1:05into the swamp tomorrow for a 530 kick on the SEC Network Plus stream. Doesn't get a whole lot bigger than that folks. Trent, how you doing? I'm doing great and you make a good point. It feels like whenever a game's at 530, that's really in the contractually we have to broadcast this game. A 530 on SEC Network Plus. I think my biggest question tomorrow isn't about Campbell's offense. It's not about Campbell's defense. Is will I be able to access SEC Network Plus to be able to watch the game? Well, you know, if you can't you can also check out the radio broadcast of the game on 1010xcel and 92.5. That's that. With Sean Kelly on the call on the Gator Radio Network. Of course, 1010xcel is the home for the Florida Gators here in the city of Jacksonville. All right. Gator fans were very curious about Sean Summaryl's debut last week. We're curious about Aaron Filo and my goodness Trent. 66 points over 600 yards of offense. The caveat always is

2:10it was FAU. I've said it. I've got it out of the way. But if you're a Gator fan, you had to be very, very pleased to what you saw one week ago. Absolutely. And I believe I believe if I'm correct, it's the most yards and points since the 2020 season back when Dan Mullin was here a lot. Yeah. And I say it all the time. Yeah, it's FAU. We're not going to crown them as national title contenders or anything off of week one. But what do good teams do? They take care of business against teams like FAU and USF. Right. We're coming back to last season. And there have been times where FAU has been in the game with Florida in the second half. Obviously, that was not the case. All right. Big playmakers from last week. Let's begin with Aaron Filo. Now everybody talked about Aaron Filo, the entire off season. Keep in mind, last week was his second start in college football. His first, by the way, was at Georgia Tech against Gardener Web. So he's not exactly the most experienced guy, although he's been in Buster Falkner's system for a couple of years. And obviously, there had to be

3:12a lot of nerves. First time in the swamp as the Gator quarterback, 90,000 people there. He goes out there. And I thought performed beautifully. The one interception was not his fault. The receiver should have had it. I don't know how you couldn't be anything but very impressed with Aaron Filo last week. He gave you everything that you could possibly want to see out of him in a game like that. And that's why I was a big fan of the decision from John Summeral to go with Filo as the starter. And make sure he had multiple weeks of complete first team reps to get him ready. Because like you said, he's not the most experienced guy in the world. Even with the fact he has been with Buster Falkner, that was a big part of him coming to Florida when Falkner came with him from Georgia Tech as well. And one of these things we get so hyped up in are you think if you're going to win a national championship, if you're going to contend in a conference like the SEC, you need one of these athletic specimens at quarterback like a John Matier or a Bryce Underwood who people have

4:15talked about. But if you just get a guy who can make the layups run the offense, protect the ball. Like you said, had a pick on Saturday, not exactly his fault. The receiver should have had it. Yeah. A thousand percent. So week one and we've already added in the caveat that it was FAU. But like you said, very impressed from what we saw with Aaron Filo so far. I didn't realize this. And the history of Florida football, Jaden Ball, is the first running back to return after having a thousand yard season. Like obviously there's been a lot of thousand yard seasons at Florida. But those running backs went on to the NFL afterwards. Ball is the first guy to have a thousand yards and then come back for the following year in my goodness man. A buck 60 on the ground, three touchdowns. He didn't basically play in the last quarter and a half or he would have gone well over 200 yards. The start and stop ability, the cutting ability. I mean, for as excited as we have been about Jaden Ball, I think opening night, he probably surpassed a lot of expectations. He

5:17was fantastic last week. I think Jaden Ball is as good as any running back in the country. I mean, you look at what he did at the tail end of last season had one of the greatest games in Florida history against FSU to cap off the 2025 season. Going into this year, you put up any of these guys, a mod hearty when he gets healthy. Q and Lacey at Ole Miss. I think he's as good as anybody in the nation. Now that we have a head coach who's going to play him in the second third quarter of games, I think he has a chance to have one of the best seasons in Florida history. He was dynamic. The big question about the Gator receiving core is who was going to emerge. You had Eric Singleton, you had Dallas Wilson, you had Vernal Brown. Now, unfortunately, we didn't see much of Singleton. He got rolled up on when that injury took place and it happened really early. It actually happened on the Vernal Brown touchdown. I thought, oh boy, that looked bad. From what I've been told from people in Gainesville, he's not going to play tomorrow. Why would you play

6:18tomorrow? There's a chance for Auburn. He was doing a little bit of jogging on the sideline last Saturday. He actually wanted to go back in the game. Florida was like, no, you're not going back in the game. Then it swelled up a little bit on him on Sunday. It appears Florida may have dodged a bullet because I thought when it happened, that could be a break, that could be a fracture, turned out it was just a sprain knock on wood. He'll be back, hopefully by Auburn a week from tomorrow. But who was going to emerge? Last week, Vernal Brown emerged. He was sensational. Dallas Wilson was good in his own right, but my goodness, Vernal Brown and his playmaking ability, finding the in zone for the first time in his Gator career, very, very impressive. He has been Florida product played in Orlando at Orlando Jones High School. He's a Gator Legacy player. That he is. We've talked about all off season, but I think you can make the argument that they have the best set of skill players in the SEC. That's crazy to say that when you think of

7:24the team going for an eight last year, but I really do think it was such a dysfunctional situation that that's what caused that. You've got Jayden Ball who might be like we just said, the best running back in the country. You've got Eric Singleton, Dallas Wilson and Vernal Brown the third. We know Vernal has shown us what how good he is. Dallas, he's had some injury issues and he bit of a slow starter last season. But if those three guys are as good as we think they are, I think you'd be hard pressed to show me a better group of wide receivers in the entire country. I agree. Those are the main guys. Bailey Stockton found the end zone last week. I didn't realize this. That's Gunner Stockton's brother. So Bailey Stockton, the transfer from Georgia Tech. He found the end zone. Abrams had a really long catch down the sideline. Mike Mays, who had the ball go through his hands for the pick. I thought also showed some nice things in the second half as well. There is an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver. Then the offensive line, and look, John Summeral had

8:24said when he arrived, there was a strength problem with the offensive line, literally a strength problem in the weight room. And as the off season went on, John Summeral to his credit said, hey, these guys are working hard. They're getting better. It's queer. We have better unit now than it was when I arrived in December. Again, FAU, it is what it is. One of a lot more against Auburn a week from tomorrow. But I thought the offensive line by and large played pretty well. That they did. I think there are some issues with the snap, but it's a week one early on in the year. Some of those guys in the offensive line also transferring from Georgia Tech following Buster Faulkner as well. But I think every area on the team, you've got to like what you see. Now we'll get to the defense here in a little bit where there may be some more question marks. But I produce swamp sessions with Dan Hicken and Jeff Prosser every Saturday night, and they said it on Saturday, I don't think they don't think the Gators offense is ever going to be the reason that they're not in games. And I think that's going to prove to be true throughout the year.

9:28Now, when you talk about defense and I'll give Summeral credit, you win by 45. He was pissed in his post game press conference. He was not happy about the way the defense played. Remember, he is a defensive guy. I didn't think it was terrible. And I'll also say that FAU team, they're going to win some games in the American conference. I like that quarterback. I like some of those wide receivers. I'm actually curious. FAU plays Navy tomorrow. I'm curious how FAU does. If they go out there and they boat race Navy, well, then that's a really good win for Florida. Now looking at it, but I do think that FAU team is going to score some points on a lot of teams. They found the in zone three times. I think the trepidation a lot of Gator fans had leaving the stadium was the two touchdowns in the first half. Two really good drives by an experienced quarterback and a good receiving court FAU. I thought all in all the offense, I would have given an A, the defense. Probably a C. I've not got a flunk them. I didn't think they were great, but I thought they were

10:29okay for what it was. Night number one against the team that I think has a pretty good passing attack. Yeah, and I think the guys on the back end like Kermani McLean, I think they had a good night. The defense of line, you definitely want to see more out of Jaden Woods and LJ McRae, not a single sack between either of them on the game. It's funny. You say Jaden Woods, like the first quarter and a half, I didn't see him at all. And then I saw Woods out there like, oh, he is playing. Yeah, he's just wasn't doing anything. Yeah, and he wasn't. And that is a bit concerning because I'm with you. I think one of the one of the FAU receivers actually is Jacksonville product. If I remember Tom Henry, yeah, I believe he played a niece. Yeah, and then they got that transfer from Texas Tech or somewhere that guy, that kid's a stud. Yeah, they got the other, the other slot receiver. They got some good wide receivers at FAU. Yeah. And so them putting points on the board, not necessarily a major concern for me, but in the SEC, you should be able to lean on their offensive line no matter what, especially when you've got two guys as highly touted as LJ McRae and

11:30especially Jaden Woods. So that is something to monitor. I would imagine they're going to have a better game this Saturday than they did last week, but Auburn is going to be a real test for that that past rush. The only thing about that game I will say, it's like when you play a FCS team, it's like O and one or O and two and you're thinking, oh, this is going to be even worse than I thought. Campbell has won their first two games. They beat East Tennessee State. They beat Western Carolina. They're 2 and O. They're going to feel pretty good about coming into the swamp tomorrow. I believe in their first two games. They've

12:35put up over 500 yards of offense on their opponents. It's a team with literally nothing to lose. So I would imagine if you're Campbell with confidence after your first two wins, you're going to come in there in the first quarter tomorrow. You're going to throw it around. You're going to see what happens because you're only shot of staying in the game is to put points on the board. Something they did do pretty well in their first two contests. That they have and their quarterbacks got a little juice as well. Camden Sixkiller, which incredible football name. What's his last name? Camden Sixkiller. That is great. Which some of our older fans may remember his grandfather, Sonny Sixkiller, played at Washington back in the 70s. One of the best players in Washington history. He's got a little bit of juice. He has almost 700 passing yards through their first two games. So obviously FCS competition. It's a bit of a step. Sure. To play Florida. But my point is they're feeling pretty good about things. They've won their first two games. It's a team that's confident

13:38coming in. This offense may be just good enough. Maybe they landed jab or two. Something like that. Florida's not on upset watch. Anything like that. But I could see maybe not maybe not fireworks. A little spark here and there. But to your point, you needed to see stuff out of the gator D line tomorrow. All right. People say, well, the gators were vanilla last week. They don't want to show Auburn anything. Well, man on man. Florida should have guys, man versus man that should beat FAU guys. And they should darn sure have guys, man versus man. They're going to be Campbell guys. If the gator D line struggles on getting to the quarterback again, Sharon, that's going to be a concern. That that it's going to be we're getting some comments that the audio went out. We're going to have someone come and check that here in a second. On our end, it looks like we're getting audio. But yeah, it's it's a situation where Florida should relative with relative ease come come in and take care of business on Saturday. As long as everyone comes out of this situation healthy, I think that's the main thing. If you come

14:40out of this with obviously with a win and the guys come out healthy and they're ready for Auburn next week, I think I would talk that up as a win. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. So Florida and Campbell 530 tomorrow, SEC Network Plus. Of course, you'll hear the game on 1010 Excel and 92.5 FM, kick off at 530 pregame coverage will begin at 230 on Saturday afternoon. Outside of the gators, it's actually a really good SEC week for week two. We're the first true conference game with Alabama and Kentucky. I don't think Alabama is going to have much of a problem. Maybe that game's close at halftime. Of course, Alabama plays Florida State next week. We'll talk much more about that a week from now. But as far as Alabama, Kentucky, do you expect a wildcats to give the Crimson tide any problems? I think it's an interesting spot. Will Stein, former offensive coordinator at Oregon coming in head coach now at Kentucky. We've seen we've seen how good these these offences

15:42those offences at Oregon are and he was a big part of that. So they they brought in some guys out of the transfer portal. So I'm interested to see what they can do. I mean, Kaylyn DeBoer's Alabama hasn't exactly been the most consistent team in the world. So I wouldn't be shocked if we get past halftime and this is a game in Lexington. Yeah, I mean, anytime you go on the road in the southeastern conference, who really knows, but you would expect all of them to go in there and take care of business. We'll see what Kentucky and that first year staff has. Kentucky did look good last week in a 45 13 victory over Youngstown State. Interesting inner conference games tomorrow or intra conference games tomorrow. Texas A&M Arizona State, some bragging rights between the SEC and the big 12 A&M's a double digit favorite in that game. A lot is expected of Texas A&M we'll see what Marcell Reed and the Aggies have. But anytime you get a team like Arizona State that you know can score Texas A&M better come ready to play tomorrow. They definitely have to be

16:43on their toes because Kenny Dillingham, one of the best coaches in the country. So you have to plan for that. They don't have Sam Levitt there anymore either as well. So you're getting a dip in quarterback play on that spot as well. I expect A&M to win this game with relative ease. I don't think Arizona State is going to get back to the level they were a couple years ago when they had Levitt and cam scataboo. So I think A&M is going to walk away with this one pretty easily. I think I'd probably take them on the points. Now you're a big 10 guy. We got a couple of SEC big 10 matchups. We'll get to the big one in a moment. There's actually another one tomorrow. Do you know about the other SEC big 10 matchup? Well, we got three. Oh, is that three others three. So Minnesota, Mississippi. Yeah, that's the one I was referring to. Minnesota Minnesota, Mississippi states going on that obviously Texas Ohio State. Oh, I didn't even think of Texas Ohio State. Yeah, one of the big games of the year. I was thinking Michigan, Oklahoma as well. Yes. So there's a lot of bragging rights. Let's quickly begin with the third of those three. Not that we're going to break this game down by found it interesting. First time an SEC team is visiting Minnesota in like six

17:49and a half decades. Wow. You got to go back like 60 plus years to have an SEC team traveling two Minnesota to play the golden gofers. That's crazy. That is a long time. I think it's going to be a fun game. I do too. I'm excited about it. Anytime the SEC and the big 10 get together, it should be. For people that don't know, Trent is I would say a die hard Michigan man. Is that fair? Yes. All right. You're from Indianapolis. I am. But your family got to hold you as a child and there was no Indiana. There was no Notre Dame. It was all Michigan. So quickly explain yourself from what's the week in the Michigan Western Michigan Fiasco. Well, I'll keep I'll keep this short because I know this is and keep it PG based on what you were telling me earlier. I keep it. I was I've been very un PG about this all week. First of all, I me personally, I think a lot of Michigan fans agree we don't care about the outcome of the game because either way we got our butts kicked

18:50by Western Michigan for an entire game, which should never happen if you're Michigan, especially when you have a head coach and Kyle winning hand would pride himself on physicality and the trenches. But this entire situation has been blown out of proportion partly because Michigan a few years ago, may or may not have been doing the things they were supposed to be and I understand that. But what the situation with the cheating they were doing, it did allegedly allegedly the Connor, what's his name Connor, Connor Stallions, Michigan legend and American hero. Connor Stallions fought for his country and I will respect them always. We were just talking my fantasy football team name the 10th and XL league is Connor. It is. But all jokes aside with that. So here's the situation as it stands. The big 10 sent their their process and their recording to the Mac Athletic to the conference, the mid up the Mac conference and to Western Michigan. Western Michigan and the

19:53Mac agreed, okay, you guys went about it the right way and that's what the situation was that the clocks were desinked NBC's clock was off by a half second, maybe even less than a half second. And that's what caused the confusion on the field. A couple days later the Mac puts out a statement saying that they want to they want the game overturned. But they don't want the game overturned because the referees did not follow their correct clock. The process that they went about it is wrong. Go ahead. So the NC according to the NCAA rule book, if there is any confusion on the clock, you go with whatever the broadcast clock is to avoid that confusion. So the referees did not know about this confusion with the NBC clock in the moment because they just have their in stadium clock, not the the matchup that's wrong. So the Mac is arguing, you got it right.

20:57There should have been a second left on the clock. Michigan should have had that play. But according to your rules, you should have went with the incorrect NBC clock because that's the letter of the law and we should have been awarded the win. So and I don't debate a lot of what you said, but let me just put it out in layman's terms. Let's be elementary about this. So the millions of people watching the game on NBC saw that it was all zeros. Yes. The 100,000 people in the big house looking at the scoreboard saw it was all zeros. And the only people that knew that it wasn't all zeros were the big 10 employees that were in an attic somewhere in the big house with their clock. Is that basically what you're saying? That it will the referees aren't aware that NBC's clock is not synced up with their clock. They don't have controls, quote unquote their clock. The referees on the field. So the referees had the clock in the stadium. The shot of the clock

22:04that NBC had was not correctly synced up with their broadcast. I was talking about you with this a little bit before we went on air. There are screenshots. If you go down millisecond by millisecond that the clock on the scoreboard says 36 on the last Western Michigan fuel goal and NBC's clock says 35. The clock I haven't seen those. I'll take your word for it. I saw 35 on the scoreboard. Oh, coach, believe me, Michigan fans have been looking at this like this, a brutal film. My my thing is like big picture wise. And let's get back to Michigan, Oklahoma tomorrow. There is a part of me that feels bad for the Michigan kids in this because they made a great play. I mean, the 47 yard hail Mary or whatever it was to win the game was a hell of a play. I mean, that was great. Nobody's talking about it because of the ending of the game. And because of their conference and because of the way it was handled, they are now the enemy. If you're on out of Michigan alum or a Michigan fan, I don't know who's rooting for Michigan the rest of the year

23:09because of what we saw at the end of the Western Michigan game. And in our neck of the woods, down here in the southeastern conference, where of course, Trent, as you know, since you've moved here, it just means more when you have Oklahoma playing Michigan tomorrow. I want to call good old J R Jim Ross, who I know has spent some time here in Jacksonville. And I want to go crack open a beer and root for the Oklahoma sooners like there's no tomorrow because of what transpired against Western Michigan last week. And I can't from from a lot of the perspectives. I can't blame. I'm not going to sit here and look, I have been so in the weeds with this. I fully believe that Michigan rightfully won that game. But I understand why that doesn't exactly pass the smell test to the rest of the country. So I completely understand it. I think the game is going to be a bit closer than a lot of people seem to think it's going to be. Now, if Michigan comes out and looks how they did against Western Michigan, they'll lose by four touchdowns. John Matier will have a field day against them.

24:09Is the game so now in our room? Yeah, I don't think Oklahoma is going to blow them out. I'm rooting for them to blow it out. I could even see Michigan winning. And the Michigan wins in the narrative changes. That would be a great win for them. Because I know a lot of people seem to like Brent Venable as an Oklahoma are doing. I just have never been so interested in a Michigan game in my life as I will be tomorrow and so invested in a team that's not Florida. I will be passionately rooting for Oklahoma. And again, I almost feel bad about that because it's not the Michigan kids fault but I just rooting so anti big 10 about the way they handled that situation last week. Yeah, and I understand why people why people feel that way. Michigan fans are kind of used to be in the bad guys after 2023. And we're also kind of used to in our opinion stuff being blown out of proportion going back to 2023. So I totally get that it's going to be Michigan versus everybody. I don't think the fans in Ann Arbor have a problem with that one bit. I think they had a problem

25:13with that a few years ago. I think they're a bit used to it now. That stadium is going to be rocking. It would be a great atmosphere. And is that the big noon game on Fox? It is. It is. I think it's going to be a great environment. Brent Venable is one of the best defensive minds in the entire country. We've seen what's what's happened to Clemson since since since he's left. Oh, that was good. Oh, since since he's taking the job. So I think it'll be a good game that line keeps getting lower and lower last night. It was Oklahoma minus five and a half. I believe it's down to four and a half this morning. So I think Vegas may know something we don't with that, but I would expect Oklahoma to come out with a way. So you got Mississippi State Minnesota. You got Oklahoma and Michigan. And then of course the big one, which I just wasn't even thinking. Texas and Ohio state that game is in Austin. That's where game day will be tomorrow. Obviously the great quarterbacks. Everything that goes with it. What's a quick thought on Ohio State, Texas? I think Archmaning's going to win the Heisman trophy this year. I believe what we saw in the back half of last year.

26:17That Florida game last year where Arch was was to put it mildly just not very good. It was almost like a light went off in his head. And I the back half of the last year, he was very good. I think he's kind of figured things out. Kim Coleman outside of Malachi Tony and Jeremiah Smith. I think he's the best wider saver in the nation. I Ohio State, Ohio State and they're going to be very good. I think it's going to be a great game. I do think game game is in Austin. I think Texas walks away with the win. It'll be quite the Saturday. A lot of bragging rights on the line between the big 10 and the southeastern conference. And by the way, the big 10 is one back to back to back national championships. Let's say the big 10 goes three in a row tomorrow. Dude, I mean, it's big for the SEC. You want Mississippi State to beat Minnesota. You want Oklahoma to beat Michigan. You want Texas to beat Ohio State. If you want to be considered the best conference in college football, well, the SEC hasn't been for the last three years. They get three opportunities tomorrow to get a little of

John Someral knows what Gator fans want. They want spurrier. They want urban. They want high flying offense. They want a ton of points. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do that. I don't think Philo is going to be playing into the second half of the second quarter. I wouldn't imagine. Probably see a lot of Tramel Jones tomorrow. I certainly hope so because I hope Tramel continues to get as many reps as he can because he's also not the most experienced guy. Not at all. Yeah. And goodness forbid something happens to Aaron Phylo. He's got to be ready as well when you get into that tough SEC slate in the back half of the year. That pregame stretch of Texas Georgia, Oklahoma in the back half. So I hope Tramel gets a lot of play. I can't imagine Phylo and a lot of the major key starters are going to play much. But like I said, get the win. Get out healthy. Prepare for Auburn. A game that I think Florida is going to have a great day in looking ahead just a couple weeks. I think Florida is going to head

29:29into that Ole Miss game three and 0. Do you call on your shot? All right. As far as tomorrow goes, like you said, get in. Get some solid work. Build a early lead. Get out and stay healthy. The Gators appear to have dodged a bullet with Eric Singleton last week. He's not going to play tomorrow, but there is a chance he plays against Auburn. That was really the only significant injury, I believe. Don't have guys go down tomorrow against Campbell. Again, Campbell's 2-0. They'll feel pretty good coming in. But obviously they've wins over East Tennessee State and Western Carolina. That's not the swamp. I'll be at it 5-30 on a Saturday afternoon. I expect Florida big. I'm not breaking any news there. We'll be back one week from today to talk about a gargantuan matchup between Florida and Auburn, Primetime Saturday night on the plains, out in Jordan Hare.
