Bloomberg Audio Studios Podcasts, Radio, News The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. The Stake of Look has some stocks on the move today here in Europe. I'm James Wollcock with Stephen Cowell and we are joined by Bloomberg's breaking utedice, Louise Moon. Louise, first up, Chris Nicholson and other crest fallen UK home builder. Indeed shares hit a record load this morning, so fell about 14 percent. Before, they had expected for full year to record profits of up to about £10m. This morning, they reversed that and they now expect losses of £10m. They also downgraded their guidance for completions.
It was up to £1500 homes. It's now £1400 homes, so by about £100 homes, they've cut that. They already cut their guidance in July and April. Obviously, this is all on the back of this subdued housing market that we've been seeing for a while, so weak demand on the back of affordability, falling sales prices, higher building costs, so all these house builders having to contend with all of that. And Chris Nicholson is quite a stark example this morning. They also warned separately that their talks with their lenders on burrowing terms for their refinancing talks. They're taking longer than expected. So a whole host of headwinds and analysts are noting that and saying, you know, it's given all of that and given the wider market, it's unsurprising. Obviously, that the share price is very weak this morning. Indeed, that's Chris Nicholson in the UK. Let's go to France next and Swatheck, the semiconductor, can materials firm? Their shares on the rise this morning? Yeah, they've lifted their second year, sorry, second quarter revenue guidance. That was after market closed yesterday. They cited accelerated demand for one of their kind of specialised engineered platforms.
And so shares rising up 13% and less saying it's a clear positive. It's confirming their position in the supply chain that should also build confidence through to their full year outlook as well. They are saying that consensus already captures quite a lot of that growth within that specific platform and that units, they're not expecting material upgrades, but it's a positive and shares, as I say, up about 13% this morning. And do you get telecom moving this morning on a Bloomberg exclusive? What's going on? Yes. So we've had a report that Elliott investment management, so the activist investor, they've built what's been called a sizable stake. The exact stake is unknown, but it's sizable. And one of the key things that they're pushing for is that they're opposing Deutsche Telecom's potential merger with T-Mobile, which is its American arm, owns a big stake in T-Mobile. It wants it to think about other ways, essentially, to unlock value for shareholders, so things like larger buybacks. Share the rising on the back of that.
Background being that the CEO has been working quite a lot to bring Deutsche Telecom closer to T-Mobile. He wants to create, you know, that will create the world's biggest phone company. Some executives oppose that, so it's already faced some headwinds in the share-rises morning potentially shows that investors are thinking much the same, so a stake bet from Elliott.
