So with that being said, we're going to sit down and talk to Tony and see what he's got to say. Tony, how you doing, sir? I'm good, sir, how are you? Great. Hey, myself and Joy dog food, both would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to do this podcast with us. And we'll let you have the floor with them. Can you tell everybody out here in the podcast world, you know, some basics about yourself, your name, your age, where you live, what you do? If you want to say, you know, your family or whatever like that and where you're from, let you have the floor, sir.

Okay. My name's Tony Walters. I'm 53 years old. I lived in New Carlaw, Ohio, which is about 25 miles north of Dayton, Ohio for familiar with Dayton. I work for Arkansas's best freight, we're based out of Fortune and Farcons, Arkansas, it's a truck and company right here out of the road work right here is just puberty. It's just about six or seven minutes from where I live. My brother Chris Mournfers and I we own an operate on a creek, kill us. Which we just have beagles at this point. I got into big was well my dad, he had beagles and and two dogs and school dogs from before I was born. That's kind of how I got me and my brother got into the into the dogs as far as the hunting dogs and so what made y'all stick with the bigels over the other two dogs.

Well, you know, that was the beagles was this my dad was his name was Jim Walters. That was kind of his passion. I mean he could not you know too, but his passion was the beagles and I really enjoyed them and so. Once I done my my run with it with the two dogs and competition hunt and they're a little bit and and school dogs and I just. You know, I just drew me back to the beagles and and we just we really enjoy them and they you know running the dogs and here we don't we don't kill. Many rabbits last year we didn't even pack again to the woods we just we enjoy hearing dogs run and watching the young dogs come on and flip that switch and. It's they're pretty cool dogs are pretty impressive actually so you got. Oh yeah they're real cool you sound like me it's like and I hate killing rabbits because I know as soon as I pull that trigger and I killing that race is done and and he's not ever running again so I don't.

I don't get to run that rabbit anymore so I know where you're coming from. Yeah and that's I mean that that's true up here where we live it's you know there's not a whole lot of places to hunt there's you know they've got house of stuck and ever. Field and woods anymore you can't really get any private one to hunt and you know once you kill that rabbit you're never going to run him again so. I can buy you know I can buy me rabbits if I really want to eat a rabbit I guess but you know I just we love we we really enjoy the the hounds and watching them work and and listen to that race so that's you know to us that's what it's all about so. Oh yeah that's that's one of my I've got a I've got a sticker on the back of my little hunting truck it's exactly just for the sale of the hands you know so it's I can't really come from you know it's. It's not to three all the kill it's to say on to the hands to me so. Absolutely I agree 100% that's that's exactly how you know me and my brother feel and then the group of guys that we run with are the same way and and.

It just to me there's there's nothing like that that race when you got you know four or five six dogs on the ground and their pound on the rabbit in there and. It's just I can sit and listen to that all day long I really I really enjoy it yes and it you know it's a it's a place in the woods where you can find a little piece and quite it's not quiet it's quiet to us you know that you bring back to reality you know you can escape reality to get back to it to where you can. Reset your mind and brain and everything so I know absolutely how many dogs do y'all usually keep it on honey creek. Right now we've got eight normally we like to we like to keep six or eight you know it's I don't know I you know I everybody's got their own opinion and you know my brother and myself we both work we have full time jobs and.

You know my opinion and my brother feels the same way is you know to actually to run a dog right and and give it the traction it needs to do it right in my opinion it takes a lot of time and you know if you got for us anyway if we got twelve or fourteen dogs what we're not giving those dogs justice you know and it's it's it's it's hard for us you know what both of us work full time jobs and it's hard to do it. It's hard to run that many dogs consistently on a regular basis and you know try to work young dogs and get young dogs going and you know it just. Because six eight dogs seems to work really well you know that that's what works for our can well that's that's my sweet spot right there where you said that six day because I'm like you guys I know I can't go over. The six or eight more because I won't be able to give each individual dog the time or the credit that it needs it's just impossible you know and I understand that some guys have you know maybe quite a bit more and there I think a lot of people are looking at it they're looking for the future and I get that too you know but that sweet spot is six day for me also so I know exactly where you guys are coming from.

It's it's it's tough to you know when when you got that many dogs to you know to do them to do them justice and then you know like I said we both work full time and we both have families my brother's married he's he's got kids I'm married and I've got kids and you know trying to. Trying to juggle that and balance that out you know my opinion is tough to do that when you're trying to run you know eight ten twelve fourteen dogs or what and if you can do that hey you know that's great that's awesome more power to you I. I have you know there's nothing wrong with that I just for us it just doesn't work you're like me I just can't do it so it's it is what it is you know and you're blessed to have your brother to help you also you know I hear I'm on my own you know it's my wife helps but you know how that goes to you know she'll help and then one of feet on the damn my own hamburger or something after the fact. Yeah absolutely we were the same way all it you know it's honestly I am blessed it's it's it's a God send it you know to have my brother I wouldn't want I wouldn't want to do it by myself or with anybody else he he contributes a lot and he does a lot and I had foot surgery here back in June and I've been down and he's been doing you know all the run and and handle the dogs and and stuff and trying to do it.

And stuff and trying to you know trying to juggle mine and and and his two which you know it's it's it's a it's almost like a full-time job to be honest with you for him you know and it is I'm very I'm very blessed and and and fortunate to have him with me so it's and we you know we we have a lot of fun doing it so oh yeah it's it's a blessing for sure now I'm sure that all your dogs probably carry your candle name what is there a specific line that you like to start from you know is there a bloodline that you look for to bring into your candle when you know safe your mind a pup or something like that or does it even matter to you. Well you know it it doesn't it doesn't really matter to us per se as long as as long as those dogs you know they perform like they're supposed to and and what we like in a dog you know the two my two dogs that that I'm I'm trying right now are around.

They're out of Jason Federer's pays you stole yeah and they go back there a little make brother sister and then on the bottom side they're out of. A rackless original. Rebidol that's a large dog isn't it. What's that is it art dog that they're out of yeah the other out of the route of a their out of. Arch original Rebidol okay that's there they go back to Ranger Dan is that the ones that y'all placed in the was it it wasn't a dirty was it it was a license. Troll I went back through your face book just quick didn't y'all place some dogs up north yeah we we went we went up to blue water Michigan. The pub Derby okay and we we got to our we got the R2 pups on a bench we got a qualified for the runoff. Out of eight of our dogs we've got we've got six of them that's qualified for the for the runoff in January yeah to them being the being pups and then the other was it is.

You know the older dogs but you know we've got we've got six qualified for the for the runoff in January well I was I looked yesterday and I'm in a group chat with central Kentucky and. I had been thinking you know here in the last couple months I've got two Derby's back here at the house and I was like well I'll get them ready for central and try to get qualified and then they put out their. Try and our group last night they put out the trial they're not having a derby this year so I'm like well there goes that so I now I got to find somewhere else and. Try to run down a club that's got one where I can get try to get these two qualified I got one I think will do very well than the other one I'm a little iffy one but. It's all good I don't know about you I enjoy the Derby aspect of it which I won the Midwest runoff Derby a couple years ago the championship and I enjoy the Derby I like the young dogs you know I I have more fun with that than I do the license trial I know it doesn't mean anything except to us but I like to watch the young dogs more than I do the older dogs that's just me.

Oh absolutely I agree 100% you know the older dogs that you know my opinion the older dogs that they they should be doing what they're supposed to be doing and getting these young dogs qualified and you know getting them ran and it watching watching them young dogs progress is really what what drives me it went when you take that pop out there and it starts putting you know two and two together and and this starts clicking and that starts clicking and that starts clicking and that's. It's pretty exciting and I really enjoy the young dogs as aggra rating as they can be sometimes but it's it's a lot of fun and we we thoroughly enjoy that as well but. And that's what I was going to say if you travel enough with these Derby dogs when you're going to see some stuff now the year that I wanted we went up to meadow how and ran and a hell of a deer right now. And what surprised me is the dog the dog that I had I mean he's a hard hunt and dog and I was like I kept pushing him to I was like man why isn't he going with these dogs so I kept going I was like get in there get in and he just wouldn't leave my feet and then all of a sudden somebody said there goes the deer and I was like come here boy come here you don't have to go you don't have to go.

But you know it was just one of the things and running Derby's I'm sure you know as well as either they're going to do some things that's going to make you shake your head and scratch your head and be like why in the heck did you just do that right but I don't ever see you do this at home but when they get that get around them other six or seven dogs or they're agents it's a their dogs you know I just leave it at that their dogs. Absolutely and we've all been there we've all experienced that yes but it is for us as frustrating as it as they can be sometimes it's it's it's also very enjoyable but I love to watch a young dog and I don't care but you're dog my dog never dog or whoever you know and this is that young dog come on is just absolutely amazing to me. And you know and and I know this is kind of off the subject but you know when you when you get into competitions like Phil Trowell and or anything like that you know to me yes I go to win and I go to be competitive just like you probably do but at the end of the day to me I want to see the best dog of that day.

It's just like you said I don't care if it's hope it's mine but it doesn't have to be for me to have a good day you know I I think if everybody would slow down and yes it's competitive but come on guys especially like this you know we're running for a ribbon or a qualifying thing. Let's enjoy the dogs and get the chrome artery and and to see the best dogs win for that day. Absolutely yeah we agree 100% I mean it's you know like you said yeah you you know I hope it's my dog that's going to win and I go and I want to win but at the end of the day you know I I want it to be fair and and whatever dog does the best job that day that that dog is the dog that deserves a win whether it's my dog or not. You know I'm going to be the first one you know I'm like anybody else I used to competition 300 a lot and you know how that goes but if I'm going to get beat you know I and I get beat fairly and by by the best dog I'll be the first one to welcome shake your hand and congratulations tell you what my dog you have.

Exactly. You know that's what it's all about to us and well you know let me back up just a little bit I've got to head myself there a little bit but I when I when I got done competition. And I kind of I kind of took a break for a while and I got in the school dogs a little bit and I never did competition school but I loved I loved the school home of the dog and I got into that for a little while and I kind of got out of that and I wanted to get that's when we wanted to go back to the beagles and. We got hooked up with a real good group of guys and and I was I was looking for I was looking for a dog just to to run rabbits with I had never even give it a thought about problem or whatever we I've only been back me my brothers only been back into the beagles for about a year and a half now and last year was was the first time we we've actually filled trial you know my dad filled trial a little bit back. When we were you know we were kids growing up he ran a little island bread dogs and from out of the CB to these dogs out of West Virginia and Claire chinoweth out of West Virginia and then he got.

And he just he didn't trial them dogs he just he primarily just you know rabbit hunted and would just run the dogs you know consistently and then he got he bought. And he always gave Baker junior and he was he stood them out a little bit and the guys that he ran with said man he's he's a pretty nice dog you ought to put him in a trial or you know trial to him to see how he does and. But that did and was real successful him dad finished him and went on to bigger and better things with him but. We never really filled trial anything until we kind of got back into the beagles here a year and a half ago and the group of guys that we got hooked up with are super good guys and they helped us tremendously because. In 20 years BJ the dogs have changed so much the bloodlines are not the same as they were back then and. Like I said my dad had little island bread dogs and and the gay Baker junior dog and that's the line that he ran that you know we was never around big dogs we as far as the beagles adds up dogs were always 13 answer under and and that's what we have and that's what we've stuck with because.

I get this like anything else you go back to your comfort zone or what you're used to and that's what we were used to and that's what we went back to but the guys we got hooked up with was like you know that you know that the one the one friend of ours. And he's the president of our beagle club the great Miami beagle club now they came to know how and. We got hooked up with him to run and then he introduced the heart and that's where I bought my two dogs from and. Terry addkins I can't go up with him and you know then hunter Klein and then don's boy Ethan and we've got a we've got a super super good group that we run with and you know regularly and they kind of said that you know we're going to go over the trial whatever so we wrote along just to kind of have something to do and man I got hooked. I know it's that's our addiction I guess these little dogs and the disease it's been a blast but we've only been filled trial and just just last year and we've been pretty successful we've got we've got our dogs on a bench just about every trial we've been to and like I said we've got a mom all six of them we got qualified for the run off in January so we'll be there for sure but well that makes a big difference you know it's no I don't care if you've been into it for four months you know what you're doing.

What you've done in that short period of time is with consistently hitting the bench you've got quality dogs I mean that's proven then you know now it's here's kind of the way I look at it if I can get a dog on the bench I don't care if it's fifth place first place once I get there I think I can consistently move up and getting to where I'm needing to be you know absolutely you know once you find a method in a theory of how to get that dog there you know I'm going to get that dog there. You're good just don't change what you're doing you know and I'm like you you know here I've been around Beagle's my whole life you know I took a long break you know and I've never been one that really cares a whole lot about a trial you know I circle a few and I get ready for them but for me to have it's not about the competition aspect of for me and the Beagle's you know it's just me it's something I enjoy doing but I don't have to you know and I'm right.

But you know what you were saying what what your dad had and I'm sure you remember they're running styles and everything like that but you said you know like you said the dogs have changed over the last 20 years in your opinion do you think the dogs that your dad had not know they were 13 inch dogs and you're running 15 but do you think that that dog could compete today in that 13 inch class as today. No I don't need to believe so no I know some of mine that I had you know 15 years ago there's nobody that they totally different dogs there's no damn way they could even play the game today. Right right and that's you know dad back then those those dogs were called you know they were called gun dogs yeah I'm a true a true. True dog dog and and they were upper medium speed dogs which you know we run the 13 inch upper medium speed dogs now but the dogs are way faster now than what they were back then.

And okay now let me ask you this and I've got an opinion and we might agree and we might not agree and that's fine too. Do you think that breeding dogs today the what the it's tilted to more people were more excited about a super super fast dog then they are about a consistent track running dog how do you feel about that. Yeah I agree with that I mean back then you know it was all about the line control you know yeah you want you know you wanted a front the front and dog or a faster style dog and but today you know it just it seems to me that the dogs are are a lot faster and everybody wants that that front end dog and you know the kind of the kind of my I don't want to make anybody mad but my pain. No don't worry about that you know my opinion is if if that rabbit you know comes comes down this this trail here this path or whatever and you get a dog that's three or four feet off that line

well that dog's not running that that that line he's not he's not a line controlled dog thank you. I mean I mean that's my that's my opinion and I don't know where indifferent I mean it is what it is but you know a true rabbit dog is supposed to be and now I can see conditions on one side or the other if it's if it's a windy day or you know the conditions are you know in the conditions play a lot and I get that but you know I don't want to know my for me my brother my personal preference is I don't want a dog that's going to be three or four feet off that line my I want my double line control is important to us 100% and I don't have to have a dog that has the front I've got my male dog you know he's he's second or third most of the time in the in the pack but his strength and specialty is if they have a breakdown he'll be second or third and he'll pick that check up and go right on with it that's exactly he's not going to be over here 20 feet or 20 30 yards my I like a dog that that when they when they break down they start right

there then they start circling out and they pick that rabbit up I don't want a dog to swing out there 20 30 40 yards and pick that rabbit up and front and dogs and go on now there's days that there's days that that dog may have to do that but consistently he better start with small circles and work his way out and find that breakdown absolutely I agree 100% so you and I are kind of on the same page now like you said do I do I like a dog that's on the front end heck yeah I do if he can do it right right and there's very few that can right that's the thing if I've got a dog that that that that's going to get to the front that that dog better be able to handle the front yes you know I don't want a dog that's intermessing up the race and and overrun the track you know in 15 20 yards and then dogs coming in behind and picking it up and going oh that's not my style dog BJ I'm with you know I sure I want a dog that's going to that's going to be in the front but if that dogs in the front they

better be able to handle the front yes it's still in still at the end of the day I still always try to convert back to to thinking in my head if I was out here rabbit hunting and I had to feed my family what dog can I not live without today in this field absolutely you know and and I think a lot I think if the aspect of that would come back to the competition style of it the competition world would be and it's just my opinion would be in a little better position than what it's in now and not everybody looking for this super fast dog because speed can get you in trouble absolutely now do you feel like some of the hunt has been bred out of dogs and dogs don't hunt as hard as they did 20 years ago because my opinion I think they don't yeah I don't I don't think the dogs hunt as hard as as the dogs did 20 years ago I mean I can remember my dads my dads dogs we'd go out rabbit hunting they they would absolutely tear apart or thicket in a brush pile apart

yes I mean they would be under it through it in it over top of it and these dogs today and and not not all don't don't don't get me wrong I'm not category you know categorizing all of them but they just seem like they don't they don't hunt as hard and as thorough as they did 20 years ago again that's my opinion and you know the format that that that we run is a KC I don't know I'm not been to it because like I said we just started traveling last year again but I'm not been to a PKC or a UKC or a ARJ hunt or anything like that I don't know those those dogs but the dogs that that we run and that we've seen in the trials that the the six or eight trials that we've been in it just don't seem to have the hunt that those dogs did back 20 years ago and the only thing I can contribute that to is it's been bred out of yeah it's all boils down to the breeding aspect you know and just like I said while ago I and to each their own you know so let's put that out there before

people get mad at us but to each their own you run you feed you run what you like and what you enjoy this is just opinions but you know I think one the one the change started making everybody was like well if you ain't first your last or if you ain't the first your view never changes you know the scenery never changes if your dog's not in front well once you start breeding all for speed speed speed you've got to take away something something you're right absolutely and so the hunting aspect of it the the grit and the the want to get into some you know to these thick nasty places goes away because you're looking for easy access you know and I'm guilty of it too you know I mean it's you know I get looking at dogs I'm like that going at dogs is white man fast and that's all I see of him you know but then it's like then you come back and you see a dog just like well X dog over here has jumped 90% of the races today but now after she jumped on or he jumped on

she's fourth or fifth in the pack but without that jump dog or that dog that's willing to get in her hunt these speed dogs have no they they can't do anything until that rabbit's up so I guess for all of us we kind of need to maybe take a step back and say all right we've got to speed now let's figure out a way to get the hunt back right maybe I'm wrong I don't know I'm maybe I'm thinking too much into it but I don't know that's right once you start breeding and whether it's you know it doesn't matter what you're breeding for or what once you start you know you start that breeding program you start breeding for speed speed speed speed you're 100% right you're going to breed something out of that dog out of that line or that dog or whatever whether it's whether it's line control whether it's hunt whether we know whatever the situation may be and yeah again going back to what you said I you know I don't want to make anybody mad mad either

and I don't care what you run you know as long as that dog suits you that's all the matter she doesn't matter what anybody else's opinion is if you're happy with that dog more power to you that that's what matters at the end of the day is what you enjoy and what style of dog that that suits you that you like you know you don't want to kind of buy the dog food for that dog you're the one who's got to go clean the kennels and put the time in it that you know spend the gas money in to go run the dog in hotels and you know entry fees and so at the end of the day you know it's whatever suits you now you know that that it didn't bother me it doesn't matter to me one way out I got my style of dog you got your style of dog if you're happy with that I'm taking the death letter that's right if you're happy I'm happy for you that's all that I said to end of the day okay so let's let's take a step back here and get back to dogs when you are looking say say you've got three I'm just going to shoot two-year-old dogs

and you are looking to say I'm going to compete with one of these three dogs what is something that that one dog has to do to make it special to you before you will say I'm ready to invest my time my money and my effort into getting this dog ready to compete well first of all I may be for like a better terms maybe I'm greedy but to me there's there's gotta be more than one thing obviously hunt is I gotta have a dog that hunts I've gotta have a dog that that don't quit I don't I don't that dogs gotta have the drive and no quit if him or her brains I mean brains is a big thing a dog's gotta be smart and like I talked about earlier you know line control is very important to us here at Hunter Creek Kennel's and I don't I don't want a dog that that you know is off

that line three or four feet that's not what I'm that's not what I'm looking for but to me it's they've got to have the drive and the brains is probably the two biggest things and then you know obviously the hunt and the line control and like I said to me it's more than one or two things when I look at when I look at a dog and you know like I said earlier the the the breeding has changed so much I didn't know I didn't know the pedigrees I guess like if I look at a you know a weird Creek bread dog or whatever I didn't know what speed that that dog was because you know everything has changed you know the the little Ireland bread dogs those have changed from what they used to be you know so there's there's to me it's got to be more than one or two things it's you know the drive is is a big thing I want I gotta have a dog it's got heart it's got the drive the desire the brains the line control you know I'm like everybody else I

want the total package you know perfect dog and we all know they don't make those but yeah the one I guess if there was one thing that I had to pick it would it would have to be that that that driving no quit yeah yeah that's that's a fact I mean that dog cannot give up you know I don't care if we're six or eight hours in he cannot give up you know I mean if he does I don't want to I don't want to further him more because you know once he quits we know he's a quitter right right I just can't have that and what type of terrain is you know how the part of oh how where you're at are is there hillie stuff or is it mostly flat or yeah right right here we're at it's flat it's it's very flat and you go south of us down to you know down to southern Ohio you go an hour and a half south of us and you know down around to the coffee and Jackson and Athens and it's hillie down there but right here we're at it's it's flat everything we have around here is just flat okay we don't have any we don't have any rolling hills or you

you might find a spot here there don't have a little what I call a little bit of rolling hills but we are 99.9 percent but as a pancake here that's it's I we at times I wish I could find that around here but then other times it's like I just have to settle for what I got you know it's just I tried to get it's been said dry here yeah man that they're running here's been terrible it's we haven't had rain in probably a little over a month and it's just it's powder dry the scent conditions are terrible right now we're running right now actually and we've been out since about seven o'clock this morning and we've had two little races if you want to call them that and the other two they they they just couldn't do nothing whether I'm in so dry they can't smell them it seems like how it's not one I'm not one near my brother or one we're not going to make excuses for our dogs I would be getting it what it is but you know it's a drive right now you know we ran with some

pretty good dogs this this last couple days and we've had a couple good races but for the most part it's just so hit and miss because it's so dry well you know just like you and I were talking before we started this I had that sawd put down July the third and we have had since July the third we have had an inch and three quarters of rain since July the third here and this is just at my house you know it's like when I look at the radar it's all around us everywhere is around this you know a county over a town over and it's like that going can we just get a little bit here so yeah here the little yeah exactly it's just what it is hey do y'all let me ask you this do you prefer a male or a female to run to me I don't care but I know some people have preferences and it's just an easy question to ask well here we it doesn't matter it doesn't matter either way to us be j as long as that dog does what it's supposed to do what it's great to do and it does

it right I don't care if it's a male or female now I will say this my brothers he's a little different he didn't he didn't care either way like I just said but I'm always even my koon dogs and stuff I've always preferred a female over a male yeah I don't have to have strictly females but it really it really doesn't matter as long as that dog performs the way it's supposed to perform and does what it's supposed to do I it doesn't matter to me where it's a male or female it just to me with my experience you know growing up over the years like you know like I said I will we've had dogs my whole life of some type but it seems like the females kind of get down to business a little a little quicker yeah you know they don't have to stop them pee on everything inside they don't look like a teenager they're how long they're right yeah they seem to mature a little quicker and but you know as long as as long as that male dog does what he's supposed to do what he's bred to do it doesn't matter to us yeah man it doesn't matter at all it might like you it doesn't but for me the competition aspect a lot of times they run females on Sundays and

I don't like to leave the house on Sundays but so you know to me I don't care either you know so right if she's good she's good if he's good he's good I'll take it either way absolutely and we feel the exact same way you know it will take it whether it's a male or a female as long as they they suit us and they do what they're supposed to do you know a female it doesn't matter that's all that matters as long as they get out there and do what they do hey and I know you are a proud supporter and a man that feeds our joy dog food and I'm waiting myself and everybody else appreciates that can can you tell us what makes you feed joy dog food why you like joy dog food and what blends do you feed of joy dog food well I can tell you growing up my dad he always fed joy dog food in fact my dad sold joy dog food and he also sold King sports and that's going

way back yeah but there was there was a there was an older gentleman that lived that lived about five or six miles from us and he sold joy dog food and so my dad always fed it and then that gentleman unfortunately he passed away and again this was here to go I was a teenager but once he passed away or right around our area you couldn't find it so dad had became a dealer and he started selling joy dog food and he picked up the King of Sports as well he kind of picked up where the older gentleman left off and so growing up that's what we fed and and when I've you know finally become a page and moved out on my own and you know I continue to feed joy dog food I really liked it and and then around here where we live you know we have to drive and we got to drive an hour to get we drive an hour to get it there was nowhere around here to sell it yeah and so we we fed a couple different dog foods and just just wasn't happy with them so we we finally

found the where we could buy the joy dog food at and so we we bought them at a couple local places that are his kennels up in West Liberty Ohio and then the trekker creek kennels over here in Woodstock Ohio and both of those were about an hour from us so we we buy our dog food there primarily a trek or creek but what I like about it is we feed the 24 20 the high energy okay what what I like about it is it it gives it keeps it gives them dogs a drive that they need um it keeps them it keeps them slick in fact they it doesn't matter how to what we've seen out of it it doesn't matter how hard you run the dog and keeps that dog up they've always got energy um they never lacking that department their their coat has has you know their hairs got a lot a lot better a little more shinier just just just this looks cleaner and one of the big thanks for us as

you know we we both have above ground kennels and the one of the biggest things for us is the cleanup I mean the cleanup they have they have a good solid stool they don't have five or six piles in their in their in their kennel every day which tells me and I'm no dog food expert by any means but it tells me that the dog is using that dog food it's just not blowing through its system if that makes sense yeah that's what you know that's that's the proof in the pudding right Terry when you say there's not a bunch of stool because here's the thing one one a dog when you feed a I'm not going to mention any dog food brands but something else and and you see you've got piles and piles and piles each morning that dog is not picking up the nutrients that it needs and everything is just flowing right through and just as fast so he's not getting nothing and you're having a feed more to keep that dog up you know and less like you said with joy you know and all actuality you can feed a lot less and get the same quality and the same results by feeding triple

of something else you know and so you know I know that way to appreciate it and I appreciate it and we all appreciate it that you that you believe in us and you and you feed it and you are getting the results that you want and we are I mean we're really happy with it and like I said that's partly what we fed all the all the years you know growing up and then being on our own and stuff and and we're really happy with it's a good quality dog food you know everything's made right here in the in the U.S. and and you know it another thing that's that's big for me is and me and my brother you know we like to support the smaller businesses as far as like you know we're supporting joy when we buy the joy dog food but it's it's a family owned business but but going back to supporting the local businesses the smaller business like Treacle Creek and others kennels and you know we buy it from them and the price point is is really good and you know the other thing that really stands out to me and and and we appreciate

howonsman is is the give back that that joy dog food and weight and and you guys give back to the to the howonsman the the supports you guys give to the clubs works the coon dogs or the beagles and you know you guys support you guys support our our club up here at the Great Mime Beagle Club with Joy Dog Food and it just the the give back is it's pretty impressive in my opinion I don't see any other brand that gives back as much as Joy Dog a Joy Dog Food doesn't and that's huge from from a sportsman because like you said earlier you get on earlier you know we get all these competition hunts and in a kc we hunt for for a ribbon and you know or rose that and and that's it and and and the pride obviously but when you got somebody like that that supports our industry like we support your industry or Joy Dog Food's industry you know it just works and it's pretty impressive to see what what weight and and Joy does and you know I call Joy Dog Food here a while

back because I was actually because we couldn't find it and I was actually thinking about maybe becoming a dealer and when I called weights one of the answer to phone you and I heard about a 45 minute conversation with him that was pretty impressive and I can't name or think of any off the top of my head any other company you call and the owner answers the phone and just says down has a has a conversation with you like you know you're having right now that's what I was going to say call up somebody else and see if if they're owner answers and well and not only answers but will take the time to sit and talk to you and and answer any question that you that you've got about the product you know I just used this for example I was I went went up there the other was it two weeks ago and a local feed store here had asked me a question about something and I won't get into it here but anyways the second I walked in I told Wade he was like give me one minute

what the man picked up the phone and called the distributor while I was sitting right there you know so it's not very many companies if any you're going to make a phone call the owner's going answer and really sit down and talk to you and not only about dog food about just about anything you want to talk about he'll talk to you about it you know and and and you know and I don't think a lot of people understand you know joy dog food is reality is a small company you know it's family owned and family operate you know you go into their headquarters there's only going to be three to three to five people there you know so they're not huge you know and so the man takes money out of his pocket the business to support what we love to do and that's just impressive to me you know and it's it's hard to find that in today's world and you're 100%

right it is and like I said a minute ago well I can't off the top of my head I can't think of any you know company you call and and the owner answers the phone and and just sets down and like I said we talked for probably for about 45 minutes oh yeah and yeah and for the owner of a company like that to take you know the time out of his day I know he's got to be busy has to be oh yeah but you know to take the time out of his day to just sit and talk and answer my questions and and be as genuine as he was it's pretty impressive and and believe you're not from from a houseman's perspective that that's that's pretty important and it's pretty impressive and it's very appreciative you know we we appreciate that oh yeah the way I look at it if anybody can deal with me because I aggravate the heck out of people because if I got something on my mind I don't never let it go and and if a man can deal with me he's a great guy you know what I'm saying is what it is you know I will I will bug a man to death until he sees it my way you know

what right right right it is but I'm the same way I get it I'm the same way but Tony I was pretty impressed with that BJ I mean you know he he took the time out of his day to talk to me and answer my questions and and get me the numbers that I needed to call up you know the the people in my area and but yeah the you know just just the support that that Joey Dolph who gives the the houseman community and like I said it doesn't matter if it's cream dog squirrel dogs beagles or whatever you know the retrievers the bird dogs it is pretty impressive and that's important to us as houseman to have that support you know our Beagle Club is a very small club and in fact our trial is the first trial of the season it's coming up this coming weekend over we actually hold it over Conorville Indiana and at whitewater so that's coming up this weekend and we're getting ready for that and and it's it's becoming a you know this is actually going to be our I guess

technically you would say it would be our start to finish full-time trial season this year and we're really excited and looking forward to that and and but we really appreciate what what Joey Dolph who does for the for the houseman and the you know the sportsman and the clubs and it means a lot you know especially to the small ones that that you know they make a lot of money or have a lot of money and that extra support is it's actually huge yes and that's what you know a lot of people have to realize too you know with when you have the availability to be able to call the guy that owns the company I don't want to I don't want to sound like this is a bad thing but you know the little guy gets to feel like hey I'm in touch with the guy that's making it happen and and I feel very appreciative now that I actually got to sit down and talk to him and not only talk to him he listened to what I had to say right right and like I said a minute ago and you're 100% right but like I said that that that's important I mean that and you know that's important to

us and you know it does make you feel good it's like man this guy really you know it's just not a smoke spring he really does care he really does and he does you know he believes in his product and he he supports you know he supports these clubs and these organizations and and that's huge yeah yeah and like I said I I can't think of any other any other uh whether it's a dog food company or you know a tracking company or whatever that that gives the support that they do and that means a lot and really does yeah it's it's important and Wade knows it's important and that's that's why success has happened since he's taken over to we don't know it's just he's good at what he does and and he does care and that's the biggest thing of it all is that you've got a man that's willing to care that's willing to support and not only that you know if there's anything else you know you need help advertising it or anything you know that I'm sure the man will help you know he might tell one of us to do it but you know it's it's going to happen you know so

that's a that's a great thing Tony Joy Dog Food and myself we all appreciate you taking out almost an hour every time on this morning but I hope you continue to run today and have some good running it's going to get hot so um well you know I appreciate it to be Jane and you're right it's not getting hot it's already hot I'm sitting in my condition so I can't say nothing this morning well you know if I had a if I had a choice I guess uh and this could be my officer or or my full-time work schedule I would kick this over anything else I I love to be outdoors and then I love being out here with my dogs and and uh but I I greatly appreciate you uh you know and invite me to be on and and we appreciate you and enjoy dog food and weight and the family and and uh everything they do and and support us and um you know we're just a we're just a little just a little kennel that uh is enjoying life and doing what we love and we were very appreciative and

thankful that we have uh you know we have uh people like Joy Dog Food and you guys that uh invest the time and and the effort in us and it works both ways and and uh again I really appreciate thank you thank you sir have a good day and keep them hands on the ground that's the only way we're gonna make them you've got that right absolutely you do the same and uh we'll uh we'll talk at you soon DJ thank you all right let's have a good day DJ bye bye

you
