Edmonton got pounded seven, two, and they were second best in every aspect of that game. And that said, if they can win tonight against the Blues, who threw in the towel, basically the trade deadline. And of course, now our plane liberated and freeing some of their best talking of the season. If Edmonton can find a way to win, they end up going three and one on a four game road trip, which you would certainly take at this stage. The team had some chances and did not simplify enough on offense.

4:13Dallas did. Dallas put some pucks to the net and scored some goals as a result. And it was an old fashioned butt kick in this. After the orders limited the Vegas cold of nights and the Colorado Avalanche. Two pretty good teams. I mean, Colorado's the best team in the league to basically five A grade scoring chances in the two previous games, but it was not pretty last night in Dallas. Here we go. Yeah, come shot scores. Redirection by Dickinson. Well, smart play by Jack Russell. Like he stopped dropped and popped the pass back and the orders got a long range bomber there. Nick David is none too happy. He gets tied up under its covenants down in the ice and both calling it right back up. He's got their gloves on still. All right. They got it broken up. All right. All right. All right. Cross to Ben. His shot scores. Jamie Ben off the right wing of power play goal for its covenants. Samansky go into the corner and everybody flies in there as the whistle goes. Oh, man. And now, Reds covenants is dealing with Fred Rick who just drilled them with a right to do Shane off the left wing. Will spinorama. He'll come in.

7:21The backhandy scores. Crowd appreciative of the star's effort this evening in Dallas. Seven to two. The final. Yeah, I wasn't pretty. You know, you look at the first goal against and I love having Boo Shard. But Jamie Ben's a big man. He was the net front. Tristan Jari had an issue trying to track the puck and not a surprise when a 220 pound player was sitting directly in front of you. They got a bit of a fortuitous ricochet off the back wall. I'm right back in front and Ben finds it. It's. One nothing at that point. The the orders had the goals and got robbed on low. We're going to talk a little bit more about the goals and a little bit later on on today's show because it's been. It's become quite a story on a positive side in a time in which last night, the orders had some negative. So it pulls and hits the post. The orders. Two or three times in the first period had puck possession for 30 to 45 seconds and weren't putting enough pucks on the net. They came back down the ice and Dickinson actually got stripped but got back in old play.

8:26And then they passed one down low and it was just a direct tap in kind of a tough one. Certainly for Jari to have to deal with. It's a two on one. But I let the orders maybe could have made a better play to not put themselves in the position. Then Boo Shard gets caught. This after again, another 45 second ozone cycle, not enough pucks to the net. You needed a more direct and simple game. And gets stripped and then they come back down the ice and rip a shot that Jari, you know, he didn't stop, but it also didn't go directly to the post and then ricocheted back in him. And at that point, it's three nothing. The power play goal, they got a good power play and their power play was playing simple. And the orders power play was not playing as direct. And so they make it for nothing on the power play, get a deflection on the five, nothing goal. Then the orders score a couple. Then we had the rough stuff at the end of the period. The problem with it, most of you listening to the show right now. And you can always text us on the actually five floors text line at seven eight zero four five one eight eight hundred. Like, you know, we're from Alberta. We're not going to have a problem with, you know, Leon Tucka, you know,

9:30there's a little bit of gamesmanship going on with Leon and Connor got involved. And yes, the orders were frustrated. And yes, you like to see some other players get involved. And they didn't the third period, but, you know, like, put calls and wasn't on the ice in that sequence. Frederick wasn't on the ice. Anyways, the bottom line here is, you know, the orders top guys stood up for themselves. And Justin Ritzkoviin was involved in a bunch of it. He tripped the orders bench at one point and put calls and went and trailed them across the ice and told them, look, I, I'm not the guy out last year. You know, you know, I mean, I don't know what he said to him. But I'm sure that Ritzkoviin who's a very useful player and whose brother plays at Northeastern is a top NCAA recruit. I mean, that guy had an impactful game last night. He got in the orders kitchen a bit. But you know, there was some pleasantries likely exchanged at that stage. So, you know, five, two after two, the orders couldn't make much happen. The rest of the way in Dallas, full marks for a 72 victory. Still two in one in the road trip.

10:31Edmonton needs a more simple and direct offensive approach. And they need some more stops. That's, it's just that simple. That's to this. Back in the orders now, audio vault. And here is Chris Knoblock on the game last night. Obviously, very disappointed with the way the game ended. You know, I'll start with a very good first opportunity that goes in. You know, lead in the second period. I thought we had an opportunity to have some pushback. We had a power play. Henryk won off the crossbar. It would have made it 5-3. They always start the second period and are the third period. And basically on the power play. And that's pretty much the end of the game. All right. Knoblock also added these thoughts in the difference between the game and Colorado and the game in Dallas. I think in the first period, we didn't have many opportunities playing the offensive zone. We want to stick handle through. They are a very defensively structured team. They had numbers back. It's tough to get through there. And then even when we did, we didn't have much speed to go get those pucks.

11:32And we need to simplify it a little more so we can get some forecheck. And then, you know, force them into making some mistakes. Knoblock also shed some insight. And Conor McDavid is serving himself physically in the match up there with Ritzkovian. Obviously he's very frustrated in trying to fire up our team. And, you know, they like the shot. It's only on where they're trying to clear the puck. And they just, you know, just roughed it up a little bit. But, yeah, obviously there's a lot of fire from our leaders. And we need that. You know, here's Zach Hyman on McDavid throwing hands at the end of his second period. He's the last guy that should be doing that to be honest. So, I think as a group, we just, you know, one thing's going like that. I think that there's ways to be engaged. And I think you just, you saw him trying to pull our group back into the fight and we on as well. And I think that we can do a better job as a team to push back than we did.

12:33But, you know, it wasn't enough, obviously. All right. The orders have a chance to go three and one in the road trip. If they can win tonight in St. Louis, these are the comments of Zach Hyman after last night's game. I mean, we played well. Obviously the last few games today was an off one. Chance to get three or four on a hard road trip. So, we have an opportunity to make it a good road trip. And it won't be easy. These guys are playing well. When we come back, we're going to talk a bit about what happened last night in Toronto. And, contextually, tie it a little bit to what's happened in Edmonton. It's 317 in oil country. I will tell you that Hart Levine from Buck Bedeop is mentioning that the Oilers I just want to read the tweet. I always want to get the source correct on this sort of stuff. Where is the Buck Bedeop? He is reporting that the Hamilton Oilers have added Colton Dock to LTIR and called up Max Jones. They will have 300,000 in space remaining in LTIR with 22 active players on LTIR.

14:39Dock, Lazar, and Yan Mark. So we will probably expect to tweet out of the Oilers here. Well, certainly by a 4 o'clock Edmonton. I don't know what time it is now. It is 322. Maybe by 5 o'clock Edmonton time at the latest. Okay. And we will get to the full game day liner report a little bit later on in the show. So last night, many of you saw Radco-Gutus stick his knee out on Austin Matthews. He is the Maple Leafs best player. He is their captain. Afterwards Morgan Riley talked about the fact that he needed to have done something in that situation. And it made me think of twice this year of facility Pat Colson, who has become a wonderful story. Once Conor McDavid got caught in the trolley tracks by 6 foot 4. Johnathan Colvicevic and Pat Colson immediately dropped his gloves, took the instigator and fought Colvicevic. The second time was Ridley Gregg. And Rand Matias Akholm and put Colz and immediately dropped his gloves and Ridley Gregg was in a defensive posture because Vasilis is a bigger man.

15:46Vasilis Pat Colzins become, you know, by the way Morgan Riley when Ridley Gregg put the puck in the empty net, took the slap shot with the net with Ottawa and Toronto. He went after Ridley Gregg. But you know, Radco-Gutus is a little bit, I don't know if the leaf players were stunned, but I will tell you that it was an ugly looking hit on Matthews. How many of you, how many of you out there thought there was a record, is it response from Toronto? Is we're going to talk about this with Brian Burke and we're going to talk about this with Ryan Rashog. To me, that wasn't a good enough response. And the one thing I'll say is the owners do have some players that step up and nobody has stepped up more than Vasilis Pat Colz. And this is becoming a wonderful story for Edmonton. Acquired for a fourth round draft pick, a former 10th overall selection, and the NHL draft by Vancouver, who let's face it, they gave up on the guy. The owners got him for a fourth. I can tell you within the first two weeks of training camp, the coaches were telling me that this player was going to exceed everybody's expectation because how hard he worked. He worked relentlessly at his craft. I remind you that Valerie Nechushkin, who was a 10th overall pick, another Russian, with Dallas one year, played 57 games and did not score a goal.

16:55But Colzons got 15 goals. He's plus 15 on this team. He's leading the team in hits with 200. And he's stepped up and fought a couple times on his teammates behalf. And I know this about Edmonton. You like people that work hard. You do. You love Ryan Smith. You like Kelly Buckberger. You like guys that bust their ass. And I'm not going to sit here and say all burdens are better than everybody else. But I think there's some core and intrinsic expectation level that you get rewarded when you work hard. And put Colzons is scratching the surface. He's because he worked so hard. He's got more games to give. And I love it. I love it that he brings the juice. I love it that he brings some energy. I love it that he hits. I also love the fact that he plays a North South game. And he plays simple and direct. Frankly, you can make an argument that at times when the orders game goes off. It's because they're not playing simple and direct. Well, he does play simple and direct.

17:56So, and I bring this up and Lou, the fact of what happened last night with the Leafs. And again, we'll circle back to this during the course. Biggers field condors back to it tonight. They're in Texas for a two-game stint with the stars.

18:56And the Edmonton Oil Kings get today to find two and things. They host the Brennan Wheat Kings tomorrow in Rogers Place. So in that group, Blue Trade, that is strictly a minor league deal. Even if Bloom was good enough to play in the NHL, he can't play in the NHL when it's a minor league deal made after the NHL trade deadline. 327 in oil country.
