I've always wondered what it would be like if you went to the zoo and tried to get a silverback gorilla to join a team's call. But then I realized that's my every day. You'll miss me when I'm gone. That's all I have to say. If only for the entertainment value. I don't know. Well, try and man. So by the way, I didn't look at this because I don't have a horizon account. So who cares except I did think of you. And supposedly there's some kind of deal that sounds like what you were asking for. So I want to look for the icon that is we can do this real time because why not. Verizon offers iPhone 18 pro with yearly upgrades no trade and required.
Interesting. Well, wait, what does that mean? You must be there. Switched of Ryzen, so we're not doing that. Sounded I mean the description of it. I only looked at the headline, but it sounded sort of like what you were saying. So I don't want to pay anything extra. But there's already too many words on this page. It is the wireless carrier. Yeah, yeah, they're designed to confuse. Save up to $1,200 with my plan. I am not on my plan. I'm on the ultimate Vista extras plan or whatever the hell is called. It's literally called ultimate and every time I read it is a lit. My game pass ultimate Vista ultimate extras, whatever. You get like dream scape is one of your parks. Dream scene save up to $1,200 trading an eligible phone and add a new line. So I'm out. Bundling save whatever. Beaver, so none of this applies to me.
So this doesn't help you at all, but I'm almost certainly doing this. I'm already set off this process, but I think I commented to you the other day that Samsung, Apple and Google all handle trade-ins differently, right? Does this sound familiar? Yes, probably. I'm mostly when I'm talking, which is completely fair. But the way Apple does it is inarguably the best of the group because you can go to the Apple website, go to the bottom menu, there's a trade-in thing. You can just trade-in devices, right? And I think I made the point yes because you can't trade in homepods, right? But I also started line and I mentioned this probably yesterday's, but whenever it was that Apple was offering like crazy trade-in values on their previous gen devices right now. And they're not going to be as weird about like surface scratches and things like that. And so they don't really even ask you about this anymore or at least for now. They don't anyway. So my, my phone, which is a year old and I made me someone can prove it wrong.
But I want to say it was $1,100 when it was new like one year ago. They're offering me $985 on trade. Wow. Yeah. So I'd be stupid not to trade that thing in, right? So the, here's the problem. Well, there's multiple problems, but say multiple phones, no big deal. Like, and I have a phone like I'll be, you know, I don't need the phone, but. I do want to get an iPhone eventually, right? But I don't know which one I want. So I, I mean, I guess in any of you, even if I went to the new Pro Max, I guess it'd be sort of worth it. Right. That's probably $1,200. So I'd pay what, what I'd say $1,250, $1,000, or whatever. It's like, that's, that's not too bad, right? But I might want the next iPod air, right? iPhone air. Maybe I do want the fold, like, but that thing's coming out in mid October when we're going to be away. I'm sure it's going to be short supply. So it makes sense for me to wait. But if I wait to trade in the phone, it's not going to be worth this much, right? So like I'm kind of uniquely positioned to just take advantage of this. So even if I wait till the spring and buy like an iPhone air to or whatever, I'm sure I'm not going to get $985 of this phone then, you know, tell it.
Get you. I know. I just logged into my account to try to see like what Verizon would do, like when something logged in. The 18 hasn't even been in there. I paste some drastic progress. Like, haha, haha. I just like all what the only options are the iPhone 17 currently. Like isn't that can't you pre order the 18 today? Oh, right. Actually, I don't maybe not. It might be Saturday when you can pre order that might be why. I think it's Saturday. Make him. I know that's a weird day, but I believe you can pre order it starting Saturday. Let's hit. You talking about pro right like a view pricing. I believe it's Saturday on 912. Oh, yeah, they're probably like we probably shouldn't do pre-orders in 911. That might be bad. So. There you go. Yeah, right. Because I think normally it would be today. It would be today. Yeah, so 5 a.m. Pacific 8 a.m. here.
And then it comes out once the 18th like next week. Yeah, so it's coming up like you order it six days before it comes out. But this is the one I'm least likely to get personally. It's just that but I mean for you with Verizon and you're going to have to I guess wait for that. Yeah, 12 bucks. Well, I say pro taxes. Someone could prove me around pro next was March. 13 it's 13 net or bucks. So must have been 12 bucks last year. Anyhow. I think it's important that we spend a significant amount of our time. Figuring out how we can throw Apple more money. It is it is a novel a novel a novel. I should walk into like the Apple strip that can I trade in these like these things for a full. Pilo electronics level table here's here's two surface duos. They're called the same thing. Can you give me excuse me, sir? This isn't pine stars.
Yeah, let me call it an expert. He just slides them off into the trash can. Oh, man. Yeah, I don't know either. Anyways, Microsoft's going to build more data centers shocking. Yeah, hopefully they'll build them in. I don't know Antarctica or. Yeah, some place where no one lives. I guess that's the whole thing. I don't know, even people probably live there who knows, but. I don't know. I should just build them on an iceberg. That'd be fun. And the data center is a fun because it tells me that everyone in the world is going to share my tonight. And they'll they'll hear is that buzzing sound all the time and they'll wonder why they're slowly going insane. So much it asked him to like, why don't you build these things underwater? Remember they did that single singular. Yeah, the center underwater and they're like, oh, this is the future. Yeah, this is the next box one down there with it in the data center. Not connected to anything. This is the suck it up. Just.
What don't metrics just down there just screaming at the top of his lungs. Whatever like college any ghosts has never been updated. Honestly, that might be a big perk. I mean, there's no skill based matchmaking. I can actually play against random people, not people who the AI has determined is compatible that. I don't know what I'm talking about cheating and college. By the way, to get off on the tangent. So say this randomly mentioned that. And it's like a lot of things. I don't until fairly recently. I'm not sure. I can't say I've ever seen it like I don't. I've never once thought to report someone for cheating, you know. But not yesterday, maybe the day before I there was this guy who was basically flying around. I mean, he wasn't flying full on flying Superman flying, but. It was just like the way he was moving. I was like, no. This is not. This isn't just some young kid who's really fast. It's like there's something wrong. It just had a weird vibe to it. And I think I might have finally witnessed it.
So now up and arms about it because it's a serious problem. But yeah, I hear complaints about this all the time and I never really. Mostly because it's way more prevalent on PC than. Yeah, but I'm playing on PC. Oh, well, that's why you seen it. That's your fault. I wonder, I mean, there might be a setting. I don't know this for a fact, but. The way he was moving, it was like in the old days, like if you were playing like a doom or quake or whatever. And you have like just keyboard controls, the way as a keys, whatever. And then you had to go to keyboard mouse. And. At first, it's very difficult. It took me a long time to make the transition. But what forces you to do it is you see the guys zip it around because they're, you know, the most thing is like. Crazy fast reflex. And that's what it felt like, but I feel like in college, there must be a switch where you say. Like I only want to play in games against people with controllers, right? So it'd be like PS5 Xbox and then. PC guys on controllers. That not a thing. I'm not even sure. I feel like it must be, but. I don't know if I know in console, you can get rid of PC peasants.
Yeah, well, you would want to console. I mean, especially if they were using a keyboard mouse, right? I mean, I don't even know how you would compete with those people. I mean, let's get a little bit. Call of duty somehow so sophisticated that it handles the different latency issues on both ends. And we already know they're not doing that. I get shot going around corners all the time. This is like the. The thing everyone will remember about college duty when it's long gone is like, remember the time we were playing and I ran around the corner and then you shot me somehow and I died around the corner. Yeah, that's called duty. Like. Very, very common. But on my screen, you weren't. Yeah, whatever we got football back, watched football last night. The Rams did a great job of not being prepared, trying to be real creative. Do you see all this stuff about their travel? Yeah. So there were two schools of thought. So they played in Australia, Melbourne, Australia. And you know the first game was actually once in a year, whatever. The first this international game, whatever everyone called doesn't matter. Okay.
So the 49ers went down a week early to acclimate themselves because they played at 10 o'clock 10 a.m. Which is. I don't know the time changes. Yeah. But it wasn't makes sense to go there and play this game. But the Rams were trying to do something fancy where they left. Like 24 hours. Packed it by the time change at all. Yeah, they were trying not to get acclimated at the time at all. And like they were, they were only in Australia for something like for like 24 hours total. Yeah, it was like the big controversy was like who had the better travel plans? Well, the Rams got blown out. So apparently as it turns out for elite NFL athletes trying not to acclimate to the local time zone doesn't work. Didn't well. What was the other team? The Rams animals 49ers. So you know, it's bad enough playing in Europe, you know, for a week. Like did both of these teams get a buy week next week? I mean, how do you? I think they do. Well, it's not a buy week, but they're they played on whatever. Yeah, so they played until next Sunday. Yeah, so they get 10 days.
Yeah. Okay. I mean, that's a top turn. I'm still not acclimated. Like I got back from. What day is it? A joke on Sunday. I'm still a little. You know, like you get up a little too early every day. Like, you know, you still it's still kind of weird, right? I know I'm an old guy, but I mean. That takes that wrecks havoc on you. Or 10. Yeah, well, they tried to just not. And. I thought someone. Someone was like, hey, chat, GPT. You know, and there was like, that's a great idea coach, whoever your name is. You know, they kept talking about how they have been preparing like to do exactly this. Like they sent interns or whatever to Australia to like try this out. To like, can you fly in like 18 hours before the game? I'm going to get a high level and then fly back. As it turns out, interns or whatever staff are not the same as elite NFL athletes. I mean, I assume when they do this are all in life, like beds, they're sleeping.
You know, like it's probably as comfortable as it can be. You bet it's still a play. You've had oxygen tanks for everybody. Yeah, but it's still a plane. So it. Just whatever. I didn't know where to go. I'm sure that I did. This is the guy when the end of the elevator is refalling. He says, you know, right before it hits the ground, jump. Yeah. And you're like, yeah, the floor of this thing is not glass for one thing. But like, how am I. How do I know it's like, and also physics? What are you talking about? Like. Anyways, we'll be back with more physics discussion on Monday. Thank you. That's a.
