Very often, I get into discussions with people about the role of government and they will inevitably tell me that government is a "Necessary Evil" that we just have to tolerate. The government's response to COVID-19 didn't give us much, but it did manage to show us just how EVIL government could be. How the hubris, the poor incentive structure, the financial connectedness of Public Health, the FDA and Big Pharma all combined to create a miserable totalitarian experience for all Americans. I'm not trying to be hyperbolic but I am trying to get people to see that government is just straight up EVIL.
