stuff there is and not trying to change any of this stuff. Appreciate all of this stuff with all of its ups and downs, with all of its

mystery of why it works and sometimes it doesn't work. Don't challenge this. You don't have to ask for another planet. You don't have to ask for another country. Just ask for another book. Ask for another seminar. Ask for another idea and you can start this whole process of personal life. You want to stand out from everyone else. You want to do something more than other people think as possible. You literally want to stand outside the norm. And if that's the case for you, then understand that his Albert Einstein said, only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason, mastery demands all of a person. If you want to get great, if you really want to make a skill set your own, if you want to be able to do something and at the end of the day, if you want to transform the world, if you want to make grand changes, if you want to do all of that, all the empty words that people spout all the time,

let me tell you the only thing that's going to separate you from all the other blowhards who are just talking words and will never do anything is to give yourself over completely to let that obsession, let that thing that you love completely consume you. And in that, your only chance to really become great lies. You know, if you want to have a fully charged life, you have to start looking forward to things again. You have to get excited about tomorrow again. You have to see your life developing again. You have to set your self on the path where your step-by-step progressing every single day. So you know tomorrow is going to be better than it was today. That you know tomorrow, you're going to become more of who you know you can become. That you know tomorrow by your simple choices, by your simple sets of disciplines and habits that you're going to evolve into your highest self. And that is the path of the charged life. This constant engagement with the best within

us of pushing ourselves but with that purpose and that progress of hoping to become our highest selves. And when you live in that place and you sense that every single day, that's the magic. That's what life should feel like. That's what I think we all deserve. And maybe we ought to start aiming and challenge ourselves just a little bit more to get there.
