Farmfoods Wigston Store Closes, New Aylestone Location Opens

0:00On March 7th, here's the latest out of Lester. Rumors had been swirling online about the farm food store on Bell Street in Wichston closing down. The supermarket chain has now confirmed it will shed its doors for good on Sunday, March 29th. This branch has served the town center for more than a decade. To clear out inventory, the store is holding a 50% off sale on all stock right up until closing. A spokesperson thanked loyal customers for their support over the years. Local shoppers in Wichston will miss the convenience spot, but the closure won't leave a big gap in options for long. Farm foods is opening a brand new, much larger store, nearby on Aelstone Road and Aelstone, set to launch on Thursday, April 2nd. This new location at 501 Aelstone Road will stock a full range of groceries, frozen foods, fresh produce, and household items. It features a big free car park and stays open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
