I know we're not we're we're straining away from the club and but I just thought reset. Perl, Perlough, Andy, Andrew, that's what we'll go with moving forward outside of this. It's been a journey. You know, get away from the club and there's all sorts of things. I see Dan has to think every time he says it. I've been Andy, Andrew, Perlough, Perl. You know, my friends call me Perl, but you guys can call me Andrew. Oh, what about Andy? No, no, it's just call me Perl is better. I don't know. Andy, Dan calls me Andy and it works and my mom calls me Andy. That's it. That's the only two people in the world. All right. I'm going to join that list. I'll make it an even Andy. All right. I didn't invite you. Well, welcome back, man. We're happy to have you back. Thank you. So we had a big announcement this week. We've been teasing, kind of teasing this announcement on the 1215 club for the last month or so.

4:08It's been a lot of work that's gone into this Eric. You've put in a lot of work to kind of get this jump started. We've started this. So we started not so fast. Andy's back with us. He's going to be hosting a show with Paul after a damn Patrick show from 12 to 1. What has it been like being back? You've been back for about a month and a half now. Yeah. Rehearsing and just hanging out with the guys and kind of just getting back in the groove. Oh, it's awesome. Yeah, it's been it's so weird. I walked in that door in mid July and it felt like I never left for a day. I don't know if you guys felt like just seeing me walk around. It felt like I was walking around like, oh, hey, what's up? What's up, my club? What's up, Andrew? Like I didn't feel like anyone even noticed that I had been gone for four years. Yeah. But it's been so fun. Of course, the show has been started. So that's been a little easy. But it's just been just like just a lot of fun. Yeah, the energy is also the energy is great here since I left. There's just I talked about this in

5:12the interview the other day. You walk outside. There's like nine different things going on. Not that they weren't always like that. But now like the DP show, Gamble Studios right outside ours. It's just a lot of activity and energy and it's awesome. Yeah, well, we've alluded to or we've not alluded to. We have specifically mentioned that we've hired a bunch of new people and like that was a part of the process of finding new people. Not only skilled people, people that would fit in with the culture that we've built here over the last culture. The dance built here over the last 20 years. People who can do their work, but also get along with each other and can shoot the for lack of a better way of saying it. What what was the genesis of this show? Yeah, well, you know, working closely with peacock and thinking about what does the future look like with, you know, if Dan's not here, right? And so and that's kind of been my genesis the last six months of like, you know, what are we doing? That's why we we move the podcast out here. We built a new studio for gamble and for a podcast and you know, brought up at the confessional and

6:14added to the staff, you know, we Dan and I kind of like, okay, what are we going to do? And so then at the same time, just having a conversation with peacock about the future and that sort of thing. He's like, what about doing a fourth hour with the damn Patrick show? We're like, well, I don't know about that. What was the answer to that? I did not bring it to Dan. You did it. No. And so I mean, I've said, talked about it, but yeah. And so then it was like, all right, well, if you know, if that's a need and something that they want, then what can we do? And so started working with Paul and you know, immediately started thinking about Andrew and you know, recently become a free agent, right? Because this conversation started in February. I think it March or February. What? Yeah. Wait. Well, internally it was it was February and then you know, it's quickly started talking to Andrew. And so, you know, there's it takes a long time to do contracts and figure out distribution plans, all sort of thing. And so really everything was solidified by middle of June. And astute viewers may have noticed Andrew at Lake Tahoe. And that

7:21was when we first started, you know, ideating and working back together basically full time. Yeah, I mean, we've been doing some ideating before. You know, I was just thinking about something, you know, one advantage regardless of Paul and I as town or whatever, just you can never have another show that's 60 feet away from the Dan Patrick show studio. Like sense of place informs the show. And I think that was on your mind too, Eric. Like this man cave, I've been gone for four years and I've been in a bunch of different studios. There's nothing like this. So it's like such a built in advantage to be here and to set all the resources, not just technical, just sort of the fact that I can go down the hall. And for example, today I'm like, oh, we're doing this thing on draftable quarterbacks. I'm like, right, you have a list, right? And Ray goes, yeah, give me five minutes. There's just so much going on here. I think that kind of, I hope that it's sort of like, it's all part of one big sort of DP show universe. Yeah. Ray is kind of like the rain man of quarterbacks. I love to do NFL drafts. He's our gum. Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I mean, he's kind of taken some of my roles. Can I just talk about the single white female stuff

8:25going on with Ray? I mean, I've been kind of like, you know, because I would get a, you know, I'd get like two years ago, he got a text, hey, Andrew, any angles on the wild card game and then I'd hear it on the damn Patrick show three days later. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. You walked so Ray could crawl. No, no, Ray and I, Ray and I texted often. People probably do not know that. He would tell us all the time. I'll often you guys text. Yeah, yeah, no, Ray is really fun to talk sports. I like going to the back room and Ray is always in the middle of some sports debate too and all the guys are now that you're dealing, you would be in these debates too, but you're in the front room. A lot of times I'm tempted to go bother dealing during the show, but which you totally can, by the way, I would mind. You know, I'm, if anything during the breaks, I mean, they're, I'm actually pretty much always just standing just packing it up on the golf simulator. We're talking about like Chinese suit with Todd. We're talking about Chinese suit with Todd. One of the best parts about having McLeven back or Andrew back is Andy. Oh, Pearl. Pearl back is that he's been here like

9:29he said since mid June, early July and trying to avoid him on camera because that was the, the comment said he would run into. To not blow the surprise. Yeah, and run into the control and say, I'm going to go get coffee really quick. It's like, all right, I'll avoid taking the camera in the kitchen. Eric. Yeah, I was just going to add part of adding the staff and, you know, again, not to reharp on it, but like selecting the right people was like, yeah, okay, great. Can you add it? Okay, great. Yeah, but like, were you, did you play in a sport in college? You know, do you, you know, so, and that's like, like Jack, for instance, like, you know, played high school hockey and soccer, I think. Yeah. And Morgan, who's, you know, been involved in sports, there's just a lot of energy. So, by the way, a lot of young people who are very mature, by the way, too, like, Jack, Jack is, how old is he? He's 21. I found that out yesterday. He's, he's, he's, I was in 80 to 20, what Jack is this fits right in. Like, he's an adult. It's really weird. I figured he was at least, like, raise age. Yeah, okay. So I'm not the only one. No, not at all. I was shocked. We were playing

10:32golf with him yesterday. And I was like, what's it feel like to be like 24 or 25? He's like, I'm 21 years old. That's like that. He's also a really good golf. Yeah, he's really good. Yeah, he's, he's the best golfer. By far. Yeah. Yeah. He's actually a really good editor. Quite responsible, too. Yeah. Yeah. Which that's rare around here as well. Well, that's not really important. He's a great golfer. I had, I had Jack in class probably three months ago. And I didn't know, I mean, I didn't know much about him. I just, you know, he was good editor. I saw that he was talented and very skilled. And I brought the opportunity to him. And now I feel like I know a completely different person than that work, you know, that was in my classroom at that time. Yeah. Our producer and not so fast. Scott Bessina. He's young, too. Yeah. He told me the other day, he's the oldest person in that room. I'm like, how is that possible? It's crazy. I mean, he's he's in his 30s. But he was laughing about it. He's like, yeah, I'm usually the young guy in the room. And now I'm the elder statesman. And, but no, it's such a good group. I gotta be honest, I love this point and one thing that I was promised a basketball basketball. Yeah. I was told that

11:32there was an elaborate sports league going on at all times. Yeah, your show screwed it up. Yeah. I know. I know. So, but I have got to we all the retire. Yeah, yeah. There was, you know, a lot of pickleball before I got here and I played twice. The first time I haven't picked up a pickleball back in four years. I come in the next morning and I hear like random people breaking down the results. Yeah. You're like, yeah, I heard Pearl have had a bunch of unforced errors. I lost you good. I'm like, so not only would you do play, it's fully reported to everybody and everybody talks about it. Rumors on your pickleball game spread very quickly and they weren't very good. Oh, can we get Jack out here? I played much better than X game. They're not rumors. They're all facts. What about Ray? I played better in the second. You did play a lot better. Yeah, we still pick on you. Yeah. So what about a UA coming back? Oh, I don't know. I don't know. We have the manpower now. We do. Yeah. Why do I feel like we're all more susceptible to injury than we were five years? Yeah. I will get hurt. It's just a matter of 10 times out of shape. But I'm not gonna play. So you won't have to worry about the enforcer. But Eric, we were such a good team and you be an Alan

12:34Guzzi. And we the thing about it is we all knew our skillset and we're like, this is how we're gonna attack it. Like, Pearl, I'm gonna free you up to get your eight foot jump shot. And Alan's available from three feet. You know, the hardest one, the hardest one to guard out of all three of you was Alan because you would get so low when you would shoot that you would kind of just be like, what do I do with this? And then they just go. And it's only his half understanding of the role. Yes, it was worked out perfect. Yeah, yeah, because the official is not gonna call him. Remember, we had the real official. Yeah, we're gonna. Yeah, so that guy had been paid off by someone. I don't know who, but people are tired of him. People can complain to me about your picks. They're like, there's no way he's not moving on that pick. I'm like, no, that's just his pick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we went to the tree. Yeah. And then, but obviously, I think I won the MVP, but there was clearly the most disappointing guy who didn't show up. Maria. No, Marvin. Marvin. Where was Marvin? He was drafted number two. Yeah, yeah, I was taking the last, I think I led the league in

13:34steals. We're gonna have to build another studio just to break down the A.A. 2019. Tell it, I'd like to see that. I led the league in stealing. Whoever was keeping, whoever was scoring had me as the league leader in steals. Wait, if we do like a league, does it, is it gonna be basketball? Could it be football? Could it be with football? Do you think it could be basketball? I could do pickleball too. I don't know if he'd want that. Yeah, football. I feel good to come on. I could never take you in basketball. Yeah, are we allowed to play with football in here with all these new lights and cameras? That's probably a good point. We haven't played with football in about two years. So Eric, you ruined our baseball diamonds. You're welcome. Whatever. You don't want us to do any sports after the show. Yeah, I haven't played pickleball in about four months. It's fine. Yeah, it is a little funny. So that's a fast as 12 to one. And then I sort of see guys hanging around with the pickleball rack. It's wondering. I'm filing a motion to change this to the 115 club.

14:35I think we're already branded too much on 1250. We have to throw out all that merch. I forgot Dan talked about on the show today that there was that rule that the I made it up. I remember you made that up. Yeah, because it was like everyone was eating what would happen with people like Tyler. As soon as the segment would come out like a cockroach, that's our feed. And then if you can't tell Tyler's one at the ones and twos there. And so then we had to make a rule. So there was because what would happen is he would eat so much. So then then there was no food left for the talent. So like if whatever you were busy, you took like a tiny plate. Like, oh, don't worry. I'll go back in 10 minutes and have some more food. There's nothing left. And Tyler's just sitting there like, that was yummy. How guys? I was on Tyler's suicide system. It wasn't actually all time. You got to keep it 12 15 just so we can keep telling that story. That's why he wants to change it to 150.

15:38So Andrew, what's the elevator pitch of the show? Oh, okay. Two old friends arguing about sports, but not in a vehemently angry way. So Paul and I have a lot of different takes. You guys know Paul's stick pretty well at this point. You know, small college football. He doesn't try and be smarter than everyone. I am going to be trying smarter than everyone. I'm going against a grain not so fast. So I have three hours. What you're doing in the day of Patrick's show to think of every contrarian angle possible. And I will share the fate of everything. So it's going to be, you know, it's the opposite of embrace debate. It's going to be debate where we go at each other, but we keep it really friendly. And it's going to be really fun. There's going to be a ton of action from the Dan Patrick show and anything that, you know, the fun and the chemistry and the energy from the DP show. We want that to sort of translate to Paul and I, but also we're going to just like take elements with the DP show and bring it here. So it's really, it's the DNA of the Dan Patrick show. Auditone and it's going to be really fun. Yeah, a lot of friends, a lot of friends on the show too,

16:42who can be interview subjects. What year did you leave DP? Right before the ramps of the bangles playing the Super Bowl, right? What year was it? 2022. Yeah. And in 2021, I walked out right there right over there. Right from that door. Yeah. What have you been up to since? Oh, I don't know. It's been hanging out. No. So I left to do the Magging Pearl Show and CBS Sports Radio in New York City for four years and then they ended the show in the entire network. We killed not just a show. We killed the whole network. We're getting out of the entire networks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and there was a, you guys didn't follow this, but the only interesting controversy about the network was they actually made us change the name away from CBS Sports Radio at the end. To infinity sports radio. Wow. Yeah, Eric, do you even know this story? I know from the trades, but I don't know the answer. Yeah. Well, basically, we do sports minutes and somebody did a sports minute where they basically

17:43said something they referred to a college basketball player as a, they wanted to see the big Brazilian woman play. Do you guys remember this? And don't say, South Carolina? Yeah, don't say, he took exception to that line. Yeah. And she called the head of CBS and said, what's going on here? And at that point, they decided, hey, we're not going to call it CBS Sports Radio anymore. We could have called infinity sports radio. That was pretty controversial. But anyway, so I was doing a radio show and I gotta tell you, I was gone, but I feel like, in many ways, I was not gone because people were talking to me about the damn Patrick show literally every day. And I would listen. And, you know, I would do my show, then I would drive home and go to the gym and I'd listen to the show. So I was really engaged. I listened to it on podcasts actually. Okay. I was really engaged with the show and everybody was texting me all the time. So I was gone, but it wasn't like the cleanest break ever to be totally honest. Yeah, which in a good way. Like, I think Dan wanted me to push, he wanted me to do my own thing for sure, but he always, he immediately welcomed me back. It's like, hey, you know,

18:47wishing you luck, you know, inviting me to Christmas parties. Like, Dan was pretty welcoming back the whole time, even when I was gone. I always felt very, I saw you guys as well, always felt incredibly welcomed. I was always in whatever you need. So yeah, that's what I've been doing. What was your perspective of the damn Patrick show as an outsider? Oh, you guys have no clue. I'm telling you right now. I don't, maybe Dan knows, but I don't think so. You don't know how popular an impact show is. You don't know how impactful it is. You don't know how people talk about what happens on a daily basis here, because you're up here in Connecticut. You just have no idea. I do. I had so many people come up to me and say, did you see what happened yesterday on the DP show? I had a show too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. But you sure see what Fritzy said. He made up a song about something. So it's talked a lot of, I think it's really hard to understand how the show sort of plays out in the real world. But I saw it a lot and it was totally awesome because people love the DP show. I think it's almost part of the charm. Yeah. Like if the show was done in New York City or in LA and you knew about the impact, I think that

19:52you would, like it would become more pressure. Yeah. Like because we're on this island and because it's just a bunch of, to your point, mostly 20-somethings in the back, putting on a show. It feels, it feels very casual. Yeah. And so as opposed to like if you were on a stage, like I think about when we do the shows in LA, like the feeling is so different on stage. Yeah. Even to remote sometimes feel more like official and there's like more pressure. Yeah. First is here. It's like not only is that the set, but then as soon as the show ends, I guess not one o'clock, people are hanging out on the simulator. Yeah. They're grabbing a beer at the bar. They're watching to be. And that would never happen on a stage. And so I think that that adds a lot to it. I'm curious, um, and Eric you talked to Dan. Like do you think Dan knows the, even at this point, I know Dan has been at the highest, I handed out the Super Ultra. He's been in front. Do you think he understands the impact outside? I'm not so sure all the time that so many people ask me about Dan all the time. I don't know, I know he knows, but I don't know if he knows knows. I think he gets feedback. Okay. One on one from, from people. Yeah. In the industry. Yeah, but that's the thing. Like

20:58he doesn't, it's not in the end, there's in the industry of course, but there's so many fans out there that you just, you really, you don't, you guys, we take callers, we get to, there's so many more fans that you don't know about. Yeah. Well, and that's what you see like when we're, it's four in the morning and you're showing up on set for Super Bowl. Yeah. And there's already 50 people. Yeah. Yeah. We're like, well, like when we were in, um, green day and we would show up at, I think it was 445. Yeah. It already closed the line off. There's already like 300 people. Only I had a hundred seats. Yeah. And, um, well, I'm like, this is wild. And then people like, oh, big German. Yeah. You know, everybody. If you, if you were like Jimmy Hendrix is back from the dead, you just have to be there at 445 in the morning. I'm not, you might be up though. I might, if I was up from the night before I'm showing up, but I think that's something that we, I think, and probably not take for granted is probably not the right word. Well, use it here, um, is how famous and how big Dan and show are. Yeah. I think when we go to Super Bowl, like we hang out with Dan, like, you know, outside of just being here, we golf with Dan, we'll get beers with Dan. And we forget how famous he is. People are coming up to him and they're, you know, asking for

22:03his autograph for pictures and stuff. Um, I remember the first time that I went to Super Bowl with him, we went to like a media radio row. Yeah. We went to do Cam Nuens podcast where he went. Um, and people he couldn't walk anywhere. He can't break Dan to radio. No, you shouldn't know that Mario. He couldn't walk anywhere. And the running joke for a couple of months after that was like, wow, you are famous, huh? Uh, cause you kind of forget it. You know, we're here in Milford, Connecticut. We're kind of been our own little bubbles. Yeah. Call it, um, but it's not just a Dan. I mean, the Danettes do. I mean, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I even like last week when we're on vacation, I was boarding the plane going back from Charleston. And I'm just like walking my seat and some guy just sticks his fist out for like a fist bump that is walking by. I was like, oh, hey, do you think, yeah, uh, Ray's ready for that level of fame now 11 to 12. I've actually been recognized once. And it was when I was a first year intern. I went to Jacksonville and the bartender was like, are you, are you Ray? He's like, what? He's like, oh, I love the show. And I was like, I'm not on the show. Now tell everyone I say hello, but we were at the Olympic club. Yeah. And uh, San Francisco.

23:07And we're walking by the driving range. And this guy's just staring at us. We're like, is it because like, I don't have a belt on him? I not dressed properly. You're shirts and tucks. And then he came back around and then he was like, I knew it was Dylan by just his voice. He doesn't, he watches on podcast or listens on podcasts. Yeah. It doesn't watch the show. And he heard Dylan's voice. So what a let down. He must have. He's like, that's what you look like. Yeah. We said, oh, s***. But it happened twice. We walked by and he's staring at us and we walk by again. We're like, what the f*** is this guy's problem? Yeah. We were about to fight him. And then later after we play, we're like getting beers in the club. That's he comes up. He's like, are you the D. P. Show guys? And we're like, yeah, he's like, I can tell by your voice. Oh my god. I know. I know. I also have to be like, what is your problem? Yeah. We're gonna fight this guy. I'm literally gonna fight this guy. I just heard the other day. Somebody said was the big German at Dodger Stadium. Uh, have we no idea what you're saying? Well, here's my way. I told you this, right? Yeah. Yeah. Like, I guess, yeah, you guys were out in LA. And someone said, I think I saw the big German. And by, and I don't know if you the bruh, nobody knows your name is Eric. You're your name is further away from your

24:11nickname. And anyone who's gonna have a harder time with a McLovin's name going or big German's name going. Oh, I think big. I think big, big love is going right. By the way, I was like, what, when the caller, Kay, uh, Buddha said, uh, uh, put your, uh, his, your reservation to make love it. I was like, that's confusing. Yeah. You just got to find out what restaurant is and then just snake the reservation. Oh, yeah. Well, anybody could be, I'm not McLovin. You know, people would send me to like his driver's license on that. But remember, do you remember when Christopher Mince Plaster's on the show? And he, he came on a couple of times. He always pooped. He's like, yeah, what? We're like, we have a McLovin. He's like, yeah, I heard something about that. I'm like, dude, yeah. I mean, he should be leaning into that. Like, yeah, I mean, he wants to evolve as an actor. He now has a band and stuff. Yeah. Well, I always get always kind of bothering me from a gear standpoint that I'd always be, even if I was the greatest ever, the second most famous McLovin. Yeah. Maybe the third one from, whoever wrote the song. It's an uphill battle. Yeah, we couldn't really, we couldn't necessarily

25:11brand it totally. Be a super bad, which is, yeah, be said, anybody who doesn't love super bad, like then you don't love movies. Have you met him? No, no, not really. No. I don't think we've ever had him in suit of no. I've seen Michael Sarah around a lot. He lives near me, but not McLovin. You could come to Michael Sarah and be like, hey, I'm McLovin. I always, I always use that time. Oh, you've one name. What are you? Seal. What do you think your involvement with DP show will be now moving forward? Well, it's funny. When we first started Eric, you were there and I'm like, Dan, I can do whatever you want to help with the show ideas, whatever it is more challenging logistically. I thought I forgot how hard it is to put together TV. There's a lot of work from nine to 12. I don't know. And I actually worry. Paul has been great at double. That is actually, I don't know to be honest. We got to get comfortable with not so fast. And then I can answer. But of course, anything, anything the show needs, but honestly, like today's show,

26:11I don't know. Where would I even jump in? There was so much going on. Yeah, I think that's a big distinction to make. Dan Patrick and Dan has talked about the slot. The Dan Patrick show is a TV show that we follow. It's a radio show that we follow on TV. Not so fast as a television show. It's going to get distributed on podcasts as well, but it is primarily focused on being a television show. So we need to have video elements, graphics. Everything is extremely planned out and timed out. So yeah, and you're the director. I am the director. Tyler, who's had more perfect shows? You or any one of us have we done? I would maybe amount of perfect. We've done a lot of show. I feel like we've done a lot of rehearsals. No, it's kind of funny. The always been an adjustment looking at the right camera. That has been, oh my god, it's so funny. The other day I found myself, I'm like, why am I looking at the back wall? I think that should be a running bit where Perloff looks at the wrong camera. 27:16Shep Shepherd and way back in like 2000 or something. And I thought that you were supposed to constantly turn to the camera. I didn't realize the camera was returning to you. So I'm doing a segment on the NBA or something and I'm looking around, I'm going from camera to camera and you could tell people like, what the heck is this guy doing? Can you imagine that? Because when you watch TV, the head moves all the time. So I thought that the talent was going from camera to camera. I didn't realize the camera was going into the first. If you watch the nightly news, it's like all of a sudden these shifts over here. How did you get into sports media entertainment? Because you're a Dartmouth graduate. Yeah. I was this close to going to law school, this close. And I written for the school paper in college. And a friend of mine was starting up a sports website. And he's like, well, we have a copy editor job. It doesn't pay anything. And I know you're going to law school. I'm like, goodbye law school. Hello, sports. And then I worked for the NFL and kicked around sports ill straight. And I met Dan through sports ill straight. Okay. Eric. Well, you worked for the league. Oh, yeah. I know that for the field. Yeah, full-time

28:18freelance. I produced, wrote and produced a show called before. NFL Network came. It was a member Sunday ticket with show all the games. You guys might be a little too. Yeah. And there was a pre-game post-game halftime show with Spencer Tillman was my analyst. And we would break down all the games that I would write the show for. So I worked the NFL. I had an office at 245 Park, their old office. And then we did like programming all week long. Yeah. And I would sit at the table at the cafeteria with Paul Taglibu, Gidell. I was around all those guys. Who do you like better? I like Taglibu a lot better, I mean, geez. Gidell, ever going to come on the day of Patrick Chishol? Doesn't sound like it. I mean, we should tell Dan, you can retire when Roger Gidell comes on. I don't think he wants him at this point. You guys should book him on not so fast. You have the end. You've got the end. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't have any. This is before the NFL became evil. No, I didn't. No, it was just kind of small. This was like 2003, 2004. And then the NFL just came a long way since then. Yeah, it's got much more, much bigger.

29:22Yeah. So if there's someone watching that are listening that is like, oh, should I tune in on Monday or not, what do you have to say to him? Well, I say if you want to see Pearl off look at the wrong camera. Look in your camera. Yeah, camera six right here. If you do have to, you got to just want red though. Yeah, red is good. 30:26You haven't heard past and Pearl off break him down as only we can. And it's going to be a lot of fun. And there should be some laughs. I love it. And Mario's like, oh, no, it's still think about six hours of manpower to do that. And as I was like, oh, yeah, you have to light and shoot things. That's a really annoying side thing about this. That is part of the business that gets over undersold. Eric, do you laugh when me or Paul says, hey, can we do this the next day? I try not to, but sometimes I'm like, all right, what are we doing here? Yeah, yeah. Okay. So here's what we're going to do. We're going to pause going to run out the field house and throw a football. And then I'm going to be not. It's been a learning process. Yeah, the technical side. That's one thing I forgot. Because I was purely radio the last four years. The TV side is a big deal. There's a lot going on.
