Coalville Fights for Banking Hub, Despite LINK's Denial

The town will soon lose its Lloyds bank branch, leaving just a nationwide office behind. Il INK, the group that handles these hubs, checked the area but said no. A banking hub lets major banks share space and serve customers on rotating days. Il INK looked the cash access needs when the branch closure loomed but decided existing options were enough. Now, MP Amanda Hack and two counselors are fighting that call with a formal appeal. Hack says the town meets the criteria, especially with many small businesses and vulnerable folks who need face-to-face banking. She worries people without easy travel or online skills plus cash reliant shops will struggle if they have to go farther.
