Batteries outrageously dependable. All right, guys. Just wanted to come on here before letting this episode out. We obviously previously recorded this episode for the horrible, horrible tragedy that happened on Sixth Street and Austin this weekend. I mean, it can't really put into words, you know, how you feel about something like that, especially when it's a place you've been. You have friends that are in the area and, you know, it really hits home when you see

something like that happen at a place you're familiar with and it's not too far off from wondering if that could be somebody that you love or some or even yourself. So just wanted to take a quick moment and say our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected with the shooting that happened at Viewford's this weekend. Just wanted to go ahead and say a quick word before we drop this week's podcast. Thanks, guys. All right, guys, this is the deep in the hunt of Texas podcast. I am your host, Connor Little.

This week we got a little different episode. We're not going to really have an interview. This is going to be a semi reoccurring series on the podcast. This is just going to be a hangout. It's literally, we're calling it the hang. So I don't know if we're going to do a logo change or what for it, but you know, hang a tree stand, hang out, it's all all the same thing. First cast, first victim, he's been on the podcast before ladies and gentlemen. He hails from parallel in Texas, weighing in at 135 pounds soaking wet at five foot nine. We have Curtis Sam's also known as Bob Kurt Daddy what's going on? That was a nice, I mean, I like that, here we go, no, I like that, I like that. We can tell the people how you're doing, like, we're good, we're good, we're great, baby. God, working a lot, drinking a little, couple, couple, couple, couple, couple of cold

beers. What? What? Had one beer, two beers, whiskey, anyways, anyways, far going off on a stone cold, ramble here. We have our second victim, new to the podcast, new to the deep into a lot of Texas universe. We have Jeff Rowe can't stop making sounds on his computer, Elliot, what's going on, Jeff? What's up, dude? Happy to be here. I'm not happy to talk to Curtis, but I'm happy to be on the podcast. Yeah. I was talking to Justin tonight. I think I was honestly second guessing tonight, but we're here, you know, I, you know, as much as I like to lie to people and tell y'all y'all are my friends, it's, it's pretty miserable sometimes. I just, y'all just had to put me up to it. Your parents pay us, what are you talking about for a long time. It's pretty good to be your friend and deal with you and tell you what, look, here's

the thing is, I don't actually have any friends. I just happen to inherit a ranch I can hunt on and that just comes with people who want to, what a, that just comes with the vultures. That's what it calls just the vultures that hang around waiting on the corpse to die. You know, one of these days, Jeff will find a hunt in spot and I look forward to that day. Even when we're doing public land, I mean, I guess, I guess you did find, uh, that spot on Ray Roberts, but as, as many people know, there's a lot on Ray Roberts. I introduce you to Justin Hearst, um, oh, okay, you didn't introduce me to Justin Hearst. She just took me down there. Okay. What do you call introducing somebody to something? I think he introduced you to it. Okay. It's real quick. Like, if you walk into a bar and your buddy's got a friend and he's there because your buddy, that would be an introduction, right? It's, I agree and it's just like Jeff introduced me to you. You know, that's an, that's an introduction. So really, if you think about it, I found everybody hunting spots.

I might not own the hunting spots, but I found them. Uh, well, I won't hold my breath. We'll put it that way. Speaking, speaking of hunting spots, I'm, I'm itching to get out to the ranch. I, uh, I, after, after the last spot, I guess I kind of got a little fired up tried to turkey and I think this might be the year I should try and take one for, for, for better for worse, if we can find them. Um, they were going crazy. It was real hunting with me when we were duck hunting and they were just going crazy, um, goblin and stuff. Or was that with, uh, Jeff, are you there? No, but I've been at the ranch before and heard him buying the house and then I think it was last year. I was, I was over in the pipeline and they were, they were there. I saw three or four and then I've also seen him over at Billy before. Yeah. I don't know. They're kind of, they're transient. If you can, you can hear him, it's hard to see him. I wish, I wish Curtis.

It's actually like Curtis, actually, you hear, hear him from a mile away. You see, you see Gap and bumping him, go see your wide ass a mile away, too. Yeah, you sure can go in the dark down here. It's, it's, it's, uh, February. Let me get a little sun here. Come on. I didn't play golf. You don't get sunbed. He just gave her a head. Oh, so long, dude. That, that, we get shade darker. That is disrespect. It's like you get, I get a little, uh, some bats in there. Okay. Okay. Okay. All right. Well, is it going to take you to some Squidward? I mean, handsome, uh, Shrek, uh, with the beard shade a little bit, with the beard shade. Dude, when I would, uh, in college, I would clean shave and, uh, I'd grow my hair out a little bit when I had hair. And, uh, Jeff would say, I looked like Ellen the generous. He did. He very much said, did there's one picture where it's bad.

It's real bad God forbid a guy trying to, you know, get a little lotion on his face. My God. My card. I'll find it. I'll send it to you. Yeah. Let me shoot. I have a lot of work to do today when I could when you're hefty, hefty and, uh, you had long curly hair and I was like, damn. Oh, Dude, I think it was like 2018. I was about 260 with hair halfway down my neck. I was Big boy, Big, I look like the old SAS watch around the woods. No, you look like a fucking heifer run into the woods. You're okay. Okay. Okay. You, you want to start that game? Hey. If you want to start that game, it's OK. If we're going to take the gloves off, just let me know. And we can get down and roll in the mud. I'll tell you who was big ins in the last way. And he started gliding on water. It was bare. He started gliding. Big boy. And then the next year, gliding.

Dude, was it, didn't one time Josh and Bear, they did like a 10 mile challenge or something like that? Just randomly. It was just off the rip. It was like a random Tuesday afternoon. And they were like, I'll bet the other one $100. I can't run 10 miles. And neither one I've had to run in like six months. And they both all of a sudden you're getting snapchat videos. Five miles in. I think Josh did it. And then Bear gave up. Josh just did it off the rip. You got to respect that. I think Bear got like seven miles in. And it was like, nah. I can't run two miles right now. It could not be deep enough to get to seven to 10. I mean, yeah, that's, if dude, if I was seven, maybe I was giving him credit. Maybe it was three or four. I don't remember. I kill over at about a half mile. Yeah, you got to lug around the calves. You're just stuck in low forward the entire time lug nuts.

Yeah. You can't unhitch the wagon. That's why you get so pain. You got them solar, solar panels behind your legs. It just sucks up all the vitamin D. But who knows, man, who knows? All right. So we're going to have a couple topics here today. And we'll just kind of see where they go. They're more, I would say they're less topics, more prompts. I might throw a couple random ones at some people, or I guess y'all. Just to kind of catch off guard and make you all work on your feet. But first thing we're going to start with is what's in the bag? What's in the hunting bag? This is a very popular golf thing, as far as what is in your bag as far as what golf clubs you have. And I'm going to keep talking about golf in here. But we're going to do five things. Just a list. What's in your hunting bag? Do either of y'all want to volunteer?

Do y'all want me to rip it off here? I know Curtis didn't prepare, so he's going to have to take a little time to think about it and don't want him to hurt himself too hard. Can't prepare it. Do you have any volunteers? Yeah. I'm volunteer. Oh, oh, Jeff wrote. OK. How much of a slight job does this? But I guess not. First thing, I feel like I always have it zip ties. No particular brain zip ties, no free sponsors. Solid answer. There's always a knife of some sort. I feel like that's a good one. Tylenol, Tylenol Tums. Somebody's always probably had too long of a night before. Never fails. You get the shooting time and Kurt's like, oh, I'm going to throw up and boom over. Oh, bullshit. Oh, it's a crazy knife. I have a little cure for him there.

I don't know. In the duck hunting bag, there's always the old, you know, the old six-month-old natty light at the bottom of the bag that just somehow snuck him there. That's always a good one. And then I don't know. Probably I do like having a flashlight. I don't use it. I always forget I have it, but I always have it in there. That's how you know that. Do you say flashlight? Flash a flashlight? Oh, not the other one. That's in my bag on stairs. Whoa, that's taking Timbertow to the next level there, Jack. Let me stand. Don't worry about that one. Would you say the other day, people get in the trots? Oh, yeah, that's one. That's one that always stays locked and loaded as a toilet vapor because of getting never fails. You get about shooting time and somebody's like, oh, dude, it's rumble. It's got to go, dude. And it's never fun, you know, but you got to have the toilet paper or the wet wipes of some kind.

Dude, I don't think I've ever liked golf, which it's not often. I hate taking a shit in the woods. I hate it. I hate it more than, you know, I hate Curtis when he drinks too much whiskey. We don't do all. But in all seriousness, I hate shit in the woods. And it's not often. But every time I do, it is just a complete mess. It's just soggy, swamped autumn. One of these days, I just want to go out in the woods and squat. I'm talking like I need a one, two wiper and get out of there. But I just don't know if it's the 87 oatmeal cream pies or the Walmart brand girls' cookies that are getting me or what, but I'm going to figure out something there. Or just drinking Diet Coke and nothing else. Diet Coke is good for you. It's good for highly fiber. Keeps your regular. A lot of probiotics in there. Yeah. Curtis, say hello.

Do you need some time for me to go? I go. Well, I mean, just name damn near my whole bag. But I do got one that I like. So I do got one that I like this, a meat stick. I got to have some kind of like jerk you would then go, oh, hey, yo, yo, like a slim gym. Something like that in the bag for a snack. I have a kitchen. You're calling it? I mean, you know what I mean, jack. So all I heard is I need a meat stick in jacks. That's not off to it. It's going to be hard to defend you in court. They're big dogs. Yeah, we'll have the knife. We do have a headlamp, always a headlamp. No cucumbers, no cucumbers, magnums and coconut oil. You know what we do. We like your regular.

That's why it's what it's what it's like. Why do you think I go so easy out in the woods? Yeah. Why do you think I'm a two wiper? Come on. Pushed shit. I hadn't had to do that years. Up like a flows, baby. Hey, y'all, you know, oh, oh, that's what's that number three knows. I think that the volume might actually kill those like I think it filters out the voice which kind of things. Um, wait, are we counting? Wouldn't we start counting had a bear? One bear. Two bears. One and a half. You know, three bears. Can I get a hell? Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, like I'm happy to admit I'm the world's biggest lightweight. I was at one to a Mexican joint in love a class night and had one big draft beer and I was like, whoa, whoa.

I had to kind of hang out there for a little bit. I was, you say feeling correct. Yeah. You're making me spit my diet coke out. That's funny. Feeling correct. Kurt, you got anything else in the bag? Probably not. I mean, we always got, you know, like a grump call or a duck call if we're in duck hunting. So I always have those. Just in case you never know, because sometimes when I hear somebody else call, not speaking of not saying any names, but it sometimes sounds like something's dying, you know what I mean, instead of coming in and like, let's get them in here, it sounds like, you know when somebody throws a football and it looks like a duck, but it doesn't quite like one, that's what it kind of sounds like. And so that's when that happens, I like to pull them out, you know what I mean? Can you give me a specific instance when you've had to pull them out?

I mean, all the time, I mean, what are you two do you mean? It's not in stock, you know, that's why we used to see you to go get the ducks and then we tried to pull out the call. Oh, okay. Okay. Look, I know I have a reputation of telling people to, I kind of, I don't even have to say anything anymore. Somebody starts calling, I kind of give that a head turn down the blind and people just go, put them right back down. Don't touch them when they're reconnors in the blind. Yeah. Hey, Mr. Prost out of here. All right. Here. Hey, I've loosened up a little. I've loosened up when I was like six, seven, eight years ago when I was on Prost out with that God awful duck company or duck call company, I was, I was, you know, maybe not the kindest of people that got on their, you just have to call me me, you know,

no, never, never, I'm easy to get along with, not particular at all, don't have, have nothing like that at all. Prince, no, no, I don't know, you got anything else in the bag? Zip size, I was always, always, always a pin, always going to keep it as well. A pin. What kind of pin, like the pinjamin? Come on, we'll keep that right here, you know what I mean? Keep that in house. Don't let it get out. Okay. And now this, no, this, no, this is not police over here. Uh, oil is toilet, toilet tree, but now I pack light, bullets, extra bullets because I've, I've ran out of some bullets because you can't shoot, not just because I see so many. I don't know. Curtis has, Curtis has two beers in the stand and thinks he's Chris Kyle, I hear someone about 750. Oh, I got it. He's gone. Did I hit him? Did I get him? Be down. Be down?

Is he down? Is he down? Oh, dude, that's still my favorite hunting clip. I think maybe of all time. That's a good one. And he's such a fruitcake too, it's so fun. Bro, bro, hold on, hold on, there will be zero, zero Luke Bryan Slater out of this podcast. Bro, Luke Bryan, like 20, or 2010, 2009, bro, tailgates and tan lines was the best albums ever brought out. Buckley Creek Water, where you can't tell me Buckley Creek Water doesn't go hard. Banger of a song. What's that other one? You sound like a girl that went to A&M. Mm-hmm. Hi. Once again, I'm cultured and you're not starting to show. You like that other song, Connor, the one about Country Boy, Shake It from me or whatever?

Good song. Someone you always say. I, I'll throw a little ass, I ain't scared. I'll shake it for you. I'm, I'm mad enough to have a little boogie. I ain't scared. But yeah, no, Luke Bryan, it was hard. Sorry, if y'all want to call me gay, don't care. There's, there's facts and there's fiction, that's facts. I will say though, I did have to revert on Florida, Florida, Georgia line. I like them when I was in high school and they stink. Yeah, not good. See, I used to really like them too, I'm not gonna lie. Fuck yes. I really, I really love it. There's this one, I don't want it. Yeah, I went to the Houston rodeo and I saw their concert and they walked on the bottom, they came out and they were right by us and they like, you know, dab just up through beer with the drunk beer at the, oh yeah. So like, you know, you kind of, well, first of all, y'all are boys, do you ever text them? Yeah, we talk all the time.

Yeah, we talk about Measureum or? Yeah, I know how big, I know how much it hangs, you know. I, dude, this is what I've realized too, like, but I've not gone to the Houston rodeo a few times, not as much as y'all, obviously, but I think it's so underrated. I've realized this as a get older. I don't want to go to a concert for three hours. Like, I don't want to see openers. I don't want to see, you know, even time in three hours, like five hours. I don't want to see openers. I don't want to see like your set going forever. I want to go on to the rodeo, watch the rodeo, and I want to see somebody get up. I want the hits. I don't want like some new music that you just came out with that nobody's heard. I want you to come in. I want you to play eight to 12 songs of bangers. I want to get in. I want to get out. I don't need all this extra like fluff cover acoustic. I'm going to talk for 20 minutes. Like, hit me with the good stuff. Let me go home.

I like that. No, I'm ready. I'm going to have to come down for the ready this year. Yeah, come down. Who do you want to see? There's a, I don't even know why not. It's not, I mean, it's not crazy, but it's all right. There's a couple of people. Are you a rascal flat fan? No, god, no, that's terrible. I fizzle, you don't know. No, the rascal flat is awful. I want to get through a rascal flat concert on the radio one time. I wouldn't tell people that. I want to pick them up from Dallas and give them away. They didn't even sell them. They didn't even sell them. Let's see, who is the Houston, Houston radio lineup? We're going to do a little research for easily stuff that's fun online. I think Riley Green opens. Riley Green does open. I don't know how I feel about Riley Green. What? He's got some good songs. He can't really play guitar and he can't really sing. And unfortunately, I think he might be famous

because he's just incredibly good looking. I mean, he can't hate the man for it. Oh, there is rascal flats. That's a, hey, guys, I got it. We can go see Lizzo. I think that's, I mean, you might have to keep Curtis from around the stage. It's how he likes them. Oh, no, it's like I like my go comes there. Just like I like my coffee. Hey, now, dude, dude. Oh, Luke Ryan, hey, now, Monday, March 9th, I'll be there. You going? Actually, actually, Tuesday, March 10th, Megan Maroney's going to be there. I will be there for that. Oh, I'm going to. Creed, okay, that's a good one. Chris Stapleton, Shabuzie, and Kelly Clarkson, and. Skip right over Dwight Yokem. Dwight Yokem does have some mayors. Yeah, I can't.

I was just expecting them. It's cross-Canadian ragweed back, like back back. Yeah, they're, they're performing. I didn't leave each other, but they're always like back. You know, the one step goes on a better. I actually, dude, one time I was a general friend in Austin. Get this on my hand or what's wrong with you. That's, you know, he gets a little too, like, I'm sober. And I'm going to church now, and then just like he gets too in too quick. It means you get, hey, when someone goes like hard course sober like that, all of a sudden, they go out as quick as they came in, you know, it's like Josh Hamilton. All of a sudden, he's like, I'm sober. I'm not doing meth anymore. And all of a sudden, he's at a bar looking, wouldn't scream off some girls' tits. And that's all said and done there. And then the second time around, man, it was like, or I guess it was really like the third or fourth time around with him, it was like, I feel like for three months every week, it was like, oh, here's Josh Hamilton

in the news for something, and it was like, dude. Well, dude, then his wife, and he's going to have the worst wife ever, ex-wife. And like she left him after he got all that money from the angels. And then she ended up on some like reality show about like older women, dating younger men. And she's like, dating some like 22-year-old. And she's like 47. And I'm like, which honestly, I thought about it. I'll respect the 22-year-old. We got to secure that ranch. Oh, I'm sorry. Somehow, we're going down to the nursing home. Curse is going to go knock the dust off of it. Make sure his name's in the wheel, call him Anodicole Kurt. Oh, my goodness. We got off real off topic off Houston rodeo there, real fast. Red clay strays. Dude, the problem is, the whole topic on the Houston rodeo

goes right back to it. Hey, I got, well, I'm cheering the boat here. I'm cheering the boat here. We'll just back. We hit a couple rollers, we're bouncing up now. Hey, now. You got your hat still? Everybody hang on. Dude, honestly, I was in on co-wetzel. I was out on co-wetzel. I would like to officially announce I am back in on co-wetzel. He is, his last album is new single. The man cannot miss right now. His last few releases have been pretty good. Like, I don't know. He's got it, he's got it dialing. Cost of Migos is like one of my favorite songs ever. I like Nine Lives. That's an awesome back home. Oh, how does that just do? Yeah, well, listen to Tredio Crevival. Yeah, oh yeah, they're good. Yeah, I didn't come across them to like three or four

months ago and it's out of it. The old T-man Trevor Hughes shout out. He's the one that put me on the Tredio Crevival. They're very good. After co, there's Laney Wilson. I would like to be officially in the Laney Wilson is not hot club. There's no way she actually talks like that. I'm sorry. It's like that I know a fake accent when I hear it. Did you see that one? She did the real action or like that was her real voice. Yeah, I was like, I'm Laney Wilson. I'm out here on the interview here and I play country music and then there's no way you sound like that. Sorry. I don't believe it for two seconds. Is like, she used to have a hunky-tonk. No, it's like, what would happen, too? That was 20th comments I've ever seen on Instagram. My life was, it was a picture of her at a concert.

Somebody said, dang, you got to pay taxes on two counties with that thing. Oh my god. Another good one, Parker McCollum. He's fine. I would like to hang out with Parker McCollum versus actually listen to some of his new music. I listen to a podcast with him and he's like, oh, I hate the limestone kid. Like his first songs, but his first album is still to this day, certified bangers only, no misses at all. Tim McGraw, oh, and here's someone who has fallen out of my graces. Who is my favorite for years? Cody Johnson. He's coming back, though, with some good ones. Is he? He's got like a couple of two. There's like two other people that you're playing in a two,

right? Dude, me and my kind, who's like, yeah, he's got like Randy Hauser and John Party, maybe? OK, yeah, John, I like, OK, I fuck with John Party. John the days. Oh, yeah, it does. Heavy, heavy, heavy. Oh, the John Party gets me going. Is that song going to be there again this year? No, is that topstinks? Oh, sorry. He's, look, I'm sorry. He's too talented to be doing like some Alan Jackson rip off. His last album, they came out. Eh, no thanks. We should move off using Keyes and Sarah Luzon, listeners and followers. Yeah, let's look up to this. No, no, no, no, no, no. Alan, so look Brian's good. Zach Thompson.

Look, Brian Good. Zach, learn. Hey, no. Look, I don't, there's, there's right and wrong. You might not like it, but that's just the way it is. See, that's your problem. That's your fucking problem. You know who one of the best Houston rodeo concerts I've ever gone to was old, old, like second year out, Zach Brown Band. Oh, dude, I've been to one of those. I saw the back of the day of concert. Between the fiddle player for Zach, Zach Brown Band and the fiddle player for Turnpike, they get after it. It's worth going to see just to watch them. And it's weird because they all make the same face. So they're always playing the fiddle and they're like, dude, vinegar, vinegar strokes, like, yeah. The fillers are always pretty crazy though. Let's get into it. I always wonder, like, is that, is that an act? Like, are they pulling a Laney Wilson there? Is that like, they're so into the music that that's really how they're feeling in that moment?

Well, you know, that's got to make you feel a lot, you know what I mean? Like, in front of my eyes, you can't sing, you can't sing a word, but you can rip that little. You can't rip that motherfucker. Dude, you know who the best Fiddler is? Guy from a Randy Rogers man, Brady Black. And he like did the intro of In My Arms instead. I'll like, he just wrote it himself. That's the In My Arms instead is the greatest country music song ever written. There's another hot take for you on music. You ever heard of a neon moon? It's good. I'm not going to say neon moon isn't good. Have you ever heard of, of, uh, Casey Musgraves neon moon? Not good, not yet. That's actually one of the only ones that's the podcast guys. I just, I can't hear anymore stupid shit. She could get it every way till Sunday. I'm telling you, uh, I'm just saying on that, on that album,

Red Dead Road with Cody Johnson, better than the original. Yes. A couple of the other ones better than the original neon moon. Right. Not better than the original. No, neon moon's not better than the original. Like, it's a Casey Musgrave song. It's not like, it's, it becomes a Casey, and like, it was the totally different arrangement. Obviously, there's a lot of the different. A little space cowboy, Casey Musgraves. Oh, dude. That's good. That's good song. Uh, uh, space cowboy goes hard. That's, uh, what is the, uh, all right, Kurt, what's the best country song of all time? Connor said in my arms and said, uh, I mean, that's, I don't got an answer. Yeah. That's a hard question. Jeff, Jeff, give me a little top three, give me a little top three, Kurt, I like neon moon a lot. Let's go back a little more and you've got crazy, you know, you got the ones where they're

just. I mean, you got Conway, you know, to me, what are we talking? Ooh, a little Conway. He's underrated, dude. Oh, you know, I recognize him with that, with the best of him, but man, he's underrated. I don't know, dude. Like, there's some, Alan Jackson's got some absolute barriers to it. Like Eddie Bitty. Eddie Bitty. You're like, you're very slow down with drive. Drives a good song. Drive a great song. Drive a great song. Drive a great song. Drive a great song. Drive a great song. Drive was wise. 18. 18. It's just like opera color singing entire album Jackson's song. We don't have a jam session one day on here. Honestly. Dude, I want you all to come up. I want you all to come up before it worth. Jeff, I need you get free from the wife and kids. So when you go to this bar off Camp Bowie called Sarah's place on Friday night, it's a karaoke bar. It is a riot. It is a riot. I love a good karaoke bar.

I'm going to put out the song is about Sarah's place. No, there's no way. Kurt's feature on that song. Wait, I don't get it. Kurt's from the side looks like Noah Gondon freaks me out every time I see it. He was a little side profile Kurt. No. I got an elbow hanging out of my fucking face. So does he. Come on. Come on. Thank you. Oh. Speaking of best songs, Broken Windows, Sarah named. That's a good one. That's a banger. I give us a little, dude, I don't really know any. Kurt is, I can only say something about it because I also have the old beat as well. Yeah. Just say when we go to break ice, when we're done kind of you just send me Kurt out there and one and it's all out. I have. I have y'all be my turkey decoys and have Jeffrey Mount Curtis or the surf boy, bros.

Jesus. I don't know. Top three. What is that vodka vodka? Keila. Oh. Here. Here. Here. Kurt, I know you haven't seen it in a time, but oh, O'Connor used to, he used to get down, dude. Oh, here's the thing. Y'all. At first. At first we did. At first? No. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't see it. No, y'all didn't. And he's six blood like platinum's in and you know, in some rounds. Awesome. No. Dude, there was, there was a time. There was a time. See like, happened. Dude, I got, well, I don't like, I don't know. I think there's a combination of things is like, I, there's me and a guy who was my roommate brother brother Trevor Hughes.

And we were bar rats for about two years. I mean, could not stay out of the fridge up in North Texas. You always been a rat. Oh, yeah. You look like one. You know, fucking munch on some cheddar for me. You talk about, you know, cheddar cheese, you're rat. Cheddar cheese. We brought up meat stick. Yeah, you brought up meat stick. He didn't quit, dude. That was the first thing, like, so you don't have a snack in there possibly. And if we go, I knew, I knew, it's not a jerky stick. Some kind of meat. No, you're jerking the meat stick. I know what you were saying. I'm just, it's been a while since I heard somebody refer to it as a meat stick. Most people say like, wow, maybe a slim gym or something along those lines, but you just hit us with out of the, out of the gate meat stick. What is it? I mean, that's a fucking slim gym.

That's pretty, you know, no, no, I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. It's just one of those things like, you know, what came first, the chicken or the egg, you were wrong. I don't know what you're saying. You're wrong. No matter what it is, you're wrong. Well, I'm not still that anytime Curtis talks and Bowie now, I don't care what you have to say. You're wrong. It's like the chicken or the egg. You're wrong. Oh, God. What were we saying before that? I lost my train. It's not here. You're lucky if I come back up because I don't know if I'm home. Oh, really? You're right here. You're lucky. You let you back up. Oh, yeah. Hey, we all know people's attitudes in the friend group can change real quick and I'm one of them. Yeah. Dude, that text about, man, I thought I shot that forky book. Dude, I was so tired.

So I was at this wedding. It was my cousin's wedding. I drove from Bowie, Texas to Fredericksburg and one day went to the wedding, drove back. I took an edible before the wedding. Huge mistake. Huge mistake. I was fighting for my life. People were talking to me before the ceremony and I'm like, it wasn't like fun. It was like, I'm about to have a panic attack and I was like sweating through my suit and it's like 30 degrees outside and this freezing, freezing outdoor wedding in the middle of December and then I get this text from Curtis and it's like, all it says, there's no picture nothing. I fucked up and I'm like, what do you mean, you fucked up? It's in the group, it's like an all I see is a picture of some deer that's not legal has a little like two year old seven point and I'm like, you got to be fucking kidding

me. Hey, look, it happens to everybody. There's been a few scrubs I had one a couple years ago. It happens. I think that's so bad. It's funny. We'll be in a minute. It was the same year that I think you did it and one other had the year before or something so it was like. We had a run where me, Josh and Bear all had a little a little whoopsie days. These are last light. Well, Bear's wasn't at last light. Bear's just bears. Bear's just a broad daylight. Bear's just broad daylight that a bigger bump comes in and starts pouring his dead little Mickey. Hey, look, it happens to the best of us. I've heard of like professional hunters who like went up to Canada and do it accidentally shot a two year old eight point. He had paid a bunch of money for it and like, uh, imagine that. That's stink, but Curtis sends me text and sure enough, there was this four, there was this four corner. We were trying to get him to shoot. We don't let shoot Curtis shoot anything more than six points and do it.

It's over the six points or eight and a half years or older around the decline. They give you school hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall hall and To heard that that deer was like look like, uh, that dear Curtis shot was like. Uh, what's the dude from Family Guy? Uh Herbert the pervert. Uh, you as well sweat, round on a Walker, Officerstight. ney şubrade. Hey. Now you all trying to fat. The right when the wentu to come in here boy, you say? Do you want to come in here, boy? Come with me some. I can't whistle when I talk like that. So I don't think I did my what's in the hunting bag. I would like to go. We all allow that. You're the host, man. I'm fucking good. I'm just here for a day and some extra toasty cheeses. Are we really gonna eat on the podcast? Although some cheeses sound so good. We're not. That should be your bagstack.

What's the bag? Some meats, digs, and cheeses. What's your bag of meats, digs, cucumber, magnums, some a p-ditty special edition. Maybe we'll have some tanks. Can I go? You're gonna steal my binoculars. Some binoculars. Here it goes. We're giving the most basic like stuff. I got a 20 piece. I got a 20 piece. One of these coming his nose, Jammer. Oh, yeah. See, y'all went to like vanilla. Or whatever it's called. A zonix is definitely called a zonix, a zonix. I think y'all missed the spirit. Because y'all are like, oh, what are you gonna hunt with? A gun, a camouflage. You don't need to bring an extra jacket. All right, so I'll go and I'll be the one who's gonna entertain us since the entertainment failed. Please do. First thing, first thing about Diet Coke, you know,

if you don't like, what's the saying from Ricky Bobby? If you don't like Big Red, fuck you. If you don't like Diet Coke, fuck you. Number one, and I've put all y'all on it. Y'all used to give me so much shit. You drink so much Diet Coke. Everyone I ever meet is like, oh, you don't like Diet Coke that's gross. It tastes like chemical in a cans. All of a sudden, month later. Hey, I just bought a 12 pack of Diet Coke that shit's pretty good. And I'm like, thank you. I've been trying to tell y'all. It's good for you. Asking you to not get me on the show. You didn't get me on Diet Coke either, so let's put that out there first, so. We'll see. He's not gotten you on it yet. I see Bear sneaking whatever once in a while. Jeff will get in there. I like Diet Coke, but I try to get a, let's see, all lady downstairs, they got me on it, dude. I used to be a Dr. Feffer guy,

I'll only Dr. Feffer. Me and Leah might be in the competition for who likes Diet Coke more. I remember when you had Brooks, I said Diet Coke to the hospital. Dude, I want to put y'all on that thing. We're like, you can't see what type of Diet Coke it is. And see who gets more of them right. We should do that Saturday. I don't have anything going on. Bring Sam over. We'll, we'll, we'll go through all the, all the, what's, what's around you? McDonald's Chick-fil-A, 7-Eleven. We can do, I want to do one that's like fast food places. And then I also want to do one that's like bottle, can, bigger can. I think you mix them all together. Two liter, yeah, that's what you do and then you put the straw over and you can't see it. Three fast food places and then, ooh, yeah. I could, I'll crush the fast. I honestly got, I won't get one wrong. But I know best way, but like best ways to do Diet Coke is.

So we found you, you go get Diet Coke at different places. You get like five different kinds of Diet Coke. And you put it, you put them like in a box with a straw coming through them where they can't see what they're drinking. And they drink it and they've got a guess like it's out of a can. It's out of a bottle. So like you're blind? Yeah, I bet. I bet Conor could crush Diet Coke's. I bet I could put five shitty beers under there and curse, could take every one of them. Hey, you know what's OG though is Dr. Pepper over Diet Coke any day of the week. I like Diet Dr. Pepper out of the can by the Diet Coke out of the can. 100%. Little DPs good. Chick-fil-A's got to get Dr. Pepper. Chick-fil-A's sweet tea has gone downhill so much. Chick-fil-A's gone downhill so much. Did they get the antibiotic chicken? Yeah. I used to get some girthy chicken sandwiches from there. And now it's just like a little bit of patty,

a bunch of crisps, it's awful. Yeah, the first six bites to get to the bun used to be the extra chicken around the end. Now you gotta fight halfway through the bun to get a decent chicken. Popeyes probably has the best chicken sandwich still problem is you gotta wait 35 minutes for it. Or they have, it's like room temperature Popeyes. If you can get Popeyes fresh, it's the best chicken place. Not even close. I agree. Problem is is half the time I go to Popeyes, it's first of all they have the best spicy in the game period. And if you go to Popeyes and half the time they give it to your room temperature. And I'm like, I don't, I wouldn't be honest with you. That chicken expressed we have the other day. Might have been some of the best chicken I've had. That's the best spicy chicken. No, no. It's good chicken. It's good chicken. What's better? Popeyes spicy chicken. Popeyes spicy fresh is the best spicy in the game. Not even close.

It's not, it's just how it is. No, I gotta disagree. Of course you do. I'd say the sky's blue. It'd be like, no, it's green. God, anyways, back to my bag, diet coke. It's in the bag every time without fail. Second thing, only eat them during hunting season. I only eat them when I'm in love lady or booey. oatmeal cream pies. Yeah, you'd be fucking 375 pounds if you only eat them dude, there's a demon inside of me. A demon that I've only let out a few weeks of the year. I'm black out when I have one. And then I just like come to and I'm like sweaty and hot. And you know, it's really amazing. They're like, what are you doing Connor? Like what's going on? And I'm like, what? And so you just ate nine of those in a row. And I'm like, huh? Which is, which just happened? I didn't. I'm like, I'm doing it on the ranch and all of a sudden

you just hear in the kitchen and then you hear to get about three minutes later. Can you look over here another? You ever watching him eat one of them? I don't think I've ever seen somebody. Hey, this is how Connor eats them right here. He goes opens them and he takes a bite and you can tell. It's like he thinks it is a five star meal. He sits there and goes like this to eat them. He just goes, he just goes, he just goes. And it's just slow chew and then like, it'll swallow and be like and look at it for the next piece. Hey, yo, hey, yo, it's hilarious. Yo, I give it like spicy mexico. Hey, he's plowing through chips for the green fives. He's saving every second. Dude, they're God. They're so good. They're so good.

I think my number two snack, too. They might actually be worse for me is to put these in the bag, but the Walmart Girl Scout cookies might be better than the regular ones. Also, they're $2 a box. So all you people during Girl Scout season, look, I'm sorry. This is an anti-girl Scout podcast. I don't want this racketeer going on. Yeah, I'm serious. I'm here to say the truth, whether it's hard or not. These poor girls are raking you over with chemicals that, I don't know, they're like the most car surgeon cookie for $14 a box. I can go down to Wally World. I can get a box of thin mint and peanut butter patties for $4 total. Sorry. It's just the truth. Any people in the fridge can't taste the difference. You remember when we were in college and we walked to that baths for the shop and those boy scouts were trying to sell me kettle corn. And I gave him like the, get away from me. I was like, what's wrong with you, dude? And on the way out he bought like $60 or the kettle corn

because he felt bad for him. Right, this little kid came to my door the other day and got my ass. I got two boxes of cookies and two boxes of kettle corn. Somehow it was like a hundred bucks. But like, the kid was trying to sell me and I was like, look, I'm going to try to like measure this kid and he kept like looking down. I'm like, hey, look me in the eye. Like, look me in the eye when you're talking to me. And he's like, this is all you want. And I'm like, I'm like, yeah. And he was like, turn it off. I was like, where are you going? And he's like, oh, I was, I was going to go back and I was like, are you going to shake my hand? And he's like, huh? And like, yeah, when you sell somebody something and you look him in the eye and shake their hand. Thank you. It was terrified. I'm like, you know what? If someone's not going to teach the youth of America, and I don't have any kids yet, then I know of it, please. Oh, so that's my undertaking there. As I'm going to shake him and I'm going to look him in the damn eye, make him shake my hand, say, thank you for your business, sir. You got to really respect.

They got to teach us Girl Scout some selling tactics. Hit him with like, somebody asks you for them. Ah, I don't have any with me, but I can bring some back. And then the second time you see him, you're like, I've got some thin minutes and some fresh to these peanut butter patties, boom, two sales. We know what their selling tactics is. They take the girl who's got glasses on because Coke bottles and a cast on in one place. Go, please. They got me the other day outside of my outside of breakfast place. Is it Girl Scout cookie season right now? Girl Scout's the only cookie's the other day outside of breakfast place and down. I have bought me this year. I have a few things to do. And then you look at it and you take a bite and you're like, he's pretty good. And you flip that box over. Then one of them's 190 calories on some of them. You're like, it's crazy. Dude, I polish off a box those things. Then you use four or five more rows of them. You know what it's all about?

What's your favorite? It's easy answer for me. It's thin minutes and peanut butter patties tag along. But like in Dallas, it's weird because there's a dividing line where what, it's like 360. And like four or side of town, they're like peanut butter patties and it's a different manufacturer. They're not as good. Yeah, you go certain places, you know, certain places you can buy thin minutes and then I don't know the name of the other one, but it's like mint thins or something. It's weird. Walmart. I tried this one. That was like a cracker with the cream on top of it. Like a white cream. Isn't that what they call it in college? This is the worst one you're going to do. But I can't remember what the cookies are called, but doesn't it? I'm going to keep going.

You'll talk about turning red. What? You only give me shit about turning red. Here I go. Doesn't you know what shows I'm talking about? I just got introduced to him probably last year before underrated one of the lemon ones. I like the stuff. Lemon anything dessert is gross. Speaking of, do you remember back in the day? And your fuck. Do you remember back in the day when Chick-fil-A had lemon ice box pie? No, $285. Well, y'all are ball-knowers. It was like in high school. That was my pre-game meal before basketball. I would get 12 count nuggets, fries, lemon ice box pie. I'm not going to lie, that sounds so good. Dude, lemon ice box pie. Honestly, underrated list of desserts is pie. You get a good lemon ice box pie, good key lime pie. Bro, key lime pie is terrible.

Any I'm sorry, but a dessert is meant to be not fruity. And I'll go to the grave on that one. I don't want a key lime pie. I don't want a lemon pie. Do you like a real collochie? Like not. Like a fruit collochie? No, I don't want a fruit on the tea. I like a real collochie. But I will tell you, I've had a cookies and cream collochie and it was good. But again, the reason it was good, because it had chocolate. What kind of man-made horror is that? You bought them? Did I? Yeah. On the way down to Austin, and then they sat in the truck and baked while we played golf for five hours. And we got in there hungry as hell. And that thing was like, it was fresh out of the microwave. Oh, dude, dude. I like the cream cheese collochie. Just nothing but cream cheese and collochie. It's hard to beat. But the, okay, Jeffrey Dahmer. What the fuck? What's wrong with cream cheese collochie?

Just show me it. Fucking cheese collochies. Yeah, you ever get a, uh, what's it called? Donut shop? The ones that have the cream in it? The Curtis? No, I don't have you back in the day. What do they call that thing? We're like, you pick it out and then they ask you, yeah, and they ask you a flavor you want. That's so aggressive the way they do it. I'm just where I've seen some little lady in there with two hands. Just shove it on there. And all I can hear is like that one. The sound of that guy who's like, oh, Lord Jesus, I'm about to bust. Can I take donuts to get some guys tomorrow too? I might have to grab me and you clear. Walk it. Hey, can I get, can I get the Curtis? Connor takes somebody to a donut shop and orders it and I clear and just looks at it and like, welcome to the fucking show.

Dude, nothing's better than bear walks into it. The donut shopping. Stop, stop. No, we're telling the story. So we have one of our really good buddies is a quarter Korean. But you can't really tell. You wouldn't know. We go walking to the buoy donut shop there off of a 101 or 81 I can't remember. Whatever the drag is, it's spicy next to all that's on. He walks in. Worst, we stay in the truck. Hey, now and me, Josh and Jeff are sitting in there. Obviously, we know what kind of people run donut shops. Same kind of people that run dry cleaners. massage parlors, you know, you know where I'm going with this. And bear walks out and gets the truck. He doesn't say anything. There's got a few extra notes in there. We're like, dude, what's going on? Turns over and looks at Jeff and goes. It's like they fucking know.

He said, I swear they know. I swear they know. And he's got like three like, you know, whenever you get a big order, they give you like a bag of donut holes. Now they gave him like six extra collaches and six donuts. And he was like, I swear they know. Cleaned out. Stereo. Korean power. Korean power. Jesus. No wonder he's so good at baseball. Or Bacarot. There's this people at the Bacarot table and knows what they're saying. Dude, I know what they're saying. The mold ladies talking shit. That language universal. You get told too. Dude, I swear to y'all. I swear to y'all one of the ladies that's been at the Bacarot table. I saw the gym the other day and we made eye contact and I was like, it's kind of hard to say. Did she hit you with like the, was it, did she acknowledge you?

Yeah, like it was, it was like an acknowledge, but it was like a, I've seen you before. You know, like that kind of deal. And I was like, respect. Guys at banker player. It's funny. I just think Bacarot was the most complicated game. Although some of the draw rules get a little weird. Or I don't know what's drawn or what. Yeah, it depends on what table you're at, but sometimes I get, oh, sorry. Sometimes I get confused on what we're standing on. Like this, I can't remember if like player stands on four or five or banker stands on four or five. Like when it gets to that, I'm like, oh, shit, I can't remember. The first time I played it, they, they did something funky and I was doing the math. And it was like my second hand. I was playing with Curtis's money. Um, and I lost and I got all excited. I thought I won and they're like, no, you lost. And I was like, what the? And so I, anyways, I quit playing and then I downloaded an app on my phone.

So I understand a little bit better now. Hey, that's really the best way to learn those games. Dude, get a little app on your phone. Play the phone. The problem is I go on my phone. I went about 25 Gs and some virtual credits. And I walked like a scene on like I can own it. Dude, on some of those, like those games, I'm like an athlete. You play Blackjack, Boxer X and everything. I lose my ass off in, in Boxer hot. But I, dude, I've, I've taken the developers for everything they have. Blackjack. Yeah. And you know, hey, dude, I like, dude, the only thing with Blackjack is I swear to you. If I go play a $10 table, I just rake and then I go play a $100 table. And I it's cooked in about five hands for sure. And I've done that. Boxer up to a couple big hands didn't go away. A couple of times, a couple of times in a row lately.

Good Lord. Nothing like just lighting that stack of money on fire. Is it? Dude, I walked in there last time because I was up in Gainesville. I had some money in my pocket and I put a bunch of money on banker. And I sit down. I'm just like, I'm just playing one hand. He goes, okay, let's go turns over. Natural eight for player. And I'm like, you gotta be funny. Like that is an ass kicker right there. Oh, well, what else in my bag? Tink 69. I wonder if they know they do it. Like, is that on purpose? Like, do we talk about that? There's children that use that stuff and they're talking about deer 69. Well, we used to go around in this. It wouldn't, this was very young. We used to put the deer together and make it look like they were doing that, but other than that, what do you mean you put the deer at what? Christmas lights.

Oh, oh, he should. I thought like he shot both and then y'all had those with him. Like, you know, I was like, you know, you're sick. You say it's a little sweet. It smells like it's real. We got a Jeffrey y'all on the page. Let me tell you that. That's a good one. What kind of Jeffrey Dahmer shitter you into? I was about to say to you, you got in Dahmer. You're the taking damage. Good God. But yeah, I keep a little tick 69 this time of year. I feel like they definitely know they did that. But it's like, what are you going to like, you can't call it like Tink's number 12. You know, like, six, seven, like what? Okay. Oh, yeah. It's over. Yeah, you're sick. No, I think they're like, you think about it though. I mean, it's catchy. Like during the run, what are they doing? You know, I, well, you see those, you see those bucks curled out? We get their lips curled. You know, a taste of it.

Dude, what's funny is whenever you're like in a stand and you see some badges rocking across the field during the run. You're like, uh, good. I poor girl. And then it goes some. Could you, could you imagine though? Like, imagine like one month out of the year. Like you said, you have no testosterone, 11 months out of the year. And then all 11 months of your testosterone starts getting dumped like a month for a time. And imagine like your testosterone, testosterone's like at 4,000. And you're just like ready to get you a little nookie. And you just, it comes to beating the shit out of your best friend. Just for like some 260 pound torta. The old is because I couldn't, that's crazy. It's so crazy how like you read and from experience and listen to other people like stuff to do whenever you're hunting. And during that time period, it's like, dude, all bets are off.

Like they do not care half the time about you being in a stand. They can smell you and they're, they do not care. They care about one thing. Yeah, definitely, definitely. I think like, I don't know. I know all everyone talks about like deer smelling you, but like, I don't know. I'm pretty rigorous, rigorous with some stuff. Um, and I don't know. I think a little nose jam or a little zonics, you can beat him a little bit. Um, but I don't know. I've had some bad hunts doing that too. Had a lot of bad hunts. I was really thinking the other day about like, what was the worst hunt? I have a few. They're mostly duck hunts. A bad duck hunt beats a bat is way worse than a bad deer hunt every day of the week. Oh, I disagree. Really? Yeah. Sorry. My computer went off again.

Good. No, I disagree. You should one rule. I feel like, I feel like a bad duck hunt. Like you kind of just accepted and it turns into like, you just sit there and bullshit with your buddies, you know? Did you remember a couple of those, uh, public land hunts at a certain spot? And I'd drag y'all back there two miles and we wouldn't shoot dick. Yeah. I don't know. A deer hunt's one of those things that feels like, you know, you can be on a real bad deer hunt. All of a sudden, it's a real good deer hunt, you know, but a duck hunt. It's like, you're having a bad hunt and then you get, you know, one single ring that flies in. You're like, oh, great. I saw a bird. That's true. It was deer hunting no matter how bad it gets. There's always the hope that any second. Yeah. I will say this. It's not in the hole in your hole and you're fucking waiters and it's about 15 degrees and the wind is blowing and your weight is also, you know, to be just a little different outlook. Yeah.

That's fair. That is true. Because that's miserable. That's the only intelligent thing you've said all night, but that is true. I've got a bunch stored up there. Uh-huh. I'm going to go back about three hundred people. I try. You know, I come down when they go down. You know what I mean? You can tell Chris is starting to feel a little bit. The hats got backwards. The eyes start to squint a little bit. There's one of these right here. He cracks another beer and he goes. Yeah, he's leading. Kurt was in the camera when we first got on it. Now he's like leaning back. Back on. Oh, wait. Hey, come on. No. Here we go. I don't know. Bad fish. And I think my Trump ball. Bad fishing. Oh, that's terrible. The worst dude. There is actually not a worst time than fishing and not catching anything. Especially here when it's hot. Like, and I'm sorry. I don't buy the bad day. Fishing's better than the office. No, it's not.

Sorry. I buy that. I don't. I don't. I'm going to make some money. I'm not catching. Yeah, I'm going to make some money. For sure. But if you're with your buddies and it's a bad day of fishing, come on. No. That's true. Actually, most of my bad days of fishing have been with my dad. If I'm going to be honest. We need to do some bass fishing though. Like, we need to come up there and do a haul. Come on, coyote. And bass fish. Yeah. We need to do a little one. Come on. Yeah. Yeah. The whole weekend. That'd be a good time. I won't be there, but I'd be a good time. Yeah. I'll be there. I'll be there Friday night. Yeah. I'll be there Friday night. I'll show up and kill something Saturday morning. I'll bounce Saturday. Mid afternoon. I might stick around for about half the evening hunt. Go bust that for 10 fucking years. Man, no kidding. What?

For 10 years. I'm taking a break. I got reload anyway. We've hunted the same weekend for five days and every time. I've come up on the same day and every year. It's like, oh, when's Jeff coming up? Listen, if I'm not one thing, it's consistent. Okay. Oh, man. And they've got to be, I mean, they've got to have a leash around that fucking feeder if you're coming up. Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't know that. But typically it's, I will say typically, like, I don't want to say call the shot. But like, we'll go out and start, you know, doing stuff, me and Connor. And I'll be like, yeah, this is the place I'm going to shoot one this year. I've been wrong. Like, I've definitely been wrong. But there's been a few years where I'm like, I don't know, like that year, you were with me. Like I said, as soon as we put that spot up, I was like, yeah, I'm going to shoot a buck here.

And I just felt it, you know, well, I mean, you're with the best guy there could be, you know, fucking son. I tend, you know, when I, when I think about that hot, I think about, remember, we couldn't find the stand. And we were so hungover. And both of us had allergies just ripping and we're like hacking up long in the deer stand. And then it was, that was rough. And then that buck walks out. Shoot him. Shoot him. I didn't know where to. I didn't know where. Yeah. That's you to shoot them. Boom. I was like, shoot him. You get, this is your only chance. Shoot him. He's about to go. Remember that? I think, I think from spotting that buck to shooting him with you was maybe 10 seconds. Oh, and maybe. So he walked past the feeder and then he came back and then he was fucking, he was about to go. Remember he kept hearing those other, there's other deer, something in the woods.

Yeah. He kept looking. Yeah. He was standing there broadside. And that's whenever you were like, but you, I mean, I was questioning it and you said, he's a shooter. See you. Hey, as hell of a call though, looking back. Looking back. Looking back. I walk up here. I walk upstairs and I've got him right. I'm like, what's going on there? Are you turning the corner? I swear he's one of those ones. Like you shoot him. And yeah, you walk up to him and you're like, that's a good deer. And then every time I walk up here, I'm like, he got bigger. He's growing. He's still going. I don't know what's in those handlers, but he's going there. Yeah. That was, that was a memorable hunt. That was a memorable weekend. We shot what? Three bucks that weekend? Yeah. Four? He shot that 10 or 12 coin or something. Yeah. Yeah. That was it. Yeah. That was, it was an eight point courier shot. No, he shot like a 10, I think.

I don't know what courier shoot whenever you were in the night. It was, it was a 10. It was a 10. Yeah. Yeah, because I, I, I kicked it off with that seven and you shot that old eight that next day. Or courier shot the 10 the next night. Morning. No. Yeah. I shot it at night and then we got to that last day and in the same hunt. You shot the eight yards out that monster. Right. Yeah. You're right. Yeah. I thought the eight was pretty cool. The hollow hordes old as she was so weird holding his antlers versus like the other ones we had killed that weekend. The weight of them. It was crazy. That was cool though. That was cool. Connor, did you show them out that deer you shot this year? Yeah. We'll see if I can get back. Yeah. We want to talk about that. Yeah. There's a certain. I want to see what a buck, a buck's antlers on a doe skull looks because your taxidermist loses your skull.

Let me know. Let me see it. Let's see it. Let's see it. Let's see it. I want to see it. That was a good deer too. It was like a seven year old deer. What deer was it? The one he shot and the one he said, I'll be in the duck line by 715. Don't wait. It wasn't there. Oh, really? Yeah. He's pretty good. I mean, he's not bad. He's missing a brow tub. Yeah, he was old. Yeah, he was old. Was he technically a six point? Not. He's seven. Seven. Yeah, here you go. I didn't see a brow time. There's one. Oh, he's got three on one side. Okay. Sorry. I didn't see a brow time. There's one. Yeah. Oh, he's got three on one side. Okay. Sorry. Yeah. I know you're not talking. I know it's corny, but I do want to shoot another seven and put it up here. And I have three of them in a row with like a picture like a slot machine underneath it. The blazing silence. I like that.

Blazing silence. I wouldn't mind a big six point. Dude, I'm so jealous of bear. Yeah. Yeah. When I drove up on it, I don't know that I've ever seen him look happier. I've never seen bear smile like that since. Not before. Not after. The dude shot a hundred and forty inch eight point. The year before, the stone cold face like shoots a hundred and six point. I feel like that's six of the reason. I don't know whenever you watch him. And then you get the opportunity and you kill one of them inside. There's something about it. Yeah. Well, I got to be honest. Bear not shoulder mounting. That eight point is the greatest tragedy of my life. Dude, we were talking about that the other day just like it had like the scars just above its eye.

The bad thing was the monster that they was awesome. The fact that we saw three of them at the same spot too. Like that is crazy. Dude, when we watched that deer walk for it felt like an hour and a half before I finally got to where he had a shot. It was like he was standing there with a bunch of dough and the size difference was just like good lord. You know, it looked like a cow was walking out in the pasture. It was awesome. That's bad ass. The only thing that would have made it better. The only thing is if he would have had to do something with that 1911 we'd give him. That would have been cool. You know, we're walking up on it and a pig runs out or something.

We're at 1911 and smokes it. Fuck that guy. No way. Fuck it. I can never get started. Yeah. I call. I'll tell you what. I'll be right back. Um, you know what I was thinking about. And I know. Y'all were against this. Where's my name phone. Is a low T activities. That might be my the next little topic here. Low T activities. Low T low test osterone. Bitch moves. I don't know. I kind of want to hear about what the three worst duck hunts you were. You said. Oh, worst hunts. Oh, dude. I got this racked up easily. Uh, number one. Uh, the guided hunt. We went on your graduation present. Terrible.

Give him what happened next day. It was awful. Yeah. Like, I'm sorry. For what they charged like back then to this was like what 20. 15. 2015. 2015. It was what 275 person. 252 75. I don't know. Yeah, we should. It was expensive enough where it was a graduation gift to take me. My buddy's on a duck. I'd not, you know, get something. Yeah. We were shooting six ducks. Five ducks. Five four or five. The breakfast was good, though. I will say that. Whatever we'll pot the man was good. The blind was stupid, though. With that little, that little kick out. That it was the throwing the. Like, I don't know. I hated it. I hated it. Uh, then they had it like a Christmas tree. Like wrapped in it. And it was like super green. And did we didn't see any. It wasn't even the fact that like, look, it's one thing. If you see a bunch of birds.

And like they don't do it or something like that. Like I totally get that. It's, it's hunting. It's not a perfect science. Like, dude, we didn't see shit. And like, I also get like, sometimes you don't have birds. But like, as a guide or an outfitter, you need to be like. We don't have birds. Like that. Yeah, that was weird. Because I remember the night before I called them. And they were like, dude, we're loaded down. And I, I get things can change. But also like, I don't know. Like. I don't know. That's it. That's a hard business to run. Yeah. Um, it is what it is. It's just such. I think we're so excited for it too. Oh, dude. We were excited. We thought we were going to be in deep in the mallards and everything. And we shot what? A teal. A collision. That the guy took the band off of. Yeah. Do that was to this day. I saw that sort of happened there. It's for sure what happened. Start messing with that widget for like 20 minutes or so. Look over that dam and brought the widget back. It had a broken foot and, you know.

Okay. Great marks on its leg where he was going to have to pay off of it. Yeah. I think that one's up there. Um, I mean, I want to say this year. The last day of duck season when it was me tray and his brother-in-law. And we had gone and scouted one of the ponds the day before. And it, but it froze over and we had seen probably a ton of ducks probably, you know, 50, 60 ducks on there. And the whole pond was frozen over when we pull up. And then there was. Probably we pull up 120 ducks on there. Just keeping this little hole up and we pull up. They all fly off. And then a hole freezes back over. We break it open. Get everything set up. Not a single duck came back and when she was like negative six, negative seven, it was awful. Yeah, that was up there. And then I think it wasn't a terrible hunt,

but it could have been a lot better. It's last day of duck season 2016. We went out of that. That timber. Are. 380. Are you serious? 380 in Louisiana. Stop. Yeah. Yeah. That's the one you're talking about, it's sunk because we drove all the way over there. Yeah. Yeah. And we got the timber. And, uh, dude, I had never seen so many ducks at first light. Like, oh my, oh my god. And, uh, but then we didn't really have any cover. We thought we had some cover. Turns out we always think you have cover whenever you're building it in the dark. And then we, and then we started arguing about who's calling shots. And, you know, if we shoot, there was that mallard that was like 20 feet above Jeff's head. And Jeff pulls up to shoot. Was it Josh goes, no, no.

Yeah, dude. Yeah, y'all are yelling at me. The ducks at 60 yards. And then, uh, and then I started yelling at Josh because he starts ripping like an open water call in the, in the timber hole. And I'm like, bro, those mallards were like 30 yards away or like probably not that close, but like 40, 50 yards away. You don't need to rip them on like that. They're about to lay in. Um, but we finally got settled in, found some cover, got the shade at least and shot some ducks. That was fun. Yeah, it sucks too whenever you're, I don't know. When you do drive all that way, you know, you want to shoot some ducks. And when you don't, you don't. So, I don't know. Worse hunts though. This year's got to be up there. There were some shitty hunts this year. The duck hunting has never been so bad. Hey.

Yeah. I don't know. When I think of worse hunts, any of them with Curtis involved. Um, but yeah, Curtis, Curtis the bird dog. They're the best. We were just talking about shooting that buck. And I was with Curtis how fun it was. But I don't know, dude. We definitely had some. What's funny is looking back at it and, and college hunts some different public landspots and shooting four or five ducks over a six hour spam. And we thought we were. God's gift to duck hunting, you know. And you look back at it now and you're like, dude, we hunted a lot that first year to not shoot a lot of ducks. To not shoot a lot of ducks. That's true. At, uh, I mean, I'll, I'll, I'll save Ray Roberts. Yeah, go hunt Ray Roberts. That's where all of you should go. Don't vote it with birds or Ray Roberts. So many. If you want to go shoot ducks, go to Ray Bob.

You'll have more ducks than you know what to do with. I have. I'll go ahead Curt. So we're talking about worst hunts. Worst hunts. One of the worst ones I had is out at Justin Hirsch and, uh, there's lower little ridge. And there's four spots. The first spot is about a mile out. And the next spot's follow. And we went out. It's a lower little ridge too. I knew it was a little over a mile and a half somewhere around there. And, uh, we were trying to goose hunt too. And we brought sleds and everything. Well, they just so happened to be so dry. And man, I'll never forget it because I, I mean, we walked through mud. They've got cows out in the pasture and everything. We walked through mud. They're supposed to be four guys only two ended up showing up.

So we're carrying sleds and everything. I mean, it was one of the work. I mean, it was with Drew, Drew and Carter. And, and it was by far one of the worst. I thought, I thought we're going to have to call a helicopter out there. That's where one of the guys that we know, he went to lower little ridge three and got lost and had to, uh, we had to get the coast guard out there. And they, uh, the coast guard started getting the boats and they started flying drones. And so that's, yeah, that was where I hunt. And it was the worst hunt of my life. I mean, the absolute worst. What was that? Well, it's a spot down there. It's like 1200 one. It's like a three mile walk and that old man. Are you there that morning? You made that comment to us? We got picked early. And they always say you should ducks out there, but the walk is horrible. And that old man said, yeah, if you go out there, you need to take about four decoys and seven shells

because they're going to fly so close to you, you only need six to limit, but that last one's for you. So you don't have to walk back. Yeah. Oh, yeah. 1200 one. 1200 one is a about a hundred yard walk. But the hardest hundred yard walk you'll ever endurance in your life. It is ridiculous, dude. Like, when I tell you, like, there's cow steps everywhere and they're about two to three feet deep and you just fall right in. Like, like nothing. I just remember that old man saying that and I was like, hey, dude, we can hunt anywhere but there. They're pleased. Oh, it's so cool. That's probably what he tells everybody. And he goes out every Saturday and shoots a limb in about 15 minutes. And he's back home by 9 a.m. with breakfast. Got a little bypass. He does a little shortcut. That was funny. Now it was the worst one. I thought I was literally.

It was bad. We ended up shooting a couple of geese and a couple of ducks. So it was a good hunt. But on the way back, man, I wish I had that seventh bullet. I'll tell you that. Dude, I'll tell you what. I know it wasn't a far walk either, but having to do it like four times back and forth was the. That island blind at the lease in Wharton. Dude, that was the thing that made me start working out again. I wish I was joking. I was like, I remember laying on the dirt road. I was like, your truck. And I was like. It was like Joey Diaz and Lonnie Sharp like. Canacorn. I go. Canacorn. Yeah, I was dying. I was like, dude, I can't ever do this again. I can't feel this way ever again for the rest of my life. And that took that took you under. I would never forget that. I'll never do those bells of hay and everything right there. Yeah. Dude, I was hurt and bad. But it was nice when you had those other blinds that are right on the levy. And you could just pull up in the four wheeler.

Of course, you drive that thing like it was Tokyo drift and we're riding behind it. The trailer. And it's just throwing mud everywhere. Well, he got so dark I did not. And I had a green light on thinking I'm some assassin. And I'm shot in the green line. It's not doing shit for lights. So I'm trying to drive on the levy. And all of a sudden we're in the middle of a cornfield. I'm just stirring up mud and I'm holy cow. Dude, that is one of the worst things. You're getting out of the ranch and you're driving around the night. And you think you're on the trail. You're supposed to be on it. And all of a sudden you're like, oh, I'm not on it. Dude, I remember there's one night we drove to the lease. And I don't know who drove, but the fog was so bad you literally couldn't see. But 15 feet in front of you. I was like, dude, we're not there. That's what I remember. I think I drove. I think I drove. And I had to tell you to go to sleep. Because you're just...

You can't eat. You can't eat. Connor, you remember the sunglasses at night? Haha. Dude, it's still one of the... Bag of nails. Second and third year we were hunting together. We got a spot. And we were going to go out there opening day and dexies. And we thought it was going to be loaded down with birds. It was about two hours from where we were living. And we get out on the road and Connor is like, I'll drive. And the old piece of shit Chevy. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I mean that. I mean that in the most endearing way. Whoa. Piece of shit, but it would get you in and out of anywhere you need to be. And we're driving in the same situation. It was foggy, you know, not a lot of clarity. And all of a sudden, Connor puts on sunglasses and it's for a... If that, it's probably three in the morning. And I look at him and he doesn't say a word. He just puts on these sunglasses and keeps driving.

And we're in like a dangerous area. Like that road is known to be dangerous. And I look at Connor and I go, what are you doing? And he was like sunglasses. You can see the reflectors better at night. And he drives for like 10 minutes with sunglasses along. And it's pitch black outside. Foggy pitch black. And I'm convinced. So dude, I'm sitting on my phone. Like, can you see better at night with sunglasses? Like, Google on it. Like, and I finally, after like 10 minutes, he takes some off. He's like, I was just kidding. I was like, dude, I'm over there. Like, you know, it's real. And he couldn't see shit for the past 10 minutes. Yeah, I mean, he's not involved in the fog. Not see shit. Oh, God. That's funny. I asked what thing you need to know. As Connor doesn't waste no time getting from A to B. Okay. Hey, no, I'm running it like Duke's a hazard. He's smoking in the bandit. Only time I've ever seen him go this speed limit through a certain town.

Just north of me. Is where that car went the wrong way by us at about 3 a.m. going about 90. And he slowed down like. Dude, that was so sketchy. Dude, I like. I don't care you for that story. But like, that honestly, God, like, it happens so fast. I don't think we really, I don't mean we didn't realize what happened. Like me and Jeffrey legitimately should have died. Right. Like, legit. I realize what happened. I watched the whole thing. And I just didn't like freak you out. We're on 287 at like 3 a.m. coming from. Was it Denton or we had a college? I think we're out of college. I think we were coming from Western from Western seven. And we're up on 287 in Alborg. Right by the water tower. And there's like, I see these headlights. And all of a sudden, you see we're in the right lane. You see a car just passing the left lane. And we're like, I think we didn't realize what happened.

I was like, I got like two seconds, three seconds goes by. I was like, if that car go in the wrong way. And you're like, yeah, I was like, I'm going to call 911. And you were like, you don't need to call 911 for that. And I'm like, are you fucking nuts? I got to myself. So we were coming around a corner like a bin. And I saw the car's headlights. And I thought, man, it looks weird. There's a median, but it looks weird. And as he got closer, I was like, dude, I don't want to say anything because I don't want him to freak out. Like, sort of, and we flip or something. And that car blew behind the car. So I'm going to call the cops. I said, I don't think you should. I think in my mind, I was thinking that they might have a rough night. I don't want to make it any more rough. Rough night is a kill somebody. Well, I do remember getting to the duck lining, Googling it. There had been an accident. There wasn't. So at some point, he realized he was going the wrong way. Well, no, do you remember what happened? Is we got like up the road like a half a mile. And there were like three cop cars going the opposite direction with their lights on.

And they got it. Like, good. Dude, and he was, he was, I mean, we were going probably 70, 75. 80. And he was going way faster. Just as fast. I mean, that was closed casket funeral. If we go ahead on him, that one. That's so hot. I wouldn't hate that dude's launch, though. Dude, we need to clean this up with a mop. It was. It's gnarly. Gnarly. Well, fellas, we're an hour and a half in. This was, this was a solid podcast. Solid one. I'll give it the floor. Kurt. Do you have any parting thoughts for us? Anything you want to plug? Let's go. Your dad's been in Mover and showed him the 56 half prices. I'll do you dirty, Darryl. Fuck. I'll do you. Tell him about what Darryl did the other day with those hats. So, I got 12 of each kind. And a couple of them, the two batches came in before and then he was going to drop off the third batch. And when he dropped off the third batch, he put it out of my front porch. I go to count and I got 12 of them.

And there's 11. And I say, D, what's up? I got 11. And I got, you know, I paid for 12. And he's like, oh shit, I took one. And I'm using it as a sample. And I'm like, okay, D, okay. I appreciate you. Hey, it's all right. We're going to play Texas City. We're going there soon. You don't got to pay. You want to pay? Oh. Good point, boy. Oh boy, it rolls in the Texas City about 615 in the morning. Doesn't stretch a bit 70 something years old. Rips on off the first team. Rips it. If you try to hit a ball on the range, he's like, hey, we got to go. Let's go. Yeah. One last thing, talking about him. Body is saying the world Christmas Eve, like 2017. We go play golf. And it's like, we go playing, I think it was Timber Creek, which, you know,

I love Timber Creek. It's not cheap, right? Yeah. And it might not have been Timber Creek, whatever. And me and Bear are sitting in the golf cart. We're at the turn on nine. No, it's right before we teed off. And we're sitting in the cart waiting to go to one. And he goes in the clubhouse. And he comes flying by. Y'all know how he does with the foot hanging out of the cart. You know, like he's always on the go running for somebody. And dude, he flies by on the golf cart. And he looks at us as he goes by. And he goes paid for your round. Merry fucking Christmas. And just goes to one. Doesn't say a word. Other than that. We get to one. And he's already up there teed up. Ready to rock. You're ready? Yeah. We were like, damn dude. All right. Deep. All right. Listen, Christmas. All right. That's the best way to end it. Brought to you by Kirkco Services. Merry fucking Christmas. We'll holler at you later. This is the deep in the hunt of Texas podcast.

All right, guys. We are back. We have made a horrible mistake. Oh my god. I am the biggest idiot on the face of the earth. I didn't ask these two losers. The most important question that I will ask anyone all day long, all week long. Jeff Rowe. Is that a volunteer? I see. Uh, it was that a note to I can go get another bourbon. Go get another bourbon. I'll be right back. Go get another bourbon. My god. Folks, this is the deep in the hunt of Texas podcast. This is a very serious hunting talk. Very, very, very important stuff. And I'm just stalling here because Curtis is deep throwing about four handfuls of cheeses right now. We can't have dead air. That'll never happen here ever under any circumstances. But we did dead air. What's that? Okay. Okay. Got me. You got me. No, but I just, I don't know. I kind of, I kind of checked out there a little bit.

I, uh, okay. Don't, don't you dare do that. I forgot to ask most questions. So we're going to start with Curtis, Curtis Hales from Paralan, Texas. Uh, and he is going to give us a little recommendation here. Uh, what's the, uh, what's the best, uh, best, best place in Paralan? A lot of people are going to say green goes. It's good. Obviously, that's the OG one. That's the first one ever fucking made, created, presented. What do you mean? The first Mexican restaurant ever made? No, no, first green goes, first green goes. But that's not number one on my list. But that's what a lot of people would say. But I got to go with, uh, there's this Emma's place. Now it's called Baby Emma's. And, uh, it's really called Baby Emma's. No. What's it called? You have to tell the people the name.

Uh, Loss. I'd fuck it up. I'd fuck it up. I'm going to look it up since, since, uh, Curtis has laxicate abilities. Emma's Paralan permanently closed. No, they don't. They, they went somewhere else. Um, subores del sole. Yes. Yes. Curtis just can't fucking say it. Can't he? Yes. So, how did you get baby Emma's? How does somebody use to be Emma's? And they down, they kind of went to a different building. It was a little smaller. So I started calling baby Emma's. But anyways, that place. And then Casa, Casa Olay. Fresh today. Hey. Every day. Hey. Hey. Olay. Olay. Olay. Shout out Jose Lima.

No, Casa Olay is pretty good. Um, some people like, um, Laxicita. I wouldn't take it. Laxicita was good. Was. Was. Yeah, I can tune on 12. Um, but no, that, uh, baby Emma's is best. I mean, that's the best. Yes, I'm Jimmy Chong is, but that's all. That's like the Walmart brand is some shit, you know. Jeffrey. What's the best Mexican food up there in our gal? I'm going to go over to Justin for it. Uh, throw down on some margaritas. Okay. Tiny little hole in the wall. I say hole in the wall. It's just on the side of the road, but it, uh, it's very, very good. I don't know if I've ever been there. You need to go there. Maybe I'll go there this weekend. It's good. You're going to hate it, but it's good.

Why am I going to hate it? Because you're going to be like, oh, it's not the same quality of meat. A spicy Mexico, you know, some shit like that. Look, nothing spicy Mexico. You know what my meat is though? You can roll in. And for like $13. It gets you a fajita plate and a margarita. Ooh. Ooh. Hey, now. Hey, now. You try to turn me on. Are you trying to turn me on? They're trying to get me horny. Like what? What is going on here? So in college, I went to margaritas with somebody. I don't remember. They were from the area and they brought me down here. And I thought to myself, it's good. And I didn't remember the name of the place. And then I'd be damned. If 10 years later, I didn't move three miles from it. And I drove by it. It was one of those things where you're driving down the road. And you're like, oh, shit. My hard right turn into the parking lot. The day's off. Yeah. Dude, it's so good. I love margaritas. And you get all my tacos, if I want to taco,

from La Michecana. And that's right down the road in parallel. La Michecana. La Michecana has, it's a Mexican meat market. And it is. I'm going to wipe all in there. I've never been in numerous towns. And there's typically a restaurant called El Bosque, which means the forest. And for the longest time in the northeastern area, I thought they were all related. They were not. And, uh, dude, those places throw down. I like that. What's yours, Connor? Well, around me, I will say. So I'm in North Fort Worth. A lot of chains. A lot of chains. I will throw some love to Lupe Tortilla. But I'm just going to do. Lupe Tortilla's gas.

There are things that are real good. It is absolute heat. They might have the best fajitas in the business. Not even close. I'm not disagreeing. I mean, they've got homemade tortillas. They have the best corn tortillas in the business too. Good diet coke. Good diet coke too. They get some crispy boys. If I'm going to go to a Mexican place to try fajitas, I'm not ordering corn tortillas. No, you bro. You got to have these corn tortillas, bro. They're different. How different they are. They're just don't start saying stuff you don't know about. Okay. How about you? How about you know your role and shut your name mouth? Okay? Stay in your lane. Corn tortillas. Curry, you are a corn tortillas? I love corn. Oh, my god. Damn, maybe I need to try corn tortillas. I'll tell you, bro. No one told me one time. They were healthier. And I just decided at that point, I didn't need them. I decided they were nasty if they were healthier.

Oh, we can tell. Yeah straight flower tortillas to the dome. Yeah. Yeah. Wave it. Now, loop eight tortillas. Good. That's kind of the dirty little secret or four word, there's like, I mean, there's Joe teas, but it's like you're going to Joe teas for vibes and get vibes and to get drunk. It's not like the best food in the world. It's fine. It's not bad. It's not bad. but you're going there to have a good time, probably go to the stockyards and get a little saucy. I've been to JOT's on certain nights though, and the fajitas are phenomenal. And they weren't as good as last time. I will say this, the chicken tortillas soup is what you order there. People talk about fajitas and chaladas. The taco dinner is better than fajitas, if you ask me, or like the Mexican dinner, I guess they call it. The soup? But, yeah, the chicken tortillas soup goes hard. It's like, you know, a vat.

It's huge. I have a question. Is it more of a thicker tortillas soup or like the brothy tortillas soup? It's a brothy one. I'm out. Again, it seems like you don't want it. Eat it. Tell me how Michaels haven't had a vegetable my entire life. Well, there's no good places in North of Fort Worth, Connor. Dude, there's one place by my house. It's not good. I went there once when I first moved here. I'm not going to out. It's, I don't, I think it is a chain, but it's not that great. But what if it was bad that one time and you counted it off that one time? You know, you're right. Maybe I'll go there tomorrow. I think I'm going to go eat there tomorrow. I doubt it. You might need to get something different. Hey, if I say something, I'll do it. That's one thing about me. Don't make that face. You, you say a lot of shit and you don't do shit.

Excuse me? Yeah. You sit for it? Yeah. Oh, I'm going to get up and hunt in the morning. Oh, you my favorite little game to play. Are you talking to me? You might get up. I usually do. You know, my favorite little game to play is is when Curtis is in Love Lady. I love waking up about 7 a.m. and checking Curtis's location. See if he's still at camp or not. Oh, we know. Pussy. Dude, that day when I guess what, I make it every fucking time now. Do you know, bear shared his location with me the other day out of nowhere? How do you do that? I don't know if he did on purpose or not, but you just did. And I was like, I'm just not going to say anything. Can't see him when he's at home without I for no. Yeah, and then when I tell him, he's going to be like, what the fuck? No, not that guy. Dude, that day when you called me and woke me up and I rolled out a bed of about 555, I thought there's no way in hell. I'm going to make it to shooting light for shooting light.

But I didn't even grab my shotgun. Yeah, that's the one. Got Connor and Diet Coke. Somehow made it. Gosh. Well, I hate to cut it here, guys, but I am prairie dog and like some bitch. So I'm going to go ahead and call it. Curtis, you can go right and fuck off, Jeff. Thanks for coming on. Once again, second time brought to you by Kirkco Services LLC.
