Chris Quintana: Ecclesiastes – The Preacher, the Congregation, and the Lesson
About this episode
Mary welcomes back Chris Quintana, pastor, student of the Bible, lover of truth. Chris has a way of gleaning great truths from the Scriptures. Today we take a look at the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon’s salute to vanity based on his long experiences and the rewards life offers. Something about this book will strike first time readers as not only unique in the canon, but sometimes confusing in a paradoxical way. Why should we read it? Who was Solomon and what were some of his ups and downs, the lessons he gained? We will look at the themes, the wisdom, and some of the pivotal verses. As much as Ecclesiastes can send a chill wind through our bones, Solomon’s directness and honest exhortations are really what the church needs more of in these wishy washy times.
