00The left leg amputation is complete and the patient is staying. Doctor, don't you mean right leg? No, wait. Left leg is what I thought the chart indicated. Damn, I had it upside down. Oh my god, the patient's waking up. What? You cut off the wrong leg? What? I'm gonna sue you stupid son of a- Looks like Dr. Schmagel could use something to lighten the mood. Try rim shot on a belt. I'll be cut off the wrong leg, eh? Oh, I see. Oh, Dr. You got me, Doc. Upside down. That's beautiful. Thank you. Hey, uh, listen, Doc. By the way, uh, you're just kidding, right? I didn't get the leg cut off. I was just here for an appendectomy. Appendectomy. Holy s**t.

But what if you can't wear a belt? Say you're in a nudist camp. You need rim shot on a hat. Hey, tell me. Isn't that your naked wife over there getting it on with film on door? What? I got you. That's not film on door. It's rim shot on a belt. It's your brother Tom. Press it again. It's a joke, right, Jerry? Rim shot on a belt. Rim shot on a hat. We're both today and we'll throw in. Homo says what? On a dickie. Oh, is it what? Call 1-800. But I'm on. That's 1-800. But I'm on. We're just waiting for the cast to actually show up for work. Here's more Boba Dom extra.
01Got a couple of emails from our listeners today. And this one evidently they are all interested in Josh and his turret pet tarantula. Oh, yeah. And we didn't get the name of the tarantula. Thank. Thank. That's right. You said thank you. Well, this it's almost September are writer, right? Which means one of Colorado's most fascinating wildlife events is about to begin. The so-called Colorado tarantula migration. Wow. Every fall hundreds of people head to the prairies of southeast Colorado, hoping to witness large brown tarantulas walking across grasslands. It's not technically a migration. Visitors are actually seeing the annual tarantula mating season. Male tarantula. It's a tarantula. These tarantulas are primarily known as Oklahoma brown. In Colorado, they leave their burrows in late summer and early fall to search for
06ladies. Wow. Tarantula one. There he is. How about that for realistic that ass? It does have. Oh man. I can't. How do you sex a tarantula? That's a great question. A great question. I you know, I don't know. Like a like a Peter on that or something. So, thank could have been a guy. Could have been a girl. We don't know. I don't remember if they even told us. Could have been a fan get. Could have been a fan get. Male tarantulas take seven to ten years to reach maturity. I just started to. Hi. And females even longer. Ten to twelve years. Years? That's the opposite of humans. It takes boys longer to mature than females. For most of their lives, of a tarantula stay close to their burrows. They're home bodies. But days shorten, nights cool. Males are triggered to wander and insert to that sweet. Do you want to know how many burrows there are? Like five like New York.
07They're like me. Yeah. There's like Staten Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx. You got a hard roll and a cup of coffee. Would you go to this? Oh, I they give me the willies. Yeah, you'd be. And I really, I really wasn't aware that I got the willies from tarantulas until yesterday when you guys started talking to me. When you start talking about it. Well, you probably haven't been around many, right? That's right. I suppose to a tarantula. My mother wouldn't let me have a dog. Is there a little fish? Oh, yeah, they turn it on attack. I've walked through a spider web the last four days. Out here on the house. Out here on the staff. Right here. No, in my house, one of them was inside my house. What? Where I just I just turned a corner and walked right through a spider web and went, what the hell was that guy doing? We had an agreement. Yeah, you got to stay outside. And I'm inside. Okay. They are quick, quick builders. Yeah, yeah, they're amazing. I have a spider web stick up at the lake house. And when I get up every morning, I go down the stairs and knock all the cobwebs
10out of like the the water slide and around the boat. And the other day, I look over and my spider stick encased in a spider web. They knew what I was up to. So I had to get a new spider stick to free the old spider stick. They must watch you go through the web and go son of a very good. I don't like it. I feel bad. I smell like night making that. They are so quick. Yeah, it's unbelievable. Yeah. Well, they have they have spider man powers. Yeah, yeah, if you get bitten by one, did you ever get bitten by a dransula? No, you say no. Oh, you got bitten by squirrel. That's right. No, I got bitten by snake. I did not we were talking about squirrel bites, but I did not get I've not had the pleasure of being bitten by squirrel. Well, this gentleman named Mark says Josh was right about squirrel bites. It hurts like hell. It just seems like I got a pet squirrel named Rocky. Of course, love it. Rocket J squirrel. He doesn't like being messed with.
11Oh, I bet not. He let you know. All right, but he, uh, Rocky does like to play. He says so there you go. A pet squirrel. I got a pet squirrel. You mean, uh, I know you would just. Well, don't you feed the squirrels and you're not the school. Christie. No, that's awesome. Yeah, all he does, I feed birds and the birds. The squirrels want to eat all the bird food, which we have a constant battle. Somebody's going to get a raging case of Lyme disease. And then we'll see who feeds the squirrel. And then I bought all that hot pepper food because that's supposed to keep the squirrels out. Oh, it works like wonders at my house. Not at my house. They overcome. What? Yes. They never they hate it. Oh, good for you. Take a little sriracha. Just drop it in there. I've used cayenne pepper. What are you talking? Are you cooking the squirrel? Can you eat squirrel? You can eat squirrel. Of course, yeah. I have tried squirrels. Have you guys? No. Yeah, it was fine. Did you have ears as too? No, it was like battered and deep fried. Oh, really?
11Like was there like a leg a bone? No, they were like little strips. This happened at someone's home. Yeah. They hunted a bunch of squirrels and I remember it was a big deal. I got a squirrel tail to put on the radio antenna for a family car. And I was I was over the moon. Yeah, those are raccoon tails. We're big. Back in the day. Let me tie it on. Uh-huh. When I when I got divorced for the first time, I had to move into a kind of CD apartment complex. And my second day driving in my neighbor above me had like 20 pelt's on his balcony, squirrel pelt's drying hanging from the oh, got you. And he and he made me squirrels too. Okay. It was. Yeah. Yeah. He wouldn't have had he not told me I wouldn't know it was squirrel. Yeah, same. Yeah. I don't know if I could do that. What do you do with the hides, the pelt you make hats? Oh, yeah. He would tan him and uh, and sell him.
12I'm not sure where, but yeah, he did that on the weekly. There's this what I've learned about squirrels. They don't understand English very well. I've gone out and tried to reason with them. I've been nice to them. But you need to record yourself doing it. You guys seen the viral video or the squirrel, the boy squirrel gets his testicles caught in a bird feeder. Yes. Have you seen this? And he's hanging off the birds on the ground. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You can't help but just project your own. Yeah. It really is a bummer. I had one of those kinds of feeders, but I could, it first of all, it's impossible to clean. And for that very reason, I felt bad that somebody would get stuck in it or get their little paw caught. And for that very reason, I'm out. You're out. I'm out on the bird feeder. I think I'm going to be out on the flat feeder. Do you have a flat feeder? You know, just like a tray. Well, kind of, it's a little howl. There's something that comes over a person when you get to a certain age where you just want to sit and watch the birds eat. It's so. And I don't know. I don't know. It's on a window. Oh, yeah, I eat. So I can just look in there just eating two feet for me.
13Yeah. That's so relaxing, isn't it, Josh? Yeah, love it. Yeah, it's sweet. A little Zen. Yeah. Zen, you might try it. I have a room out there. I'm going to. Yeah. I have some feeders I can give you. I can never attract hummingbirds though. Never never do it. I have a cardinal plant at hummingbirds a lot, I guess. It's like cotton candy the lady told me. Cardinal plant. Yeah, cardinal. They doesn't grow birds. It's just red. I really know. Cardinals grow on bushes. Yes. He does like the prehistoric squirrel in the ice age franchise. Oh, is that John like was on or? I use the sloth or something, but he always always chasing that acorn. Oh, yeah. That's not a bad running out semi version of wily coyote. Yeah. Yeah, those are good. Those are nice. You know what? I really enjoy though or the I hope they keep making more of these are the minion movies. I find out really endlessly. Really funny. Aren't they aren't they Pat?
13Yeah, I'm just laugh. You guys going to kick out of those? They're not always speaking English. Just the door. They're doing it. Holy shit. You know, it's this one guy who does all the minions. Is that right? Yeah, just the guy who is the same dude. He does all the minions. Wow. And I hope something happens to him. They have to save money on a deal like that, right? Although I guess this last one I am tempted to see this newest one because it's all about movies and all kinds of movie references. Oh, really? That might be fun. Christy, you have a letter over there. Yes, I don't know if I want to bring this topic back up. But yesterday, if you missed the Ali Brin segment, we were talking about bachelor and bachelor rap parties. Oh, boy. This is Ethan from Iowa. He said he heard us talking about that yesterday. He went on two bachelor trips this spring. They were both four days long. One was both bachelor and bachelor at groups together. Oh, that's kind of fun. Yeah. And he said he thinks it's more common now, especially with younger people. This was like a 22 to 26 age group.
15He goes, if the group is a bunch of golfers, which they are, they spent a long weekend and enjoyed a couple different golf courses. And then they had the girls there in the evenings and it was the best of both worlds. So that's kind of nice. You know, though, one of the, I don't know how to put this. It was really a challenge when we all would all go to the Bahamas for the Super Bowl party. And there'd be like eight or 10 of us wanting to go to dinner. And everybody trying to agree on what do you feel like and making the reservation and some people drop out at the last minute. Do you have a code about that? I don't. I might use your code. What's the code? No more than six. No more than six people at a group dinner. I like no more than six. If it's at my house, it's a little different. But if you're going out to dinner because you have, it's just too many people. Yeah, it's too many people. Yeah. They don't want to serve you. Well, that only that. But it just, they hope you walked by. You know, you're talking the ice age. Do you guys know that my brother is the voice of the traffic
15of culture in the ice age movies? Oh, cool. The traffic culture. Yeah, that's cool. That is cool. I don't recall the traffic culture. I don't either. My own brother. That's great though. Yeah. Well, now I'm going to have to go back and watch. Yeah. There aren't three, two or three. It was. There are maybe five and there's a new one coming out. No way. Yeah. I have to see another one. I think so. Whoa. Man. Oscar, you got a letter. Oh, well, Mark from Louisville pretty much wrote in about the same tarantula thing that you're guy did. Oh, he signed off in such a great way that I need to share it. It says, make it a great day or don't. It's your choice. That's true. Yeah. I'm going to choose to make it a great one. That's a great good attitude. And also Edward from the big island of Hawaii says, uh, August 1st is Saturday. So I'd like to offer my congratulations to Josh on his 10th anniversary today. That's all gosh. Wow. Ten years. Wow. Yeah. Thank you. First in line, maybe we could get the one man band to come back in a
17play. Oh, I was really great. That he'd feel like a day over 11. Really. He's got a he's got a bad just busy time of year. Isn't it? This is the one that fans. He does the fairs, doesn't he? I think so. Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later. This is from Charles. Yes. Dear Bob Atom Show, I have watched and listened to the Bob Atom Show for a few years now. I have a background in psychology and counseling. Oh, boy. Specifically abnormal psychology. Your videos on YouTube creates for me an amazing perspective as I look down on your studio and listen to your discussion about phobias. It was indeed fascinating. I think I'm going to write a book about it. Oh, nice. Well, for a set of copies. Yeah. Please. Now I write a liner notes, a jacket note, whatever. What are they? They're a credit. Yeah. Write a blurb about that. Yeah. Why not? Right? Here's a letter from Tim and Ohio.
18His daughter works at a summer camp. It's an all girls camp and they're 10 year olds. Okay. And some of the things she's overheard from the 10 year olds during the summer. All right. Okay. And I'm just going to read a couple of them. Okay. It's so cool that you have underwater eyes. The little girl is talking about goggles. Yeah, it's like a termism. Yeah, I'm making a voodoo doll of my brother. A hilarious chair. Nice hearts and crafts. Oh, hell boy. Yeah. Are your parents divorced? Not yet. Wow. That kid's a real part, isn't it? Yeah, right? It's okay. Every toe has a butt crack. Every toe has a butt crack. My gosh, it does. Oh, if you think about it, it kind of does. I don't know what you're saying. Every toe has a butt crack. Yeah. Well, I think that's what they mean. Tastes next to each other. I see. That's what they're doing. You know, I do like the like the peak toe shoes. We see each other. At least all the toes doing.
19I think do you like those? I like those a lot. Every rose has a thorn. A little bit. That's right. Poison taught us that, didn't it? It did. It's a good show. You know, uh, who's, uh, I heard that from the traffic vulture. And, uh, I've never even seen one of those. I sage, I sage movies. And finally, sorry, I was in the bathroom for a minute. I had to wash my face. I didn't want to look like a street rat. Well, that's somebody's mom. Yeah, that's exactly right. Well, you mentioned a Tomism brand of rights. And I heard the greatest Tomism today. My friend was telling a story about a person came over to his house. Hi. Uh, anyways, I guess what he got there. He couldn't remember what an attic was called. So he called it the upstairs basement. Yeah, as soon as I heard the story, I immediately thought of. That is, that is all. Given at it. Uh, yes. And you get in it? No. Well, maybe I can now. I couldn't, uh, they creep me out. Yeah, when I was a kid, um, it's, uh, there's access
21in the spare bedroom ceiling. And it's like a square about the size of a paper plate. Like the, uh, the handyman and the pair man. Uh, he can get up there, but I, I can't. But then you have for one, an attic like in Christmas vacation, where it was full of stuff and you could pull the stairs down and, I think I'm kind of scared of those. Really? I don't, uh, I don't, I don't cotton to addics or basements for that matter. No, like a basement. Well, unless it's, you know, basements that are finished, that are really not those aren't basements. There's just more of the house, you know, okay, with carpeting and pool tables. Like that's not a basement. Sure. Yeah, I know what you mean. Concrete floors. You have a basement. Yeah. Is it finished? Not really. No, I mean, it's not, no, but it's the nicest unfinished basement I've had. Oh, you know what we should do is you get down there one weekend, throw up some drywall, finish it, drink some beer. But I want to, you know what? Yeah, well, I'd be up for like a ping pong table and stuff like that.
23I don't want to drywall it. I don't want to finish it. I, it doesn't, I'm not messing with that. Okay. Drywall. Drywall is a, I can't hang drywall because you, you could work on it as long or as little as you want. Yeah, I would not leave it alone. Exactly. I, somebody else has to do it. I would put the mud on that I sand it that I put more mud on. It would go on for six months. That's an art form, isn't it? Yeah. Man. You have to care just enough to be good at it, but not care over care. Exactly. Exactly. No thanks. Oh, I had no idea. That's it for another Bob and Tom show. Extra catches on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher. For Bob and Tom Extra, this is Christopher. Take care, everybody.
