Today, we're running and gunning. This is in through the outdoors and I'm your guide, Chase and Walter. That's what we call a focused hunt for fish. Go find them, don't wait for them to come to you. It could be any fish, it could be walleye perch, croppy, anything you want to focus on. When you're running and gunning, you're drilling a million holes, realistically, 50-75 holes if you're doing it right, unless you get lucky and set down on top of fish, and you don't have to move too much. Croppy will send you chasing. If you can find a school of croppy trying to stay on top of them, it's pretty tricky. I've never had the opportunity to do it myself, but those boys from Croppy Chronicles are chasing croppy all over. It was extremely cold and there was nothing more comfy and cozy than an ice shanty or a wheelhouse if you would rather call it that, but it warmed up dramatically. The snow melted and there was water all over the ice, but it was still good ice. Remember, it's never 100% safe, but good enough to either walk on or drive an ATV or UTV and drill 50 holes. Watch shallow, move deep or vice versa, stick a camera or forward facing sonar below the

hole and you might find a few rocks that hold fish. You might find flooded timber that certainly holds fish and you might even find an old weed bed that is still holding fish. If that weed bed is completely dead, fish won't come near it. They want oxygen. They want a place to hide and they want warmer water. This running and gunning thing is a ton of fun when temperatures are above 30 degrees. Holes don't freeze up, you don't have problems freezing line, and you don't have a problem with lithium ice augers either. I have a 24 volt lithium strike master and it burns through batteries quickly on a cold day. There's one thing about running and gunning that I love. A six gallon bucket makes a perfect seat. I'm Chase and Walter and that's in through the outdoors. Buy more Chase and Walter.com, be safe and thanks for listening.
