This is happening because the Reform Counselor for that area, Helen Butler, stepped down. She made the announcement back on August 17th, saying it wasn't an easy choice, but ultimately, family came first. She wants to spend more time with their kids while they're young, instead of being tied up in meetings. Now, for the folks living in Sheppshed, if you're not already registered to vote, you've got until midnight on Tuesday, September 29th, to get that done. There are about 8,600 people who are eligible to cast a ballot in this election. The deadline for anyone wanting to run as a candidate is four in the afternoon on Friday, September 18th. The county council is reminding everyone how important it is to vote. They say local counselors really help shape the services that are provided across Lester Shire every single day. The Conservatives have 18, and the Liberal Democrats have 11. We also have two labor seats, one for the Green Party, one independent, and a seat for Restore Britain.
