Recently, US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement hired 12,000 new officers on special agents to help carry out mass deportations. But an Associated Press investigation has found that some of those hires started working before passing background checks. One hire failed the police academy and lasted only three weeks and his only job is a police officer. Another was accused of arresting a woman on false allegations while working as a sheriff's deputy. The incident led to a $75,000 settlement. Another candidate had two bankruptcies and six law enforcement jobs in three years. During a congressional hearing in February, ICE acting director Todd Lyons described his officers as well-trained and well-vetted Donna Warder Washington. And I'm Marcela Sanchez.
