About this episode
Things change relentlessly in this world: twelve presidents have come and gone since my birth, rivers where I once fished now look unrecognizable, familiar university landmarks have vanished, and even my own reflection tells a story of time’s steady work. Places I knew as a boy are transformed gold mines turned into wooded hills, bulldozed ridges smoothed out reminding us that nothing earthly endures. Yet amid every shift and upheaval, God’s salvation and grace stand utterly unchanged. He declares, “The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed” (Isa. 54:10). Even stronger: though “the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment,” His salvation “shall be for ever” and His righteousness “shall not be abolished” (Isa. 51:6). All the changes and earthquakes of life are God’s shaking of what can be shaken, so that only what cannot be shaken remains (Heb. 12:26–29). Therefore, hold fast to Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever who alone is unshakable. Let every change strengthen our faith, making us steadfast and immovable in Him. #UnchangingGod #SameYesterdayTodayForever #SteadfastFaith
