A list-snuff production. What's next? What the hell are we doing? Who does that? Ron, we don't talk unless the microphones are on. It's Matt and Alex. Hey, G'day G'day, Matt of Kine and Alex Tyson here with you for today's Matt and Alex podcast. Thank you for joining us. It's my mentor's Mondays. This one, Matt. We're not only revealing the lineup for our first rave in Brisbane, later in the year that you'd like, given away two tickets. You got a parody today? Which is sick. That also, you've been having some fat chats. Well, yes, you know me, like getting into the weeds with people who I know on the internet. So that's fun. We might dabble just in a very light love affair with politics in today's show. Just a very fris- what is a frisant? Frisant? Crosand. What is it? Frisage? What do you do when you just have a little- You're talking about dressage, the equestrian dance.

Look, look, look, okay, the point is big show. We've got tough questions asked by partners. We've got tickets to raves to give away and more lineup clues for the Sydney rave. For Brisbane, your line-up's getting announced. Sydney, you get your first clue as to who will be joining us at the Manning Bar on October 30. And then of course, a parody. So please, let's dive in, Matt and Alex all. Happy and ready to go. Let's do this. Everyone ready? We got to excited. Now as you know, if you've been listening to Matt and Alex across the year, Monday has become parody day. Often, I take quite a scattergun approach, but I kind, to the parody, some days it could be- Topical, some days it could be these random thoughts I've been having or random experience I had. But very rarely does one parody sort of have anything to do with the previous parody. But today it's almost a bit of a sequel.

Okay. This last week I think you might recall I did a shout out to my girlfriend sister, Jen. Absolute legend whose, you know, one fatal, fatal flaw is she cannot process. Gluten at all. I've started to wonder whether I've got a little bit of an intolerance, you know. Whether I just, whether yeah, I went to gluten to life. But I just push myself through it really to be honest, punish my body for that pretty goodness. Let's do it. I do the same. I went to an all you can eat Korean barbecue buffet the other day. I've made the call in my life. The flavor in the mouth is worth much better than the pain you put yourself through. I'm still dehydrated from that day. Like, where day is out at the moment. And I'm like, I'm getting headaches at night. I'm not sure if it's about assault or whatever it was, I'm still parched. Anyway. That's this, there's nothing to do with what we're talking about.

Okay. No, no, no, no. Shout out to the sister, Jen. And a question just, just popped up. It's a question that all people in relationships might face at some time. But I think particularly people like yourself and I'm at a kind of, once you get a question like this, you become on edge because you know, oh, this isn't a flippant question. This could have deeper ramifications. And I am on deck. It's not matter of kind of asking like, is the less eating itself? Easy question to answer. Because the consequences aren't so dire, you know. But when you get a question, the such that I got after she's a real hot girl with the heart of a lie. Something like that. Anyway. So shout out, Jen and stuff. Get the, just to get the random question from the partner. Do you think Jen's pretty? I'm like, okay. You got that question from Annalise. Yeah. Do you think my sister is pretty? See my sister is pretty. Okay. Hold on, yeah. Bro, no, exactly what's going on. We got to, we got to break this down. That's full blown trap territory. Hey.

You found yourself in a trap. Yeah. I am sniffing around the bush and found this tool, this open area. With a piece of string coming off a stick holding up a box. This little rat dog was on edge. Okay. Now, okay. Wait. Before we find out what you said, Alex Tyson. Yeah. Have you, have you got the similar question, Matto Khan? Thankfully, Belinda doesn't have any sisters. So I say, Brought of you thrown out some, some cheese before to see if Steve would take the bait. He's in traps and on stop, but I'm setting them up daily. But he has, he's gotten better at noticing one. Oh, really? And, yeah. Can you tell us an early one where he absolutely put his foot in it, found himself dangling upside down with a, from a tree. You know, where his foot hanging out. He's always been pretty good. Now I just do it for fun. Okay. Just, you know, So what do you say?

Just to mess with his head. Yeah. What do you say? Like what you're watching TV and you go, oh, that's the other person's. Just to see someone walk past. What do you say? What do you say? What that happens? Oh, just like, oh, I will say, oh, they're really beautiful like something like that. I just leave that hug in the air. I just leave that to you know, and I'm going to answer the way that I'm assuming. Yeah. There's the best answer. Yeah. I will say, um, who? Oh, yeah. And then you say, did you not, did you not see that person? You're like, no, not at all. Yeah. Sometimes he pretends he can't hear me. That's pretty good. Is Aruga the wrong answer? Hubba, hubba? Is that what you should say? I don't know. I'm still learning these particular things. But I do remember being on a tour with a previous partner with a trip. I was like 12 people and four of the two guides like, all right. Everyone tell the group their hall pass.

And everyone starts going around and naming it. I'm there with my partner. And I'm like, I don't know what to say here. What do you say? There's no good answer. I absolutely had a howler. Because I'm like, okay. And this is my thinking at the time. I was like, okay. I don't want to say something obvious or people like, no. I'm talking about, oh, yeah. I know them like, damn. Okay. That's interesting. So I went, I went with it a real obscure person. And I said, Nadine Vissa. Everyone was like, this is my plan. Everyone was like, what the hell is that? I'm like, ah, it's just this random Dutch herdler. That I was sore on the Olympics recently. So the names popped out. Worst possible name I could have said. Worst possible name. Because everyone people like, look it up. And they're just like, why so specific man? I need to go the most obvious silly name

that I could come up with. That's what I should have done. Bro, as soon as you said that name, I googled her. Yeah, I'm like, I'm like, yeah, she really must have made an impression on you. That is dreadful. It's a wonderful person. I mean, wonderful person. Sure, sure, it's a wonderful person. Ah, anyway. Okay, so we've learned to completely imagine that there is no other people that exists that could be attractive. Back in the day. Back in the day, I was doing absolute howlers of answers to these sort of traps, Matt. I was getting caught all the time. Okay. Annalise has asked you, do you think my sister is pretty? From all accounts, I nailed this answer because I started with like, oh, well, she's definitely got the Wilson family like beauty and symmetry and that sort of thing. But maybe, you know, not as much as my taste as yourself obviously. Just like, okay, Clevver, Wilson family. Bronn, how did we feel about that response? Yeah, respectful to everybody, but still, yeah, Eric, and that's fine.

Yeah. Because what do you mean? I don't want to do, I don't like putting other people down. So you don't want to go too far, the other way, be like, oh, no, they're hideous. Yeah, exactly. No, you're not trying to make a seem like. What if you just said, well, she looks like you. So of course, she's pretty. You don't want to go too hard. I'm going to cry around. Oh, it's a tightrope, isn't it? It is a very, very fine line. And so I wrote a song to talk about the tightrope walking that we do, Maddo Khan, in order to try and get out of these situations. I imagine the world in which I absolutely didn't nail the answer. So here we go. Let's hit it. And to help me. The incredible Ricky Martin, the original captain over. All right, let's go. My girl likes asking questions that really makes me squirm. Like is her sister pretty or would I love a richie was a world?

I've learned her bit to say. Yes. She asks what her worst feature or what whole pass I'd select. I say it's Sydney, sweetie. Apparently that's incorrect. She wonders if I've noticed if she's put on any weight. I've watched as my panicking brain deliver rays. I say you have but you look great. I could have shot my mouth now. We're sleeping out on the sofa. My answer got a thumbs down. We're sleeping out on the sofa. These questions make me dread that I'm gonna commit a faux pas. She asked who I'd bury if she was dead. Now we're sleeping out on the sofa. Hey, we're sleeping out on the sofa. We're sleeping out on the sofa. Hey. Wow. Alex Dawson.

All right. That was very well done, my man. Also massive props to Adelaise, my girlfriend, who helped me write that song. Thank you very much. Adelaise for that. Which is very good. You've got another night in your own bed. Yes, that's good. And it's funny we're writing it because we're picking a name. Let's go with Sydney, sweetie. That's incorrect. There's also like, I was thinking of going, she's like, oh, you can put the yoga instructor. Because that's also incorrect. Because one is too attainable. So I don't trust you. And the other one's just like, no personality. So I don't respect you. And it's just there's no correct answer, Matt. The truth is not the correct answer in these situations. Mau, Mau, Mau, Mau. Mau, Mau, Mau. Okay, well, we won't dive in the pool, Matt. I certainly will be running by the pool of politics.

A friend of the show, Punters Politics happened to drop into a little gig that I was at a Newcastle. Newcastle's own again. Conrad Benjamin, AKA Punters Politics. I got a text going, I'm seeing your boy tonight, Maddo Kine. So did you go along? Did you bring out your political stand-up gear, mate? Thanks for just flinging my number around, mate. I thought it would be fine. Oh, you're now. Yeah. You get the support line, Blink, from Punters Politics. It was good. We caught up after the show. It was great to actually meet in person. Because I've seen so much of the Punters videos online. And I'm a big, big fan of his cause, I guess. Looking for more kind of taxation. From a lot of the big mining and gas groups, etc. But I've been thinking a little bit. I've been watching some of Conrad's videos lately. And I've been watching some of Hannah Ferguson going up against Anthony Albanese.

And I'm just starting to get a bit nervous here. I'm just getting a bit nervous. It's a tough line to walk. I guess the question I'm going to ask you, Alex Tyson, is. Are we setting up a world where the left is going to eat itself? I think we've probably already already in the world in that world. Like it's been that world for a long time. There's been plenty of understanding that. And I speak about this as someone who really doesn't like the terms left, the terms centrist, the terms rights. Because it immediately separates Australians. And sociologically, people writing like essays and theorems and doing PhDs on societies. They could do that. It is 100% not helpful when you're trying to talk to someone, but particularly in a comment section, they're like, you're left, I'm like, no, we all want affordable housing.

The right, quote unquote, would prefer to focus on immigration. And the left would prefer to focus on building social housing, or whatever. But it really sets up two different people. Yes, yes. Tell us whether you think the left is eating itself. I'd always say, like, why aren't the greens doing any good? I actually don't know. I don't know why the green ones are the major parties. The greens barely budging. They're thinking this. Absolutely stuck in the mud. Why? Why? It's not because odd now, you know, Conrad's punches politics is attacking the Labor government for bloody not doing anything on gambling, or not doing anything on gas or expanding coal mines, whilst having a conference with Pacific Islanders going, we really need to care about the climate. You know, that sort of thing. The greens have been doing that for ages, and they're limping anything at the moment. A lot of people have been saying the left have been eating themselves for a very long time.

And then, you know, mum Dany in New York, he's a Democrat running against a Democrat, you know, and calling it rather than going, oh, we all need to unite as Democrats. He's like, no, he was calling the previous bears out. And then he gets in and it's like, oh, that's working. He sort of stood behind. And he comes up and he's going, oh, you know, I am a Democratic social, like saying the socialism word in America, which is such a dangerous thing to do politically, because it's like, oh, well, no one's. Everyone still hates socialism and hates communism. But he's like, no, I'm not going to water down my message to try and appeal to the masses. No, I think this is the right thing to do and goes forward. So I don't think the left, I think probably trying to appease things is why things aren't cutting through, like, one nation. And why people like so many people who voted for Trump in 2016, would have voted for Bernie Sanders in 2016, you know? And it's because it was a real anti-establishment kind of thing.

And a lot of people in the Democrats were probably saying to the Bernie Sanders campaigns, like, oh, why are you doing this? You've got to get behind Hillary, you know? I'm with her. Let's unite. And I was like, well, I'm not uniting behind a message I don't agree with. So answer your question. I don't know. I don't know. You know, if Hannah knocks off Elbe and EZ, and we get Pauline Hansen as as Prime Minister of Australia, there'll be some teething problems in the, in the transitions. Teething problems. That is difficult at all, Alex Tyson. Everything you just said has annoyed me more. This is grim. Why is that? I mean, because there's, it's like going again, it's the same sort of angle that a lot of the people that we were talking about, Hannah, you know, Conrad, it's like, oh, well, we should be criticizing government, absolutely. But the answer isn't criticize them and get rid of them.

The answer is make them better. Exactly. But what we're doing now is getting rid of them when we don't have a suitable replacement. There is nothing good. It's like, it's like when the Australian cricket team is losing, and it's losing every game, and it sucks. And you go, do you know what, you know what the best thing to do right now would be? Is to get a bunch of 10 year olds in who have never played cricket before and see how they go because God, it's the team now really sucks. So let's get some absolute amateurs in and do that. It's a terrible way to do it. Well, I don't know. No one is going to, it's not going to be good. It's going to ruin the game for everyone. Yeah. And so, you know, what we need to do is actually just improve the teams that are good at playing. The problem is the teams rather than facing a, you know, boomerah coming in, you know, bowl at 140 clicks and trying their best and missing. These people have a long time to be able to make good policy and decisions.

And they're not. And just because they're making poor decisions, do you have to pander? No, I don't know the answer. And I share your concerns when it comes to, and that's exactly what I was trying to say to Dave Hughes is mate, criticize all you want. You don't have a plan because the next people without, you know, replacing it with something better, what is the, what is the choice here? You know, it will be interesting. I think we'll have to, we'll have to chat to Conrad at some point. We'll have to chat to Anna. You said you got four hours sleep. We'll have to chat to we better this. No, not at all, but I did, I did throw it down as we were leaving. I said, I said, you'll have to come on the show and I'll have some words with you. Yeah, interesting. Because, yeah. Let's just say no one's safe right now, Alex Tyson. I'm, I'm, I'm, I want to, let's get more, I want more big chats.

Let's go. Happy to have big chats, man. Peter. Peter. Peter. How are you boys? Oh, we're good. It's Matt O'Kyne and Alex Tyson here. Are you, are you aware of why we might be calling? I am aware. What do you reckon it is, mate? I think of a, I won. Some tickets to a race. Well, it depends who do you reckon is playing the race number one for five raves and five days and Brisbane a club, crowbar. Let me ask, I'm going to give you a little bit of a clue and you give me the answers that you think it is, okay? Okay. We had a, are you winning EDM artist? Yeah. The kite's through the tangle. Okay. Interesting. Interesting, yeah. Yeah. Who do you think dressed up as Catwoman? It's splendor in the grass. I think it was patients from the greats. Right, I think. Yeah, okay. What about a, a band shoes been nominated a lot for R.A. is never one one but likes to play with some brothers from the UK at big stadium shows.

Think it might be ballpark music. Pre-eraxily correct, I won! Yes! That's right, kite string tangle, patients from the greats and never before seen. I think I'm, I'm okay to say that, never before seen. Five person DJ sets, the entirety of ballpark music on the hook to come and play you some tunes in Brisbane and October 29 as part of Matt and Alex's five days in five days. It is rave number one and what a lineup that is Peter, how you feeling about that? Unreal, unreal. Now we left it to the entire country. Are you actually a Queenslander yourself? No, not at all. Okay, so that's not your lineup you get. You just get to look, to, to watch from afar as a, vo- vo- whereabouts are you based? I am Sydney. Right. Do you want to come and join us at the Manning Bar? The, the very next night, arts for a little rave? I will absolutely be there. Peter, you're obviously good at getting these clues. So we're going to play the first clue for an artist who's joining us in Sydney.

Okay, you might have, don't give anyone else little hints. You want to keep it for yourself, obviously, but have a listen to this because this is artist number one who is joining us at our Sydney rave at the Manning Bar, October 30. I am part of a band from Canberra. Oh, short, but sweet part of a band from Canberra. He's okay. That narrow is it down. Do you reckon you might know who it is, Peter? Absolutely no clue. Okay, well, that's quite a clue. Well, maybe one more little hint then, Bron. Our debut album turns 10 this year, and we're doing an anniversary to it in October. Oh, okay, that might have given away a little bit. Easy. Okay, so Matt and Alex, 10 years on from raves, this band 10 years on from their debut album, we might leave it there, Peter, congratulations. We'll see you in Sydney. Thank you. We'll see you there. And we would love to see you in Brisbane with that incredible lineup, not only. Do we have patients from the greats? Not only do we have ballpark music, not only do we have the kite string, tangled joining us, Matt, but very happy to announce.

Another special guest, Jeremy. Neil is on the lineup as well. Oh, yeah. That's a forfer. If you don't mind, we're almost holding the ball up to the crowd at that point because Matt and Alex will be performing a rave set for you as well, going hard or going home. Now remember as well, the microphones will be out. Who knows what'll be taking place on those stages with that amount of talent. It's never anything you could expect at a Matt and Alex rave. So please grab your tickets, Matt and Alex.com.au or hit the show notes right now. But that's the end of the show, Daiso. We are going to be back tomorrow with another podcast and look who knows. There might be clues littered all through the week. So you're going to have to listen to all the apps. Expect the unexpected. Join us then. Have a good one. Let's see you soon. Bye-bye.
