Bergham stressed that Alaska stands out as a reliable source, free from risky shipping routes or threats from unstable regions. A major pipeline project in the state is gaining steam, though no final call has been made yet. Officials say it's progressing steadily to boost energy supplies. Meanwhile, the Department of the Interior is reviewing the Federal Substance Management System, which gives priority to rural Alaskans for hunting.
