So the Falcons are practicing, duh, as they get ready for the season and reports from what went down a day at practice. Mike, and I don't want to say conflicting reports, but again, this is all just from the video stuff that the Falcons put out there. And our buddy Daniel Flick from the AJC. First of all, what's our man Flickshane? Well, Billy Bowman was back at practice. That's good. That's great. That is great. And I'm, I can't, this dude's a ballhawk to add him back to the secondary is a big deal. But also, this is from a few hours ago. He says, you know, a couple of the things from Falcons social media clips today at practice. And again, you're going to, I don't understand, close practice. Okay. So what do you mean close practice? I need to know what's going on behind the scenes with the quarterback battle. So he says, Tua hit a pass to Drake London against Mike Hughes. So first team reps for Tua, no clue on pinnocks.
And I'm like, okay, look, if you're the Falcons and you're preparing Michael pinnocks, like we think they are, we're just taking these reps, put it out there. Let the fans see. And to not have done that and again, I haven't seen all the clips. So I don't want to speak before clips all automatically start showing up because we know y'all listen up there. But the idea I thought was, hey, we're getting him ready. Here's a few clips. Like he looks good. Maybe they just didn't see it. Or maybe I don't know. So with that said, that's why I said some of you may not like it because I think that's the impression right now. At least that's my impression, Mike. I feel like after yesterday's press conference with Ian, that's the plan. But Ian did say and we played that sound bite that there's splitting reps still and that they'll make a decision. And my guess is guys wants the decision is made. Then that's the guy that's going to be taking the first team reps all the time getting ready for the Steelers. Right. Michael Pettics, tune in. We've talked about that at length. Guy just left who's going up to the Steelers gave us sure hope it's panics.
I said, well, prepare to be disappointed. But we'll see. And again, maybe we don't. Again, and this is pure speculation is we can only go by the intrepid reporters like, you know, our buddy Josh Kendall and Mark Ramondi. Don't forget, D-Lad, both nice boards. Or course, our man, Flek with the with the AJC. One piece of news that Carl brought up is Jesse Bates back on the field for practice because we were worried that he might start on the Pupp list or at least miss a few weeks. We already know that Billy Bowman's, you know, getting better and he's not going to be on the Pupp list, but Jesse missed a big chunk of the preseason. But he's also on OG and a warrior and you know what Jesse Bates brings to the party. But still good to hear these out there and get into a rhythm with just about 10 days to go. All right. So, and again, we'd love to tell you like a breakdown as we would at camp, but we're in a different part of the season now. They've not only broken camp, but you know, today they were practicing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium like it's things are changing from the standpoint of now we're getting in the game preparation and the Falcons are going to be very careful about what they let out
and what they don't. So, that's why I'm going to be very, you know, careful about not saying that of course Pennage was there, but I just think like if you want to infuse this fan base, that's the stuff that should be putting put out there, right? Though those are the videos I think most people want to see. It's like it's amazing. Bolton hit the ground. Correct. Come on, we're going to have to wait. Again, guys, as day days preach to me, patients, now I don't really have any of that body, but I'm trying, trying very hard. So, like as I said, but there's nothing as Carl just laid out, when we have pieces of information that's substantive, then you can say, hey, I heard, you know, he did this, you know, you can quantify his success at practice. That's right. Now, we don't have that, so you don't have to wait for it to play out, but as we learn, the captains are not, are named quarterback is not one of the captains a little unusual. That is because we haven't named the starting quarterbacks. That's correct. And wouldn't that be unfair to the guys who have been, you know, what you'd expect, Jesse Bates, divide, I said divide Diablo. Chris Lindstrom are in trepid guard and who else put the star of the show, B. John Robinson.
Also Nick Folk, as you know, special teams always has a representative. We had a great interview with Nick Folk, I thought it was great, but I mean, an old school guy who's been there and done that and he's bigger than your average checker. Now, his big is more than Anderson, but he's a big dude and he's got a good enough leg. And now that's not an area of concern. Is he going to hit a 65-year-old or no? No, that's probably not going to be happening, but you got a guy that more importantly will not miss extra points, keep us in the games and do the high percentage kicks he's supposed to make. I agree. You know, the thing that fascinated me when we talked to Nick Folk was, I love the weight room. I love going in there. And I was like, most kickers are like, nah, I'm going with a hint of a German accent. Yeah, I was like, nah, but he likes going in there. He likes pumping iron. I got to tell you, this picture of the Falcons put out, by the way, Devon Diablo, I said Devon Diablo. Devon Diablo. Looks like a giant. Dadey, look at this. He looks like he's seven foot tall on this picture. I mean, it's like he's so much bigger than everybody else. Well, I mean, that is AI. That's something that's like, I mean, we spoke with the man.
I don't think he's towering over us. We cracked it up five. But he is, what is he, 65? Yeah, 65? Dadey, look it up. I've got 18. I think he's 65. 18 windows open on my computer right now. It's going to destroy itself. It's going to explode. It's going to explode. I figured out how tall is that guy. But one guy, and I'm excited about it, and that's Kendall Daniels. You know, I mentioned every time we talk about that linebacker core. I think this dude has got a chance to shine. I think Jeff Olbrick, I'm not saying it's going to be a pet project, but I do think you're going to see some opportunities to get him out there. And I still think, Karana, we debated can a guy can make the transformation from safety to linebacker to can he walk up and be an oil bee? You know that maybe gets after the quarterback a little bit? I still think he's got the size for that too. I did too. No, you're right. And by the way, to your point about it, if we don't have sufficient pass for us, he may be trying to get some reps or he may see special blitz back to you again. Yeah, born out of necessity. But I just think fun guy, big high energy guy, big linebacker, energy carl.
Divine Diablo is 6'3", 223. Okay. Shoes on, 6'5. Yes. But yes, okay. I didn't really, I just remember seeing him when we talked to him. By the way, we mentioned this yesterday, one of John Frickie's pet projects, Taco Fall. Taco Fall will be the attraction. I think the Celtics picked him. Taco Fall. Are they going to invite him to whatever their version of the campus? The six, I said the Celtics, the six. How many seven plus foot guys on the six is going to have? I mean, I feel like I just know this Taco Fall will be the attraction. I mean, the hell with LeBron, let's go see Taco Fall. Man, that was a great take. John, I do think about John Frickie. We love it. We said this all the time. It's not just, you know, the hair brain schemes that he comes up with, but it's the conviction with John delivers this stuff. A few years ago, Taco Fall was in the Glee. Right. And he came down to college parking. I got a picture with him because I was just like, I sit at Frickie and legitimate seven,
whatever the hell he is. Seven seven. You're looking like up at this TV right now, like, okay, I saw a minute ball play when I had bullets tickets back in the day coming. What was he? Seven six seven. Seven. Yeah, yeah, but skinny almost looked like he was part of the aliens. He came out of the ship because it's like being a sandwich. He was getting a speaking of sandwiches. Who ordered the bacon? I did first. I did. Are you watching your cholesterol? Hey, man, that's Keto. That's Keto approved, man. That's Keto approved. Not with this damn sugar on it. Oh, sure it is, man. Come on, man. It's the billionaire bacon now. I know. They just brought the bacon out and she puts it right in my grill and I see you just you're chopping down. Well, my people in that put me onto it. So you had a plate of this? Yeah. Yeah, he's going to put me on. Are you watching your cholesterol? Well, Carl, we were talking to our guy from Colorado and while he was giving us long-winded answers, I was able to simultaneously eat the bacon by moving my microphone up and down. It's his veteran move. You're an extra move.
You're an extra move. A guy who's eating a chicken and waffle sandwich and he's got his girlfriend. I didn't get my chicken and waffle last night. Details to follow. We're going to talk. Long night for the kid last night. Okay. Kid being me. Can't wait to hear that. You guys can chime in. I always guys. 404-726-0929. Look, we're not trying to give you any doubt or false reporting. We're just telling you what's out there when it comes to the Falcons, but they are preparing for the Steelers. But this quarterback thing, like this is the week. We come up a Labor Day. We're getting ready for the Steelers. We need clarity. We need certainty. And I need to know, okay, let's get behind whoever the hell it is and let's go to work. Well, for a hot minute there, we had a bunch of mostly dog fans saying, let's go trade with the Rams for Stetson Bennett. What? I said that was nonsense. In the whole due respect, you got to slow your roll on that. But pro football talk reporting, the Rams' depth chart is out. It list Stetson Bennett as the number two. Oh, wow. Stetson, the top 15 pick, R13 pick, which we gave to the Rams, which is part of the James Pierce junior trade.
Ty Simpson is number three on the Rams' depth chart. So he's going to be the practice squad quarterback then? Yeah. He's on the roster. You can't put Ty Simpson on practice squad. Somebody who claim up. So they're carrying three. Okay. Oh, I'm thinking four quarterbacks. Yeah, I'm thinking four. I'm thinking four. We got four. They got three. Yeah, we got, well, how long are we going to have four? Well, I mean, I do think we require an injury or a team looking by now. It would probably happen if we were going to move a guy like Cooper Rush. And by the way, this idea just had my boy at the bar asked me to dig on trade to him. Bro, it's got to be a mark. Right now. Yeah, there's no market. Come on. There's no market. Hey, let's welcome the Western, you're, we got our Western Georgia boys just rolled in. They're ahead now for some accident diffraction tonight, baby. Fair enough. West Georgia. KSU. Yeah, Kennesaw. Carolton is a, Carolton loves Duke's and Bell. They do. That's right, bro. We found that out at the golf tournament. Yeah, man. Yeah. Number one in Cal County, Joe. Mike, before we get to Falcons and a lot more stuff in the five o'clock, what are we have coming up in Guy Talk? Okay, starting with a couple of things you're going to be interested in.
What hall of favor this year in Cooper's Tats class basically went off on everything that's wrong with Major League Baseball. Find out about that. And every homeowner's nightmare. Well, there's a lot of things that can be a nightmare for a homeowner, but this is definitely on the top three. I experienced it last night. Listen what happened to me coming up next live from two pigs in Kennesaw.
