Caledonia Mining CEO: Blanket resources grow, maiden Motapa resource declared as pipeline builds

Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL, VFEX:CMCL) CEO Mark Learmonth spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest resource updates at Blanket Mine and Motapa, and how exploration could support further production growth alongside the development of Bilboes. Learmonth said the updates highlight organic growth opportunities across both the producing Blanket Mine and exploration-stage Motapa project. Caledonia has been investing in exploration at Blanket since completing the Central Shaft in 2021, with subsequent work identifying additional material at depth with improved grades and widths. Caledonia Mining: Blanket resources grow, maiden Motapa resource declared as pipeline builds Blanket's underground measured and indicated mineral resources have increased 22% to approximately 2.2 million ounces, further supporting its position as a long-life asset. Caledonia is working on a revised life-of-mine plan that could extend operations beyond 2034 and support higher production. The company has also identified and declared a shallow oxide resource at Blanket that could contribute incremental production as early as the first half of next year, with further exploration and metallurgical work planned around a new sulphide resource. At Motapa, Caledonia has announced a maiden measured and indicated mineral resource of 379,000 ounces, with Learmonth stressing that exploration currently covers only a small proportion of the property and further targets remain. Looking ahead, Learmonth said: "We already have a clear growth plan up to just over 270,000oz of gold in 2029, and that's the first full year of production at Bilboes," adding that the latest results raise the possibility of further production growth at both Blanket and Bilboes.
