1:00well it's kind of unique uh... becs harvest house actually started in nineteen eighty seven my parents started it not long time ago wanted to have wanted to be a farmer and green blood and started in orchard and uh... the time gremble of was on what it is now it wasn't as big of a uh... destination agritors in area uh... but through the years we've kind of grown and evolved into what we are today and uh... i grew up on the farm so as it you know teenager out there doing everything uh... win away to college and try to tackle the world a little bit decided that the farm wasn't a bad lifestyle so uh... in two thousand i came back to the the family full-time uh... her with me and uh... uh... uh... i love that i'll and your kids are are they off at college now all the kids almost almost yes uh... our daughter is a senior at gunsaga okay and then our son is actually headed to university atampa at the end of the month oh boy a long ways away yes yes so he's very excited to

2:04uh... from you but you guys travel to florida me to the art yeah we've got a lot of time in the winter so we'll be close to i'm always a jealous so so i know that this time and then fall is your busy time but then after the holidays yes you guys shut it down and then you take off for an extended amount of time during the summer from the time we open or you know basically the snow goes away and we get into the fields you know the brezes out of the ground from that point on were pretty much nonstop it's go time yeah always really really hard for five and a half six months without a stop and then we are able to relax for four five months so i love that it's more of a lifestyle than a job and you can figure it out that what if we did two podcasts the day for a while what if we did that and then and then we took an extended period of time yes but if we just banked a bunch of transition is a little difficult going for every year i think it's going to get easier but i think it's hard

3:05kya because it's i always with teachers i think that it's hard you look for it in this three month break but then the reality sets in it's it's a time to go back it's time it's time it's time and our brains aren't quite as ready but we have to do it so yeah it is it's difficult but it's it's it's definitely a lifestyle that we like so so we got about a month before the labor day weekend correct about you give or take a few days and that's that's always a big event up there well it's a labor day has always been you know a fun time it's you know the summer beginning to fall and you know we're such a fall type yes but this year yeah we have a whole whole new labor day event going on and we are super excited to to start a new another new tradition at for labor day at the backstacks house okay tell us about it yeah uh... we won't look each other it's a good one to take uh... we're calm it stuffed on the bluff and it's going to be a three day music and food festival oh and it is going to be amazing uh... we're focusing on

4:08uh... local uh... a lot of really local great things great food great local musicians great entertainment will have live music from ten in the morning to seven in the evening for all of the days Sunday and Monday of labor day weekend that is a big undertaking it's a big undertaking music booking and she's I know your music person she loves music but just when that ends then I mean then you're into the fall festival yeah that used to be labor used to be our our rest weekend to get ready for fall and so uh... this year when when we learned that there might be some interest in a food and music festival for labor day weekend um... we were like well do we do it and we had about twenty four hours to decide oh and so it was a long twenty four hours of should we you know can we yeah uh... we finally just decided to just try it so we're crossing our fingers we're hoping spookan will show up for us and uh... do you like local musicians coming in or okay yeah everything is local all local food okay

5:10we're laying based everything yep we really just wanted to focus on what spookan in this way the area has to offer uh... we'll have i think it's ten uh... food trucks each day plus five desert and drink trucks every day well just on your property just on our property yep and then and then a huge new stage we're putting in for this for this event uh... with uh... MC and uh... i say the live musical in through will be pretty much steady uh... we've moved the stage from where we normally do it during our fall festival down to the bottom of the hill just to kind of take advantage of our natural amphitheater yeah sitting on the grass and you have a good one you're on chair and you're blank it yes yes sit on our grass eat great food uh... it's coming from there's you know free parking free admission just come up and it's free yep everything's free uh... i was just about to throw the food and drink your drink you want to go to the food you have to buy the food drink but i was i was just gonna ask are you selling three day passes to me so it's free just go up

6:12there and then you buy your food drink and you have them listen to free music yes i was there in a lot you know we're still in the farm we're still a hundred percent egg based on what we do yeah there'll be lots of produce available and lots yeah we'll still be doing the peaches and peaches and apples at that time so we're kind of blending you know what we offer locally as well with the local food trucks and the local musicians so it should be a really fun weekend on the farm yes that's so great what a great idea stuffed on the bluff yes yes you get stuffed oh yeah yeah one cool thing about this event that we've decided to do is really focus on um you know supporting the local food trucks with their full menus but also there will there will be a small bite option so if you want to try like everything a little bit of everything which is what i like to do yes they'll be like an eight dollar and under smaller uh plate option so you can actually taste and you know more than more than one food truck so yes that'll be yeah that's what i'm excited about try everything yeah that's like when you used to be you know

7:14when you could do that try all the different stuff rather than just one huge play of food so uh they've all agreed to have at least one item so that people can try yeah all cool food trucks and that's exciting and shout out to the a greater spookant food trucks association who we're partnering with that has really been receptive to what uh yeah we think that the public wants for this event and so they've really really stepped up so we're excited to partner with them so is it Saturday Sunday Monday or Friday or Friday no Friday no Friday okay yep but yeah food and music all day long 10 to 7 and you booked all the music i did book all the music yes are there people so give us the example of and will it be all different genres it is all different genres yes if you've been to our venue before you know that we are a lot of country music but um we do have country music we have all genres that we have some rock we even have some reggae um it'll be really exciting and it's all local bands i know there's a local reggae band uh uh what they call group-based

8:18smoothies is oh okay there yeah sounds like a reggae and you know these are new to new to our venue you know band so i'm really excited to me this is so great i mean live music and and the food going on and just that beautiful just just driving up there is is just a spectacle in itself we think it'll be we think it'll be fun especially with you know no parking these so yeah everybody can just jump and drive through and see see what's going on when they get away from downtown yeah the town the country is just such a great feeling to get out and it's fresh air from a whole float be fresher oh yeah yeah yeah with a green grass and you know get off the asphalt and get you know walk around in the grass and put a blanket out and just enjoy yourself here's the one stuff down the above get off your asphalt i like it i like it i'm gonna use it i'm gonna use it your asphalt oh i'm so glad that you said that they could use it because i think

9:19because i'm sure that was their next question oh that sounds like a hashtag that's a great hashtag and i'm gonna ask you what a wine option oh yeah so we'll have our drink that going for adult beverages if you're so inclined would you be oh we're inclined you're yeah well we know i don't like to assume anything no no of course not uh we have local beers and uh wines inside there isn't that type of stuff and you know some of the non-local ones people like just you your basic words lie or something that's fine too yeah but yeah we have all that there will be plenty of alcohol yeah okay lots of refreshments but lots of you know non alcohol if that's what you want to do yeah i'll have a driver so i'm yeah i'm picturing a day because she she loves all that you know all the produce and stuff i'm not available on live music and just you know take take take the day in yeah yeah we're excited we're excited what does a normal day right now this time of year look like for becks and what are your hours and everything so we're open every

10:20day but Tuesday oh okay um the main store is open 10 to 6 every day okay um the fruit fort is open nine to six we did start this year on Saturday staying open until seven uh because we started doubling on music on Saturday to an opening and a band that goes all the way till six o'clock so you have music every Saturday every every Wednesday Saturday Sunday yeah well yes man what Wednesday nights we do Wednesday nights till eight thirty okay we do a one Wednesday yes one Wednesday do you hear that one one yeah that's a real fun one because that's a different than our normal big excitement party you know the fruit it's just we sit around it's relaxing we have a usually a solo or a duo uh we watch sunset over the orchard have some beverages we have our kitchen opens you can get some food and just just sit out there and and people are amazed how relaxing it is yes at our place when it's not Saturday afternoon yeah and the evenings it's very relaxing just sit there watch sunset over the orchard and listen music and hang out with friends i feel like everything you like

11:23it is everything i know you're like you on Wednesday yeah great great we have a great music coming from that so on on Wednesday oh man so you're open and then and then you'll do this and and you'll be hearing more about this as the month goes on because we're pushing it everywhere so we want everyone to know about it yeah yeah it's it's kind of fun a fun weekend but yeah every weekend's fun up there we every weekend's a little bit more going on than the weekend before we're into you know our peach party right now peach season uh we're starting to get them picking them off the trees lots of them available for to buy you know we have sample tables uh peaches my favorite crop we grow so that's why we yeah i love fresh peaches you can't beat it and what is the availability of the donuts what's your donuts good Friday Saturday and Sunday i guarantee him till noon they usually go later okay but every live you'll think it's just in the fall but no we do it from opening weekend for Halloween Memorial Day i know a guy that had one this morning in it there's a lot of work he had for it i did i did i did i did i did i did i have another one

12:2440 seconds the thing is now he's had time to think about the second one usually there'd be a second one before there's any thought and then and then he says uh second one may be a mistake i will they are fantastic yeah thank you thank you thank you thank you for all the stuff that we've talked about and i know a lot of people will be you know they're taking all this in of course this will be in podcast form and people can see it but uh stuffed on the bluff dot com correct we'll have every schedule of all this stuff and people can make their plans and list of all the food trucks that will change out daily so okay look at that as well as the music lineup so yeah a lot of work you guys it was amazing how quick we got this rolling uh when the opportunity arose uh this what when was it uh it was i it was back in the spring spring yeah and we're like let's reduce we're not and within like i was saying with about 24 hours we had a name we had a logo we had the socials purchased we had a website done we and we were coordinating with greater spoken food truck associations yeah that's the first person we reached out to and uh Tony there is

13:29such a great guy and he's like let's make this happen and we start working and he was actually in Thailand at the time so we had we had a huge time there and we started putting this all together and it was about 24 36 hours and we had the foundation down and we're like okay yeah how are we gonna do it yeah we gotta figure out how to pull it off that but you guys are happy and you're smiling about it yeah yeah yeah yeah genuine enthusiasm right yeah yeah did you do something to us excited it's a little scary yeah yeah we do so much out there with all of our festivals and all of their events that we do yeah it's kind of an extenuation of of what we do you know we're not starting from not knowing anything yeah and spoken shows up for stuff they do we're gonna be supporting and i think getting off your asphalt trademark they can use that has to be used that have to have to have your asphalt um that's a good selling point i do like that especially in the summer get out of town and go see it and well thanks for coming by
