The latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 658 new electric cars have been purchased in the county so far this year.
This represents an increase of 112% from the figure of 310 seen at the same in 2025.
SIMI Director General, Brian Cooke, says fully electric cars are now the most popular vehicles on the market.
