Day 244 Daily Morning Prayer “GOD GIVE US PEACE”
About this episode
In a world where conflict, uncertainty, and tension often dominate the headlines, this prayer centers the heart on a simple but powerful request: “God, give us peace.” Drawing from the spirit of Psalm 68, the prayer acknowledges the reality of turmoil in the world while placing ultimate trust in God’s wisdom, justice, and guidance. It lifts up the longing shared by so many people—for calm, safety, and a world where families and communities can live and flourish without fear. As the prayer unfolds, it moves from petition to hope, reminding listeners that even in uncertain times we do not surrender faith, kindness, or the belief that goodness still matters. It is both a prayer for the world and a prayer for the people who must live in it.

You are listening to words for the soul, food for the heart, your daily morning prayer podcast. Good morning, praying people. Circle around, and let's pray. God give us peace. Peace in the world that often forgets how precious peace really is. Peace in places where voices are raised in anger. Peace in lands where people wake up each day, wondering what the next hour will bring. Peace in the hearts of ordinary people who never asked to be caught in the middle of conflict. God give us peace. For your word says, let God rise up and let his enemies be scattered. And when we hear those words, we remember that you clearly see what we sometimes struggle to see. You know the difference between pride and justice. You know the difference between power and righteousness. You know the difference between those
who seek peace and those who stir up trouble. So today God rise in wisdom, rise in truth, rise in justice, and scatter the forces that lead people toward destruction. Scatter the lies that make enemies out of neighbors. Scatter the anger that convinces people that violence is the answer. And guide the hearts of leaders towards decisions that protect life instead of destroying it. Because deep within us there is a longing for something better, a longing for calm, a longing for safety, a longing for a world where children can grow, families can thrive and communities can flourish without fear. Your word also says, let the righteous be joyful. Let them exalt before God. So even in uncertain times we will not surrender
we will not surrender kindness and we will not surrender the belief that goodness doesn't matter. The Psalm 68 Psalmist tells us, sing to God, sing praises to his name. So today we lift our voices, not because the world has solved all its problems, but because we trust that you still hold the future in your hands. God give us peace, peace in our homes and in communities and peace in places where the world feels most fragile and peace within us so that we may become people who carry calm into the spaces we enter. And now God as the weak stands before us, fill us with hope, hope that rises higher than the fear around us. Hope that reminds us that tomorrow still belongs to you. Give your people strength for the work that awaits them in meetings, in classrooms, in hospitals,
in offices, kitchens and in the streets and every place that feet will walk. Remind us that we are not alone. You walk before us. You walk beside us and you walk behind us and wherever else we go. Amen. Amen. Today calls for a moment and pray for peace, not only for yourself and your family, but for the world. Sometimes the quiet prayers of ordinary people help move the heart of heaven. Affirm this with me. I carry peace within me. Now go out and have yourself a marvelous day just because you hold the power to do so. Amen. Amen.
