Have you ever tried listening to your favorite music and dancing when you're bummed out or in a crummy mood? Hi, I'm Scarlet Classic and welcome to Classic Advice. A mental health podcast that is guidance for resilient souls and cring-com amid the chaos. Listen, if you are listening, this one is particularly dedicated to you because we have talked about this in the past about us dancing in our kitchen and it makes me think of you whenever I do that now. Listening to music that we love when we are not in the best frame of mind is likely one
of the last things that we want to do. I don't particularly, you know, it doesn't come naturally, I guess, to click on uplifting music when you are not feeling uplifted. However, I have found that this does wonders for me and it's something that I kind of have to force myself into in the moment but if I play it and if I force myself to dance eventually, after a couple of minutes, I get into that happy place because my body is in motion, I'm listening to something that I love and I don't know why it works but it just does. And even if you can't dance or you don't like dancing or you're in a vehicle driving,
just listening to some favorite songs while you're cruising down the road or when you're sitting in your living room, it really does help. I've even done this with my kids when we had the house, we would make, you know, we would do the floors together and I would play our favorite music, I would put some of Levi's favorite songs, Riley's favorite songs, my favorite songs, and just to have them on shuffle as we clean the house and we would, you know, stop at moments and have little dance sessions, you know, when Levi's song would come on, he'd jam out or mine or Riley's and we made something that was boring and not very fun cleaning the house, something that was really fun and we had a blast.
Music, music does wonders. When is the last time you've listened to some of your favorite songs and just danced like no one was watching? Even my dogs love this. When I put music on outside and I start dancing around with them, they start dancing or Joey in particular, Riley's dog, dances with me, it's adorable. When is the last time you've played some of your favorite music? Music Thank you for tuning in to Classic Advice. Guidance for Resilience Souls. May you stay anchored in what studies you, rise resilience through what challenges you, and carry calm into whatever comes next. Take care, love you, bye.
