Browns Draft Reaction: Fano and Concepcion's Media Debut

0:00Not been about 15 minutes here. We did just here from Spencer Fanno and Casey Concepcione. A little nervous today in front of the media. Is Dale Ryder really that in maybe nerve-wracking? Oh, you thought they were both nervous? Yeah, I heard a lot of um, you know, is there today? A couple things attached to that. Uh, you know, Fanno is a, he's a massive nerd. He really is. Uh, and I don't mean to, yet again, he has a type. I just think like Miles Garrett and him are going to get along in a great way. And so like, I mean, I, I've renaulsed to things about it. He's got, uh, he loves anime, he loves the Legos, he loves all these other type of things. So Miles Garrett's going to have a little bit of a buddy there, uh, but you can tell he was nervous. And what's funny about him is that as I listen to this other interview, he did with K Adams the other day. And he was talking about his fianceing and getting engaged. And he had that same nervous energy that was attached to what you heard there. And so I think that's just, that just might be how he is. But he's easy to root for both of them are easy to root for. And they, they held up their jerseys and did the whole photo. Concepts you home being number 17 is great. Cause 17 is my favorite number.

You never see that left tackle right tackle. I was trying to think of my brain. I'm like, who, who's been 55 that's a left tackle or any sort of tackle? I remember James Hudson on one team. I think wore 55. But that's very rare. Yeah. I was think 50. Edless and I, I'm old schooled numbers. Now that being said, I always wanted to wear 90s. I thought because again, like Reggie White 92, Bruce Smith, like Michael Dean Perry, like I always loved if you had 92 or 98, there's my favorite football numbers for the hog Mollies. Sure. Sure. I wish offensive lineman would understand the value of the 90s. I know with with the Browns, they just made it in the 70s. 2:09the arm thing is officially weird to me. Spencer Fanno went out of his way. Uh, you didn't go, he was asked a question about it, but he confirmed it's always been 33 inches. Just not the combine. No, no, life. What is this? 35 inch arms. That's like, all right. The point of the combine is that there's supposed to be professional measures and testers. So the place where that, there's supposed to be like the best at that. That's the one place where they apparently were like shortening a man and inch. Is that what I'm to believe? You could tell he's just annoyed by the convoy. And I get it. I'd be annoyed by the convoy if I were him because it's like the only, it's the only area in this whole conversation where he falls short for people. Yeah. Well, it is funny. Like whether his arms are 33 inches or what is it? 32 and a quarter? Was that what it was? Well, whatever it is, the truth is the Browns are banking on his athleticism to make up for whatever deficits he has with his wingspan every side last night. And that's what he's focused on. The athleticism will take care of the hand in terms of the, the like the schematic, the blocking

Like it's, it's not as if their logic is in congruous with like what their actual philosophy is with this offensive blocking scheme, the wide zone scheme. So that's good. That's a nice thing. And again, I just, I will tell you, like I wide receivers that have catch issues scare the crap out of me. They just do. I think I look at Spencer Fano and say, if that dude's a left tackle and he just plays for the next five to 10 years here, this is it. You know, we need one or two other really good football players from here because you're hoping for two to three starters from every class. If you got that, you're, you're winning. You're building a championship every year, right? We should remind people where Andrew Barry made his money last year was what happens tonight. You know, that's stretching or that's jetkins. That's Harold Fannon. That all existed on day two. And so we're just kind of getting started with this whole thing. And conception home, by the way, the only thing that kind of rubbed me the wrong way with what he had to say. And again, both of them are very easy to root for. They're very easy to just kind of be like, all right, I like you both. I instantly like you

4:16both him watching a lot of Tevon Austin clips like that. That's a little odd. Did it not? Or Jerry Judy? Like was that those two wide receivers that can't catch? You've got to ask specifically about Jerry Judy. I understand that. But like the Tevon Austin thing was just a little weird to me. I mean, the Tevon Austin highlight tape is, is the greatest highlight tape of all the time. I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised at all by that. Okay. He's one in the what top 10. I think it was a number eighth, eighth overall in the first round and never had a 600 yard receiving season over like 10 years. Like that's the guy that's the guy you're watching. He was gifted in other ways. Again, legendary highlight tape from him at West Virginia. It is known it again. It is known widely that the Tevon Austin highlight tape is the greatest of all time. Okay. But the moment that you don't have a 600 yard season in the NFL was the moment that I I stopped telling people I watched you a ton. When you're taking top 10 and you have a you have a 10 year career. And I I mean, he never came close to sniffing anything more than five touchdowns in a season and never had more

5:20than 600 yards in any given season. We just kind of let by you come up with a different name in that moment. I didn't I didn't say his NFL tape. I said his West Virginia tape in particular. It is widely regarded as the greatest highlight tape of all time. This is the angriest Mac Robinson has been very anything. It's an admitted. He's not coded. It's an admitted. You know, so far, I can't be mad at Andrew Berry. He had a good draft last year. This one's starting. I'm not too bad. You know, see what we got. So it's interesting. That's, uh, that line, that last line, I actually have heard a lot because again, I, I did he, I mean, the, the most reaction that I've heard to this draft is people didn't like it. But the second most is, well, I'm one way about it, whether I love it, hate it, whatever, in between. But after last year, I'm going to give Andrew Berry some leeway here. And I think that's interesting because I, I'm still in the Andrew Berry has to prove it to me that he can do this. But I can't, I mean, there were four starters last year and four guys are thinking to be impact players going forward. Last year, bottom, uh, some good faith with the fans. There's no denying that. But now this year, what's interesting is that, uh, it just wasn't

7:26sexy enough for people. I think is the answer there. I, I, what I think a lot of people can recognize that is what they needed to do. And I think that's where that's kind of maybe where the divide happens for a lot of fans in this conversation. Yeah. And I, I, listen, I think people don't know if Fanno's going to be a left tackle, whether they're going to play him at left tackle for a year and then figured out from there or not, like Will Campbell in New England. And a lot of people look at it and say, Oh, why do you see with drops? I remember Corey Coleman, I remember Anthony Schwartz, like every guy that we've taken that fits either profile, uh, questionable left tackle or, uh, wide receiver that has catch issues. Yeah, those haven't worked out. I do understand it. I don't necessarily share it again. I, I'm in the fine category. All right. I like the trade down, um, in spite of the fact that you didn't take Jordan Tyson, they were never going to take Jordan Tyson. That's what that proves. If they were going to take Jordan Tyson, they just would have taken them at six. Like that, that really greedy and just fumbled the whole entire thing, but we'll never find that out. I, I think, I think maybe it's because I, you know, I listened to Nathan

8:27yesterday on the radio network. He was, he was convinced they were taking an tackle, no matter what, whether it was set six with nine if they had traded down further. So maybe that's just seeped in there. But I, I happen to think he's right. I think that's what the, the Spencer Fanno thing proves. But so from that, I'm booing it with I really like that. And then we'll see on KC concept, see on kind of where you, that's kind of where I am. But if you're, the, the people I can't understand are people that are just hair on fire pissed off today. I get, I mean, I get it. I do, but I don't get to sit like the day after. No, I just, it's the day to be a horror. It does help the carnal Tate when it for, because I think if we reversed it and let's say Tyson went at four to the Titans and then carnal Tate was sitting there and then you moved from six to nine. My point is from a Brown's perspective, you don't want to sell us that you're the guy that was all sizzle and no steak in the NFL and was just a highlight factory in college. Can you see how from my angle? That's not getting me juiced up. I do want to know which highlight tape. Jack's loves more. Taven Austin or a bell of danger. I'm, I don't think it sounds like it's, he's going to take on Austin here. Does that make sense? Does that make sense? Yeah. You're right. That's Brandon that tape. The college college does nothing for me. That does nothing for me. He's on the browns. He plays in the NFL. Pull up the tape on Austin tape in the NFL and I'll show you all sizzle, no steak.
