4:08And that is that the Dodgers are calling up a picture that I think has the chance to be a X factor, a major one for this postseason. That is Chris Bubitch is going to be joining the Dodgers in Cincinnati. And he's not expected to be active right away, but he has been elite for as far as production goes, as far as how effective he's been down at the Myelick level. He's got exactly 0.00ERA across six appearances for O.K.C. And this comes after the Dodgers really had struggles yesterday with Tanner Scott, Jack Dryer, I think is still pitch well, Alex Vesia has had some ups and downs. But Chris Bubitch is a very interesting piece because the Dodgers, they made a sneaky move

5:12to get a Chris Bubitch to get a guy that everyone said, wait a minute, he's injured, what's wrong with them? Well, the Dodgers they acquired him from the Royals on August 3rd at the trade deadline. LA traded right handed pitcher Carlos Durran, who had a 338 ERA down at Triple A, Oklahoma City. So it wasn't like he was just some random prospect. He was a guy that was having some success. And Bubitch was injured at the time. He has been out since mid May as far as the Major League level with left elbow soreness and shoulder discomfort that later said his rehab back. But before he went down in 2026, he had posted a 411 ERA with in 15 to 3rd Zettings at work 51 strikeouts and a 123 whip. That's not great. Those aren't numbers that are very impressive. Those are numbers that scream, oh, this is a guy that can have a big impact for the Dodgers. But it is the upside that he has displayed when he's been fully healthy. In 2025, he made the All Star team. He posted a 32.5% chase rate. So he gets swing and miss. He gets

6:21hitters to chase pitches off the plate out of the zone. A 32.5% chase rate puts him in the 90th percentile. And the Dodgers plan all along was to get him healthy to use him as reliever and then try to build him to that. They weren't ever interested in building him back up into a starters workload. They want to use him as a reliever. And that's what we've seen for him. So if Chris Bubitch can develop into a legitimate high leverage lefty, that trade is very interesting and one that can help their rosters. I mean, this guy is a bad son of a boobitch. I mean, okay. All right, you know what? I'll give myself a bra for that. Come on, dude. What are we doing? Give myself a bra. Okay. I saw my guy climb 25 on X said, you can't wait to see Chris make opposing hitters is Bubitch. I'm sorry. Well, the good thing is I think that he's someone that can certainly impact

7:27this team. Chris Bubitch, when he's been right throughout his career, has been effective. And I think the fact that he has a arsenal that allows him to, I think, maximize his stuff in a short burst situation makes it really interesting. His money pitches his change up. That's what drives a lot of his whiffs. That's how he's able to generate his chase and it has a great separation from his fast ball. All because his fastball is not explosive. It's a low to mid 90s heater, but they're just there to set up the change up. Also throws a sinker that gives hitters a different fastball to look at. It helps generate a lot of good soft contact ground balls has been working on his slider. That's really his main breaking ball, especially against left handed hitters. And he also used a curveball too. That's another change of speed. It changes the shape. And if you use it frequently, you got to change up a force. He has a sinker slider and a curve ball. And the key with Bubitch is he's not an overpowering

8:33pitcher. He doesn't rely on big big time velocity. It's the pitch shapes. It's changing speeds. It's keeping hitters off balance at the plate. And for the Dodgers, I think it makes it very interesting because a change up that can give you swing and miss from the left side can do a lot for this team. And I'm excited about this move because look, the flip side to that. And you guys know that I'm not a big Edwin Diaz guy at this point. I almost think that he's probably a lost cause for the remainder of this season. I mean, yesterday Edwin Diaz, he gave up five runs. He gave a five runs in two thirds of an inning. Five runs on two hits, had two walks, hit a batter, had one strike. Edwin Diaz, I don't want to hear Timmy trumpet again this year unless he can turn around significantly. In fact, when he comes back, he's got to get at least five saves and

9:34look dominant before he should be allowed to play Narco by Timmy trumpet. Like I was saying, he should change his walk out entrance music to the Jaws theme instead of Timmy trumpet. Because at least when I hear the Jaws theme, I know something bad is about to happen. Dunin Dunin Dunin. Hit Dunin. Walk Dunin. Double. Dunin. Home run. That's been the Edwin Diaz experience. That's what you hate to see. And I will say this. And it's an angle I've been thinking about for the last couple of weeks. And that is that I think the Dodgers financial muscle. It also comes with some negatives. And I think that the Dodgers unlimited budget has hurt them when it comes to finding relievers. Because the price tag tells you what it costs. Doesn't necessarily tell you what it's worth. Having the biggest budget doesn't mean you have the best idea.

10:36It just sometimes mean you can afford more than the other teams. And I think that it's hurt their creativity. Think about it. You guys could have done, if you're a GM, you guys could have done the Dodgers did last couple of years. You could have signed Tandor Scott. You could have signed Edwin Diaz. They just wanted a lot of money. And yes, of course, the organizational stability is a big reason why they're to win championships. But it's not like you had to look long and hard into a ton of research. The Dodgers feel like they have a problem with the back of their bullpen. So they went out. They got the most expensive option. So I mean, that's that's the thing. It's not always the price. The highest paid employee isn't always the best employee. You know how that is. Just look at your companies. Is the highest paid employee the best employee at your company? It's not always the case. Just same. So any addition to Chris Boobitch is going to be great. A little transition to yesterday's game where I think that's a natural transition to Edwin Diaz because or to a Gardo Henriquez because that it was where the bullpen

11:42really was a disaster yesterday. So the Dodgers, they lost it. Walkoff fashion. They lose six to four. One of the more brutal losses of the year. And they had this game. They led three zero after seven innings. They had insurance run of the ninth and they still lost on a four run Marlins ninth inning. They followed to 90 to 59. They lose the series in Miami. And now they've dropped two straight after winning eight straight games. And Emmett Sheen, who I think I think Emmett Sheen, I'm not so I'm not so on him as a starter. I think Emmett Sheen has massive. I think Emmett Sheen could be a top 10 reliever in Major League Baseball. That's how good his stuff is. But hey, if he can still pitch like this, he's going to get a lot of opportunities to proving to be a starter. So we're not ready to go down that road yet. But Edwin, Edwin, Emmett Sheen yesterday gave up no runs on two hits. Had five strikeouts in one walk in six innings. And Miami-based, he did nothing against him. I think

12:43he could be more efficient, but he looked really, really good. And a host went Apollo. He really was the story of the game before the blue, the blow pen or check that bullpen blew it. He was two for two with a walk a double and a three run home run for his first hit as a Major League Baseball Player. Three RBI. I mean, how awesome is that, dude? First MLB hit was a 416 foot bomb. He reached base all three times. The swagger, the confidence. We'll talk more at host's way to Apollo here in a second. But Mookie Betz, he also had a good afternoon going two for four with a walk. And at RBI double, his ninth inning double gave the Dodgers a comfortable lead there for two. And then Freddie Freeman, Max Muncie and Kyle Tucker, O for 12. Everyone said, oh, that's the Kyle Tucker comeback game. Yes, he did find something in his swing that allows his bat to stand the zone longer. It looks better. Wasn't a great day. I'm still optimistic that we can get a

13:45better version of Kyle Tucker. So I'm not ready to write him off just quite yet. But at least for yesterday, they did not look good. Combined to go O for 12, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncie and Kyle Tucker, Tucker finished O for fourth the walk. Freddie Freeman grounded into two double plays. And Freddie Freeman looks like the knee is a problem and that honestly sent him to the Angelus. He does not look good either. What are we waiting for with Freddie Freeman? Look, father of time is undefeated. And right now, it looks like father of time is knocking on Freddie Freeman's door. And he needs to get right for the post season. I don't even think he needs to be a long conversation. Look, even Hoseway, Apollo's played some first base, right? You got you got Keke out there that can play first base for him. And there's the options. And yeah, the Dodgers got hits too. They finished with nine hits and five walks and they stranded 10 runners. But it was the bullpen disaster, the great bullpen disaster that led to loss yesterday. And at Guardian Rika's

14:47who stock has been rising, his stock has been going up. He gave up three hits in a walk and two runs and two thirds of an inning in the eighth. I mean, it was just his worst appearance of the season. I don't know if the guys route party in Miami, South Beach, Sippin, some whatever they're sipping on. I don't know. But that that that I guarded Rika's not a good and then Tanner Scott, he ended the ninth inning to protect a four to lead. He gave up three straight hits, including Javier Sonoa's game tying two run double. Scott, he went one third of an inning, gave up three runs on three hits. Had the blown save, got the loss. Brock Stewart came in, he replaced him and he immediately gave up a two run walkoff home run to Augustine Ramirez, a 407 foot shot. So the bullpen allowed six runs over the final two innings, six runs over the final two innings after Emmett Sheen, Alex Vesia combined to go scoreless for seven innings.

15:53So it was just a bad, bad loss. I mean, it really should have been an exciting win. Your rookie gives you his Hollywood debut. Your start to goes out there gives you six shut out innings. Mookie bets gives you an insurance run the night and the bullpen pissed down their leg. Absolutely pissed down their leg. Give the bullpen some adult diapers because they did just shot their pants, dude. Like it was that bad. You can't have that against the Miami Marlins. What are we talking about? Sometimes this team feels so unserious. You can't have that. And I hope this is just an aberration. A one time thing for Edgar and Rika's, but you just cannot have that. And I do not trust Tanner Scott in the post season. I just don't. I just really don't like. I don't care that he's had a better year. Last three weeks, he started looking more like the Tanner Scott from last year. Okay. I just can't trust Tanner Scott in the post season. I mean, like it is not a something I want to say,

16:59but I mean, do you guys trust Tanner Scott? Do you guys trust Brock Stewart? I don't want to see any of those guys Brock Stewart or Tanner Scott in big moments of the post season. Unfortunately, they're going to need those guys. And it is a real bummer that it hasn't worked out for the Dodgers to best relievers. I mean, Tarris Scott has had a really good year. And even the advanced stuff looks really good. Last three weeks, though, it's been a struggle. But let's focus on the bright spot in this game for a couple more minutes here. And that is on host, Wade Apollo because yes, it's one game and it's against the marlins. But what if host, a host, Wade Apollo keeps raking and show Hey, O'Tani comes back and he looks like he's still injured. Well, the Dodgers being a position where they play the Paula over O'Tani. I know that's unthinkable. But if O'Tani is truly injured, who knows what could happen? And if that's not the case, how else could they find a way to get to Paula on the field? Do you look as Theo has bad defense? But Theo has been better of late.

18:01I think the move is to put if Kyle Tucker doesn't hit, his defense has been bad too. So what I would do is I'd take Tucker out. I'd take Tucker out and I'd put Theo back in right and I would put De Paula in left and I would put Tucker on the bench. And I'd start to show Hey, O'Tani, at the DH. This is what I would do. That that if host, host, Wade Apollo could be a superstar hitter on the rise. Host, Wade Apollo could be the difference between the Dodgers three peeding or losing. If Kyle Tucker does not get his act together and it takes way more than just one game. Yes, couple nights ago, great, Grand Slam, a double, whatever, triple, great. I'm happy for you. I need to see weeks of this kind of production from Kyle Tucker to feel better about the season that he's had. If Kyle Tucker struggles for the last two weeks of the season, I want Teosca Hernandez moved to right field. I want Kyle Tucker

19:01moved to the bench and I want host, Wade Apollo as my starting left fielder and I will live with the defense because Kyle Tucker's defense is graded out as close to league worst this season. That's not to take that is based on what the numbers and metrics say. So this is not a world where, hey, I paid a guy. So we got to play the guy. This should be a meritocracy. Let the best players play. The Dodgers may have the next great superstar with host, Wade Apollo. Look at Miguel Cabrera did for the Marlins. Look at Derek Jeter did for the Yankees when he stepped onto the scene in the mid 90s. Look what Kyle Schwarber did for the Cubs. Look what one Soto did for the nationals. It's happened before it could happen again. Hostway to Paula is a hostway to Paula. Any absolutely deserves an opportunity to make the post season roster and potentially playing the post season. 20:03to hit like we saw him hit yesterday, but let's hear from host, Wade Apollo. Who spoke to reporters after the game? I think for that first big league swing, when you not only hit the three run homer, but just hat and made contact with that ball, how special was it for you to hit your first major league hit in the end home run? I'll never forget it. It was it was awesome knowing that my parents here in that moment, try to do something for the team, keep the ball rolling and that was the result. We saw the emotions from you, but what was it like seeing the reaction from your teammates and the dugout? It was sick to see all the react that way. They were all rooting for me, so they've been great and accepted me and basically into the team, so it's awesome. Did you visualize that moment in your head and how many times have you visualized that moment? I always visualized success, but I didn't know it was going to be just like that, but yeah, it was crazy. Did you expect yourself to do the bad flip and do everything else? No, I wasn't expecting that, I just

21:06kind of gave natural hit. When you turned it, look, were you looking at the dugout or were you looking at your parents? No, my parents isn't let feel, but I was looking at the dugout celebrating with the boys. I don't know if I can say it on TV. You stood there for a while and watched it. Did you? Yeah, you had to run. Probably for a second, but I was just enjoying the moment, man. I felt like a moment as special, like as my first one, so I'll never forget it. Probably the biggest takeaway, I mean, it's basically the same game, just around different people. But one thing I didn't expect is this team to be so cool, like all the players, the way how they accepted me, the way how they greeted me here, making me feel comfortable, and just put in me in a better position to just beat me, so that's all. You seem to be pretty naturally confident, but

22:09as you see the way that you've been able to control the big league strike zone, what else does that do for your approach going forward? I know I just got to keep on doing me, and I feel like, as I said, my first two days, I love my best even though I didn't get a result from it. I feel like the results has come in really soon, so I just feel like I just need to stick my approach and good things are coming. If I feel key to sticking to that and not putting more pressure on yourself as the days go by, I feel like just controlling my thoughts and just knowing that I'm a naturally a good hitter, I don't need to change anything, and just do what I've been doing this whole year, I've been raking, so just bring it up here and try and help the team hard back in. You know, you got the ball. What are you going to do with it? Is it something you give to your parents or how do you kind of want to commemorate that moment? Ain't no way I'm taking that. I think that he's had a lot of beer consumption over the off season. If you know what I mean, um, but the thing about the thing about Otani is he has that fire. He has that emotion. He internalizing it burns very bright. He's going to find a way to come back and help this team offensively in some capacity. I trust that that's going to happen. I don't necessarily trust this can happen for Kyle Tucker. And if it

25:17doesn't, I'm telling you that this is the plan. Kyle Tucker, Elbencio, which is fine. He'll be a $60 million bat bench. And then Depala in left, Teo in right in Pahez in center field. If Tucker rakes, then fine. Then I think you just have Depala as a left handed bat off the bench. I'm fine with that. If he rakes, if he turns it around, but we can't have that version all season. But I also think, look, the Freddie Freeman piece of this is concerning as well. Think about how bad this is. The Dodgers best hitter. Show Hey Otani's injured. The Dodgers best post season. Hey, Freddie Freeman is dealing with a knee injury. The Dodgers to best high is paid relievers are pretty much mostly an ass sandwich of late. All right. That's that's a big concern. Man, it really truly is. But let's hear from Dave Roberts see what the skipper had to say about the Dodgers series loss against Miami. What Emmett Cheon was able to do to get through six, but also how this ended was a tough one. What did you see from Tanner when he went back out there in the

26:20ninth and how it just seemed like they were able to get on him and then Brock Stewart? Well, you know, honestly, is I thought offensively we were good today. Scored enough to win. I thought Emmett through the baseball really well. And I think quite honestly is, you know, Eduardo's in, you know, Mookie couldn't come up with a ball with the exchange and that led to some runs. And then right there, that's a PFP that Freddie made an air and throw and, you know, Xavier's on then they get a butt-base hit that's perfectly placed and then Sonoa hits a ball that's jammed, but over the third baseman said and that's kind of how it happens. But, you know, you give a team extra outs. That's what happens. And so I don't think it was, you know, it's just kind of, it's baseball, it sucks, it feels bad, but you know, that's part of the game. When you mention the offense to be able to see Oswe to Paula with just the quality of a bat that he's had since making his major league debut for him to get a swing like that three-month homer,

27:24how big is that for a young guy and just how cool is it to see him have that moment? It was a great, great moment. You know, getting behind the account, filing pitches off, staying in the count, getting to a good count, hitting a poolside homer, actually pretty executed pitch, pretty well executed pitch, but that was great. And then almost it's another off the wall. So just a great day, got a walk. So had a perfect day and a lot of youth full enthusiasm and really uplifting. This was maybe the most uncomfortable. We've seen Freddie Freeman look as of late. You mentioned the error or the misplay in the ninth as well. What's your understanding of where Freddie's at? Is there a concern that he's not recovering as well as you'd like? You know, I don't know. I'm, you know, just talking to him today, he said he felt good. Obviously the swings don't indicate that, don't kind of validate that. You know, on the defense, yeah, I mean, I don't know, he's just, he's obviously not moving as well as he's used to.

28:25But yeah, I mean, I'll have him done tomorrow, give him a chance to recover today, then how you back in there on Tuesday. But yeah, I think that he's doing anything and everything he can to prepare. But yeah, you know, I think the last week it's pretty obvious that he's not himself in the box. How concerned are you about Rojas' shoulder? He said he might get an injection. Tomorrow, do you feel like this may keep him out for an extended period of time? I hope not. You know, we got two lefties here this next series. So whatever he can give us would be helpful. But obviously he's got to be healthy. So that's more of the training stuff, thing, decision. And I'm sure that, you know, tomorrow, kind of late morning, I'll get a text from him or the trainer. It's guys feeling. And then I'll make a decision, you know, early afternoon. It's too late. You're just so many guys dealing with stuff. How hard is it to balance that you want them to be healthy, but you also are playing for seeding and guys want to be on a role going

29:28into the postseason. How are you juggling all of those things? Yeah, it is kind of a juggling in the sense of, you know, the most important things to win games. The other important part of it is to get guys healthier. Keep them healthy to get them ready for the stretch run. I mean, they both work hand in hand, obviously. And then the other part is guys are vying for roles, opportunities. So the death we do have is huge. And just like even today, to be able to bring in Kike and for defense and then him take it back to feel good about his base hit. That's great, you know, and to get TAY office feed, Tommy office feed for eight innings, you know, to be able to kind of balance out the catching. So all those things are helpful while all the while still trying to, you know, win games. But yeah, today was a today was a crappy one.

30:28I haven't I mean, I actually I think that the last few have been really good as far as this stuff. So yeah, today I think it was just an odd day. I liked the way he came in, got the strike out and I know through three pitches and kind of I really felt good with him right there and, and, you know, it just didn't happen. Not surprised. I'm really not I don't think anyone in our organization is surprised as far as how he's going to conduct how he was going to conduct in it back. And then, you know, he had two gangs where he didn't get a hit but got on base a few times. You just saw that he didn't he wasn't chasing hits today. So earned another walk in the first of bad and then kind of fought to then hit the homer. But yeah, he's been fantastic. And it was good to also get him out there for five or six things defense too.

31:32For my young guy coming up and kind of bringing that energy that he's brought. It is it is. I think that you know, we're very veteran laden. So to have that youthful enthusiasm, I think that's good. Remind for all of us. And I love the energy. So the only tip I would give you is the trick for a used to be to take it all the way out in Fullerton because that was like the easiest path to take it. I actually failed my first driving test. First couple driving test to be honest. I felt in Glendale and I failed in Pasadena. And I think they're big reason why is they took me these two way stop signs. And I thought it was a four way stop sign and I kept going in a car like basically went towards us and they honked at me and the DMV person basically like, okay, let's go back to the DMV failed. So I actually ended up taking it. I think I passed my thing in Montabello in Montabello where it was cruising. It was chill.

34:36But just look, just take a deep breath. Don't be too nervous. It's like riding a bike. You'll drive a car second nature at some point. I believe in you. Just focus and always look for the two way to four way stop signs. If you're at a stop sign, make sure you check if it's if it's not a two way and if it is not a two way, make sure there's no cars coming. Just wait for no cars coming so you don't pull in front of that car. But that would be my advice for you. Okay, we've got DMV. We've got five dollars. Why are you looking so cute DMV? What? A couple and one of them was at Todd Lights. The Dodgers PA announcer introduced us all. So it's quoting here. Todd Lights were like, Hey, no badding. Doug McCain. It was awesome stuff. But Noel Sanchez, my guy, my king. Noel Sanchez. He interviewed Todd Lights and Todd Lights. By the way, Todd Lights told me that he's saying the national anthem at the Dodgers game a couple weeks ago

37:39and it went basically unreported. No one talked about it. I'm going to get the footage and post on the Dodgers nation account once I get it. But Noel did a great interview. You can find on YouTube and here is a piece of it right now. Todd, before you landed the job as the Dodgers PA announcer, you were a finalist for the Padres PA announcer position. What do you remember about that process? Ultimately not landing that job, but then finding a job and a home with the Dodgers. Yeah, that was quite a process because it was kind of like an American Idol open audition back in 2014. And I went out there with like thousands of other people and I made it down to the top two. I almost got the job, but I thank God every day that I didn't get the job. But I also thank the Padres because they gave me an opportunity to learn how to be a public address announcer to Major League Ballpark. I had never done PA announcing at all and I never even considered that that might be something that I could do. So I thank them for giving me the chance to learn and not hiring me so that I was ready for the Dodgers when the opportunity came. And when that opportunity

38:42came, do you remember when the Dodgers first offered you the job as PA announcer, where were you and how did you react? Oh, well, you know, I heard that they needed a part-time fill in for the previous guy and so I reached out to them and said, hey, I'm your guy. I just went through a process with the Padres. I know what I'm doing. I'm ready to do this and they said, well, why don't you come out for college baseball class which we do every year preseason. And I called a couple of innings and Lon Rosen came up and stuck his hand out and said, we're going to need you for the angel series. And I'm like, okay, cool. And then we went back and forth for several weeks until I finally realized that I was going to get the job. Amazing stuff from Noel and Todd Light, aka the Todd Father.
