Best Cold Plunge Chiller?

0:00So right here we have this third of a horse powered shiller that's usually used for an aquarium, but I'm actually using it here in the bathroom because I want to do a cold plunge in here. And so I was looking for like a DIY type of thing that I can do to make cold plunge is happening, happen without breaking the bank, and this is what I found was kind of the best thing to get. So this is super easy to use. I got these little trays because I put my pump up on the top of there and they're flexible and I can silicone I can easily clean them up and whatnot so it's just a little aside. But first of all this thing has nice handles on the side right here. I can get easily get three fingers up into there. So whenever it does come to moving this thing around I can easily move it because it has a handle on this side and a handle on this side right here. Of course you have your two nougat's coming on up through the top right here and right here. It doesn't matter which one is going your in or your out. It's a bi-directional chiller. So it kind of

1:00figures it out somehow with knowing how it is. So I have this one as my out right here. You can see my water coming through that pipe and then this is the in right here which that pump is sucking water up, bringing it up through here, going through the chiller, chilling the water, and then once it's done, you know, getting it chilled for the time that it has going into there, it comes out through here and then that's going to make my water colder. You do have a nice little display right here on the front kind of gives you an idea of the current temperature of the water and then you can set this for how cold you want the chiller to get to. I just leave mine at zero degrees Fahrenheit because the water never gets that cold and I'm down here in Louisiana where it's like hot and humid most of the year and so it really helps to bring that cold water colder faster without getting down to you know those freezing cold temperatures and whatnot because that's not safe. You do have plenty of air flow coming through here and I want to point this out because it is a condenser that's

2:03in there so just like a refrigerator or like a deep freeze it's going to be putting out some hot air in the back back here and so if you're in a small bathroom like this I do want to point out that your bathroom is going to get or your room whatever room you're doing it in it's going to start to get a kind of warm in here so you may want to turn on like a vent fan or something like that to help suck up some of the heat and not only will that help with just the room temperature in here but also keeping your water cold if you're trying to do cold plunges just something that I want to point out. Now as far as setting the temperature you do have a little set button right here on the front you just simply press that it's going to put your desired temperature flashing right there and you can bring it down you know I can go bring this thing down let's see if I hold it down yeah if you hold it down it goes super fast you can bring you down all the way to negative 58 degrees and then if you want to bring it up now it'll just make you get colder faster I just haven't tested it out doing that just yet this one goes all the way up up and up I'm curious I haven't seen

3:07with a maximum is because I'm trying to do cold 230 degrees Fahrenheit so I'm gonna go ahead and bring this on down I'm actually really curious to know how cold it would get with it all the way down to its minimum so I've been leaving it at about zero degrees Fahrenheit and I've gotten this water it took a couple of hours but I got it all the way down to about like 55 or 56 degrees which was super cool so no pun intended but it worked extremely well and now I'm kind of nutical plunging like the first before I had the chiller I was filling up the tub and I was just getting it in in the first thing in the morning and it was like I have a temperature a meat thermometer up there that I used to measure my temperatures and it was 73 degrees the first couple of times like that was even still cold for me and I'd been taking cold showers for a couple of years before then and so once I got it down below that the 73

4:07with the chiller I was easily getting it down to like 65 I even got it down to like 63 and that was super cold but 57 so far has been the coldest well I want to say it maybe took like two and a half hours to get it down that cold so what I do is I turn it on in the morning whenever I get up to pee and then I either go lay back down in bed and I fall back to sleep or I'll get up like go make my coffee I'll sit outside enjoy some coffee do a little bit of like work or whatever check on my phone and whatnot and I'm like okay I guess I should take a shower at this point so I go in here I do my cold plunge and then after my cold plunge I drain all the water in there and then I just take a shower and I kind of let my body get back to temperature as the water's draining down because you kind of want to let your body you know naturally come back up to temperature from those cold temperatures because you're trying to teach it and train it how to deal with those cold temperatures better and so and then all the other you know benefits of it and whatnot but I was just looking for a very inexpensive way to be able to do a cold plunge and all the

5:12other cold bludges that I saw in the market I mean you're talking thousands of dollars this thing right here I didn't cost very much it's very affordable for the cold plunge and then it came with these hoses right here another way that I can make it get colder faster would be to upgrade my hoses to something with a bigger diameter just to let more cold water pass through here faster because these little nougatts down here I think they hold like a third of a quarter inch hose and this is a half inch so I could get a little bit more water flowing through here if I wanted to and I could get a better pump too this pump does 400 gallons per hour and they make ones that go up to like a thousand gallons per hour so I could upgrade that if I wanted to just to get more flow going through here faster but now that I've changed this I'm really curious to see if this is going to make it colder even faster so a super cool thing if y'all are looking for an easy way to do cold bludges this is the way to go right here one thing that I
