Cowboys Win 37-20 Over The Commanders

And Jack Prescott will have thrown more touchdown passes than any Cowboys quarterback in a career ever. And he did. How about that? Cowboys get the first home win of 2026. They are now one in one on the year. They're one and one in the NFC East 37 20 year final Cowboys. Send the commanders to O in two's acquil Chuck along said the should bowl champion scout. 1:00There I might have butchered that one. Brian but that's okay. We are in week two form the 24 yard blast from Prescott to Lamb and a great drive eating up about six minutes of that fourth quarter o'clock and they needed to do that as Washington who is playing without Jane Daniels in the second half for that dislocated elbow that happened on the final play of the first half of the game. Cowboys in that second half the big swing that force fumble from J. Sean Barr and that was recovered by D Winters. Dallas was able to turn that into points right away. It was 20 to 13. They're able to make it 27 to 13 on a 12 yard touchdown from Dak to Ferguson. Brandon Aubrey hits the 60 yard field goal and then ultimately after a digs touchdown you have the CD Lamb touchdown there. But I mean CD Lamb was brilliant. He goes today. I mean he was like everything you threw to him was a catch eight of 953 yards two touchdowns. Brian your thoughts from this one. Yeah I'll tell you what the thing you know and this is a game. Dallas we were all kind of talking about must win really need.

2:01You know everything you want to talk everything that happened last week. You know was kind of like you know it was it was a rough week. It was a rough week for the guys in the locker room. It was a rough week for the coaches. You know a lot of things you work on to try and get. That first game and then it just just completely fall apart the way it did. So you needed to come out and have that kind of an effort today and this was a difficult task to have to deal with the commanders are better at wide receiver. They just it's Terry McClaurne and it used to be just Terry McClaurne. And now it's you know Terry McClaurne with others you know with them running the football you know with Croskey mayor at the offensive line. You know there's some things that were a problem and then Daniel's running the football was an absolute problem. Yes for the Cowboys and you know and we started to have the flashbacks of oh geez is this going to be one of those things one of those days like with Jackson Dart and stuff. Yeah what's what was interesting is the Dallas was able to get pressure was able to get around the quarterback. But just didn't finish.

3:01No this could have been one of those games where they had a ton of a ton of sacks and but they just didn't finish in a way. It's just seemed like Donovan has a rock. That's a lot of opportunities. I felt like you could have had ten sets. It's just crazy. There was two on one play. Yeah he's just running around the backfield. It is. It's just a lack of finish. That is somewhat of a carry over. I know they got a lot of different personnel on defense. Yeah. Donovan has a rock who that's kind of what we talked about his rookie season is he's getting there. The pressure numbers are there. He's where he needs to be. It's just can you get the quarterback on the ground? Yeah they just could not that was that was a big problem today. And then with you know with Daniel's and his ability to run the backfield. The top that they made right before half where Daniel's was injured. I mean that was just it was just it was well played defensively. You know if you look at Durant I mean you got hurt. I'm like this cowboy secondary and then linebacker court point. It was I'm saying this in a nice way. It was a mess. It was. I mean the injuries and the guys often on the field and it just

4:05seemed like the game just turned into every every play every defensive snap for them was a pass and then the rush and you know you're trying to rotate guys. But you know nice job with the offense doing what they had to do. You know with the carverages that you know DAC was really good. We talked about Jones maybe coming in this game. The coordinator want to blitz more we'll see this. We'll see the blitz numbers here coming up. You know post game but man I'll tell you offensively. It was a lot of great things and a lot of great things with CDLAM. And then overall though that I think the protection with with what they were able to do running the football is going to be the new question now. You know the the opposite negative conversation when you look off and say and not run the football. No and it really it's and it's not that it Williams is not capable of run the football they just have not they did not have the whole tonight. I thought Dallas would be a little bit more committed to run in the football. But you know with the way that they made the commanders defend the

5:06whole field you and I talked about it at halftime. You know that that first half it was the boots the wagons it was left. Right it was you know it was just constant and then they were able to get guys open in that second especially with CDLAM. You know and then even saw George Pickens. Yeah about that on a play where they bring him emotion. We don't always see George Pickens in motion. George Pickens comes across the formation on a motion and runs the slant for like 12 yards. You're like going. Okay there we go. That's getting George Pickens on the move. So so a lot of positivity with things on offense. The running the football something we're going to have to study. But that defense for Dallas man it was just really really banged up especially the secondary and it was it was nice from the hang on the way they did. They already didn't have Malik Hooker or Demarveen overshown coming into the game. Yeah then you have D Winters leave he comes back. He had bar ham the me Jason bar ham and his second ever game and he's wearing the green dot I think he actually played pretty darn well down hill. There was some plays of course in coverage the middle of the defense certainly is one we can look at when we go back and we study the

6:09film. I do think a lot of fans probably I'm saying what's going on to Kenny Clark and Quentin Williams. Why are is Washington just being able to gash them up the middle of the defense and then when they are able to go ahead and I thought Rashon Gary did a much better job of setting the edge and trying to funnel things inside but then nobody's inside to play help defense and to rally to the football and make the tackle. Yeah I felt like watching and I don't think anybody believe me when I was talking during the week about I felt like that Washington played pretty well against Philadelphia inside. You know with their three guys and you know that we were at a chance to interview the play by play. Brandon Weinstein you know it the Washington play by play guy and he signed my own dialysis I mean we're really concerned about Dallas and the inside guys and and I'm like okay. I mean I got to feel like you played pretty well last week. I'm really excited to make this happen so anyway yeah it's a really really nice win division opponent. Philadelphia tried to lose one today but here we are so anyway

7:13you know it's a we're off to the races now and you know with week three coming up with against the Ravens on the road. Yeah but a nice one to get today against the command. Hey you'll take them all. It's actually inside the division and this one maybe the score is not quite indicative of how close this one was. 8:14and I'm a little bit that is like I know we we we never want to really credit the opponent but I think Washington probably deserves some credit I'm sure we're also going to look at and say your offensive line did not get enough of a push and that's something that I know Cooper be the Tyler Booker who broke the team down earlier today before the game start maybe you missed Tyler Smith maybe you miss your all pro guard a little bit when it came to power and getting some movement there Terence steel that supposedly calling hard of is they certainly are going to have to get better when it comes to running the football but that press got passing Troy Ackman for the most passing touchdowns in history of the Dallas Cowboys outstanding by Dac and it just a really nice job today navigating the pocket dipping around when he needed to under getting under some rush stepping up making some quality throws using his legs to be able to make that happen so yeah it just really a really nice game Dac against the visual opponents is as good as the money as you're going to get in the and that going forward so yeah it was a really nice win today for you know you say you needed this one you

12:20half and we're still you know moving the football on you and that's that's that's something you have to go back and check on and you know but like a lot of new bodies a lot of new faces out there playing deep it's not an excuse but but yeah when Dallas got that turnover was bar him you know not that ball loose then you were able to you know you're able to like score so that kind of gave you a little bit of some breathing room right there but boy but it was going to be a tough game throughout the way they were playing well and then that sequence is right before the half the fear was oh my goodness is Washington now going to be able to do with with a giant stick yeah where you know and my stock of the double dip yeah yeah we're in the middle eight yeah they get the middle eight the four minutes going after four minutes coming out of half and the Cowboys lose that last week Washington gets the ball with a little over five minutes to play at the end of the first half they go right down the field yeah and they've got a goal to go situation basically at the one yard line and then you ultimately have Jaden Daniels they
