About this episode
The number of discarded vapes ending up in household bins and littering our streets has become a growing environmental and fire safety concern.
At this month's meeting of Clare County Council, Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor Rita McInerney secured support for examining a pilot scheme for dedicated vape disposal bins across the county.
She's also calling on the Government to introduce a national deposit-return or reward scheme for vaping devices, similar to the successful bottle and can return scheme.
Councillor Rita McInerney joined Alan Morrissey to discuss the proposal.
