2:05Reason number one. This isn't necessarily ranked. This is the first one I'm going to talk about because all these kind of run together. The running ability of phase on Brandon, phase on Brandon's legs inside the 25 year line inside the 10 year line inside the red zone design quarterback runs for phase on Brandon with things break down his ability to improvise his ability to move the sticks with his legs on third down. You can now get a hat on a hat when he's running the football design runs. Phase on Brandon's ability to run the football changes the way defense play TNC. That's a fact. You've got to declare. You've got to declare you've got to stay home. You've got to you've got to onto the run game. You do. And I think that that's a game breaker. A game changer. I truly do any game like this with it with a team with an actual pulse. I can't wait to see how they utilize phase on Brandon and his legs. Reason number two, keep on the say clue. Reason number two, and this is all in competency, all in composing Tennessee's run game. You had Colorado. That ran for a buck 83.

3:08Colorado that ran for 183 yards on 49 attempts. I mean, they average nearly four yards of carry. It's not like that they were breaking it open wide open. They had 49 attempts in this game on the ground. Like, that's a ton, right? But 183 yards. This is a team that was like ranked gosh, like 125th and rushing last year as a team. Colorado was not good at all. In Tennessee's built on running the football. It's average over 200 yards. Each and every single season, Josh Hyple has been here. 200 yards per game. Tennessee had over 2200 yards and all five years, Josh Hyple's been here. 2500 yards in the four previous seasons before last year. It's fifth year. Tennessee runs the football and Tennessee is looking at shops right now to get after Georgia Tech and that rush defense. That was really, really bad last Thursday. Georgia Tech versus Colorado. So the ability to run the football all encompassing, I think, is going to be big for the University of Tennessee in this football game.

4:08Reason number three that I'm going to mention here. And again, this is kind of all running together here. Sam Pendleton. Sam Pendleton did, Sam Pendleton missed last week's game. All right. I don't think we ever officially talked about it because it was the late breaking news. But of course, Josh Hyple said ultimately made the decision of more about it. He wasn't going to play. New something was up right. Noxville, New Sentinel reported earlier this week that he was suspended. He was suspended for a game for violation of team roles. You know, and it was found out that he was arrested for a DUI back in May. Sam Pendleton supposed to be back this game supposed to be ready to roll. I mean, he's just starting to center. And though, I think he needs to play better because I don't think that he played to the level he's capable of last year. Okay. I think it's really, really important to get your veteran center back there. I think it's really, really important to get from a communication standpoint for a young quarterback, but also just getting everybody lined up and everybody, you know, up to speed on what's going on. I mean, if I see six different offensive line combinations in the first nine series,

5:09again, Georgia Tech, I think I'm not losing it. I can't stand that. You know, hear me kind of go off on that with Boogie here in just a moment. But I think having Sam Pendleton back first game on the road, it's going to be loud. Finding some cohesive so that offensive line, I think is a big deal. And you know, throw air on card in that situation as well. And the defense is going to get after it. But Sam Pendleton being back and is building the building to help Tennessee run the football and really established what they want to establish in this football game. I think is paramount. Reason number four, that rush defense. Now this will be the first time Tennessee defense goes up against the team with a pulse. I recognize that. But Georgia Tech that's built on running the football, hard knows football, you know, Texas Haynes, you've got Brent Key, you've got another, another tell back to the really, really like Malachi Holesley. Georgia Tech rush for 51 yards, 51 yards on 30 attempts against again, Colorado, not

6:20Nick Sabin's Alabama defense, not a Kirby smart defense. Colorado. So I mean, the ability for Tennessee to shut down that run, put the football and Albert Domingo's hands and make him go win it. We'll see. I think Tennessee, I mean, since Georgia Tech just got whipped at the line of scrimmage last week, absolutely whipped. I think there's an opportunity there for Tennessee to make this game one dimensional or really put the football and Albert Domingo's hands ago, win it. And I like Tennessee's chances if that is the case. And then finally, my fifth reason why Tennessee Beach Georgia Tech on Saturday, depth on depth on depth on depth. Am I concerned about the depth in the secondary for Tennessee? Yes. Am I concerned about the depth at, I guess some certain spots like slot water receiver a little bit. Really it's secondary for me.

7:21Am I concerned about that? Yes, I am. But does Tennessee have a plethora of options on the offensive line? Yes. Does Tennessee have a ton of options on the defensive line? Yes. Does Tennessee have the deepest linebacker room and probably college football? I think so. Does Tennessee have ample options at the tight end position? Yes. Does Tennessee have plenty of playmakers that are, you know, they can go and change the game a wide receiver? Yes. We know Tennessee's got a loaded running back room. Death on depth on depth. This roster, I continue to say it. I've been saying it all off season. This roster is significantly better than that of Georgia Tech. I said it all off season. I said it before Colorado got embarrassed in the trenches against Colorado. This roster for Tennessee is miles and miles and miles and miles better than that of Georgia Tech right now. I expect Tennessee to control this football game. I'm not saying Tennessee is going to dominate it, but I think Tennessee will control this football game and I think Tennessee wins.

8:23I don't know. I'll say Tennessee wins by 10, you know, 31 27 17 or 31 17 is what I've got 21 27 17 or 31 17. Let's go 31 17. That's more points for the big orange. I like this win for Tennessee and I can't wait to see what Tennessee looks like against the team that is at least competent. Boogie Bentley what's his thoughts on the University of Tennessee? We talked about this game a lot over the offseason book you Bentley. It is Tennessee and Georgia Tech. We'll talk a lot about the yellow jackets and Tennessee's keys to victory and all that. But for sure, your overall thoughts on Tennessee and Furman. It's Furman. I get it, but a lot of good things to look back on. Yeah, I think, you know, we were never going to learn too much about Tennessee in that Furman game.

11:27I like it, especially you got a young freshman quarterback first start in college football. It's a good tune up game for him. Good warm up game for him. So I think it was good to have a game like Furman to start this year off, but I got some confirmation, man. I got some confirmation on things that I thought going through the offseason things I thought coming through fall camp. You know, I've been high on this Jim Nol's defense and a lot of that comes from the film breakdown that Coach J did on our channel. He walked us through what this Jim Nol's defense is going to look like and it doesn't necessarily look like what we're used to seeing and we saw that right out of the gates. Jeremiah T. Lander down there, what I would call the edge position and then the very next drive, he's back there playing what you would call a traditional linebacker. And I think we just got confirmation. This is a good tackling football team like that. Something you can take away from the Furman game is this is a good physical tackling football team that that gives me some confidence moving forward. Now I'm ready to crown them a national champion and I'm ready to say they're going ten and two and going to the college football playoff because of Furman. No, but the Jim Nol's defense looked the part phase on Brandon in his first start.

12:31He hung us quarterback in the history of Tennessee football to get the start. He looked the part. He can make all the throws right not just the deep shots to Mike. Of course, of course, those standout on tape. The 55 yard touchdown comes back with a 57 yard touchdown. Put the ball on the money. We kind of talked about this on my show. You were like, I got a little flack for saying he dropped in the bucket. No, he did drop in the bucket. How many times did we see Joe overthrow a guy? See Nico overthrow a guy. Don't, don't at me, bro, but we saw him the hooker overthrow a guy. The first opportunity we see for phase on hit some deep shots. He put the ball on the money. Second throw of the day, a 17 yard out route, lot of grass in between him and Mike Matthews puts it on a freaking dime, just a great throw. I heard Eric Haynes talking on his show about how it's not just the big things. It's not the big shots. It's not the legs. All that's great. But when he needed to check down, he checked down like name a ball that was in harm's way the entire day. I think the only real bad throw he had was on the miscommunication where, you know, somewhat I think it was Mike maybe goes deep.

13:32He's looking for a comeback or a hitch. That's it, man. You had a ball muck down at the line of scrimmage. You had two drops. That's your four in completion. I got confirmation that phase on's pretty good and this defense can be pretty good. I thought, and again, it was a touchdown throw like it is what it is. Like that ball to Ethan Davis on drop number one, probably getting battered down, maybe intercepted against a good, it's a good set. Can we talk about this? Can we talk about this real quick that throw that throw? Was it a poorly thrown ball? Was he throwing it where he was taught to throw it where he was coached to throw it? You know, there was a safety in the middle of the field. Now I know there was a lot of room there, but there's a safety in the middle of field was phase on trying to throw it away from the safety to keep Ethan Davis from getting lit up. And he thought he could fit it in on that back shoulder. Was it just a poorly thrown ball? I thought it was a good throw. Somebody in my chat disagreed. We had some good back and forth like debate and I'm kind of like, you see it one way, any agrees with you? I maybe see it the other way. I don't know who's right. Who's wrong? Still a touchdown. Yeah, still a touchdown. That's the most important thing.

14:33The safety was around there, but like I didn't think the safety was close enough to make a pull. I mean, if you let him tremendously, then maybe I just looked at it like, I mean, he's still threw the ball behind him. And I think that, you know, that trailing corner like or that trailing star, like the defensive back there, I think, you know, if you had a little bit more speed and quickness, you're probably batting that ball down, you know, if it's this week or maybe if it's Texas or somebody else, I mean, again, it's not like it was a poor decision. It was a poor like, like what do you do in freshman mistake? One like that. I just thought that that wasn't in my opinion, his best throw, but it was a touchdown. None was it all the matter is in that football game. So I was blown away by FaZe on Brandon, sure it's Furman, but like the dude had five total touchdowns. Like I mean, they they they ran him inside the red zone. They ran him for two touchdowns inside the 10. I mean, he was impressive. He was super impressive. How much of a big deal this week is getting San Penelence and back for not only getting the run game off to a better star because I mean, if we're nitpicking here, like I didn't think the offensive line had a good day. I don't think the tackles played well, really, honestly.

15:35And the run game was awful in the first quarter. How big of a deal is it for to get San Penelence and back for a young quarterback making this first road start and really get the offense and the run game going a little bit earlier for the from a communication standpoint? Yeah, they I think it's huge. When you when you look at this offensive line and when you look at if you go back and watch the tape and I know you do, I know you rewatch the game multiple times. You break it down. You fast forward. You rewind. You go through it. I don't think the offensive line was as bad as we maybe thought coming out of it. I'm with you. I'm like, okay, you open the open the game. Nine carries 32 yards. I think three of those first nine carries. If I remember correctly, we're negative plays. And I think four more were maybe three yards or less. I can't remember the exact numbers. Tennessee did not start today running the football efficiently. However, they finished with 329 yards rushing. They average seven yards per carry on the ground. Josh Hyples track record tells me I don't need to worry about running the football. They average over 200 yards game in the five years he's been here. They lead the conference in rushing yards per game in the five years that he's been here. Three straight thousand yard rushers blah blah blah.

16:36You know this. They're not going to have trouble running the football. But when I look at that firm and game, how much of an impact was Sam Pendleton and shout out, Dober on the talking balls network. He brought this up on Wednesday night on our live stream. He looked back to Cooper Mace when Cooper was out. How much that impacted the offensive line. And when you go back and you watch the tape for Furman, it's not like we just get blown up or we can't get a push. It's that one guy doesn't do his job. One guy somewhere on that offensive line doesn't do his job, which leads to a negative play or a short yardage gain instead of being able to pop a run. Trent Thomas, for example, he whips on a block, tackle for loss. He sills his block. Javin Gordon goes for 25 yards. Like we're talking about 11 guys doing what they're supposed to do. So maybe not as bad as we thought. However, if you go look at the PFF grades, pretty dang bad running the football David Sanders, Jesse Perry 65, Nick Moore 61.8, Sham 59, Ori Williams 52. I think it's about finding your best five. But I think the communication and maybe some of these missed assignments, you get down there on the goal line first and goal from the one everybody's freaking out talking about getting

17:38blown off the line. No, we just didn't touch somebody. And how much of that comes from San Hamilton and his communication up front? Yeah, it's certainly it's not just the offensive on its tight ends. I mean, Josh Hoppe will mention that as well. And I agree. I mean, it's always a tie-ins. You know, whether it's Ethan Davis, Trent Thomas, as you mentioned right there, if it's you know, DeSan Brain, the tight ends had a big, a big part of that run game. And I just think like I think it was firm and I want to say they're overlooking them. And you're right. They ran for like 368 or whatever it was. Like, like it's going to be okay. I'm not worried about the run game. I'm not worried about this offensive line. But I wasn't in the first quarter like, I mean, come on now. Like David Sanders not playing well. I didn't think Jesse Perry played well. I thought the interior played a little bit better. Nick Moore, I thought from a physicality standpoint was fine. Now I don't know how many calls he missed or anything like that. Just his first start. I have no clue. But I just I wasn't very impressed with the tackles and it does feel like it does feel like that they are going to roll with the Perry at right tackle and in Sham at right guard because they're just more comfortable with that. I mean, treat to see how much Ori Williams plays in this football game.

18:40And again, I don't know. It just feels like since that's the combo they got the start and, you know, Ori Williams, I don't I don't think any tackles really play particularly well. So I mean, treat I'm kind of if they have six different offensive long combinations in the first nine series, again, Georgia Tech, I'm going to be blown away. Like you can't you won't have time for that. This is they know what they're doing. I get it. But like this is this is South Eastern Conference football. Like this isn't this isn't pop Warner like come on now. Like settling on your five or six and go like stop doing this crap. Like it's ferment. I get it. I can't that's one. That's one of my biggest pet peeves in all the football. Prue did it a couple of times when he was here. I'm like, what do you do? And like this is not middle school football. I can't stand it. But anyway, they got to beat against Georgia state. Canter, it got to beat against Georgia state. That's just the reality of the situation. I'm just I'm not I'm not trying to act like I know everything because I clearly don't. I'm not trying to act like I play football at the highest levels because I clearly did not. But I've been around the game my entire life. You don't rotate off into wine. At least at least line changes are like combo change.

19:42You might bring any guy here or there or whatever. And like I know they always talk about doing it, but they never do it. So I just I can't I so disagree with rotating off into lime. And it's not even funny. So hopefully they don't do that this week. I don't know why I got so far up about that. Just now what is face on branding? I got to do to be victorious in his first true road star. Where did boogie's five key not five just some keys to the game to be Georgia tech. What's he think about this football game? 22:50But he's something I've been wondering all we not really worried, but it is an unknown. I have two big unknowns in this game. The first, of course, in the most important is your quarterback. This will be his first true road game ever. This is not like going to Bryant Denny or, you know, Ben Hill Griffin or, you know, one of the or Columbia here a few weeks, you know, Kowell field in November. But he's never experienced anything like this before. So you're going into Bobby Dodd 55,000. It's going to be loud. How do you think Faeson's going to manage that part of the game that is unknown for him right now? I mean, I think you did a good job. Look, it's not just that it's his first road start. It's not just that it's his first, it's his first road game ever as a college football playout. He's a true freshman. He's never even, he's never even jumped on the bus and gone down the road with this football team. So I think it is a big factor going into this game. I thought you, you look at that first start in Neal and Stadium. You know, the nerves have to be up. Certainly didn't look like it. He looked cool, calm, collected. I think he's going to be cool, calm and collected going into this game.

23:51Well, we'll see how he handles the atmosphere. You know, in the Furman game, I kind of went into that game saying, don't give me this nonsense of, oh, we need to give him a couple of easy throws. We need to warm him up. We hear that and at such coach speak. Maybe do that in this Georgia Tech game. Maybe give him a couple of easy throws because it's his first road game. Maybe get him comfortable. I think you go out and run him. I'm first play. Give me a quarterback power. Just let him go run the football, let him get hit. You know, again, that's kind of a cliche thing. Some, some people like to get hit to wake up. It's like a fighter, man. Once you get punched in the face. All right. I know I'm in a fight. Now let's go do what we're here to do. I think maybe run phase on right out of the game. Just get him warmed up, get him in the game and get him going. I think he's going to be just fine. I think Georgia Tech's probably a better atmosphere than maybe going to the swamp for your first road game, going to LSU for your first road game, going to one of these big SEC environments. Still going to be 55,000 strong. I think it's going to be interesting to see how much orange is in that stadium. But yeah, just get phase on warmed up early and let him go play ball. Yeah. Again, like I say this all the time, that helped Niko a lot.

24:53They let Niko run a little bit early on in the game. He kind of get hit a little bit and he pop up and go. I mean, that's that that helped him. I don't know if that's something that phase on needs, but I'm with you. I like, I like getting that first hit out of the way. It's like, okay, here we go. Well, let's roll another question I have in this football game. And this isn't a concern or anything. It's just an unknown because Tennessee's rebuilt secondary. They were not tested against Furman. This will be the first game to test it. I love that secondary. You and I big TJ Metcalf fans. He was flying around the other day in the run game, right? Kay and Lee Ty Redmond, Kwe Moss. Of course, the only one I haven't mentioned yet is Desjardins Lane. Like I love the rebuilt secondary. I do have questions about death behind those guys. But anyway, they were tested at all. I worked them in Doze made a couple of throws. Like I felt like as the game went along, they they tried to run the football a little bit more, but he made some throws. I was I was I was impressed with him. He's certainly not his brother, but I was impressed in his first start. How do you think Tennessee's new look secondary is going to fair down there? It gets Mendoza and the yellow jackets. Again, you bring up a good boy. It's Furman, but right. That's been the theme of the week.

25:53It's Furman, but it's Furman. But how many times did you hear Ty Redmond talked about on Saturday? Not at all. How many times you hear Kay and Lee talked about not at all? If you're not talking about the corners, then that means they're out there doing their job. I thought Trepo T played good. I thought Tevis. Metcalf played well. We're all talking about TJ Tess came here to play football too. He didn't just follow Big Brother here for the heck of it. He came here to play football and I thought Tevis metcalf played well too. Part of that part of George Tech in the passing game is, is how do they pressure? How much pressure do they bring on little Mendoza? Shout out Scoot for the nickname. I like little Mendoza. I also kind of like coach Jay called a mediocre Mendoza. I kind of like that name too. But all he had against Colorado was him. himself the passing game. They got nothing going on the ground. And I have a feeling if you're one dimensional against Jim Knowles, I think that's going to backfire on you. Does George Tech look to get Mendoza involved in the running game? He only ran the ball three times against Colorado and that wasn't running.

26:54That was getting sack three sacks lost to 22 yards. How much pressure does Jim Knowles dial up? I said, I talked about confirmation earlier. I got confirmation that this defense has the opportunity to be pretty good. We'll learn more about it this week. But but I think Jim Knowles is going to show him a little sign. I don't think we're going to hide anything on Saturday. I don't think we're going to be vanilla on Saturday. I think Jim Knowles is coming and he's coming to play on Saturday. And he's got Ari on Carter back. What's that look like? How many snaps does that cost Jeremiah T. Lander, who I think played a pretty dang good football game on Saturday? I like this secondary. I agree with what you said 100%. I like the starters. I like Metcalf. I like Duwon Lane. I like Kay and Lee. I like Ty Redman. I like Quay Moss. Keep your eye on Quay Moss this weekend. I think he could be a guy that we are all talking about coming out of this game against Georgia Tech. I think Jim Knowles may have an ace up his sleeve with Quay Moss this weekend. Weak, weak nod, nod. Keep your eye on him. I like the starters. Do they have enough depth to make a run throughout the course of the season?

27:55We'll see. But we're going to learn more. You're asking me for the answer. I don't have the answer. I need to see it on Saturday in Bobby Dot Stadium. I am so intrigued about what again, I went through there and track when the when the first team defense is out there and again, defense, they mix them actually entire time, but they ran more three, three personnel than four, two personnel. Now, does that change? And because of that, Jordan Norman only got 14 snaps. So does that change against a quality opponent? How much three, three personnel do they run? And to your point, you brought it up is Arian Carter going to take some of those snaps off the edge from Jeremiah T lander. I think that would be in Tennessee's best interest. I think T lander needs to play deserves to play. But when you play against the South, these are conference teams. I think, you know, have an Arian Carter on the edge more so than T lander would probably be the right move in my opinion. He's bigger, faster, stronger. You know, but they both going to play. So I, you know, but again, how does, how does all that work? I don't know. We're going to find out, but I'm excited to see what that looks like.

28:56I'm going to see what this T defense, this team, this quarterback looks like against a team with a pulse. All right. Buggy out the door. I know you're going to have some shows and all that coming up. You have a pre game show, you have a post game show. I know you're going to have a Friday show. At some point, I would imagine I just said that, but I'm sure you will. It's football season. Um, give me a score prediction. If you have one, if not, don't worry about it. And how do you see this game playing out? It's you and I've been confident about this game from the get go watching Georgia Tech against Colorado. Certainly didn't do anything to minimize that confidence. Where are you out on Tennessee and Georgia Tech? I think that Colorado game is why so many people have kind of changed their output. You and I have been confident about this game. I've not really been worried about Georgia Tech the entire off season. Some people were. I think those people saw them lose to Colorado and the way that that game played out and said, all right, I'm not worried about this game clearly. Vegas somehow saw something in that Georgia Tech team that caused them to ship the line. I think it was like eight and a half up to almost two touchdowns. Now, how does Georgia Tech respond to that loss? And we heard from head coach Brent Key who said they were poorly coached.

29:58They were poorly prepared. They were poorly disciplined and he called his football team soft. Now, how do you respond to that? I think it's very interesting to see how does Georgia Tech respond to their head football coach calling them soft? I think a big part of this for me. I like Tennessee in this game. I've always liked Tennessee in this game and we come out of the firm and game going, can we run the football? Can our offensive line get a push up front? I think it comes down to the run game and you look at what Georgia Tech did against the run, playing against Colorado. They gave up almost 200 yards on the ground. But if you look at it, Colorado carried the football 49 times. 49 times, their grades weren't as bad as maybe the stats look. But I think Tennessee is going to respond on the ground. I think this game comes down to Tennessee running the football against Georgia Tech. I think having Sam Pendleton back gets that front five right. We're not going to see what you talked about earlier, Ken. And we're not going to see six different combinations on the offensive line in the first nine series. That's not going to happen.

31:00I don't think we're going to see this stupid jumbo full house backfield that we saw. Maybe we'll see it some. I don't think we're going to live in that like it felt like we lived in it against firm and you're going to see Josh I was real often. You're going to see Josh I was it was averaged over 200 yards, a ground on the ground every single game. I think this football game is going to come down to the line of scrimmage and running the football and it's going to come down to that gym. Those defense, I'm excited to see what Jim knows brings on Saturday. But I've got Tennessee winning this game. I think it's I don't even think it's close. I really don't even think it's close. I got Tennessee 38 Georgia Tech 17. Whoo. Sign me up for that, baby. I like it. I like it. I like it. Tennessee 2 and O going into the what's kind of so are they the owls? Kind of so say the out. I think they're the owls. Other the fighting former coach. I was going to say that they're the fighting Jerry Max. Fighting Jerry Max. And then you got Texas coming up.
