Blockmate Ventures chairman: Wyoming site could be 'multi-billion dollar' AI data center play

Blockmate Ventures Inc (TSX-V:MATE, OTCQB:MATEF, FRA:8MH) chairman Domenic Carosa spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about progress on the company's proposed Wyoming data center project, financing discussions, Hivello's expansion into cloud mining and AI products, and a growing pipeline of AI infrastructure projects. Carosa said Blockmate has submitted its Wyoming zoning application, an important milestone before construction can begin, while also holding discussions with financiers about funding both power infrastructure and construction, including potential equity and debt partners. The Wyoming site sits opposite a substation and could support a data center of up to 200MW. "200MW in the AI space is quite substantial and at full revenue on the basis that we own the silicon, it would be a multi-billion dollar opportunity," Carosa said, though he stressed the project is being developed in stages - zoning, power, then construction - before Blockmate considers partnering with a neocloud or hyperscaler, operating it directly, or a combination of both. Carosa also discussed investee Hivello, in which Blockmate holds around 50% on a fully diluted basis. Hivello has launched a Bitcoin cloud mining product, with its next planned product set to leverage AI or GPUs. Blockmate's infrastructure pipeline is also growing, with three additional projects underway: some more developed than Wyoming, one already with power up and running, as the company pursues a broader strategy to own, operate and build multiple AI-focused data centers.
