We've talked on this program about how technology is a double-edged sword. It tends to benefit humanity initially but then later co-ops the technology for nefarious or authoritarian reasons. I'm not exactly sure how this can be stopped but it seems it's always something that has to be considered. Maybe it's another thing we wouldn't have to worry about if we didn't have fiat/dishonest money. Remember, the state can control vast portions of the economy by demanding resources with fiat money, effectively getting these resources at huge discounts due to inflation. Today we critique a presentation on the "digital prison" brought to you by the existence of facial recognition, social credit scoring, and central bank digital currency. Today all of this is voluntary, but once they connect the money to it, we could see a dramatic shift to coercion.
