The Cal Thomas Commentary is brought to you by Values Through Media. Now here's Simplicated Columnless, Cal Thomas. If you've just sent your child or grandchild off to college and paid those increasing tuition and fees, I've got some bad news for you. The Wall Street Journal reports the job market looks good even if you don't have a college degree. The unemployment rate for workers between the ages of 22 and 34 who have never graduated from college has rarely been lower in the past two decades. And yet, as Polsters Mark Penn and Andrew Stein write in the journal, the share of 18 to 24-year-olds who attend college has increased by roughly half since 1969. It seems our institutions of higher learning are busy producing the dumbest generation, one that succumbs easily to the social media sirens championing socialism, while in reality they yearn for the same old elements of the American dream their parents wanted, owning a home, getting paid well for good work, and maybe starting a business. So unless the student is in medical or law school and be careful which law school, college

degrees and majors such as women's studies and sociology aren't likely to resolve it a good job. I'm Cal Thomas. For a free copy of today's commentary visit caltomers.com or write us at values through media. For more information visit caltomers.com.
