Live from the New America studio and brought to you by Northern Quest Resort in Casino. It's the Dave and Molly show. Yeah, we are on. Happy Friday. How's going over there? It's Friday. Just finishing breakfast. There were no incidents below the belt. That is not what happened. It's Friday. I'm just finishing. Dutch bros. Oh my god, the breakfasts are so good. Yeah, that's the that's the new tradition when I saw you bring it in the Dutch bros bag. It even has the little pack that says Dutch bros so you know it's going to be good. Those places don't even give you a bag. Which places like bag that's eight cents. No, not a Dutch bros. They just hand you one. It's pretty good. Yeah, it's so good. So let's get started. It is Friday. Today will be freaky Friday.

I have some questions for the showdown. So if you want to play Molly in the trivia competition today is your day. Okay, be ready for that. Okay, right about eight o'clock Kate Hudson will be in with us today. And then. It was just me on the set today. Sam is out today. Sam is traveling. And then. Today is the 25th anniversary of 9-11. So that was kind of the. You know, like where were you and and you know what do you remember about that? And I'll obviously it's a day that no one will ever forget. Right. Well, the people who remember there's just a huge amount of population that were either little or not alive. Now, which is. I think about that like. Our parents were part of they remember will or two or really remember Vietnam in real time. And this is the event of our generation that we will remember. Completely, you know, being full adults while it happened.

Yeah. Yeah, we were we were on the air when it happened. Just as scared as everybody else and no one really knew what was happening. And then. So. Yeah. But it's 25 years. 25 years. A lot has changed in 25 years. It has. So we'll talk about that as the as we move on through the show. But yesterday. I was still finishing here and there was a chance that they had the big K HQ barb queue. Yeah. Yesterday. Did you end up going? No, I didn't. Yeah. I got wait. May lay. No way. I was out in the valley. Okay. At a Costco run. More on that in a second. Oh boy. Greatest sample day in the history of Costco ever. Boy, that's a bold statement. I had all of it. It was amazing. Well, I was I was here and then you know, working on a few things and and it originally was supposed to start at 11 30. Yeah. And then I think they sent a thing saying, okay, it's going to be 11 45 and I was thinking, okay, well, we'll see.

So I was finishing up here and and chatting with some of the people that were going over our friend Sam Adams. Love is the free barbacue is more than any. He's always very excited about going over there. And I said, I'm not sure. I just was not in a good, you know, state for everything, but they were they were gathering to make their, you know, to make the big walk on over. Yeah. Right across the street. So I just said, I think I'm going to be out. So. Oh, okay. So I leave as I'm leaving the parking garage, you can't miss. There's there's Jason and Bradley and they've got the giant barbacue going. They're smoke going crazy. Got stacks of buns. And I just thought, well, I'm going to miss out, but it looks like it's going to be fantastic. And I love the spirit of the whole thing. Yeah. Yeah. And then as I'm driving away in the in the rearview mirror, I can see all the people just kind of. Oh, yeah. So it was right about that. So you're here, but you did see, I knew I couldn't make it back in time.

I knew by the time I got here, there'd be like one hot dog and one burger and they'd say, oh, here you go. You want to take that to go? This is scary along. Yeah, it was it was it looked like it was going to be something. And it was a it was a very nice day. I was perfect. It wasn't last year. It was so hot. I remember being out there. Did they do the same thing over there? Oh, okay. And the year before that, we weren't here yet because we had started. So last year I did go. I was out with Quinn. Okay. And I was, you know, it's nervous. I said, couldn't you, could I say with you? Could I, and he said, oh, yeah, I'll make sure you're here. And he like secured a spot. I think, yeah, and I think our friend Luke, I think I sat with them because I was nervous. You weren't here. And I was I was all by myself fish out of water. And I, but I had a giant burger. It was so hot. So yesterday was probably nicer. Yeah. It was a little bit of a breeze because at once I once I did get home, I was I wanted to get Maui out. And as we were walking, I was like, oh, this is, yeah, the breeze is kind of nice.

So that was great. So it took, took care of my trusty loyal dog. Just got a few things done around the house. And then I found out that it was wine night, which I always forget that, you know, Thursday, so, so I, I had there. And I prior to the wine night, I, I still had some variety of meats and cheeses from the night before. So I'm eating that. So by the time I get ready for wine night, it's not, I'm not that starving. I'm not going to be to place. Just sensible salad. Just a, well, then, you know, one thing lately to another. And I had the, I did have the sensible salad. And then I had a side of the corn pasta. Oh, reasonable, not too much. It was reasonable, but yeah. So that was great. And then they, you know, with the football game on last night. Yeah. It was the Rams and the 49ers. And it was in Australia. Yes. And it was on Netflix.

Well, most, most bars don't have Netflix on their thing. You know, that's, that's one that you have at your house, but not really on the thing. So, so they had set up a little tiny, like they had their phone that was playing the game. So here's my takeaway from the football game. It looked like a college game to me. It because it was blazing sunshine. Yes. And I had it this weird, at least at my house. It had this weird almost how I remember football looking as a kid, like tape not film or something. It had a different quality. It reminded me of when my dad would have football games. I just had an old school look to it. I don't know if it was the transmission or because it was, but the blazing sunshine reminds me of college football. It was, it was brighter than normal. And, and the fact that it's nighttime here. Yes. And we're watching a daytime game. That's, that's rarely the case.

Usually there, there are situations for us where it's the opposite. Yeah. Where it's still light out, but then we're watching a game that night has already fallen because it's on the East Coast or whatever. Right. But yeah, it was, it was a weird. It was weird. Yeah. And how about those rams? The rams, oh, rams are going to crush everybody this year. Oh, they're the favorite go of the Super Bowl. They're this, they're that, they might go undefeated. Rams, Rams, Rams, Rams. Late in the yesterday. I think you need to be quiet, sir. That is my defense you're talking about. Leave them alone. I was just, I'm just looking. I'm trying to find it. You're very excited about the Rams defense. I don't, I just picked them because I heard they were supposed to win the Super Bowl this year. Well, that's those a lot of chair out there. But so far I have 27 point. I only got like a point and a half last night. But hard asser, hoodlums, I'm a Spokane only has 8.8 points. So eight. Yeah. I'm winning. How did your, what did you have last night? I had, I'm, I'm expected to win the other league, which is very, very, very important.

Yes. And then in this league. I'm not sure. I think it's, I think I'm favored to win both. I can't offense you, I need to work on that though. Yeah, you know what, you know, there's a lot of. No good極 sints. And then right now that is POT Delta. Right? Doing the Rust done that, it was your best both ATM work averages against equity and then you got that. That'sтерished property. What is in my birthday? I'm just going to win the first plastic though, you know, so have siblings who want it all over the game. No. Thank you very much. And put that on till now, it's not. Well they weren't looking for darêmes but it's doing the right thing. Also they don't ask for things so for this buy out Qur刚E art. Let's get into the history of the Kings of Medici. I know. But if you're just looking right now, I'm doing pretty well. There's only one person beating me and it's that so there I love that you yeah, well When I do the stupid and the college thing and you're like well

Well, I know yet there's no way you can wait Well the Rams got it out of their system maybe yeah now and They got in two days ago the 49ers have been there for a week They were all the fans and so I Predict that the Rams will fare better getting back into the states than the 49ers world that you you spent a week in Australia You're now on Australia time Rams have no chance to get on Australian time. They'll sleep on the plane They'll get home and it's like they were never there Well, it kind of like was that like well, I know they didn't show up. It'll be fine Everything's fine anyway. Yeah, I think who I don't know who the ramp playing next But I wouldn't want to be that opponent. Yeah, they're gonna be a little angry. Yeah, so anyway So that with the the wine that was great and a Dean showed up for a bit And she had a bowl of the chili and so that was great and then then I got home and I watched the rest of the game

But by the time I got home to watch the rest of the game it was already decided like there wasn't there was no You know, I saw where the Rams almost scored and they were just short They should have scored and they didn't and then I was out It's me, but you've got the defense you got that Rams defense. Well, I saw the score and I thought well This is nothing for me nothing nothing good could happen here. Yeah But that was it I slept well and ready ready for For Friday and then I got your text and that and I think it said hear me out You do the TV I bring in breakfast. Of course. I'm gonna agree to that So that's okay. I think it's a good deal for everyone You know, you could have been because we I think I went over to the set and then I was chatting with Kali and they had they had network cover John So we were talking and then we think I think we went on a little later than normal Well, I had a large situation this morning, which I never do and so it the snoozing situation. I don't know if I

Did it myself or and it was usually I go to buy said it I have 10 minute increments starting at four and then I 4 4 10 depending on what my obligations are in the morning I know when I actually have to get out of bed when I have to leave the house and Somehow the system got messed up. Oh, the system got messed up. I thought well I could either rush and go with wet hair and or I Could call it audible and I heard you out you heard me out you said hear me out And I said yes, I will hear you out. I was great. I felt I felt heard this morning And Dutch pros was Uncharacteristically quiet. I went to the one Washington and second. I was only one in line I have a feeling I either just miss the rush or beat the rush because Fridays are usually Yeah, I came down I came down the Freya Hill and I think there were four cars in line so

But I had already had my coffee at the house so Well, I left here yesterday and I had to head out to the valley to do a couple of things Well, once you're out in the valley and there's a Costco. I have not been to Costco. I bet it's been six months Whoa, I don't I just don't go to Costco because I don't need things in bulk, right? So I Decide well, I'm already out here. Let's just go do a Costco run The samples were amazing so start with a ravioli It's like a stuffed ravioli thing and it was almost a meal Then I got the ramen that was delicious. Then there were cookies. Then there was a cheese situation Then there was there was one it was So gross it was like a bar had a blueberry flavor and they gave you like half of it like that much like that much of it I took one bite of it But that's not good for that. That's not good for sales. But here's what I found out so you know our listeners have been telling me

Oh, they have pokey at Costco and I said no, you're lying and then they said no, we're not lying It's always been there. Well, I thought I'll go look for the pokey well right beside the pokey and and somebody will have to tell me I don't know I've never seen this at Costco sashimi Real sashimi which you know sushi is the fish with the rice sashimi is just the fish and that's what we usually eat yellowtail salmon and tuna All in a row and for 30 bucks you got I think eight pieces of each one now at a sushi place That would be a hundred and fifty dollars. Well you get three pieces for fifteen dollars at a sushi place And this is at least five times that so I was a but so let me were the listeners lying They didn't tell me this part Maybe new so I called my mom and I said all I she said what what's how how are you? What's going on Baba? I said listen?

This is what I have to say have you ever seen sashimi and she said and she my brother are Costco people they go all the time And so she said this is news to me and I said well, they may not have it at your Costco I didn't try yesterday because it's something you have to eat that day you a you you don't want to keep it around I did get some of the pokey and it was delicious But now I'm very excited because we will that we will get that and then you get a California roll somewhere and you're You don't need to go pay $150 for sushi. No, you don't life has changed your back You're just going to your friendly neighborhood Costco that you did not attend it in over six months I can't believe and my membership is up but not quite yet. So they didn't they didn't flag me. So I'm waiting I'll pay it next month. Here's the thing that happened though They're paving half of the parking lot So you know the valley the valley so if you look at the south the south South parking lot right south of

Costco that it right along spread yeah the whole southwest Thing is closed. They're paving it. So now you have to go to the other side So I go in over near the barn whatever the barn thing is a boot barn or whatever Come in that way through near the gas station and I park and I got a decent spot I'm not used to coming in that way and when I came out I had no idea where I parked I walked around with my cart it was like 10 or 15 minutes and and I almost started to cry because I thought I've lost my mind and I'm that person and it's happened to me at that Costco before it never happens at the casino Somehow I remember where I parked at the casino. I've never had that happen So I'm walking around and I thought I bet if I push this thing my alarm will go off. Yeah I do it and it is Way over there. Oh, I mean on the other side of the whole thing and I thought that that can't be that can't be my car

I can't be that far off. So I finally get back to my car and I get home My friend Steve comes over. We're doing some stuff then go get the girls for karate and my son said hey How about if I come meet it karate and the karate days are winding down. They're coming to a finish So we have to enjoy these so I Bring a chair and he and I sat outside and there were no parents there was the we were saying usually there's tons of the weather was perfect Yeah, because if it's too hot or too cold, I'm out So we sat and watched the karate and chatted and then we I sent him over to tomato street And I said you go get a table and you start ordering because you're starving so I said we'll meet you over there. So The fun thing about tomato street is they have chalkboards like when you first walk in and then in the restaurant where the girls could draw Stuff and then they have the Plano and they you can draw on the thing. So anyway, we had dinner and I dropped them off around 715 so it was a kind of a longer day. It's just kind of non-stop And then I did a rewatch of steel magnolia's Michelle

She left that's her favorite movie our friend Michelle that is a sweet movie and it does hold up and I forgot I haven't seen that movie in Probably since maybe it came out. I'm not sure so that was my viewing and then I Did not even watch a little bit of friends as I was going to sleep no Brady Bunch didn't need it Oh, it's been how long has it been since you watched the Brady Bunch 48 hours only four and I haven't been the casino 48 hours And I can't go today either They missed me there so Oh, Trevor says hear me out valet Costco That might be a good idea Here's the thing about it when I go to Costco I don't care how close I am to the store what I care about is how close I am to a cart return. Yes, that's the key So I remember I remember that I was facing north I did remember that part and I remembered that right Right on the other side was a cart return But what I didn't remember is that it was the first like I

It was so weird. I must have just been not You know your park you're just mindlessly on I was probably thinking about what I was gonna get and And the samples. Oh my god and the wall of the wall. I call it the wall of it's like a Wall of suggestion when you walk in oh, yes, nothing you need that's all those items that they They're like they're supposed to Click stuff in your brain. So I got swiffer. I got this swiffer thing with the Like like a dusting thing it comes with the actually I use it. It was great But it was like five dollars off. So I got some doggy treats that were off And I was like I got some cheese. I didn't buy any of the sample stuff But the samples were so good and I was like I was that person who was waiting because I knew they were Dishing it out and you know you get a stack up of people That's a shimmy thing though. That's a revelation. I don't know if that's brand new or what but my mom didn't know either so

She's a Costco person. She's a she and my brother are Costco people for sure I got the girls some clothes because they were all on sale too they get the like sweat outfits that It's really good deals. It was good to be a Costco. I had better I need to go and I I think the last time Well, I've been getting stuff at Costco, but it's been the stuff that were where they bring and so now it's like well I'm gonna have to physically go there and it's probably the better move anyway. I know I'll save a lot of money It's it's tricky because you do save money and and when you're at Costco You see the people who are shopping for people you know who though you see a young like 28 year old guy and he's buying Depends and you know all this stuff you're thinking what is going on vitamins and oh yeah, he's he's delivering But here's the other thing so the guy I'm in line and the lines were great and he said you want me to pre-scan you and So sure so he pre he does all the stuff I walk up

She presses one button and gives me my total Wow because it was all done and then They gave me a couple little boxes and that was it so it was so efficient. What was your total price? Getting out of Costco to 30 that's not bad. No, and I have I got a bunch of Halloween plates I got some frozen breakfast things dog treats bottle of wine I Got I felt like it was pretty good. I didn't really need anything. I didn't need toilet paper paper towels That's when it's really yeah, but I got a couple things there were little pricey so It was good. I hadn't been there it was yeah, and also because I was already out there and then I knew I wasn't gonna make it back for the barbecue All of a sudden I had this and it was kind of relaxing like John to round Costco a relaxing time at Costco Did not get my doggy out for a walk though because by the time I got home then my friend was coming over and I missed the windows So there was a shoe

When I'm there and I go to get the girls from school I've gone for 15 minutes when I picked them up come back Not only is my walking shoe out the sock You know, I always chef the sock in there because I know you don't like that the sock has been taken out The she was in the middle of the living room and the laces have been displaced because she was like She's sending you a message and it wasn't a flip-flop. It was a walking shoe like you could have the weather is fine You are being lazy. Oh I took my Maui. I think she she realized that it was you know The dogs and now have expectations like if you do it with certain length of time That's what they think they're getting every time but it was a short of one yesterday But we did we did get out very quiet in the neighborhood and I think it's just because if you're Before school gets out. Yeah, all the kids there no kids and then you know Anyone that has anything to do with kids. They're getting ready for said kids. So you know

It's different times different activity in the neighborhood. Yeah, I I was reflecting on a conversation. So there's a young man Who is working here now who was very Tapped into YouTube. Oh, yeah, yeah writer his name and he's very knowledgeable and I had a conversation with him Yes, I was asking him about something and he called he's one of these smart kids who knows when he he's like Nope, I don't have that information. He's just so smart But I was telling the girls some of the stuff he was telling me which is that he knows some of the youtubers that they watch I mean just I said you know that say-lish girl. Yes I was like oh now you listen to me. I said well, I know somebody who knows the who's met the family where where do they meet them? I they were all ears for all of my information now you got some street creds I have some street cred things to write her because I I said yeah, I know I know the situation with this whole

YouTube thing but as I was When the girls are at my house what happens is Scarlett likes to go into the bedroom. She watches something she needs her she needs What does she say she needs privacy or she needs some she needs a loan time away from her sister like she's has to have that So roars out on the couch scarlet in the bedroom and then I'm kind of Getting snacks and stuff, but it's my time to work on the puzzle or I get on the computer. I do things But I have to hear the YouTube and I say please turn it down Please turn it down and when I said to I was explaining it to our friend writer He knew exactly what it's talking about. I said I want to break the TV when I hear how are they making millions of dollars these people Millions of dollars and my kids are all addicted to it They're all it's just that's a YouTube generation Crazy though, and it's awful. So anyway, that's my little afternoon It's nice because the girls they don't really want anything from me. They just want after school

They need like an hour to decompress which I totally love that's like you do your for us It was like Gilligan's Island and Brady Bunch or some you know some TV show where you got home and watch that then you're ready to Yeah, tackle the homework or whatever So it used to be that they wanted my full attention and that they would want to play and now they sort of because it's school time They need that and I get it. I that was my thing too when I get home from school You just need yeah an hour of Gilligan's Island or something just Anyway, and then I I stayed up a little bit later than I usually do and then just the my alarm thing was It worked out great for you worked out great. Yeah, you should go and you should go screw up my alarm every time I've got some fuel for the day. Yeah, well I did get last night after the the football game which you know if it's a close game exciting game Then I'll watch the post coverage and everything but I didn't so then I make the mistake of you know scrolling through the Twitter

X But it was a lot of like 9-11 stuff and you know, it's amazing how all that stuff comes back to you and and because I remember watching We had the the today show on in the studio. We had no sound, but we were watching that so I I vividly remember the whole Katie Kirk thing and this has happened in the second plane hits well what I never did see was Regis and Kelly They I was watching this documentary called the 9-11 generation It's on Netflix right now and for the first time ever I saw exactly that footage. Yeah, I've never seen that either Exactly, and so I watched I actually watched it quite because he they They started their show literally Right Yeah, right. So we just like a minute into it and they were sort of talking about hey This is just happened, but we're still doing the show. It's kind of kind of crazy

And at the at the beginning when that when the first plane hit if if you didn't see which most people obviously didn't you just assumed That oh it was like a small plane And the pilot had a heart attack and he lost control and yeah, they said a small plane I was just like yeah, what what everybody thought and then When the second plane hits and that that one I remember it's scarred me for life, but that That massive jet and then the huge explosion. It's like oh my god Well, they were the on Regis and Kelly they were You know, so this has happened and then they see The second plane hit and then I think it's gulman that says actually another plane is now hit and then it was just like So I was why you know a lot of stuff that probably is not the best thing to be looking at before you go to sleep, but Um, yeah, it was a pretty um, I mean for every generation they have their big

Horrible news story and I think for for us. I was it watched I didn't have a monitor because I was in the other studio at the time and I didn't have a monitor in my studio But I saw through our window. I watched the host from the other it was like classy or whatever the river. I saw her see it That was because when you're trying to figure stuff out and I was all on my own and I was music mostly and I just thought I don't be responsible for this so I kind of said something's going on, but we're not sure and then watching her just She she just went oh and and so I kind of went to commercial break I said what is going on she explained it to me and then for I I almost instantly just said I I'm gonna hand this over and they took our whole station and turned it into news Right they rerouted it because Like oh here's the pesh mode like we don't yeah and that was yeah, it was it was awful But seeing somebody and then trying to figure it out and then going home

And then our station wanting us to go immediately out and start handing out flags and raising money and doing else and I'm like what are you even doing like this is we need a minute to Take this in yeah, it was It was a day that we were and the fair it's interesting because the fairways happens at this time Yes, and we had promised my friend Heather's little girl that she could go to the fair She was like three I think so she's no idea And I think it was probably the 14th that we went or something and very quiet and it was yeah Yeah, I think the fair had just the the fair had opened the previous Friday yes 9-11 happened on a Tuesday, right So it was you know kind of in the middle of that next week. Yeah Yeah, it's weird to hear because the coli was talking I think she's I think she said it on the air But she we we were talking before we went on but you know About like what where were you and how how did the you know

9-11 25 years ago She was saying that Leslie Lowe had heard it from us from Me and Ken when you go and show and then the same with some other other people in Media, you know Chris Crocker was another one who you know later on she said I heard the news from you guys Yeah, it was just it was just a regular Start to the day until that happened and then of course everything changed yeah And we didn't the the one thing I will What I did learn from a tragedy happening on the air is trust your own Thoughts and judgments because you know we're going through and people are saying oh you got to do this you got to do that And it's like well, I think we need to you know Let's let us play this out Well later in the show they were talking about When the plane went down in Pennsylvania and they said and this is completely unrelated to all this and I said

How how can you say that and it was multiple people and What we're supposed to be credible sources right they were saying no no it's completely different deal This is this is not related to these other planes and I said well, what are the odds? Yes, I mean that did it just never Didn't yes pass the sniff test, you know But that was a whole Scary thing too because there was like all this stuff going on then they Every plane that was still in the air at that time what you were nervous about until they got all the planes landed in all the different airports across the country Do you I don't know if you remember for us anyway out like sporting events and stuff We're out with the kids and a little plane would fly by and everybody would just yeah And because we at that time we golfed a ton We were always on downriver and and my part of my whole thing was I liked to watch the airplanes go over on like whole number Seven they go over and I I would be distracted watch the airplanes and we went and there was

nobody there like Quiet it was back before golf became what it was anyway, so we were kind of the only people out there sometimes But the but it was so weird not to have Plains you know landing constantly and anytime there would be any plane in the air for months It would be this weird. I remember seeing like a just I was like I guess like a biplane type of thing You know thing and There was a time after 9-11 and there were there's all these different fears and you know We were scared of a lot of stuff and I give us a pass on that because yeah prior to 9-11 Who would have ever thought of that so everything is in play now like and then they were saying oh Then there's the fear of their they're gonna be dropping um You know like poisonous stuff from the sky in these in these bi planes and that was a fear so even when you saw one of those planes Yes, you're a little bit rattled. It was just a uh crazy crazy time

Um when we went on our trip the spring and we went through gander That was so moving you know they have a whole museum at their airport because they that's what the musical come Yeah, I'm from a ways about everything the people from gander. There's normally I don't know 2000 people there. It's a very small place and all the sudden I think they had 200 planes land or some crazy amount of planes because That is you know you go up over Greenland and Iceland and that's kind of the route while all these planes had to land And they were all in gander at this You this airport and they just had them stacked up and people took people into their homes because they think they were there What was the ground was it six days? It was yeah, yeah, it was multiple days and they had no hotels So people were taking them in they stayed so at the airport there They have this cool museum with photos and stuff and uh just what that community did for Everybody and we landed there at two in the morning They were all up showing us and being so kind to us and it was that that part of it was just really interesting

And I'm glad they made a whole Moot like show about it because that's really It is a interesting story that that part of the story. Yeah. Yeah 25 years man that just seems impossible This is yeah Yeah Because I and I was thinking uh like Jake wasn't even We didn't adopt Jake's till 2004 So when he came to us he had experienced nine eleven on his own somewhere And I when I came to realize when he was about 12 is that He really he we were on a flight and he jokingly mentioned a bomb or something and I said I said you can't ever do that. He said what why I said nine eleven. He said what's that like Because of his situation and being in foster care. He just hadn't and I thought oh my god Nobody explained this to you what happened But then at that weird age what do you say to a kid you don't want to scare them and if people aren't paying attention

So he had kind of missed that part of history Like the girls with the pandemic I explained to them well we were on lockdown during that time and they're like what was what's locked down Well, Rara was one in scarlet was three so they have no idea what locked it They don't remember the pandemic at all and it is we Someone was telling me this not not recently but in reference to nine eleven, but it was like 25 years So I graduated high school in 1980 So that's and I have vivid memories of what happens then well 25 years before that is 1955 right and that just seemed like so Like that is so irrelevant nothing in that time could ever be in my thought process for this time well for For people that are you know there may be in high school right now. Yeah Or you know teenagers and that kind of thing you go back to 2001 that is like yeah

Nothing existed in 2001. It is a You know for up for older people that have been through it when we were young adults seeing that and and remember it We sound like old-timers talking about it, but it it is in your head forever. Oh, yeah Well, and I remember my friends navigating it with their kids because they They had to in real time explain What was going on and how the schools handled it? What the school said because that's a very important thing too Especially if you're let's say middle school high school and you're really well any of the ages how Who tells you what happened and how they Describe what happened is going to set it's like the shuttle the the challenge So that is etched in a lot of our brains because we were watching it live like that that's one of those things that and how your teacher Handled it was really really important as to how much it was gonna stay on your soul for the rest of your life kind of thing And I think 9-11 was that way. I was glad I didn't have children at the time to navigate it because

Well, but like the pandemic too You explain well there is this virus, you know, and they they can't comprehend it Alex remembers it because he was with me a lot But they don't remember the fear they don't remember the panic they don't remember any of that stuff Which is maybe better because I Remember it and I don't but I do remember the fear after 9-11 It was so scary and it did change it changed our country forever. Mm-hmm. This the sense of security was gone all of a sudden Yeah, just being scared like being scared in here because you don't know what's gonna happen. Yeah, exactly Exactly All right, thanks for being with us. We will talk some of the things that We're referencing how the how much time has gone by since 9-11 25 years Things that are older Then 9-11 that you wouldn't really think of okay, there's that Have you ever heard ever hit somebody up for what we call a foodie call not a booty call a foodie call

I don't know. Yeah, it's like we got calls. He was a hey. I'm really hungry, and I don't want to go by myself What do you think it's a thing right now? It's like on the on dating apps So those are a few of the things that we will get to Kate Hudson will join us In the 7 o'clock hour finite what's going on around town and then Molly will have to answer the trivia questions today for the showdown. Yeah, I've got them. I got the questions ready to go Okay, and I will say that you I think you will score well because I have a lot of questions that are like a either or So I mean just a 50 there a lot of 50-50 type stuff like over unders and then You know that kind of stuff. So I think it'll be a it should be a high scoring game. All right people fans love a high scoring game Who wants to take me on? Yeah, someone needs to take you on. Okay, okay That and more as we continue thanks for being with us everybody. It's Friday. This is the David Molly show from the new America studio

Let's check the news of the day We were talking about the about 9-11 25th anniversary of 9-11 and Now we present to you things that are Older or younger than 9-11 right around that time all right the iPod Yeah, younger By a couple of months. Oh, that's it the iPod debuted in November of 2001. Oh

Very close Google news That launched a year after 9-11 September of 2002 uh Friendster My space Facebook Reddit and Twitter were all just right after 9-11 and and in that order okay Twitter was the last of the those social media things and that was in 2006 oh man Did you do you hear the launch of the new Apple product yesterday? 7 new CEO. He's only been there for a week and he launched the um Flip new flip Apple phone. Oh, I heard about it. It's like two grand or something base. That's the Like yes, but two percent of the two percent of people have flip phones two that thing And they're launching a flip phone. Well, isn't it a thing that folds out like it's like a bigger screen

Yes, but that's how all of them are now. They're they're they call them a flip phone Really they make a bigger thing so it's like seven inches and it's supposed to almost so and I think they said China there's one Area that they're very very popular, but they were talking about how With the new CEO it's great to have a product to launch obviously it's been in the works for a couple years or whatever But they're a little late on it, but Apple is really good at saying now we know when it's going to catch fire but $2,000 and those are a little more fragile than regular because they have the hinges. I would think so yeah And so you need to be able to have $2,000 and replace it if it anyway That just seems and and the camera is not as good as the like 18 or whatever. So Who knows just another product out there I know a couple people who have them and it's so weird But You look at this. It's like a little mini TV when it's all folded out. Yeah That's weird YouTube YouTube is after 9-11 YouTube started in February of 2005

Oh, man, yeah, and then podcasts the phrase that the the word podcast was way before But you know podcast being Yeah, yeah, some people didn't even know what it was what a podcast actually was right But now we do the term came into common use around 2004 and And podcast was Oxford's word of the year in 2005 Yeah, yeah, and what does that literally mean? It means it is a instead of broadcast where it's going out to everywhere right it is a it's Like a yeah, it's a cast that is it's in a spot and then you go to that I Think I mean that's it's a clever name we do it every day. Yeah Yes That sounds right uh the movie elf Mm-hmm two years after 9-11

And took place in New York Yeah, and that's the thing like the friend when you watch friends the whole opening they have twin towers in the opening scenes and everything Yeah, that's Was friends about that What year did friends end was it 2000 So I don't know oh yeah, yeah It just started in 90 oh no friends started in 94 right yeah, I So 94 to two they definitely had a couple of years after 9-11 yeah I wonder how they handled that Uh all the movie 2004 was the notebook 2004 was mean girls And 2005 was the 40-year-old virgin No one had ever heard of American Idol Prior to 9-11 that premiered in 2002 yeah the office premiered in 2005

Gray's anatomy was also 2005 Were you on Gray's anatomy right from the beginning? Yeah, I remember it was a yeah, I was I watched it I watched it all the way until about Two years ago and then I stopped just Had so many cast turnovers and and they were really good about oh there's all these new people But then you liked them but this last time it was too much Could couldn't get into it I I Distinkly remember the SNL after 9-11 yeah, I think Giuliani was on there right right and then the baseball situation Because it was the two New York teams sort of no no no it was no was the Yankees in the Beliva was the Arizona diamondbacks and they Shocked the world they beat the Yankees in that series But um there's a there's a whole documentary about

That yeah, and then George W. Bush was the president obviously, but but the whole thing was if you're gonna throw out the first pitch It better be a strike. It's gotta be good And it's got and and he had to wear like a bulletproof vest and everything and so he's He's down in the underbelly of Yankee Stadium. Yeah, and he and Derek Jeter are playing catch And trying to make sure that it's a right, you know that it's a good pitch and then and you know he goes out there The president and it throws a strike. I mean it was a good looking Oh, yeah, okay, we needed that was you don't want it to be a comical or bad No sign of weakness so the Yeah, the Documentary that I was watching and I kind of fell off of it at the end it really went into Afghanistan the war all all it became a lot of military things and about what we were doing and stuff

But leading up to it it was really interesting These kids who are little one of the one the one girl the interview her dad was one of the pilots of flight 93 Oh my gosh. Yeah, so she she was just little and she talks about how this that day impacted her life And she said you think about all these things she said but my mom was never the same She said so now I'm dealing with a parent who is devastated and depressed For the rest of my growing up basically and you know, I think she was three maybe when it happened So of course she missed her dad, but then going to school and That this event happened and it impacts everybody but more impacts her And she said it's just always been a part of my life But then other people who are only learning about it in school their perspective how they're teaching it and And then people who were there people who got out of the building like really it was really and people who joined the There was one guy he was like seven when it happened and he said I knew right then

I was gonna join the service and I was there was a football player Actually played for the Arizona car. Yeah went to Arizona state. So he was a phoenix kind of guy Went to Arizona state then ended up playing for the Cardinals But went after 9-11 happened he yeah quit football and Join the there was another there was an actor who was it was somebody an actor who did the same thing He he went thought But yeah, I think everybody was so Now looking back we had some misinformation obviously things weren't as they seem but at the time it was the thing to do when you go and And by the way a podcast is called hang on a second portable on demand Oh really thank you. That's from Bobby D Yep, I never knew that The that pod is it's not a pod. It's the POD. It's like the initials

Is that really it or did they say it later and say well it makes sense because now it's that is what Bobby D's Wow You would think that we would know that on account of us being on one you would think so But then again, I was on radio for years and had no idea what a M and F M so I Still don't And I thought our When they said what's your format. I said we play in sync. It was our format Playing the pop hits playing the pop hit the latest social media trend we like to keep you updated on those social media trends It's a divorce talk Instead of TikTok divorce talk. Oh, Tio Okay, not TAL. Okay. Oh, okay It's basically a rise in people sharing their experience on social media after ending Many years of long marriages and partnerships did you hear that Molly?

So this is your chance now There was a news story Where one creator whose recent videos Share her newly divorced life after her 12-year marriage. Okay Two reasons for all this one when you're with someone for that long almost every aspect of your life Feels interwoven with you There's people now that are there they're actually Before they even tell their partner They're going on social media to say I have been in this relationship for X amount of years and today is the day I break up and People like to watch that kind of drama. Okay Wow divorce talk T. Okay. Yeah divorce talk So they're they're saying stuff before their partner even some of them. Okay. Yeah, but there's others that are just you know, they're sharing their

Their split not it Okay Instead of all the sudden They're not in a relationship anymore. How is that you know the All the pictures of that person are gone. Yeah, they're erased Is there a way to do that on Facebook where you could just like get rid of all anything it has to do with one person Even if they're not tied I bet you with AI they know They know the faces right what think I don't yeah, you just go through and Anybody who looks like this get rid of them. Oh, yeah, like a I have a program. Yeah That's what I mean, so Because sometimes on memories things will pop up with oh, that was such a fun concert Oh, but he was with her then never mind or oh, I was with them No, that's not good. Oh, no, we can't Here's another trend that's that's happening instead of a booty call a foodie call That's when someone agrees to a date only to get a free meal

And sometimes it's a mutual thing okay Where someone sets up a date just to have some Person to go to dinner with okay Can make that sense According to a survey on dating advice.com a third of all daters admitted To accepting a romantic dinner invitation just for the free meal We're having no Interest in an actual relationship. They just wanted the food that And do they tell the person that that's a foodie call a foodie call I think I don't know if they tell them better than a booty call Foodie calls are not just for cheap young adults 26% of people 65 and older have also admitted to a foodie call I don't know. It's not worth it. I that wouldn't be it just having to talk to some I think I'd just rather pay for myself and Uber Eves at home In my as Kate Hudson would say in my soft pants. Yeah

Just putting the effort out to eat with somebody that you don't want to talk to I don't know I that doesn't seem I Like to go do stuff by myself. I don't even call my friends to go eat or go to the movies So I'm not gonna go with a stranger and you and you will go to a restaurant all by yourself See I just I just don't think you can't do I was at well. I was at panda the other day, but I had my laptop But yeah, sure I don't Go out that much anyway, but yeah Especially like downriver I would walk up there by myself usually sit in the bar area rather than take up a whole table, but Oh You'll never ever go to eat by yourself. I don't think so really. That's a snuff. Would you go to the movies by yourself? Not anymore. I did it. I think I did it one time the last time I did it was It was phenomenon Wow, and it was after I had already seen And dependence day so both those movies on the same day and

Yeah, it's just I don't know what about if you're what about if you're in the airport and you're traveling alone Where you go into rest on there, but you wouldn't go to like twigs by yourself. No Really why? No, but that's when I when I saw this headline of foodie call it's like I Not like an a date thing, but it's like gosh. I really would like to you know I'd really want Mexican food and then like well Who might be able to join me right now, you know kind of a thing But I won't go by myself really Unless it's like to pick up to go you know, and then go home and then because you don't want to sit by your own I don't know. It's yeah, it's weird. I don't know I think half the population will and half won't I think that's a real split a lot of people won't do it You'll go to casino by yourself though. Yes That's different now will you go sit and eat a slice of pizza like would you go through and and go to the pizza place and sit at one of the Little tables and eat a pizza by yourself. Yeah, I've actually done that Okay, but you wouldn't go into like the Chinese restaurant or maslos and you know

No, see I totally will do that. Do you go to maslos? Oh, I I would I'm trying to think the last time I went out to eat by myself Uh More of a fast food. It was like um, uh, what's the mexican place that's Chipotle And I was hungry and I I didn't I wasn't gonna go home so I sat and ate by myself But lots of people were sitting eating by themselves Yeah, it doesn't bother me movies especially I and like Mary and I were talking about um Because she goes to movies by herself all the time too And when we went to see the coyote when she was to because I said we saw it she loved it She went to the gal who was next to me was all by herself. She's probably I'm gonna put her in her 30s Even she was get pretty young. She was just by herself and I thought that's me usually Taking the endspots you don't interrupt a family I just I don't I'd rather Do that then deal with somebody

Else's What they want or need or what you know, I just say Let's see. So it's nice to have someone to go eat food with Regina says I would never go out by myself or to a movie by myself. Yeah, I really think it's a I'm with you And then the other thing is I don't think I could ever be that person other than an airport lounge Yeah Like I can't be that person that sits at the bar by myself drinking. Oh wow. I just that I don't I it's weird to me In a traveling situation. Yeah, everybody it's all better off That's a kind of a free for all but if you're just gonna go like oh I go to my friendly neighborhood Bar and it's just me That's I can't get past that. Oh I don't I went when downriver was it would have to be within walking distance for me other I don't know that I would go take an uber somewhere and go to a bar. That's different. But in my neighborhood

Like kennel stop by yaya and grab a beer and he's just by himself But he usually runs into people he knows well, and then if you're you know, you can talk to the bartender to of course. Yeah But yeah, I would I do it all the time. Am I a loser or doing that? I like the Nordstrom Nordstrom cafe That you'll find a lot of women on their own. That's where you'll see the most Women by themselves having lunch is the Nordstrom cafe and and then of course groups of women It's a safe place for us. It's like we're shopping we're hungry We don't want to deal with children We don't our girlfriends are working and we're just having our salad and our iced tea leave us alone The women's lounge is the best bathroom in all of Spokane So we have the best situation here and we're in a safe place. So I think when you're alone and it's a family restaurant like last night Tomatoes street does a huge business by the way. It's Thursday. They're packed and there's big families

And then there's you can tell there's kids after ballet after karate You know, you see the kids in all their different uniforms, right? So and then you see the one guy Just by himself having a little dinner or the glass of wine. It's There's a few red flags, but you know and and I want to say take it to the bar If you're going to be by yourself. I say you take it to the bar area Well, and then and I will Augment one of the things I say why I don't like being the person at the bar. I do remember after um It was it was in Michigan and I think I had dropped my son off or something anyway There was a night where it was just me in the hotel and There was a sporting event on Television and so I went down the bar and I was that guy at a glass of wine appetizers by myself But at least I had the you know the thought of well, there's a game on so I'm see I'm watching the game and I'm like

But also if you're a hotel you could be traveling for business There's a million reasons you'd be by yourself And I think hotel lobbies are another one of those situations where there's a lot of people who are there for all singles Absolutely. Yeah, but but like Nadine she travels all over the world by herself So she's got to eat a lot of meals by herself right yeah in restaurants and I would do that and in heartbeat I would travel anywhere by myself and go and do that It's to me it's easier. It is different if you're if you're traveling but I like I can hometown Hey, it's not a day by himself. Yeah, see I don't want that. That's the thing Hey, what are you doing here waiting for some friends? Oh, you're not oh, you're just here Yeah, yeah off the board non-starter Um, oh, let's see shun it says I love going to eat or the movies by myself. It's good me time Ashley says I love going to Starbucks or Panera and getting work done while I'm there eating lunch by myself

That's good Carly says I have no problem going to eat out alone. I would probably go to the movies alone, but I just happened Jeannie went to Hawaii by herself Brenda, oh, she is I wonder if boys are more like our girls are more likely to do this by themselves Uh, Brenda says I go I go to fast food restaurants all the time and then I take myself to the movies Uh, and yeah, uh horror movies that are family won't see I would never go to a horror movie by myself worse Here's what creeps me out and this has happened to me because I go to the movies alone Well, sometimes we used to go right after the show would be like an 1130 movie at the AMC Sometimes you're the only one in there And if a scary preview comes on so I'm never gonna go to a scary movie, but if a scary preview comes on it's like And it used to be now it's all of our climbers before remember it was just this yeah, yeah, so if somebody is behind you they could see your head and Have fantasies about what to do with your head. I think just like oh, I'm gonna get her head. I don't know

Scary She says I like uh being by myself totally fine going to a restaurant by myself would go to movie. Yep Even in your hometown even like a yeah another of opposites attracting Uh, Dave won't go to a restaurant half a mile from his house by himself wherever we know is him in limpson meanwhile I'll go halfway around the world by myself for weeks and be perfectly happy that's from your girlfriend. Oh Well that's the thing too. I wonder if it's if you're Some place where you you're not gonna know anyone It's better than if it's something where you see somebody now. Absolutely. Right. Yes. That might be it But if if and and the whole travel part changes the Yeah, equation I think I mean like I said like a like a airport lounge But of course I'm gonna have wine there. I'm gonna sit by myself. I don't that's not a thing But I won't go to like I'm not gonna go to a ranch. Oh

By yourself You would even for lunch if you're starving you're like you know what? I just want to put on the to I'm gonna eat put on my eating Bib and eat Is there a time we just kind of want to be left alone like with your food? Yeah, but I'll get the food and then pregnant to my house. Yeah, I don't I guess I'm just not as social I know I'm not but I am not a very social person honestly. I think it may be because of our job like We were socialed out. Yeah, we were talking about this um with actually with our friends Michelle and Tony and they were saying that they had like alcohol left from last year's trip to Dave Matthews And they were gonna put that in the RV and I said what they said we just never drink at home ever And I said we More likely would do that then go out a lot of times. I'm the designated driver when we go out I don't drink at all. Let me go out because I it's the Uber ride everything So it's completely the opposite for me. I would rather be at home. Have a cocktail Shut it down

I don't want to have to be sure Yeah, yeah Yeah All right shifting gears here. I think this is I think you're gonna be very excited about this because you and I have a tremendous disagreement on Candy corn You claim that it is something edible It's not a thing for me the world agrees, but listen to this now. There's now going to be a candy corn perfume Yeah, smell like candy corn. Okay. It is the Brock's people the candy people They are making candy corn perfume available this fall. It's called Oh to candy corn 22 dollars and you get it at candy corn season.com Um the first batch will be released September 22nd and then another batch on October 1st The bottles are 1.7 ounces and the fragrance is not cheap

Oh, no, they say it smells like swirls together notes of creamy vanilla spun sugar and honey and this captures the coziness of the fall Yes, in every spray Get it every spray perfume 22 bucks Smell isn't cheap like it's not like a oh like a you know, it's more of a day. They want to believe that it's If there is a candy corn candle, which I believe there probably is I would burn it I love the smell of candy. You can put you can that candy corn. It is wax by itself Actually probably if you just put a wick in there with a bowl of it you probably could You know what I've been burning lately. I found um because I like to have a candle going And the only one I had left was the Christmas pine. It smells like a Christmas tree So yesterday my whole house smelled like Christmas put you in the spirit. Yeah, it was kind of nice I like to open all the windows and have a candle going and just kind of um but it

I know it's not the right season for it, but it still smells good. Yeah, it's perfect Here's the candy corn look at it. That's what it looks like. Oh, I don't know if people can see I'm gonna put that set right there. Oh mix candy corn and peanuts together lindices Yes cocktail peanuts, the delish. That's your sweet and savory right there I like everything about it. I like everything about it I had a radio friend that used to recall the you know peanuts that remember they used to serve like in a bowl But it would be like peanuts that you would just grab with your hand. Yeah, and The name for it. I can't even say the name on the air. It sounds like peanuts, but it's not just because the the assumption was that people weren't washing their hands And they were just diving in and if you were having some of those peanuts you were You know, you're susceptible to To what? Well, you know dirtiness, you know people use the bathroom and then they come in there. Yeah, so So I've always been in my head where it's like well and now bars a lot of bars don't even do it sometimes

Personal one. They'll have yes or never a group one not since the Yes, there's your own little cup. Yeah Which is better. I think that that should have been something from the very beginning that was happening not Not just a a a a a a a and then and then there's the old Throw it in the thing and kid knows it drives me crazy when he has a handful of peanuts or anything any kind of does a Like toss it in and and and I do that too. Well, it's I've found out why and I'll give you an example. So I'll just I'll use a cookie and this is what I was told So instead of you know, if you if you have like something small and you're gonna, you know, you toss it in because they don't want to be seen doing this Definitely not but they don't want or like but I don't but what's the shaking first like

There's this sort of I've not noticed that with you. I will do yeah for certain you're eating tromics Do you put it in your hands? Tromics is different because I have a port in my hand. Well, yes, like but okay, that is different than I hate it. I hate it when guys do that and I've never seen a woman do it ever Yeah, I don't know what that it's like I don't want to be seen having my fingers near my mouth because that looks feminine or like I don't know something And so now and if he takes a handful and now he does it on purpose you exaggerate well sometimes like oh like at the baseball game with the with the peanuts Yes, you crack open the shell and then you're stuck with the little you know the part they eat. Yes It is hard to just have that in your hand and then move it to your it's just you take it Well, I know but sometimes that makes me She doesn't like the talk. I don't like the talk because it looks cocky. It's like

baby Something about it. I don't get it And now what then once I told him about it then now he's like he'll do it exaggerate it I think that's a pretty good bit now Yeah for him All right, that's that's that's good for now. Let's do let's do a break when we come back Kate Hudson will join us and it's always good to catch up with her Find out what's going on in the around town for the weekend And then if you want to play Molly in the showdown. I have the questions. Yeah, she will have to answer the questions Make sure you let us know via the Dutch Bros text line Okay And I as of now I don't have a show question. I need to think back on yeah What we were talking about earlier. Dallas. He'll he'll message me secretly and give me a one to do Let me come up with one for you. No, that's not enough fair All right, so that and more as we continue Kate Hudson when we return the David Molly show

It gets stuff Remember we talked about after the walk after the walk we'd work a day right because we want to be able to talk about the walk But then then we want to have an arrest day after that going into then we talked about powering through and taking the Monday off too

Oh because there's a concert Sunday night Remember yes, we did that's the plan that is the plan. Yes, I've changed. Yes, the plan has changed Yes, we have had this discussion Okay, this is how we have our employee this is these are our employee meetings all right They'll happen on the air we want to make sure that the listeners here because they'll remember more of what we talk about than we do And then they'll say no, they'll remind us. Yes, Monday not Friday Yeah, that's right. Yeah, so that is happening. Yeah, anyhow, what's happening this weekend here? Uh, we've got the Spokane County interstate fairs Yes, we do more on that. Yes, we're gonna be at the speedy today. Oh, yes, I love this for you. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah Gonna be fun. Yeah, she's gonna get a tank Well, we're gonna get tanked up first of all and then it's go on the you're gonna get tanked. I'm not getting tanked Oh, you're not oh, you're gonna have a drink though. I don't I don't know. I don't have I don't know So our plan is we're going to the speedy. We're gonna help a cold launch the speedy. But they want us to have like a drink there

And I can't have anything if I'm gonna drive it all so I'm gonna go to the valley drop off my car and Uber In the middle of the day. She's gonna Uber to the fair. Yes, we or you should come get me Wait a minute. I'm thinking plan. No, I gotta get the dog over to the because we're gonna stand the valley So do it. I'll be the one in the Uber in the middle of the day Not grocery shopping but going to the fair and then we go to the speedy And they have the Kevin shape and Kevin shape. Yes Later, okay, and then so they want us to have drinks and then I'm gonna just walk around the fair and pet all the animals and stuff She's gonna be drunk We had a pig in here the other day you did yes, and it took it took a crap in here. The p-damp pooped. Yeah, oh Not on the floor in its little cake. Oh It's a wagon. Yeah, it was quite something So we've been we've been promoting the fair, you know every day this week with different

You know people I love this so it's you're saying this is at the bathroom corner now It was right here right there, okay, but it was it it's Like yeah, it was all contained, but there was still kind of a smell for the rest of the day Good, but anyway, you're you're here on a good day Yeah, you're here and dog pig crap Perfect. Are you going to the fair personally? I don't know. Yeah, I try to get there every year But we used to go religiously when the kids were young, because you know They love the animals My daughter goes for sure usually with her friends Because now they're into the rides. Oh, that's a big deal for the kids to hang out there It's a big who was telling I know it was Sam's daughter last year remember they went four or five times They that was what they did they went and they met at the fair because once you get in You go hang out. Yeah, yeah ride the rides. Yeah come home with ridiculous stuff to animals. Yes Play the games play the games

Yeah, all the things yeah, so I know she'll probably be there Okay, you know, but I don't know if I'll make it. Oh, we'll see I like the idea that I like the fact that they they're trying new ideas Like this whole speak easy thing that was that was new last year And you know, it's that's pretty bold thing. Hey, we're gonna do this and it turned out great this big head So they're doing that again. I like that they're Incorporating some new ways to get people because I you know, I've passed The fair time and then the kids are all older and Right, so I also like looking at all the agricultural stuff. Yeah, you know, I call the the goods It's actually I was thinking it's been a while When when Alex was little I always took him but lately there you go as a family and I it's been a while since I've actually yeah Adventure my cannon will be there today because he does a 9-11 moral thing as a he's like the honor guard So for the fire service so they'll be there and I'm thinking I said I said I know you have to be there

And he said well, I have a rehearsal and I gotta be in my class A and all this and I said well I'm gonna be tanked up so I'm gonna need right now Okay, honey, so you come find me in the cow patch I'll be somewhere with the goats He's like hey baby And so he's gonna be on official like duty and I'll be oh Well, that's all right. That's okay. Usually the other way around so today he can get me home. Oh It'll be the honorable thing to do that's right. That's right. Here you go. Well said. Do they still have the racing pigs? Remember they used to have the racing pigs. Yeah, I don't know when we got the list of things I didn't They didn't say are they had the um Yeah, like a mutton races Yeah, that's different though. That's like the peat they put kids on them. Yeah, so sensory day is Tuesday That's why we met pancake the pig and sensory days the day that they kind of shut all the they do like a six or seven hour window Where the they don't have the lights flashing in the music for the kids and they have different activities for the kids who are sensitive to that

I love that. Yeah, yeah, it's very nice. We had we've had some interesting Things that have happened at the fair when we had put different promotions and stuff out there and What's the way to tell that ever happened? Well, I've told the actual show we had the ice melting competition and It was um, I still have I still have still photos of it But it reminded me of that because the next thing over was the Was the mutton races and like the kiting and onto the deal and there was a there was a violin player and it was It's okay about the melting. How do you melt ice ice? What do you know? What do you wear a little belt ice? It's radio at 1990 are we talking big cubes like yes, yes, monster monster cubes have you seen these promotions before? Um, I don't think so so we we had I think we had five people they were all You know women And the and the and the bit is who can melt the ice the fastest and so they all have their

What could go wrong? Why are your cheeks turning red? It was a different time. It was a very different time So we had these giant blocks of ice and then we had these these women and they're You know, they're trying to run so and So over over on the grandstands there was like a fiddler show and By the by midway through the start of our Competition everybody had come to watch our event and and all these little like, you know young boys all Quite something and then they they ended up shutting us down. So they I scutt melted before the ice got meld and we had to split the money I think it was like it was supposed to be a thousand dollars like whoever won got a thousand out We ended up split like everybody just got two hundred bucks and just like put your clothes back on Put your towel out and go home

And we still I have photos of it. Yeah What is this this is It's got to have been uh, 90 93 or 94 because I remember what studio we were in because um my god We we had one of the guys that was on the air He said yeah, we just um, I'm sorry, but we have to call it The fair people are very upset with us right now and And say well don't say that. Don't we can cover this up like no one's gonna know Except the people that were there and there's no social media We just quietly shut it down and then we never speak of it Yeah, melt the ice promotion. Oh my god. I have never seen your face in next so It's all coming back to me I don't know. I don't think anyone has any video of it, but I have uh still photos of it and and just the mass group of people that saw what we were doing compared to what they were watching the wall that looks way better

Over there You know they did a naked run too, right you've heard that story. No Oh my gosh, we had a lot of catching up to do case So they did a fun. What's it? Is this the barbun Well, it that was the inspiration for but we yeah, we had a guy that that would Actually ran naked ran around the building naked naked man. Yeah, they called him naked simply naked band But then they had a bunch of listeners who ran a race. We did that too. Yep because they were from a nudist call Wasn't that but that's the one's the beer buns fun run They do that but this they did it like a track. We took we took a busload of listeners And then we went out to a track out in their way heights Just so they could so they could run naked around the thing and Ken and I are doing we're broadcasting In the bus and we're not taking off any of our clothes But we get as we pull up people start tearing up

They said naked people on the bus are bumping into you and stuff But then he just the whole thing was they just all they did they did a lap around the thing and we have interviews of that we have the actual Video interviews Wow, it was a different time My first birthday on the air they hired a stripper. I think I told them to but it was a big like a big fat guy And instead of he had a rooster where his who-ha would be and I had no idea if he was gonna actually strip down I was there I started in December and my birthday was in May so they only been with him a few months And I had no I had heard of the naked run. I had heard of this melting ice situation So I didn't know what they could possibly do and he comes in with a boom box So I he's in my face and I'm like oh my god And then he strips down and he has a huge rooster Whereas and and they were laughing and Can you even imagine this in this time a girl I'm 30

I just started there so they're my superiors and I'm you know and they're bringing a stripper to Assault me in the studio And recording the air Yes on the air live on the air And I thought it was hilarious. I was fine, but but nowadays the women of today would be like me too Yeah, you too all of you I'm seeing all on this company Oh, you put a rooster in my face. I'll own this place Wow anyway, nothing like that will happen at the future. Do you ever wonder what you're doing now that in 30 years people Right. Oh, yeah, yeah, I can't believe you had a pig on the air Yeah, that's that's that is a first. I don't know that we have had a we've had a goat we've had a kangaroo Oh, that's it. Maybe is there a little cow one time maybe oh, we probably had a cow Hey, you know, they bring those goats around they shove a goat on you and like

Yeah, uh-huh. Yep. I got one this year. You got golden. Yeah, I got go And then did you have to find somebody to go is that the yes? Um, you know, so you're kind of like on the spot like okay, uh But then yeah, it's an interesting thing that it it's hard whenever there's livestock I know do the flamingos on my lawn those are not like Now you've given me a Live being to do some creatures. Yeah, my baby goats are so big. You are so cute. Yes. My good name was Kevin. I think The goat's name is Kevin. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I know husband named Kevin. Yeah, well, she's had a husband named just about everything She's had so many so say so see in 30 years That's will be like and then every time marriage came a he always counts on her what a terrible person He was oh you could never do that today Or alcohol will be illegal. It'll only be pot and it'll be like oh you they were always tanked off you get arrested now

Speaking hey, I had a whole conversation yesterday. So so kids Sun goes to the same karate place that the girls go to they have opened a pot shop right next door. Oh I cannot spend more than two minutes inside the dojo without getting a massive headache. There's something about always a drifting The smell drifts not a burn smell is the smell of the plant so I asked the girls and I said does it bother you and they said no it smells good We like it so My son and I are watching last night and the gal who owns the pot shop happens by it's really sweet lady and we start chatting and I said I gotta tell you I said I can't believe they zoned you here first of all And she said when we first moved in we didn't we thought this place was closed because they'd be there during the day And the kids don't start coming till about 4.30. Yep. She said so I just thought it was close She said then we're working late one night all these minivan show up and I'm going oh no And but they she so there's been like two or three complaints from parents

And she said that we keep passing they come out and they test the range of odor or whatever and it's fine And I said it's it's it's just me I said I can be in the casino with cigarette smoke it doesn't bother me I said but something about the smell of weed just The plant just gives me a headache so she was very nice, but it was a learning experience because interesting I can't have you noticed it at all. Have you been inside the dough? Okay. Yeah. Oh, it's it permeates But what's weird is she said we smell the chemicals from the nail shop next door. Oh And then they smell the pie and so in the news to be a gym so basically our kids are just getting a contact Yes, I think they're all happy but the girls are like it smells like a happy flower You have no idea Very happy very happy Anyway, I just she said and then she said you know we can only be in certain neighborhoods

So that's why you'll see so many because I said well a new one another one open she said yeah There's another one down the street. She said we're only we can't be near preschool schools churches like there's all these things They can't be near so she said we all end up within blocks of each other But there's plenty of business for everybody. I said well that's good. Yeah, I'm curious How many of the karate moms just pop in there? Yeah for an edible while they're watching Yeah, because there's a pot shop over by our little coffee stand and Um He comes in the owner comes in sometimes and he said most of his clientele on the south hill is soccer mom Oh, I bet Yeah, I thought that was funny soccer moms and um People in their 70s Yeah, because you know we're the people who would never try it Right, I never would have thought when it was illegal ever ever I did I went and bought some I was having terrible insomnia like 10 years ago And I went into one of those pot shots and I just said I just need something to help me sleep and they're like right on right on right

You want to teach a man not indigo or rice versa. I'm like just I don't want to see Dracula just whatever Just I don't want to see but I would only do that because it's legal right I wouldn't it's at a poor well Was pounded into our heads the drugs are bad The same you know Depending Everything in moderation Don't smoke this natural Anyway, we digress yes, what else is happening so that we all stem from the fair That's how we got on the whole fair thing. We also have Gary Owen. Oh, yeah He is a comedian. He's at the first interstate center for the arts tonight somebody's going to that show on the text line Oh, I heard us. Thanks. It says Gary onus tonight. State night for Perfect. Yeah, so that's that's that's a big deal. I was listening to some of his standup while I was filling out this list and it was pretty funny Oh, he draws on his military experience and You know general observations as comedians do

Um, we saw Ellie Wong the other night. Oh, how was it? She draws on her experiences too and they are filthy She was it was she was just testing out material. Yeah, come through. Yeah, you mentioned that. Yeah, she was great Very funny and her opener was funny too Our our the guy that sir Carl Carl the bartender he was at that show. Yeah, same one. You were at the early one and it Christy like it to I haven't talked to her Yeah, she saw the late one Did Carl like it? Uh Carl did like it. Yeah, he said not for everyone. She's filthy Uh, yeah, yeah, and she was literally looking at note she go okay He did reference that because she was getting ready for a TV special or something So she was yeah, yeah, you're practicing yeah, and the same the guy before her too He had his notebook out and so they'd look and then he said I'm gonna do one more. I'm gonna do this one And then we don't need to pull the curtain back that far you guys I thought it was good though. It was a she had never been to spoke hand before so she was joking about

Spokane and how it was near nothing fun. Oh Yeah, you said I thought it was new Portland. I thought I was near live. I thought it was near nothing fun Like we are our own fun Mm-hmm. We bring the fun. Yes, exactly. Just bring your giant ice cubes Yes, we'll show you Quite a spectacle Oh, we also have boom jam this weekend Uh, this is an indie music festival. Oh, I think it's in its third or fourth year Uh, Spokane Convention Center. This is tomorrow. It's family friendly Um, but it's all sorts of uh indie music Uh, just kind of you know little festivals So they all have like their own little spot in the convention center. How does that work? Uh, you know the outdoor amphitheater Um, on the backside of the convention Oh, yeah, yeah, the graduates. Okay. That's a little amphitheater right there along the centennial trail So they'll have a stage set up there um, and they'll have stages set up all over With bands going and they'll have food trucks and all sorts of stuff going on. Yeah. Yeah. It's pretty cool

And then we've got the 33 artist market that's happening at upright brewing Tomorrow and Kindle yards. Uh, yes, upright is kind of you know on the backside of kindle yards there um I can't think of the street name. I want to say Elm, but I don't think that's right Uh, it's just north of kindle. Yes. Yeah. Yep. Uh, super cool brewery. Awesome Uh, and it's actually 35 artists now, but they'll be selling their wares and it's never too early to buy me a Christmas present Oh, oh, maybe go shopping I think Wally was gonna cover that. Yeah, yeah, so go drink some beer and buy some art Uh, and then uh, we've got other things going on this weekend like Ann Wilson. Uh, she's playing at the fox tonight Really really heart and Wilson? Uh, I don't think so. I don't think it's the it's the heart Wilson. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. I could be wrong. Oh, I And Wilson the musician maybe I'm wrong. Yes. That's the only Ann Wilson that I know

Yeah, from heart and Nancy Wilson, but just Ann. Yeah, and Wilson. All right. Hey, on a second. It could be her Molly's researching Let's see the star tour And Wilson uh, with support from Aiden King Aiden King spelled oddly Well, but it's not saying if it's the innocent. That's why I'm not here to see I don't well, that's a bit confusing. There's two yeah, this is I feel like you would tout that in the Yes, it says Grammy nominated singer songwriter Ann Wilson. I don't think it's that I don't think so either Different. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's not her at all. That's not Ann Wilson. It looks like the speaker and the who's the who's the who's the president's speaker person that blonde the You know, oh, okay. Well, she's she's laugh. I know, but she looks like that She's like that's that's not the little bit Cheryl Crowell look there. Yeah, yeah

All right, so sorry. I That's okay. I redirect there, but when I hear the name Ann Wilson, I think Until maybe this person will become more famous There's another one. Mm-hmm. Two Ann Wilson's out there. Yeah, it's also a march for the fallen Tomorrow, this is an honor of 9-11 typically this event has been held at Riverside State Park, but because of the fire It's been moved to the Mead Airport They do a run that you can sign up for and then they have like hit friendly activities and and whatnot climbing Junior firefighter Academy Downtown at Ru Park this weekend is Spokane City fire fighters. It's all family friendly and free as well They'll have all sorts of activities and things to do And then it's the black business expo That is also happening tomorrow at the Martin Luther King Community Center, so We've got That's what Spokane does I know

We're fun City on the rise Yes, we are are we on the move or the right? That's why we're on the move We're moving Haskell's the city on the rise I think there's lots of things I was um we were talking yesterday my friend moved into the M building Oh, yeah, she lost her house and so she's but I was saying I went downtown to pick her up I felt like I was in Manhattan or something Like crazy downtown And there was a music festival I guess last weekend and she said it went till Late and it's right under her window, but yeah, but it's loud downtown where her she's on the fifth floor and it still you could hear every car every It's a very bustling downtown. I have a coworker who moved into the M building. Um, she just moved here from Portland Oh, really one of the fun places. Yeah, but uh, Sally she loves it Yeah, she says it's fantastic living downtown. She loves him. She loves Spokane. Is she well? Is she young person or what?

She's probably in her forties Okay, yeah Well, that's so yes young and oh way young kids I think it's such an adjustment when you're used to your backyard being Riverside State Park right then all the sudden if you're a Used to apartment living I don't have any friends who live in apartments anymore really we all are Those suburb people or whatever so it's getting used to that but she said they have two gyms You park at the parkade so you got your thing They have on every floor a meeting area which you can use and then they have that um rooftop thing Yeah, you can use if you want to rent it or whatever to close base Yeah, it's really yeah, and it used to be and she lives on the bargain basement floor. Oh nice I bought a cowlore once yeah It was the fifth floor and it was sort of dimly lit but her mom used to always shop there She said so she feels like her mom is roaming the halls of the fifth floor. I love it. Macy's remember when there was that furniture Area in the basement that I bought my furniture when it was Mama Shae Marseille

Yeah, and I just remember because we had to put it on credit It was like $700 for a two-couches And I remember the bon mershade bill coming every month and we'd pay like $40 a month Yeah, but that I think that was in the basement Well, no, maybe that was on the upper floor. I can't remember. I just remember I remember those departments or so having a furniture section Totally Yep, and you could apply for a credit card and it was great Yeah, she just and I think that that's how I bought the couch because I was like 20 yeah to do money Yeah, so yeah, I did the whole thing with the credit card and like thinking oh my gosh I'm gonna pay this off. I don't have this kind of money and it was probably 38% interest Probably we sign our life now. I can't worry about it. What? Yes, Ann Wilson is a Christian singer it says oh with country it Christian faith-based country There you go. It's the other Ann Wilson. Yeah, I wonder how that works like

Don't they have to agree on like okay? Well, you're See if I were coming up as a new person and then with already and and Wilson. I think I would change my name Well, you know Katie Perry's real name is Catherine Hudson. That's right. Oh I don't want to be Kate Hudson. That's right. Kate Hudson's already think well. Yeah, clearly is Right, it's you So so so Katie Perry is really Kate Hudson. Yeah. Oh See look at all this stuff we're learning We're everywhere. Yeah, the Kate Hudson's in the world. What who is the other Michael J Fox? It was Michael a Fox. Yes, but you didn't want to be like a because he's Canadian They want that true story. Yeah, no bad. I've never heard that story. There's other people too who have had Where there are any somebody who's famous has their name and then they just change it slightly or pick a different name Well, yeah, you don't want people to be doing this like well, which Ann Wilson is exactly Which Kate Hudson is it. Yeah, there's a very famous Molly Allen

She's a producer for Oprah, and I think she's even won an Oscar. So if you google That's what comes up and it looks like wow look at my credentials She she's not like a she's just super well-known in the industry I think and like highly acclaimed but but a normal person wouldn't know but It's fun to have your name associated with all the awards and stuff I like to look at produce the color purple. I don't get much of that with my name. No You're one of a kind. Yeah That's true Davis, Pazito Created the ice cube melting Petition and got shut down the great meltdown kicked out of the Spokane fair. Yeah, we did get shut down You know, you're not living until you're your shut down. Yeah, right? Oh, it's one of it We had a lot of different things that got shut down That was one. Yeah, we did you know we hit people live on a roller coaster for 30 days I do remember that. Yeah, remember that. Yes. That was us and and one of the people got married. Yep

I vaguely recall that as well roller coaster wedding front page of the newspaper. Yep. Yep. I remember this That was and then there was the hands on there was the car But live in it and win it right people had to live in a car and then didn't use the super bowl thing What was that it was like they all got in the car, but only one person ended up at the super right? They get voted out along the super bowl survivor. Yeah, and then and they had to take a bus home Who voted them out each other? They all voted each other out. Yeah. Yeah And they and we had different little games that they had to play along right? Yeah Um, I just was thinking of something else and um Oh Oh, yes, that was the water runs dry That was the one that it's very memorable because we had people the in the studio while we're doing the show They had to drink a bottle of water like every 15 minutes and then whoever could hold out the longest without going to the bathroom

They would win tickets to see boys to men Water runs dry tour cleverly titled Well, you know, we lost a few along the way, but then what happened was they weren't You know, they didn't have to go to the bathroom, but they they just got sick Oh, and one person was trying to get out of the studio and Didn't quite get all the way out of the studio Oh, so that this is like a pie eating contest. Yes, for a stand by me We've had well and we and in high school we had the root beer drinking contest And that ended up in a all-out bar for ramah Imagine this setting here so imagine we try to do this and then like Corey and those guys are out there and all the sudden the somebody comes I just fukes all over them at their Other deaths while they're trying to get their work done. I love it. That's Basically what would you get to do like you guys need to come up with some some new stunts?

Well, they won't be anything like that. I mean you're doing your walk. Yeah, we are Walks walk would be fun. Yeah, Ken and I walked to court lane. That was that's how we did that Yeah, we walked all the way to court lane and then Ken and I jumped in a icy pool. I'm sure John's listening this morning. He's the one that talked to him that it was a it was whoever Medical it was medical lake. It was February. I believe and it was oh no Yeah, it was anyway. They cut out a block ice. We had to jump into three feet of water and I'm still mad And this was 20 something years ago. I don't know But Ken and I went and did it. I was just waking up. It was cold and cold with the bedroom by blankets on He didn't go It that was uh, yeah, that was that and then there were a couple other things that we've had to do Like that was the worst though. I'll never do that again. That was it was it was awful. Yeah, it was scarring. It's supposed to be good for you Hmm. That wasn't good for me And I was in a they said don't just wear the least clothes don't wear a bunch of clothes. You'll be sorry

See that to me makes sense though. It does Yeah, but uh, so yeah, yeah, I'm in a bikini And it's the same bikini like that I wore a Hawaii later on that year and I'm thinking well that's worth it That belongs pretty way. I have a beanie on and shoes and I'm walking out on the ice block and it was awful Yeah I was bad Yeah, there's been well the one other thing there are hands you had to have your hand on a car that was at the mall Right you had to keep one hand on a car And that was the one You can have like a basket of your stuff. I my friend Gina was working in promotions at that time and I was she had to oversee it and there is a lot of like controversy. Oh, they took their hand off for a second You had to monitor it and then people were in fighting and Well now in the day and age of you know how easy it is to have camera setup. Yes. Yep Easily like do some replicas. Yes. Mm-hmm. A little different back then. Yeah, there is a yeah

Different you have to hold different set of contests for the way things are now. Yeah Yeah, well John said but did you die Molly? You still live piece of me did die that day John it died But you know what I have a fun story to talk about right and it's on YouTube and she turned out fine Yes, you're fine. We're always fine. Yes. So will we see you next week? Yeah, okay, everybody's everything's normal next week Good journalist in town next. Oh, so we're doing all sorts of stuff. Okay, I'm gonna do Uh, I'm actually We like to tout Spokane is a beast camp for fun things So we're I'm gonna take him to route a hi-awatha Oh, yeah, one day. I'm looking forward to that. So we'll stop in Wallace as well and you know maybe if the The Bordello museum is over there. Yeah, wander through there. I love Wallace It's probably one of my favorite small towns in America. Oh, I love it. We've talked about that before I'm fascinated as well. It's just there's something about it. Yeah, I love it

Um and the architecture school And I love that they outsmarted the federal government when they put the freeway through by becoming Instead of letting them plow through the The town they designated themselves as a historic district the entire town So then they had that's where the freeway goes over it Oh, they were gonna plow right through it and ruin the town Wow It's a cool piece of information. I like it when you know you outsmart the man. Yes I love it. So we'd go Wallace but uh Yeah, so we'll do that. We'll we'll go eat something. Are your people back? We'll be able to do your run with your people tomorrow. Uh, no, they're still out. Oh yeah, so I'm on my own last week I ended up parking at the Spokane Club and I did a lovely run through downtown on the Centennial trails with the park up through Gonzaga Up to you know the Mission Park area turned around came back Nice I don't know what I'll do tomorrow But yeah, what are you guys doing? We're in training for our big walk. You know, we have to walk

Miles I've trained I've walked a mile 1.2 miles the other day I walked Sauntered and it says split time 21.1 minutes per mile I do a brisk 21 minute mile. That's okay Is that removing just keep moving yep. Yeah Yeah, we're training for that the weekend is pretty quiet though. Oh, it's not the fair today Well and football's back That's a big thing. Yeah, I The other night was I thought I was gonna turn on Jeopardy and watch a little Jeopardy Well, I'm more on that. Steady stumbled on a Seahawks game and it was the Seahawks and I actually ended up watching the whole game See good and I was actually by the end rooting, you know like yeah So there you go and I thought of you guys because you had asked me who I root for and apparently it's the Seahawks when they're playing Yeah, this is growth. Yes You're being she's becoming one of us. I've seen I've seen three whole minutes so far Of them They played in Australia last night and it just there was something it looked like a college game

I don't know there's something I don't know it just didn't it just didn't have that NFL Hazard yeah, they had a hundred thousand people there. Holy cow. Yeah, yeah, I got the stadium was pretty cool The thing that that Was my biggest takeaway was how bright it was yeah, so and maybe that's what you're thinking because I thought it looked great I you know for the parts that I saw but the it's it's rare that you see a Game that's that bright Like because sometimes in Arizona Sunday morning game will look like that or something But there's but no one ever plays in the morning. Yeah Like even like local times as early as the earliest you're ever gonna play a pro pro game That's why it said it looks like a college game because they play early. I think maybe that's what it is maybe yeah So it just has a yeah it had that weird thing but football's back. It's very exciting. Yes We had multiple conversations though people are getting upset and the NFL is

Right on that threshold of really pissing people off because there's it's so many different uh, streaming services. Yeah, I know. I don't know where to like Usually it was just on this chest. That's one of the things and that's that is a that's a big thing Well, first of all, where is the game and then second of all do I have that streaming service and then you got to pay for all this other stuff Um We had some friends that they they have a team that's not a local team so they buy the package To watch their team every week. Well if that team happens to be playing Oh, there's there's some some deal where there's three games a year Even though they bought this fault they paid 500 bucks to buy that thing for the to always be able to see their team There's three games a year where they still can't see their team. What yeah So that and there's that that's just once there's a lot of people that are in that same boat where it's like well I I have Amazon I have Netflix. I have all the have ESPN

I've got all and I have all the major networks and oh no, but this one is on the NFL network only on the NFL network Oh, that's an extra thing That's annoying. I tell they get you So hopefully Regina is almost five hundred dollars for red zone and don't they play commercials in the red zone now? Yeah, well they uh Last year they started they were just the little side mm-hmm like 15 second things I don't know how my red zone is gonna work this year. I need to figure that out Because I I was paying ten dollars a month for it, but now the red zone got bought by somebody else and I don't know What are you gonna do? I don't know what I'm gonna do and I'm actually very concerned. I think this is gonna mess with my Well, be yeah Yep, she says the yeah The NFL is gonna lose viewers. This is ridiculous They managed dreaming sites that the games are on now I yeah And the kugas play tomorrow at nine o'clock in the morning. Yes

Lot of football It is kind of cozy oh, it's great, you know, so great Thrill up on the cow cheat snacks Soft pants I mentioned soft pants are yes. Yeah, you get that you did you invent us? You know what the person who hired me at visit spoke can is Tim Robinson was his name Uh, he was married to Jane McCarthy. Oh, I know jane. I love Jack. Yeah, it's her husband. He hired me He was our my boss for a time and he was the one that said soft pants to me for the first time And I remember thinking stop that's what is that and then he goes by sweat Yes, they're soft Sounds like a nice thing to say so now I have adopted soft pants. Well, and when she says that we always say you know We give you credit for it. Yeah, we always credit you. Well, I'll take the credit now Yeah, it's Tim's in Seattle now, so it doesn't it doesn't matter Here's a question. Will you go to a restaurant alone and eat yes, will you go to the movies alone? Yep, you go to the theater alone. Yeah I think women are more likely to do it. I won't do any of those because I said well, I said here's the thing I would rather

Go alone It rather than because they have a thing called foodie call instead of a booty call where somebody just wants to eat Something else. Yeah, so you don't because you don't we don't want to eat alone. Right. So but I said I would Sooner get the food and then stay in my self-pants and eat myself Right, but I don't mind going out by myself. Well, I imagine with your job too. You're gonna be out doing stuff And you're gonna be on your own in Spokane having to do Yeah, but would you go to like what like you Trying to think of a place that you would normally go for a restaurant like what like with the family or with you know Yeah, like To the two seven oh, okay, so would you go to the two seven out by yourself? Yes 100 even though they all know you there. Yeah, do you know Carl? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's who I was talking about earlier So yes Absolutely, I'd probably be more apt to go alone do a place that I go often Yeah, that might And the bar situation is different, but like I like they're like the rancho or the Mexican place that I like upon the hill

I just can't go there by myself Really yeah, yeah, you go to debt like you leave here You're starving you and they have a special at denny's and they're like you can get 18 of this for whatever Would you ever go and eat like a breakfast by yourself? I don't think so I would pick it up. I would pick it up and bring it home interesting. Hey speaking of that We had food from Rosie's the other day. Oh, yeah, have you been to Rosie's? Yeah. Oh my god That was very good. We had it delivered and it was hot because it's so close. Yeah, it was really good food Yeah, it's I like the looks of the place, but I've never eaten in there Yeah, I ate their Once when they first opened. Yeah, it's fine. I'm really good Yeah, that was a hearty meal. Yeah, it was it was good Yeah, I don't mind going places by myself. I don't either I kind of like and sometimes I like I've enjoyed going to the movies alone. I prefer it Just sit and you know, snuggle in and yeah, you might always get popcorn. I have to have to have a drink and a coke

Um, I don't want to go to the movies My thing is I end up with the kids most the time. Yeah, Ken and I have only seen a few movies our whole relationship We've only seen I bet five movies together. Maybe it's always with the kids, which is fine But if it's not I would never call a friend and say hey, I really want to see this movie Do you want to come with me? I would just go. Yeah same Yeah, yeah, just easier I think so to say where you want nobody just chatting at you Talked to anybody because you can't talk during the movie anyway, so here here's a situation So you like you would be like me because popcorn and I go come on I'm already but if I spot myself and this would not happen because I wouldn't be me But what happens if you have to go to the bathroom? Do you have to leave your stuff there? Yeah, and then you're gonna then you're gonna come back and hope that no one is No one will repeat you may sell it Yes, nobody's gonna bother it. See, I always have a blanket with me. I would be I want I need someone to guard my stuff You can't trust me people You know hold it and you're gonna have to do that last night we went to tomato street

And you know they have these chalkboards. So I took one of the kids up to the front chalkboard Then my son had the other one. Well, we left the table unattended, right? We hadn't even dinner. That's a problem He left his phone in the middle of the table on purpose and he's within I said The bus boys come and just start busing our table and I said you guys I said, where what are you? What are you? I know sorry. We just realized so there's like Forks in his doctor pepper and the friends all this Not like and he was still he had his calmari basket there And he hadn't finished it and he said I don't I didn't know what happened They let that give you more well. He didn't ask for my I thought he was kind of done with it But but his point was he said I don't know what happened to this while I was gone Who knows what they were dumping in there when you're busing a table is all all hell breaks loose Yeah, she shoved things and everywhere So you need a garnered the kids were funny though because we know we know really sorry I said but I said there's a phone seen their eye see that now. I'm sorry

And then the waiter I said you would think the phone would have been he goes yeah, you'd think so Well, but then we got fresh bread and everything I would find but the gardening didn't happen I said you guys can't leave the table in a tent. Yeah It's can at least the kid was excited about his job. Yeah, they were very hard It's very musically busing the table. Yeah very on it. Yeah Okay, well, do we know did? Mm-hmm guard the table guard the table. No, we just gonna bother you like think about the logistics of it It's probably gonna be a not very crowded movie. It's gonna be the middle of the day or something And who's gonna go oh my god, that guy's the sleepest popcorn. Oh my god. I'm just waiting I'm gonna have on it my moment I've been waiting for them to get on I just I don't like just I don't like leaving food and and then coming back to it you don't know what could have happened to it I'm gonna guess 99.9% of the time nothing. Well, well Exactly, it only takes one

Do you bring a blanket with you in the movies? Oh, I always have to have a especially in the summer because they crank the AC This is true And so the kids we always have our own blankets. So we just it's like a big campground We're all sprawled out there. Yeah I like that. I gotta have a blanket. They sell blankets now at the movie. Do they really? Very smart. Yeah, really? Yep Are they 50 bucks? But they're like movie related, you know, whatever the That's minions or whatever it'll be a minion blanket, but they're smart because they I think they saw everybody was bringing blankets in with them Really? Gotta get out on that All right, Kate. We'll see you next week. Okay. Okay. Yep. Love it We need to play the showdown Molly will be in the hot seat today I got the questions ready to go if you want to play Molly You got to check in with us via the Dutch Bros. Textline 509-448-3237 All kinds of different questions. Okay. You're gonna score well. There's some over and under questions There's pick one of these two kind of things. Okay. Just just guessing you're gonna be fine. All right

We'll see. Hey, can I ask a favor this time? Could you write down the score? I'm gonna write down score I'm gonna be better That's a problem. I was very upset. Listen, I don't think Dave gave you all the points I don't think I will think he did was he writing it down. I said well that you could have discussed that with him I there was one mistake and it was because I was making either a Line or a check and one of my checks looks like a line. I've done that. That's where it's like I missed one and then there was the Controverso. I have totally done that. Everything is fine. Here's the other thing will happen Is that I'll make the line and then you'll go back and say the right one So then I have to go back and turn it into a check. Oh, and then that can happen so it happens to the best What happens to the best but don't don't my mom's gonna get very anxious Very sorry. I'm sorry. I Disparaged your daughter I said she got grush playing the game. No, very close very close Which is worse hiring the stripper

Yeah, so I've gotten way better All right, we're back after break. This is the David Molly show It's time for Dave's cash showdown time for you to throw down Winning in a minute and sit in Dave comes in and answers in again If you scores inferior the day will rain superior. Okay, Aaron's gonna play. Okay, Aaron's gonna play Molly versus Aaron. Have I played against a boy yet? I think it's been all girls. Oh, I think it is. It's a play last week

Is this Aaron This is Aaron Morning, have you ever played the showdown when it was against me? I have it's been quite a long time now. Okay, well you're one of the You're gonna be one of the few people in human history that have played both of us right? It's not meant. There's not many That's right. Maybe four in the whole the whole history of the world I can't remember who I played the first week because I can't see it on here Uh, but I I won one Oh Molly and I played that's what it was. It was a tie Molly and I played against Kevin Parker and Kelly and Kelly that's right That was one of the weeks and then I have a loss and I have a tie. So I'm sort of like I've got a little bit of everything. So What Yeah, you know Okay, uh, and uh, I don't have any money so there's no money questions and I believe I've got a show question

I didn't write it down. It's kind of in my head. How about this? I owe you five dollars. So can I get my five dollars pack if I get someone Right no, you still want five dollars. Let me give you a And get give me a break even question Uh, I think you're gonna do very well. Okay, let me just say that all right But you're at first a couple questions you might be like oh no, he's doing it again But then I think it'll okay, there's some guesses. So Molly's gonna leave the studio. Okay And Aaron I will have the questions for you She's getting untangled. Okay. She's standing up She's she's looking for her phone She's got her phone. She's open the door. Okay, ready to play I'm ready. Okay, here we go. Uh, I got the I got the questions for you. We'll start with number one Over or under 120 million How many people watched last year's Super Bowl TV broadcast win for the Seahawks Yeah

120 million yeah over under under Let's go over okay What is the square root of 144? Oh, Lord, what's the last question is really Dave? I know All right moving on oh Yes moving on that's gonna take you on in the United States who sells more pizzas annually Dominoes or pizza Hut Dominoes okay In Spokane County which zip code has more homes 99208 or 99205 Oh More homes Let's go 99205 okay What classic song starts with the lyric

There's a lady who sure all that glitters is gold Is There's a lady who sure Hmm it's the older song Okay, we can come back to it. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right. Here's the next one spell pennsylvania Pencilvania yep T E N N S Y L V A N I A And can we go let's go with Eric Clapton on the other one. Okay, oh yeah, all right Montana has only one area code for the entire state. What is it? Erie code Okay, I don't know okay

I have no idea eight something all right here's here's one you can guess on Billy crystal or Johnny Carson who has hosted the Academy Awards more often Billy crystal okay, and Here's your next question name three of the ingredients for a standard long-eilo nice tea Uh It's got a lot of alcohol and I know and I'm not much of a drinker um I don't know vodka will say is in there how many of my name is just name three there's like there's like 11 different ingredients But name three oh lord. Okay, let's go with vodka rum whiskey I don't know okay good and then your final question the show question Uh last night at wine night Dave had a sensible salad and what else

I don't think I was tuned in that early um Whatever the usual choices um Not usual let's say I don't know like a flat bread or something okay very good All right, we are we are done we've completed your part all right Molly's coming into this studio Here we go Yeah Yeah, I found out some wonderful news while I was out there what is the wonderful news our friend coli chokes gonna come in for oh good Yeah, she's all dressed in red and she looks so nice. Okay, so anyway you can come in a little bit All right, you ready for uh you're the questions? Sure. Okay. We'll try to get through this pretty quick. All right. All right Here we go Over under 120 million how many people watched last year's Super Bowl TV broadcast win for the sea hogs Um, I think it was 125 million both over okay Uh, what is the square root of 144 I 12 I have no idea right throwing it out there

In the United States who sells more pizzas annually dominoes or pizza hut Dominoes okay In Spokane County which zip code has more homes 99 208 or 99 205 25 Okay What classic song starts with the lyric oh no There's a lady who sure all the glitters is gold very good Spell Pennsylvania um PE NN S Y L I V I N I have no idea vania N I A okay Montana has only one area code for the entire state What is it No idea how would I know that Billy crystal or Johnny Carson

Who hosted the Academy Award show more often Billy crystal okay Name three of the 10 ingredients in a long isle and iced tea Um vodka Coca-Cola and rum okay And your last question uh in addition to the sensible sound of it last night at one night what else did Dave eat I don't think you said what you ate I don't remember you saying what you ate You said sensible I know in the dean had chili right But I don't I I thought you said The sensible cell but I don't I don't I don't remember you saying your food choice Not going to come into play it's not I think I have a final score. Oh no Okay, I think I added right this time okay final score Molly wins six to four

Yeah, you did you did the classic uh I have no idea and then you said the right answer yeah Oh good okay well Montana I don't have any idea Did she know Montana zip or Eric? I do know it now with 406 That's very good. And in my head I thought zip code I don't know there's zip code but air when you I heard it read back I was like oh it's for a six. It's area code Yeah, yeah, just have to you just have to know one person that lives in Montana I think that's the yeah if it were LA I know all those because I know people there But okay, I wouldn't have helped me so I had it okay Very spirited round so yes, there was a hundred and twenty five almost a hundred and twenty six million people that watched the Super Bowl last year so that was over okay, good square root of one 44 is 12 what even though you had no idea Listen to me That is I know nothing about ma I truly guess dominoes almost twice as much as pizza hut

Things have changed over the years Spoken county more people live more homes in 208 than 205 208's north oh There's 58,000 in 208 41,000 in 205 okay Stairway to heaven is the song There's a way to get that no okay, okay She correctly spelled Pennsylvania you missed it by a letter Okay Neither one of you got the Montana 406 area code okay Both of you got Billy crystal has hosted more than Johnny Carson okay, but the all-time champion So Billy crystals hosted the Academy Awards nine times Really Johnny Carson five times okay Bob Hope 19 times what yeah, it's all old school. Oh my god And then the 10 ingredients in a long island iced tea she got two of them

You got three of them but it basically you could just start picking stuff yeah, so much vodka rum gin tequila triple sec lemon juice cola and simple syrup And it is those alcohols are in there all in different forms and I I put it In the order of the most okay, so mostly mostly vodka then wrong then Jim Jen and tequila yeah packs a punch oh and and I could make a case definitely for rum and vodka together and for vodka and gin together But when I can't make a case for it's rum and tequila and then gin and any of that that just well I mean yeah gin and rum together you gotta know what you're getting into it can wreck you if not yes And then on the the show question I had a side of the Pasta salad corn pasta salad So it was was mentioned it was mentioned dang it but you did win six to four And Aaron you played great you sounded great. What do we have for Aaron for playing the game today?

Well congratulations from our friends in America credit union pralcabons of Dave's cash showdown America credit union they will make sure that you're always happy if you go to an America credit union Maybe you just had a long island iced tea and can't even look at anybody straight Anymore can't even speak they will help you because the America credit union is your friend They'll always be your friend when you're having corn pasta salad or watching a super bowl or singing Starway to heaven the America credit union is your credit union and five three cups of Dutch love from okay Okay, I said bro Serve this breakfast today. Yes, it was very good. You haven't had breakfast He did it Dutch bros And you like the chorizo situation. Yes, I do yeah, and it's got it's got a little spice to it Almost got one of those today, but I went actually have another slider and they're only one my sliders Uh on the text line multiple people had the corn pasta. Yes, and then multiple people had the 406 And what was the other question of something else?

Kelly said what the hell are these showdown questions worked out for me Worked out fine for me, but I honestly at the square root thing I swear to god. There's no I there is no way I know that I just grabbed a number that I'm so stupid when it comes to that I just and then The super bowl when I was pretty confident I remember the number 125 and the dominoes I kind of I was pretty confident on that one the corn pasta That makes me mad because I was listening and I was actually thinking earlier I bet he's gonna ask and I thought he's oh he only had the salad last night some reason I slipped by me slip by her dammit Delma damn it. Well, thanks for playing Aaron and let me know if you want us to mail you or a card or if you want a picture of it We can do either one for you and um, um, yeah, I'll have you mail it because some sensitive past along to my kid Okay, just send me your uh your last name and and eem uh and address again for me

Okay, uh, let's do a break here. We do have entertainment news. We'll get to that and then you say cli's gonna be able to come in Whenever we wanted to see her so I thought, okay, you know, yeah, we always like to see cli right? Yeah for Friday Be actually good. All right, we'll do this break and then we'll come back with the entertainment news when we return This is the david molly show from the new America studio Oh Entertainment news Brought to you by golden rule break. All right, let's check our entertainment news shall we uh, let's start with um Uh, we have a couple of major stars uh to mention uh, one is Jennifer Lawrence. We'll get to her in a second I'm gonna turn anything about her in a while. Yeah, uh and uh the second is Sharon Stone Okay, Sharon Stone. What do you know about Sharon Stone? I know that she um Is an actress. Yes, at one point she did a movie where she Uncrossed her legs and recrossed them again and showed her who ha and became very famous for it

Yeah Kind of something she used to be I guess There was some chatter out there that she um Uh, enjoyed sex a lot and that she would She would seek out uh different people and lots of different people Mm-hmm. Who's that that that was part of her life. Well now now Way different deal. Oh She has been celibate for a while because she doesn't want to sleep around anymore Okay And we have to announce this of course. Yes. I'm not sleeping around anymore. She says Sharon Stone Uh, she says I want someone that's my companion not just someone to have sex with. I'm kind of bored with all that So I'm in the no luck at all phase right now. Oh But I think that's the phase you need to be willing to be in to have things the way you really want them all right Well, thanks for sharing she is 68 years old

Okay What 68 year old women can't have sex-dave they can't have intercourse I can't enjoy the love making Can't enjoy their own bodies Oh, I'm not saying that way did it wait at what age would you like women to stop No, that's not my you know, you're just pounding on me for no reason Just because I didn't immediately respond to something you said is 68 She's 68 well, but here's what I'm saying though if she did in the time when she was You know a big superstar actress and she's You know claiming or there's reports that say that she used to have lots of different people for a lot of different partners I'm just wondering if she's saying oh, I've been selling it for a while because I'm looking for the right person Maybe people aren't saying yes to her. Oh It's all I'm saying maybe she doesn't have as many offers as she is exactly She's a woman of a certain age well, I think as 68 year old goes. I think she's pretty smoke and hot still

Gosh, she looks great. She used to be very good friends with Gary Shanley who's one of my all-time favorite people she was at my uncles 40th birthday party maybe 45th and I remember a conversation I think I can share it because it made me laugh that when we got home to the house My aunt Kelly went oh who am I oh, John oh, I'm dancing. I'm sharing stone Oh John John Travolta So she was a little Oh, hello, I'm sharing stone. I thought it was hilarious. It was funny. It was really funny And I watched Sharon Stone you know Especially on the dance floor all the women wanted to dance with John especially no back then But that's always a thing. It's okay dance with you. I've been dreaming about you. There was a kid Minimum so she her making fun of it and being a little jealous was adorable But I think Sharon Stone maybe had that reputation which is why Kelly was moved to

To be a little jealous. So I make sense now And my love for Kelly Preston is always there, but now I extra love her because that's hilarious. It was hilarious It was really funny. Yeah I just you just don't think people at that level. It's like well, you're Kelly I feel impressed to like you're not gonna be but then you go. We have but she's it's kind of like if Your spouse comes from and such. They're gonna do a movie with Angelina Jolie No, I'm sure Aniston was like I don't know about that and she was right. She said no They have a reputation That's good story. Oh, and the here's the Jennifer Lawrence thing So We and you kind of said we haven't heard much from her. Yeah, well because she's not really a social media person But now she says she wants to try out Instagram. Okay, but she says her words exactly If people are mean, I'm going to quit

Good luck. Yeah, you'll ask about two days Um, that's she she posted a video saying So yeah, I'm giving it a shot and if anyone says anything negative I will quit immediately No questions ask if anyone thinks something if anyone thinks something mean I'll know I'll know and then I'll quit Okay, but Don't even start then because somebody's gonna say something mean or they're gonna think it There's nobody who gets away with just positive social media presence I can't think of anybody maybe there's a lot of haters out there even dolly pardon even in her death You had people saying mean things about her. So that's social media. That's So if you're looking for Jennifer Lawrence Uh, you have to look for Jay law Because Jennifer Lawrence was already taken Um, all right. I'm gonna look for Jay law. Okay, a second. And I like I like Jennifer Lawrence. I do too

So She gets lots of followers and doesn't uh mean things said about her just Jay law. Yep. Altogether. No space Uh Oh, Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah, here she is say American actress Um Yeah, Jennifer Lawrence was taken so Jayla. Oh my my cousin Ella is following her But it only has a few oh four point three million followers. Yeah, I was like only three of my friend followers No 19 of my friends follow her already This and this just happened like she just did this a couple days ago Yeah, so of of my people 19 Um are also following Jay law so she's getting the word out Jody turnels one of them. Oh Don't make me Jody turn all you Um, okay, so that's cool. So yeah, so let's see if she's got a pot. She has one post and it's um I think it's like the post that I just read

Oh, that's it Let's see what she's having to say hang on No questions. Yeah, mm-hmm. Thanks Something me Yeah I think she's joking When I'm watching her deliver it she's totally joking. She's like oh no. Oh no. No, she's I think that she's tongue in cheek I do I believe that she knows that people are going to be I think that that is it now that I see her she looks amazing First of all, but I think now that I'm hearing how she's saying it. I think that she knows that Yeah And then you're very excited aren't you? I don't know tonight's the night practical magic too. Oh, yes I actually am excited for that movie Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return is Sally and Jillian Owens I don't know how much business this will do, but I know there is a fan base I enjoy it. Hmm they look great And it's kind of continuing the same thing now they have daughters and

You know the premises anybody they love dies Because there was a spell cast when they were Like from years beyond their ancestors the one which She casts the spell and it's out forever It's real you guys at us And then there's something called runner Alan Richardson the the the the reacher guy. Yes He is helping Owen Wilson transport a liver to a girl who needs an organ transplant When they're attacked by people who want to sell it on the black market That old story runner runner rated PG 13 because it's say it's an action comedy It's got to be a comedy action comedy because those two guys he's he's richer and then of course And it's Owen Wilson though I honestly do not know if it's better be because they're both really funny Owen Wilson doesn't seem like he would be like

In the straight action like a straight action movie Not have some comedy in there Let's see Uh still waiting Um, I was gonna look at the trailer It was very dark There was a lot of things And now Come on, let's go let's go Kelly has a 194 mutual followers of jennifer Lawrence cheese yeah Uh, I don't think this is a comedy really yeah, no clearly not a comedy really no What's Owen Wilson doing we need you to be funny man. Yeah, all right. Yeah, I'm done with that Okay All right, let's do a breakout. I think collie's gonna be in game. We'll find out what uh what her weekends all about Okay, uh that and then our hot topic segment in our final hour. This is the david molly show from the new marcus studio

We now return to the david molly show Hey, welcome back everybody david molly show continues with our friend culli happy friday culli Hello, how are you guys today good ready for a week with three weekend three day weekend Um, why what are you doing on my way? It's him Golf tournament nice. Oh nice and I don't know how to work any of this stuff I'm just I'm really and I've done this golf tournament multiple times But and it always starts like at 11 o'clock and they but they have a breakfast thing and everything So I usually am flying out there. I missed the breakfast. I'm all rattled and it's everything Well this time having the morning off Sleep in a little bit get there take full advantage of the big breakfast. Is it a fundraiser? Uh, it's it's a cotton Classic for meals on wheels. Oh cool. See you're doing he's doing philanthropy. Yes. I'm doing the work of the people Yes, well, we're off if we're he's flandering we're off he's flandering

Landering not to be him Yeah, so That'd be good. Yeah, well fun that you guys have we've talked about it like you guys make your own schedule So that's kind of the benefit to be an in charge of yourself It's the one benefit, right? I know And then you you you got some fun stuff and two back-and-back days tonight. Yes, and tomorrow morning both involve football Yeah, well, I told Dave because I cared little about the game itself with his Seattle And then I was like actually I'm going to a high school football game tonight and I Watching the coops of our morning, but I'm more excited about the social engagements around it So we have friends coming over for we call it nacho nacho mf. Friday. Okay. My friend coined it like I swear 15 years ago And then we've maintained it We don't have it the real word when you're talking like when you're talking back and forth you say the real word. Yeah Mfing yeah, yeah

So so what happens for this you guys that you're making nachos everybody has a nacho and then you go to the game Or do you go to the game and then have the nachos the games now are six o'clock which you see the it's a mead versus School out of the tri cities that I can't think of Chiawana Chiawana, which is a good team. Well, meads good. Yeah, mead is like the favorite to win the G.S. We're hoping yeah So we'll see but yeah, so the friends are coming over before the game. Okay Luckily Yeah, do you know anybody who's playing in the game? Um, well my son's on the team, but he's injured. Oh Yes, but all these friends that are coming over they've got boys on the team. Oh perfect. Yeah, fun And so yeah, we'll do that and then the game will be done early so depending on How everyone feels maybe they'll go have a drink somewhere. Boy, you see that's that's when it gets really good when it's like You have the pre-funk then you have the actual thing and then the thing ends up saying hey you guys want to just come on over and do this Or we're gonna all do this together make a night of it. I know what my friend. I was on a walk with her yesterday

And she's like well, I don't want to be Like I'm going to a children's event like I want to be tamed. Yeah, going to a high school football game Yeah, I'm like okay. I guess good point good point good point. Yes, very good point So yeah, thank adults can go have a cocktail at someone's house or we've been talking about it's a union stadium is up in Mead and it's on old market street and there's a bar called the Larry yet, which I have not been to but we've been talking about hitting that place up Since our boys started playing football three years ago at you. Yeah, okay, so that should be fun And then but we can't get crazy tonight because as I mentioned kooks play tomorrow nine o'clock kickoff Yeah, and we got family coming over. We're gonna do is it just family tomorrow just my parents will be very relaxed And you're gonna have you're gonna have drinks for the nine o'clock. Oh always mimosas. Yeah Do you do mimosas with champagne or per seco? Oh Both usually though. It's just the giant bottle of cooks mix with oh

You don't like champagne. I like per seco better. They're so little sweet. It gives a headache I don't know, but it doesn't have to be expensive. Yeah per seco, but just I don't know I feel like a lot of times I'm Well, per seco is usually sweeter a lot of times like a nicer champagne. I feel like they're more dry. Yes. Yes. I think that is the thing Yeah, so yeah, we don't discriminate Then I've time to take a nap and then I emcee an event tomorrow for big brothers big sisters. Oh, so you're gonna have to be somewhat You know Under control You can't like pass out after the kooker game and then and then try to reroute me for yes and Dave Don't you live at home alone Yes, my daughter is there in and out. See I saw have to set example for the people around me. I can't be like well I was drunk Friday night after the high school football game Well, I'm drunk again this morning at 11 o'clock for the kooker football game But then you're gonna do a charity event for the for the community. Yes, so

Yeah for big brothers big sisters Where's the Hemingstein Center in that's where we're doing our event. Oh, wow The same event nice. Yeah, I've never done anything in there. So I want to hear all about it. Yeah, I don't know it well either I think I've been there one time for the I need to look. I don't think I don't know I don't want to I can visit like a is there an auction thing too and like a whole the whole Yes, I'm really curious about how they're setting it up how everything is gonna work because are you in charge? Or do you have like organizers? Wow, it's me and my friend Mary. She's co-chair, but she's been a little distracted with the fires and all Right, so I mean we have a committee of course, but mostly it's like Yeah, it's a lot. Yeah, but we've never been there. They have very strict rules about alcohol and uh auctioning alcohol and you can't have donated alcohol the liquor board was very hard on them because they have a bar somewhere in contact I like a new Are they allowing alcohol the games now or something? They've had wine wine and beer and in some of the

So I don't know if you get hard liquor there and so the liquor board is in general very very strict But they have rules, but I will say their prices compared to all the other venues in town are amazing Oh, that's a rental price is really really good for nonprofits. Yeah, sometimes I'm in a really beautiful space And I'm just thinking of the overhead. Yes. I'm not an event organizer So I don't know but like there is a benefit if you're actually trying to raise money sometimes like when the overheads lower Yeah, sure, right money. I know and people like we like it when you have it here here. Well, that's great except it's $7,000 to be there. So do you want your money to go to paying the rent for someplace or do you want as to Maybe we just make the fun ourselves But I that it's a really nice venue. They have a little outdoor area Like a little teeny balcony type thing and there's windows and either side. So it's really pretty Have you hosted this event? No, not obviously there, but yeah, like with connected with that group

I have in years past it hasn't been an annual thing And I had a little sis when I first started in Spokane. It was 2006 and she was 12 13 years old And I remember I started at our old station And I was on the more they put me on the morning show and I was like I have no kids I have all this time in the day I so they hooked me up with this girl named cat and Now she's like this wonderful woman who has a little family of her own her and her husband are nurses. They have two kids They live in the Indian trail neighborhood as they are still keeping touch. Yeah, wow Oh, that's a great story. Yeah, she was an awesome person um I always say people are like wow you really made a difference in her life and I'm like She was pretty cool like she was gonna do well no matter what it was more like an honor for me and My family to be part of her life Um, but yeah, it's a total success story So so how often did you like we do like once a week you would yeah when you When during mat time it was like I think one

So weak I believe Every other week or something like that and then we just go out and do something And so it's usually kids who are coming from like a single parent home or some kind of He wouldn't usually find a kid who has a mom and a dad and a bunch of siblings in this program, right? It's normally like yeah, the idea is like an adult mentor But I know there's sometimes where it's there's so many siblings and not enough Enough enough Parents at home like investing quality quality time with every single kid So I know some parents sign their kids up in like situations like that as well. That makes sense So you were like in your early 20s and then she was like 12 Yeah, I still remember telling her when I was pregnant with my daughter We are at the North Town Mall like we went to the mall we're eating in the food part and I told her I was pregnant with Leia Who's 19 now oh my gosh And so yeah, I was really full circle like she was there when my kids were born

She moved away because her husband that she met right out of high school or even in high school He was in the military so they went to Hawaii they went to DC And then they moved back I believe within the last five or six years But yeah, like we went to her first child's first birthday And again, I'm like this is so surreal. It's like her husband her baby My two kids that weren't born when I met her So it's pretty cool. So we casually stay in touch And then they ask you to host the the event yeah, yeah, yeah, and you will they have you'll tell your story Yeah, yeah, so I'll share a couple of pictures. It's like the day cat and I met I think I have the one from when she graduated she went to Rogers High School and then one of her cute little family Uh, is there and you said there's an auction? There is a lot of action here. You or do you have to do yeah rose backs? Oh good. She's great. Yeah, I know. She's amazing I don't know those events like like I oh you always have to say yes, and I you know do do a bunch of them

Um, but when they say oh and we have an auction too. How are you with the auction? I was like I say You don't have to pay me. We'll work out something else But get a real auction here because you get your you get your money's worth with that is always my advice. Yeah always It's like it it can turn so there's a pacing to it like it can turn so awkward if The person doesn't know what they're doing like I only ever been asked to do it once and it wasn't like a big event or anything Like there were a couple items. It wasn't that big of a deal But just in that I could sense like this Requires a professional. I had there was one that was a Friday This is probably four or five years ago. It was after it was after the pandemic But it was a Friday It was at the casino and I was the host and auctioneer And and I was fighting a cold and I'm tired. It's Friday I mean it's like everything that could go wrong was you know, yeah, and It was um Not only did they have like 12 auction items

Then they had a dessert thing that was its separate auction So I might by the end of the night. I had a horrible headache. I had no voice left. Oh And but but had there been an auctioneer or just another person just to give my voice a break If you can switch off at least I just always do it for safety net when we first started We couldn't afford an auctioneer and I just did it. I am seed and I would do the auctioneer But it was more of a there were 150 people. Yeah, everybody knew us We I turned it into a comedy bit We joke around but then that thought was because I knew everybody I wasn't willing to push certain people And they said you're if it was strangers maybe plus I'd not a professional But also your auctioneer needs to be willing to make people spend money And when you personally know somebody's financial situation you're like Oh, you know, you know you get him into a battle and you're like oh god What have I done to this person? No, this is horrible. That's funny And so it's decided like just get a professional. We have Tom Sherry who does ours. He does great. Yeah

He's fast. I feel like the last time I went and he was the auctioneer I was oh well I was having fun because I feel like rarely am I just in the audience at the Yes, yeah, it's so fun. It was so fun to bid people up. Yeah. Yeah I did inadvertently get a few things that didn't mean to get You're just in there to pump up the numbers. Yes. You know what rose sold me rose sold me my My headstone. Yeah, my plot. That was a rose thing. Yep. She tried really hard. I jumped in at a thousand dollars And she's like 1020 1020 that's 20 I mean she started it. How about a thousand and one dollar started with like 1500 and then she's slowly realized like oh boy. This isn't gonna happen How much is it worth though? Like 4500 dollars. Yes. So we're always gonna repackage it and I should do that. I still have it obviously That doesn't expire until you do Because that wouldn't make sense like only good till 20 20 sorry Sorry, better hurry up and die

We were gonna package it. We were gonna try to get some like Parasailing and our parachute or bungee jumping and then we were gonna package it together As a thing and be like here it is and in case anything goes wrong You already have your funeral plot. That's so funny But I almost had it sold to one of our listeners Somebody somebody died and they said hey Where these people need a plot and they don't have a lot of money how much but you want and I said I'll do it for when I paid for it You know like I'm not gonna try to make money on it, but then they they didn't need it Still for sale. Why did you came back alive? You have a different plan for when you die? Well my mom goes why would you want to be it and you're not gonna know anybody there I will be dead And it's close to my house and actually it's the cemetery the fire went through it. I I believe Well, so Mary whose house got lost her parents are at The veterans they're on the bluff Buried on the bluff of that thing and that got decimated And she said so not only is my house gone my where my parents are buried got also just all of it

But it's there it's like in that area I just oh yeah, I have a different plan. Okay, I mean I don't really have a plan, but I don't Do you have a plan Dave? I have a plan for anything. Where would you like to be laid to rest and do you have a thousand dollars? Yeah I'm not sure and no Do you think I want to be sprinkled somewhere though? I don't I don't think I want to be where yeah I think once I think I'm okay with that like I I want to consume less space as possible so they can Turn me into you know little thing a little do you think that so do you want there to be a place where people can go To visit you because none of my only my one gram well maybe there's like most of my family There is no place where I can go see them on a plot They wish there was I don't know Because I think for me I like I someone explain that to me They're like it's so that the people who are still here can like have a place to go Remember you because I yeah, I don't care. I think like that's sad when you have a tombstone and one day not long after you died

No one's gonna know you right? No, it's just like I mean say like you're great grandkids probably aren't gonna go to your headstone No regularly No, or at all. Yeah, here's what makes me think of it spreading ashes is what I think but what if you could do what if you could do both What if you were in like a little yeah, and then you were also Uh, you know buried in that yeah, and you take up less space, okay, then people still could come see you Okay, that's how they do it. That like my plot is not it's for an earn. It's small. It's not but it's it's like a I have to get the paperwork out and look at it again, but it's like a plaque and then a thing on the ground and it says close to the walking path for your loved ones Easy access see that's good. Yeah, but it would be definitely cremation and then but like Jack is in an earn in my mom's bedroom. Oh I know a lot of people that's what they do. Uh have a plaque somewhere is this paper cremation to yeah

Oh my god, I am not joking. Do not get rid of that. I think it's a great Yeah, because you want to get cremated at least it's paying me for that. It's paying for everything. Yeah, here's the thing I said it's the one thing we know for sure we're gonna use one day you buy a trip to Mexico I bought a trip to Mexico last year. I never used it. I'm pushing it forward into this auction because I can't go to Mexico right now The dying day what part of Mexico? Uh, uh, there's two different places you can go seven days six seven days, but in the thing it said for four people well in the small print it said for two people and two people under 12 So they were building it as a trip for four. So it's really a family a small family instead of like two couples Which is great for a small family or for just a couple but for me it wasn't gonna work after I saw the small print It was a kind of a bummer, but it's gonna be great for somebody else And it's cool it doesn't expire because so often there's like an expiration date Well, we talked to them and said Mary at the same auction but a trip to Bali

And a trip to Italy or something she wanted like two trips because we were like kind of the big spenders That the I was a lower, you know And then I think she got rid of one of them That's the thing you buy these things they sound great and then airline and stuff, but this one's tickets too This comes with Southwest. Yeah, one time we were with our like two other couples And we they were bidding on this wallawala wine weekend and Like they were like like you know how they're making plans like you're making plans at your table like okay We're gonna both put in on it because this is for six people to will split the cost and Then it turns out it was like a wine tasting and wallawala not a Weekend like not like a hotel So that was we so it we had to pay out a pocket It was just funny because it's again, they're like oh a wine weekend. Yes. Well little did they know Yeah, like you're gonna go down there and have a wine weekend and then we're gonna only pay for it's only people like one wine tasting or something

Yeah, I think you have to be careful with that We also have like $3,500 in Alaska airline miles for our auction Which is gonna be good for somebody. Yeah, it's good stuff in our office Will that be a separate thing or will that be paired up with some of these other I think it's gonna be paired up with a trip to Ireland that we're doing And then we'll get like the castle and all of that Um, we'll have a mexico trip that comes with miles. We'll have the Ireland trip. I think it's Ireland or Scotland Whoa, so you guys have a goal of how much are you trying to race? Yeah, we have it in mind. We'll see how many people are going Hopefully 300 see again. We'll see yeah It's yeah, Ben This we'll see what's the economy It really depends like the perfect scenario is the economy is good It's not anywhere near an election. That's when you get people um, like 2024 was our best year ever because we were far enough out of the I'm trying to think if that was that was an election year that wasn't a 2024

Yeah, so maybe it was 2023. That's what it was then 24 and 25 were little less but 2023 We made the most money we've ever made It was at the new venue the economy was pretty good no election. It was like was that the one in the at the felt field first one at the felt field We had more people but but and we were far enough out of the pandemic That was the other thing that set us back huge amount so how many years have you guys been doing that 19 wow Next year's the 20th. Yeah, you know big event for the 20th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think we started in Oh six how many kids are you guys helping annually? Probably about 200 that's so many. That's awesome. I love that and like even when I was talking earlier this week about taking my daughter to college and like How lucky I felt like that I can take time off that we have We have gas money to get down there and stay in a hotel and I'm like your kid is my kid is 19 She still leans on her parents for so much so what a blessing to have safety net to help those kids who don't have resources like that

It's I my kids 32 and he still needs you know, it's he just do you need your family like like Christy coming back You know your kids come back and forth when needed and it is is reasonable especially now so many kids are moving back in with their parents It just makes more sense. Yeah, and if they have parents Right if not like what a cool organization to me like hey, we've got you we're gonna help you out We have parent we have birth parents who are a holes too and they like actively work against these kids trying to make their life more difficult While we're trying to help them. It's like not only did you abandon them? They were in foster care You didn't take care of them now they're 18 and you won't even Give them their idea if it gets accidentally mailed to your house. What is wrong with you like that? It really is yeah, it's crazy and they say biologically like biologically no matter what you've lived through like you are connected to those Your your blood and so those kids it's hard to make that they know what happened to them But it's hard to make that cut because of where they came from it Exactly And they still want their love they still want their acceptance and from an outsider. It's like

Just want to help you but yeah It's a good thing. We feel good about it Yeah, hopefully I hope you do well with your auction I think you'll be really interested to see what the venue is like and how much money you raised to see what Like get a temperature read on what's going on out there because I have concerns about the economy and raising money you and you haven't been doing an event there uh-uh Okay, I'll take notes I'll come back and I'll tell you guys not on Monday but on Tuesday. That's right when I see you back Once you dare try to talk to somebody And then when is Sam back he comes back Tuesday. Oh, yeah, so maybe I'll be I don't know when I'm talking you I'll talk to you next week. Well, we we uh, you should come in. Okay. All right. Bye. Have a good weekend. You too Enjoy high school football and college football and then you should take the next level Should most Sunday is pro just watch a little bit of pro and then you could say I watch football at all levels this weekend Maybe if the TV's on in my house somewhere yeah, counts. Okay, it'll guarantee the TV will be on Okay, I just don't know if I'll be in front of it. Okay. Bye guys

There's a lot of times when I don't have the just for Sunday just the game having a game on even if I got stuff to do It's like I'm good. I don't know. I'm gonna be actively watching. Yes All right, we'll do a break and then we'll have our hot topics when we return. This is the David Mollie show You Hot topics Brought to you by Clark's tire and automotive center. All right, let's get to our hot topics segment shall we? These are birthdays and you know if you're You know in your thirties or forties or whatever and your birthday was September 11th That's right. It's just kind of like or it's kind of puts a damper on the whole birthdays season doesn't it? Yes But these are people that do have birthdays today. Do you know the name Michelle Randolph? How old 29 Although I believe on the TV show she played 17 and 18 and an 18 year old

They do not know she is Billy Bob Thornton's daughter Ainsley and Landman Oh Yes, okay. All right. Yeah, well happy birthday to you Yes, I do know who that is now Yeah, she you got a pretty good career and I didn't I didn't know this at the time makes sense now But I guess she was a hot shot model Prior to getting that role and now she's getting acting jobs and everything so sure she's good. She's perfect for that. Yeah Uh ludicrous is 49 and Herri Connick Jr People still like him right. Yeah, that's a good looking guy. Yes, and I believe he was Mary too a I think they're still married. Yeah, but it doesn't say a Jill good acre right very good. All of our acres were good Herri Connick Jr. is 59 Oh, Christie McNichol used to be a time. Yes. I like Kristen McNichol. Mm-hmm big deal back in the 80s

Who else was having a birthday this weekend Uncle Jimmy oh That's right birthday. Uncle Jimmy more on that in a little bit. Okay. Yes happy But tomorrow is the actual birthday. Okay, but I haven't written in my phone today I remember you're saying you got confused and then he wrote in the other day he wrote like eight 12s The 12th it's all there's also their anniversary. Did you hear that Molly? They've been married gosh They've been married 60 years maybe more Well, uh, they've been married no they've been married I was so I was born in 68 I'm 58 I bet they've been married 55 years I don't know Jimmy. I'll say something impressive. How long have you been married Uncle Jimmy? If you're listening All right, here's your $5 question. You have a chance to win your $5 back ready. Okay

Celebrating his 69th birthday today from the world of music. Mm-hmm. Who is John Moss He's from the Feynian cannibals Yep boom Culture club drummer and boy George's ex-boyfriend That I I know I can see his name and he talks about him in this book. Hey John My boyfriend. Yeah, and not anymore. No Uh, and then you know Tommy Shaw Yes, little Tommy little guy. Yeah, he's from a Rio. No sticks. Yeah. He's a little blonde guy. Yeah 73 today Sticks guitarist somebody was asking me the other day who Was it was it your kid somebody was asking uh what band I've seen the most And we got on the topic because you know, I've seen sticks multiple times. Mm-hmm. But my answer was

I believe it accidentally it's Probably lover boy because they had opened for so many like they opened for sticks multiple times in a Rio and like So and then maybe I only saw lover boy Maybe once or twice as a headliner, but you know, who have you seen the most probably probably probably one of those guys You know, I think I've seen five times. I think that behind Brandy will have seen probably ten or twelve times It's probably Chicago for me. Oh, and again kind of like oh, they were at this festival or oh they were here or whatever You know just kind of because And actually earthwinn and fire now Read three or four times. I've seen them now because they're part of other thing. Yeah Yeah, are you stick I have a great sticks t-shirt. I love their logo. I love sticks. There was such a such a great time Always good lover boy

I saw gold nearing a bunch of times because then the people they opened for like no not heroes with and rush is having golden earrings Stop it. They were such a typical opening band I don't know that they ever went on their own tour gold nearing back in the 80s And maybe some to into the night rail member the band rail rail rail used to open for a lot of yes Banter would become through and that rail was legit. I mean they had a couple of hits You need somebody who's good who has a hit or two and is going to just properly warm up the bit the crowd But nobody who has a big enough ego that thinks they could be the headliner right it's that's like the perfect sweet spot The opener They should do a documentary or a like a rockumentary about the openers People who never had their own tour. Yeah golden earring has to be one of those. Oh no golden earring They're on Twitter's for a while really yeah Rail might be a good example. I mean, okay, so like little but I'm talking arena

Tours big like whoever opens for bon Jovi probably later on maybe they become bigger But they have to have those mid-level bands there That just stay right there in that sweet spot. There's there's been multiple shows where I've gone and I've been more excited about the opener the like I think it was total and Asia Oh, yeah, and you know Asia hadn't been You know touring for a while and everybody's very excited about Asia. I was way more excited about Toto And then journey and deaf leopard were touring together and they would flip flop right because they had fans that were some Definitely liked both bands, but they preferred deaf leopard bar of one Journey, but so they would go back and forth. I think that's what Melissa at Virginia. We know no we're doing I was really surprised the Melissa at for the opening for way known uh and uh they did Kelly Clarkson and The the fray. Yep. They didn't do that. Yeah, uh one of them one why went to the

What's the place? Where does you see USC play? What's that the call? See we went to see the headliner was the Rolling Stones We all know how I feel about the Rolling Stones, but opening for them was um living color And then guns and roses And they wiped the floor with the with the by the time the honestly when the Rolling Stones came out We left halfway through their show because we were thoroughly entertained and then it was like this is nothing like you can't do that kind of you know their music It's and it was the peak of their careers to living color and guns and roses and like They come out So you left but that was one where that was much more excited about those Oh Today is you're not gonna like this very much. Uh-oh National make your bed day I don't want to see and how you don't Just should I'm not going to

My bed was a disaster this morning. I must have slept like a crazy person It looked like a tornado went through and like I just wound everything up and then Through it to the side and even the dog was so came me like what am I supposed to lay in this tornado mess What did you do? I must have been restless. I don't know Uh, we all know 25 years ago. That was the um The day that the uh world trade centers were hit Uh Yeah, there's all kinds of specials on well more on that in a bit Uh, let's take you back 72 years ago today the Miss America pageant made its network television debut Oh miss California um lian mary weather oh my gosh, she was the winner. She's the first one. She was the first one. She later went on to be And she was that's incredible or li- no uh she was catwoman in the uh old Batman I'm thinking of some TV series. Yeah

Yeah, they had um um Julie newmar who had played catwoman on the show was already obligated to film a western so she had to bow out She uh, lian mary weather was catwoman in the movie the Batman movie when they did the movie Which one like early on this is like in the 60s. Yeah, uh, and I've seen those two those and it was it was a thing Yeah, and then who who was it in the Julie newmar Julie didn't it wasn't earth a kid did earth a kid play catwoman for a while Or just she's just That sounds almost right. Yeah Yeah Uh 58 years ago today or 59 years ago the Carol Burnett show premiered ran for 11 seasons and 125 prime time Emmys. Yes, they did all right. She is an American treasure. She is She's still with us. Yeah, don't even say she's not

I think she's in her 90s 52 years ago today. I remember you were very excited little house on the prairie debuted on television Michael land in emolissa gobert And then 52 years ago They did a reboot of that that's on I watched like part of one episode didn't really grab me but Just feels like I'm up with something new. Why do we have to reboot everything Hmm Fair enough And I don't know if you remember this, but I was a big thing in the world of media 39 years ago today 1987 is the year the US Open tennis tournament was running a bit long And Dan rather the CBS evening newsman uh-oh stormed off the set Ha ha ha ha ha He was nowhere to be found and the network went black for six minutes CBS the whole network nothing on for six minutes because of Dan rather's antics

A little bit of an ego problem. Wow Wow, and the the tournament this is like our history-making tournament this this next It's the first time since Arthur Ash Let me get this straight that um a black man has made it to the semi-finals and The his opponent is also a black man. So the first time that's happened since Arthur Ash there was one other um Not the same on the female side, but for the men So either way it's gonna be history-making because one of them is going to win one of them is 23 and one of them is 28 And they were being interviewed very different backgrounds and they're so they're in the final Yeah, they're together they're playing tonight. No, the semi-finals. They're playing tonight So one of them will go to the far today or whenever the next um tournament is okay, so but either way Raps up on Sunday. Yeah, so I believe one of them will go to the finals So they're up against each other, but one of them um is the son of a former

uh professional A tennis player so he's grown up with his dad as his coach and the other one very different background Really interesting story though because this the other thing that happened was that they were playing till 3 30 in the morning And one of these guys was one of the guys that was playing till 3 30 morning and then he has his great moment and all of that and stuff So pretty groundbreaking for the US open and a man a US man hasn't won it since Is it Roger Federer is he American? Uh American hasn't won it in Sampress Uh, you know, did he play in American hasn't won it in a long time either Okay, so either way it'll be an American man and it'll be so pretty big deal There used to be a time when I used to know all like I could Know the top five Ranked tennis players men and women in the world and now I don't I'm just out of touch with it It is a great sport though I remember that whole stretch I mean Brian D was watching he was why he watched the whole thing Brian you take

If you're listening Brian give us the stats on that I think he may be out at the fair today working But he he probably knows all the stats it was just um I didn't really say US man hadn't won it a long time. I thought we had more Yeah, I would that would be uh that's surprising to me too I don't think Federer is a I don't think he's an American Well, where the hell is he from? I don't know but Again, I'm I've kind of fallen off of the tennis thing. Yeah. It's nothing that tennis did wrong I just did the last US man to win was Andy Roddick oh 2003 Geez So we haven't had He's the last man to win the US open singles and wasn't isn't his wife the model I that I don't I think that she was the one that was in the in the Jennifer Aniston movie Oh, is that earth I thought so maybe I don't know Uh, we're gonna find out we we research all this stuff on the fly

Um But I don't know but it doesn't say here Doesn't say here, but um I'll find out I bet I don't know if they're still married either But did you hear that Molly? I messed you I was 24 years ago today the year's 2002 This is when the Nick Nalti mugshot became an internet sensation Picking all pictures in our heads you know exactly what we're talking about terrible That's terrible yes, they were married in 2000 Brooklyn Decker yeah And they're still married you're that deep see I know my tennis players in their uh models girlfriend Yes, you do nobody knows the model girlfriend wife's better than you did that's pregnant Yeah, or could Decker you Decker you better The same day that Nick Nalti's mugshot Picture went out all over the place became an internet sensation. Yes, Kim Hunter

passed away Go ahead ask Who is Kim Hunter She was the actress that played chimpanzee doctor zero in the first three planet of the apes movies Okay, she had a heart attack She was 79 in addition to her work on planet of the apes and it was very good work Yes, she won a best supporting actress Oscar for Stella opposite Marlon Brando in a street car named desire So she was you know Clearly a jet clearly Uh Ben Shelton his dad as a coach he played the match that ended at 3 30 the other morning And he's playing Francis tier four I guess I'll tell you his name this evening It's historic you guys edd. I've heard more about tennis in the last 48 hours and I have in the last 48 years I've heard more about tennis in the last three minutes Well, yes, the old tennis story 42 They're very hot on it on NPR and federalists Swiss

Yeah, I didn't think you're American Uh television notes tonight you do as you might expect there are a number of different uh 9 11 specials Uh every network has one so that's tonight Tomorrow night 11 o'clock maybe you'll be want to watch pbs Maybe one of the few times that you'll watch Austin city limits Why oh? Randy Carlisle will be inducted into the hall of fame. Hey, that's pretty cool So there's your there's a program for my program. I'll have to find it and record it Uh and uh Sunday uh big doings on Sunday Uh, of course you have your giant you wearing your giants blue today I sure is halloween you don't have your giant's hat on it's in the car Probably put it on a wear it to the fair okay I actually probably will because it'll be sunny out there. Uh, it's a giant's and Dallas Cowboys. Oh How about time Cowboys? How about time Cowboys? That's Sunday Sunday night football. Yeah, right on NBC. That's super cool

See ox obviously played on Wednesday, so I don't know what games they'll give us Oh, I think we get well, I know we get the chiefs and Broncos on Monday night Probably a packer game will get tomorrow. I mean on Sunday But anyway the big game is giants and Cowboys. That's a big deal. And then the season premiere of 60 minutes 59th season. Oh my god 60 minutes and the one of the featured pieces will be about Sean McVeigh the coach of the Los Angeles Rams Who I did a very informal quiz to some people All women Last night um and they all said he was they all said he was very good looking and then they had to rank you know All the different so I was keeping track of all that stuff. Yeah, I think the coach my giant's coach. He's a good looking guy, isn't he? Uh, that's what I thought I said what about John Harbine? Oh, he's a little older, but he didn't he didn't make anybody's list

Well, who else is there? Uh, the guy stealer is it the Pittsburgh guy? No Who good looking guy? Uh, they had there were a couple that had the green bay coach Matt LaFlore um Trying to think uh and there was one entry. I'll keep it anonymous That the New England Patriots coach The bigger guy he made one of the lists Uh Allie Wong did a whole thing on who's the guy with the younger who's the NFL guy with the young girlfriend Uh Is he a coach or is he a you know the Mike Vrable the the New England coach? No the put You know these it's everybody oh Bella check Bella check. Yeah, she Made some jokes about him and his girlfriend that were so funny She talked about gold diggers and then she was talking about what hard work it is and what you have to do

And it was very very funny and then and then you keep yourself looking good And then she was talking about a photo of them on a beach or something and she said and there is what's her name And she owns like half of all his companies too. She's pretty smart. She's you know she's not And she goes and he's laying there on his back. He looks like a turtle got stuck in the sand and his belly's there Why would she do that to him? She was talking about that age difference and what it that one is that's a little hard to understand I think he's 72 and she's 27 20. Yeah, she might be younger than that It's um I thought you were talking about Mike Vrable Mike Vrable is the guy the bigger you know he's bigger guy from New England Well, he'd been married for forever But then the this whole scandal where he was with this football reporter. Oh, that's right And that's that's a that is a whole thing got it. Yeah, that's not good

I'm looking at this this looks like a class picture of all the coaches, but uh I don't know I need to see I need to see them in their outfit like I know I was uh Uh and the and the see how coach did very well too see he's a good looking guy Mike McDonald. You see him right Uh, I don't know. I think that um um what's his name was a good looking guy Uh, oh, he carol is a detractive guy. Yeah, he he he was referenced is Joe Brady is he a coach Joe Brady why are they from the bills by the I don't know what I don't know who the pictures are. Oh, there's John Harbaugh is he he's my guy. He's all right looking Um, oh yeah, uh, Mike Lifflora. He's good looking. Matt Laflora. Matt Laflora. Yeah, whatever his attack of coach. Yeah I don't know there's one guy. It was a really good looking and um yeah, but what's his name is probably the best looking Of them all the one that you're talking about The Ramco's yeah, they have a whole 60 minutes feature on him interesting. I then kicking off the season

Yeah, that's pretty good and and they's gonna be sad that they got that they lost right I think that it'll be fine and I think that it was the travel and all that stuff and so It'll be fine Mm-hmm Then all the late night shows are repeats so that's all you need to know a lot of football on we got college football cougars Play tomorrow at nine o'clock Little early That's a little early and then uh and then Sunday it's one of those Sundays where the Seahawks are not Playing so you can you're free to watch any team that you like mm-hmm Well, okay including the Sunday night game, which I am actually excited for Yeah, the giant's yes, and I will I will route for your giant because you have been such a long loyal Giants fan. I want to support you and your team. There was a guy the other day somewhere He had a lion shirt on and I almost went up and said hey my lion and I oh wrong team Got rid of all that

Sunday or um, you got Buffalo Houston Always that what we get our games are Buffalo Houston Atlanta Pittsburgh and Packers and Vikings and Eagles commanders According to Bobby Dame Bobby D doesn't usually lie. He's not like a man Be that that Texans bills game is gonna be very interesting Be careful with that What is that well? I mean that it's it's in Texan land. Yeah But the bill Texans are they're good Buffalo's good to them, but all I need is for the lions to win this week I mean, that's not all right. I need others for I need the line for the So I'm I'm in the survivor leak. Yeah, and then I got the two fantasy leaks Yeah, I'm in the pick them leak. Yeah, I forgot the other thing that I'm in what and I had already prepaid like a long time ago And I got an email from or a text from my friend. He says oh you're you're in you paid long time ago

It's the 28 league Remember where you're assigned a team right and then if that team scores 28 and they're the only team that scores 28 You win the pot and then if nobody wins the pot the money just rolls over. Yeah, so everybody put it in 36 dollars. Yeah And and you're assigned a team. I was I have this year. I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the whole year For the whole year. So the all they have to do is score 28 2029 no 27 no can't go over you have to hit the number on the nose and It has to be the only team that hits that what happens if another team hits it too then Then no nothing happens then it rolls over. You have to be the only one To have the and then once somebody hits it. Is it done then that's it? No, then it then that starts all over again But where does the money come from everybody put in money? I know about how much money do you win? I think the first week is Uh, what is it's there? Well, I could do the math It's 36 times 32

So it's 32 teams right um 36 dollars, but oh, I think it's 64 dollars. I think it's 64 and then then if no one hits it then it goes to 128 and then it keeps going up Oh, but there's still money in the pot always money in the pot. Yeah, yeah, okay And then I think if nobody hit if it if it hits and then nobody hits it on the last Few weeks of the season. I think they go back It's somewhere I've never wanted like I've had there have been times one year I had the crappy cardinals Yeah, and I was thinking they're never gonna And it's all random you you just you're assigned to team you have no input Yeah, and I thought the cardinals they're crap. They're never gonna well they score they played a morning game And they scored 28. I'm thinking oh This is so great and then some other teams scored 28 I don't know is a nine so I've never never won anything with that Cassie has two she said um oh she's in a 28 lead she says she has the bills and the Texans

She has two teams. Yeah, she's yeah, she's in two leaps. Oh two different ones. Oh, I see okay two 28 lead okay So that's kind of fun. Yeah, it keeps it very interesting and the fact that you have no Mm-hmm say in it like and the other thing is it can be a terrible team and you know they will Randomly hit 28 and you know there is no obviously you the better teams offensively We'll have a better chance, but Has to be exactly 28 Tristan That's fun you got a lot of action a lot of action. Well see so when Monday night is it decided which fantasy football team won Yeah, you'll you will know Monday. You might even know midway through Sunday What do you what do you win if you win the if you win is it just those are good points Like oh you win you win your game you're one or no So that oh, then you're gonna play a different team next week. All I have to do is beat Trevor. Yep

I don't have to beat everybody else right okay Sorry Trevor Love you may not Right now it's not looking good for you. I'm 27.2 points and he's 8.8, but see look you might have people playing Right look at the percentage it should tell you what you what they've Factor it is like your percentage chance of winning Where would it say that? Did you click on the matchup? Well, I'm looking at it right now Overview do I want to review this is an overview Full box score scoring breakdown no That should go back up to the top Uh Scoring leaders I don't know Trevor can find somewhere on the in like well I meant on my phone. I can tell you what it had it originally I could do it on on my phone with your team Watch what I do now do it. Uh people need to know. There we go. It's see

Okay Full schedule So my next matchup is going to be against that Oh those are two teams that don't like each other very much. That's not very good. Big rival or game Yeah, all right. I will tell you what you're again. This is all analytics. Mm-hmm. All right. So iron sharpens iron league and I have a 52% chance of winning on the kitty cats. Mm-hmm. You are You are six. No, you're not sick shatel. What was your plan? Oh, you got a very good you're you're you're at 66% of winning the whole thing of winning your game this week. Oh this week Yes, well that's I feel good about that I don't play the kitty cats until week 10. That's a no there's a matchup for yeah So I got uh, yeah I got bad next week and then scots tauts and then errands extraordinary team and then car car

I believe he is there I haven't heard from he oh yeah, oh Wow What you met the former vice president? Oh, yeah, he's here. He's here Ken met him Wow Anyway, he has a and he got a coin from him.
