So yes, good morning. Welcome to stand up for the Truth for September 2.

1:00It's Wednesday, headline day here again with Tim, and we have kind of a longer passage this morning, but in light of the headlines and the world we're living in, it's really appropriate. So Tim, you're in Proverbs chapter 2. Yeah, you know, people we have the Word of God. It's the answer for everything. Proverbs 2, 1 through 12, my son, if you receive my words and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding. Yes, if you cry out for discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. He guards the paths of justice and preserves the way of His saints.

2:01Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you, and understanding will keep you to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things. Lord, we love your word. We are so grateful and so thankful that you've given us of your heart and of who you are and your very nature, Lord, and that you came and you laid down your life for us. Lord, we just ask that you would bless this podcast today, but that your word would go forth and that people would begin to understand that your word has everything we need. And I pray for that. I pray for the people that are listening to the listeners that you would bless them in their households,

3:01with their families, with their neighbors, as always. But Lord, that we would take your word to our neighbors. And we would just have that ability to give an answer for what you've done. And we just ask all of us in Jesus' name. Amen. All right. It is the 245th day of 2026. 120 days remain. Today in history in 1666, the great fire of London broke out in the House of King Charles, the Seconds Baker, on putting land near the London Bridge, that's the program. On a very windy night that fueled such an inferno that when it was finally extinguished on September 6th, most of London was destroyed. Most homes were wood structures and the fire department was mostly just bucket brigades. But all it took was the Baker, not properly extinguishing his oven when he went to bed. I love that I'm putting land, putting. In 1789, the US Congress established the Department of the Treasury. On the state in 1945, representatives of Japan

4:03signed the formal surrender document aboard the US S. Missouri officially ending World War II. On the state of 1963, CBS evening news becomes the first half hour week night news broadcast. And in 2008, Google launches its web browser. It's national VJ day victory over Japan. That's appropriate. It's pierced your ears, Dave. No, it's not. Yeah. It's so bad. It's not. Well, I guess it is. At least just the ears. Just the ears. Yeah, well, OK. Now, this one, it's national blueberry popsicle day. I don't know what planet these people are from, but I never heard of a blueberry popsicle in my whole life. Is grape? Well, no, they have blue and sand and all different colors. But yeah, those are lemon flavored usually. Yeah, that was a long time ago. Or popsicle fanatics. Let us know. Is there such a thing as a blueberry popsicle? 5:05Hey, it's hot. It was guys who like popsicles. It's world coconut day in all the various forms of coconut coconut water, coconut milk, coconut pieces. I'll enjoy it. What's the other one? Mollens bars. Yeah. Have a Mollens bar. All right. This first that he read here in Proverbs 2, then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity, and every good path. There's a condition on that. And the world doesn't understand righteousness, justice, equity, and every good path, clearly. Because we're going to take a minute and talk about Lindsay Clancy. And a lot of people have paused. Whatever it is they were doing to have an opinion on this trial. It's a perfect opportunity also for the church to speak up about moral ambiguity. There's a lot of opinions on this. And this article by Brandon Holthaus is long. It is so good. And Christian, I'm sorry, but we need to have an opinion on what's going on with this trial. We really, really do. When folks from abortion is legal in 10 states,

6:07we need to have an opinion on killing children, innocent children, and then saying why? We need to be looking at this. So Brandon Holthaus, when compassion becomes moral confusion, something deeply disturbing is happening in American culture. We're witnessing a moral inversion in which sympathy, increasingly, migrates away from the victim and toward the person who harmed the victim. To me, the days of Noah warning from the Messiah is here. The perpetrator becomes the person's society is asked to understand, explain, defend, fund, and sometimes even celebrate. While the actual victim slowly disappears from the story, we're told about the offender's trauma, mental illness, oppression, fear, diagnosis, upbringing, medications, identity, or circumstances. Some of those things may be completely real and deserve serious consideration. But somewhere in the process, explanation has begun replacing accountability. The Lindsay Clancy case has brought this cultural shift into sharp focus.

7:08Clancy is accused of murdering her three children. Her attorneys maintain that she had postpartum psychosis and therefore should not be held permanently responsible. Two witnesses said that Clancy told them, a male voice told her she needed to kill her children and herself. Sounds like demonic oppression to me. And that's what Brandon says here. Who listens to random voices, whether in their heads or outside their heads to tell them what to do? I mean, just that one time, very interesting defense. He goes, obviously, the prosecution argues that she understood what she was doing and I agree. She acted like a cold, calculated, methodical killer when she killed her three children before attempting to take her own life. Mental illnesses real, postpartum is real, but there is another truth that must not disappear. Three children tragically killed and no one is discussing this or cares. Yet look where so much public sympathy has gone. Supporters have appeared outside the courthouse wearing pink and holding heart signs for Lindsay. They even recited the Lord's Prayer outside the courthouse. Social media campaigns have identified with Lindsay.

8:09People have organized rallies and raised enormous amounts of money for her family. The emotional center of the story has increasingly become her illness, her treatment, her medications, her suffering and whether the mental health system failed her. What is a mental health system? No one has actually defined that. And this is me saying this. We need to know what that is and what their obligations are and whether people who are unregenerate in the Northern of the Holy Spirit can actually diagnose mental and spiritual issues. So that's a whole nother issue there. Brandon Holdhaus says, where are Korra, Dosa and Dawson and Callan in this discussion? They were not abstractions. They were the ones who lost everything. That does or me, we can't have compassion for her. Christianity allows us to hold truths together that our culture increasingly insists must be separated. A person can have mental illness and still commit an objectively evil act that deserves justice. We can demand better treatment for a postpartum illness without redefining the killing of children. Compassion for the perpetrator does not require

9:11moral confusion about the act they commit. This distinction is becoming increasingly difficult for a society to maintain due to the loss of the Judeo-Christian ethic. Mental illness, trauma or drugs can help explain behavior, but explanation and moral justification are not the same thing. Depression doesn't make murder good. Psychosis doesn't make the victim less valuable. Drug addiction doesn't make violence righteous. Trauma doesn't magically transfer victimhood from the person who was attacked to the person who attacked him. From a biblical worldview, human life possesses unique value because humanity was created in the image of God. After the flood, God established this principle in the Noeah covenant. Whoever sheds man's blood by man, his blood shall be shed. For in the image of God, he made man, Genesis 9.6. The foundation is not the emotional condition of the murderer. The foundation is the value of life that was taken. Scripture does not contain an exception

10:11declaring innocent life less valuable because the perpetrator was intoxicated, traumatized, depressed, mentally disturbed, or experiencing some other crisis. Those circumstances may affect how we understand the perpetrator, but they don't change the value of the person who was killed, the moral nature of innocent bloodshed, and justice that must be served. I think a lot of this stems from decades of how people view abortion. Since 1973, Americans have been conditioned to sympathize with the circumstances of the mother who commits the act of murdering her baby with no thought of the baby who was murdered. How old is she? Does this hinder her education? Her career is she scared? Can she afford the baby? Where's the father? Does she feel capable of raising a baby? Was the pregnancy planned? So the woman who committed the fornication is now the victim and the baby is an afterthought. Abortion culture taught generations of Americans to shift the moral center of the story from the baby being murdered to the person experiencing a crisis because of fornication.

11:14Compassion is extended to the woman, but then that compassion is allowed to move beyond the boundaries of truth. Biblical compassion is always governed by truth. Truth establishes the boundaries within which compassion operates. When compassion is detached from truth, it becomes unbiblical. It can reach the point where the killing of an innocent child is itself presented as an act of compassion toward the woman. Whoa. He's really thought this through. Once this unbridled compassion becomes a cultural reflex, it doesn't remain confined to abortion. It begins spreading into other moral issues, which is exactly what we're seeing today. The same logic recurs. Begin with the perpetrator's suffering. Magnify the circumstances surrounding the perpetrator. Redefine accountability as cruelty, and eventually the actual victim becomes a secondary character in the story. That pattern extends beyond Lindsey Clancy. We've seen enormous public sympathy and fundraising emerge around people accused or convicted of horrible acts.

12:17In the Carmelo Anthony case, sympathy and financial support flowed toward Anthony and his family after the killing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. Luigi Mangione became a cultural celebrity to some after being accused of murdering United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson. Rather than simply debating healthcare policy, some people romanticize the alleged killer because the victim symbolized an institution they despise. Once again, the identity or grievance of the perpetrator became morally more important than the life of the victim. So there's this outrage. We have outrage and so we justify anything. The murder of Irene Zeruzka exposed another dimension of the problem. She's a 23-year-old. You might remember Ukrainian refugee who was fatally stabbed aboard a Charlotte light rail train in 2025. The accused killer, De Carlo Sproul, and Jr. had an extensive history of encounters with the criminal justice system and was subsequently found incompetent to stand trial.

13:17Mental illness is real, but the broader cultural question remains. How many times must society encounter violent individuals? Explain their behavior through pathology or social circumstances. Return them to the public and then express shock when an innocent person pays the price. It's sickening. Common thread is not that mental illness is imaginary. It is that compassion has become detached from truth. Once compassion is separated from moral boundaries, it can become what I would call unbiblical compassion, compassion that excuses and navels or normalizes what scripture calls evil. Biblical compassion moves towards suffering without redefining sin. Unbiblical compassion requires us to alter our moral judgment because someone suffers. The WNBA has increasingly become a cultural microcosm of this larger phenomenon. Arguments that should involve basic biological realities become ideological loyalty tests. Players and activists speak of inclusion, compassion,

14:19protection, and belonging while women who object to biological male's competing in women's athletes, athletes, athletics can be treated as though they are the aggressors. The very category the league exists to represent. Women becomes difficult to define without a controversy. Why are people identifying with the perpetrator? That is why these stories belong together. There are manifestations of the same underlying moral revolution. Truth is increasingly determined by an identity, a tribe, a grievance, and emotional identification rather than by objective moral standard. If someone belongs to the approved victim category, their actions are interpreted in light of the circumstances. If someone belongs to a disfavored category, circumstances suddenly become irrelevant. Justice stops asking, what happened? Who did it? What is right and begins asking which person represents a group with whom I sympathize?

15:19This helps explain why some highly educated, leftist white women identify so intensely with Ms. Clancy as we saw them cheering for her and making heart signs for her outside the courtroom. Please understand, I'm not turning this into an indictment of all white women or women in general, but there's a significant demographic trend that we all need to pay attention to, as numerous studies, including an NBC News Pole and Gallup, point out. It has to do with college education, not biology. These affluent women went to our so-called elite colleges and were brainwashed by woke ideology. Modern therapeutic culture and education have increasingly taught people to understand human behavior primarily through trauma, diagnosis, oppression, systems, and victimhood. University culture has reinforced identity-based frameworks in which power relationships can become more important than individual moral responsibility. Social media then intensifies the process by rewarding emotional identification, tribal solidarity, and public demonstrations of compassion.

16:21This has affected this demographic. Put those forces together and compassion detached from truth can become a badge of woke moral superiority. The question is no longer simply whether someone deserves compassion. It becomes whether I can publicly demonstrate that I am more compassionate than you, also known as virtue signaling. One of the easiest ways to demonstrate that compassion is to identify with the person that truth considers guilty. The more shocking the offender is the more radical the demonstration of empathy appears. There's also a profound spiritual dimension to this. Isaiah warned, "'Wo' to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness?' Isaiah 5.20. Paul described the last days as a period in which people would be lovers of themselves without self-control, brutal and despises of good, 2 Timothy 3, 1 to 5. Jesus compared the circumstances surrounding his future coming with the days of Noah, Matthew 24, 37. Genesis tells us exactly what characterized Noah's generation.

17:23Quote, the earth was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence, Genesis 6, 11. The connection to the days of Noah is therefore not merely that violence exists. Violence has existed throughout human history. The deeper parallel is a civilization becoming saturated with corruption while losing its ability to recognize the seriousness of the corruption. Wow. Violence becomes normalized, human life becomes cheap, evil becomes explainable, excusable, entertaining, political, even heroic. Eventually society does not merely tolerate violence, portions of society begins sympathizing with funding, romanticizing, or celebrating those responsible for it. Judges 21, 25 describes the spiritual condition perfectly. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. When there's no transcendent moral authority above humanity, morality inevitably becomes subjective. If God doesn't define good and evil than individuals, institutions, political movements,

18:24universities, social media mobs, therapists, celebrities, and governments will attempt to define it themselves. And once morality becomes subjective, whoever possesses the greatest cultural power gets to decide who is the victim and who is the villain. Romans 1 describes the final stage of this rebellion in frightening terms. Paul doesn't merely describe people practicing evil. He describes people who approve of those who practice them, Romans 132. That's an enormously important distinction. A civilization reaches another level of moral decay when it moves from sinning to celebrating, defending, and applauding it. And this is what should concern Christians about what we are witnessing. Before discussing diagnoses, systems, oppression, medications, politics, race, gender, or ideology, Christians should remember the people who cannot give interviews, organized rallies, create hashtags, higher attorneys, or tell their side because their lives were taken from them. Korra was five, Dawson was three,

19:25Kalen was eight months old, Austin Metcalf was 17. Irene Zoruzko was 23, Charlie Kirk was 31, Brian Thompson was 50, and we as Christians must expose this evil on above all, recover the ability to see the forgotten victims. I believe what we're witnessing is God revealing why humanity deserves the tribulation. For thousands of years, God has held out his hand to offer his grace and mercy, but that offer will be rescinded as humanity continues to reject it. The coming seven-year tribulation demonstrates the righteousness of God's judgment upon a rebellious world, a world that lionizes murders and ignores victims, celebrates murderers and claims that victims like Charlie Kirk or Brian Thompson deserve to be murdered because of a demonic hatred of the truth. This is demonization plain and simple, and it shows us that we don't have long before God intervenes with his seven-year tribulation. When a civilization begins making celebrities out of killers, transferring sympathy from murdered children to the adult who killed them, excusing violence through identity and grievance

20:28and calling objective reality hateful, something much deeper than politics is happening. We are watching a civilization lose, it's moral categories. The days of Noah were characterized by corruption and violence, the days described by Paul are characterized by self-love, brutality, rebellion, and approval of evil. That should make every believer recognize the spiritual significance of the moment. Thank you, Brandon, for saying that God is unobligated to give humanity, and let's mercy, judgment is real. The tribulation will demonstrate both the depth of human rebellion and the righteousness of God's judgment, yet until that judgment comes, the church has a mission. We don't celebrate destruction or rage at the darkness. We expose darkness, defend innocent life, proclaim the truth, call evil, what God calls evil, and extend genuine compassion to suffering people and preach the gospel. At the same time, the door of grace remains open. Because the answer to a culture that has lost the distinction between victim and perpetrator

21:28is not less truth and it is not less compassion, it is biblical truth and biblical compassion together. And that is why I had to read that whole thing. Oh, great. Brandon Holhaus has really nailed every aspect of this. And like he said, it's a moment for the church to stand up and say, yes, we have compassion on, whatever happened to Lindsay Clancy, but she's a murderer, and there can be no moral ambiguity for this. No, and you know, I think of the commentators, the liberal left and atheistic culture that is prevailing our society, the media, talking heads. And it basically takes that simple truth that we are created in the image of God. And they want to, you know, they've put their faith in a big bang that happened in Trillian's Year, billions of years ago. You know, they figure it'll be more believable if it's so far in the past that you can't see it,

22:28but still it's faith that nothing turned blue up. No, we have a creator and we are created in his image. And as such, he is the one that had authority in his love for us, he gave us his law. He gave us the things we need to do. And all of it has to do with how we treat one another. Every bit of it, you go through the 10 commandments and every single one except, you know, honoring him and honoring his name, but the rest of it is all how we treat each other. And people don't seem to realize that that's why the society is falling apart right now because there's no reason to have any fear of consequence if you can get away with things like this and people will feel sorry for you. And again, what he said about late-term abortions now in our country, that has got to be such a wake-up call but they're so blind and their hearts are so hard. I think of some of the commentators, you know, and all of that. So anyway, so. And in Romans 2, we can't forget God gives people over.

23:30Eventually, like Brandon says, the grace is gonna close, the justice is gonna close and God gives people over to bad days. It's not just entertainment. Yeah, right. This is not, and they want to make it entertainment, even the concert of us. That's true. A media that plays all of these stories out, it's to sell ads. Well, there's a lot of good commentary out there besides Brandon, Matt Walsh has good comments. There are others that are speaking up, so. But church, don't sit, I'd be by, while this moral ambiguity just floats in front of our eyes. So go ahead Tim, what do you got? Well, without God at its foundation, human thought becomes increasingly compromised. And so this is by Tom Gilbrath. And so he says, what happens when people see themselves as byproducts of chance rather than design? What happens to their children and to their civilization? Communism happens, totalitarianism happens, freedom fades, violence increases,

24:31purpose and meaning disappear. Romans 118, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. How does God reveal his wrath in Romans 1? He gives people what they want, verse 24. God also gave them up to uncleanness in the lusts of their hearts to dishonor their bodies among themselves. Verse 28 says, even as they did not like to retain God and their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind. That is obvious. Look around, everybody. Without God at its foundation, human thought becomes increasingly compromised. The communities hold on reality grows inconsistent and untrustworthy, sanity slips. Pretend worlds become more real than the real world, and people lose the capacity to recognize and adjust to changing circumstances,

25:31abilities that are essential not only to our thriving, but to our survival. On October 9th, 1903, a New York Times editorial said, it might be assumed that the flying machine, which will really fly, might be evolved by the combined and continuous efforts of mathematicians and mechanically, mechanisms. Mechanicians, interesting work. Oh yeah. And from one million to 10 million years with these mathematicians and mechanicians working, are they our planes? They can finally figure out how to fly. He's what he's saying. 69 days later. Days. What did I say? No, no, I'm glad you're welcome. Yeah, yeah, you did. 69 days later. Just, you know, a couple of months later, Orville and Wilbur Wright successfully achieved heavier than air flight. One million years compared to 69 days, constitutes one of the biggest predictive misses

26:34in world history. Yeah, thank you. Wow, you know, they believe in evolution, they thought it's going to have to take billions of years for them to figure out how to fly. So here's what went wrong. The writer applied to human flight, the errors he had made being taught concerning evolution. He reasoned that if birds' required immense spans of time to develop flight, human development of airplanes would also take long periods of time. He applied the rules of evolution when he should have applied the rules of intelligent design. With intelligence, a moment of clarity is better than one to 10 million years. Boy, I'll say, of accidents, I should say, of, you know, and so he failed to consider the thought and imagination of two young, Daytono, Ohio bicycle shop owners, Wilbur and Orville Wright. Birds were designed and so were airplanes. Human beings designed the machine that follows us to slip the surly bonds of Earth, quote, unquote.

27:34And they did it at at least a million years sooner than the New York Times thought possible. Man, how silly we are. I still don't like the New York Times, so they are. Right, how silly people are when they have an agenda and they got to make the agenda fit, you know, reality in it doesn't. Romans 1, 21 warns that when humans reject God, their thoughts become futile. Verse 22 says that while asserting their wisdom, they became fools. Well, today, today's world seems unhinged because it is unhinged, cut off by its own choice from the creator, madness chaos and cruelty rise like a flood when minds are given over to debased foolishness. The gospel is the best and only answer and we need to go all out to make it known. But while humanity sets itself apart from God, we should not be surprised when people say, do and think in ways that are unhinged.

28:34When a great follow-up to that first article when you think about it. It really is in Romans 1 throughout and how do you not see that we're not living right now in the days of lot and in the days of Noah looking around and even just seeing how our country, we started out with these moral foundation based on scripture, based on Judeo-Christian scripture. And so it really is started. It really did start with the Lord and his blessing and God bless our nation to this day. Nevertheless, you look around society in America, how many true Christians, true believing Christians who believe and trust the Word of God in its entirety compared to those that don't. And they're believing things and they're allowing things that are just unimaginable. Well, and I love the verses that you opened with in Proverbs two, of course, because he says, he stores up sound wisdom for the upright. He's a shield for those who walk up rightly. He guards the path of justice, preserves the way of his saints.

29:35Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. It's all conditional. It's all conditional. And humans are going the wrong direction. So if this is true, the opposite is also true. This is standard for the truth for September, the second. It's Wednesday. And I've never seen a year like 2026 for earthquakes and storms and floods and heat waves all over the world. Let's just spend astonishing to watch. Birth pangs are one of those things where when we see these things begin to happen,

30:37we are to look up. This one is the Earth is being hit by one catastrophic disaster after another and this is only the beginning. The absolutely devastating floods and mudslides that we just witnessed along the border between Nepal and Tibet look like something out of a science fiction movie. It is a tragedy of epic proportions and it's made us all forget all the other catastrophic disasters that have been hitting our planet recently. Unfortunately, the victims in Nepal and Tibet will also soon be forgotten because more catastrophic disasters are on the way. We live at a time when global weather patterns have gone absolutely nuts. Giant earthquakes are occurring with alarming regularity. The northern hemispheres experiencing the worst wildfire season in history and our overheating oceans threatened to kill billions of fish. I've never seen anything like the disaster that just occurred along the border between Nepal and Tibet on Wednesday. This is by Michael Snyder, by the way. One moment they were normally living their lives and the next moment they were gone. Many that were swept away by the rushing waters didn't even live in the region.

31:38In fact, we're being told that hundreds of visitors, hundreds of tourists are missing. Sorry about that. Devastating flash floods and mudslides have wiped out buildings and bridges along the Nepal to Tibet border with hundreds of tourists still missing. In Nepal, houses and roads were swept away by rushing water and mudslides. Meanwhile, officials in China controlled Tibet say they fear major casualties. We have seen flooding into Nepal and Tibet before, but this was different. As the wall of water and mud rushed forward, it came slamming into homes and bridges, herring footage from the scene showed fast flowing flood water ripping through the streets and destroying everything, including homes and bridges in its path. Rivers, river banks burst as walls of water came rushing through the densely populated areas, sweeping people underwater as others sought safety on higher ground. Aerial footage showed flood water completely consuming land near the border, sending people running for their lives as buildings collapsed in seconds.

32:39In the end, the final death toll will probably be in the thousands. Originally, experts were telling us that a 4.4 quake triggered a gigantic ice avalanche, which caused the sudden flooding, but later reports claim that the landslide that occurred in 837 local time triggered the avalanche that created the flooding. Apparently, the earthquake that was detected was actually caused by the landslide, and it was actually a 5.2. The US Geological Survey reported, reportedly recording a 4.4 magnitude around the time the security footage was taken at the border. But no matter how it started, nobody can deny that this was truly a historic disaster. Meanwhile, we just witnessed a series of 13 eruptions at Mount Enac, Krakato, the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation recorded 13 eruptions from that quake. I mean, that volcano is South Lampong Province. This should deeply concern all of us, because one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history occurred precisely there in 1883.

33:42Between May 19th and October 21st, 1883, the volcanic island of Krakatoa, then part of Dutch East Indies or modern-day Indonesia, began erupting lasting more than five months. On August 27th, the island had its most significant eruption which destroyed over 70% of the island and the surrounding archipelago, the island collapsing into a caldera. The eruption of August 27th had an estimated volcanic explosivity index of six, one of the deadliest and most destructive volcanic events in recorded history. The third explosion of that day at 10.028 remains the loudest known sound in history. The explosion we heard was heard 1900 miles away in Perth, Western Australia. The acoustic pressure wave circled the globe three times. Well, at least 36,400 deaths are attributed to the eruption and the tsunamis it created, 36,000. Yeah, and that's the world is,

34:44the earth is ringing like a bell, you know? Significant additional effects were felt worldwide in the days and weeks after the eruption. Additional seismic activity was reported until February of 1884. That gigantic eruption caused a volcanic winter that lasted a year. Our oceans could actually see a cooling trend right now because they are hotter than ever. In fact, average global ocean temperatures just hit the highest level ever recorded. As a record breaking, El Nino builds in the Pacific and large swastles of the globe's oceans are affected by marine heat waves, a significant record has fallen. According to data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service, average global sea surface temperature has reached a new high, rising to nearly 70, potentially for the first time in millennia. This marks surpassed the previous record set in March, 2024. And he says this is crazy. On August 22nd, we broke that record that was established in 2024. The daily average sea surface temperature across the extra polar global ocean reached 70 degrees

35:44on August 22nd, 2026. If global ocean temperatures are going to set in all time record, it's supposed to either happen in March or April. So for it to happen this late in the year, he says it's extremely strange. Many want to blame humans for what's occurring, but scientists have discovered that the warming of our oceans usually gets worse, the deeper you go. That suggests whatever is warming the oceans is coming from underneath. Currently 42% of the oceans are experiencing unusual marine heat waves, 42% of the oceans. In the Pacific alone, marine heat waves cover an area that's equivalent to nine times the size of the US, greatly contributing to the new global sea surface temperature record. So why does this matter? Well, when the oceans get warmer, we tend to experience hotter temperatures, intense droughts, enormous storms, and massive wildfires. Hotter oceans exacerbate the sea level rise in extreme storms that threaten billions, as well as driving marine heat waves that decimate sea life

36:44and undermine coastal livelihoods. The Northern Hemisphere summer has already been hit by record-breaking heat waves, drought and wildfires in Europe and North America, and intense rain and typhoons in Asia. The ocean heat spike is being intensified by a fast-developing El Nino, which is set to be the hottest in at least a century. These are natural climate variations that raise global temperature and change weather patterns with serious impact around the world. More importantly, when ocean temperatures rise to unusual levels, fish start dying in very large numbers. The faster the ocean floor warms, the faster we lose the fish. To put it simply, the faster, okay, they repeated that. As our ocean warms, we could lose billions upon billions of fish. And this is bad news because the world is already facing very serious food shortages in the month ahead. And the drought out west, of course, is terrible. And water tables, farmland is being affected.

37:45It's just a domino, isn't it, Tim? Yeah, it is. And in light of actually this next article about pastor's responsibility to call out false teachers, something that relates directly to what Mary just read, having to do with what's going on in the article. It actually points out some people are going to blame human beings and all. Well, there is a real clear agenda. Karl Taikrab talked about this. And you can look at some of the places he's gone to hear what the globalists are seeking to do. Going forward, really, to unite the world. And one thing that is primary in all of this is a new world religion. And that new world religion has to do with all of us becoming united as one against a common enemy. Well, what's the common enemy? Something that affects all of us. The fact the world is getting, you know, is going warm, extinctions. AOC said, you know, what, 10 years ago,

38:45that within 12 months the world was going to, you know, the temperatures were going to rise and the polar caps were going to melt. Or I don't know the exact quotes for that, but she was out there talking about it, it came and went. We had an article a couple of weeks ago of all the predictions of how things were going to go to that whole, apocalyptic side of things. Well, it is going to be a false teaching. It is going to be a doctrine that, that because they don't include God in his judgment that's coming in all of these things, they want to have a religion that we unite and worship Mother Earth. This is the, it's called Gaia. And so anyway, so the next article, I think that's something that applies there as far as calling out false teachers. Don't let it come in the church, people. And so here by Tom Gilbreath, a vigilant to protect, a pastor's responsibility to call out false teachers. He says, I recently watched a minister online.

39:46He gave a scathing critique of those who dare to call out purveyors of false doctrine. So he's critiquing those that are calling out false teaching. He said we should love our fellow Christians. Well, paradoxically, he criticizes those who criticize others. He seemed intent on inoculating his followers, making them immune to the charges of false doctrine against his friends and himself. In one sense, the attack, I gotta see this, back when the big hair network, TBN, was threatening David Hunt. The guy says, if I had a Holy Spirit, God, I would shoot David Hunt with it, David Hunt with it. Because Dave, Dave was calling out the false teaching on the thing, and here are these guys who are saying it. Well, he's calling out the people who call out the false teaching. Yeah. He says, period, actually, they call it hypocritically. Yeah. Indeed, yeah. He made a amount of, yeah. So it seemed, in one sense, the attack seemed pious. Don't criticize. Be loving.

40:46Be sweet. But Jesus ran the money changes out of the temple, didn't he? In Revelation 26, he expressed disdain for the deeds of the Nicolayatins in Matthew 7. Jesus said, beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing. But inwardly, they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Well, where does it say they are? They're coming in to the church. And Matthew 24, he repeatedly warns that the deceptive men will come as the end of the age approaches. False prophets, even false christs, some will perform wonders and use the Lord's name to bolster their own credibility. He says in verse 24, false christened false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Deception comes in many forms. And today we are being deluged. It is baptism by immersion. It destroys lives.

41:46And John 146, Jesus called himself the truth. John 844, he called Satan the father of lies. Satan the liar kills, steals, and destroys. Jesus the truth heals and redeems. That's a clear cut choice. In Matthew 16, Jesus warned his disciples, take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Verse 12 explains their leaven was their doctrine. He called the groups by name and their leaders were well known to the public. In Acts 20, records Paul warning leaders on the church of Ephesus that after my departure, savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock, also from among yourselves. Do you hear that people? From among yourselves, men will rise up, speaking perverse things to draw away the disciples after themselves. We don't often think about that church. When we're looking around at the people there, we're not supposed to be suspicious

42:47or paranoid about that. But in fact, it will be from among ourselves. People are going to rise up. Therefore watch and remember that for three years, I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears. It's clear that the leaders are supposed to be on the lookout for false teachers and to call them out when necessary to protect the people. Titus 11 says that there are people whose mouths must be stopped, quote unquote, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not for the sake of dishonest gain. That's not a call to violence, but it's a call for church leaders to stand against false doctrines and the teachers who circulate them. Jude four warns that false teachers have already crept in unnotice, ungodly men who turn the grace of our Lord into loodness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. So if 2 Timothy 2, Paul tells us, young pastor Timothy warns the church

43:48about two dangerous teachers by name, Hamanius and Felitas. Verse 18 says exactly what these two were teaching, that the resurrection had already passed, they were overthrown and thereby overthrowing the faith of some. Some still teach this false doctrine today. In 2 Timothy 4, Paul reports, Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm in verse 15, he warns, beware of him. And so his church leaders must be vigilant to protect those under their care, especially as the time of Christ's return draws near. The more these days approach, the more we see the Lord describe the days that we're living in, the more false teaching is gonna be out. And you know, we've got all this social media, all these ways of death, doom scrolling or whatever they call it. And to just have one thing after the next, after the next bombardment with false teaching, it's so important to spend so much time in the word that you know the difference when you see these things,

44:49you can call them out. Absolutely, and I have one here that is just too long to do the whole thing, but I'm gonna start it and then Tim's gonna do another one. But I just feel like this fits the theme of the program better. A warning and call to witness, why God reveals the future in advance by Tim Moore. I think there's just an urgency about the times we live in Tim. I just get that sense here. When Marvin Gaye sang, can I get a witness in 1963? He wasn't speaking in theological terms. The phrase itself is said to have originated from the African-American church in the 19th century has been used in legal and religious settings ever since. A single testifier lacks standing in ancient Israel and in a modern courtroom. But the testimony of two or more credible witnesses provides the basis for admissible, reliable evidence. There are exceptions to this rule as I once experienced what's serving on a jury. Another obvious example is the eyewitness testimony of Almighty God with his statement in the beginning. He revealed how the universe was created and how he filled the earth with life. His credibility is absolute, so I don't need another witness to corroborate his account.

45:52Anyone who rejects his testimony to posit other theories is engaging in foolish speculation. Similarly, no one can know what will happen at the end of the age unless God reveals it to us. Jesus made this point to his disciples when they expressed great eagerness to know the timing of his restoration of the kingdom. But God did reveals much about the end times through his prophets, just as he said to Amos, certainly the Lord God does nothing unless he reveals his secret plan to his servants, the prophets. And he revealed many more details to Paul and Peter and John, including an entire book that describes itself as the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his bond servants, the things which must soon take place. Why did Jesus choose to reveal so much detail about the end of the age to John and in turn to us? Because the time is near, Revelation 1.3. It's easy to get caught up in this spectacular detail about the book of Revelation with its letters to the seven churches, the seals, trumpets, and bowls

46:52and all the other activity John sees in heaven and on earth that we miss the point of the book. Jesus clearly wants to offer encouragement to the church as it awaits the rapture. He was also pointed in, he also was pointed in his admonition for churches and individual Christians who've lost their first love, allowed heresy and apostasy to creep into their doctrine, tolerated the intolerable or cooled in their faith to the point that Jesus is standing outside, knocking at the door to get back in. But there's another reason that God, the Father, willed for Jesus to offer this sweeping revelation. And that's out of his great love and mercy. God would be justified in pouring on his wrath on an unrepentant world with no warning whatsoever. Those who've rejected him would receive their just reward, death and damnation, but God always warns before he pours out judgment. He did so before the flood. He did so with Sodom and Gomorrah. When he sent two angels to rescue Lot in his family and validate the wickedness of those cities, he did so with Nineveh.

47:53When he sent Jonah to warn them of their fate, you might say, what God did not always offer a clear path to avoid his wrath. Let's consider Jonah's secret sensitive message, sarcasm intended. When he finally arrived at Nineveh, still smelling suspiciously fishy, this succinct message he delivered for a single day was yet 40 days and Nineveh will be overthrown. No appeal for repentance, no overt offer of salvation, no hint at a second chance. Yet the people of Nineveh from the greatest to the least understood the inherent choice God before them. They chose to believe in God and repent. By the order of the king, they put on Seth cloth and ashes, hobbled themselves before God and prayed that God might turn and relent and withdraw his burning anger so that we do not perish. And like I said, this is kind of long, but he goes on to say, this is God's final appeal. Indeed, let's go here. It's really long. I apologize for that. A warning and a call to witness why God reveals the future in advance.

48:54Some Christians read Revelation and focus on the judgments and the wrath. I read the book and see the great love of God revealed by the fact that he warns those who are perishing, similar to the gospels and all the other 61 books of the Bible. Revelation is a love letter from God to his wayward creatures. And I'll end with this. Knowing the end of the story as laid out in scripture and failing to warn those destined for destruction would smack of Jonas's callus disregard for the people of Nineveh instead. The way to receive the blessing for not only reading it, but also heeding it is to act on your understanding while you have breath. And I would add to bring the gospel to people before it's too late. Absolutely. I often wondered about 40 days. If you knew 40 days from now. Right. And it's different these days. Back then they repented. The whole city repented. 40 days was the set date. If any one of us knew the day we were gonna die or any of us knew the day of the rapture or any of us, if we were to say, okay, this fall in November about the closest we can get. However the election goes,

49:54that's gonna be the way the country goes. We can say that's what's gonna be the determination. It's a different thing when you realize that this could go on and people tend to get a little bit numb and not care. Because we don't know the dear of the hour so it could happen anytime and maybe it'll be two years. Maybe it'll be 10 and so they put things off. Well, you know, Lord says it's gonna happen when, in a day you think not, it's gonna happen. It's gonna be something that catches people up. And the rapture and the rapture is maybe the last warning shot that people are gonna get. Wanna say figure out what it is? And who knows? We don't know when the tribulation starts after that. It could be 40 days. I have absolutely no knowledge. Interesting. So I'm not setting any dates. Don't email me. Yeah, we're not setting dates here. Lord said it's imminent and it's gonna happen exactly. Even the, yeah. Yeah, well you have one more. And 9-11 is coming up next week, you know. And this is a, just a solemn remembrance, but the world wants to rewrite it. So Canada says something really stupid last week. So Tim, you're gonna correct that, aren't you, with this article?

50:55Well, yes. And it comes out of Canada, CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation walks back there. 9-11 terrorism guidance following backlash from the US and Canadian officials. Okay, so what they did was they basically wanna eliminate the word terrorism. You know, I would actually say Islamic terrorism, honestly, if you want the truth. So weeks before the 25th anniversary, Canadian Broadcaster will no longer require attribution when describing September 11th attacks as terrorism. Two days after a Canadian Broadcast Corporation, internal memo became public. It was in which instructions to its reporters stated, do not refer to September 11th attacks as terrorist attacks. The outlet reversed its stance. The memo restated a long, long standing CBC policy regarding the use of the word terrorists and terrorism. A practice shared with numerous other media organizations,

51:58the guidance nonetheless drew sharp criticism from the US and Canadian officials who called it a distortion of history, at the very least. Toronto's son columnist first reported the contents of the internal CBC memo, which reminded staff of the network's language guidance ahead of the 25th anniversary of September 11th attacks, stating, do not refer to the September 11th attacks as terrorist attacks. The hijackings led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, and Manhattan. The World Trade Center was destroyed. The memo was signed by BB, the initials BB, later identified as Basim Basra, CBC's senior director of journalistic standards and public trust. Once the contents of the memo were widely circulated, and the questions and commentary followed, CBC spokesperson Kerry Kelly told reporters,

53:00the memo did not instruct journalists to deny that September 11th was terrorism, but rather restated a decades old practice of using the terms terrorist and terrorism with attribution to credible sources. Wow, so the video on the TV was not a credible source of what happened. And an approach she said is shared by other majority news networks or organizations. CBC pointed to the 2023 blog post by editor-in-chief, Brody Fenlon, which stated that the broadcasters practice of attributing the word terrorism mirrors policies at the BBC, AP, AFP, and Reuters. Well, there was backlash and finally to the point where the conservative party of Canada called the guidance and appalling distortion of history and urged CBC to retract it. So the Canadian public safety minister said, Ottawa has always treated September 11th

54:00as the deadliest terror attack in history, during the Canada's 2001 anti-Semitism or anti-terrorism legislation added a formal definition of terrorism. You know, I saw him today of US and Canada and all Canada was called Northern Ohio. So I guess I was like, Canada, I get it together. You know, when it comes to your anti-Semitism or whatever. Well, let's just say terrorism is also happening with all those guys in the open border from Canada coming across. Absolutely. Unknown numbers coming across. What do you think they're going to do in this country? Well, you know, so ends another week of headlines. Keep an eye on that jury because a lot of people are disturbed that that jury is still out after how many days here. So keep an eye on that and please keep an eye on and think about how you might want to formulate your thinking on this so that we stand for what we stand for and what God's word says, compassion plus truth, both are possible. So that is standard for the truth for today.
