And then we meet a 12 year old boy who lives in the basement of a house, not because he's a prisoner, but because he loves it down there. It's his bedroom, his home away from home. But it's inside his home. Everything's great as a super Nintendo hooked up what more could a boy want? How about a basement that's not tormented by a terrifying phantom? Today on Dead Rapper Radio. Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Dead Rapper Radio. I'm your host, Jason Carpenter. I'm having a great day. I hope you guys are having a great day too. I hope you guys are having tons of fun. Doing whatever you're doing, we have a ton of stuff to cover today. So first off, running into Dead Rapper Radio command. Everyone get on your feet and give it up for Steve M in D. Woohoo. Yeah, we he's running on into Dead Rapper Radio command and he's jamming out.

He has a boom box play and he's ready to play us a song. But Steve, go ahead and put that boom box down for now. I'll explain a bunch of stuff actually. I have to make some other stuff first. You should boom box off. It's distracting. But it is a good song. We'll get to that in a second. Before we get started, I want to make a couple announcements real quick. Actually, one announcement. This week's going to be a short week. I'm having my tooth extracted in a couple days and I probably won't be recording on that day or the day after. I'll be recovering because I'm a big old baby. And yeah, so we're really going to have two episodes and I'm actually recording them early. This episode I'm recording and then I'm going to interrupt it. I'm going to go halfway through the recording. I'm going to go playing a Magic the Gathering teenage miniature turtles event here in town. I'm super excited about that. I love Magic the Gathering. I love Ninja Turtles. Yeah, so we'll only have two episodes this week and then the bonus episode that I said was going to come out last week. I didn't get around editing. I'll have it release

this week. Sorry about that. It's just been crazy, right? A bunch of stuff that's going on. I am going to go see that movie Iron Long tomorrow. I'm really excited about that. And then I'm getting my tooth taken out. But anyway, so yeah, just two episodes this week and then we'll just keep going forward. Steve MND gave this show a gift. One that I thought I would never receive. Something I mentioned last week. I called it my great white whale, something that it escaped my grasp. And I was always going to regret that. Well, I only regretted it for about two days because Steve MND came in clutch. And that is why he's going to be our captain or pilot this episode. If you guys can't give me one of a kind gifts, that's fine. It really is. If you guys can't swear the picture on the merch store, it's totally fine. Just helps to read the word about dead rabbit radio that helps out so much. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone, you know? Dead rabbit radio is your favorite paranormal show. That is how you can help the show grow. So Steve MND, he walked in playing this boombox. And it's a tune you've never heard before.

I mean, I guess, yes, calling it music might be a little generous. It has a guitar. It has a rhythm kind of. And they're singing. I mean, in the bare essence, if you put this under a microscope, it would be considered a song. But is it really? Is it really so? Steve MND, let's go ahead and get this party started. I'm going to go ahead and toss you the... I'm going to go ahead and toss you the hair hang lighter. Everyone grab onto Steve's ankles as he runs and jumps off the high point of dead rabbit. Okay. As he runs and jumps off the high point of dead rabbit radio command all the way out to Tennessee. Steve flies us all the way out to Tennessee. Specifically, we're headed to Cookville, Tennessee. That's the city of residents of one max Kramer. Now he's very open about his address. He's very open about the city he lives in. We're not doxing him. All of his advertising and everything shows this.

We've covered him in the past. He started off as a homeless video game designer. He figured that's the ending for most people's lives. But you got to give him credit. He doesn't give up. Homeless video game designer who's also the founder of his own sorority. And we found it. We've been covering this guy for years. We found out about him because of a listener named Uggs. Sent us a link to one of his old websites called Immortal Jewish Car Machine. He has this theory that he's one of the only few people. Real people in the world, the rest of us are Sims or simulations or NPCs. That's nothing really compared to his flagship idea as far as we're concerned. And that's the idea that when we first covered him on the show on his website, he talked about wanting to wear dad's skin. It doesn't make sense. I know, man. I know he wanted to make a suit out of dad's flesh.

My dad, your dad, anyone's dad didn't really matter. And would assume their identity. This suit would be so lifelike that you would think it was your own father. And the bank would think it was the dad too. He was talking about like being able to write all these unlimited checks and being able to do all this stuff because he's no longer a Max Kramer. He is this dad. This man, this man clad in dad's skin assumes the dad identity. And that's fine. Whatever. It's the ranteens of a homeless video game developer. But then he also made a mention to, and you know, if I looked like a dad and people actually thought I was this dad, I could go home and have fun with the kids in the most polite way I'm putting it. I mean, he was, he was insinuating. He was going to do some pretty disgusting stuff to the family wearing the dad's skin. It'd be bad enough if he was just doing it in his normal skin, but they actually are supposed to think it's their dad doing this stuff.

You're like, that's not funny. No, I know it gets super disturbing, super fast. So yeah, that's how we covered him on the first time we talked about Max Kramer. The dad shaped Superville and was the name of the episode. I mean, that's just the tip of the iceberg. He's also, I think he's changed his name too to micro-wavio. Because I see a lot of his new documents. He says that micro-wavio doesn't allow people to visit his house. And like, okay, okay, but you have a vending machine there. Your house is a vending machine. So I don't know how this was workout. And then he just kind of, he has a van that he drives around town. It's a SIM crime on it. He's kind of one of those schizophrens is what they're called so. So I was just, you know, a little extra tidbits of Max Kramer lore. As if you needed any more. As if you need your like, oh, you know, it seems like a pretty reasonable guy. Wait, what? He painted on his car. Oh, that bad man. Currently, he is doing one of two businesses. He has a vending machine in his house.

His house is the vending machine. He has a cardboard cut out thing on this doorway that you put your hand through this hole in the hole in the door. When you talk about tempting fate, right? But imagine it's basically a glory hole in a way you put in an appendage of your body and a fluid comes out. I'm disgusting. I mean, I guess you're right. I guess you're right. As you go to this hole in his door and you can buy gauntlets, which is this drink that was made by a former homeless video game designer. He's not homeless anymore because obviously he lives in a vending machine now. I'll put all the passive episodes in the show notes. It's more craziness than I can cover. We're not at his house, though. Steve kept flying us around Cookville, Tennessee till we ended up at a recording studio. We walk into this recording studio and I go, Hey, what are we doing here?

And Steve him and he goes, Hey, remember that last episode you did about Max Kramer where you said that he recorded a song and you saw there was a link on one of his old websites that's no longer there. We go through the way back machine and I go, Yeah, yeah. And I tried finding the song and I could never get it to play. Well, it was either because it wanted to things either the way back machine doesn't archive songs or the website was so broken that the song played, but only on one archived page. And Steve found that page. Ladies and gentlemen, we have Max Kramer's song. Unfortunately, something we've learned about Max Kramer very recently. We had a tip from I can't say who it is. I can't say how we got the tip was email, but I got a tip from someone we will call her Jessica. Well, that'll be a fake name Jessica Apple bottom will be her alias.

She told me, Hey, listen, I found your Max Kramer episode is pretty funny. She said that, but she goes, Listen to your Max Kramer episode. Did you know he's been involved in several high profile lawsuits? And I did not know that and I started looking and sure enough, he sued a bunch of people. I would have loved to play Max Kramer's song for you, but unfortunately he 100% would sue me. Right. I think the only reason why he hasn't sued me yet was because I don't have hundreds of millions of dollars. All of his lawsuits involve millions of dollars, but technically it's copyrighted by him. I can't play it legally. But I can tell you, but I can tell you about it because it's very simple. Despite the fact that it's four minutes long, it has maybe eight words in the whole song. And I will provide a link in the show notes so you can listen to it yourself. Now we've never heard Max Kramer's voice before. This was such a big get. Honestly, Steve, that's why you are the captain of the pilot.

I never thought I'd be able to hear this song. So really doing the Lord's work. You're doing the Lord's work. This is fantastic. I love it so much. You're flying us around. You're a pilot today. I never thought I'd hear this. So I played it and let me tell you what it is. It starts off and I don't have a problem with low budget stuff, obviously, but it starts off by like this voice goes. This is an audio box remix production. Something like that. And I don't think it's because he got a producer. It's not like Scott Scorch is calling his name out at the beginning of the song. No, I think he's using a free service. And again, you know, like listen, I do that. I use free stuff all the time. But I think he's using like a free service that probably requires them to have an audio watermark at the beginning. But anyways. And then you hear a guitar. And you can only picture Max Kramer himself sitting there with a guitar. And all emulated as best as I can. This is the problem, Max.

I would have loved to play the song. It would have gotten a ton of exposure. But you'll assume me. So this is my interpolation. Is that like a musical term? This is the guitar. Dun-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un. No, actually, that sounds a two professional. Let me do that again. Dun-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un. Dun-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un. You're like... Are you messing up? Are you trying to do multiple takes? Nope. That's pretty much the rhythm. If you want to call it that. He's playing a guitar, and then he'll stop. Because he either messes up allegedly, right? He's pretty soon happy. He's like, I didn't mess up! I'm suing you for $100 million. He's playing... You know how someone's playing the guitar, and they stop abruptly. abruptly. Imagine that for four minutes. That's the rhythm of the song. You can hear it just stop. Maybe he dropped his pick. Maybe an order came and he had to get up and go to the Vinlin machine. Grab it two dollars and give someone a gauntlet and they come back pick it up.

Anyways, that goes on and on. That's four about four and a half minutes. Gauntlets have to do a quick review of the drink because it won't make sense. The song won't make sense if you don't know this. He began to home. Homebrew a beverage called gauntlets. That was, uh, it had just random ingredients. Remember when you were a kid and we used to just put random stuff in cups and try to create a new concoction. Hey, we're going to make cherry, coke, kool-aid, milk. You know, you just throw stuff in a jar. He's selling that. He's obviously not eight, right? We all do that when we were eight. Also we might have ideas of selling that at a little stand on the side of the road, but we never did. Never did. Milk and cocoa sound like the grossest combination, but we did it because we're experimenters. We did it because we're curious. He's made this drink. It's mud water brown and the ingredients are like water and I think sugar and there's a grape

in cranberry in there. Flown around, just floating around. He even has another version of the gauntlet drink that's hallucinogenic and you know it's hallucinogenic because he wrote on the label with the ballpoint pin hallucinogenic. That has that type of marijuana or THC that Delta Ome seven or whatever it is. The one that Congress is racing to make illegal. He has it in his drink. So anyway, he has these gauntlets drinks now in Tennessee. We found out you can homebrew beverages, but you can only sell them locally. You can't like open a distribution center if you're making it in your kitchen. You have to sell them individually. Now you can take credit cards apparently. You can take credit card orders to buy these online. He was trying to get them sold in stores or you could go to his Vinnie machine or you could go to his website by gauntlets.com or something like that. It might have even been sell gauntlets.com, which would be more confusing because who am I selling him if I go to sell gauntlets.com? Am I the one selling him? Am I the one buying him? I just need to visit the glory hole and find out for myself. He tried to take online credit card processing through

Stripe. This is how we found out about the story. He tried to take credit card processing via Stripe, which is an internet credit card processing service that he says should have come when he purchased the domain. That may be true. And Stripe would not do his payments. They probably saw what he was selling. They probably didn't want to be co-definited in some sort of bioterrorism scheme. I don't know why Stripe wouldn't allow him to take online payment, but they wouldn't. That's how we found out about it because he had to sue them. He was unable to take internet orders. So he sued Stripe for that fact and then we found out about his website. So now you have all that background. What type of song would Max Kramer record about his energy drinks? I always use energy drinks, but he actually referred to it as a syrup and a powder at the same time as well as a water purification system. But what about all of that would you write a song about and post it at the top of all of your web pages, not all of them work, but

all of your web pages. Drink, gauntlets, homemade in his kitchen, or maybe his bathtub. I'm not for sure. Buy it from a glory hole. Grape. Which of those elements would you write the song about that you're going to sit down, write it, and then record it, and then produce it. You produce it with this free program. There's a lot of free programs you could use, buddy. But again, that's nitpicking. Which of those elements are you going to do your song about? Well, I'll put the song in the show notes. I'll tell you basically what it is. He is playing the guitar. I can't play the guitar at all just to be fair. He's playing the guitar and the lyrics are this. Nobody is saying hi to me since they took my credit card machine. It's not selling, and I'm selling a product at all, at all. He's complaining that Stripe won't allow him to do internet orders. Now, here's the thing. Right? Here's the thing. Imagine you didn't know that.

I mean, this is the whole thing about Max Kramer. So much of his story just causes you to pause and go, wait, huh? Wait, what? He doesn't make any sense. Yeah, here's the thing. You go, Jason, where you disappointed that it wasn't like a jingle talking about how great gauntlets were. No, I was not disappointed at all. If anything, it was more insane than I possibly could have imagined. It has nothing to do with gauntlets. He repeats that phrase once every minute. As this guitar plane goes on, or I should say goes on and off in the background. And then the song just kind of ends. That's it. It has nothing to do with the beverage. It has nothing to do with how good it is. He's running away. He's like, he's all drinking. He's all yummy, yummy. Yeah, again, in the background, it's about how no, and that doesn't even really make sense. You know, one's talking to one because he can't take credit cards. I mean, buddy, I don't think anyone was going to the website to begin with whether or not you had Stripe

or was sponsored by American Express. How many hits were you actually getting? But nobody wants to talk to me since I lost my credit card machine. Four minutes of that over and over and over again. So that's better than I could have ever hoped for, really, honestly. And I'll put it in the show notes. You can listen to the song for yourself. But let's talk about two of these lawsuits he's been in recently. And then we'll get into our next story as well, which is pretty creepy ghost story. So I told, this is Jason from the future here, the near future, I guess. I told you I was going to stop recording in the middle of the episode to go to my local Magic the Gathering Teenagement Ninja Turtle event. I got like the pre-release kit, right? You buy the pre-release and it's like sealed. You open up the packs. You build the deck right there. You have like an hour to do it. I bought a bunch of play boosters. And you're like, Jason, why do you sound so sad? Did you lose? Nobody showed up. That was the only guy who showed up. I am pretty bummed. I only get to play

Magic like once every couple months, right? I don't have any friends who play Magic and I don't play the video game version. I just wanted to play Ninja Turtles. Nobody showed up. I just standing there. When I walked in, they know me. They go, hey, dude, no one else. Anyway, so, but that being said, I'm going to turn my own tragedy into treasure. Maybe not my treasure. I'm going to turn my own tragedy into something, a gift. A gift. Because I came home and I was kind of open, right? Came home. I have like $200 worth of unopened Ninja Turtle stuff because I bought more. I bought like a booster box and all this other stuff. You know, I'll enjoy it. I enjoy collecting them too. Taking them out inventory and them and all that stuff. But anyways, I was bummed and I sat down and I thought, okay, so you know, we can't play Max Kramer's song. I can only describe it and give you a link. Just legally, he does legally have a copyright on his

song. So then I thought, you know what? I'm going to record him a theme song. I'm going to record him a theme song. I will, you know what, that's how, what's the word magnimonious I am. I don't get to play Ninja Turtles, but Max, I will make you this song and you know what? If you want to use this song to promote gauntlets, you can. Just write me a letter. So I know it's you. I include various rambulines and drawings on it. So I definitely know it's you. And then you can use this song to sell your gauntlets because here's the thing. Your song just talks about how you can't take credit cards. And I go, oh, come on, man, we can do a better song than that. We got the technology. So here we go. The dead rapper radio presents a theme song for the product gauntlets. Don't write. I'm not going to go off on these weird tangents, but I'm not going to talk about stuff that has no relation to gauntlet, the drink, no talking about credit card machines. Oh, okay. Maybe once or twice, but other than that, we're

going to focus, Max. We're going to focus on the gauntlets. This beat was produced by my good friend and producer, a simple. He's like, don't bring me into this, buddy. Don't bring me into this. But I got to give you credit. Again, I got to give you credit. But here we go. He's like, he could have used any name. Well, you and I could have, I could have done a lot of things. I could have had multiple people show up to my magic, the gathering, Ninja Turtle event, but no one did simple. Oh, you are also dragged into that as well. He goes, what? I don't even play that nerdy game. So here we go with the sick beat from my good friend, Simple. I wrote this this afternoon. As I was crying over my Ninja Turtle game, it matched the gathering competition. Anyways, while I was crying, Max, I wrote you a song, a focused song, a genuine song for you about gauntlets. Here we go. Yo, what's up? It's DJ MK Max Kramer in the house. My mama always gave me the best advice.

She told me to follow my dreams and make free demo production. And to make that please, you gotta make that brown instead of the trial version. You gotta make the gauntlets. You have a taxer already in the house. By gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. By gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. By gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. My name is Max and I'm having a kink. I get off making drinks and my own kitchen sink and you can buy one. A million bottles of more but you can't buy him and the store will come to my front door and stick your arm and the slot art comes flew with ease. It's like a gory hole. You're gonna get it disease. Gauntlet's on my passion. It's my life and dream. I'm getting high off that Delta 9 THC. Sitting here relaxing, sipping on the juice. I'm really hoping that your death skin comes loose. I'm into that. Ripping the skin off then come here sexy baby let the games begin. Off topic. I blame it on the gauntlets. So come and take a drink of this brown water tonic. It tastes like it looks and it looks like it tastes so if you want some diarrhea just come

into my place that I mentioned. I want to rip off your flesh make a vest if you're chest make a mess of the rest where your face meets your family. It's a hell of a time. Call me Microwaveo aka syndrome that I mentioned. I want to rip off your flesh make a vest of your chest make a mess of the rest where your face meets your family. It's a hell of a time. Call me where goal. Cause I'm dropping these rhymes by gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. Buy gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. Buy gauntlets. But you can't buy him online. This is bit of mega mix retrial production. Please use the pro version. You're like okay that listen man you expected to hear that as much as I expected to make that and ever thought at any point for now or even while I was recording this episode I would drop a max-cramer rap but here we are this unexpected territory for all of us you also go Jason you said

that uh you're gonna spend hours hours making that are you you did you because I mean it was okay but you didn't spend that long doing it no actually I originally envisioned myself like as I was like I'm gonna do a song I was like I was gonna take a while I figured I go listen man I'm gonna put exactly as much time into making that song as I assume max-cramer spent making his song which was next to nothing so I dropped a couple bars did a couple takes and hopefully it sounds decent but yeah I didn't expect to make it you didn't expect to hear it I had a whole other segment is supposed to talk about his lawsuits we'll save that for a future episode max-cramer month continues because I mean just the craziness begins and I'll tell you there won't be any rap songs don't don't ask me to make more max-cramer related rap music um I could but I mean I guess if I had to right I guess this becomes a rap battle between him and I

then uh that that is how this ends up but there'd be dope dude if he dropped bars after that right if he heard that episode was like you know what and I'm gonna take this dude and puts his hat on backwards it's actually pay money I would pay money to see him do that I'd pay five hundred thousand dollars to watch him rap battle me if I had a hundred million to begin with Steve M&D I'm gonna go ahead and touch the keys the world famous carpenter coctor that wasn't even really a story that's been 20 minutes talking about his song he recorded that I can't play for you but it will be in the show notes you can check it out dropped a there wasn't even a diss track basically quoting stuff he's talked about on his websites and I did make a couple diarrhea jokes but uh yeah I mean that's that segment that's the segment I got no control over and I guess I do but uh that's the way that everything rolled out Steve M&D I'm gonna touch the keys of the world famous carpenter coctor we're leaving behind the recording studio will it be used

again probably not any time soon but we're leaving behind the recording studio why don't you fly us all the way out to a house in the suburbs we're flying all the way out to this house in the suburbs and we're going back in time but not not a long time ago right during my lifetime maybe your lifetime we're headed back to the 1990s we're about to meet a young boy but don't have his real name we'll call him Tony and he grew up in a townhome in this suburban neighborhood he's 12 at the time that this story takes place the climax of the story but he this wasn't the first year he moved in he lived in quite a few years before this event the way everything played out Tony had some siblings Tony had some siblings and I don't know if he was because of the oldest I don't know if it's because he was the only boy I don't know if he was just the luckiest kid in the family but he was gifted the right

to live in the basement you go Jason you're always constantly talking about how spooky basements are actually in Montereque for saying that's the spookiest part of any house and I don't understand why houses have basements in the first place and those both of those things are true I don't understand the purpose of a basement outside of you know putting boilers and heaters and and then like your mobs and your storage stuff it's a storage area right it's not you don't need a root cellar you don't have root abegas sitting on shelves you go down there eat a couple and come back upstairs that's what they're for right you stored vegetables and root sellers like they actually grew them you go down there you see roots growing everywhere you're like oh my house my house is growing quite nicely it was a mushroom and now it is a home now I think it's where you like stored beats during like cold at times you lived in Wisconsin or Michigan or Kansas or whatever you needed a place to store all your roots so you took them down I mean originally you just sat

on a big pile of originally you just sat on a big pile of beats because you didn't know where to put them and then somebody goes wait a second isn't underground colder than this house I'm gonna build a big underground thing under my house this the first time it didn't work the house collapsed in on the guy but over time they perfected the root seller they would dig these big pits and that's where you'd put all your rooty vegetables potatoes and radishes carrots probably as well like you come you're all like I'm so hungry I can't wait to eat some roots to come down there's just the 300 pound gofer sitting there rubbing his tummy you're like ah but um no I mean that I don't know much about the history of basements probably should research it probably should stop trying to drop bars on people who have a tenuous grasp of reality to say the least oh what rhymes with reality yeah yeah yeah I think before there were basements there were root sellers would be my guess and they were just like dirty big dirty rectangular holes underneath your house

and then you go down the stairs and go hey honey what are we eating tonight uh roots roots again okay I guess and then you go downstairs and you pick some you don't pick them they're just laying on the shelf they're just rolling around the dirt is you're like I need to install a light bulb down here I need to invent a light bulb so I know what to find you're kicking over piles of potatoes I think that's where you kept your root vegetables cold so they didn't go bad I don't know why basements exist but basements are spooky basements are spooky evident in several places with basements I don't like them but see that's the thing where Tony was that yeah technically was the basement because it was under the house but it was a basement that was converted into a living space before they even moved in so it had an office it had a large living area it was well lit it was nice wood walls wood floor assuming but I guess there's probably carpet put down probably I don't know

he didn't detail that I just I don't hardwoods cool you know I just need to get to the story the evolution of hardwood I don't know who invented it I'm sure first they tried softwood anyways the point is that his basement wasn't spooky and even Tony is a 12 year old boy was like no it was totally awesome there's a totally awesome space he goes there was an office area in there he said he had this big living area he got your bed he probably had a little couch he had a television set he had his super Nintendo hooked up ready to go pilot wings super Mario brothers street fighter two all the games and he said the way that it was designed one wall was pretty much just sliding glass doors not sliding glass that's the rocket so you know like sometimes closets the door will be on rollers he said it was a series of that they were all mirrored but it was a series of sliding doors that had closet space back there really nice

fancy basement might had a boiler down there as well but the most part it was a done up as a living area and even a working area for the previous resident if he needed to use the office down there or whatever he said it was a really chill place it was his room and he never felt worried about something hiding in the darkness probably was pretty well lit never worried about the boogie man being down there never feared being separated from the rest of the family totally fine never got a creepy feeling out of this place ever now to set the stage a little bit here in this town home the way this neighborhood was designed was the town home and you know other houses in the neighborhood behind them was a golf course an active golf course people would use it yeah it was an active golf course and also at the golf course was a lake well one year

what had happened at this home the foundation of the house cracked they really know it at first I don't know if you feel it when it happens or if it just happens every time but the foundation of the house cracks and because of this what happens is some of the lake water seeps in through the foundation of the home nothing big right I mean foundation cracking is not optimal obviously but even the water damage was fairly mild you said what happened was we obviously had some carpet damage you know the carpet was damp you walking down to play two planes you're gonna tell you're like oh no blocking special move it's real your skeleton is visible for just a brief second he says the carpet was damp and we had an issue with mold for a while some mold but it wasn't like a huge we got to write the house off we got to move away type of thing it wasn't even a you can

never live down there again Tony you got to join the rest of us upstairsers no you know they took care of it they took care of the carpet they took care of the mold but they did have this leakage of lake water this one year the foundation crack and the reason why that's notable is he doesn't really I think a lot of this is him looking back on these events it didn't really clue in at the time but because he obviously you know this story takes place 30 years ago he said um looking back one of the things that I can kind of start to realize was and again he didn't tie it in at the time but for the first time of Tony living in the basement it began to feel creepy he never had any problems with the basement before but he this place that he loves this place that he just goes down and hang out by himself it felt different now and looking back he can go

is it all started when the foundation cracked and the water got into my room my bedroom he said that it was quote like when you enter a room and someone is angry with you you can feel it in the air it's that vibe unquote but there's no one there he'd be in there down by himself and he'd feel unsettled he said a lot of times it felt like someone was watching him while he was the only one there never had this happened before this year it starts and because it's brand new he really just tries to ignore it it was the first time he was in the basement second time third time like early on probably wouldn't have lived down there but you've been down there for a couple of years at this point so he tries to ignore it I just my it might just be my imagination maybe this is what they mean when they talk about puberty maybe everyone

who goes to be pretty becomes deeply unsettled by the environment around them he goes they just try to ignore it but it persisted this feeling like I wasn't wanted there this feeling like I was being watched the creepiness of it all it just wouldn't go away and one day Tony is sitting there downstairs and he's playing super Nintendo like he has so many times before he's sitting there playing his games and all of a sudden he hears a bam bam bam bam bam bam bam he recognizes the sound even though he'd probably never heard it before it's one of those things this is an odd way to put it but I can almost guarantee that you could place the sound as well if you've ever been in a situation like this I used to have places I've lived places that have sliding doors for closets and because of all the noise they make when you're opening and closing them

if someone was on the other side of that closet door banging on it I would instantly be able to tell that's what it is it's not someone banging on the wall it's not someone banging on a conventional door it's not someone banging from underneath the bed because there's a particular rattle a particular sound that those doors make I've never been in a position where someone's been banging on a sliding closet door on those rollers but I 100% if I was sitting in that room and that noise started up without turning around I would know exactly what it was and Tony is doing the same thing but he's the only one down there there's someone in his closet banging on the door the banging continues but I mean it doesn't even though you would unmistakably recognize that sound the banging's continuing Tony turns around to look at the door one of these mini sliding glass doors there or sliding

mirror doors he turns and he looks and you know you're hearing the sound do you think well is it the wind rattling it is it something I know it's making the noise but how he turns and he looks in one of these sliding closet doors he's seeing it visibly shake so it's not the wind which is probably a bad guess just because you're in a basement it's not the wind it's not you're imagining or it is a sound from upstairs and you've misplaced it now he's seeing the sliding door shake as if someone is in the closet banging on the door he says it's more than just that someone's on the other side of the door he said it was like someone was trapped in there

not just someone pulling a prank or something like that he said it sounded like someone was trapped in there he goes so much so that I mean like he's sitting there he's frozen in fear he's the only one down there he started having these feelings like something was wrong and now he's watching the closet door violently shake as someone's banging on it and he said he's sitting there and he's watching it for a full minute and the banging grows louder and in his words more desperate as if someone really is trapped in there and they're running out of options they're getting panicked moving from oh I'm frustrated I'm trapped in a closet all the way to oh my god I can't get out I can't get out the banging is louder the door is shaking more violently as if whoever is

in there is getting more desperate to get out and he is just eyes locked on this closet door he's not thinking oh you know it's just my imagination or something like that this is what the beauty is full on hallucinations he didn't turn back to start playing his video games he goes I'm staring they're looking at the door at this point nearly three minutes have passed since this whole thing has started he can't move he's too scared to move he says he watches it as he grows more intense and then it seems to peak and the reason why he can use that terminology because obviously you go well this must be the worst of it and then it gets louder and more violent well clearly this must be the worst of it it keeps getting worse he says it peaked because it started to slow down the banging became less frequent the door shook with less power behind it

until eventually just a few ba ba ba ba ba and then the basement was quiet the door stopped shaking the pounding stopped Tony gets up and terrorized raised completely panicked but whatever was causing this whoever was causing this it's ended and he goes there has to be a logical explanation for this and the most logical explanation is one of my sisters so he might have been the only boy or he might have had his sisters they or he might have had sisters who particularly tormented him but he goes it had to be one of my sisters they must have snuck down here and they played this prank on me there has to be an answer so he gets up and he walks over to the

closet door and he slides the roller back there's no one in there it's empty and this you know Tony was hoping there was a rational explanation for this but now that he has revealed the empty closet to himself he the only other option i mean a science nerd might say well you know based on the barometer pressure of basements in this part of the country or whatever closet door shake but we're not worried about that he's not worried about that it's his bedroom it's closet door was just shaking violently for three minutes barometer pressure or not yeah he hoped it was one of his sisters they're having a good laugh at his expense but once he opened up the closet it was empty the only thing that could cross through his mind is something is down here with me all of the uneasiness all of the feeling unwanted in my own room everything points

towards this event points towards this empty closet something is down here with me so i'm not going to be down here anymore Tony runs out of the bedroom runs upstairs and he goes for the rest of the time we lived in that home i did not sleep in the basement probably still played his cool super Nintendo games down there sure have a cold buddy is over hang out but when he came time for bed he slept with the rest of the uplanders in the house years later you know this would be a story that you would want a rational answer for you think about it a lot i don't know if he ever told his family about what he experienced it's pretty common for people in these type of situations not to just out of you know you don't

want to be get teased by your sisters scared of the ghost boy the boogie man's in your closet Tony he's like yeah you'd be terrified too if he's day eight we can swap rooms if you want a lot of people don't tell the family members maybe he did he just doesn't know it in his narrative he said you know years later i was sitting there thinking about i was still trying to figure out like what was that down there and he remembered something he didn't remember this to the moment it was happening he didn't remember this before or he might have remembered it but never really put two and two together until quite a few years later after they had moved out of the house at this point he remembers being told when he they first moved in so this was years before he turned 12 when they first moved into that house his mother gave him a warning that she had learned from a local neighbor neighbor saw this family move in and saw that they had young children

couple neighbors go hey you know welcome to the neighborhood we're glad to have you it's really nice place i see you have a lot of kids i see you have some kids i see you have a little young guy over there little young boy um you got to be careful with him in this area mom's like how so she heard the same thing from a couple neighbors they all kind of said the same thing to her they go well um it's beautiful neighborhood don't worry about like weirdos or perverts or anything like that but what happens is this area it will snow during the wintertime and it looks beautiful when that snow covers the golf course you look at your window and you just see these sloping white hills and then like fluffle the flat area where you actually play golf but they said yeah no and we never really had any issues but a year before this family the year before Tony's family moved into this townhome there was a man walking his dog through the snow on the

golf course and because of the way that the snow fell he didn't realize that he stopped working on the snow and was now walking across the frozen lake but when this man and his dog reached a certain point in the lake where it wasn't frozen enough to hold you know 180 200 pounds of the man plus however big the dog was they crashed through the ice and they both drowned in the cold lake water Tony had been given that warning by his parents hey you know be careful when it snows don't go walking out on the golf course because you won't see where the lake is and he knew that rule he respected that rule after that event every one of the neighborhood respected that rule you just you didn't know previous years probably was a heart and a freeze that you could walk across to but that

particular year that man and his dog couldn't make it and Tony goes wait a second this is what he realized years later everything was fine in that basement until the foundation cracked I had no trouble I never felt any concern or worry or creepiness about that basement until that lake water seeped in to my bedroom he started to think about it he goes what if that was the man's ghost the man who drowned in the lake through the water had found his way into my bedroom into that basement bedroom and if that's not chilling enough no pun intended now Tony when he thinks about the story he goes the pounding on the closet door I can only imagine must have been what it was like pounding on ice while you're trapped

underneath it in the freezing cold water the pounding grew more and more incessant and then didn't immediately stop it just slowly tapered away until it was nothing as if someone was in a panic pounding on this ice until eventually their strength and the remaining oxygen in their lungs simply and slowly gave out creepy story it's almost like a classic ghost story in a way it's interesting because water is one of those things that is so connected to the paranormal specifically ghosts when we talk about places that have a lot of ghostly activity rivers lakes that's why there's so many sightings of like the woman in white around the lake or around a river around a canal those stories are around the world

ghosts and water have long been connected this episode I did about bathroom ghosts and I gave a presentation of the Oregon ghost conference a couple years ago it also had that as a topic right in bathrooms you have constant running water you have showers you have basins of water toilets and something like that water can amplify spirits and so it would kind of make sense right and we look at it as from a paranormal angle ghost is trapped in the lake and what's craziest for a year that spirit would have only been in that lake that man's ghost is floating under there they're like why do I keep losing my golf balls and then every so often I find them floating above my bed covered in ectoplasm how do they find their way home um this ghost in this lake of this man and his dog who drowned I don't know if the dogs are part of the ghost but you have this man in this lake and then when water seeps into a nearby home he enters the home he's able to

through the water what's interesting it was was the spirit act because remember Tony felt uneasy for a while before the closet banging was the spirit actively trying to drag was the spirit actively trying to chase Tony out of the home or was it simply so confused as to what was going on that it was just giving this very unwanted presence now the idea when Tony says it felt like you know when you're walking a room and someone hates you in that room that energy that does make the spirit seem more malignant it's kind of interesting ghost story said it's a classic ghost story but there's some interesting details the whole thing is fascinating to me but the hate could be the hate that sometimes the dead have towards the living but the pounding on the closet door that seems to mimic the pounding of a drowning man on ice trying to find his way back out that makes it seem more like a sympathetic spirit like it's trapped and he doesn't know that he's

dead and now he isn't a house but he may not even know he's in a house it could just be a moment replaying in time a very creepy moment sure the moment of a man's death but was this a malignant spirit that wanted the basement for it and it alone maybe his dog would come visit or was it a trapped spirit who didn't know he was dead he's pounding on the closet door like he was pounding on the ice we don't know I mean I think that was a wise decision for Tony not to sleep down there I think it's funny he goes but my Nintendo's down there and it's really Kentucky so I'm gonna keep hanging out down there but I'll go to bed somewhere else uh you have to wonder if this haunting continued in the middle of the night when no one was down there I'd be curious if the haunting still happening today because it's not like the foundation had to be cracked and there was constant running water it was as if once the water got in there now the spirit had access to that basement did he ever leave who knows right he's still maybe down there

and would he like it that he has this space all to himself this lonely trapped spirit or you know is he just sitting in the darkness there when no one's down there alone in death just like he was alone the last few minutes of his life because I'm assuming the dog I'm assuming the dog floated in the opposite direction it's all so I'll swim in and you know it's funny when I lick this up you know because I like to fact check what I can fact check I I imagine and I don't know if this was true but I looked at this I go well if you fell through the ice could the ice re-freeze quick enough that then you would not be able to get out and you'd be pounding on it and that's not the case that so I read down I go oh well why would he be pounding on the ice why didn't he just climb out well apparently it's not easy either basically when you fall through the ice they say a problem with it is that you

immediately start panicking and you can move a foot or two in any direction and you're no longer underneath the hole you broke through they also say that if you fall through the ice even if you found the hole and you begin to pull yourself up all of that ice in that area is compromised that other piece of ice you're using to pull yourself up will most likely also crack and fall as well it's like when you get trapped in a swamp it's an environment that is inhospitable to survival well I mean I know like alligators live in the swamp but you know what I mean like it's very easy to get stuck in a swamp it's very easy to get stuck once you fall through the ice it's pretty easy to get out of a pool right that was designed for a human most people don't just die in pools they're designed otherwise no one would have one but my boy and he's my boy and they even if the ice doesn't immediately freeze over by the time you're like spinning around or just the shock of that cold water by the time you realize oh my god I fell in the water I need to get

out you could be two feet away from that hole and good luck getting back even if you do all of the ice around you is probably going to keep collapsing until you find a part that's strong enough but most likely you're going to be in a panic pounding on the ice hoping someone hears you a lot of times other people do have to get involved to save you from the situation but you know I was looking that up and I go oh okay you know I didn't know that I imagined why imagine physics was like in loony tunes where you immediately if you fall in or pull out you'll be a perfectly rectangular shape of ice with you and a funny pose frozen in it the ice doesn't immediately freeze over they also said here's some ice tips walking on you just you just told the story about a 12 year old boy being haunted by a dying man yes I did but then I also started looking at ice survival tips because that's alien to me I live in a place with snow I hate snow I didn't grow up here can't stand it but apparently when you do walk

on ice not recommended but when you walk on an icy lake you're supposed to have these things they're called retractable ice picks and I was like dude that's dope that's awesome it's like a regular ice pick that you stab someone in the base of the neck with uh but retractable so you like hit a button and he goes she comes out I was like that'd be dope dude you're just walking around with these two metal rods one in each hand and some cop goes hey you what are you doing there you're like I'm just walking on ice bro just it's you're walking behind people stabbing them in the base of the neck they're like oh but I don't know what ice is is this guy ice uh I was like retractable ice picks that sounds fantastic well then I looked them up they're hella dumb they're stupid I mean you might save your life on the ice but they look dumb they're like red and yellow cables they look like the VG VCA whatever those cables VGA cables you used to

use all the way enough to hook up your super Nintendo to your television set the the pick part is super small like they're not even really retractable I mean they retractable I guess but and you wear them around your neck they say keep a pair of retractable ice picks around your neck I was like oh that's awesome I'm like using them like nunchucks and stuff like that no they're just dumb they're stupid you see this podcast as you're laying on ice right now you're distributing your body weight is perfectly as you can you're like and now I'll use these ice picks thank you for these dumb looking ice picks um they're stupid but anyways I was expecting like a weapon but I mean maybe if you're fighting a squirrel a really slow squirrel you might be able to beat them you probably have a better chance choking them with the you're like I said they're supposed to save your life not everything has to be a weapon well they should be and then apparently you're supposed to wear a life vest when you're walking across the ice which listen man life

vests are the worst they make you look like a total you're like playing just crash you're listening to the podcast as you're playing crash you're like well luckily this life vest we'll save my life in Jason Jason will never say that about this y'all ripping it off you you're like yeah Jason's right this is for losers life vest looks super stupid let's just be honest they're dumb they're uncomfortable they're very unsexy and they're dumb I would argue man use the word dumb twice I'm in ribbon up all your life vest life vest are stupid I understand these serve a purpose but they look dumb and they already listen I know I got to have it on a boat that's why I don't go on boats because I don't want to wear life vest like they're stupid but if I thought that was stupid you know you're like partying with your babes on your yacht the the SS gauntlet it's a brown colored boat I'm standing there with the members of

Capitax sorority we're just having a big old party and I see a bunch of guys pull up and they got on their vest they got on their life vest we don't know like you can't wear a bikini in a life vest at the same time where are you stupid there I was like hold this on lady at least you don't look dumb she's floating upside down some guys pull up on life vest and they're like hey yo can we join the party and I go absolutely not because you guys look like idiots life vest are stupid but if I thought that was bad enough a boat full of people like their life vest say DEA on it they're not life vest they're actually bullproofed decades as they're raiding the SS gauntlet there's a lot of a Delta 9 THC I want a Delta 9 THC on this boat right now but imagine you're standing there you're just kind of hanging out and you see a guy walking through the snow with a life vest on you're like what you're like hey idiot why are you wearing

a life vest you're on land and he goes yeah I know but they recommend to wear a life vest when you walk across frozen lakes that way if you fall in fall in everything will be frozen but your head we call it a reverse Disney it makes it easier easier for us to like get saved or something like that he's got a shrugged his shoulders I'm like you're a dork but if they do recommend if you're gonna be walk on ice to wear a life vest which doesn't make any sense because it's not that you drown well that happens too but you're freezing in there doesn't matter if you're bobbin at the time like a big old idiot I joined search and rescue just the laughing people just laughing at him as they're bobbin in the frozen water you're gonna help me now I'm just gonna stand in the laugh of it you know you're under the ice you're frozen and now you're just floating as well it's stupid I mean listen does anyone ever do this I doubt it I would be shocked

if I can find a photo of a guy walking across the frozen lake with the ice boy or something I will say they're probably an exception to that the rescue crew going out there to help the drowning man but you know I guess that's okay right but I'm telling you know what else is the firefighters wearing fireproof jackets take that off you dorks you don't even need that helmet what do you afraid of fire is gonna fall in your head I mean you know you obviously if you're searching rescue maybe even then I'd be like hey hey you're actually not gonna wear that out today in the case like what are you talking about it's like well we just got that frozen lake call that guy in his dog are drowning but you're not gonna show up in that life vest what if there's a hot what if there's a bunch of hot girls there what if Capitax or what if Capitax sororities there he's like oh you're right he's taking it off he's taking off his life vest he's like we don't need these either thrown away his retractable ice pixel is like that's the way men rescue men with zero training

or equipment we just go out there sticker hands in the cold water and pull them out just the way God intended but then this guy in his dog did die so apparently he either fell in the water no and saw it happened in the first place or searching rescue you know they probably needed at least a little bit of equipment to save his life but terrifying story and some life-saving tips you're like Jason you fact you actively encouraged us not to save our lives life vests are stupid what type of ending is that well I don't know but it isn't ending nonetheless did rapper radio gmail dot com it's gonna be our email address you can also send us up at facebook dot com slash dead rapper radio tick-tock is at their every dead rapper radio is the daily paranormal conspiracy and true crime podcast you don't have to listen to it every day but I'm so glad you listen to it today have a great one guys
